and on steven............. i can't even express how gross it felt to see the ways people reached to ruin his name and abuse him online. demonic behavior.
i didn't start watching watcher bc of steven, i'm gonna be honest. but his content, character, and yes, his mere influence on the company is one of the biggest reasons watcher came to be one of my favorite youtube channels.
i fell in love with steven and his content through dish granted, the way he poured in all his creative effort and know-how so that he could give his friends and loved ones a special, personalized, larger-than-life meal. i thought it was so sweet, and that show is actually one my favorites on the channel.
i still remember how impressed i was to hear steven had proposed to his now-wife with a lab-grown diamond ring, bc he intentionally wanted something more sustainable.
i remember steven's speech for his unforgettable gala award, the way he listed out the asian content creators who came before him, who shaped the space and influenced him. he carried himself with humility, respect, and reverence for the past, and i thought it was extremely admirable.
i remember the "making watcher" episode where shane and ryan outright said that steven was the reason for watcher's survival. how steven stepped up to handle the business side of things when nobody else could. of course the guy isn't a businessman. he's a creative. but he stepped away from his own passions to make sure their company could stay afloat.
and did you notice how many employees at watcher are asian? these folks are damn talented, damn good at their jobs. i don't have direct proof of this, but i just know that steven had a hand in making watcher an incredibly safe and inclusive place to work for asian folks and other minorities. and as an asian viewer, i could feel that influence in the videos. i can feel the care watcher takes to make inclusive content, to make content that feels like the people behind it care. for watcher, "asian" isn't a buzzword someone slaps onto a video to make it sound interesting. it's cultural, it's natural, it's loving. i can't explain it but i feel that distinction and it carries the same exact energy steven does in his videos.
so it was incredibly wild and surreal to have fans try their best to tear all of that down, because he misspoke in the announcement video and... he drives a tesla? i don't even have to touch on that because people know how inconsequential that is to the matter at hand. i don't know how else to make you believe that steven driving a tesla is not an indication of him being evil or an immoral level of wealthy. like be for fucking real, please.
i have never felt so disconnected with this community than i did watching people attack steven for business decisions made by multiple grown-ass people. i will never look at this community the same way i did before. i know all this time, people were jumping for a reason to villainize steven. and nobody can convince me i don't know why.

day in the life, abj
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: first fic! also i know aggie didn’t play in the derby but i’m ignoring that x
-
“morning everyone welcome back to my channel! today i’m finally going to be doing a day in the life after so many requests to do one!”
at fourteen you started a youtube channel just like all your other friends, making random slime videos and gymnastics tutorials with your cousins. which later turned into a channel with over four hundred thousand subscribers.
the gymnastics tutorials and slime videos long gone but now were replaced by vlogs, get ready with mes and q&as.
as of late the vlogs had some cameos of the blonde girl in the background but the two of you had never explicitly mentioned that you were dating.
the city stirred with the promise of a new day as y/n woke to the gentle rays of sunlight filtering through the curtains. beside her, aggie lay in peaceful slumber, her chest rising and falling in rhythm with each breath. y/n couldn't help but admire the beauty of her girlfriend, her heart swelling with affection.
the camera was already set up and ready to go catching the intimate women between the two lovers.
with a soft smile y/n leaned in to press a tender kiss to aggie’s forehead, eliciting a soft murmur of contentment from her lover. "good morning baby," y/n whispered, brushing a stray strand of hair from aggie’s face.
aggie stirred, her eyes fluttering open to meet y/n’s gaze, a warm smile spreading across her lips. today was special, not just because it was their nine month anniversary, but because they had both decided it was time to officially hard launch their relationship.
after breakfast prepared by y/n, the two set out for a morning stroll through the streets of london. y/n mindlessly spoke to the camera, capturing every moment of their walk, the way aggie's laughter echoed through the streets, the way their fingers intertwined as they walked, the way they stole glances at each other when they thought no one was looking.
after a quick pit stop at the farmers market the duo trudged back to their shared home carrying the heavy paper bags. their second stop of the day was aggie's football match, a london derby at stamford bridge, y/n had been eagerly anticipating for weeks. with her camera rolling, y/n cheered from the stands, her voice heard above the roar of the crowd as aggie showcased her skills.
with each goal chelsea scored, y/n’s pride swelled, her heart bursting with admiration for her talented girlfriend. and when the final whistle blew, signaling chelsea’s victory, y/n couldn't contain her excitement, rushing down to the barriers waiting for aggie so she could wrap aggie in a tight embrace, her camera capturing the raw emotion of the moment.
after the match, aggie and y/n retreated to their apartment, where they indulged in a homemade meal. as they sat across from each other at the table, their conversation flowed effortlessly, punctuated by laughter and shared memories. the moment was featured in the video with soft music over it.
with their hearts full, aggie and y/n settled in on the couch, snuggled up beneath a blanket as they watched their favorite movie. with y/n’s camera capturing their every shared glance and whispered conversation, they lost themselves in the comfort of each other's company, the outside world fading into the background.
as the night wore on and the credits rolled, aggie and y/n found themselves reluctant to leave the warmth of the couch. but eventually, exhaustion crept in, and they made their way to bed, where they curled up together beneath the covers, their bodies fitting together like two pieces of a puzzle.
quiet mumbles of goodbyes and thanks for watchings finished off the vlog as in the quiet stillness of the night, aggie and y/n found solace in each other's arms, their breathing syncing in perfect harmony.

• besides your lips, his favorite places to kiss are your cheeks and forehead.
• will tell you he loves you at random moments.
• you could seriously just breath and he’d be like “i love you so much”
• definitely praises you during intimacy with little “i love you”s.
• FOR SURE would call you princess or darling.
• makes little date nights for you to go on every week.
• alternates every other between staying in and cuddling or going out for dinner or to the cinema.
• all of his friends love you.
• especially if you play football and are at least a bit decent at it.
• they always ask how you’re doing when you’re not around, and chris always answers happily.
• he loves to talk about you to the boys.
• will tickle you any chance he gets because he knows you hate it.
• just his revenge for you slapping his ass all the time smh
• loves to play with your hair. he probably even tries to braid it sometimes but always ends up knotting it
• LOOOOVEES when you tangle your fingers in his curls.
• probably loves to have his hair pulled slightly i won’t lie..
• makes for the best boyfriend ever.
• gets you flowers at least once a month and you don’t even have to ask.
• “i know you like white roses, but this time i thought id get you tulips because they remind me of you”
• definitely associate the song “mirrorball” by taylor swift to him.
• “work song” by hozier is YOUR song. i imagine he would love to slow dance in the kitchen after you two just enjoyed a nice home cooked meal.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was cold outside, February was always so cold. You were walking around times square with your two close friends Ellie and Jesse, this was on your guys bucket list to go to New York for a week and what perfect time than now.
The bright colors of the billboards, the chatter in the crowds and for some reason you still have this part deep inside of you wishing you would see her.
“I’m fucking starving guys, can we get something to eat?” Jesse spoke up causing you to snap back into reality.
“Always fuckin’ hungry Jess.” Ellie was being sarcastic, rolling her eyes before looking over at you.
“You hungry too?” Her hands rubbed your shoulders noticing you were shivering from the cold.
Nodding your head you three agreed on going to Chick-Fil-A, even though you were in New York and there were so many options it always came down to your guys favorite homophobic chicken place.
“Jeez, slow down I promise no one’s gonna steal your sandwich.” Ellie side eyed Jesse inhaling his meal.
“You got ops on you or something?” You giggled munching on your chicken nuggets.
“Y’all shut the fuck up, I wasn’t lying when I said I was hungry.” Jesse rolled his eyes.
You guys were sat near the big windows of the restaurant, clear views of the big billboards, New York is beautiful but how the fuck do people live here?
Your eyes roamed around the bright screens until you felt your throat swell up, heart felt like it dropped into your stomach.
Abby Anderson World Tour 2024
Clenching your jaw you looked away hoping your friends didn’t see your sudden change in emotion, unfortunately they picked it up almost immediately. Turning their heads to look at where your eyes were you felt the air in the room change.
“Fuck her, I hope she—“ “Ellie shut up” Jesse cut her off.
All of a sudden you weren’t hungry anymore, the memories were so quick to flood your mind all over again, the tears slowly filling up your eyes. You felt so stupid crying over your ex-girlfriend even though it’s been a year but you fell hard for her.
“Felt like I wasted four years of my life on her.” You sniffled refusing to let the tears stream down.
“Hey, fuck her and her stupid fucking world tour, let’s go watch a movie or something.” Ellie had Jesse pack up the leftovers.
She held you by the arm dragging you out the doors with Jesse trailing behind. Ellie was Abby’s biggest hater, the worst part is you know Ellie was heartbroken as well. Abby and her were best friends for as long as you could remember but she dropped everyone who loved her for fame.
You guys had went back to your shared hotel room, changing into your pajamas you guys cuddled up in the bed, laptop on your lap as you played some stupid movie Jesse picked out. You couldn’t help but slowly zone out into memory lane, you shouldn’t but for some reason your heart still ached for her.
“Baby! Come here!” Abby pulled you onto her lap with the biggest smile plastered on her freckled face.
“I didn’t have a choice.” You giggled feeling her nuzzle her face into the crook of your neck.
She pulled her laptop closer on the coffee table, pressing play on the youtube video she posted of her and her band playing one of their songs that she worked so hard on perfecting.
“My song got a million fucking views!” Your eyes widened, turning around to face her on her lap.
“Oh my god? Baby I’m literally speechless!” You pulled her into a tight hug, she grabbed your face smashing her lips against yours.
“Don’t forget about me when you’re famous.” You joked but shit little did you know she actually would.
You remembered that day so fondly because later that day she was receiving emails and calls from all sorts of people.
“Y/n? Hellooo?” Ellie waved her hand in front of your face.
“How does she zone out for so long?” Jesse nibbled on his snacks.
You lifted your head looking over at Els with your brows arched up confused.
“What?” “Can you skip the damn ad?”

what i would do moving forward if i was watcher entertainment except i don't know anything about business
statement by morning, something like "we've heard you, we're listening. more coming soon." they need to say something, they are loosing subscribers by the minute. including me :D
video posted by monday. here's my vision: the three of them walk into frame with clown shoes (there is sound effects), they have clown makeup and wigs. because this was a clown move. they break down what tf is going on over there and why they felt the need to make this decision?? if your on the verge of bankruptcy just say that. swallow your pride, bring your fucking accountant in and have them break down the costs of things.
delete the patreon, have podcasts on the main channel for free and also on the streaming platform. wild move that they expect people to pay for two platforms for their content?? it's literally just a podcast this is not high budget content, if they want patreon as a cheaper option they could even move things like are you scared, too many spirits on there. bring it down to like $3 a month or something idk people would probably be more willing to pay that than $6 a month.
there needs to be more incentive to sign up to the streaming platform. when dropout launched, it still had plenty of content on youtube for free and continues to upload free content, they also have a large ensemble, and new content daily. watcher will have four videos a month for $6. that's the difference between a meal/ticket home for a lot of people.
so they could put more of their behind the scenes workers as on screen talent (smosh/gmm situation), or take in other buzzfeeders maybe? idk just there needs to be a way to get more content. as it is this isn't enough to justify it.
crowdfund for the pricer projects like worth it, ghost files. this is what starkid does, people are willing to put money towards things they specifcially want to see. but if people are wanting to watch just ghost files & mystery files, theres not enough content to justify $60usd a month.
have a meeting where you realise who your target audience is and understand it is largely people 15 - 35, who do not have income spare/do not have income that can go towards an extra frivolous thing such as this.
most of the audience has followed for shane and ryan, and their dynamic. lots of people have followed for ghost files/mystery files, people don't care about these shows being super high budget!! especially mystery files, that could honestly be filmed with one camera, two of them behind a desk rhett and link style there is no need to have so much money dedicated to such a low budget concept. this would also allow bigger seasons for files.
please watcher revaluate your choices. i think people will permenantly have a changed view of you going forward but you can still save what you have.

Please make a routine guide inspired by Saranghoe u can refer to her youtube vlogs she us productive
How to live like Saranghoe .𖥔 ݁ ˖𖦹⭒°。⋆
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a guide on daily routines inspired by Tracy Sohn a.k.a Saranghoe! thank you for the request and sorry for the long wait!
content list (routines):
morning
study
workout
shower + self care
night
(_ _ ) . . z Z⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚୨ :★: ୧ ∗  ˖࣪ ໒꒱  ˚₊·
Tumblr media
✸ ꒰ morning routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆
👛 Tracy is definitely NOT a morning person, so everytime she wakes up the first thing she does is check her phone for a few minutes. After that she gets straight up and opens up her curtains to let the light in.
Then she goes to her bathroom and uses a hair band to get her hair out of the way so she can brush her teeth and wash her face with a gentle foam cleanser. After rinsing it out she uses her skincare products; toner sheets, serum, cream and a tinted sunscreen!
🌷 Now she changes clothes, Tracy usually wears cute knit tops with some plaid skirts in basic colors (white, gray or black) and she also wears some dainty jewelry and leg warmers. Remember to put on a hair roller to style your bangs while you do your makeup!
It's time for makeup! Tracy usually does the same makeup routine, eyebrows, mascara, eyeliner, blush, lip tint and a shiny highlighter, oh! also she only puts on a bit of concealer since the tinted sunscreen already works as a glowy foundation.
🍥 Clean your room a little before packing the last things on your bag and spraying perfume to you out to your uni / school or have brunch!
Tumblr media
✸ ꒰ study routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆
Tracy usually takes digital notes on notion! and she always includes useful links with videos and resources so she can review them later. For language learning though, she copies the vocab on a notebook and reads it before her test so she can have them fresh in her memory. She also always studies listening to ost of her favorite animes, kdramas or manhwas!
🩰 After a long day of school she likes to take a nap and have some rest!
Tumblr media
✸ ꒰ workout routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆
If you're curious on how Tracy takes care of her figure you need to know that walking plays a huge role in it! In her vlogs she always goes to most places entirely by walking! You can do this too and start counting how many steps you walk in a day.
🏩 Also you can try and dance to an energetic kpop song like Hype boy by NewJeans, practicing multiple times a day can definitely replace a workout routine!
Tumblr media
✸ ꒰ shower and self care routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆
If you want to have a selfcare, start your shower routine by taking a long bath, use a bath bomb, some bubbles and candles to set the mood, you can even use a little tray to watch kdramas like tracy!
🛍 Then you can play some music to actually take a shower, take care of your hair with shampoo and conditioner and then clean your body with a cleanser and a loofah.
When you're done it's time for skincare, use some toner pads, serum, moisturizer, eye cream and lip balm! also apply cream on your body and cuticle oil on your nails.
💞 Next you can dry your hair and use some leave-in products to have extra soft and shiny hair!
One of Tracy's keys to look extra cute and pretty always is to get appointments with professionals to get facials, lash perms, haircuts and her nails done!
Tumblr media
✸ ꒰ night routine ꒱⋆ ࣪.* ࣪.⋆
👚 Tracy usually dines out with her friends or family! After she arrives home she gets comfy so she can have a long study session! If you're a night person, try and get all your assignments done at this time to feel extra productive! And don't forget to have a late night meal/snack.
After getting all her school work done she relax on her bed, often with a sheet mask on (specially on winter) and watch anime or dramas until she falls asleep
Good night!
Tumblr media
heyyyyy I finally post again haha, sorry for making you guys wait for sooo long but I got my period and I was feeling soooo bad I wanted to disappear 💀 also idk why my liz post getting so much attention made me a little anxious so I procrastinated all my requests for so long hehe im sorry :(
well that's all I will try to upload my next requests soon !!!

Separatist Swaps: Home Cook Youtubers
This week’s theme from @radblrthemeweeks is  Separatist Swaps (suggesting equivalent female artists/musicians/creators/etc to support as well as or instead of men)
I’ll admit I don’t read or watch TV much, but I do watch a lot of YouTube.  I added some of my favorite channels to this post in the past (X).  This will be an expanded list in no particular order.
Initially, I wanted to compare each channel to a similar male-led one, but I opted to just summarize what I think is unique about each one.
Food and Cooking
Note: I prefer vegan/plant based cooking, so I’ll specify which of these channels are exclusively vegan.
Cheap Lazy Vegan (V) Rose makes a lot of Korean food, but the ingredients are pretty easy to find at a regular grocery store.  Many of her videos feature high protein, nutritious meals that can be ready in 20 minutes or less.  I’ve also found her recipes to be shockingly simple without getting boring.
Rainbow Plant Life (V) Nisha is one of my favorite youtubers.  Her recipes are a bit more involved that Rose’s, but I’ve made several of them myself so they’re still approachable for a home cook.  Her recipes are primarily American or Indian inspired with advice for meal prep and saving time.
Pick Up Limes (V)  Sadia is a nutritionist, so her recipes tend to be wholesome and nutritious.  However, she still has a lot of recipes for comfort food and desserts.  I don’t make her recipes as often, but her videos are enjoyable.
Sierra Ann  I like her easy “recipes” (more like meal ideas), but she sometimes posts about fashion as well.  Her content is more akin to a vlog than concrete recipes or cooking tips, so I find myself watching her YT shorts more than her longform content.
Lisa Nguyen  I’ve only ever seen her YT shorts so idk if she makes longer videos or not.  She does instant ramen challenges where she tries different brands or ramen hacks.
Morgan Drinks Coffee  Morgan releases a mix of recipes and other content like appliance and coffee reviews.  She has a lot of advice for people just getting into coffee or those who want some fresh ideas.
Inga Lam  When I made the other post she was still working for Buzzfeed, but she recently decided to focus on her own channel.  I’m not sure what she has planned but she’s very creative and ambitious.
How to Cook That  Ann Reardon mostly makes baking videos, but I prefer her debunking videos.  She seems to have shifted more toward debunking dangerous videos in general, not just food related videos.
June Xie from Delish  June makes long videos creating a week’s worth of meals, often on a budget.  My main complaint about her content is that some of the food she makes is either not for everybody or uses ingredients that aren’t readily accessible, like produce from specialty shops.  However, that also means her recipes tend to be unique and interesting.  Her boyfriend also comes off as kinda rude, but he’s only there when they’re tasting the food.
Beryl Shereshewsky  People from around the world submit ways they eat a particular food, like instant ramen or onions, and Beryl makes and reviews them.  These videos are helpful when I feel stuck in a routine and want to see ingredients from a different perspective.
Alix Traeger  Alix used to work for Tasty, but now she makes content on her own channel with her girlfriend Zoya.  Zoya is Persian, so it’s been fun watching Alix try to master Persian dishes.
Here are some others I saw in my Watch Later list that I don’t watch often or haven’t seen yet.
Mina Rome (Cooking)
Doobydobap (Cooking)
Flo Lum (Cooking)
Sarah’s Vegan Kitchen (Cooking)
Sweet Simple Vegan (Cooking)
Julia Pacheco (Cooking)
Feelgoodfoodie (Cooking)
Anne of all trades (DIY)
The busy brown angel (Gardening)
Gardening and Homesteading
Girl in the Woods  I just found her channel last week, but it was too interesting to leave out.  Usually I don’t like homesteading YouTubers because they focus on the aesthetics, but I’ve actually learned a lot about off-grid living just from watching a few of her videos.
HannahLeeDuggan  She bought a property with a run-down cabin a few years back.  Before that, she was living in a van and selling handmade clothes online.  I can’t say I’ve learned much about van life or homesteading from her videos, but I haven’t given her a fair chance yet.  Last I checked, she was planning on documenting the process of fixing up and weather-proofing her cabin.
Learn Something
Answers in Progress  This channel is run by three people, two of which are women.  They answer random questions with a surprising amount of research and interviews with professionals.
The Take The Take claims to be “ the leading female-led entertainment analysis channel on TV, Movies & Pop-Culture”
Cheyenne Lin  Cheyenne focuses on feminist analysis and film analysis through a feminist lens.
Jessica Chou  She isn’t active anymore but she has some basic videos on car maintenance.
Micarah Tewers Micarah sews a combination of beautiful and insane clothes.  I’ve never tried to recreate any of her patterns but she’s so entertaining to watch.  She made fake eyelashes out of her dog’s hair and that’s not even the craziest thing she’s done on her channel.
Since this is intended to be a discussion, I’m also including a list of channels I’d like to find that are usually male dominated.
Game News and Lore I like watching lore videos for games like the Fallout series, RDR2, and TES.  So far, the only female gamers I’ve seen on YT are overly sexualized and don’t make the content I’m looking for.
Food Science There are a few channels that break down food science like Adam Ragusea and Kenji Lopez-Alt.  The closest female equivalent is How to Cook That, but it’s not quite what I’m looking for and she primarily posts baking videos.
I’ve been watching a lot of Ethan Chlebowski’s videos lately because he makes meal formulas and focuses on high protein meals.  If anyone knows who I’m talking about, I’d love to see female-run channels that make similar content.
Gardening and Homesteading  I want channels that actually teach me something new and don’t focus on pseudoscience or religion.

Poise & Progress: The Game Plan
So in my last blog post (which was also my first might I add) I mentioned that I adore anything relating to leveling up and becoming a femme fatale. And so today I’m choosing to become a part of what I adore.
Here, I’m laying out my goals and plans on how I will achieve these goals. I’ve decided to categorize them based on the areas of my life that I would like to elevate. I will add that this is neither an original idea or layout. I was inspired by a blog here on tumblr that I’ve been following for a while. (@boujeeceo - they haven’t been active for a while though but you can look through their page of course! I don’t gatekeep.)
Okay, let’s get started with my goals shall we?
One Time Goals:
Save 5k
Finish my modeling website
Buy a vlogging camera
Create 3 Sources of income
Start my social media management/marketing business
Open my clothing boutique
Have my own skin care line here in The Bahamas
To Purchase:
Smile direct club
New bedroom furniture and closet storage (my bedroom needs a SERIOUS makeover)
New Wardrobe essentials (a little difficult considering my personality changes every three months but I think now that I’m laying it all out and building my dream persona it may get easier to manage)
Health & Fitness
Start a workout routine
At home pilates (gyms make me uncomfortable for many reasons)
Daily 30 minute jogs
Healthier diet (wholesome, plant based?)
Intermittent fasting?
Cut out meat again?
Add more fruits and vegetables to my diet
Create a meal plan and meal prep on Sundays?
Solid Sleep schedule
Get at least 7 hours of sleep daily (I’m struggling with the idea of this because I feel as though in order to be successful sooner I have to sacrifice some hours of sleep)
Take vitamins daily
Beauty:
Build a solid skincare routine & be consistent with it!
Practice my makeup skills
Learn how to install and style my own wigs
Finances
Fix my relationship with money!!
SAVE & BUDGET
Increase Income
Work/Career
Start a side hustle that I can scale into a remote/work from home business that brings in more than my current 9-5 does.
Relationships:
Making more friends with the same interests as me and ones that have successfully achieved for themselves the lifestyle that I see for myself so that I can learn from them. This also means evaluating my current friendships and putting some distance between me and those that aren’t working on growth.
Spirituality
Strengthen relationship with God
Read 1 chapter of the Bible Daily
Continue to explore my spirituality
Meditate daily
Socials:
The girlies on every social media platform say that the best way to remain consistent and to be successful when it comes to social media is by niching down. I’ve been working on what my niche could be, based on the type of content that I like to consume and also the type of content that I will be able to post the most given my current location, income, and budget.
I’m leaning towards: LIFESTYLE | FASHION | BEAUTY
Youtube
Start posting again. It’s that simple, I know it is.
Hit 500 subscribers by New Years (Currently 292 - All of my past videos are private right now as I’m rebranding)
Meet monetization requirements (500 subscribers, 3 videos within 90 days and 3000 watch hours)
Instagram
Hit 5k followers by New Year’s Eve (Currently 4,026)
Create a solid social media strategy & content calendar
Skills
Complete my social media marketing course
Learn a new language (currently learning italian seeing that my boyfriend is an old Italian man loll)
Habits:
Drink a gallon of water daily
Read more books
Form daily routines
Hobbies:
Modeling
Build my portfolio
Book more runway stuff
Travel for modeling
Hobbies that I’d like to start:
Tennis/Golf: I would like to have a physical hobby that can also keep me in shape. And also somewhere that affluent individuals in my community enjoy hanging out.
Traveling: This one feels like a dead giveaway. Of course I want to start traveling more.
Horseback riding: I used to do it when I was younger and volunteering at a nearby stable. Learning to ride was a requirement but I didn’t stick around long enough to actually get good at it.
Cooking & Baking (It’s recently become a dream of mine to host a fancy thanksgiving dinner) My family has never really been the baking type and traditional Bahamian meals are great and all but I would like to explore the art of cooking.
I think for now this is a pretty extensive list of goals and aspirations even though in my head it feels like I’ve only scratched the surface. I’ll be going into more details on different aspects of these things here of course!

if you struggle w trying to sleep when you're really hungry, watch cooking yt shorts. i swear hear me out. but first do NOTTT try it on tiktok cause the algorithm catches up so incredibly quick and itll jumpscare you with food in your fyp every now and then while youtube is way easier to go unnoticed, and the thing is i stroooongly advise to watch many short content of different kinds of food in one sitting. like bingewatch a lot of shorts from a recipe channel or smth, bc if you watch only one meal for a long time (like idk a mukbang or even a 10 min video) its easy to end up craving said genre of food, like if its something with chocolate and you know you have chocolate its easier for you to give up and go to the kitchen buuuuut if you scroll, you watch a guy making a chocolate croissant, then a steak, then an earthy stew, then bread, then candy...... youre not going to even have time to develope one specific craving big enough to actually act on it (idk if im explaining myself lol) and at least for me, its like eating w my eyes, it helps very much in sleepless stomach growling nights. if someone ends up reading all this i rlly hope it helps :3

hey i love your music, the retro sound is so cool. how do you make it if you dont mind answering? ive always wanted to make music but i have no idea where i should start
Hi thank you yes I always love sharing anything ever. I use LMMS as my DAW (DIGITAL AUDIO WORKSTATION) because its open sourcec and that's awesome it's sort of finicky and weird but I have learned to have fun with it. I use a bunch of soundfonts mostly older nintendo stuff (there's a very nice general midi n64 one floating around somewhere that I am partial to) because then I don't Really have to worry about sound engineering like the big boys do if I'm just dicking around with stuff like that. https://plugins4free.com/instruments/ < this guy is also your friend for finding funny new sounds.
For actually Getting Started there are sooo many ways to do this. If you feel up to it you can start learning theory from youtube or something but I kind of never bothered and I just know some basics but I do pretty much everything by ear. You can do this too if you want. Anyone can! (And in addition to this LMMS has a function where you can mark scales. I don't use it but I know some people love it. You can always use tools to help because it's good to. I'm just insane and do things the hard way.) I would also reccomend listening to music you like and trying to pick out things they did and copying it/just puzzleing out in your head how it works and untangling all the little elements and how they all work together. I'm obsessed with like, NES era follin brothers stuff/anything Jeroen Tel and it's what got me into making music using chip trackers in the first place and when I get stuck I like to take a break and listen to other stuff I know i like to refresh my brain
Watching youtube videos about stuff can also help you get into the general workflow. Even if the videos are people working in "Nice" software like fruity loops or ableton much of the content in any of the good ones is applicable more generally even if you have to do some translation to jerry-rig it in LMMS Your music WILL sound like ass at first but never let that stop you. I have so many disgusting sounding files and I treasure them and feed them beautiful meals at dinner the same as all my others &and it's important to just mess around and have fun and not get too down if you're dissatisfied with something because music really is just something you pick up on with experience!!!! Always remember to have fun

how has your day been? in as many words as possible pls
wow. aiming for the stars. bold since you know how much I love to talk but I’ll give the people what they want
my day was pretty good all things considered. the things we’re considering is that I worked 3-8 instead of 12-5 today and I don’t even have a show to watch with my family tonight. the bachelorette was crazy last night kallie you would have loved it.
anyways the play by play of my day was I woke up at 9:55 bc my friend has her radio show from 10-12 and I listen as often as I can. but it wasn’t even her on the radio it was some other bitch but I was already awake so I just stayed up even though I was up late last night reading fanfiction and texting bi guy jason and journaling. so I ate my breakfast which was an overripe mango which I ate peel and all over the kitchen sink and gas station potato wedges I got from work two days ago. it was fine. and I watched a youtube video on the barbie movie by a youtuber I’m subscribed to while I ate. but I was still tired and I had enough time to take a nap so I did and let me tell you the last fucking thing I wanted to do was get up but alas I did. and I was hungry so I had a struggle meal (so you could call every meal I have these days) it of an entire can of green beans. I heated them in the microwave ofc but honestly they were fucking delicious.
I left for work a little later than I wanted and that was stressing me out and I started listening to my playlist from last summer and I must have played that shit to death bc I skipped like a million songs before I got to one I could listen to. I got to work and I liked all my coworkers that were there which is a fucking miracle and my three favorite coworkers (the guy my age, the woman who got hired the day before me, and the manager who doesn’t give a shit how much work anybody’s doing and has been perpetuating the wheels vs doors debate for a week) were all there so I was content. even if all the customers were fucking cunts for some reason like idk what was in the air today but people were being such assholes but it was fine bc every time they walked away my coworkers and I would just talk shit about them. btw I didn’t like the woman who got hired the day before me at first but now me and her are like this 🤞 ily sandy. she’s so fucking real and every time I tell her that she’s so real she laughs bc she thinks it’s such a funny phrase. but she literally is I swear to god I would have lost it if I was the only new cashier. but apparently she got a way better training process then me bc she’s constantly like “nobody taught you how to do x or told you that you need to do y? that’s so weird” like yeah sandy it is weird. and both of us have the same irrational fear that every other one of our coworkers hates us but at least we like each other so it’s fine. bottom line I love sandy she’s my best friend and I hope when summer ends and I quit that she goes and finds a better job she deserves it. also both of us got soooooo excited when we saw the new halloween candy display like fuck yeah you know what time it is
all the coworkers were talking about arbys at work and I’ve never even gotten anything other than fries and I was starving and we have no food at home because my family sucks at grocery shopping so I went to arbys and got a french dip sandwich and some mozzarella sticks. the sky was beautiful on the drive home and when I got there my mom was sitting on the couch in the front room crocheting but I opted to be a hermit and eat in my room. I got some grease on my bedspread but it’s fine. I started the new garrett watts video bc I have to watch all of his videos it’s tradition. well it’s usually tradition to drink starbucks while I watch his videos. maybe instead of finishing it while I go through my drafts I’ll watch it tomorrow after work and get myself a lil drink as a treat. bc that tradition started back in 2020 when every thursday after my last online class instead of killing myself like I wanted to I would go and use my years and years of starbucks gift cards to buy myself a lil drink then go on a lil drive and go home and drink my drink while I watched the newest sweet boys (garrett watts and andrew siwicki) podcast episode while I embroidered. anyways after that greasy ass dinner I was feeling like collapsing and dying so I ate half a green bell pepper in the kitchen. and even though that was all like less than an hour and a half ago I’m really fucking hungry again. I literally don’t understand how I’m always so hungry. it’s pissing me off.
since then I’ve just been fucking around on my phone and I think I’m gonna write my diary entry of the day then take my shower (I have to wash my hair boo👎👎👎) then try and go to sleep I’m fucking exhausted. speaking of my diary thanks for asking me this bc I’m probably just gonna copy paste it instead of actually writing the diary entry for today. which I’m ideally gonna write in a week but I’m back to being two weeks behind on my diary again. I knew that was gonna happen with dani visiting and all but it still sucks. hopefully I can get my act together before school starts. thanks!

Ultimate Urban Legend Showdown!
Tumblr media
Fandom: JuJutsu Kaisen Ship: None (GN!reader) Warnings: Slight violence mentioned Summary: Shibuya doesn't exist. You and the first years are able to spend Halloween together. After many recommendations y'all decided to go to Yuji's house and relax the whole time watching scary movies and eating snacks. Your plans are put on a halt when Yuji remembers that he doesn't have a video to post for Halloween and ropes you guys into a horrible idea. . . . This is based off of a meme where Itadori is edited to say in a tweet: "Ima say Candyman 5 times while my homie says Beetlejiuce 3 times and we gon make em fight" Note: This took me over 3.5 hours to make and I am not disappointed in the slightest. I also spent like 50 minutes beta reading it so... Please. Enjoy it. <3
✮ ∴ ∵ ✰ ∵ ∴  ∴ ∵ ✰ ∵ ∴ ✮
You rested down the bowl of popcorn, it was the finishing touch to the coffee table that was littered with loads of candies and snacks. You smiled contentedly at all of the sugary foods you and your friends managed to gather for today. After you let your pride sink in for a little bit, you sat down on the couch in between Nobara and Megumi.
“This is going to be one of the best Halloween parties ever!” Yuji exclaimed, reaching for some popcorn.
“I know, just having me here is already a booster from your previous parties,” Nobara boasted, you chuckled at her joke and hummed in agreement.
Megumi tossed a piece of popcorn at her but she dodged it and you watched as it hit Yuji on the nose causing you to chuckle harder, “Your ego is leaking all over the place.”
Yuji was hosting a Halloween sleepover, for all of the first years, at his home in Sendai. Today was October 30th and you came up with the brilliant idea to stay up past 12am, watching scary movies to celebrate. The three movies on the list were the two ITs, and Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark; all very new movies because you were sure that Nobara and Yuji would fall asleep to a Halloween classic.
“Wait!” Yuji exclaimed, “Before we start the movie can we record an idea I had? I haven’t had time to record a special Halloween video for my viewers yet.”
“You're so dedicated to them,” You mentioned, smacking his hand away as he reached for more popcorn, “I just placed that down, at least wait until the movie starts to dig in.”
Yuji rubbed his hand, “Of course I’m dedicated to them. They are all amazing people, I can’t tell you the last time I received an actual hate comment.”
Ever since joining the occult club, Yuji decided to make a youtube channel where he records his most exciting adventures. After joining Jujutsu High, he was able to gain 500,000 subscribers and have an average of 900,000 views per video. All of the first years have starred in them before and if your teacher, Gojo was in the video–well let’s just say that Yuji would treat you guys out to dinner a lot after those.
You’ve read a few of his comments before and know how much people love his content. His personality, mixed with his humor and the excitement of his videos draw people in and keep them waiting in anticipation for the next video.
“Depends how long it takes,” Nobara asserted, “I want to be able to get through at least two movies without falling asleep.”
“It also depends on what your idea for it is,” you interjected. While Yuji was known for his exciting videos, that also meant that they were extremely outrageous and dangerous ideas. You would love to help and probably earn yourself a few free meals but you weren’t trying to lose a limb while on your day off.
Yuji smiled mischievously, “Well I know this sounds pretty cliche but I was thinking… What if we attempt to summon three scary Halloween spirits; Beetle juice, Bloody Mary, and the Candy man.”
“But they don’t exist,” You interjected, “Everyone knows they are just scary internet stories for kids and teens. Unless you plan on editing a whole bunch, that’s going to be one boring video.”
It didn’t matter that half of youtube had already made videos like this. Even if it failed, which it would, considering these urban legends were nothing but stories, you knew that Yuji’s subscribers would still eat up the content. You weren’t willing to waste your precious time on something guaranteed to fail when you could be sitting in excitement watching three amazing horror movies.
Megumi cleared his throat, “Actually, you're only half correct. The fear from kids, over the years, manifested a lot of those urban legends into actual curses. Though they can’t be ‘summoned’ the way that the internet says, they act almost identical to how they are conveyed.”
Yuji’s eyes lit up and his smile widened, “For real?! That’s great, maybe we could do what I originally had planned then!”
“Wait but only sorcerers are able to see curses. For your normal viewers it’ll just be a bunch of nothingness,” Nobara stated.
“Actually! Since it’s super close to halloween a weird thing happens where curses become visible to everyone! Which isn’t that good of a thing since it’s why we had to work over time exorcising lots of curses in the city before today,” Yuji informed, proud that he remembered all that information.
“Is it even possible to find how to summon them?” You asked.
Yuji opened his mouth to respond but closed it once he realized that he had no clue in the slightest. He glanced at Megumi for help and you sighed, of course Yuji didn’t have this completely thought through. Yuji glanced at Megumi hoping he would help him out. Megumi rolled his eyes but took out his phone, searching for something.
“Here is the database for how to actually summon them. Try not to read them all out for the whole world to hear. I don’t want to be the reason a bunch of your viewers go missing,” Megumi grumbled, handing Yuji his phone.
Yuji thanked him a million times before taking out his phone to get his Youtube app ready, “Is it alright if I make this a livestream instead? Since we’re going to spend the rest of the night watching movies I won’t be able to edit it in time for Halloween.”
Nobara, Megumi and I agreed that it was fine so Yuji started up his live stream and put his phone on the table, making sure to get all of us in the frame. We sat down in silence as Yuji welcomed a few of the early viewers and interacted with them through the chat. After waiting for a few more minutes for the rest of his fanbase to flow in, Yuji started.
“Welcome thrill seekers! How has your spooky month been? If it was anything like mine I’m sure you guys could use a bit more thrill in your life. Well I, Itadori Yuji, is here to grant you all with that! As stated in the title we will be summoning three halloween urban legends. But no! We won’t just stop at that, after we summon then we’ll… drumroll please?”
You and Nobara created a drumroll on your legs and waited for Yuji to do the big reveal.
“Make them fight each other and watch who comes out victorious!” Yuji exclaimed with a smile.
Your jaw dropped, Megumi let out a sigh of disappointment and Nobara turned to him in shock, “What?!”
“Why would they want to fight each other?” You questioned, “What happens if they ignore each other and decide to go after us?”
“I think you're forgetting who I am,” Yuji pointed at his chest, “I, Yuji ‘the instigator’ Itadori, promises you that they will end up fighting, no matter how delicious we look.”
You’ve thought back to all the times you’ve seen Yuji instigate. Between strangers, classmates, enemies; Yuji seemed to be a natural at it. That didn’t guarantee that he’d be able to somehow coerce the curses into fighting each other but you were willing to trust him.
“Alright, I’m down to do it,” You submitted to the idea.
“I guess I’ll do it too.. but if it goes wrong, you two are going to be the ones fighting them,” Nobara groaned.
“Why me!? I didn’t come up with the idea,” You protested.
Megumi sighed, “Of course you couldn’t have come up with a safer idea.”
“Well, I could’ve but, my followers want– no, deserve the excitement! What kind of person would I be to not provide them with that!” Yuji waved Megumi’s phone in front of the camera, “Now, let’s get started!”
“Wait! I have an idea,” You smiled, “Let’s place bets on who we think will win. Each person has to pay 50$ to whoever was right.”
Before you could even call out your bet, Nobara sat up and casted her bet, “I bet on Bloody Mary. Miss girl better not let me down.”
Yuji chuckled, “Nobara’s about to go hands swinging to a whole urban legend if it disappoints her.”
“I think Candy Man is going to win,” You shrugged, “I mean, he’s pretty basic but out of those three he’s definitely the strongest.”
“I know for a fact Candy Man is going to win,” Yuji agreed with you, “The Goodwill version of the joker, and some fairytale witch don’t stand a chance against him”
“You're underestimating the power of girls,” Nobara trumpetted, “She shall come out victorious.”
You turned towards Megumi, “What about you? Who do you think will win?”
Megumi shook his head, “I’m not participating in this.” “But Megumi,” Yuji whined, “Nothing bad is going to happen I promise!”
Nobara smirked, “I think Megumi is scared.”
“Scaredy cat!” You called out.
“Pussy,” Nobara followed.
“Join us, no balls,” Yuji concluded.
Megumi let out a big sigh before rolling his eyes, “Whatever. I think Beetle Juice is going to win.”
“Well that settles it!” Yuji clapped his hands and grabbed his camera from the table, “Megumi is going to summon Beetle Juice, Nobara will do Bloody Mary, and Y/n and me will do Candy man.”
Everyone searched up the database that Megumi found and went off to their designated places. Nobara to the bathroom, you and Yuji to the backyard and Megumi to the front lawn. After you summoned your spirit everyone was supposed to meet at Megumi which is where the “epic battle” was going to take place.
“Sorry that I can’t get the other two rituals on video,” Yuji said to the camera as you guys walked to the back, “But I promise this one is going to bring enough excitement to last you guys centuries!”
As you walked past Yuji’s kitchen, you grabbed honey, the only extra thing needed for your ritual. You stepped out the back door and felt the cool breeze of the October air, it wasn’t too cold but it wasn’t warm enough to want to be out here for long. Yuji was reading some of the super comments so you decided to get the ritual set up. You squirted the honey into a small circle in the grass, and then made a line leading a bit away from it.
“Who's going to be his target,” You asked.
“I volunteer!” Yuji called out.
Yuji walked over to you with an excited smile on his face. You on the other hand was starting to get nervous. Yuji handed you the camera in exchange for the honey. You pointed the camera at him as he poured lots of honey onto his shoes and connected himself to the line you created. He tossed the almost empty bottle towards his porch and sent you two thumbs up before starting.
“Candy Man, Candy Man, Candy Man. Warheads, Warheads, Warheads,” He chanted.
“Ew, that’s your favorite candy?” You teased, “Maybe he’ll be too scared of you to come.”
Yuji chuckled at your joke and the two of you waited in silence. You were about to mention how long it was taking when you heard Nobara shriek from inside of the house. You whipped your head towards it as your eyebrows flew up your forehead.
“I think Nobara’s ritual w- HOLY SHIT!”
You turned back to Yuji just in time to see him dodge a hook coming straight for his head. Your jaw dropped as you stared in shock at the huge man towering over Yuji. He was a middle aged dark skinned man with bees swarming around him and had a brown leather coat on. Yuji ran to you,  grabbed the camera out of your hand and pulled your other wrist towards the house.
“Holy shit, holy shit. It actually worked,” Yuji muttered as he pulled you through the house. The front door was open when you reached it and you saw Nobara standing at the edge of the lawn.
“Oh my-” You noticed the lady wearing a white gown splattered with blood and black hair running towards her.
“Tell me you guys are seeing this,” Yuji commented into his camera, aiming it towards Nobara as he pulled you outside, “Nobara, where’s Megumi?”
Nobara lunged out of the way just as the lady leaped to grab at her, “How the fuck would I know, can’t you see I’m a little busy myself here?”
“Come here darling,” The lady like curse rasped out, “You look so young. You’d give me back so much of my youth.”
“Oh hell nah,” Nobara screeched, ducking between the curse’s legs to evade her attack, “Yuji can you speed up whatever you had in mind? This lady is a major creep.”
You turned back towards the house and noticed that the man wasn’t behind you. You spun your head around, looking frantically for him, but he was nowhere to be seen.
You pulled away from Yuji’s grip, worried by your revelation, “Where did the Candyman go?”
Yuji turned back and looked over your shoulder. A look of confusion arose on his face and he spun around, unable to find his attacker. You didn’t have much time to question that though because there was the sound of footsteps getting closer from the street. Megumi was running towards the house and behind him was a man in a striped outfit, and crazy green hair.
“You can’t run forever kid,” The weird man called out to Megumi, as he approached the house.
You couldn’t help but giggle a little bit, the scene unfolding in front of you was hilarious. Nobara was leeping to and fro, trying to avoid a lady who hadn’t heard of a hair cut in her life; Megumi was being chased by someone who tried to do a closet cosplay of the joker; and Yuji… well for now he was just getting it all on camera but his socks must be getting really sticky from the honey.
“Boo.”
You were thrown out of your giggly mood and your instincts led your feet forward at full speed as a deep voice boomed behind you. You screeched as you ran past Yuji, almost knocking him down in the process. You heard him let out a little yelp before he ran at a slightly turned angle, heading straight towards Nobara.
“Megumi! Run to Nobara,” He yelled out as the Candy man started to chase him.
“Why did you choose me out of everyone,” Nobara cried out, “I swear on my life, if one of these things so much as lay a hand on me I will kill you Yuji!”
You put a hand over your chest and tried to stop the heart attack that you almost got as you watched the scene unwrap. It looked like it was straight out of a scooby-doo episode. The three curses clashed together and your three classmates ran around them and towards you, leaving their attackers in a heap on the ground.
Yuji focused the camera onto the heap as they tried to get up. Bloody Mary was the first to get off of her knees but before she could fully extend herself, she was yanked down by Beetle Juice, who hopped up like a spring.
“Damn,” called out Yuji, “Chivalry really is dead, isn’t it.”
Beetle Juice ignored his comment and started towards us, but suddenly tripped. The Candy Man was the culprit this time, wrapping his hook around the green haired man's ankle.
“That isn’t how you treat a lady,” He spoke in the same deep voice, giving you goosebumps. If they all were capable of speaking, they must’ve been special grades.
In an instant the hook was snatched off the curse’s arm and was thrown towards the street where it landed with a clink on the cold concrete. Beetle Juice was standing again, smiling maniacally down at the man in leather. Yuji’s eyes lit up as he saw the perfect chance for his video occur in front of him.
 “See if that was me,” He pointed towards the Candy Man, “I wouldn’t take that level of disrespect, especially from a crazy ass looking man.”
The dark skinned man grunted as he stood up and you tensed up, ready to run if he even turned in your direction. To your surprise, he instead took a huge swing at Beetle Juice, hitting him on his cheek, sending him flying into the street. Megumi’s eyes widened, Nobara’s breath hitched, your jaw dropped, and Yuji smiled in triumph.
“N-no way he actually did that,” Nobara mumbled, “What kind of special powers do you have, Yuji?”
“I told you! I’m a master instigator,” Yuji boasted and thanked a random viewer for a gift.
Bloody Mary pushed past the Candy Man and was staring dead into Nobara’s soul. You heard her let out a little squeal and you got into a defensive position. Out of the three curses that were in front of you, she had to be the easiest one to fight and you're sure that Nobara was tired of running and jumping around.
“Not even a thank you for standing up for her?” Yuji quizzed aloud, “What a bitch, you should put her in her place.”
“Excuse me,” Nobara said lightly, punching his shoulder, “What is that supposed to mean.”
Yuji immediately started to explain himself to Nobara and you tuned out the commotion as you watched Bloody Mary fall backwards as the Candy Man pulled her by her messy, but long, black hair. She immediately stood back up and kneed him where the sun didn’t shine, causing him to grunt and double over.
“Yikes,” You heard Megumi mumble.
“Don’t touch my hair, you ape,” Bloody Mary hissed at the man that was crouched over in pain.
Yuji gasped louder than necessary, “Racially motivated?”
“What? No, I called him that because he’s a filthy man with no self control,” Bloody Mary said.
“Mhm, yep. That’s what they always say,” Yuji agreed sarcastically.
Before Bloody Mary could properly explain herself, Beetle Juice came sprinting and jumped into her, sending both of them flying into the Candy Man. Once on the ground, they started to fight with each other full force, switching between targets.
“Nice hit! Damn, that was cold. Sock ‘em just like that!” Yuji exclaimed in excitement, egging on the fight.
“How did this end up actually working,” Megumi sighed and shook his head in disappointment.
“I.. I’m not sure but the fight actually isn’t that bad to watch,” You replied, finding yourself silently cheering for your curse to win.
“Come on. Mary!” Nobara called out, “I know you tried to kill me and all but slay the day girlfriend! Beat those guys into the ground!”
You cupped your hands over your mouth and allowed your voice to be amplified as you cheered, “Beat their asses Candy Man! Shove your fist so far up their asses that they can taste it!”
“Ayoo,” Yuji laughed, “They aren’t wrong though, you got this man!”
Bloody Mary was thrown at least 15 feet in the air and spun around multiple times before landing right in front of your feet. Before you could even react, she sprang up and ran back into the fight like a wild animal.
Nobara pumped her fist into the air, “That’s right! You show ‘em who's boss!”
You turned towards Megumi, “Aren’t you going to show some support for your fighter!”
He shook his head, “I regret my choices. I may have let you guys drag me into this but you will not catch me cheering for that wreck of a man.”
“Wow, not even your own sponsor likes you,” Yuji chuckled, pointing at Beetle Juice.
As if on cue, the Candy Man got his hook back from the street and ran towards the man in the striped suit. He slammed him into the ground and shoved his hook repeatedly into Beetle Juice’s head until the hook went straight through his skull and protruded out the other side. His body went limp and the Candy Man tossed him into the street, allowing his hook to go along with his body.
“Holy shit that was graphic, I’ll have to go back through and sensor that,” Yuji gasped, “Sorry y’all who are viewing this live. For the youtube admins watching, that is totally fake blood and they are just really good at acting.”
“There goes my money,” Megumi sighed, turning away from the disintegrating body that was once his fighter.
You turned your attention back to the fight and watched as Bloody Mary wrapped her thighs around the Candy Man’s neck and started to squeeze and turn. The Candy Man struggled for a little bit before he let out a loud and inhumane scream and his head popped off his body, leaving behind a neck stump where blood spurted from.
“Damn, what a lucky way to die,” Yuji sniffed, wiping his eyes, “Squeezed to death by some amazing thighs.”
Nobara started to clap and jump up and down, “I knew I wasn’t wrong to pick you,” she exclaimed in excitement, “I’ve just made 150$! Yay!”
You sighed and shook your head, “Man, he was such a promising candidate too.” “Tell me about it,” Yuji sighed along with you, “He was doing so well in the beginning.”
“On the other hand,” You turned to Megumi, “Did you even think he stood a chance?”
Megumi shook his head, “I only chose him so you guys would be satisfied. He was too crazy and not logical enough to win that fight.”
You giggled, he’s right. Beetle Juice looked comically crazy, so much so that it ruined the scary aspect of him. Your train of thought was cut short by a loud banshee-like scream coming from Bloody Mary as she rushed at you guys. Her hair swayed as she sprinted towards you guys with a slight limp.
In shock from the shrill noise you stood frozen for a second. Suddenly Megumi’s Totality dog leaped from the shadows of the night and ate her head in one bite. Her body fell onto the ground and twitched a bit before it disintegrated into dust.
Nobara let out a pained breath, “You will be missed Mary. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. My closet shall always remember you.”
“Woah, close one there Megumi,” Yuji patted his friend on the back, “Thanks for the save.”
You let out the breath you were holding and held out a hand, beckoning the dog to come to you. You cooed praises to it and patted its body, embracing the warmth from it. You didn’t realize how cold it had gotten, now that the adrenaline was wearing off and the excitement was over you just wanted to go back inside and fall asleep to a movie.
“Alright, I hope you guys enjoyed this Halloween special!” Yuji continued with his outro, “I’ll see you dare devils next time. Itadori, out.”
Yuji lowered his camera and gave everyone a thumbs up, “Thanks so much guys. From what I saw the fans loved this. I’ll give you guys a share of what I made. I think this video made us each enough money to buy a few items from Gojo sensei’s wardrobe.”
“Good, at least there was a reason for me almost dying,” Megumi huffed, heading back towards the house.
The dog dissipated from underneath your arms and you got up with a sigh, following Megumi into the house. As you stepped in you were glad that all of the snacks were still organized on the table and seemed untouched.
“Don’t forget each of you guys owe me 50$!” Nobara called out, skipping past you in delight.
“How could we,” You commented, “It’s not like you’ve mentioned it at least 10 times in the past minute.”
“Someone’s salty they didn’t win,” Nobara teased.
Yuji shut the doors and Megumi summoned his totality dog to check the house for any curses that might’ve resulted from the rituals. After the house was searched and secured, the four of you sat on the couch, exhausted from the excitement that just transpired. Yuji pressed play on IT, and grabbed the bowl of popcorn.
“I wish it was always this easy to get rid of three special grade curses,” Nobara announced as she got comfortable.
You all hummed in agreement and relaxed, tuning into the movie…
~~~
“Yuji, your feet stink of honey. Please. Go wash them off.”
Erin Barbera-Social Media Communication Blog Post 3
The current state of social media ethics: what trends are happening in the industry? What are two current cases related to social media ethics? Outline the current code of ethics for social media by a professional organization you would be interested in joining as part of their social media staff.
Ethical trends among social media are self-explanatory as they are set for users in the application guidelines, but also as they are common courtesies of our society. For example, endorsers letting their audiences know they are being paid to promote something is important and commonly practiced online. However, many smaller social media brands are also churning out ads that read as though they are not an ad, with sneaky disclaimers at the bottom of the caption or hiding in the video itself. As of the end of February, two cases regarding social media ethics, NetChoice v. Paxton and Moody v. NetChoice, are battling to determine if states have the right to decide whether social media platforms can block or remove inappropriate or offensive content. (Fung, CNN) A professional organization I’d be interested in joining’s social media staff would be an online brand, Chain Cult. Chain Cult is a slow fashion brand that produces fashionable pieces using primarily chainmail. As a fashionista and lover of hardware in my day-to-day style, I would like to work with this company. On Instagram, where the organization primarily advertises, the code of ethics states that users must post their authentic content, not spread bigotry such as racism or homophobia, not spread sexual content, not sell drugs or alcohol on the platform, or promote the usage of such substances.
Brands/professionals with strong social media ethical codes: what brands are utilizing proper social media ethical practices? Are there any professionals that you feel practice strong ethical behavior on social media? Support your choice with evidence. What are some takeaways you can bring forth in your own practices?
One social media professional who comes to mind personally is a YouTuber named Cody Ko. Cody has been a YouTuber for about a decade and has grown to become a well-known creator for most of Gen Z as he posts commentary videos and is a light entertainer. Cody tends to have advertisements in all of his videos and does a great job of promoting the product honestly and genuinely. He never goes too over the top and even I have been influenced by his partnership with HelloFresh meal kits. In a video of his, I watched recently, he was raving about a product he was reacting to and asking them to sponsor him. This also gives me a little more hope for his ethics for he would want to promote something he enjoys using himself. With this, I would feel responsible to only promote products I also used and felt were worth promoting. If I were in a professional social media position, I would be sure to genuinely enjoy the product before advertising as I wouldn’t want to subject audiences to a faulty product. Doing so could come back at me negatively, say if a product were to have negative side effects or be recalled, and I blindly advertised to a large audience.
Key concepts and issues: what main concepts do you think are necessary to adhere to for your own personal conduct online?
The main concepts that are necessary for me to adhere to personally are not cyber-bullying or sharing too much. As someone who was bullied growing up both in school and online, I know the effects that comments can have, especially on young minds. Social media is flooded with little children, unfortunately, and social media is like cigarettes for the brain! Pursuing the internet, specifically Instagram, commenters do not hold themselves back from saying anything on anything, and this is a given, but posters do just the same! In my role on the internet, I think it is necessary to avoid aggressive and confrontational behavior online with a screen. You never know who is behind said screen. Secondly, I tend to post a lot on social media. As someone with a small and intimate following, I don’t see this as an issue right now because my audience is primarily people who are close to me. However, in the future, if I were to publicize my account into more of a business page, I will need to be aware of who is watching me.
What to do and what not to do: what main concepts do you feel strongly against and want to make sure you avoid on social media?
Some main concepts I feel strongly against are spreading misinformation, general intolerance, and giving credit where it is due. With how fast people find out new information and can spread it, a majority of the information we learn online is not credible or true. Especially after taking this class, I need to avoid spreading misinformation and do better at finding out where the information is coming from and looking deeper into the topics. Generally, I feel intolerance should be avoided. Social Media has created these bubbles of thought and it has isolated peoples’ thoughts and opinions, due to the algorithm. Lastly, giving credit where credit is due is a universally important ethical standard I live by. Social media makes it so easy to recycle peoples’ work, so I avoid not giving credit and always finding out the source.
Bullet point 5-10 core concepts that you will follow as a practicing social media professional. Include citations that you used for sources/supports for this.
Tempo Dilemmas occur because the exchanges in social media happen quickly, with an increased risk of making mistakes. (https://www.bi.edu/research/business-review/articles/2020/07/ethical-dilemmas-of-social-media--and-how-to-navigate-them/ )
Integrity Dilemmas are concerned with how easy or difficult it is to remain committed to personal values and moral standards when representing one’s organization online and being tempted or pressured to act against these.(https://www.bi.edu/research/business-review/articles/2020/07/ethical-dilemmas-of-social-media--and-how-to-navigate-them/ )
Thinking About Writing a Sims Retrospective...
Tumblr media
I started playing The Sims when I was 11 years old. The original game was at the end of its run. So, I had access to pretty much all of the packs and gameplay. Rosebud was a godsend for unlocking the fun gameplay immediately. I remember having little pixel people making out on a bear rug in a log cabin while nervously looking over my shoulder to make sure my dad wasn’t watching. There was another time when I used an external editing program to try and recreate the Teen Titans from the 2003 animated series with a horrible air-brushed, MS Paint-esque result. Of course I showed my friends because I was proud of my jerry-rigged custom content. Beast Boy ate turkey because “there weren’t many vegetarian options.” Every meal option, outside of some buffet options, Makin’ Magic spells, pizza, or microwaved Hungry Man looking lasagna, was salad. A very pathetic looking salad.
The most in-depth game play I really remember doing was trying to work a Sim up the celebrity star ranks in Superstar. When I revisited this expansion 20 years later, I seriously questioned how much patience I had for certain aspects of this game when I was younger. In the most recent go I had at a celebrity Sim, I managed to get him as far as 3.5 stars before I went “fuck it” and started grinding for the materials needed to achieve the Instant 5 star celebrity Makin’ Magic spell. Within the next day, my Sim was decked out in a cowboy-inspired fit with gaudy tassels on his coat and the coveted star floating above his head.
I’m nostalgic for this game. And when I can actually get the original Sims to work, I embrace how janky some elements are and engage with gameplay as if it’s still the early aughts.
Tumblr media
I’m an older Sims fan. I only play Sims, Sims 2, and Sims 3. There’s been a few Sims 4 packs that seriously tempted me, especially the Paranormal one. So...I have this ridiculous itch to see how a Reigen Arataka Sim would handle a Bonehilda that’s more interested in finding a booty call than housework. But I’m not so tempted that I’ll overlook EA’s list of scummy, money-grubbing moves: making a DLC that requires DLC, divvying up gameplay into smaller and smaller game packs than any previous iterations, releasing content day 1 riddled with bugs to the point its unplayable and refusing to fix anything.
After seeing Reckowski make a retrospective and news about Project Rene, I’ve been debating whether or not I want to make my own retrospective video on The Sims. It’s either a Sims retrospective that’ll resurrect my YouTube shenanigans or a “Is Reigen Arataka sexy?” video and the latter has been harder for me to write anything other than an unfinished essay for thus far, hahah. And honestly, I think retrospectives from older Simmers are a good idea period. Younger players deserve the depth and variety of gameplay that older Sims games hinted at having. It’s more than possible now. I have good reason for being cautiously optimistic about Life by You and the development around Paralives.
Granted, I’m also hoping Sims 5 crashes in a fiery, spectacular mess similar to what Sim City did in 2013. So, I’m not sure if I’m the best person to make that kind of starry-eyed, rose-tinted glasses video when I also just want to carve up EA’s micro-transaction nonsense like a crazy person carving up a turkey with a chainsaw.
Youtube’s digest: A twenty-first century cookbook
Tumblr media
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times… Remember when you had to tune in to catch an elusive show starring Julia Child and her sophisticated recipes, or in France, Maïté and her folksy wisdom? Right, me neither to be fair, but now you can just tune in onto   Youtube! This time in my youtube digest, we’re going to explore the evolutions of cooking videos and then I will tell you about my digital “bonnes addresses”!
So, cookingtainment has been a thing for quite a while actually. It might even surprise you to learn that the first cooking shows were broadcasted on radio up until the 1940s! The first show recorded in the US was The Betty Crocker Cooking School of the Air, which started in 1924. Interestingly enough, this goes to show that cookingtainment was intertwined with advertising since its beginnings (and vice versa, the first cinematographic ads were for bottled water), because the show was centered around Betty Crocker, who was both a fictional character and a brand. However, this genre really took off with Julia Child’s magnum opus The French Chef, which debuted in 1963.
There are countless cooking shows, but most of them revolve around common traits, which can stack on one another or be self-sufficient. For instance, you have shows that tend to be more instructional, those which hinge on celebrity chefs (like Kitchen Nightmare), the competition shows, and what has been called “food porn”, which relies entirely on excessive displays of food. This later form was adapted to the early(ish) era of Youtube, no celebrity was there yet and instructional videos were not well produced enough, not spectacular enough, they lacked, so to say, the recipe for viralness - and viralness was the name of the game back in those days.
Thus sprouted channels like Epic Meal Time, wherein the sole interest lied in humongous amounts of food to cook and eat - watching this in 2011 felt like watching weird homemade bacchanales. Eventually, youtube became more tamed and advertis..uhm viewer-friendly, and thus appeared channels like Binging with Babish. Then started the “fake instructional-true entertainment form”. It’s a rather natural developpement if you think of it, cooking something has in-and-of-itself a narrative structure (i.e. a beginning, some obstacles, and an end). But it's not about cooking a random dish, whether it’s in the DIY style of Babish or the laid-back professionals over at Bon Appetit, it's about cooking something people can’t really make at home to make them dream and salivate and like and subscribe. Hence, this kind of content appears relatable, while at the same time being pure entertainment ; despite being highly commodified it’s brilliant!
Despite the inescapable commodification that lies within all creation under the capitalist mode of production, I am still an avid viewer of cooking shows and would gladly share them with you! First off, you’ve got the wackiness of Ordinary sausage. Have you ever wondered what.. well.. anything would look and taste like in sausage form? Wonder no more, over at Ordinary sausage some guy realized that dream for you! Now if you’re looking for really good, truly feasible dishes, then I’d advise you to check out two channels, one being J Kenji Lopez-Alt’s channel. He’s a great cook, a food researcher and a teacher of his craft. He often cooks while wearing a go-pro on his forehead showing you how to make a meal from A to Z, with many useful tips and bits of knowledge for many recipes. If you want some middle eastern food, then Middle Eats is a channel for you. Some recipes may still require a bit of effort, but they try their best to offer easy and makeable recipes.
Bon appétit ! PS : I really haven’t even scratched the surface of the subject, especially when it comes to political discourse around food and food entertainment. If you want to go further, I highly recommend those two essays : Cooking Food On The Internet For Fun And Profit - Folding Ideas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EXVrzOACv4 Why Are Cooking Shows? - We're In Hell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9i3zKU8Q6ZI William Renard
