That, and, he just likes the sound of it, even if you're mad at him, crying, laughing, or whispering something to him, he can't get enough.

C = Comfort (what they find most comforting about you)

Hand holding. It reminds him how real you are and that you're not a figment of his imagination or an angel who he was blessed with, but a real person who loves him more than anything.

D = Domestic (would they like a domestic life with you?)

He won't admit it, but he's sort of scared for the future. I mean, when has he ever thought of marriage or kids or growing old? Or even just waking up to each other or making dinner? It's a nice thought, and he keeps it in the back of his mind when he needs to be motivated, but otherwise he lets his fear get the best of him.

E = Early Mornings (bed head? tired? fully awake?)

In the morning, Wayne's hair is super messy. Bro woke up from sleeping for 5 hours like he woke up from 87 hours. Seriously, his hair is all over the place, he can barley open his eyes, and he doesn't speak, just mumbles and furrows his brow to say no.

F = Fights (how often do you guys fight?)

Sadly, with your worry and his tendency to hurt people, there's a bit of fighting. You're always worried he's going to end up dead one day over something not serious, and he's always worried you're going to leave him. Fights never get too far though, and even if it takes time, you guys both apologize or he does first, depending on what it's about.

G = Gratitude (how grateful are they for you)

Coming from a really bad place at home, losing his mother and father, one who left and one who passed, Wayne has learned to find things in the world he really likes and protect them with all he has. That being said, you're like a beacon of hope to him, something to fight for, and he's forever grateful for that.

H = Hugs (are they a hugger?)

Wayne's not really a hugger, but he does like giving hugs when he really needs them. He's very awkward in terms of PDA so there's not much he'll do out in public, but in private he'll hug you like his life depends on it.

I = Inspiration (does being with you change them?)

100% yes, Wayne was stone cold hearted before, with his true golden heart hidden under layers and layers of angst, but now with you he's a changed man.

J = Jealousy (how jealous they get)

Wayne didn't really know what he got himself into when he started dating an attractive person such as yourself but he quickly picked up that guys and girls would glance at you for a little too long and that made him angry. Sometimes he gets insecure about how people look at you, and other times he just holds your hand and glares at the person and that's that. I'd rate his jealousy at an 8/10.

K = Kisses (where and how many?)

Wayne's actually very shy and a sucker for intimacy, so he doesn't kiss you a whole lot when the moment isn't right. When it is though, he really likes kissing your lips and neck, sometimes even the back of your hand or shoulder. Really, just everywhere, but he doesn't like a casual peck.

L = Little Things (what are some little things they do?)

He does the road thing. The road thing is where if you're walking on the side of the street closest to...the street...Wayne will move you so that he's on the dangerous side. He also holds umbrellas for you when it rains and even has the majority of it protecting you, making his shoulder get wet in turn.

M = Marriage (how it would go about)

Wayne would be the one to propose, or tell you he wants to marry you. If he tells you, it's completely out of the blue or right after he almost died, in a sort of exasperated tone with blood and bruises kissing his face, holding onto you for dear life. You think he's joking, but then he tells you he means it.

N = No (something they don't like about you)

He absolutely hates when you talk bad about yourself. Usually, he lets it go when it's just a negative fly by comment, but when you say something about not being attractive enough, especially for him, that's when he loses it. Sometimes it breaks out into arguments because he's determined to change your view on yourself, or at least how you think he sees you.

O = Obsessions (something they really really like)

Wayne really likes collecting post cards. You thought it was weird until he explained that he likes finding them so he can write what he liked most about that place and being with you. He also just likes the 'pretty pictures' on the front.

P = Patience (how patient do you have to be with them?)

Wayne's always getting beat up. So you have to be extremely patient when he comes back with his nose broken, hands cut up, and blood running down his eyebrow. Sometimes you choose not to say anything about his wounds, and other times you're the one cleaning them up.

Q = Quitting (are they susceptible to calling it quits?)

NO. Never. Wayne would only ever think about breaking up with you if he's fully convinced he's a danger to you.

R = Romance (how they act around you)

Wayne's not a romantic, but he sure as hell tries. Meaning, he picks up weeds that look like flowers and gives them to you and says that he thought of you when he saw them! How cute.

S = Smitten (how in love they are with you?)

This dude feels like he's on cloud nine when he's with you. His whole world turns pink. He love love loves you even if he doesn't show it all the time.

T = Thrill (how is it being with them)

Being with Wayne means running from people he's pissed off, in debt to, or just escaping narrow situations that might get you both killed. There's always the question of 'whose finger did you steal now?!' because he also just likes taking things to prove a point. You've also jumped a few fences, which you've never thought you'd do in your life. Pretty thrilling.

U = Understanding (are they understanding or stubborn?)

He doesn't understand a lot of things since he was so sheltered before, but he really tries. If you're upset, he'll give you space, but after a short bit he'll ask you what's wrong and try and figure something out. He only gets stubborn when you don't talk to him, because then he's really in the dark and he hates it.

V = Valentine (how they are on that holiday)

With barley any money to scrape by with, Valentine's day isn't very classy. Maybe you two sneak into someone's yard and watch a romantic movie through an unsuspecting family's window, or go out for dollar burgers, but when night comes he'll take you under the stars and lay there with you talking about your future. So sadly, no chocolates or red roses. If he finds the flowers, they're most likely damaged or stolen, but the smile on his face is worth it.

W = Water (do they like swimming?)

Wayne isn't too fond of pools or the beach simply because he doesn't show his body often. But if somehow he ends up in one, he'll awkwardly splash around kinda or watch you swim.

X = Xtra (extra headcanon)

Sometimes, if you two are walking down a street and see a stray cat or dog, Wayne will bend down and try and pet it. There's a 50% chance that animal will accept his affection, and once it does, he'll look at you with a big dopey smile and say it's ok to pet it too, making sure it's safe for you too.

Y = Yearning (what they're like when you're not around)

If you get a job where most of your hours in the day are taken up by it, Wayne gets really upset and bored. Sometimes he lets his boredom get the best of him and you come home to see several holes in the walls with him holding his favorite hammer and smiling. If you ask what he's doing, he'll say 'redecorating' and then ask what you think of a few paintings. He's like a sad puppy when you're not there.

Z = Zeal (will they go to the ends of the earth for you?)

Best believe, if something ever happens to you and you get taken away from him, everyone's going to die in that room. Everyone. No clip should be left unemptied. Seriously though, yes, Wayne would go to the ends of the earth for you even if it means his own life.

hii this is maybe a little random but i'm having a bit of a rough night and it got me wondering if you have any favorite comfort fics among the ones you have written (or read, for that matter, i'm just a sucker for your writing)

hi anon im really sorry this is late and i hope your night got a little bit better :( but i'll still throw some recs out!!

very very long, but [under the sun] itself always gives me comfort? something about the world just feels very cozy and i've heard from other people they consider it a comfort fic. i don't think you Have to read the initial parts to understand the individual parts (it gives world-building + reader gets dubbed 'mouse' there as a nickname that pops up throughout individual fics), but i personally think seokmin, jun and joshua have some of the more softer parts personally? jun's does have to deal with reader getting injured, so heads up for that.

i wrote the hyung line [comforting reader when they're upset] earlier this year. its very short and sweet, but it fits what you're looking for.

most recently, i had a maknae line fic [to be together (even when it's hard)] since i was going through a bad bout of depression and wanted the comfort.

there's also a full group drabbles post of comforting them which is kinda in the same vein, but its just a lot of [holding them].

this ones admittedly not very inclusive but on the off chance its what ur dealing with, i wrote a vernon fic while i was dealing with some accidental biphobia from a friend. everythings all good now, but i needed the comfort, so i expanded on a nonranghaes drabble i wrote and made it into [of your choosing].

Summary: Neal hurts himself gathering intel for a case while Peter is out of town. Peter is, predictably, not thrilled with the situation when he gets home.

“You’re limping,” Peter said. It was the first thing out of his mouth as he walked through the door. No hi, hello, it’s good to be home. Just “you’re limping”, an accusation and an observation. Neal isn’t even walking, he’s leaning a little too casually against the dining room table, putting almost no weight on his obviously injured leg but looking light as a feather, really. At least he’s pretty sure he looks light. Airy. Very casual. Not like he's about in tears when he puts weight on his foot.

Peter’s been away for three days, a long weekend in Atlantic City with El courtesy of one of her clients as a thank you for a job well done. Peter hates gambling, and Atlantic City makes him far too on edge...he’s working when he’s not, it’s so hard to turn it off in a room full of slot machines and poker tables, but El has good memories from staying in a little hotel off the shore and he figured he could find something to do for a couple of days that didn’t involve throwing his money away and lighting the trash can on fire. He works too damn hard for his money, and the proof of that is standing in his dining room...standing like he’s trying to convince Peter of something.

It doesn’t help that he can see Mozzie sitting with his back to the house out on the back patio, sitting and examining something so thoroughly that he doesn’t even notice that they’ve come inside.

“Excellent deduction, Sherlock,” Neal replies, pushing off of the table and moving toward El to give her a hug. He walks with a pronounced limp that makes Peter almost feel bad for him except he knows damn well that limp didn’t come from anything good. It wasn’t like Neal was out at the park playing a pick up game of basketball with buddies, he was doing something that Peter wouldn’t approve of. Probably something illegal, but he’s willing to entertain the idea that it wasn’t. Sort of.

Peter rolls his eyes at Neal’s flippant response. “Let me rephrase that. Neal, why are you limping?”

“Oh. It’s actually a funny story…”

How many works do you have on AO3?

I'm almost up there with Sapphose-- I've got 141, though I really need to finish tranferring my really old fics from my fanfiction.net account.

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

Those 141 fics give me a grand total of 969,127 words.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

My biggest fandoms are The Penumbra Podcast, Star Trek: Deep Space 9, Welcome To Night Vale (that's an oldie, hot damn) and Les Miserables, with Les Mis being the most recent one I've been active in.

4. Top 5 Fics By Kudos

I'm honestly surprised that Haunting, but not haunted (Penumbra Podcast ghost AU) has overtaken The Issue of Omniscience (WTNV). Just Like an Angel (WTNV Wingfic) ranks just behind those two, then The Case Files of J. Steel (a very very large Penumbra Poscast one-shot collection). What surprised me was I Could Be Your Own Avenging Angel (DS9 alternate take on Empok Nor) making the top five-- apparently that one's gotten some recs lately, which pleases me immensely. The fact that all of these are fairly sexy is not a surprise to me.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I read them all, I squee in delight at them all, but a lot of times I'm just flummoxed about what to say in response. I know theoretically just a quick 'thank you' is appropriate, but it feels... I dunno, trite?

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Listen, I'm an absolute sucker for angst, but I tend to go with bittersweet rather than outright angst in the ending.

Just a Little Wooden Boy (OFMD) is the most recent, and plays hard with the idea of deep hurt turning love into something cold that can't be fixed. (Like a Terrier (Sherlock) has a similar vibe.)

Stay With Me (Wolf 359) just plain tragedy. Eiffel succumbs to the Decima virus, the other humans are forced to flee the station, and so Hera is left to comfort him in his final hours. It's in the same vein as The Way Things End (Supernatural) and Off the Path (Bioshock Infinite) where they're very much about accepting death when it can't be fought anymore-- but in the other two, there's the hope of accompanying your loved one on the other side, where Hera is now just trapped alone with her grief and the body of her friend.

7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I genuinely don't know how you would even go about judging that.

Most of my multichapter fics end with the idea that there's still work to be done-- causes to fight for, mental illness to struggle against, relationship issues to work out. The thing is that they now have a framework for dealing with the problem at hand.

So given that-- Of the Rapture That Impels (Les Miserables) deals with sinking into grief and despair and ends with actually being able to see a light at the end, which is pretty much the epitome of a happy ending in my book.

Skin and Scales (Penumbra Podcast) has the most classically happy ending, I think.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Thank all that is holy, I haven't gotten direct hate on fics since high school-- the fandoms I've been in have been lovely, and anyone who has unkind things to say about them has been polite enough to do it where I don't need to see it.

9. Do you write smut?

Yup.

10. Craziest crossover

I almost never do crossovers, actually. But years ago (so long ago that it hasn't actually been migrated to AO3 yet) I wrote a 9/Labyrinth crossover in which 7 was in fact Sarah, transfigured by the Goblin King in order to save her from the machine apocalypse.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I think they might have been yanked over to wattpad or whatever once or twice. It happens, it gets reported, I move on.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I don't believe so-- or if it's happened, it was long enough ago that I've forgotten.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes. And let me tell you, I am very bad at being a co-writer. The more successful stuff looks less like co-writing and more like parallel play in the same sandbox.

14. All time favorite ship?

I'm with Sapphose here in that I don't have one favorite ship, so much as I have a favorite dynamic. I'm a sucker for damaged, self-loathing characters who are so determined to do right by the person they love that they wind up becoming better (stronger, happier) people for it.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Just one?

Probably A Dynasty of Liars (DS9). I love that story so much, but I genuinely have no idea where it would go next or how I would execute it.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm told that my angst is pretty damn solid, and that I can get voices pretty well.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Scene transitions, and particularly those detailed descriptions where we describe where we're at. It's one of the things I can get away with more in fanfic than in original writing, because a couple references will convey which setpiece we're in so I don't have to do the work. In anything remotely original, that's a much bigger problem.

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I'm in camp 'translate if the POV character knows it', with the addendum that "and they continued to speak in[language]" tends to be much more effective than actually writing long stretches of that other language, particularly if it's one that the writer isn't fluent in. If the reader doesn't know the second language, it conveys about as much as a keysmash. If they do, then you're prone to embarrassing goofs where you translate something badly without knowing.

19. First fandom you wrote in?

Lord of the Rings. A self-insert, Boromir-lives AU.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

Pretty much any longfic that I've actually completed, I think. But lately, I'm partial to A Change of a Bizarre Kind (Les Miserables), because I did some stuff with the POV and structure that I'm really proud of.

angst time :,) n a little comfort at the end bc I'm a sucker

i started thinking abt mc leaving rockstar cove after they get hurt bc of that crazy 'fan' (to the anon who brought it up, YOUBE BROKEN ME<////3)

even though you want nothing to do w him anymore, he'd pay for everything. even if you move out he'll pay for whatever you want and need until you're ready to go back to work

doesnt matter how much money you have, he'd feel so bad and this is the least he can do to relieve his guilt and your troubles.

I think him leaving music is very spontaneous yk that

he took a bit of a break before he tried doing shows again but it just wasn't the same. not like before he met you and definitely didn't feel the same as when you were dating.

so before the last song, he mumbles, only audible because of the mic, that this is rhe last show he's ever doing.

the crowd gasps and murmurs collectively, his crew and manager are freaking out backstage n baxter is prbly cussing him out thru the earpiece bc wtf is he doing? we never talked abt this???

and the last song cove plays is some sad song he wrote :,,)

he's crying in the middle of it, slow tears running down his face and by the end he covers his face, hands shaking and he exhales shakily.

he's in such ruins after everything that happened, and he thought he could move on, but he can't. it's too different. everything is too real now to ignore or play off. it's not simple anymore. it's real and it got dangerous and it's scary and hes.. he's tired.

he'll thank all his wonderful fans for supporting him, for all the love, especially after that stalker.

but through tears he gives a big fuck you to everyone who harassed him and especially you.

the internet totally breaks. the news is bumping for weeks especially with every new piece that comes out

I'm torn between cove deactivating his socials and him just leaving everything as it is.

doesn't touch it unless you ask him to change his bio n pfp and everything.... that crushes him. he cries and cries n it takes so long to delete every post/photo of you/both of you. (he downloads every one, even if he knows he has the photo still.)

the internet breaks again, n if his fans know your socials n you took cove outta your bio/deleted your photos, etc. it just confirms the rumors that you're broken up.

which leads to a few a lot articles n posts n threads abt why you broke up, or fans in ruins bc they liked you together n hoped it wasn't true.

if it gets bad or annoying or whatever, and especially if you ask before he can act altho it wouldn't take long before he makes a statement or post on whatever remaining social he has to "Stay outta our business. leave y/n alone."

and maybe the pap, creepy as always, see you and cove moving things out the house into your car or uhaul depending on how much you run away with (you can take all his left shoes n he wouldn't complain)

n now the photos n articles are circulating like wild fire and cove tries to be civil telling everyone to stfu n get out your business, but somehow he ends up making a dark, pixelated video of him in what looks like the kitchen? cussing out the pap n telling everyone to just stop n fuck off, that you're blowing it up too much n to just stop

it blows over eventually, resurfacing here and there over the years

ik rockstar cove is dramatic n wild n blah blah blah, he's crazy ik stfu I think he's great n hes like the next beyonce in my head i think but yes he is a drama queen and he's still a big crybaby

definitely ends up back w his dad, helping w his shop early on (definitely got caught behind the register once bc some fan made a tiktok captioned "cove fucking holden just rang up my surfboard and stuff im going to FAINT" and now the shop is more busy than usual)

when you run into each other again and catch up, he definitely cries and can't stop feeling bad for not protecting you better. for not doing more even though he did the most whole youbwere together to keep you safe from crazy and delusional fans

please tell him it's not his fault, bc he really did do everything before and after the attack and you'll never regret being w him. he'd blame himself so much and would cry with relief to know you don't hate him

List 10 comfort shows and tag 10 people

I was tagged by @twig-tea (thank you!). This is really difficult because I don't tend to re-watch shows. When I'm obsessed I read fanfic, find FMV's on youtube, and search the tag on Tumblr for gifs and meta lol. I tend to go to books and music for comfort in preference to other media. That being said, here are a few shows that have brought me comfort, that I have re-watched at least once, and that made me cry when I needed that catharsis.

Bad Buddy. Nobody needs me to do a shout out for this show, but I knew I was going to love it from the first teaser trailer, I watched it live from episode one, and I re-watched all episodes released before each new episode dropped. It is also the first BL that I ever shared with an IRL person. It's the perfect mix of fantasy, romance, reality, and comedy.

Until We Meet Again. The heartbreak, the healing, the pain, the inevitability, the love. It gets me every time. I'm a sucker for anything that rips my heart out and then shoves it back in.

Triage. Time loops and time travel and changing ones fate because of love and friendship and light in the darkness and nobody being perfect, but also being able to change and how our lives are made of connections and past circumstances and our choices are influenced by the opportunities we have and what support we get.

It's OK to not be OK. There's a theme here, I know hahaha. Intergenerational trauma and healing, how damaged people can help each other, and the importance of family. I binged this show and there are many scenes that I go back to watch when I'm feeling a certain way. I think this show reminds me a lot of one of my all time favourite stories ever. If you love intergenerational trauma and healing and feeling like a monster and grief and love and family, then please, I beg you, go and find and read Fruits Basket.

Bromance. One of the first Taiwanese dramas I ever watched. I know it can be controversial, but I've enjoyed stories that deal with gender identity since I was a teenager. I've never felt particularly connected to societal expectations for the presentation of my own femininity and I have always felt that gender is unimportant for my personal attraction to people. Having people in stories who are unashamedly loved for themselves, no matter the gender people think they are, or the expectations placed on them because of their gender or gender presentation feel so comforting to me. I really love Coffee Prince for the same reasons. There are also several books and manga that I revisit regularly that have this theme.

Eien no kinou. Yes, it is heartbreaking, but it is so soft and gentle about it. The idea that the universe would conspire to give you time to say goodbye to someone you love is so beautiful.

Old Fashion Cupcake. The unknown influences we have on people, the romance of learning to live not merely exist after losing that for ourselves, people who aren't teenager or young adults having a beautiful love story and finding happiness with each other. It's just very comforting to me.

Leverage. The found family, and making the world a little bit better, and how evil people hurt others not because they care, but because they don't care, how grief colours everything. I think this show is a masterpiece and the way that the episodes mostly follow a heist of the week is also very comforting because I can watch just one episode and not feel like I have to keep watching.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. Oh would you look at that, more trauma! But for all the pain, there is love, and laughter, and healing, and "That's rough, buddy".

Full Metal Alchemist. Yes, Brotherhood is objectively better, but I watched the original anime with my best friends in high school and it has been on my list of forever faves since then. Nothing has ever hit the same emotional devastation as the reveal of what happens to Nina (iykyk). But the love and devotion in this story always wraps me up like a warm hug.

I did not realise I had that much to say about TV shows or how many themes my favourite media have in common XD

Dong Sik’s grabbing onto a wrist even before he comes to. He doesn’t even know why, not at first, until light floods from under his eyelids—and when he opens his eyes, Joo Won’s staring down at him.

Dong Sik releases a breath. His whole chest hurts, like he’d been running for miles on end and had only just been forced to stop. His arms hurt too, and his legs, and his head. Maybe he really had been running—maybe he’d been running for the whole night, and he’d only just remembered to come back to bed.

Except that doesn’t make much sense. Dong Sik isn’t a sleepwalker, let alone a sleep runner—but his chest still rises and falls as though he’d been racing.

“Slow down,” Joo Won says quietly, a warm hand spanning on top of Dong Sik’s chest. As though he’s forcing the breath right back into Dong Sik’s lungs through only touch.

And yet, it still works. The weight settles straight through Dong Sik’s shirt, down through bone and muscle and somewhere, Dong Sik’s heart slows its drumming. “Breathe.”

Dong Sik inhales. He finds Joo Won in the dim light, his eyes shadowed by too few hours of sleep and too many hours of work. “I’m sorry,” he says. “I woke you.”

“Don’t,” Joo Won says. He curls towards Dong Sik, chin resting against his shoulder. He pats his hand once against Dong Sik’s chest, again. Dong Sik feels it in his bones. His entire body hurts too much to move, but he manages to tilt his head towards Joo Won’s, enough for their foreheads to touch. “Where were you this time?”

It’s an old game that they play, during these kinds of nights. Whenever the memories rushed up a little too close to the surface, when neither of them could sleep for some reason. Or when one of them was waking up at odd hours again. Dong Sik had thought they were fine, for at least a while—he can’t remember the last time he had a nightmare, and yet.

“The office,” he says quietly, tightening his grip around Joo Won’s shirt. “I just came in.”

Joo Won stills for a moment, and then he pats Dong Sik’s chest again. “Bad?”

“Bad,” Dong Sik says. He inhales again, drawing Joo Won close. “Very bad.”

Joo Won doesn’t ask for the details, and Dong Sik doesn’t feel like divulging. There are certain things that he’ll only mention in the morning, when the terrible things feel less likely to happen. For now, he just stares up at the ceiling and feels Joo Won’s hand against his chest and tries to keep breathing.

“It makes sense,” Joo Won says after a while. “You were calling out in your sleep. You said my name.”

Dong Sik’s throat closes. “Was I,” he says.

“Mm.” Joo Won rests his cheek on Dong Sik’s shoulder.

“Who knows,” Dong Sik says after a beat. “You could have figured it was just a dirty dream.”

“Hm.” Joo Won pinches Dong Sik through his shirt. “Don’t change the subject.”

“Ha. I thought I was doing a good job,” Dong Sik says. He rolls his head over so that he can look at Joo Won. His partner’s face is half-hidden in Dong Sik’s shirt, and the room is still a little too dark to make out much more than just the vague outlines of Joo Won’s face, but it’s enough.

Joo Won sighs into Dong Sik’s shirt. “Don’t fool yourself,” he murmurs, closing his eyes. “We’ve gone over this before. All of it.”

That’s also true.

Dong Sik forces himself to smile. “Fair enough,” he says.

Joo Won sighs again, letting the hand on Dong Sik’s chest slide over so that his entire arm’s curled over his waist. It’s about as close as they can get to each other in this position, with so much skin on skin contact that makes Dong Sik’s breath typically stutter, except tonight—tonight, it’s welcomed in a whole different way.

“Clingy bastard,” Dong Sik murmurs.

“That’s right,” Joo Won replies quietly, his voice a rumble against Dong Sik’s ear. “Unfortunately for you, Dong Sik-ssi—I’m not going anywhere.”

Dong Sik swallows the lump rising in his throat.

“Unfortunately,” he says, and for the rest of the night, he doesn’t ever loosen his grip on Joo Won.

good question! i don't think i have any canon/canon ships that i'm nearly as attached to as my oc/canon ones but hmmm off the top of my head in no particular order- (i definitely rambled too much omggg 🏃‍♂️💨💨)

ZoSan: my first introduction to OP through doujin of all things when I was younger lol, my feelings towards these characters have morphed and changed and complicated over the years (regards to Sanji in particular), I have a lot to say both good and some bad about them but at the end of the day I'll always have a soft spot for curly and marimo in this little heart of mine, they're my old reliable <3

PenShach: I'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers lmao, they've been glued to each other's sides through hell or high water (literally, with the tsunami that killed their respective parents), having their backs when things got rough at home with Shachi's aunt and uncle, swearing their loyalty to this weird kid who both beat them up for bullying an innocent polar bear and saved their lives, stumbling ass backwards through their attractions to other people, each other, and Penguin's gender - it's a sweet idea 💕

KilKidd: similar to PenShach in that they grew up together and learned to get along when they had no one but each other to rely on but on top of that also the absolute devotion and unwavering trust a first mate can have in his captain, the resolve to stick by him til the bitter end 🥹

Frobin: two jaded, hurt people doomed by fate and circumstance who are ultimately bound to one another and decide to build their way out of a shitty situation together, stronger - the fact that they're a little "older" as well (even though early-mid 30s shouldn't be considered old at all) but still managing to experience all these giddy, happy feelings you'd only expect from adolescence is very important to me 🥺💕 (they're also t4t bi4bis)

UsoNami: kids drawn to the open sea by a dream and realizing immediately that they were WAY in over their heads but bond over being the 'weakest links' in their group despite holding immeasurable value to the SHs in their specialized skills and friendships, they've also just always had a cute kind of chemistry that I like - girlboss with the silly guy who makes her laugh (also bi4bis but aside from Usopp I think Nami would be disinterested in guys entirely)

I like SmoAce, AceSan, and DeuAce all for different reasons - smug punk getting on an older man's last nerve every single day and babygirling the hell out of him at the same time, the push and pull/taboos of a pirate x marine dynamic, how both of them are a little dissatisfied with their lot in life (constantly being on the run with no place to return to, having to answer to uncaring and at worst outright cruel higherups that cared none for what their so-called "Justice" actually meant) and find comfort in each other for what few, temporary chances they get - Sanji's bisexual awakening/the immediate angst in the wake of Marineford and what that means for the feelings he has no where to put now because Ace always said it for him (because he was too scared to on his own) - that sweet sweet first mate/captain dynamic I love 😩👌 + I kind of like the Spade pirates as they were before joining WB and all, I want to know more about the people Ace deliberately chose to surround himself with rather than the family he was adopted into

OMG 🙈 well, thank you for asking and sorry in advance for the potential word cascade... the wheel spins are done using the wonderful tool made by @lovesickfolly (thank you for this 💜💜)

I have NO self control so I ran the wheel with three different actors lol

First I picked Pawin because he is my favorite plus he's pretty versatile and I want him in everything. The wheel picked Pepper. Both are 27 so I would love an out of school setting for them please. Pawin I'm confident could make it work with anybody (still salty about his aborted crumbs with Satang). I think I'd like something a little more serious/dark for those two, something about grief or guilt maybe? Very "two person who shouldered heartbreak and trauma and responsibilities too early find each other and, in the midst of it all, find comfort in the other and, perhaps, get a chance to start healing" kind of story you know? It would probably need an ensemble cast (at least one of them needs a family with siblings - mostly bc I'm a sucker for siblings and the emotional weight they can bring). There would be a lot of crying. A lot of warmth, too. Specifically I would like a hopeful but not fairytale end. I think I'd really like to see them get a shot at two very hurt, very scarred people trying to build something together.

And then I picked Pod because I saw him get the 2nd lead treatment in the Wandee Goodday's trailer this morning and thought he deserved to get the boy somewhere today xd. For him, the wheel gave me Ford. Was a little unsure at first, but you know what? they could give me a nice age-gap romance. Not necessarily something groundbreaking, but Ford has such a soft and charming presence he would do great in a very classic tropey romance. Maybe something about a slightly jaded and over worked Pod (who works from home) learning to love again (maybe he's out of a bad divorce, or he's just generally disappointed by love) with the adorable new neighbor (they meet because Ford has lost his cat (a grumpy thing as old as he is) and tries to see if the neighbors saw him. The beast has been hanging on Pod's sofa for the last week and a half). Something cute and fluffy, a little comedic (while I have my reservations about his character, Pod was very funny in Tonhon Chonlatee). There will be a "taking care of the other when he gets sick" scene. Ford has to sing somehow. And wear an apron (he wants to cook something to thank Pod for taking care of the cat. It fails catastrophically. Maybe Pod could teach him next time? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Finally, I picked Mike (like you kfdsaj;kla) because. I just always find him delightful in everything I see him in. The wheel gave me Phuwin - because apparently the wheel said it's an age-gap day lol. And while they are not that far apart in age, my mind immediately jumped to Beyond Evil for some reason. So while I don't think I'd want something as dark for them, I think it could be fun to see them in some sort of thriller with Mike as a competent but a bit 'out there' detective (the leather jacket and bike are a must, I make the rules here) having to work with a straight laced, brilliant and young ... either detective or lawyer or SOMETHING for Phuwin (who has to wear glasses, again my game, my rules) and see them learn to tolerate then appreciate then love each other, including a climax involving one of them almost dying in the other's arms. Who nearly dies I leave to chance, throw the dices about it. There would be so much bickering. Some wound tending, obviously. Phuwin's character clinging to Mike's for dear life the first time he takes him on the bike. Protecting each other. Yeah I would love to see that actually.

This makes me realize, once again, how branding pairs robs me (yes, me, personally) of so. many. options. (even if the only branded pair actor in my selection is Phuwin, my comment still stand xd)

I'm not sure how weird of a question it would be to ask, or if it's one i should ask, but if you could choose to hallucinate one of them again without any kind of drawbacks just to talk with them, would you? And who would you talk to?

Not a weird question at all, and it's one I've actually asked myself a lot over the years! If I were able to hallucinate one of my old Brain Roommates™️ again, but without the intense anxiety that is required for me to hallucinate in the first place or the actual damage to my brain that hallucinations do, I'd be very, very interested in it. However, my answer for who I would speak to in this hypothetical scenario has changed throughout the years.

Originally, I wanted to talk to the Black Clock. He was the most consistently distressing hallucination, and was a sort of manifestation of my intense perfectionism and high standards for myself. I wanted to ask him if I was enough. It was a question that haunted me for years, and either answer scared me. If I was enough, then that meant I wasn't living up to my potential and that I was "sinful, irredeemable filth" according to the script I told myself back then. If I wasn't enough, then I didn't deserve anything good and I was an active blight on all that I loved, somehow. Nowadays I don't have anything to say to him. I'm enough for myself and I'm enough for God. The opinion of some misfiring synapses doesn't matter.

After that, I wanted to speak to the Red Woman. She expressed remorse after I found my first set of medications that partially stopped me from hallucinating, and she apologized for what she put me through and told me goodbye. I held her the night I took those medications while she cried and said she was scared to die. I never saw or heard from her again, at least as a hallucination. I wanted to tell her I forgave her and that I hoped she was okay, wherever she was. I don't have that same anxiety over the speculative mortality of the voices in my head anymore, so I wouldn't say I would want to talk to her again. There's not much point to it in my eyes. She hurt me and said she was sorry. That's a full sentence. I don't need to open it up for anything else.

Later on, I wanted to talk to the Lime Hands because, in a very bizarre exchange, he expressed to me he was depressed and didn't want to exist. I wanted to see if he was feeling any better, as strange as it was to ask that of a hallucination. Now, though, I hate that freak and make no apologies for what the dang thing put me through, and the only way I'd want to reunite with him is in some wonderland scenario where I could tangibly interact with him. And that's only because I'm punching that sucker's teeth in and breaking his pinky fingers.

As for the present day answer: If I were to choose any of my hallucinations to speak to without consequence, I think I'd like to speak to Doc Brown, or the Marigold Girl.

Doc Brown was the most cordial of the hallucinations and actually stepped in to advocate for me on occasion when the pain was really bad. I liked him a lot. He was a friend to me when I had very few people to talk to. We joked together and he gave me advice and words of comfort during some of the worst nights of my life. I think it'd be fun, in a very surreal way, to catch up with him— ask him how he's doing, how he's been, if he and the Marigold Girl are still buddies and if the Red Woman and him ever got over the hump of their flirtatious hatred for each other and actually became an item. It'd be a nice little send off to the guy. He was one of the first hallucinations I stopped experiencing, and his disappearance was very abrupt. I'd like to be able to say goodbye properly, thank him for his help, and smile and kindly say I hope I never see him again.

(also, the guy's whole shtick was anxiety over disease / contamination and the possibility of me infecting others with whatever bug I caught at the time. I stopped hallucinating him WAY before 2020 and I think he would lose his mind if I told him about COVID-19. That was his time to shine and he missed it. Poor thing.)

The Marigold Girl was a very difficult figure for me to handle when I was hallucinating. On the one hand, she was a lovely, if somewhat unsettling, little girl. She liked it when I read books and explained the plots to her. She always wanted to be held. She was scared of the dark. She adored my stuffed animals and would whisper to them while I was trying to sleep. I enjoyed being around her for the most part, but she was a very weepy hallucination, and the Black Clock would deal out punishment without fail whenever she cried— it was always my fault somehow, and so I suffered the consequences of her being a bit of a crybaby.

Looking back, I feel bad for her. She was a good kid, or at least as good of a kid as an unhealthy cocktail of neurochemicals in a weary brain can be. She once said she didn't want to cry all the time and wished she knew how to stop because I got in trouble because of it. I think it would be nice to comfort her and tell her it wasn't her fault that I'd be hurt. She couldn't control things anymore than I could back then.

I'd really like to show her the new stuffed animals I've collected over the years and read her one of the short stories I've written. I think she'd like Winter Came and Went if she didn't have to worry about the consequences of crying during the sad parts. She'd definitely enjoy Bibbidy Bee Goes to the Library. If possible, I'd like to ask what her favorite color is. I think she'd have a lot of fun answering, and I'd like being able to get to know this part of my psyche that was scared to let herself show any sadness for fear of hurting others with it.
