Artist note: I’m so proud of this :))) I know it’s a lot of dialogue and reading, but dialogue is grueling work for me. I’m glad with the art and for the amount of pages I made in such a relatively short time span -w- page 5 was super fun to work on. A lot of blood, sweat, and hours here... :) The backgrounds were a big bore tbh, but I finished them! Yippie!

It’s almost 12pm but I had the random urge to finally do this so here it is:

I actually started the rewrite! 🎉🎉

I remember watching a yt vid once that said you feel less likely to do/commit to something after you’ve announced that you’re trying to do something and uh… yeah that def applies to me. So I haven’t said anything.

I only finally started writing the rewrite a week ago tho, so it’ll be a long while until anything is actually posted since I want to at least 1) rewrite everything beyond what I’ve already written and 2) churn out a bunch more chapters so I’m ahead in case I burn out like I know I will at some point.

Anyway here’s the current word count:

I think I used to be able to write some 7k a week when I was writing SAS before, so it checks out at least.

Now, of course, since it’s a rewrite of a fic I wrote when I was 15, there’s quite a bit different so far. Right now I’ve only written the first chapter (? Tbh I’m not labeling it as chapters right now I’m just writing and I’ll see how I want to split it) but I’ve already covered content from both chs 1 and 2 of the old version. A LOT has been cut bc I didn’t like how much fluff I was putting into each chapter and pretty much stalling my own work. Zoro joining Luffy back at Fuusha was not even A THIRD of what I’ve had planned for this series. So now, a lot of that fluff has been removed to get to the barebones of the situation and continue to move the plot along to new things hopefully before 50k+ words this time.

I still can’t promise when anything will get published but please have peace in mind that it will eventually. I’m actually finally working on it now that I’m back into the fandom 💜💜

I don’t think I’ll formally announce the fic’s status until I’m well into the rewrite, so for now I’ll keep giving progress updates here. Lucky you guys!

Also, I’ll be putting both the rewrite and the old version (which I think I’m gonna give it’s old name back since the rewrite will be called SAS) in a series. I might add some side stories in there too when I get to them?

The maths fandom is wild. “Real” and “imaginary” numbers? I think you mean canon and non-canon. You guys seriously go “this is my number oc his name is i and he is the square root of -1” when in numbers canon lore it’s actually impossible to square root a negative but sure whatever. “Complex numbers”? I think you mean a character x oc ship. “f(x) = 3x - 5”? That is self-insert fanfiction.

anyway i want to reiterate that i hope the rat grinders are tpk'd, revived and uncorrupted solely bc i want them to have to spend senior year together. 'redeemed' doesnt necessarily mean friendly with the bad kids and honestly? its so much funnier if they continue being bitchy to each other but without the trying to end the world stuff. they've built plenty of positive relationships w/ former villains now it's time for the next stage: uneasy alliance buzzing with the tension of both sides trying to hold back the urge to clown on each other
