almost a year ago now, i got one of your prints at supercon and i cherish that thing so much. I didn’t expect to find any TMA prints at the con and seeing that made my day. As a fellow Danganronpa fan, I'd like to imagine that if Pre-game Shuichi wasn't, you know, gone forever because he'd given up his life to become an anime character like a dumbass and could somehow witness our Shuichi kick So Much Ass in Trial 6, he would be the one cheering him on the loudest. After all, Shuichi is his perfect little detective guy and the person he once hoped he could become. That's why I can hear the "You tell them!" in his voice in my head so very clearly. And in spite of being responsible for ending Pre-game Shuichi's favorite TV show in the world, at the core of it, Shuichi was ultimately fighting on behalf of his friends for what was right all the way to the end.

And who wouldn't want to get behind that?

okay i just received an anon concerning my measurehead/gary posts that was really illuminating to me (i wont be posting it here but i felt it necessary to say something about it) that basically said that me talking about it made them uncomfortable.

i thought that my stance on depicting their unhealthy and uncomfortable potential relationship was a clear indicator towards me not agreeing with their beliefs, and not endorsing the idea that they were anything close to a desireable pairing, as well as treating it comedically rather than as a serious idea.

but looking at it now i see that it was reinforcing a grossly fetishistic dynamic, and making light of a serious and unpleasant thing like race fetishism. i wasnt trying to treat it as "fun and sexy." this is not a ship that i think is compelling in any romantic, emotional, or sexual way. fuck, i wouldnt even call it a ship. it was an idea that i regarded as a stupid shitpost instead of an idea that has real implications and subtextual weight to it. but my intention doesnt excuse the fact that i was lax in considering the serious nature of what their dynamic entails. im sorry that i was flip about a topic like that.

the root was indeed "throwing ideas at the wall" and not trying to promote or even engage with the idea of race play. i wanted to present a scenario that, to me, was absurd and ridiculous, but it came with an undercurrent i neglected to examine. the joke wasnt funny because i didnt consider how someone who doesnt look like me would take it. it is never my intention to say something that could alienate a friend or a follower who is a POC because I didn't consider what I said before I said it. that was my fault, and im sorry.

not going to be. posting any more about that then. i feel like my stance on making a joke out of it was ignorant and in poor taste. there are many more pleasant and actually funny ideas i would rather share with the world than one that makes people uneasy.
