For all my Dreamling people, I've made the first short story for a new little series of ideas I've got.

Imma call it "Tales from The Dreamling" Cause I can.

Luo Binghe leaned over the desk, examining the mess of ink and papers, scrolls from the library rolled out haphazardly across the edges of the desk, stacks of prose and poetry copied in Shen Yuan’s shaky handwriting. The topmost stacks were already a bit neater, with Shen Yuan staring with single-minded focus as he moved the brush, trying to imitate the graceful strokes of the original texts. His own work was a mess of ink, not even bothering to let the ink dry properly before he would throw new pages on top. He gripped the bowl of ink in his right hand, held close to his work, both hands stained with the stuff, and Luo Binghe could see smudged black hand prints on the sleeves of his dark robes, a smear of ink across one cheek.

He took a moment to marvel at the fact that, despite the mess on himself and his work, Shen Yuan somehow managed to keep the scrolls he was copying from getting dirty. The amazement was short-lived, though, quickly overtaken by notice of just how tired he looked.

Thinking about how none of the bitb pcs believe themselves to be worthy of love but for different reasons

Kian doesn’t think he deserves it. That he’s good enough for it, that he’s done enough to earn it. He was supposed to be better than he was, a rockstar, someone that people could admire and care about. He was supposed to be someone special. But he’s not. So of course nobody could really love him, not when everything about him that was lovable was a lie.

Rolan can’t recognize himself as the person that was loved anymore. Rolan Deep, a teenager that died in the bayou and was replaced with a fake, how could that fake be deserving of the love meant for the person? How could anyone see him for what he really is, and still choose to love him anyways?

Rand believes himself to be guilty, responsible for everything that went wrong. He should have been there to protect Rachel, he should have stopped Kian from seeing Becky, he should have forced Rolan to keep himself alive despite everything. But he failed to, and that means it’s his fault. Someone that’s caused so much pain doesn’t deserve to be loved or cared for.

This was originally going to be my gift for the Pale Static Exchange, but as I wrote the intro chapter (2000 words, because it's me) I realised that if I was going to throw my axe into this ring then I want to set the time aside to do it justice.

All Mahiru wanted was life to be simple and sweet again. With vampires and mages and the threat of mass destruction over with, surely it wasn't wrong of him to assume everything would be normal again, right?

But there is a demon bound inside Kuro and it has more freedom than it did before. It's only natural for a being such as him to be curious, no? Only natural for the demon of Sloth to cause a little chaos after finding his footing on ground he shouldn't be walking on, right?

Shirota Mahiru has bitten off more than he can chew but, as always, he'll just have to make do.

Once I can gather enough articulation to come up with better tags I will update them to be nicer to look at but these are the bare bones so be careful and I hope this gets enjoyed.

There are not enough fics with Inner Sloth as a main character and I wanna fix that so bad.
