the internet has actively blurred the lines between social and parasocial. if a social relationship is defined by two-way communication, and a parasocial relationship is defined by one-way communication, the internet creates a one-and-a-half-way mode of interaction. as audience members, we still construct relationships with the projected, imaginary version of a real person, but the real person behind that projection has the ability to converse back with us. it's their choice, though, so if they don't feel like engaging with audience members, whether through YouTube comments or Instagram messages, they are maintaining the veil between viewer and participant and the resulting parasociality. this isn't a bad thing; online creators are well within their rights to protect their own privacy! in fact, it's often safer. but it adds another layer to the question of ethics in parasocial relationships. am i projecting or am i interpreting? am i stalking or am i communicating?

It's always so weird to come down from the biology heavens to see what the average person believes about animals, plants, ecosystems, just the world around them. Danny working at Wayne Enterprises as some sort of engineer, uses the in-house app for all his blueprints and stuff

He starts getting notes from a coworker in-app, and assumes its this annoying older guy in his department who constantly undermines him because of his age, despite his education and past achievements (i feel like in this AU the Fentons react well to the reveal and they work together on a number of non-lethal ecto inventions that have Danny's name attached to them)

Except one day his coworker mentions never using the app, and Danny suddenly realizes there's only one other TD he could've been arguing with in the notes of the app

Do I still have too many feelings about Spamton? Apparently. :/ Anyway I had the Dealmakers and the Shadow Mantle on Susie for this fight (and the Devilsknife because I just could not beat Jevil peacefully on that save) and it got me wondering about what Spamton would be thinking about facing off with the person who'd enslaved and warped him into a puppet, haha. It had to be cathartic! Well, up until everyone got one-shotted but

Spamton isn't actually on her head or talking, he's in the glasses, but the little ghost form there is so you can see how he's reacting. I had to figure out how a pair of glasses could defend someone which was a bit tricky. He can't protect you from all damage but he can soak quite a bit! I picture the Shadow Mantle being made of shadows myself.
