˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ — The Beginning of the Semester
It's been a while again! Uni has been back for two weeks now, and I've been settling into my new classes:
Film Theory and Practice, History of the Soviet Union, Intro to Statistics, Intro to Psychology, and Macroeconomics
My current fav is my history course - the professor is amazing, she's extremely knowledgable and has been specializing in Russian and Soviet history for 30 years and has done research in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kyiv. It's such an amazing change of pace when you have an engaging professor.
Since I have many important projects coming up soon, I am making some changes to my routine to promote productivity in both my academic and personal life. Planning to make a post about all the habits and tips I am going to implement!
Happy studies lovelies! <3

People are discoursing about the "are imports subtracted from GDP thing", and ofc no, they aren't, I thought Noah Smith's write-up of that was perfectly good, but it is a bit of an awkward moment for economics as a historical discipline. To TL;DR, when you see this equation for GDP:
GDP = Consumption + Investment + Government purchases + Exports - Imports
It seems like imports are subtracting from GDP, but that is because secretly C, I, and G all contain imports in them. "C" is actually C_d + C_i, and so on, so when you subtract I you are just cancelling them out. Explained it makes perfect sense (imported consumptions is, of course, consumption), but it does beg the question - why would you write it that way?? Like come on, you are burying compound subcomponents of a variable that you elsewhere sum and use explicitly in the equation, and there is no notation of that? Mathematicians in the audience are facepalming more than they normally do around economics notation, which is a high bar.
The "reason" is that the equation is actually a merging of two somewhat separate threads. "Consumption", "Investment", etc is all core economics, the fundamental human behaviors. They don't care about borders, it would never matter to you if something is an "import" or an "export"; from the viewpoint of a household today that is most every good. GDP is not a core economic concept; it is a statistical unit of national accounting. Governments care, but the "fundamental" economist doesn't. But obviously economists do more than 101 stuff, and so when the macro folk wanted to calculate that unit of account they married it into their discipline's existing terminology (for their 101 classes, obviously the people at the BLS have more sophisticated stuff going on). Inventing new terms for "consumption" was like, eh, why bother doing that?
Which imo I do think is pretty silly. I get it, I get wanting to use the same terms across topics, but here I think you have to fess up that it is just legitimately very confusing. I wouldn't be shocked if the median intro macroeconomics student thinks imports lower GDP unless that is specifically address as a "topic of discussion". Economics just has a very bad history of being special little snowflakes when it comes to notation, and here they clearly are paying a price for it.

Unfinished script shitpost: Cale Henituse teaches Macroeconomics
Cale: Welcome to ECON1002. Intro to Macroeconomics. How to get rich, step one of a lifetime. We’re in this for the long run. (applause) Cale: That’s right. I’m your professor, Cale Henituse, Research School of Economics, this is day one. Let’s get into it.
Actually nvm I need to revise term 2 content
5. INT – LECTURE HALL – WEEK 5 Cale: Week five. Labour market and unemployment. This one’s easy, alright? Three types of unemployment. Who did the readings? (Diligent Student raises their hand) Cale: You. Diligent Student: There’s structural, cyclical and… uh… Cale: Anyone going to help them out? No one? It’s frictional. Can you explain them? Diligent Student: Structural unemployment is where unskilled workers cannot find work. Cyclical unemployment follows the peaks and troughs of the economy and includes seasonal unemployment. Frictional unemployment happens when people can’t find the right jobs for them, and the time between changing jobs. Cale: Correct. Structural unemployment can also be described as a ‘mismatch between the aggregate supply and demand of labour’. If we draw up a labour supply and demand graph, x being labour force and y being wage, we can draw a line from the current minimum wage to find where structural unemployment sits. Got that? (various murmurs) Cale (cont): Do we all remember the participation rate? Participating Student: Employed and unemployed populations divided by total population of working-age individuals. Cale: And unemployment rate? Participating Student: Employed population divided by unemployed. Cale: Oh, good. Less work for me. 6. INT – LECTURE HALL – WEEK 6 Cale: Welcome back. Money – highly important, inflation – highly annoying, and finance. See, we normally leave these things to people like his Royal Highness, but unfortunately that is… not possible. Because you’ll be taking exams on this content, and hyung is not going to be there to answer all your questions. So! We’re tying back to GPA this week with inflation. What do we think is included in the basket we call the consumer price index? Confused Student: Uh… food, fuel, electricity, housing, transport, medical stuff. Others too. Cale: Close enough. Electricity would count in housing. Those ‘others’ are education, clothes, recreation, and actual others.

Kinktober Day 16 - Double Penetration/Cuckholding
For Kinktober day 16!
Professor!Nanami Kento x Boyfriend!Satoru Gojo x AFAB!Reader
Content warnings: AFAB!reader, female reader, threesome MFM, double penetration, anal sex f-receiving, established relationship, cuckholdry, professor/student, implied age gap, fingering, unprotected creampie, subbiest Satoru ever made, cocky/mean Nanami Kento, pet names "pretty boy, doll, love, baby"
18+ Minors DNI!
More under the cut
Every time your boyfriend, Satoru Gojo, talked about the professor of your shared Intro to Macroeconomics class, he always started it the same way.
“I’m not gay, but Kento’s built like a fucking brick wall.”
“I’m not gay, but Professor Nanami’s eyes are crazy pretty in the sunlight.”
“I’m not gay, but did you see the way Nanami’s arm flexed in that shirt today? I felt my pussy throb, and I don’t even know what that means.”
You squinted your eyes at that statement, looking up from the textbook you were staring at laying open in front of you to where Gojo was slacking off on your bed.
“You know you can just compliment him, right? Like, you can just say he’s attractive.” You reached your hand up to ruffle his hair as he hung his head off the edge of the bed to look at you with his big, blue eyes. He gave you a small smirk and clicked his tongue at you.
“I don’t want you to be threatened.”
“Threatened!” You scoffed at him. “That would require him to want you,” you turned your attention back to your economics homework as it was his turn to scoff at you.
Conversations like that happen on and off, but there’s something about Professor Kento that Satoru just can’t shake; he’s genuinely never been like that before. You can’t say you blame him, though. That man is an absolute beast. He knows how to dress, how to bend and flex his large, muscular frame in the most flattering way, how to drop his voice and murmur when teaching you one-on-one, how to make a small gasp catch in your throat when he leans around you to collect your papers, point to the right part of the textbook, correct your work as you practice in class. It has made your heart stop before, and you can tell by the blush that covers Satoru’s face when the professor is too class that it stops his too.
You were particularly distracted by the way his blond hair fluttered in the soft classroom AC the one time he called you as the other students starting packing away their things.
“Would you be able to stay for a moment?” Nanami asked, and you let your eyes slide to Satoru before answering. His own marble eyes were giant at the request, and he gave you a small nod when he felt you staring.
“Sure,” you shrugged, approaching his desk as the room emptied and the door shut close behind the last students.
“I just wanted to say that I was impressed by your last test score,” He murmured, shifting through the papers on his desk. You scoffed at the compliment, and you could feel the blush starting to burn up your neck to your face.
“That’s studying for you. I had a lot of help-”
“But you took the test yourself. That’s something,” He cut you off with a smirk, and the way it lit up his face made your heart drop into your stomach. You couldn’t push a thought out of your throat before he was holding out a paper to you. “I wanted to hand it back personally.”
You took the paper out of his hand, letting your eyes gaze over it and stopping on a suspicious 10 digit number at the top. It took an embarrassingly long amount of time for your brain to compute that it was his phone number.
When you looked back up at him, he was watching your face in an attempt to gauge your reaction.
“Just in case you ever…need anything,” He coughed out of his throat, and you realized that he might actually be uncomfortable, uncertain, embarrassed.
“I….I have a boyfriend,” You felt the need to tell him. He smiled.
“Ah yeah,” His eyes shifted to the door then back to you. “Pretty boy. Well, if you ever get bored. Want something new. You know where to find me.”
And then you left, unsure what to do with the paper.

the people are asking for the Quinn Hughes Hotness essay btw... i take it back!!! let us see. i think it's mostly that he's not pretty but handsome <- left brain right brain pseudoscience
i think the appeal of qhughes is that hes like. some guy...
like one of the other beauteous handsome ones like. petey (gay bald and taken) or nico (hallmark love interest and also fictional) or . godforbid . leon (Extremely Goodlooking Man) are like. beyond what we the selfrespecting fujoshis of the world are capable of. i see nico in the wild and you best believe i am not flirting with him i am running for my life because That is bait.
the reality of quinnifer being one of the most widely lusted after men of the national hockey l-abomination is that he is. Normal. i would sit a row or two behind that guy in my intro to macroeconomics class and see that he too is scrolling hockey highlights via the app formerly known as twitter on his phone and that he is also liking the leafs ones. i need to know more. how many online fights is he getting into or is he chill enough to let the bad takes go by
also this makes him kind of wetpathetic . i mean he's unlucky and shtuff but this is the leafsfan in him (and also the nucks are cursed)(to a lesser extent. To A Lesser Extent)(in fact all the canadian teams are cursed but this is not important). and there is something appealng about the one who is clearly Doing His Best, Even If Everything Sucks . i love peteys cunty ass but he does not have the HUMAN STRUGGLE that quinn does. the human struggle is what makes him hot. u know he would bleed if u bit him !!
#asks#quinn hughes#i dont know how else to describe it. he has both sexyhotman leg muscles#AND the knowledge behind his eyes of someone who has done too much weed and gotten scared#real life boyfriend potential#petey is all well and good and attainable actually. hes just a selfrespecting f*g so obviously has higher standards

"Tariffs as the Trigger: Bitcoin's Bold Decoupling from Traditional Markets"
Intro
In recent years, Bitcoin has shown a fascinating trend of decoupling from traditional markets. This development is particularly intriguing for investors who are looking for assets that can stand on their own. Tariffs, like those implemented by Donald Trump, are part of this discussion. Could they be what pushes Bitcoin further away from traditional market influences? Let's dive in and find out.
What it is
Decoupling, in this context, means Bitcoin is becoming less dependent on traditional market factors such as tariffs, earnings reports, and economic changes. In other words, it's moving on its own trajectory instead of following the ups and downs of the stock market. Bitcoin's unique nature makes it a special form of investment that doesn't necessarily rise and fall with traditional economic shifts.
Why it matters
The decoupling of Bitcoin is crucial for several reasons. First, it presents Bitcoin as a potential hedge against inflation and economic instability. When traditional assets like stocks or bonds are affected by government policies or global market changes, Bitcoin might offer a refuge. This independence can make Bitcoin attractive to those looking to diversify their investments.
Examples or breakdown
Tariffs and Trade Wars: Tariffs can lead to fluctuating market conditions. In the past, stock markets have reacted sharply to tariff negotiations. Bitcoin, however, has started showing patterns of resistance to such influences.
Earnings Reports: Companies report their earnings quarterly, impacting stock prices. Bitcoin doesn't operate like a company, so it's not directly affected by these reports, allowing its value to progress independently.
Macroeconomic Influences: Changes in interest rates or inflation can shake traditional investments. Bitcoin, with its finite supply, is designed to resist inflationary pressures, making it potentially more stable in these scenarios.
Political Events: Political tensions, like upcoming elections, can create market uncertainty. Bitcoin's decentralized nature means it's not tied to any one country's political climate.
Tips or how-to
Learning the Basics: Before diving in, understand Bitcoin's fundamentals. Learn about blockchain technology and how Bitcoin transactions work.
Start Small: Like any investment, it's wise to start with an amount you're comfortable losing. Bitcoin is volatile; small steps can manage risk.
Diversify Your Portfolio: Don't put all your savings into Bitcoin. Use it to complement your existing investments, providing added security if traditional markets falter.
Stay Informed: Bitcoin's market can change quickly. Keep up with news and trends to make informed decisions.
Summary
Bitcoin's journey toward decoupling from traditional markets is a key development in the investing world. Its potential to act independently makes it a unique asset, especially in turbulent times marked by tariffs and economic shifts. While promising, Bitcoin's volatility remains a factor investors need to consider. As always, knowledge and careful planning are your best tools in navigating this exciting financial frontier.

19/100 days of productivity
Thursday, August 15, 2024

Went up to my village for the weekend and monday and spent most of the weekdays recovering and adjusting to the city again. It's so easy to forget that most of your relatives and people who claim to love you are really fucking bigoted and homophobic and racist and alllll sort of terrible things and if they knew what my beliefs were and who i am they'd absolutely hate me for it. No matter how much love they give this cardboard cutout version of me it will always be a phantom of the real feeling.
Remember all that work i put into those macroeconomics and accounting finals? Yeah, failed them. For the second time. It is probably fucking me up in a major way but right now im completely numb to it.
Really finishing up that astrology course that I'm making. Last shoot will be on monday and that's when I'll send over the slides.
🪐 finished research on the aspects
🪐 finished the slides on the aspects
🪐 wrote FIVE commercials for the course
🪐 finished writing the intro and the goodbye
🪐 wrote everything that i need to memorize out on the paper
The big thing that i need to do tomorrow is the example chart section. I need to find birth charts of famous people that I'll use to demonstrate the chart reading process. I have noooo idea where the fuck i can find them but the plan is to find at 12 examples that are each focused on one of the twelve houses.
After that i need to make slides all pretty and presentable. That's gonna happen on sunday. I'm also gonna get my eyebrows done on saturday.
(btw im writing this on friday instead of thursday cuz i was exhausted yesterday)
I love you sweet summer child.
Arrivederci <3

Need to Stimulate the Entire Financial Sector- Umar Farooq Zahoor
The security introduction ought to start the society development all across the secondary market for the local currency debt. The strategy of public debt as introduced by the United Arab Emirates will have a huge impact on the global competitiveness standards of a nation and also, make improvements in the macroeconomic and management, said Umar Farooq Zahoor.
Farooq said that the strategies of the debts that need to develop the market of UAE for local currency bonds would be helpful to stimulate the financial as well as banking sector too. Also, it provides some set of financial alternatives to all the projects run by the government and sets up a bond market in local currency.
This strategy gives full support to the emirates to attain all competitive economy and improve the financing for the federal, said Farooq. He also explained the foundation of the public debt with the help of this approach and accomplish financial stability by increasing confidence in investors across the national economy. It contributes to enhancing and strengthening the nation’s standing across the global opportunities indices to become the best nation in the world by the Centennial 2017 of the UAE.
The government of the United Arab Emirates does not issue any debt but the individual taps the bond markets. For the last two years, the federal government has been placing the infrastructure to issue all the dirhams debt as denominated.
Zahoor said that the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates also mentioned in December that they will begin to issue dirham denominated securities and is known as M-Bills in January. It has also been said that the intro of securities may lead to secondary market development and it may result in the creation of benchmarking that is free from all risks for dirham denominated debt for a long period.
As per Umar Farooq Zahoor, being an investor, a local bond market goes a long way in strengthening the financial markets of the UAE, attracting the long-term flows of portfolios, and increasing options for monetary policies. Also, they said that the creation of such a local bond market can take the financial stability of the nation to the next level. The introduction of these securities results in stimulating the entire financial sector and give them a strong boost at first.
Umar explained how these securities will be advantageous for the financial sector of the UAE.

➵ HAIKYUU BOYS AS THE TYPES OF PEOPLE IN A CLASSROOM

type/genre: headcanons; crack? i feel weird calling these posts crack but idk what else to call em
a/n: i’m back at it again with these hc compilation thingies that no one asked for 🙋♀️ (also i completely changed the concept for this last minute but anw-)
PLEASE REBLOG IF YOU ENJOYED <33

RUNNING LATE — picture them running into a classroom out of breath with disheveled hair bc this is their third time being late and the teacher probably won’t let them in again. everyone’s staring and the teacher is giving them the stink eye. yikes.
➥ HINATA, LEV, YAMAGUCHI, atsumu, konoha, tanaka, koganegawa, semi

THE TEACHER’S PET — oh you know the one! they’re the ones who always raise their hands to ask questions and always answer them with confidence and get it right 99% of the time. congrats for having a functional brain at 9 in the morning smh.
➥ AKAASHI, YAHABA, tsukishima (mhm i truly believe he belongs here), goshiki

ACTUALLY TAKING NOTES — okay pack it up model student 🙄 they’re usually focused and seriously listening to the teacher (no matter how boring) and would come out with a whole google docs of typed notes. pls spare me some of ur motivation.
➥ DAICHI, ARAN, kita, asahi, aone, sakusa, shirabu

NAPPING AT THE BACK — i feel like the only reason they attend classes is to catch up on some sleep smh. they enter the hall and immediately make a beeline to the last row and snooze for one whole hour. it’s sth abt the vibes of classrooms i swear.
➥ KAGEYAMA, NISHINOYA, suna, iwaizumi, matsukawa, ushijima (he’s a himbo), osamu

PLAYING GIRLSGOGAMES — only bad bitches do this 😎 intro to macroeconomics? musty. blondie wedding prep? sexy! honestly there’s something about the thrill of getting caught that makes playing them in your classes much more fun.
➥ KUROO, OIKAWA, TENDOU, sugawara, tanaka, hanamaki, komori

DIDN’T EVEN SHOW UP — either they didn’t care at all or they literally did not realize that they have a morning class until three weeks into the semester. they only come in when it’s a week before exam season to try and cram all the info they miss—or maybe flirt with the teacher for extra credits.
➥ DAISHOU, FUTAKUCHI, terushima, bokuto (didn’t know he had class), kenma, kyoutani, kunimi
