Saying this to be nice, not to start an argument: aroace people CAN have sex and be in romantic relationships and it's arguably more aphobic to insist that all aroace rep has to be restricted to only the aroace identity that most people assume all aroace people are. When people ship aroace characters, they arent saying "ALL aroace people have sex and date", theyre saying that being aroace doesn't restrict us from doing that and so we don't have to see every aroace person as just one part of the spectrum.

They absolutely can! The point I'm making here is not for all aroace rep to be devoid of sex and romance, but that all aroace characters get mixed up in these, which, as a sex and romance repulsed aroace, is not a good thing to see. Some examples are Saiki Kusuo, Jughead Jones and Sherlock Holmes.

I believe there should be layers to aroace representation. There should be aspec characters who are favourable towards romance (Jonathan Sims, Todd Chavez) who participate in it, aspec characters who are favourable towards sex (Aled Last) AND aspec characters who aren't favourable towards either of those things.

I don't think its a lot to ask from fandoms to respect the last category.
