En 1980, Shields participó en un episodio del programa televisivo "The Muppets", convirtiéndose en la primera persona menor de edad en hacerlo. There are a few jobs I would do just for the pleasure of it. Tired of working in a warehouse I answered an ad in the SF Chronicle when Butterfield and Butterfield needed a catalog photographer.
