Most of Bruce Wayne's issues would be solved if he held his kids as babies, Yay or Nay?

Hot take but nay. While it’s cute and the fandom loves the idea, I don’t think him seeing his kids as babies will teach him some sort of lesson on vulnerability or sacrifice that he hasn’t already learned and/or ignored meeting their older counterparts.

Kids don’t magically fix people, and neither do babies. Yes, sometimes they help us realize things. But to put that onus on them even unintentionally gives them more theoretical power than they actually have. Like when people swear having a baby will save a relationship and the world will change once that child is placed in your hands. Would it really? Or do we just hope and wish it would?

I remember, when I just started learning English, being SO dumbstruck at the concept of missing someone like i couldn’t comprehend what do y’all meant by “I miss YOU?????” Tf??? Wdym I miss you?? You’re the one that I miss??? I know it makes sense to you guys but before I was just like WTF?? cuz in french we say TU me manques-> basically YOUR absence is making me miss you/ you’re missing FROM ME.

And saying I miss you was like saying Je te manque in french which is like saying “you miss me” instead of “I miss you”

So I = Je, miss = manque, You= te

Oh so ->Je te manque? wrong! Tu me manques? Yes

And Tu = You, me (muh) manques = miss me (me is I in this context)

So does it means ->You miss me? NOPE! I miss you

See why I was losing my mind back then?

Tu me manques is I miss you

And it’s so mind blowing when you finally understand that french focuses on how the person’s absence is affecting you: you are the one suffering from the other’s absence, TU me manques -> your absence is making me miss you. Or the fact that you are not here is making me miss you (that’s how I explain it to myself lol)

But English focuses on how the speaker feel the person’s absence: I miss you -> I AM feeling your absence

I probably didn’t explain it right cuz now that I understand it perfectly it kinda blurs in my head and it’s like wait why was this confusing already?? Both make perfect sense??? ugh but I hope i got my point across 😭😭

i think one of the things that's really Gets Me (in a bad way) about the predominant value of "moral purity" in any sort of narrative especially among young people these days is that many if not most narratives outside of children's media are about extremely flawed human beings in a way that explores those flaws within the nature of being human. like, so many fictional characters are fucked up. that's their whole thing. that's the reason why those stories are written. because once you're no longer a child, the stories you read or watch or consume aren't to teach you right from wrong, they're to show you the nuances and messiness and moral complications that come from being a human in this world. but the people obsessed with purity still expect some sort of explicit "so this is the moral of the story :)" and "the good guys win and live happily ever after" and "any character with a notable flaw is irredeemably Bad" because they still expect everyone to have the neural development of a five year old

The new duo unit has had me thinking all day about a childhood-friends-into-arranged-marriage chrobin au...

Like imagine: the two of them become friends when Robin is still being hidden by her mother. Chrom likes having someone who treats him so normally, so he never mentions that he's the prince. They become really close and maybe develop little kid crushes on each other, but eventually things escalate with the war and they can't see each other anymore. Then, years later, their fathers arrange to marry them off to each other as a "good will" gesture between their countries (but probably each with their own nefarious agenda).

Could make it extra angsty if Chrom recognizes and remembers Robin when they meet again but at that point Robin *does* have amnesia and doesn't remember him at all.

honestly the idea that your first thought in a time loop is "how long before you try to kill someone" when faced with no consequences is just too far out there for me. if i was in a time loop where i thought there would be no consequences the next day i would call out of work every single repeated day and spend that whole day doing shit like reading books, watching anime, playing games that could be finished within 24 hours. probably not art of any kind cause i'd get mad about having my work undone every morning, but i could so some practice doodles and sketches. refine my craft.

"but wouldn't you want to try to kill someone if there were no consequences and possible benefits?" first, list what possible benefits you think that could lend you in a time loop situation. second, you are thinking SO fucking small. imagine going to a new restaurant every day and not caring how much you spent on the meal because the next day you didn't actually spend any money yet.
