My parents hated Barbie (and what they assumed she stood for, unreachable beauty standards) and they refused to buy me one, but my grandma didn't care about my parent's opinion and bought me a few and I could play with them whenever I visited her, but I knew better than to show my parents.

She also had a lot of VHS casettes of children movies and one of them was Barbie Swan Lake, and I watched it countless times, probably every time I was at my grandmas, and that's how I got to watch a few others as well (because I was allowed to watch certain children channels on TV as well that were forbidden at home).

And now I still get very nostalgic when I see barbie movies even if the quality isn't up to standards anymore 😅 But they do mean a lot to me.

No shade towards your family but I find it weird how people blame a doll for the culture we live in. Even if you never played with barbies you'd still be exposed to it 🙄(It's very much like video games making kids violent thing)

That's a really sweet memory I'm happy your grandma let you be a rebel with her 😂! Glad I was able to make you feel nostalgic because it made me feel that way too(I also loved Swan lake!). Haha I know the quality is horrible looking back now, But the memories are more important now 😅

Yosano will jokingly use the pet names when they're off the job or making fun of Dazai, but honestly takes to using them at work as well after a while, they're really pretty when they blush, wat can she say? (transfem!Sigma x Yosano yuri.... I think maybe)

Kunikida, after months of yelling at Dazai for being unprofessional and Sigma telling him "it's fine, really, it... it's not that much of a bother", will deadpan the pet name's with a very tired "I can't believe this is what my work like has come too" tone, esepcially cause Dazai will only refer to Sigma as said pet names in his reports (which Sigma and Kunikida always revise) and in the office groupchat/email chain.

Ranpo uses them in the gc.

Fukuzawa is tired of getting the reports from Dazai where a birdy is missed by Kunikida and Sigma's tireless revisions.

everyone else knows exactly who's being referred to when they hear those pet names, even if they don't use them themselves, just like Sigma pretends to not like it, but responds every time he hears one of his many titles.

they become his monikers in the field. Dazai is elated.
