Aaahhhhh. I keep thinking about that last scene in E5 of My School President. Tinn’s accidental confession to Gun was so well handled. And Gun’s response was consistent with how he reacted earlier in the episode when Tinn tried to ask him directly if Gun liked anyone (him) to date after Hot Wave.

Gun still isn’t ready to verbalise and acknowledge what is growing between them. Flirting and teasing is easy - it is fun and the banter between them is non-threatening. You saw it in E4, when they were practicing Tinn serving cake to Gun, and it comes up just before Tinn’s confession here. Gun is asking Tinn about who he likes, but because he isn’t ready to say his feelings out loud, he gets taken aback when Tinn does. Gun finishing that sentence “the one you like …is me” is as scary to him in that moment as Gun saying he likes Tinn too. Not because he doesn’t feel things - I would say his actions and the way he has accepted Tinn into his life are testament that he knows something is there. But by speaking it out loud, it becomes real, and the relationship moves from being Hypothetical to a real thing.

It’s also a reality check that that there is more to life after Hot Wave. He’s been able to hide behind music and the competition as a way of avoiding dating up until this point, and probably has never had an interest in anyone serious enough to want to date - not all high school kids do. But here is Tinn, making his heart race, supporting him to achieve his goals, helping out whenever he has doubts or issues at home. Tinn is someone he could see himself wanting to date, but he doesn’t have any experience with opening himself up to that. Tinn being a friend he flirts with is one thing. Tinn being Gun’s boyfriend - he still needs time.

We may joke that Gun is an idiot (affectionate), but he isn’t actually - it’s just that he only pays attention to what is most important to him. Before Tinn, the only thing important to him was Music and Hot Wave. But as his final school year flies by, he knows that he needs to start facing reality. He can do well in school if he wants to. He helps his mum at the cafe and can recognise the shop is struggling when his mum gets sick. And he has picked up that Tinn likes him since their study dates and Tinn confessing that part of the reason he joined Student Council was to help him. I don’t think he is going to misinterpret the second poolside confession as Tinn liking someone else in the club.

Okay okay just finished the ordination episode and AAAHHHHH Peter and Catherine are everything!! Hugo/Grigor rivalry is so so so fun. Also the boys together exude such a boys will be boys energy with running into bags and trying to get horses hard. And the practice for the duel? I love the madness of those scenes. I also terribly terribly love how this show has the most insane anecdotes and then still end in the most emotional way. Esp with Peter. Nicholas Hoult your range!

Speaking of range, To Paul! His first word was pussy and second book! Truly an icon. Huzzah!

Also Elisabeth and Archie together is definitely such a power duo? Love. Also love? Vinodel asking in increasingly bizzare ways to have sex with Elisabeth.

I just got jump scared by a mop don’t look at me-

God, seeing the kid in the basement is always another moment that leaves a lump in my throat. He’s so weak that he can’t even stand to attack us, and after you kill him you have to carry him to bury him with his dog and just... it’s one of the smaller but more effective scenes in the game.

Episode 1 thoughts!!

OH MY GODDDDDDDD I am SO happy

For a bit of background, I first watched the Furuba anime in 2011 or 2012, and after I finished it, I started reading the manga. I’ve seen both the original anime and read the manga about...i don’t know, a MILLION times? It is my favorite story of all time, and I know everything front and back, so for me, the first episode of the reboot was SO good!!! 

Firstly, the eye colors were correct! As much as I loved Tohru with blue eyes, it makes me happy that they’re keeping it SO close to the manga that they’re even keeping the original eye colors. 

The fact that they showed the blue hat!! The hat!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!

I love the new voice actors (I’m watching the sub, I know the dub has the same people as 2001), and I think their voices all fit very well.  

It is the first episode though, so it was pretty much frame for frame the same as the 2001 first episode. Once we get into it a little bit, like past episode six, things should start to be different. I’m just so happy that my favorite anime is back!

All for One is defeated but there is still the League of Villains to take down and this time it won’t be All Might, but Izuku Midoriya.

We're officially together!

Aaahhhhh I still can't believe it. The sun's just setting and we just finished eating our late lunch. We were watching How I Met Your Mother and he suddenly asked me if every 10th of the month is a good day to celebrate our monthsaries. I can't quite remember if it's during the episode where Ted and Victoria mentioned their monthsary. He popped the question out of nowhere that I didn't get right away if it's in the context of what we were watching or he was actually serious. I had to ask again 'What do you mean?' while I let out nervous giggles because maybe he's really being serious.

And then he changed the question to: "can you be my girlfriend?"

My heart raced. Oh, this question. I didn't expect him to ask so soon since he just asked if he could court me a couple of weeks ago.

I answered a long "hmmmmm," because I badly wanted to say 'yes' but a lot of thoughts flashed in my head before I could say anything. I'm certain I want to be with this guy but I'm not sure if I can introduce him to my friends and family so soon. I just came from a breakup 4 months ago from a five-year relationship. Having a label comes with responsibilities like that. But then I realized we could deal with that together later on.

He also explained that he wanted to continue courting me formally, but he doesn't know how to do it. He said he could still do it while we're already together. I know he would, but deep down I also knew he's kind of rushing things, not in a bad way, but more of an excited way.

So while I was smiling and thinking, he asked again, "Maybe I should change the question. Do you want me to be your boyfriend?" And finally I answered 'yes.'

And *drumrolls*

"I love you," he finally blurted out, while wearing that sweet beautiful smile.

Ah, I was dying to tell him that all day, too. I know for a long time now that I like this guy. I like him so much. But I have not felt that new spark of falling in love until that same day, in the morning after eating breakfast, when we were on the sofa, I was watching How I Met Your Mother while he's playing Axie, his head on my lap, and I was leaning a little on to his shoulders. I looked at his lovely eyes and watched him be himself and all, and then without a warning, my heart suddenly raced like it wants to jump out of my chest, butterflies are suddenly in my stomach, it's like the fluttering of their wings is bringing this weird fleeting feeling, and it got a little bit hard to breathe and take it all in as I realized what is happening --- I'm falling in love. I literally said in my mind, "fuck, I love this guy."

So when he told me those three words, I knew instantly what to say.

"I love you, too."

And then we kissed. And we smiled at each other because funnily, we've both been chasing this moment to say it out loud. And now we did. It's quite magical to think that he's been waiting for a chance to tell me he loves me while I was secretly dying to tell him the same too, and we're just waiting for the right moment. He's been singing "bb, do you love me?" in the tune of In My Feelings by Drake all day and I wanted to answer yes jokingly, but I held back because I didn't want to ruin it, you know. I didn't want to subtly tell him I love him by responding to a silly song, but he told me that it was his cue. And I on the other hand would call his attention randomly just to tell him, "I like you," or would just kiss him out of nowehere, when I really wanted to say I love you instead. It's really cute. We're both in love and everything makes sense between the two of us and even when they don't, we're willing to work things out. Nothing's really changed with the way we treat each other. But of course there's still a lot to learn about each other.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood [Part 1]

So, I just finished JBA part 3 and i really feel the need to put down my thoughts in these posts about each of the seasons because theres just so much i want to talk about but no one to talk with. heh. 

In this post, I'm going to be talking about part 1 of JBA; Phantom Blood. its going to be mostly spoiler-free so if you're looking to get into JBA i suggest reading this post, it might just push you to do just that. i will put up a lil alert if there are spoilers incoming. 

Phantom Blood is seriously such an underrated season, I wish people would hype Part 1 up more because personally i feel like it really deserves it. its a really nice little introduction to the Joestar family and we get to see one of the nicer Jojo’s; Jonathan Joestar. as far as i know though, a lot of people really dislike part 1 and i can't understand why. if you do, please lets have a healthy discussion! i like to hear about other peoples opinions :)

so what is the anime about? one day, a man called Dario Brando stumbles upon the rich and wealthy George Joestar I’s unconscious body and sees this as an opportunity to rob him. George mistakes the situation and thinks that Dario rescued him from his carriage crash and feels indebted towards him. Fast forward many years later, Dario is on his deathbed and asks his son, Dio Brando, to seek the Joestar family. George wholeheartedly accepts Dio as his own son but fails to see how he mistreats his actual son Jonathan Joestar, nicknamed Jojo. The story then carries on from there revolving around how Jojo has to deal with Dio and his antics. this might sound like a typical storyline but trust me, its a lot more than just that. it will rope you in from the very first episode itself and take you one beautiful, manly, muscular ride. 

It has some of the most stunning art i have ever seen in anime. and that was also one of the main reasons why i started watching the anime. (I'm a sucker for some good art styles heh) its so colourful and gorgeous! when i first saw this though, i couldn't help but see the similarities between JBA and Fist of the North Star. i mean Jojo does look a lot like Kenshiro and Hamon is reaaaaalllyyyy similar to Kenshiro’s Hokuto Shinken. but i understand that Hirohiko Araki is a huge fan of FOTNS and it influenced his art.

I swear Jonathan is SO underrated! Its really hard for me to choose a favourite Jojo because i love them all so much, but ill have you know that Jonathan does not fall far behind in my list. there wouldn't be much difference between each of them for me. i feel like if we got to see more of Jonathan he would definitely be a lot more popular and would be a big favorite among Jojo fans. his super nice nature is what reeled me in and made me love him so much. 

ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT THESE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL COVERS? THEY ARE SO GORGEOUS AAAHHHHH. i really cannot express how much i love this art style. if anyone knows any other animes with a similar art style please let me know!!

i just finished watching soul eater

Ok so I just finished episode 5 of Oreimo and... OMFG I LOVE IT AAAHHHHH I'm gonna ramble for a bit so I'll put the rest under the break.

OK so I think I said before that there were a couple reasons I started watching this series. One is because I've heard a bit about it, and most of what I heard was interesting. Two, a few people I know on here recommended it. And three, I also wanted to check out Eromanga-sensei (which was done by the same author and lots of people have made comparisons between the two). Anyway, I'm 5 episodes in, so have some Thoughts on it:

I guess I should describe the series in case you're not familiar with it; I'll keep things spoiler-free for those of you who haven't watched it yet (but might want to after reading this!). The main character is Kyosuke Kosaka, a boring, ordinary high school boy leading a boring, ordinary life, and that's the way he likes it, dammit. His sister Kirino, however, is a different story; she's in middle school and she's practically perfect in every way. She gets straight A’s in school, she has a professional modelling career, she's popular and well-liked and pretty and basically everyone's idol. The story proper begins when Kyosuke bumps into Kirino at home one day, and she drops a DVD case. Kyosuke picks it up and sees that while the outside case is for a currently-popular magical girl anime, the disc inside is a "little sister" eroge. It comes out that Kirino is a closet otaku, whose primary interest are these little sister games (like, she literally has a hidden closet in her room that is filled with probably thousands of dollars worth of games, doujinshi, art books, etc). The series is essentially about Kyosuke helping Kirino try to integrate her hobby into her daily life, a feat made all the more difficult by the fact that otaku are widely looked down upon in Japan (for those not aware, the term carries a VERY different connotation there than it does here).

OK so the first thing that strikes me as being different from the reviews I've read is the, ahem, nature of Kyosuke and Kirino's relationship. This isn't one of those situations where, like, one of the characters is secretly adopted, or that they're step-siblings or whatever; they are actual brother and sister, related by blood. People seem to be side-eyeing the series for its hints of an incestuous relationship between the two, and honestly I... haven't seen that yet. Keep in mind, I'm not even half way through the series yet, but you'd think there'd be SOMEthing by now to hint at that, right? I don't know. It could be I'm reading things differently than others, perhaps because I don't have any siblings of my own (or who knows, perhaps I'm just incredibly genre-savvy, haha). But everything I've seen suggests that Kyosuke is acting like a big brother who wants to rebuild the broken relationship he has with his sister; Kirino is acting like a little sister who's coming to terms with a lot of difficult stuff in her life, and is looking to her big brother for guidance and support, probably for the first time since they were little kids.

I could maybe see how people can misconstrue things, given Kirino's love for the games she plays; however, when she insists that she likes the games because the characters are cute and the storylines are touching, I'm compelled to believe her. She strikes me as the kind of person who likes cute things in general, and she's shown the strength of her convictions several times already - she likes what she likes, and no one is going to change that. But it doesn't look like she has any confusion between the games and her real-life relationship with her real big brother.

However, comma, that’s not to say that it’s completely unbelievable that it could go in the other direction. But I get the impression that even if it does, it will be for some honestly innocent reason like Kirino wanted to patch up her relationship with her brother, but she didn’t know how to go about doing it, and so she just kinda repressed it and it eventually came back out as Forbidden Love, and she started playing these games as an outlet for that, or something.

I don’t know! I could just be tilting at windmills here. This series is old enough and probably enough of you have seen it to have a chuckle at my interpretations and my guesses and stuff. And nobody spoil it for me, okay?
