Spencer had been out the door early that morning with the usual kiss on the forehead for his kids and a minute's worth of chaste kisses for his wife.

Friday nights are dance classes which usually works well with Spencer's schedule since their cases start at the beginning of the week and wrap somewhere in the middle.

He didn't take his car to work, figuring they didn't need two, especially since they were going out afterward to get ice cream and celebrate the girls' recital.

Morgan had distracted Spencer while he's waiting for a message from Y/n to tell him she's there, and when his phone chimes, he doesn't hear it.

So the four of them make their way up to the sixth floor, the girls bouncing up and down while Y/n holds their youngest.

Spencer doesn't notice them until the girls squeal and run across the floor to where he's standing in the kitchenette. He knows those sounds well and turns from tipping out the rest of his coffee to greet them.

"Hey." He grins, bending down to their height and holding out his arms so he can catch the three-year-olds. The twins attack him with cuddles, excited to see him after so long. He effortlessly picks them up, carrying one in each arm against his sides as he looks at his wife. "Why are you guys up here?" He asks.

"I texted and called." She tells him, and he looks for his phone before realizing he left it sitting on his desk.

"Oh, I was in the board room. I'm sorry." He apologizes, knowing it can't have been easy to lug three kids out of the car.

She shakes her head, stepping closer to kiss him. "Don't worry. Are you nearly ready to go? These two are pretty excited."

They agree, kicking their ballet-shoe-clad feet up and down. "I can tell. You both look so pretty." He tells them, looking at their identical white tutus and slick back buns. "And yeah, we should probably go." He spins around, carrying them to his desk to skillfully pick up his stuff while holding them.

Y/n follows him with the baby carrier, helping put his (thankfully closed) files into his satchel while Spencer chats to the girls about their days.

While they stand in the middle of the bullpen, they're viewable from the boardroom where Morgan, JJ, Emily, and Penelope are sitting.

Morgan catches them in his peripheral vision first. "Uh, guys, who's that with Reid?" He draws everyone else's attention to the happy family outside.

"Spencer's got kids?" JJ asks as they all make their way to stand closer to the glass where they can see the mysterious visitors.

"Spencer's got a wife?" Penelope echos her confusion.

"A hot wife." Emily jokes, getting hit on the shoulder by Penelope as punishment.

Morgan seems to agree with her, though. "That can seriously not be someone's mom."

"Should we, like, leave them?" JJ wonders, although she really doesn't want to.

"No." Penelope shakes her head. "We've got to meet those adorable children."

It's Morgan's voice that draws Spencer out of the bubble of their happy family, reminding him he was never out of eyesight. "Hey, pretty boy," Morgan smirks, out of the room and leaning on the railing.

JJ, Penelope, and Emily all stand next to him, watching Spencer's reaction."What is going on?" JJ asks.

Spencer's speechless about their secret coming out, so Y/n steps up. "Hi, I'm Y/n Reid, and I'm his wife." She introduces herself. The four of them make their way down to shake her hand, except for Penelope who can't resist hugging her.

"You have a wife?" JJ asks.

"And three kids?" Penelope adds.

"A beautiful wife, too." Morgan flirts playfully.

Spencer chuckles slightly. "Surprise?" He offers. "This is Belle." He turns to the side, showing them one twin. "And this is Bea."

"Daddy!" 'Bea' complains with a giggle. "I'm Mabel."

He's been mixing them up on purpose since they were little, amusing them to no end which was his goal as a parent. He just grins at her. "And that's Beau." He nods to the 6-month-old boy still in his seat, still asleep. Y/n turns his car seat around so they can see the baby.

"I'm sorry you guys never knew." She apologizes. It would have been nice for both parts of Spencer's life to overlap, but he was paranoid about something happening to them.

"Wow." Morgan verbalizes for the rest of them. "You really can keep a secret."

Penelope places a hand over her heart jokingly. "Even I didn't know."

"It won't make you feel better, but Gideon, Hotch, and Rossi all know." Spencer tells her menacingly. He knows she's going to go look them all up when they leave. As little people as possible knew since he was terrified about someone bad getting to them, but it feels like a weight has been lifted off his shoulder now that his two lives have overlap. "We do kind of have to go." He remembers, looking at his watch.

"We'll just send you a list of questions when we finalize them." Penelope settles as they say farewell to each.

Morgan waits until they're just out of earshot to make his next comment. "Number one, how did you get such a hot wife?"

Hello!!!! =D

So. We Are ep 13. I don't how they do this, but they keep making every episode better than the last. At this rate, I'll not be able to survive episode 16.

Warning: long post 😊😅 (there will be a smol part 2 because 30 screenshots are definitely not enough.)

We have the Best Parents in BL, but now I present to you: The Best Aunt in BL.

Subtle, Aunt Pui, real subtle. 😭

I get her. She just wants a nice, handsome boyfriend for her nephew. 😌

First of all, the symbolism is hitting me right in the face, but it's also so subtle because no one else knows the whole story, so they wouldn't be able to figure it out.

Secondly. Yes, the red and blue do clash a bit, and it's not the prettiest little painting. But. Not every painting has to be "pretty" or perfect. Just like feelings or emotions in real life. Peem didn't willingly draw over his precious painting because he thought it'd look better; he did it because he wanted it to express his feelings. This also ties into Peem's insecurity at having (apparently) failed at being Phum's comfort zone because see, in the painting it looks like the sea is embracing the roses, or protecting them.

What I'm trying to say, is that what makes art beautiful is not just what you directly see on the canvas/right in front of you. And this applies even to the "pretty" ones. The David is not just famous because it looks very good, but also because of the amount of skill and talent Michelangelo had to be able to create such a thing from a block of marble. (I'm sorry I'm not good at examples or analogies 😭)

Sir. What business do you have, making an expression like that and giving me a heart attack.

If I haven't said this before: find a man who looks at you like Phum (Pond) looks at Peem (Phuwin).

Two sides of the same coin.

Phum still feels guilty (which is very clear from his reaction to what Peem says) about ruining Peem's painting, so he wants to do something to make sure nothing like that ever happens to Peem again.

Peem is long over it (you don't ever forget shit like that, but he has definitely forgiven Phum). He met Phum because of that Incident™, and he has a new, upgraded painting, so this is just a light joke for him. But the moment he sees it's too soon for Phum, he immediately goes to reassure him he's just kidding, and he absolutely does not hold it over Phum.

A simple pinky promise, but how much does it mean to Phum?

He's never had someone to make a pinky promise with; Fang was in a similar situation as him, and Beer knew better to make a promise and have it broken by forces outside his control.

So this, this small, childish gesture means quite a bit to him. (Which is also probably why having broken it hurt him so much.)

And yet Peem, you're smiling so wide while saying that. Almost like *le gasp* you actually like it!

Let's be real here, Peem. You don't mind at all. In fact, you sounded unbearably fond saying this. You were quite literally giggling and kicking your feet. (Which fits my headcanon of him pretty well actually.)

Well, Chain, I'm sorry to be the one telling you this, but Phum moved into Peem's heart like 6 episodes ago.

Well, yeah, but Peem has to act at least a little bit like the tsundere he is, right?

Chain: "Well, can a cupid shoot an arrow at himself?"

Toey: *very telling side-eye*

Q: You really think one flirty line will trigger his half braincell to understand what he didn't in the past however many years? ...go on, I wanna see how this turns out

Pun: *pikachu meme face*

Beer: Oh damn here goes another one, we must be nearing the last episode

Phum: ????

Peem: Don't say anything don't say anything DON'T SAY ANYTHING DON'T YOU DARE FUCKING SAY A SINGLE WORD- (internally: Idiots. They're idiots.)

Ah, I love the sibling energy here. Also, initially I was like nah you're more like Tan. But then I gave it some thought. And had a Realization: he really is the Fang in their relationship, and Q really is the Tan. (I do not have the brainpower to explain rn, but tell me if you want me too, I'll include it in Part 2.)

Phum can't wait. (And neither can Peem, because I didn't see ya denying anything, babe. Instead, you gave him the softest shoulder bump in the history of soft shoulder bumps and that bigass (smitten) smile.

Oh boy this scene.

Right before this, when Peem called Phum immediately after the last brushstroke, I was smiling so hard and giggling like yesss do boyfriend-y things with each other!

Him waiting on the porch: still big smile. Here comes Phum! Ooh are they gonna flirt in the car??

My smile started dimming as the seconds ticked by and no Phum appeared on screen.

Until I finally realized what was happening.

I almost stopped breathing.

And as the scene went on my heart broke a little more with every text and every call, and I was watching that mall scene again. Except it was much much worse this time.

So long story short, I was heartbroken for both of them. Especially when Peem showed up alone with the saddest lost-kitten face ever.

But, at this point I knew Phum must have had something really urgent/unaviodable to miss his meeting with Peem because 1. He really really loves that boy and 2. He was very much looking forward to doing this with Peem.

Unfortunately, I will have to end Part 1 here (please don't kill me), and I'm loathe to end on a sad note, but I promise the next part will be much happier. It will hopefully be posted a little later today.

They always loved your singing , they find it one of the most satisfying sounds they’ve ever heard.

Will beg you to let them sit and listen in.

If your singing along with a song then they might just get up and start dancing along.(why did that rhyme omg , in my poet era)

You guys would make such a cute dynamic duo though

If there’s ever a talent show , they will begrudgingly hopefully ask if you want to do it together.

They joke that you should make a soundcloud and post your singing there.

You kinda ruin most music for them from how much they love your voice lol

You and your childhood friend, Qiu were hanging out in your living room. It was late, your mom was still at work and Qiu’s parents decided on a spontaneous dinner date and trusted Qiu wouldn’t get into any trouble while they were gone.

Which Qiu thought was stupid, I mean what trouble could they get into so late at night?

They sat on one of the few mismatched couches and messed around with one of your mom’s pillows that had a loose string.

You were sitting on the floor, with an older disk player near you. You had been digging around your room and found it under your bed and decided to play some music.

“Which disk do you wanna listen to? The first or the second one?” You had asked them, holding up the two shiny disks.

“I don’t care, You can pick,” Qiu replied, shrugging while holding the pillow closer to their chest. They didn’t mind what music was played, just as long as they could enjoy your company.

“The second one then” you proposed, popping it into the player and clicking ‘play’.

The both of you were happy with the choice when a soft melody rang throughout the room. It didn’t have any lyrics, it sounded like something Tamarack’s grandparents may have played in the background while entertaining guest in their “drawing room”.

“Nice,” Qiu assured, flopping down onto the couch.

The two of you sat quietly while listening to the music, you swayed a little and started to hum.

Qiu perked up at the sound but didn’t say anything, worried that you might stop out of embarrassment.

They propped up their cheek with their palm and just watched as you turned that hum into a melody with a for once, at peace smile.

They really liked your voice.

TAMARACK BAUMANN🍂

She thinks you out-sing any famous pop star or church choir any day. She honestly thinks your voice is so angelic.

She loves it when you give her mini concerts while you two walk in the woods together.

I BET both my lungs that you and Tamarack have duets 100%

You two make a lot of music together and record it on one of her Opa’s camcorders.

Her Omi asks the both of you if you can try and cover a Frank Sintra song often.

If you do choir or singing lessons either at school or music hall then expect to practice with her nearly every day.

Tamarack can never duet with another singer because they aren’t you, and can never replicate the melody.

It was late afternoon, a few hours after school ended. Tamarack sat by her windowsill, reading a book about what and what not to feed forest critters when she flinched at the sudden pang of a pebble being thrown at her window.

She decided to look out and giggled seeing who it was, she opened the window and called down.

“MC, If you wanted to come in!… You could have just knocked!” Tamarack chuckled behind her hand, it always made her a little giddy when you would stand below her window like some Shakespearean love story.

“Nah! This is quick, just sit up there and listen!” You gave the ginger a thumbs up before pulling out a bulky boombox that may be older than some of the adults you guys knew.

“Pfft, What are you doing?” Tamarack kept laughing.

“I am going to sing something!!!” You yelled up before you pressed played and let the music play out a little.

Tamarack’s laughter quieted down at that, she paused for a moment before asking.

“Are you trying to serenade me?”

You also paused before answering. “Yeah, that's basically it”

You then lowered the volume of the old boombox and began to sing along with the song’s melody. You didn’t lose eye contact while you sang to her, so this moment felt special and intimate.

Tamarack put a hand to her cheek and watched down with an increasingly growing blush on her cheeks.

She listened to you singing to her and thought quietly to herself. ‘She didn’t deserve such an adorable gesture from you. You were way too good for her. You probably were…doing.. this.. to ..be ..n..ice-‘

Her self-deprecating thoughts were slowly drowned out by your singing, It was sweet of you. After all, Tamarack did love your singing.

You do this routinely thing of hanging out with each and every one of your masters, a whole schedule, specific times of days. On Monday mornings Chun-li teaches you skeet shooting, Wednesday evenings are reserved for baking with Manon, Saturday nights are best for alcoholic shot games with Jamie.

No matter what day though, you always find some way to squeeze in game-time with your first master— Luke, of course. Before you quip back with a sly remark, Luke charges at you. Pinning you down against the floor, sparking up a playful wrestling match. “Awwww so cute!” Han sang out. Not too long after while Han kept up with his attack, IN had joined and started tickling his neck. Seungmin tried scrunching up his shoulders but Changbin had a death grip on his arms so he was hardly able to move, only able to laugh at the sensations on his neck and pits. Changbin on occasion would hold onto Seungmin with one hand and sneak in a few wiggles to his sides or scratch at his ribs, causing Seungmin to jolt every few minutes while Han kept his attack consistent. Last but certainly not least, Lee Know. Changbin let go of his arms that fell to his sides, sleepy giggles leaving his lips.

“that was the cutest shit ever,” Lee Know said patting Seungmin’s hair. Seungmin fell forward and wrapped his arms around Lee Know who was still sitting on his legs.

“tired..” Seungmin mumbled. Lee Know chuckled and wrapped his arms around his sleepy dongsaeng.

“yeah I think that’s our cue to hit the hay, we’ve had a long day, yeah?” Bang Chan said as he went to grab his shoes. Seungmin made a noise of protest and quietly asked everyone to stay. this kid was too fucking cute.

“okay Minnie we’ll go change first then we’ll come back okay?” Bang Chan said walking up to the three on the couch, planting a kiss on Minnie’s head.

“Bin, do you want me to grab you clothes?” Bang Chan asked as Han and Hyunjin went to put their shoes on. The rapper seemed to be preoccupied with a sleepy pup on his lap.

“yes please, thanks Hyung,” he said scratching his fingers up and down Seungmin’s back in a soothing manner. It didn’t take long for the guys to grab their clothes, because less than an hour later everyone was in an old fashioned SKZ pile in the middle of the living room, basking in the warmth of each other.

"It'll be fine, Kokichi. You'll make it, I'm sure of it. ...And, I mean, if it means anything, I can try my best to protect you. I care for you a lot." You caressed his hair, sliding your fingers through his thick strands. "I'm here for you, always."

He lifted his head up slowly, glancing up at you with shiny eyes and a weepy nose.

"Do you really mean that?" He blubbered out, gripping onto your shoulders tightly.

You kissed his tears away. "I do. And if anything were to come in between us, I'd do anything in my power to shut them up." You mused, attempting to peak his interest.

"Wowww~ you'd really do that...? For me?" He began to giggle and kick his feet slightly. "That's real cute of you, Y/N." He twirled his hair playfully before grinning lightly.

It seemed like he was back to his normal, goofy self. But you wanted to make sure he was completely, undoubtedly, 100% okay.

You looked down at him. "How about we go outside, yeah? It's nice out." You pointed to your dimly-lit window that was secluded by shades. You continued, "I'm sure we could find someone to mess with..."

"...You know me so well. I'd love to~!" He popped up from your chest to get a better view of you. Finally, you were able to get a good look at him. This was the first time you've seen Kokichi's smile in the past few hours. You couldn't lie and say that you didn't miss it.

You leaned down, kissed him, and smothered him between your chest one last time. After a few moments, you found each other stepping towards the door, hand in hand.

But before you could let the door close behind the two of you, you heard him whisper a quiet, "Thank you, I love you."

⋆ Monkey D. Luffy x gn!Reader Fluff

It’s quiet on the ship. All you can hear is the waves crashing outside and the snores of a few other crew members nearby. The view from your window is uninteresting too, just the dark waters and occasional flash of moonlight from above. You try to clamp your eyes closed to somehow force sleep on your body, which never works, but you convince yourself that this time could be the first.

Ten minutes pass of the eye-clenching sleeplessness, and you’ve given up. Laying in bed obviously isn’t doing any good, so maybe a snack will set your mind at ease? You think about the scolding Sanji will give you in the morning for nosing around his kitchen, but you shrug and let your feet carry you outside of your room anyway.

When you round the corner into the kitchen, you’re surprised (or not so surprised?) to see Luffy in the same position you are. He’s leaned against the counter staring out into space with tired puffy eyes— like he’d woke less than a few minutes ago and decided he needed a snack. No judgement.

He soon notices your presence, smiling gently and offering to share the grapes he’s munching on. You decline, instead opting for the fried rice you’d somehow convinced Sanji to save for you. Simply taking it out of the fridge to eat cold and pouring a glass of juice for both you and Luffy.

You sit together quietly snacking, listening to the ocean, snores, and each other. Luffy’s eyeing your fried rice (the guy has no self control!), so you scoop up some of the best rice and toppings and hold it to Luffy for taking.

Soon enough, the snacks are finished and Luffy places the empty dishes into the sink. He looks tired, rubbing his eyes and stretching before looking at you with a blank expression. You rarely see Luffy in his tired, calm state. It’s cute! you think.

“Are you ‘gonna sleep tonight?” he asks and you groan, covering your eyes with your hands.

“Wish I could.”

“Well come with me!” he smiles “You can’t be all alone!”

You giggle at Luffy thinking he’s joking until he holds out his hand. He ushers you to take it, and you do, and now he’s giddily leading you to captains quarters without even giving you a second to think. Luffy’s big smile should be concerning (especially at this hour), but you pay no mind and allow him to pull you along.

You don’t recall ever being in Luffy’s quarters before, but it’s about how you’d expect. Sheets of paper covering tables, photos, and his personal belongings scattered around but somehow still neatly. His bed, while unmade, looks the comfiest of any bed you’d seen on the ship; fit for a captain.

“Get comfy, y/n!” Luffy says, stepping over to blow out a candle to leave the room in darkness.

You do get comfy, slipping into his bed like it was made to be. It feels like the blankets double your warmth and hug you just in the right way, and his pillow is the perfect cool temperature. He slides in too, careful to avoid accidentally knocking into you in the dark, but wrapping an arm around your midpoint and pulling your body close to him when he’s settled.

Luffy draws shapes on your arm to help your sleepiness kick in, but the fact that he’s cuddling with you in his bed… sleep is definitely not going to find you tonight. You try to calm your beating heart, but to feel his bare legs against yours, how he’s holding you against him, his fingers dancing on your skin, and his breath gently hitting the back of your neck, you’re wide awake.

You can feel the blush on your face, but Luffy seems unbothered. You try to match his slow breathing, and it helps, but you can still only think about him. How couldn’t you? You’ve got butterflies. Oh god. You think about his arm resting on your hip. You wonder if his eyes are closed, or if he’s thinking about you too? You try to listen to his heartbeat.

You don’t realize you dozed off until the sun shines through Luffy’s window. He pulls you closer in rejection to the sun, burying his face into your neck. What a soft side of Luffy, you think to yourself. The butterflies from last night come back and you wonder if he feels them too. Though his snoring says he isn’t feeling much of anything, right now.

When you wake for the second time, the ship’s sounds consist of Sanji’s cooking, Zoro, Chopper and Usopp chatting close by, Franky, Nami, Robin and Brook in the distance. But Luffy still is wrapped around you, while awake, but holding you close. You smile to yourself… you could get used to this.

Just worry about what the rest of the ship will say when you emerge from Luffy’s quarters!

Imaginary Shadow Dad)Ch.10: Acceptance

Notes: Just rounding out the PBS era. Mk is finally happy and mentally stable.. But not for long! Mwahahaha!

“Con-Graduations, Mk!” Mei joked with a wink as she pulled her little brother into a hug.

He grinned like an idiot and chuckled happily as he hugged her back and spun her around, startling the dragon. Of course, she was used to this, so she calmed down and pulled back to return to her feet and spun him round and round in turn. He yelped but got right into giggling happily moments later. He pulled her closer, off her feet, and sprung himself forward to flip over her head playfully. “Thanks Mei!” he exclaimed teasingly, bending down a little to look down at her while she was on the ground.

She didn’t move. What? Had he hurt her? The Little Monkey crept closer- and got yanked off his feet and pulled to the ground with a scream and laugh. “You Little Monkey! We aren’t supposed to wrestle on the road!” the dragon girl cackled, pulling him closer to her in a sort of pseudo hug to give him noogies. He cackled happily in her arms as she mussed up his hair, kicking his feet with glee.

His dads approached the duo shortly after, Mr.Tang giggling to himself and Pigsy sighing with no real disappointment and tons of amusement. “Yeah. You aren’t supposed to wrestle on the road, so get over here! It’s time for your appointment.” the pig demon claimed, trying to be serious but honestly so happy that the Monkey Kid was finally happy pretty consistently.

“Aww, really? Already?” Mei pouted.

“Yea, Jie Jie. We’re still up for sparring later though, right?” Mk asked, slipping away from the dragon with a goofy smirk.

“You know it, dude! See ya later!” she exclaimed, giving him a good strong hug before calling her bike and zipping off. He waved at her as she drove off, then hopped around playfully as he ran back over to his dads’ truck. His parents snickered as they followed behind, relief and almost aww in their expressions. Their sweet little boy was finally bouncing around like he used to.

With a stupid grin, his Ba Ba called towards him, “Xiao Houzi! Slow down! Pigsy’s falling behind.”

“Wait, what?!” Dadsy asked incredulously, causing his husband to sprint ahead. “Come back here, ya freeloader!” he called as he chased Mr.Tang.

“On second thought, RACE YOU THERE! AGH!” the scholar yelped as he was caught by his husband.

Mk snickered at their interaction, though quickly Pigsy’s competitive side caused him to join the race, though that competitive side was shared by his young boy. The shadow trails at his feet flicked playfully, yet went unnoticed in the boy’s excitement, as he began to parkour down the street, back to the truck. He was far faster than his parents even could be - at least now in their “old” age. He landed in the open doorway of the truck and gave a teasing wink before slipping inside and hunkering down into the gap behind Mr.Tang’s seat.

Today's session with his Shu Shu was one of the unique ones. Sandy was taking him fishing on his house boat. Mk used two teabags of plum tea, as he'd been doing for years now, and Sandy just used a single green tea teabag.

They calmly sipped their tea and talked about Mk’s plans for the future, starting with the spirit asking, “So, are you still planning on being a cartoonist?”

The Little Monkey paused for a moment, then shook his head. “No. I think I’ll just help Pigsy out around the shop and draw whatever I feel like. It’s easier that way.” he claimed with a shrug, looking at the water flowing past the ship.

“Hm. Just wondering, what happened to wanting your name to be known?” Sandy questioned patiently, though he already knew the answer.

The young man thought for a moment, wondering when he brought that up, then remembered. “Honestly? I only wanted my name to be known so that Shadow Dad could know what I’ve been up to, but something tells me he doesn’t need my help for that.” He placed a single hand behind his ears- ear to show what he meant.

Sandy figured it out quickly and chuckled merrily at the statement. “Oh! Hehe! You’re probably right.” He sipped his tea, satisfied with the answer.

“Not to mention, Pigsy’s always wanted me to take over once he's gone.” Mk mentioned. He was glad he didn't have to do that too soon though. He might not be a kid anymore, but he wants a while before he has to take on that sort of responsibility.

After his session, Mk decided to walk to the park instead of riding in his dads’ truck. After all, it was a nice, bright, sunny day. The shadows were cast in such a way that it looked almost unfairly beautiful. He spotted a few different people on his walk as he scanned the crowd for one specific person. He saw a couple walking with their arms around each other as they ate ice cream with their others, a woman in a business suit walking down the road on the phone and ranting, a few young fox demons playing together and then finally - a small pink light flickered towards him, making sure he noticed it before moving to glide along the ground.

He giggled gleefully at the small request. His Ge Ge had started playing little games like this with him recently. This one was a personal favorite for Mk. He chased after the light, following it’s path even when it went up onto the walls, mostly so he could show off his acrobatics.

The light soon arrived at it’s final location, right in front of Big Brother. He didn’t flee right away for once, which was a startling change for Mk, so he just… froze. Like a deer in headlights.

His Ge Ge seemed to reconsider for a moment, then shook it off and walked forward, giving the Little Monkey a few pats on the head. “Congratulations, Di Di.” It had been so long since he heard his Big Brother’s voice - it only made him freeze up more. The older boy seemed to get a little nervous after that, like he thought Mk didn’t know what he meant. He actually did think that, as exemplified by him then saying, “O-On graduating. Uh- Congratulations on graduating.”

The younger simply nodded, still in shock over his Big Brother stopping the chase and actually touching him and talking to him again.

Ge Ge gave a short nod in response, patting him on the shoulder before walking around him. Right when Mk snapped out of it and turned around, he saw a twisting stream of wind and pink light floating up towards the sky, lotus petals falling down from the quickly fading light. A box falling on his head snapped him out of his thoughts.

He breathed out an airy chuckle. “You really are impossible to understand, Big Brother..” Inside the box was a bunch of items, most being art supplies and sketchbooks, though there was also a small tin inside with yet another lotus design on it and a lotus pastry inside. Honestly? Mk might as well be a collector of the things at this point.

Mk arrived at the park a short bit later, unsheathing his purple bo staff the moment he noticed Mei wasn’t rushing to greet him. Looks like today’s a sneak attack day. He focused on the sounds in his surroundings, shadows flickering to life as he heard the odd warbling tone that surrounded his friend when she was in her half dragon form. He shifted his stance and waited…

Clang! The weapons hit against each other as Mk turned to block his sister's attack, then quickly shifted to block her second attack. The duo did tricks to impress each other and both held back just a bit to make sure the fight lasted more than a minute. Their weapons clashed again and again in a flurry of tricks, games, and childlike joy, until eventually they both put down their weapons to do “hand to hand”(Which in this case, means play wrestling like lion cubs!)

After a while more of that, the duo of now very messy young adults sat down at a picnic table to take a break and eat. “So~, now that we’re old enough, what’s your type?” Mei asked jokingly.

Mk snickered softly. “Why do you care? You’re Aroace.”

“Well, I care, because I wanna hook you up! I think it’d be hilarious, and not to mention, it would make you happier!” the girl answered in a cheerful tone.

“Oh- C’mon, Mei! I don’t need a lover to be happy! It would just be a nice little addition to my life, y’know?” The Little Monkey kept avoiding the question.

So Mei decided to pull out the big guns. “We can do this if that helps!” the dragon offered, switching to the shadow language.

Mk had to consider for a moment, but eventually, he caved, fiddling with his necklace as he started thinking, blushing softly as he thought about it. “Well.. I would want a guy who’s like, really confident, and pretty… I’d like him to be real smart too! Maybe good in a spar, and, y’know… able to stand up for himself. Like, super strong and stuff too, you know?” the Monkey Kid listed, cautiously excited as the shadows behind him flicked in the vague form of his tail and he cupped both his cheeks, thinking of some imaginary “perfect guy” just for him.

Mei snickered. “Dude, like, four of those are just, “I want to get stepped on by a hot demon guy-” she teased, but was cut off by her embarrassed brother lightly pushing her back.

“Well, clearly I have a type!” Mk claimed.

“Heck yeah! Don’t let anything change that, Apricot-Boy!” the dragon giggled with a soft smirk.

Things are getting better! And for now, the future's looking bright!

—Purple Bo Staff Era, End!—

Time skip! - Hero is Born - 6:00 A.M.

When the Little Sky awoke, he saw something he didn’t expect - “Good morning, Xiaotian-’”

Mk immediately sat straight up in his bed, disrupting the shadowy hallucination. Oh.. Must’ve just been some sort of lingering bit of his dream or… I dunno - something. “MK! GET DOWN HERE!” Dadsy yelled up to his son, who flinched and covered his ears in response to the volume.

“YUP! COMING!” the younger man yelled down in reply, getting changed as quickly as he could and still adjusting his headband by the time he reached the bottom. “Hey, dads!” he said, walking over to the older couple.

Pigsy was getting things ready for the day, but Mk’s attention was quickly drawn to his Ba Ba instead. Mr. Tang was rereading the legends of the Monkey King again, and was on the final chapter. The story of When the Monkey King Retired! (Aside from the “live” appearances he still does on TV shows, and every single time he shows up at a convention. After all, he might not be a hero anymore, but he’s still a celebrity!)

“OH! I love that one! Can you read it out loud for me?” the Monkey Kid exclaimed, leaning over his Ba Ba’s shoulder excitedly.

Before Tang could respond, his husband responded for him. “No, kid. You got work to do. No slacking!’ Pigsy stated firmly.

“Oh, don’t worry, Pigsy! I’ll be done by the time you’ve finished the orders!” the scholar claimed. “After all, our Little Monkey has been stressed as of late. It’s only fair to let him enjoy his morning!” He jabbed his elbow into Mk’s side lightly, as though to say, “Play along.”

The youngest in the room quickly got his excuses in order. “Oh!- Uh, Yea- Yeah, Dadsy! It’s just one story! Please?~” Xiao Houzi pouted at his demonic parental figure.

Pigsy didn’t even look. “Doin’ puppy dog eyes again?”

Mk’s face immediately fell to a more genuine frown. “Well… yeah..”

“.. I’m gonna regret this, but ONE story. After that, ya’ gotta help me get ready,” the demon relented to the brief whooping of his husband and son.

“I’ll be done before you know it!” Tang claimed. (He was not done before they knew it)

After listening to his Ba Ba’s story, (and a brief lecture from Pigsy) Mk was off! Sure, he heard the shadows muttering more than usual, but he managed to shut those up with a quick meditation break.

“Isn’t it fantastic, uncle? My father will finally be freed!” Red claimed, though Macaque was a little busy trying to decide how to approach his kid after this many years.

The Little Monkey had to double check his GPS. That did not look like a house. In fact it looked like a construction sight. After confirming that it was in fact, the right address, he got in the elevator and started going down.

“Uncle?” The shadow sighed and went over to his nephew. His son could wait a couple more hours. This was once in a lifetime. Strange, though. It’s really close.

He soon realized what was going on when his son strolled through the door. A familiar bird perched in the rafters looked oddly pleased. That son of a bit-

Mk quickly realized - upon seeing a gorgeous flaming-haired guy trying to pull a fancy staff out of the ground - what he’d walked in on, and scrambled up into the rafters. There was a strange bird that almost gave him away when an ominous aura filled the space.

Of course. Of course Wukong still recognized what Macaque's homicidal aura felt like. The shadow was furious! He couldn't believe Wukong had actually decided that the kid was the perfect choice of successor.

Mk was unaware of the hidden figure plotting the Monkey King's murder. He was to preoccupied with what was going on below him. MK had never expected to actually see the Ruyi Jingu Bang with his own two eyes.
