oh my goodness! a non-reblog post on my reblog account! how wild!

(i have no shame I will just be dumping half-baked headcanons and ideas here from now onwards because I am Insane and Deranged :])

as of recently I have gone insane about Just Roll With It, Prime Defenders (Sydney, it's a insane TTRPG podcast, Bandit, this is your fault you know full well what it is [and that's my two followers on here covered])

anyways william wisp minecraft skin & PD minecraft headcanons :]

William would probably do his best to keep himself in the dark about updates for as long as possible before cracking open the game and exploring to find all the new stuff. He dabbles with building sometimes, but most of his builds end up abandoned after a bit. He usually plays in creative, because he can't fend off enemies for shit.

Vincent would get William to lead him to the stronghold and then beat the dragon as many times as possible. He'd probably also enjoy hanging around in villages and trading. Given his tendency for JRPGs, he wouldn't be well-adapted to survival games, but he would appreciate the more fantasy-ish aspects of Minecraft.

Dakota would blast through the game with nothing in his inventory but a wooden sword and a stone axe. If it weren't for William and Ashe, he probably wouldn't know about half of the features of the game. He's always somewhere above a hundred experience levels.

I'm less confident about Ashe, since I'm only at ep 13 so far, but to me it seems like he'd spend most of his time in modded minecraft, learning convoluted mechanics and screwing around with exploits. In vanilla, he'd probably be more focused on things like building and redstone, putting aside survival so he wouldn't have to deal with combat and resource gathering.

I need to talk about talk about the kitchen fight scene for a bit because holy shit.

The choice of having the camera work be so shaky and occasionally follow either Buck or Eddie as they walked around the kitchen made the scene feel so much more intense than it would have if the camera was still.

It really helped convey how raw and emotional Buck and Eddie were respectively; Buck with his repression and grappling with Bobby's death and how he feels everyone is moving on and walking on eggshells with him and Eddie with his anger and hurt towards Buck and his behavior post-funeral and his own pain and grief about learning about Bobby the way he did.

So when Eddie got up in Buck's face or whenever the two got close up with each other, not only did it make me anxious and on bated breath wondering what was gonna be said or done next, but it made me wonder just how far either of them were gonna go.

And the contrast of the steady camera work from when they showed Eddie's reaction to Bobby's passing in El Paso to the camera's shakiness when it panned back to Eddie breaking down in the kitchen?

An absolute masterpiece.

Genuinely so curious who Mike thinks is gonna be buying The Cage or the new DCTL GN bc with the way he tweets as far as he's concerned, it's not gonna be:

The queer people he has actively admitted he will never show any representation of in the games.

2. The POC he has actively fought against representing in his franchise. [Who he also mocked for thinking they would be represented in his franchise]

3. The Bendy fandom which has always been concerned with topics of diversity esp in the sense of queer people since its creation. Who he has responded to really poorly esp in regards to the GN.

4. The fans who critique him. [He blocked me for doing so lol]

5. His fans in general who he tweets about like this currently. [He's being vague about why people were mad at him or sent him 'nasty messages' because if you actually looked into why you'd see he was in the wrong. Either way, a very hateful way to speak abt ur own fanbase.]

Reminder while Mike is trash talking his fans he has always treated them rather poorly. The fans who won the fanart contest for Chapter 5 never got their posters actually in game due to it being rushed. Not only was chapter 5 a big slap to the face story wise, but it was literally so rushed he couldn't be bothered to add in the art his fans gave him for his game FOR FREE. [Meatly blames this on a crazy timeline, reminder him and Mike are the literal ceos of this company. The proposal of future updates here is also pretty cruel considering Mike nowadays happily admits he corrupted Chapter 5's source code and therefore literally can't update it At All currently. Because he is a moron]

At least they got to be in Boris and the dark survival, and by that I mean that was the Only game they got to be in so far, isn't that just treating your fans like you love them? Shoving their hard work into a spin off game almost nobody has played or addresses much. [Hell, who knows if with the Lone Wolf rebrand they'll even stay there. In which case they'll be in None of the games, only in the credits of BATIM]

6. The Bendy fans who just generally disagree with him on stuff. Like the new ink demon design where there is literally a public poll showing people generally prefer the old one.

7. The Bendy fans who can see he is actively lying to them. To their fucking faces.

He says this has always been the case, but screenshots and links to tweets regarding the books being canon prove it was not. Does he really think bendy fans are stupid or something? [Unless he's admitting here he lied to Kress when he told her the books were canon which sounds worse!]

8. Anyone who doesn't like the idea of giving money to a guy who laid off tons of employees then afterwards thought it was a great idea to express his anti-union views! Also brag about how good of an employer he was, according to his employees, he was not!

So in summary; Mike is an awful person who has not learned anything from the awful things he did. I will not be purchasing The Cage because, combined with this and his absolute refusal to take any kind of critique or see any differing interpretation of his franchise, I have no reason to think my problems with the franchise will ever be addressed or fixed. I probably will pirate The Cage along with any future Bendy Products [Including the movie] and will do my best to avoid giving it any kind of monetary support. Unless this changes any time soon, I can't see myself making anymore positive Bendy posts soon.

Mike has just managed to make it so hard to speak positively or optimistically of this franchise when he's so willing to broadcast how little he cares about it or its fans. I'm at the point where I refuse to pull any of my punches with my problems with it. What's the point of trying to play nice with my critique when either way the people creating it don't care?

So with this post, I want to invite anyone who feels similarly about the franchise to tell me, make a post or send an ask talking about how all of this makes you feel. It may not change how things are, but genuinely seeing other people share my feelings of anger makes me feel better. It feels nice to see when other people share our same concerns and worries. I'd also love to know if anyone else thinks they'll be avoiding purchasing Bendy products over this.

I'm not forcing anyone to participate in it nor trying to say anyone who doesn't supports mike but genuinely maybe if we can collectively decide to boycott things like the movie, graphic novel and The Cage... It might at least make the bendy devs acknowledge how much they have destroyed their own fandom's faith and trust in them.

The way Mike tweets about his actions like he had no control over why people were mad at him at least proves to me he takes NONE of it back nor regrets it. If you didn't know about his actions and only went off his tweets, you would be led to believe Mike has been needlessly picked apart by fans over things he couldn't control [or in his own words, had his words twisted and taken out of context]. That is not how you speak about your actions if you have actually learned better from them.

anyway, that has been my bendy dev callout post. This is an open invitation to anyone feeling similarly upset about the way the franchise is going to talk about it. It's genuinely nice to see how people feel about this and the more we talk about the more it's likely the bendy devs are forced to address our concerns. I don't think they will but hey, that's why I'm not gonna support them with my money anymore nor am I gonna be nice to them in any content I make critiquing Bendy. I mean I'm also basically making this post just in case anyone asks me Why I feel this way towards to bendy devs/as a way to respond to anyone who thinks I am too harsh in my critique in the future.

As always, it seems the best part of Bendy isn't actually anything about canon but about what the fan's are creating with the ideas Bendy failed to do anything interesting with.

Also the books, the books slap.

He can see where it comes from. A spirit like Lethena would grasp at anything to keep Abelas from suffering the pain if his death, it's their nature. They were born from that wish so they were born holding that wish themselves and that will never change. But sometimes a spirit's nature has to be denied because it is incompatible with reality. It will be difficult, not only for Abelas but for them. They'll be denied that wish, their nature; they'll see their purpose twisted. He can only hope they will live through it. That they will remain at Abelas' side to comfort him, not turn into something else.

Because the answer is no and has always been no. Ameridan doesn't want to die, but he doesn't want to force his life to continue. It's reaching it's natural end. A little early because of the strain of the time spell, maybe—or maybe not. He'll never know. What matters is that this is life. This slow failing of his body. The way he can feel the hourglass emptying, sand trickling through his lungs. Every day is heavier to carry than the one before. It is a privilege to experience that, given the life he's led. An early, unexpected death would have been more like him.

It's hard to see the understanding in Dhavi's eyes when his legs get tired and she takes his arm to make him lean in her. But Dhavi will be fine, she knew this would happen. She understood it. It's Abelas who doesn't. Not in the same way.

Ameridan will return to Telana. He doesn't know where or how, in what form, but he's certain of it. He will be reunited with Telana and Abelas, eventually, will be reunited with Alenriel and the fact that they're separate likely won't matter in the kind of existence they'll have then. There will be something, something the Creators kept from them. Falon'din may not be there to guide them through it, but there has to be kindness in the end.

And would they want it, even? Would they want to see Ameridan give up his rest, his end, his self to stay with them for longer? What if they looked at him after and he was different? What if they felt he was taking something that wasn't his—Alenriel, Landalen's love for Alenriel—and what if it changed him?

He can't ask them, because he knows what they would say. Whatever you want, vhenan. But he knows he's never wanted Abelas to replace Telana. They are two people, two hearts. He would never want Abelas to try to be Telana, to take the role she had in his life, to fill that particular space.

But then—is that selfish? That he gets to die and return to her when Abelas will remain here and mourn him like he did Alenriel, that he gets to hold on to self when Abelas' self is different from how they began, when they were changed by a loss that they now have to go through again. When they've so rarely been given a kind choice.

trying to figure out elemental magic

ideia 1: standard four elements. (thus, magic doesn’t encompass every single thing since not everything can be fit into these four elements. consequentially, there is a division between magic things and non-magic things)

1a: even things that would otherwise fits these elements can be categorized in magic and non magic. ie. magic fire x normal fire.

1b: everything consisting of these elements is magic, and everything that is not is “non-magic”. ie. every fire and water is magic. everything that is not composed by fire, water or the other elements is not magic.

note: does the magic/non magic division work like organic matter vs non organic matter? would then magic stuff consist of quintessence and thus have similar properties as souls? is that why animas are elemental? do then the animas not contain one’s cycle but rather influence it, defining its inertia?

1c: there are not only four elements, but five or six or more instead

ideia 2: standard four elements, but each element doesn’t only represent itself, but also an entire realm of associated elements and charactersitics, like a videogame skill tree. ie: “fire magic” doesn’t encompass just fire itself, but also light, passion, heat and life. earth magic could also encompass death, sand, gravity, toughness, generosity and srenght.

ideia 3: the elements don’t represent actual things in nature, but rather more vague things: ie. gas, liquid, solid matter, energy, plasma, etc. could work well with the whole ~circle of nature~ thing.

fun stuff im sure !! but haah okay given julius was a kid when he was a commoner - yeah theyre both kids here!! not sure how old but definitely somewhere before the age of ten. and i think theyd be up to some shenanigans together im sure!! theyre both very mischevious kids (or from what little we know of little kid julius, given iirc tappei hasnt specified just How Much of a "delinquent" little kid julius is okay. but hes definitely the type to sneak out past curfew or something. stay up late reading too, probably. that sort of thing). and also subarus a kid and no way he ISNT missing home poor guy T^TT getting ripped away from home like that is bad enough at seventeen, getting ripped away from home when you are like. no more than eight or something is Bad. but luckily!! im assuming subaru gets found by the juukuliuses (julius's parents probably?) and thats how julius and subaru form their friendship / long-term yearning for each other (if you so desire that) (okay but no way subaru ISNT gonna form long-term yearning for julius flajsdlf). but yes i think julius and subaru would be silly happy kids together and julius's parents would be like oh no this other kid is so lost where is he from :(( but hes so loved by julius already too... well we got another kid under our roof now.
