I LOVE the seemingly fandom-wide headcanon that Illya has a sweet tooth, it makes me SO HAPPY

Random thought: Napoleon is usually very smooth when flirting and capable of seducing basically anyone he wants to, but he suddenly turns dumb and awkward when he's trying to flirt with Illya.

Not a wacky au (I dont think that I could live up to that level of batshit crazy) but an au request never the less.

Paramedic Illya who responds to a multi car pile up. Solo is trapped in his car, it’s a difficult extraction that takes hours, all the while Solo’s condition is deteriorating. But the time they get him out he’s in criticle condition and it’s touch and go. Maybe Gaby was in the car but it was easy to get her out.

For the following days/weeks Illya can’t seem to let solo go - he’s never has this issue letting go off a patient after the hand over - so he goes to visit Solo after he gets moved out of the ICU

Oooh this one is ripe for lots of drama! Honestly perfect for whumptober. I love the idea that Illya has seen this kind of thing time and time again, but there's something about Napoleon that sticks with him. I can see a situation where Napoleon is conscious at first and Illya has to try to keep him talking and awake while they work to get him out. Maybe Illya is not usually the "talking" one, because he's not a very chatty person, but for some reason he's the one who has to this time. He discovers Napoleon is surprisingly easy to talk to, but also he starts feeling more and more distressed as Napoleon starts fading. Imagine if Illya can see at least part of him—enough to see those piercing blue eyes that linger on in his head for ages afterward.

Maybe in the aftermath he doesn't even know Napoleon's full name, and he tries to track it down through the hospital but is rebuffed because of HIPAA. He should give up, but he just needs to know if Napoleon is ok. That's all (that's not all). One day after dropping off a call he runs into Gaby, who's there to visit Napoleon, and he's all awkward about trying to find out about Napoleon without trying to seem weird. She takes him to visit, which surprises Napoleon. They talk a bit and that SHOULD be the end of it, but it's not. Illya keeps coming back, bringing Napoleon better food than the hospital meals and getting shoo'd out by the nurses because he's there too long.

Obviously they fall in love, and what starts harrowing and whumpy ends impossibly soft (guess I'm in a fluffy mood, lol).

Illya is younger than Napoleon (I usualy headcanon him at around 25 and Napoleon 35ish), so I think their use of social media would be quite different : hence Illya on Tiktok and Napoleon on Instagram. Also it's not the 60s so Illya can be like 10% less reppressed :)) but as a debuff Napoleon now has the technology to call him a nerd

Illya's page started as a cover for some affair, but he ended up kinda enjoying doing it in his free time. It's like a hobby for him, a way to experiment with fashion ! It's what made him want to pursue fashion design as a career after his curent spy job. And also I think he gets more and more nervous the more followers he gets, because as a spy having a chance to get recognise in the street is really bad dkdldlos Napoleon teases him endlessly that he became a tiktoker (as he should)-

Did I, at one point in the project, had to scrap the thirst trap idea to keep the fashion nerd vibes ? Yes I did, but just know he uses the "twink" tag :)

• The first post is a ref to the discotheque affair, not the best episode and a great miss for not including a disco Illya outfit, so I made him one to match the other :D

• The second is to the Hot number, but he gets to wear the thrush pattern !

• The third one is what made me do all of this ! Because, if you're not french, you might not know about one of my favorite yearly twitter threads : Met Gala outfits as INSEE graphs by Clara Dealberto ! Don't care about the met gala, but this is very funny :) and such a Illya Kuryakin thing to do kdkdkd

• fourth one isn't fashion related, it's a ref to popart and the "he has Dostoïevski eyes" line that made us laught a lot

• A little Fiddlesticks for the dog post, because it's a banger episode. Plus a nod to he dog expert from it, with whom Illya had palpable sexual tension fkfkfkl I like to think they kept contact ;) (shoutout to this fic (Intensity by AconitumNapellus) who absolutely get the vision, 10/10 guy to "cheat" on your boyfriend with)

As for Napoleon, being older and less invested in this, an instagram made sense. But crutialy, I get such strong modern oss117 vibes from Napoleon (the way he shoots his gun, the goofy faces, the awkward stance everytime he enters a place, the inexplicable in universe rizz...) dkfkldls modern oss117 was a parody of both 60s james bond and older oss117 movies, but I'm now convinced they also whatched some uncle while doing these, it's just so obvious- anyway all this to say, in the second movie oss117 has to pose as a photographer and gets way too invested in his cover (it's his thing don't question it), and at the end of the movie we get to see all the photography he took during his mission..... Let me tell you how hard it was to resist him having an instagram full of blurry women on the street (canon 60s napoleon would have done it I'm sorry)- but what I kept was the pretty "badly" shot pics of random things, tho you sometimes get the odd decent pic taken by Illya. And he gets to be in a duck floatie as a treat and nod to oss <3

And the 3rd one is shit don't bother

Broke: Illya, Gaby, and Solo all have the psychological disorders spelled out in their files and that's it.

Woke: Illya is autistic, on top of (and contributing to) his listed psychological disorders. Solo is ADHD, which is a direct explanation for his listed psychological disorders (poor impulse control). Gaby just has what is listed in her file.

Bespoke: Illya is autistic, contributing to his awkwardness, missing social cues, etc., with PTSD, psychosis, and likely schizophrenia and/or bipolar disorder. Solo is AuDHD with impulse control issues presenting most boldly, but his Special Interests are art/art history AND social cues/high class etiquette and he takes high amounts of energy and care studying the second one, hence the many intricate and perfected masks. Also has PTSD. Gaby is an autistic person socialized as a woman, so she comes off as neurotypical and just "happens" to have all the diagnoses that ARE autistic traits, has cPTSD and/or PTSD, and attachment issues.

Random angsty thought: Illya puts trackers on Gaby and Napoleon as a sign of affection. He wants to know his partners are safe or where he needs to go to save them.

Illya dies and months after his death, after they thought they found all of them, Gaby discovers another one of his hidden trackers and breaks down. Napoleon finds her and comforts her/grieves with her.

I apologise if you already did something like this, but I had a thought, so I wanted to share it: TMFU RWRB AU. If we ignore/rewrite ~100 years of history, Illya could be a member of the Russian tsar family (who would still be in power in this AU). And Napoleon could be the son of the US president. Do you have any thoughts on it?

Alternatively (thought this wouldn't really be a RWRB AU, but I thought of it during the scene where Alex is memorising facts about Henry's life), Illya could be a member of the tsar family and Napoleon could be a spy sent on a mission to spy on him (I guess part of the objective would be getting close to Illya and winning his trust, so Napoleon would plan to seduce him). So, Napoleon learns all about Illya from the files, memorises all his likes and dislikes and such, and then goes to Russia to carry out his mission. He falls in love with Illya for real, but unfortunately, Illya finds out that he is a spy and he gets angry and starts believing that none of Napoleon's feelings were genuine. Cue lots od angst. But they'd make up eventually, of course.

So I've had someone prompt a RWRB AU for lokius, but I had never considered a napollya one, and it's kind of shocking how well it works give how different the source materials are lmao.

Honestly "if we ignore/rewrite ~100 years of history" is a great premise for an AU to start with. Yes, absolutely, let's do Russian royalty is still a thing, but also if the US and Russia still don't really like each other that much? If they're one false move away from open hostilities? A ridiculous spat like falling into a cake could ACTUALLY cause an international incident and be devastating for foreign relations. Also consider Illya losing his father at a young age (not dead in TMFU, but could be adapted that way), absolutely being a frigid ass to Napoleon at every opportunity because Napoleon is too damned pretty, and of course Illya could never, ever actually be gay openly. Napoleon would make a great FSOTUS heartthrob, with Gaby in the Nora role? Perfection. The only thing idk is what Waverly's role in all of this could be. There are some interesting potential twists too, like if Illya is an only child like in TMFU canon he'd actually be the heir to the throne. (Why do I kind of feel like this would end with the fall of the alternate-history Russian monarchy? 😅)

Ok, and I also LOVE your second option too, I'd probably set this one in the last days of the actual Russian monarchy. All the hidden identity stuff would be SO painful and so amazing. I'm just getting a feeling like Illya wouldn't easily trust people, so it takes a while for Napoleon to break past his walls, which makes the fact that Napoleon ultimately betrays the trust when Illya opens up to him so much worse. Of course he'd manage to prove himself to Illya and probably help Illya escape in the end.

Sidenote for those who don't know: the term "alterous attraction" indicates a feeling that is not necessarily platonic but is not romantic either, it's something in-between that doesn't fit into either label or that is not easily identifiable as one or the other, and that's what I imagine Napoleon is experiencing (I struggled to pick a relationship tag, I wish Ao3 had a third option LOL). He's just there like "I WANT HIM" "Like a boyfriend?" "DUNNO, I W A N T HIM *grabby hands *". Illya's feelings could be straight up romantic or platonic or alterous as well, his POV is not shown so *shrug *. I tend to headcanon him as biromantic, but if you want to read aro Illya into this I definitely won't complain LOL. That's all, I think, enjoy!

It’s possible that Napoleon might have—misread the situation.

Though really, how is this his fault? Illya is the one sending mixed signals all around.

First he gets all cozy with him, always finding an excuse to touch him, be it with a hand on the small of his back, an arm around his shoulders as they sit close together or even his hands on his hips as he leans to look over his shoulder, and then, when Napoleon starts flirting back, he closes up like a clam.

Perhaps Illya is just confused about his feelings. Maybe he’s never been with a man before, and though he very obviously started indicating that he wants him close he wasn’t sure what to do once Napoleon started responding.

It would be understandable, and Napoleon should perhaps just talk to him about it, but—Illya has been steering clear of him for a week now, since when Napoleon got tipsy and impatient and he straight up tried to come on to him, and he isn’t sure what to do about it now that he might have completely ruined everything.

He was stupid, he shouldn’t have jumped the gun like that, he should have tried to ease Illya into it, but—he missed him. The most concerning part of the whole thing wasn’t the insistent pull of want that began growing in the pit of his stomach as Illya started freely touching him, that deep-seated desire to be held in his arms, tangled together under the sheets and allowed to relax skin to skin after a good fuck, that was acceptable, normal, but—

What he wasn’t prepared for was the panic that would overtake him the moment Illya started pulling away from him.

Notes: I hope you don’t mind me just using the prompts in headcanons! I already wrote for these prompts as a drabble, and I wanted to do some more hc’s to mix in for my event :)

🦇 As you walked through the shopping center, you stopped to look at the various Halloween candies offered on the shelf

🦇 Illya stopped next to you as you asked him “Which of these do you like?”

🦇 “I could not say, I’ve never had any”

🦇 “What? Why?”

🦇 He glanced around the store, his eyes raking over all of the various Halloween decorations “I have never celebrated Halloween before”

🦇 You stared at him for a moment, somewhat shocked before you had an idea “Well, you’re going to now” turning you grabbed a bunch of various bags of candy and tossed them into your basket

🦇 Illya stared at you in confusion, watching as you turned, heading for the holiday section

🦇 “What are you doing?”

🦇 You stopped, turning back to him “I’m getting decorations”

🦇 “Why?” 

🦇 You smiled at him “Because, we are going to celebrate Halloween” turning back around, you headed down the decor isle, grabbing various items.

🦇 Watching as you kept placing various things in your shopping basket, Illya’s heart beat a little faster, a small smile playing on his lips as he saw determination and excitement light up your face as you looked though the decorations

🦇 You learned later on that Illya’s family never had time or the need to celebrate Halloween, especially since it wasn’t a Russian-created holiday. 

🦇 He insisted that he didn’t care, but you knew him better than that.

🦇 After making it back to your shared apartment, which you only recently moved into together, you laid out all of the decorations on the kitchen counter

🦇 You smiled excitedly at him “This is gonna be fun, you’ll see”

🦇 He smiled down at you “If it is fun for you, it will be fun for me”

🦇 You ended up decorating the apartment for the next couple of hours.

🦇 You decorated the tables and lower areas, while Illya hung webs, banners, and other decorations higher up and in the doorways.

🦇 At first Illya was seeing it as a chore, but as you excitedly explained where he should put things and talked to him about various Halloween traditions, he started to get excited, and even began to enjoy it. Especially the whole domesticated feel to it. 

🦇 Though he would not necessarily make his enjoyment visible.

🦇 That evening, you and Illya tried various types of Halloween candy, up until both of your stomachs got angry with you.

🦇 The next day you both went out and got costumes.

🦇 This was harder to get Illya to participate in as he refused to dress up as an “imbecile” as he stated.

🦇 But you managed to convince him to wear a black tail-coat suit, secretly buying a cape you’d later force him to put on to complete his vampire costume

🦇 Buying more candy for the trick or treaters, the evening was coming closer, so you got ready in your costumes, much to his annoyance.

🦇 After much complaint and playful fighting and refusal from Illya, you managed to do his makeup to make him appear “dead”, even forcing a pair of fangs into his mouth and a cape around his neck.

🦇 Looking at himself in the mirror he looked back at you with pure disdain, his voice came out in a gargled lisp due to the vampire teeth “This is ridiculous”

🦇 You covered your mouth as you tried to repress a giggle, only making him glare at you as he took the teeth out of his mouth

🦇 “Oh, but you’re so handsome as an un-dead vampire”

🦇 He rolled his eyes before pointing at you “No jokes, or I take this off”

🦇 You laughed, audibly this time “Okay okay, no jokes”

🦇 Throughout the night, as you handed out various candy to the families and kids that came buy, Illya sometimes took the opportunity to scare some of the children as they came by

🦇 You’d smack his shoulder or reprimand him, which he would only reply to with a smirk.

🦇 When all the candy was gone and you had gotten undressed and cleaned up, you sat on the couch, an older horror movie playing on the tv

🦇 Throwing yourself onto llya as he lied down he let out a groan of surprise as you chuckled before looking into his eyes “So. Apart from the annoying makeup and costume. How was your first Halloween?”

🦇 Staring at you for a moment as he stroked the side of your face, he smiled “I actually quite enjoyed it, but mostly because I was able to celebrate it with you”

🦇 You grinned at him as you pressed a quick kiss to his lips “I’m glad”

🦇 He smiled before making one last comment “Next year, no stupid cape or fake teeth”
