And here's the thread for book 2 of GoMaP. If you don't want your dash to be crowded, block "reading king's shadow." And with that....

The Glorious TRT Gift
I needed to make this one its own post specifically so I could link it on my TRT masterlist.
One of my highlights of going to the con was finally getting to meet with @wonderlandmind4, who I’ve been chatting with for ages after bonding over the fic. It was one of those friendships where you finally meet and you feel like you’ve always known each other. There is no awkward period, no ‘um who are you exactly’. Just boom, we’re hugging, we’re chattering, we’re getting kicked out of Panera because we lost track of time while talking and they’re closing, we’re exchanging friendship gifts. And there was one in particular that was very special. If you’ve been around on tumblr, then you may have seen my mentions of her teasing about whatever this TRT gift was. I know she told a couple other people at the con, but when she finally gave it to me, I was just... stunned, and I immediately teared up.
She'd created a funko display of black suit Matt and a custom Funko Jane she'd ordered. It was set above the streets of the Kitchen, complete with beautiful, glittering threads she'd made and attached herself, with the Hell's Kitchen skyline at night as the backdrop.
Jane even has her key necklace, along with her leather jacket! Seriously, the fact that they have not just a red thread, but Matt also has his white thread signifying his love for his city, is just... perfection.
Girl, this is one of the wildest, sweetest, most thoughtful things I've been given and I have repeatedly teared up when proudly showing it to friends and family. My geek friends on my socials are literally losing their minds over it. I literally carried this in the Keanu Jesus tote bag with me every time I left the car on the ride home because I wanted to make sure nothing happened to it. The second I got home, I was rearranging the Matt Murdock shrine so I could set it up front and center. And I've been looking at it and touching it on and off all day, just stunned that someone loved TRT enough to make it. It is absolutely perfect and I love it so, so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you. 😭

do people not get that it's more embarrassing to be wrong, then double down, then lash out than it is to just plain be wrong? you must have lots of patience for these pseudo-historians lol.
My secret is that I have zero patience for bad faith pseudo-historians; I just consider debunking/correcting them on my own platform an opportunity to educate others, and that is what I cultivate patience for.

Since apparently we've stopped saying it often enough to catch Today's Lucky 10,000 and a lot more than that now need to hear it:
People using websites COSTS those websites money. Users do not directly translate into revenue unless the users are the PRODUCT that the website is selling on to other parties via ads or data harvesting.
Which is to say, the reason AO3 has funding drives is because they're not selling your porn-reading habits on to interested third parties. Please stop saying 'they should just make money like other websites.' I am fairly sure you do not really want them to do that. I certainly don't want them to do that. It's a voluntary drive; if you don't want to give you do not have to. The AO3 IRS won't get you on tax evasion.
Also like. You can care about more than one thing at a time. Your outrage and energy and give-a-damn does not have to focus like a laser on whatever you've deemed The Most Important Current Thing.

Just noticed that the DoA arc is when we really started leaning into the Bungo and Stray and Dogs part of the Bungo Stray Dogs title. Big spoilers ahead, but...
My breakdown of it?
Bungo (I believe this just means literary) - Sigma and the Book
Stray - ADA guys displaced from their homes, the PM sorta scattered due to vampirism, Aya also kind of lost at the airport, most of the groups just thrown around and separated
Dogs - The Hunting Dogs literally being called dogs in their name
Do I have any big point with this? Not really...it was just something fun that randomly hit me

"My brother had no regard for her; his pleasures were not what they ought to have been, and from the first he treated her unkindly. The consequence of this, upon a mind so young, so lively, so inexperienced as Mrs. Brandon’s, was but too natural. She resigned herself at first to all the misery of her situation; and happy had it been if she had not lived to overcome those regrets which the remembrance of me occasioned. But can we wonder that, with such a husband to provoke inconstancy, and without a friend to advise or restrain her[...] she should fall?"
- Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility

I salivate over worldbuilding that a lot of my interests e.g mass effect dragon age whatever either never address or only do so off handedly because it's such minor things it doesn't matter to the Main overarching plot and it's something our character probably already knows so there's no point in expositing. please god make shifting real so I can read all the in-universe dry boring ass biology and history textbooks

I read somewhere once that the whole point of taking time between writing and editing is to essentially reset your brain. You want enough time, enough space that your brain looks at your work as something new, even if it’s not, thus making you more likely to spot errors and ways you can improve a text.
WELL SILVER-FUCKING-LINING. The past 36 hours have completely wiped my memory of what I wrote in that chapter and I’m now staring at it feeling like it is completely new, like I am a new person, I have performed the memory equivalent of shoving so much new stuff into my brain box that the memory of the chapter squished out the bottom and now I’m like ‘oh I see now’. Was it one of you? Did one of you do this?
Well played.

i think the hardest part, for me, about having very vivid dreams that often make me question reality, is moments like just a minute ago where some sort of real sensation feels Off, and i start to fear that im not actually awake, and that the things im doing and the things around me are all just a dream. especially when said thing i was doing is taking a piss and i suddenly get struck with the fear that im actually asleep and fully pissing the bed

the potential of steddie angst about eddie needing to leave hawkins but steve needing to stay. like even if eddie’s name is cleared the town never liked him and he’s got ghosts following him around now. he never planned to stay in hawkins really and steve knows he was always made for better (unstoppable force).
that vs steve needing to stay because he fears something will happen again and the kids will need him to put himself in front of danger. he has the need to be needed because without that who is he (immovable object).
aka my trauma is chasing me out of this town vs mine is keeping me stuck here. that on top of them sorta understanding the other’s needs but underestimating how much they mean to each other. like i cant leave but i cant ask you to stay vs im not worth leaving for.

For once, Nat gets to enter Nelson and Murdock without sneaking in. She walks right to the entrance, leans against the open doorway, and knocks lightly against the front door. "Open for business?" she asks casually.
Matt, who definitely heard them coming from a mile away, just blinks blankly at them while Karen internally freaks out and Foggy points at them and asks, "Is that...Captain America?"
Bucky pats Steve on the back. "Show them your American charm, Cap," he says with a grin.
Steve winces. "Hi," he says awkwardly, very unlike Captain America. Nat elbows him in the ribs. "Ow! Hi, hello! How are you all doing?"
"You're Captain America," Foggy whispers in awe.
Karen smiles. "We're doing well, thank you," she says, reaching over to poke both Matt and Foggy in the arm in an effort to get them to act professional. "Can we help you with anything?"
"Have you seen the news lately?" Bucky asks flatly.
"Can't say I have, no," Matt answers, shaking his head. Nat can see that his cane is, conveniently, in his office and not by his side.
"What?" Steve says.
"He's blind," Foggy explains quickly.
"Way to out me," Matt mutters.
