10 Shinigami (TMNT 2012) Headcanons

First Mona Lisa, then April, then Karai, now the witch queen herself, Shinigami!

Shinigami grew up never knowing her father. He abandoned her mother when he found out she was pregnant with her.

Her mother and every other woman in her family is a master in witchcraft and the dark arts. Every trick, spell, and illusion Shini knows she learned from her mother. Her cats eye hynpo ball also originally belonged to her mom, it’s a family heirloom.

Shini joined The Foot Clan when she was 10, that’s how she met Karai. The two girls were assigned to be sparring partners which led to them becoming best friends over time.

Shinigami LOVES cats.

Shini taught Karai how to use make up when they were kids and is the one who created and designed Karai’s iconic red and black eye makeup.

She disliked Leo for the longest time, seeing him as a rival for Karai’s attention and praise (No, not a love rival).

Growing up, Shini had a fear of snakes.

Shini has a passion for fashion. She loves looking at fashion magazines and criticizes everyone’s bad fashion taste (Mostly April’s). When Mona started living on Earth, Shini saw Mona as her fashion project and offered to help her get some new clothes.

Shini is a closeted lesbian and has had a crush on Karai since she was 13. She was always scared to tell her best friend her true feelings, worried it will ruin their friendship so she kept it to herself for the longest time, not even telling anyone she’s a lesbian. Mikey was the first person she came out to and told him of her crush on his big sis, and he fully supported her, even trying to encourage Shini to tell Karai how she feels. It wasn’t until end the of the Kavaxas arc that she finally confessed feelings to Karai, to which Karai reciprocated and they started dating.
