🌊Fanfic information🌊

-I currently only write for 5 groups but this may change in the future :) when I stan new groups I wait at least a month before writing fics to make sure I have the best accuracy of their personality!!

-I am constantly writing fanfics and have lots that are finished but may never be posted. If you see old teasers for fanfics and can't find them that is probably because they were left unfinished or unpublished for numerous reasons

-warnings are always listed at the top of my fanfics but if ever miss any feel free to tell me what I've missed

-in multiple-part fanfics, some readers may be reading for purely the plot but the fanfic may include sexual acts throughout. In those cases, I apply smut in the warning tags and include a dotted red line in the writing to indicate where the smut begins and ends.

-the indented section at the top of fanfics includes at least these 3 things. Warnings, (potentially triggering topics and +18 content) genre (tropes and sexual preferences mentioned in the fic) pairing (the characters that are represented in the story) other fanfics may include a synopsis, word count, and special notes for the fanfic such as culture notes or other things that will affect the story that does not fit in any of the categories of the first 3 indents.

Originally was gonna post a fanfic for day 5 aswell that was mainly featuring Vanny talking one on one with the glamrocks!!!!! Not today I'm embarrassed cuz I'm very wordy and a simple convo can be way too long. I wanted to do a one on one scene with Vanny and all the glamrocks to get their dynamic but only managed to do Roxanne. They're on the sidewalk at night near the apartment complex convenience store. Right outside on the sidewalk sitting at the curb.

Since Vanny is undead in this AU he doesn't really feel pain as much I just think characters stitching themself back up is very cool. I'm a huge fan of zombies!!! I want to draw her rotte

Also 2nd time bro's in it's underwear and I just realised god I don't know how to draw clothes 💀 (I wear cat shirts everyday do not ask me for fashion advice dawg!!!)

"Look Vanny I know you've been busy with your work or whatever but c'mon just stop by for one race. I need my girl cheering me on if I'm gonna be taking the win."

Vanny snickered as she playfully jabbed Roxannes shoulder.

"You already have plenty of fans. I ain't gonna make a difference. Besides, unlike you, I have a real job."

Vanny took another swig of a drink as she lightly shaked its contents.

"HEY! Racing is a real job. Thank you very much."

"Not if its illegal." Deadpanned she took another swig of her drink.

"Atleast I'm good at my job unlike you!" Roxanne blurted our as she crushed the can she was holding.

Vanny shifted in her spot. Her eyes now gazing into hers. Controlling herself she looked to the curb.

"What do you even know."

(I didn't like how this scene played out because I don't know how to write characters moving and having a gay old time.) But basically Vanny was on her shift when Roxy spotted her. She managed to convince Vanny to sit and chat with her and even bought her some drinks from a vending machine nearby. Roxy was gloating about how many races she managed to win and hoped she could convince Vanny to come watch her perform again. Because she likes the attention. They have a lil back and forth before Roxy accidentally blurts out something that pisses Vanny off. Making Vanny be mad because what does she know what she's going through.

(Roxanne in this AU is technically a nepo baby but her story about replacing Glamrock Foxy is very much here in a different way. So like if Roxanne were to ever quit her races she could technically go back home and live comfortably in Vanny’s eyes)

Vanny thinks Roxanne already has it easy and gets a bit pissed and abruptly ends it there. Roxy realises and tries to backpedal what she meant but Vannys already gone. Sighing Roxy throws her empty can into the curb and grabs onto her face trying to calm down.

And that's about it. I like relationships whether platonic or romantic to have their ups and downs because it makes it feel relatable to me. Like a lot of my heart poured into this AU and what the characters go through I've sorta went through in a weird way.

I've said this before and people got mad at me but like... I don't disagree with anything you're saying honestly. Like, OBVIOUSLY a full grown adult shouldn't be fucking a child. That's FUCKED UP.

But I mean, clearly the people who said that didn't think so? I mean, isn't that sort of the problem with this sort of thinking? Everyone thinks that THEIR extremely specific idea of what is and is not reasonable to assume is the right one.

I mean, take furries for instance. Doesn't anyone find it weird that we don't target furries that way? I mean, you may argue that "Well, anthro animals DON'T exist so we're not worried about protecting them" But we've seen SEVERAL groups of furries that have actually ended up being active zoophiles but not many groups of fanfic writers who were actually pedophiles working as some sort of cabal.

Like, I'm not trying to throw furries under the bus. But why do we all assume that we understand that it's harmless as they understand the difference between fiction and reality?

I'm not arguing that it's RIGHT or WRONG, I'm arguing that there seems to be no cohesion in what most of the 'progressive sphere' regards as being kosher.

Why is it that we assume someone writing that sort of fiction is some sort of deviant and not just someone who want to see the actors portraying those characters together and yet assume differently for any other kink?

I think there is an ulterior motive to cause bouts of accusations and recrimination in queer spaces and that young queer people were wrong made to believe that this would benefit them, when really this rhetoric just feeds alt-right orgs like Gays Against Groomers.

They know what they're doing. And many progressives in our spaces don't want to hear it because accusations have become a good way to get rid of those you don't like with flimsy evidence and even flimsier arguments. Once someone asked me to help them get rid of @blueheavensims because he was making poseboxes that were 'kind of rapey' and when I was like "'would you be willing to help me contact that advertisers for hunter420x's website, who has actual animations of children being molested" she was like "no, sorry".

and while I'm not naming names, this is someone that many of you know and respect as a simmer with 'good values'.

This isn't about what you should and shouldn't be allowed to write because honestly that was never the issue. It was about giving young progressives the rhetorical tools to destroy themselves for petty interpersonal drama while the right reaps the reward of figuring out how to get queers to accuse THEMSELVES of being pedophiles by co-opting progressive language.

Everytime I see a 20 year old with a 'dni proship' i assume its someone who would spit on an actual SA victim before helping them. You just pretend to care about this shit because it makes you feel like a better person when you're trying to ruin someone's life.

Ur genuinely one of the best fanfic writers I've ever had the fortune to come across. So i have a question for you, do you have any tips on writing in general? How do you decide what should be sfw and what should be NSFW?

Sorry if it's a weird question, I've gotta pick ur brain about it tho

to answer your question on how i decide what’s sfw or nsfw: tbh, it depends. sometimes i sit down to write something perfectly wholesome and it winds up horny. sometimes i sit down to write something filthy and it gets soft halfway through. sometimes it really rides the line between smut and fluff. it just depends on wherever my idea takes me. i consider anything more than kissing OR anything with saucy dialogue should be tagged with nsfw just to be safe, but this is subjective!

for general writing tips (honestly, i’m tired af rn so i’ll probably come back tomorrow to reblog this with more tips but here’s some i think are very helpful for both sfw and nsfw fic writing):

a lot of times authors (including myself) get stuck writing repetitive or mundane scenes. especially when i write smut bc really sex is just the same thing over and over and over again, sometimes at varying speeds, but still.

if you’re stuck on where to go in a scene, remember to not only describe what the characters are doing; describe how they feel, what they’re thinking, what they’re considering doing. remember to describe the internal point of view as well.

how does this character feel towards the other character? has this changed? if so, why, and how do they feel about it?

how do they feel about whatever action they’re doing with the other character? how does the other character make them feel?

do these characters know each other well? do they notice mundane details about each other? if so, include it.

if a character is thinking, feeling, or doing anything, it can be included.

think very hard about how YOU are imagining this scene. you probably forget to mention a detail or two, like a character looking around or running their hands over marks on a table or absentmindedly kicking at the ground.

every minor detail is important to the atmosphere of a scene. adding or omitting certain things can completely change the way a scene feels

also, be very intentional about word choice. why use “angry” when you can use “furious?” why use “break” when you can use “shatter?” why use “yell” when you could use “shriek?” think hard about that sort of thing, it makes all the difference.

and, last one for now: remember to describe emotions physically. do not just say that a character is angry; describe their brows furrowing, hands balling into fists, or their eyes clouding with fury. do not just say a character is sad; describe the tears they are trying to hold back, the quiver in their voice, or the shake in their hands.

So I read the first chapter of your Cedric x Reader fanfic and came to share my thoughts.

I will say, I'm not too fond of x Reader, I'm more about reading about characters instead of being one. That being said, I liked that there was an effort to include other characters from stf, and I actually got invested from how the fic was formatted as a genuine stf episode.

I don't want to be too critical of the portrayal of some of the characters, but as a Roland enjoyer, I felt your portrayal of him was quite decent until it came to Cedric. I'm not sure at what point the story is supposed to take place in besides being between Great Auntventure and Day of the Sorcerers, but I feel that Roland being unhappy about Cedric coming along doesn't feel in character. At most points in the show, Roland is shown to not mind Cedric, let alone with Sofia. Cedric's Apprentice was an episode where Sofia literally became Cedric's apprentice so he could help her for a test, and Roland never once objects to her being with Cedric. I think Roland doesn't have as big of a gripe as people think because he's more disappointed at Cedric not being able to do magic than him as a person overall.

That being said, I love how you wrote him as someone who respected Sofia's wishes and let her bring Cedric along to the carnival. That is very much like Roland to see that Sofia likes something and sets aside his biases for his daughter. I can understand headcanoning Roland not liking Cedric as a person, and It's not something I'd agree with, but I absolutely agree with him respecting his children and their wishes.

As for the royal family as a whole, I didn't expect them to take as much of a focus as they did, and it was a pleasant surprise to have the children interact with Y/N. In fact, the format of the fic was so creative, with the royal family being so involved, I found myself being invested more in that than the x Reader parts. That's just me liking things not involving Cedric more because of how focused he is in the fandom. I wanted to talk more about the other aspects of the fic because I think people would find these elements such a treat.

While the royal family isn't THE main focus, I found Amber and Miranda to be a bit weird as characters. The fact I preferred the writing for James over them says something. With Miranda, I felt she wasn't a character like everyone else. The only role she seemed to have was as a mother and nothing else. The way she didn't have as much of a prominence as the others bummed me out. And it's not that she had to have a bigger role, but I felt myself questioning where she was.

My thoughts about Amber are based on my opinion, but the way she was written felt mixed to me. There were parts where she felt like Amber, like her excitement at getting her fortune told, but her being interested in whether she has a spouse?? I don't know, I personally don't think she would be too interested in that, or at least would be more interested in other aspects of her future. Plus the "I AM EASY" part caught me off guard. That part with the part before of Amber eating fast but elegantly did not pair well. It felt like Hildegard core.

These are just my thoughts though. I really enjoyed reading this fanfic despite some parts I didn't jive with. I would recommend it for anyone who likes a storyline with their smoochies with Cedric rjdbhdidjdjdjrj

First of all I always try to make my one shots feel like they could more or less happen in the StF canon, so I’m glad it works!!

Regarding Roland, I know that you love him but I don’t necessarily like him that much. I think he’s okay most of the time, I just hate him for fun lmao (that’s probably why I wrote him as less likable than he actually is)

About the characters overall, this was my first piece of StF fan fiction and when I was writing this I hadn’t finished the show yet (I was maybe at the beginning of season 2) so the characters hadn’t gone through all the development they had to go through yet, and I guess I didn’t have that good of a grasp on their personalities. Now that you point it out, looking back Amber was never boy crazy so I agree that that bit doesn’t make any sense (😭), and yeah I guess Miranda ended up being just… mom.

hey!! i'm more than sure you're not the only one, don't worry! i remember getting into fanfic a couple years ago and i didn't have a problem reading smut, but when it came to writing it for the very first time, i felt WEIRD. i blushed showing it to someone or posting it here and i was very unsure haha but it changed with time. if you want to try, maybe it changes for you, too – but yk, even if it doesn't, that's no issue at all.

What are your thoughts on aus? Like soulmate, fantasy, and all that stuff?

great question. in terms of what i like to read, there are some au tropes that i really enjoy, but I have a hard time getting into stuff that deviates too much from canon. taking a world and sprinkling in dynamics like soulmates, arranged marriage, or a/b/o is really fun to me, but when you start changing the world in even more drastic ways (like a distant past or future, fantasy, etc.) it starts to feel weird because the characters life experiences could be so vastly different, that it’s hard to think of them as the same person.

comes down to nature vs. nurture, right? is someone the way they are because they were born that way, or because of what’s happened to them? i thinks it’s a combination of the two, leaning a little heavy on the nurture side. and when you completely change the environment someone was raised in, it’s almost like they’re a different person, and i’d rather just read about an OC at that point because i’ll be left constantly wondering about x character trait and how that manifested in the character in this au.

no hate to people who write au’s like that, i still think they’re really fun and can be done well. thinking about how a character would develop differently, or paralleling canon events to similar events in the au is a beautiful demonstration of creative interpretation and completely valid as a fanfic. i just steer clear because i’ve found myself unable to enjoy some of them from how much i try and reconcile the character to the original, and wonder how everything translates. i think too much about it. and not every writer is gunna explain away how everything makes sense in the au, because that kind of defeats the point, right? people should be able to write about whatever they want without owing their audience a backstory.

time travel is different tho. someone sent to the future, past, or a completely different world could still have the experiences and traumas from their canon, but be thrust into a new place where they have to learn to acclimate. love that. [edit- my all time favorite movie batman ninja is a great example of this!!!]

in terms of what i’m willing to write, i’d say my taste is pretty tame. i don’t think ill deviate much from the type of stuff i’ve already written, which is basically altering events/facts to fit the reader into the story and some hypothetical but feasible scenarios that fit within the pre-existing world[s] that have been established. unless i become inspired or someone gives me an idea that piques my interest. i mean, ive only written for dc characters so far, and pretty much anything is fair game in comic book world, yanno?

Like it’s so well written. I went on a nostalgia trip for Victorious in like 2020 and then looked up fanfic for Tori/Jade, as you do, and holy shit I was not expecting this gem. This is my Bible. This is also longer than the entire Bible btw. This is what the Victorious canon is to me now. Also as weird as this is to say it has like?? Sex education??? Like I have never come away from a fanfic being like “wow I learned something” before. This also happens in the third part because Tori becomes a sex ed professor more or less, which sounds weird out of context but I promise it feels super natural to how her character is written. The writers build on canon as well as make up their own plot lines that feel like they would naturally fit into canon. Also I cried during the third installment. It’s a really good fic I would recommend it to literally anyone who is invested in a good f/f ship, tho it would make a tad more sense if you have watched Victorious, I don’t think it’s necessary since the writing is just so good. There’s also 2 more chapters left to come! I am patiently waiting the Jori wedding… even tho it has been over a year since the last update… I have faith we will get it one day… please…

I've read a really good fanfic where Wonbin was the main vocalist so I also see him singing, I think they could all easily switch positions in fics so when people start writing fics with them in bands I won't mind what position they have 😂

Hey Rist! How've you been? I'm curious. How would you rank Valtor's different voices for the 3 versions(RAI, 4Kids & Nick)? I was looking at S3 of Winx Club (I missed Valtor lol) & I was curious abt his voices for the different versions. So, I watched a bit of S3E5 in all 3 and ranked them from most to least fave. I ranked them: 1) Nick, 2) RAI, 3) 4Kids. Nick's version is so.. so Valtor, 4Kids seems a bit (a lot) too extra, and Rai's version is a bit (just a bit) gruff. What do you think, Rist?

That’s actually pretty much the same as I remember liking them, but my memory has failed me before so I’m editing a crappy little compilation together. And there's really only one scene I could have used for that without losing y’all’s respect. (Fair warning tho the audio trails over scene cuts occasionally so there's some weird jump cuts with sudden noise, but whatever)

From your worst to your best we have:

4Kids Valtor

Ignoring the dollar-store-James-bond music at the beginning, I quite like Valtor's theme here. The ominous cembalo cords remind me of cheesy old fantasy-horror movies and black castles during very dramatic lightning storms, and I honestly feel like the pompous, dramatic 4kids voice fits very well for that. By itself I feel like it’s far too over the top (which is generally 4kids motto), and also my least favorite of the three, but it does have a certain unapologetic arrogance going for it. It might not rank well for me compared to the other ones, but it’s still authentic and fun. Peak gay vampire energy here.

Something I noticed is the pretty big dialogue change here, where he states that he's warning bloom out of an “old, long forgotten curtesy”. I tend to dislike changes from the original script, but honestly? That’s such a cool detail. I feel like that adds a lot to his character pretty early one, no matter if he genuinely means it or is just baiting Bloom.

Rai Valtor (also known as Cinélume)

You are absolutely right, very deep voice. I am looking respectfully 👀👀👀

Compared to 4kids, this Valtor is a lot more subdued. The voice acting is EXCELLENT, the little chuckle he gives when he recounts what people say about him is peak Valtor, pure irony and ridicule. I tend to forget him a lot, if I’m being honest, because he's not as notable as ExtraDramaQueen-4Kids!Valtor, and not as radically different as the Nick version, but he is still very much a very interesting middle ground between them. If I’m being completely honest he's actually my favorite of the three, now that I think about it. His dialogue is closest to the original and I tend to imagine this voice when I write fanfics, and even if you can’t hear it in this example, he's got a really memorable way to speak when he's pitting the Trix against each other or trying to soothe their egos. There's something really manipulative, threatening in his tone sometimes, no matter which lines he gets.

But it is a close call with your number 1.

Nick Valtor

(First of all, Bloom's voice is somehow stealing the show for me here. In the beginning she really sounds like she's scared, in pain, and she's got that rough edge to her tone when she's angry. I don’t usually bother with the nick dub, but damn. Maybe I should.)

I’m not exaggerating when I say that this Valtor is easily the most refined of the three. More subdued, like the Rai version, but not as deep as either of the previous two. It sometimes reminds me of Macaque from The Monkey Kid, and that’s a huge compliment. This Valtor has a quiet, insidious danger to him that is subtle yet very present. He says “I'll do what needs to be done” and you don’t doubt it for a second. There's that weird blend of lighthearted indifference in his voice which makes him distinct from the others, and it helps to emphasize that he's completely different from Darkar and the Trix: he analyzes and understands his enemies in a way that basically guarantees him victory, no matter the opponent. I wouldn’t say I like it more than the Rai Valtor — this one could use a little more drama and pomp — but he's objectively the highest quality here.

My boy my king my one true love, it’s the slightly raspy, cutting and incredibly heinous voice of my childhood dub! He may be speaking a bit faster to fit all those long german words into such a short shot, but he pulls it off MAGNIFICENTLY. Similar to Nick's it’s not as deep as I’d imagine from seeing his face, but he has a harshness to his words that does not speak of subtle threat but of open hostility, clad in polite words. He's here for a fight, no matter with whom, and while he may not get that on this day he leaves no doubt that eventually, he'll wipe the floor with them. His voice influenced me a lot during Sparked, even if I didn’t really imagine it when he had dialogue. Just the character of it is such a vibe, this slightly impatient thirst for violence he somehow manages to pour into his long game.

10/10.

hmmm idk i tend to write hurt/comfort, like it ALWAYS ends with some sort of happy. so idk. i mean there is To All The Days We Were Together (To All The Time We Were Apart) which i'm SUPER proud of and that is super sad because it acknowledges eddie's canon death while also being a steddie fic. poor stevie

hmmmm maybe Google Translate? it's not got LOADS of plot in it it's just a cute lil meet cute.

gonna also knock so hard on wood for this, but so far no. i've received a comment pointing out how i've gotten various cultural aspects wrong before and just corrected, but never something hateful. i'm definitely VERY afraid of getting hate though. i am fuelled by validation

i would LIKE to think i will finish my WIPs but i don't know. im not very good at that. we will see, i don't wanna say any and discourage myself

i find these kinds of questions very hard to answer HAHA. i think maybeeee i'm quite good at writing internal monologue? i don't know. i get worried to say things like that because i don't want to sound like i'm boasting and it not even be a boast that's supported LMAO. i TRY and ENJOY writing internal monologues of characters a lot, and often have to cut things out to make sure it's not going too internal

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

transitions. i'm TRYING to get it in my head that i don't always have to detail every little thing for the reader to know it's happened, you know? need to work on figuring out things people can assume has happened, or fill in the gaps for, and what people can't

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

i don't mind it! i think it depends, you know? if the reader is supposed to understand the dialogue, i prefer if there's a translation in brackets or something, or when it's written in english but the dialogue description tells me the language, more than if i have to scroll all the way to a bottom of a chapter to find the translation. and if the dialogue is NOT meant to be understood by the main character/reader (unless you speak the language of course), i LOVE it i think it's neat

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

Hmmm. I have indeed written for both Ro & Bul (how good my fanfics are, I dunno since I'm kinda new to writing, but I have written stuff with them!)

In general, I like adding my own headcanons and stuff. With Ro, I like writing about his thoughts and thought process I guess(tho that's something I like doing with all characters but especially with him) and the constrast between his feelings and his actions if that makes sense. He's a really complex character to me, and because of that he's really fun to write. I also like writing him from other characters' POV since i think he's the kind of person where often it's hard to tell what he's really thinking so having characters try to figure that out is fun. Don't think there's something I don't like??

With Bul, I love writing him so much since we are kind of similar in some ways. Might sound weird, but I love how...full of emotion(and perhaps idealistic) he is. I like how he seems to be someone who feels very deeply, yet I think he does try to hide that at times, to appear level headed and stuff. Idk writing for this guy is so fun love him <3

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

I already answered this for Ro here but for Bul. Hmm I dunno? I'm not really picky but I sometimes like when he's made to be more determined/ambitious or given more of an "edge" than in canon. Don't have any dislikes tbh

(Also I associate him a lot with roses and such so I really like it when in fics I see mentions of him and roses like him liking them or growing them & stuff like that!!! Or rose symbolism!!!!)

i lovedd writing the protective aspect, and i love when guys r protective. not FORCEFULL but idk he was kinda forceful in the fic but it's always hot cause he's like "omg wait, im the strongest demigod in the history of the world, i can take care of her", and i can imagine that it gives oc an overwhelming sense of security cause shes gonna be safe foreverrr

AS FOR THE SMUT AHHHH, i recently started to add smut in my fics, but IM so scared of making it too explicit. Like I don't want to make it too obvious because i feel weird writing words like "dick" or "pussy" jkdfsfkldf

furthermore, i have a theory that a lot of my fics would be more popular if i added some delicious smut to it, but then sometimes i think that oh wait jungkook is a real person and if he saw this he might not like it. which is why i try to add the appropriate amount to make the story make sense and not sexualize him too much?? instead just try to convey the intensity of his love .

as for the dream, i think when i wrote it i wanted to portray y/n's paranoia , which is another reason jk wanted to keep her away from the quest
