Idea for display - brooches and pins displayed on a mannequin, like the brooch-covered bodice in the first image.

I've never watched "Our Flag Means Death", but it seems like fun. Regardless of context, I really like the brooch-bodice. It appeals to the "clutter bitch" aesthetic, and would be effective in helping to catalog a collection. Like, all the jeweled pins go on a dress/bodice; pin-back buttons go on a plaid shirt; Avon pins go on a grandma sweater; etc.

One of the most interesting parts of the exhibition featuring costumes from Pride and Prejudice (1995) was the chance to see tiny details that were included not even necessarily for the benefit of the audience at home (as they're too small to be properly seen or worn for such a short amount of time you wouldn't notice) but because the people who made the adaptation truly cared about those details.

The absolute highlight for me was this lovely detail on the fob of Mr Darcy's pocket watch on his wedding outfit... (fair warning that this might make you melt):

Can you see that little silver charm? It's the shape of a heart!

Quote from the information card next to it:

Mr Darcy's outfit is very fine, but restrained and tasteful in style, just like him. On his fob, attached to his waist, is a filigree heart. Perhaps his only nod towards whimsy.

I think this is almost too lovely for words. I love it SO much. It's a beautiful detail and I think it's perfect for his character. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it... it's ridiculously sweet.

everyone makes fun of soap when they find out how many hair and skin products he keeps on hand. the cabinet in his bathroom is filled to bursting and he always keeps travel sized bottles on him on missions

when soldiers outside the 141 find out, they call him precious and self-obsessed, a vain pretty boy too preoccupied with his reflection to focus on the enemy. no wonder how he got his callsign. price has given up telling him to leave them on base and just teaches him to individually wrap them so they don’t rattle against each other and give himself away

what they don’t know is that each product contains an ingredient that when mixed with any number of the others, creates potent chemical bombs. he was caught unarmed once, he won’t let it happen again

stoic whumpee tropes that are a 100/10:

"I'm fine" and then immediately collapsing in front of their loved ones in a bleeding pile, revealing a hidden injury that has festered for far too long

silent, muffled crying with shaking shoulders and a bloody hand clamped over their mouth because they view crying as weak and beneath them and they're stronger than this, they're stronger, they can take it--

the moment they close their eyes in defeat and it's all over and they fucking know it, and when they open their eyes again all that remains is a glassy-dead stare

adamantly refusing medical treatment even when they need it. Shoving away everyone who comes close to them, a choked sound in their throat, fighting back with everything that's left in them.

when they kneel at Whumper's feet, eyes on the ground, white-lipped and tense. The only betrayal of emotion is their clenched fists and tight breathing. In every other way, they're compliant.

umm AU where Obi-wan is made minature somehow... heres some random Thoughts 😵‍💫

I like to think Anakin would bully Obi-Wan *just a little* by pushing him over with his finger then standing him back up again...

...until Obi-Wan gets fed up and brandishes his itty bitty lightsaber which only succeeds in making Anakin burst into hysterical laughter..

Only after the initial shock wears off, when Obi-Wan starts feeling vulnerable rather than annoyed or frustrated, would Anakin apologise and start treating his Master gently, so gently that it surprises Obi-Wan cos he isnt used to thinking of Anakin, who is a literal force of nature in battle, as gentle, but he cradles Obi-Wan in his palm with the same careful concentration he used to wear when fixing tiny mechanical circuits on the floor of their room as a Padawan and somehow Obi-Wan understands a little of why the astromech is so fond of him...

also Anakin would be very protective of mini Obi-Wan. Maybe even put him under a glass jar...for his safety...totally for his safety... though a snow globe obiwan would be very pretty *shakes him*

actually no i need to talk about the green witch arc. ciel and his band of merry fools go to germany and learn that this forest is haunted by WEREWOLVES and in it is a village full of WITCHES with cursed amulets and potions and whatever

and the immediate vibe is "lol what a bunch of bogus" which is really just batshit coming from the kid with a demon butler

and then woah big reveal! it wasn't werewolves or witches it was a covert military operation REPLETE with radar tracking (not a thing until wwii) and electronic displays (most likely crt screens, which again weren't fully developed until the 1930s) and TANKS. for reference the first "tank" was put together by a guy in 1899 who mounted a machine gun to THIS

absolute paragon of engineering. the panzer (the exact model of tank in the arc) was not a thing until wwi.

and. and ciel and ESPECIALLY the Demon Butler in question are like. ohhhh yeah that makes more sense. the amulets were just transmitting our exact locations through technology that won't exist for another three decades. whew glad we sorted that one out. man wouldn't it have been CRAZY if it really was werewolves.
