One thing I find interesting abt the abilities from Earth is the implication that they’re attached to the soul and not the body.

It makes me wonder, do abilities form similarly to ancient powers? Because I think it’s mentioned that ancient powers form with in the original owners body at some point, and exist because of the need for them (idk if they ‘they have them cause they’re loved by god’ thing applies to finding ancient powers or OG owners of ancient powers 😭)

For example, we got KRS!Cale who carried record over because its ability with in his soul, same with instant and embrace(? I think? Correct me if I’m wrong it’s been awhile and I can’t remember if LSH gave him the power and he kinda absorbed it or if he kept it in something)

And during the sealed god’s test, all his APs carry over because his soul is in a new body. Also this brings up the question, if someone regresses and they have the ancient power, do they get to keep the ancient power, or do they have to find it again? Because while the world resets to a certain period of time, the regressor’s soul stays the same, only occupying their younger body instead. I don’t remember if it’s been addressed in the novel b4, cause a lot of the things abt regression are left really mysterious (too my knowledge, again, it’s been awhile ahaha)

Back to the abilities from earth, I like to think that they manifest based on the owner’s past experiences and stuff. Each ability is unique to the person, and with KRS, he developed Instant because during the unknown monster attack he couldn’t do anything to help and I guess his subconscious was like ‘make an attack ability NOW.’ And then he got instant. A lot of Earth’s lore and stuff surrounding the apocalypse(in the later years) is kinda mysterious, we know the basic world building but I want to know more, I need more earth content so bad I’m so invested in the world

Also, an update for my Nightmare Before Christmas readers-

I promised to publish a rewrite of the Tokyopop comic series, Mirror Moon, but haven’t delivered on that. I wrote down some notes on how I’d like that story to go, and even started writing an introduction for its first chapter, but haven’t touched it since. I don’t know if I will continue with that project, since there is now another TNBC comic in the works(The Battle for Pumpkin King), and what I had in mind for my rewrite was a little...big. So, that story would require a lot of free time and constant motivation.. If I happen to have that in the future, I’ll tackle it! But for now, I have no plans on working on that project for awhile.

I have also promised another sequel in my line of TNBC works, to follow after Our Nightmare. THIS I definitely plan on writing, but, again -- when I have the time. I’ve been working on another story for a different fandom in the meantime, so when that one is done, I’ll look into properly plotting out my next Jack x Sally story in my series.

Since it’s been so long, I’ll tell you all what it’ll be about: Jack and Sally’s children. (Obviously.) I’ve never actually made proper OCs for their kids, so it will take some time to create and develop them, then longer to actually write the story. I’ll also be acknowledging a bit of my canon divergence in this particular fic, to circle back to the movie. It’ll be interesting. I also want to write all the family/domestic fluff I can of Jack/Sally and the kids -- so I promise to deliver on all that!

As for the Jack X Sally requests/prompts, I quickly lost motivation for them. I may have to scrap it for the time being. I’ve still kept all the prompts I’ve gotten, so if/when I ever want to write them, I have them! But don’t expect any new additions for that one, until I have the motivation....I apologize. :( It’s likely I’ll get in the mood, come September-ish, and the season is right. I might post something then.

I think it is both true, and a very easy thing to say when you are not in the midst of sorrow, that whole, “Better to have loved and lost” thing. There have been people in my life, that I have lost, where of course I was happy to have known them, if only for a time. We’re born, we live a little while, and we die, and that is in fact the way of it, whole and entire. And they brought immeasurable gifts to my door. But that doesn’t remove the pain of their absence, you know? I mean, I don’t know if this idea goes over to swamps ahaha, but, I mean I would pop Ginko in the mouth here, if he were like, “I know your beloved swamp friend who quite literally saved your life has just died, and that you were there while it was dying, but, I mean, AREN’T YOU JUST SO HAPPY YOU GOT TO KNOW IT AWHILE?” Absolutely would lay him out on the fucking tatami goddamn floor mat. MY FRIEND HAS BEEN DEAD LESS THAN A DAY I AM NOT IN THE EMOTIONAL SPACE FOR “Aren’t you so glad they were in your life? :)”

Favorite OC:

Oh man...oh how can you ask me to choose my favorite? In all honesty it kind of rotates depending on what game I'm fixated on that most that day/week/month lol. The usual havers-of-my-fixation are Five, Ryn, and Raenor & Wulfwryn (they come as a pair, fight me).

(But, just between you and me goers-of-tumblr, Five and Raenor are pretty tied :P)

Newest OC: I'm not going to count my Ryder from ME:A because I haven't introduced her here yet, so I'd say Roslynd. I wanted to create her in theory for awhile but then I got bit by the agent bug thanks to @tiredassmage and finally actually created her!

Oldest OC (length of time you've had them): As far as some form of their existence in the source material, probably Wulfwryn. I created her waaay back in...oh man...2011/12 when my Lord of the Rings hyperfixation was really sparked. Though I was an early middle schooler at that point, so naturally Wulfwryn was a thirtheenth walker insert and also far less developed and nuanced its a good thing I didn't post in the internet

However, in any iteration, probably Emeldir and Wren. They've been two of my longest standing OC concepts that have kind of bounced from universe to universe from old RP forums, to LOTR, to SWTOR. Though they're very, very different now. Emeldir used to be a wolf shape-shifter and Wren used to be far less of a WLW boss ass bitch.

Emeldir is my oldest SWTOR OC though, he was my first character way back in 20...uh...2015/16 when I first picked the game up.

Meanest OC: See, I'm really bad at making mean characters so I'm not sure xD Wren is probably the one who gives the least fucks and is more likely to put you in your place. She is a Dark Counselor after all, she's got to have an edge to her to succeed.

Softest OC: Raenor my bby boy (affectionate, that's a whole ass 500+ year old elven man). He is absolutely my softest OC who gets dragged into The Plot. He just wants to love Wulfwryn and create his music but instead Things Keep Happening.

Most Aloof/Standoffish: *trying to card through all my OCs, I have too many, especially Dragon Age ones I haven't talked about in awhile). I would say Five, only because that's how he is with basically everyone except Roslynd, Era, and his junior agents in the Cipher Division.

Dumbest (affectionate): This one probably goes to Ien, but I haven't talked about Ien in awhile he's fallen off the radar :') my idiot freckled blueberry smuggler. He's dumb as rocks (by choice).

For OCs I talk about regularly(ish) that has to go to Emeldir. He very book smart, but very young and naive at the start of the class story and very much NOT what you expect from a smuggler's personality and so many times Risha has to keep him from getting scammed because "NO they aren't being nice, they will take your money, no they don't actually need your help."

Smartest OC: Five and/or Ryn no contest. Five is smart as a whip, he needs to be and he's very logic-minded.

Horniest OC: *sigh* V. This woman cannot stop being horny for Judy even when we have plot to do. She's singularly minded, that one.

Ryn is also surprisingly horny but neither she nor I understand why she's attracted to turians, if she's actually attracted to turians at all, or if Garrus just Got Her With That Voice And Personality and the rest just kind of happens. So let me correct myself, she's *VERY* horny for Garrus, I just rarely write it because I don't understand physically why.

OC You'd Bang: *bisexual panic* Ha..ahaha...quite a few of them. Let's see, Five I accidentally projected My Type Of Man onto so definitely him. And also Ryn...very much Ryn, I mean *c'mon* yes Shepard hold me in your buff arms.

OC You'd Be Best Friends With IRL: Probably Emeldir ngl, he's so nice and chill and really just a quiet guy and by proxy that means I get a token extrovert friend in Rielay. I would love to be friends with Era but I definitely feel like she'd be way cooler than I am IRL.

had a weird (but admittedly, very nice) dream with Paul Stamets last night and I aaaaaa I love him so much!!

the details are vague and its been awhile since ive woken from it so i don't remember exactly but the gist of it was that it was like a modern day AU (yknow, as opposed to being in the future, cuz star trek) and Paul was a friend of someone I knew.

So that person (whoever it was, idk) brought me over to their house and Paul was there too. I was just meeting him for the first time and I was instantly enamored with him. hes a bit more approachable (read as, less bitchy initially LOL) in this dream than he is in my canon and we kinda hit it off talking about science and stuff!

the thing is, in this dream I am younger than him and worried about not being perceived as a potential partner and instead just some kid with a crush. as dreams go, the way time passed was a little wonky so things progressed much faster (at least relative to the real passage of time in the waking world).

eventually Paul caught on to my attraction to him and thankfully reciprocated. nothing really happened we just held each other and watched tv for the rest of what i can remember lol, but it was really nice. he was very warm...

anyways, weird dream but nice to be held like that ahaha

well, my life doesn't change much from season to season, but, i guess i would tell them that i've been working out a lot more, trying to get in shape and make some sick gains. ahaha XD They're not that sick, but i do think that i am making some progress in getting stronger. i think i have definitely lost some weight, though i do not officially weigh myself

I have made lots of friends on Discord, and really made a pretty good community of fans with similar interests. its, really nice. i've never had so many friends before. Like, as you get older, the opportunity to make friends diminishes, but it seems like i have more friends than ever! and im really happy about that

I finally got the SSR Vil Shoenheit card from the Twisted Wonderland mobile game, and im so happy! he's my boyfriend, we are in a gay relationship, hahaha

oh and, i guess i have been thinking about a change in jobs. i've been thinking about it for awhile, and i still can't change right now since the job i have has a super good flexible work schedule that cant be beat and i really really need the flexibility. but I have been thinking of dipping my toe into professional cooking. i have no idea how to even start, but, it might be a good direction to go
