#kinda wanted Anastasia vibes

Finally decided to upload this unfinished Steven Universe AU comic I sketched out in 2020 that went along with the animatic I made.

The premise was that the Diamonds found out about Steven’s existence earlier than canon and stole him away as a small child. The Diamonds retrieve Spinel for Steven to have a playmate, though she initially doesn’t believe Steven isn’t just Pink playing another cruel trick on her. It takes some sort of small but scary accident to prove to Spinel that this is a human (because gems don’t bleed), and she slowly warms up to him after that. (More notes if you’re interested under the cut.)

I had the plot laid out roughly as Steven seeking answers to his cryptic repetitive dreams, then hearing the Diamonds converse about Earth. The planet name sounds familiar so he winds up chasing Peridot to Earth and to the warp hub, warping from there and finding a half built beach house (which the Crystal Gems and Greg couldn’t bring themselves to finish after Steven’s kidnapping) and knowing it seems familiar but not knowing WHY. Steven meets and befriends Connie, there’s some almost-encounters with the Crystal Gems, but ultimately Peridot catches Steven and Spinel and says she won’t report a Diamond but they know they’d all be in trouble if they get caught so everyone keeps their mouth shut and go back to Homeworld.

Steven returns in secret to see Connie, but this time the Crystal Gems warp back in time to see him, attempting to stop his escape. Steven believes himself to be in danger and Spinel warps in at the wrong time, also assuming the same. Garnet says something that sparks a memory in Steven, but before he gets answers, Spinel springs into action to get him out of the perceived harm’s way and they return to Homeworld. Pearl and Amethyst make to follow through the warp, but Garnet stops them, saying if they follow, they would be shattered, and that Steven would return.

(That’s the tldr of it but here’s my chapter plans up to where I stopped working on it. I never officially typed it up but hopefully it’s legible.)

Here comes another update on “The Wishing Kingdom” where I give you a redesign and rewrite of Princess Asha of Rosas!

In this version of the story, she is the Princess of the wishgranters of Rosas who are Magnifico and Amaya, when she’s with her parents, she keeps her cool to live the life she lives, helping out with which wishes to grant for her people which means that she is still learning how to use magic, just like they taught her to do.

Before she was the Princess, she was the daughter of an astronomy who believed that stars were used for guidance and if we wish hard enough, it says that the star will come down to grant your wish, but after her father died whilst spending her last time on the wishing tree with him, she later gets adopted by Magnifico and Amaya, making her a Princess.

On the day leading up to her 18th birthday, she doesn’t really know what it is she wishes for just yet because she still needed time to make her parents believe that she is capable of being the next wishgranter with her magic, but she actually sucks at it which leads her to feel like she doesn’t belong anywhere.

When she wishes on a star one day, the usual happens, Antares appears only to find out that he is the one and only wishing star who has 2 wishes of existence, her motives later change after discovering her parent’s secret later on in the story which was to bring her voice to restore the wishes to the people and learning how to take risks to save her kingdom.

Believe it or not, but for the design, I did take inspiration from Anastasia’s Once Upon A December dress cause I just know it looks magical and reminds me a bit of Cinderella.

Esmeralda and Pocahontas were the main inspirations for Asha’s design and her personality since in this rewrite, she is more reserved as well as being a free spirit, determined and introverted but her problem is that she doesn’t know how to do things properly and likes to give up easily but later learns to challenge herself into new expectations!

Her “I Want” song which is “This Wish” will still remain the same but with altered lyrics to fit the story and get to know a bit of her character, she will also get another song but possibly a lullaby that her father used to sing to her when she was younger, kinda like a “When You Wish Upon A Star” or “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes” vibe to pay homage to those types of songs.

That’s all for this rewrite and design of Asha, the next rewrite I’m going to try and create are Magnifico and Amaya who are the royal evil couple, which is coming soon!

This is gonna sound super arrogant, but if I come up with a fic idea that I want to be written, generally... I just write it. Or think about it, and then do nothing about it. That said, I have definitely thought of Sabezra ideas that @jessicas-pi and @seleneisrising would absolutely knock out of the park (pretty sure I thought about a Sabezra Anastasia au at one point? do you have any book (or movie recs) that have similar characters to James and Lily? I feel like when I am looking for enemies to lovers books, the characters are just off, or it's just like an aggressive perversion of a great trope. i will say that it's so tricky to find media that has the same dynamic... it's usually missing a few ingredients from the special sauce, imo — like, the way the characters interact feels the same but the social positions are inverted... or the vibes are similar but some key detail is kinda off... which is good AU fodder lmao but anyway i say this because the same is true of all of what im gonna recommend here and i want to set ur expectations to where mine tend to be when my jily vibe radar goes off. i.e., i will take the parts i like and enjoy what is there for what it is and then dream up an AU

I remember you guys asked for her a couple of years ago when I shared some work-in-progress-dolls in my stories, and here she finally is: Giselle!

I actually started her all over, using a different head than the Ariel one you can see in my story highlights. I originally bought the Aurora head to try for Anastasia but I kinda got Giselle-vibes off of it so I wanted to use it for her instead (I wasn't really happy with the Ariel sculpt anyway..). The hair was also kinda an accident. It used to be sunlit blonde nylon hair by @dollyhairofficial which I originally dyed to match Pepa's shade.. But again, I got the Giselle-vibes :D

What musicals the 2012 cast would love most

This was in part inspired by @fabuloustrash05 ‘s post about her Renet headcanons, where she mentioned that Renet likes historical musicals. You can find it here.

I mean, c’mon, it has gangs, violence, and at its core has a mushy love story. He will not admit he likes it as much as he does.

He seems like a Disney fan. You’d think I would’ve chosen Beauty and the Beast, but nah. The Little Mermaid fits him better (I’ve also been in this show). He’s so insecure about not being human, and he’s also from a big family with an overprotective father, so I think he’d relate to Ariel a lot. Plus she’s a redhead so there’s that lol. Maybe a bit on the nose, but I don’t care.

I got to see the show on tour!)

It’s my headcanon that Mona loves movies once Raph introduces her to them, so I think she’d like movie musicals more than stage musicals. Her favorite is Mulan. As a soldier herself, she respects how the film takes war seriously while still having uplifting and even funny moments throughout.

7. What story/headcanons do you feel the proudest of?

If I had to pick, the story I'm most proud of - even though it's certainly not my most popular by and means, and it desperately needs to be rewritten and edited - has to be Futuristic Lovers. It's basically a love letter to Treasure Planet and Anastasia, two of my absolute favorite movies when I was wee, and it took me almost 8 years to write. I honestly wouldn't recommend it to anyone because the first ten chapters are baaaaad, but I'm proud of it nonetheless if only because it's a monument to me that, hey, I can finish a project given enough time and the proper enrichment lol

16. What fanfic tropes do you avoid writing for?

What fanfic tropes won't I write? I don't really know here, I'm kinda blanking on this right now... I've been writing fic a long time, reading it even longer, so I know what I like to read and what I'll avoid, and I that kinda goes for writing, I guess. I can say for certain what genres I like and don't like, which very much includes tragedy. Don't like tragic and unhappy endings. I'm all for whump and angst trains, as long as the payoff is cathartic, but for me, I like a happy ending at the end of a bad day. Tend to avoid major character death, so I don't know that I'll ever write that unless it's already canon.

Over-Flanderizing a character is also extremely aggravating, as well as the incorporation of therapy speak in fics. Also hate when there's an overabundance of "consent is kinky" in any given fic. It's one thing if it's just a shameless pwp, it's another if it's a moment that takes me out of the fic. I like to keep my characters as in-character as possible, and that tends comes with a lot of Not Asking for Permission.

30. Do you write down all your ideas? What makes you decide to write one versus the other?

When I was still a tween, I used to write down any and every idea that popped into my head - had a dedicated ideas notebook and everything. Between then and now, after 14+ years, I've since lost that habit, but I've been trying to pick it back up. I try to at least jot down a general prompt idea in a dedicated notes folder on my phone now to at least revisit at a later date. If I have a scene haunting my every moment for more than a few hours, that tends to get scribbled down real quick, too, especially if it's for a wip I'm trying to work on.

Honestly, whatever winds up actually being written is what I happen to be vibing with at the time. Right now, I desperately want to write Blackice Hades/Persephone AU because I just saw some gorgeous fanart and Sefikura molestation in the back alleys of Wall Market cuz I've been playing FF7 Remake, because if I have one very specific kink, then it's boy's in skirts and being extremely uncomfortable about it (I'm not at all projecting, I swear).

So for my ocs it would kinda go like this

Maja - White, which is contrasting for her actual personality (since white resembles purity etc. And this bitch is anything but pure)

Freya - Turquoise, tbh I didn't put much thought into this one since she wasn't rlly made with an actual color in mind, I just picked it because it kinda resembles her eye color and looks okay on her

Anastasia - Black, but originally it was maroon. MAYBE it will change in the future but...it's black for now

Micah - Yellow, which is kind of symbolic considering she tries her best to be somewhat optimistic due to her sister (Yellow hoodie on top of a black shirt and stuff) but fails like 80% of the time.

Now for the counterparts:

Fran - As she is a counterpart to Freya, her color would be Teal, and I think it's self explanatory

Maisie - Micah's counterpart and her color is orange 🫶 it plays along with her character, as orange symbolizes warmth, confidence and optimism

Aree - Pink! But like, a neon kinda eyebleeding one. I just gave it for the overall vibes, literally any other neon would work, especially blue or purple. Also I didn't mention it but she's Anastasia's counterpart.

Mallory - Also white, or grey, idk tbh. If it was grey it would be very light, but at the same time I'd want to keep it white for the sake of plot. Mallory kinda has her life together, Maja doesn't, and that's why Maja is more mean to her than to most (which can count as a death sentence). Mallory symbolizes the actual peace and stability white represents, while Maja contrasts it with her chaotic, borderline obnoxious personality.

I never uploaded these concept doodles I did of ocs of mine. I'm sure some of them are obvious as to what barcodes I scrubbed off for them, but regardless we got some non-fandom characters that I'm still really endeared to - you'll see them crop up in my animations a lot! And the animations are why these sketches exist so I had a decent enough reference for drawing? Decent. Not perfect since my first Celes one was way off model, but regardless

Diana Wrenreth (she/her) - she's been one of my oldest ocs and one I've had for a long while now. She and her twin, Hestia, are mixed kids - with Diana taking after their Moirai father, and Hestia taking after their Dulla mother. So, half elves to a degree but also not. Their father came from one of the few draconic Moirai lines left so Diana's a bit of a raptor/wyvern, but has that Dulla knack for wrangling and befriending fiends and as such is a horse girl but...yeah the horse is a six legged carnivorous hellhorse. She's like...I think 5'6", mostly uses darkness and ice, is bisexual, and has two girlfriends - Andrea, and Anastasia

Hestia Wrenreth (she/her) - Diana's twin sister (so also 5'6") who leans more Dulla than Moirai. She's a lesbian who's a bit haughty, but I don't really do much with her than have her stand in contrast to Diana. Mostly because Diana gets into trouble a lot while Hestia tries to keep her head down. Like the name implies, she's fire aspected and whatnot, and she has a girlfriend in this oc of mine named Rose (shut up), but otherwise just keeps her head down.

Andrea Hunt (she/her) - so this is my huge werewolf butch. Her family is the head of her hometown and they want her to follow suit, but she really doesn't vibe with that. So she's constantly skipping town to hang out with her girlfriends. Really obnoxious jock type, 6'3" or so, and a lot of fun. Like I said, butch lesbian and her girlfriends are Diana and Anastasia

Anastasia Spiros (she/her) - it's gonna be really obvious what she used to be in a second, but Anastasia is another mixed kid. She's a 6'1" Moirai and Einhenjar, but was raised by her Einhen father since her Moirai mother (one from an equine line) abandoned her. Her dad did what he could, but she was self raised and self taught for most of her life regardless. Still loves her dads (yes, dads! he now has a half-elf botanist husband), but she'd rather focus on herself since it's all she's done. Due to her mother being an equine Moirai, Ana inherited those traits but...She got stuck with warped, permanent horse hoof legs. Her wings are retractable, but the hooves are permanent (okay yeah she used to be an aasimar/tiefling). She's a femme lesbian and is with Andrea and Diana

Rhombi Nerodi (he/him exclus) - another mixed kid, this time an Einhenjar and a Changling. Rhombi's got a very devil may care attitude and kinda lives each day like it's his last. Einhenjar don't really take too well other Einhenjar they can't control - be them banished, or mixed kids like Rhombi and Anastasia - so they often don't let them stay unaffiliated with the Barracks for very long and this ends up with them hunting Einhen rogues down. It's in part to keep their actual nature in check since they project a noble Men Only thing, but they're really these fucked up eldritch monstrosities - and Rhombi? With his mother being a Changling? Yeah, his form is very fluid and he likes to reflect that when possible. Beyond, he's also living proof that Einhenjar aren't all cis men only (with daughters tending to be near 100% like the moms, a direct opposite to Valkyrie): Rhombi's a trans man. So him being a Changling's kid wound up being the biggest boon to him. He's bisexual and polyamorous, and in an open relationship with his loving girlfriend, Celes.

Celestrias Stratos (she/her) - Celes is fun, I love her. She's 5'8", a Moirai from a sea snake line, and a roboticist and makes her own prosthetics. Unlike the rest of the cast, she's not from the main area (Daedrus), and instead from a really different content called Essios. All Moirai that live there are of aquatic or avian lines, like Celes' sea snake line, and they coexist with peoples not seen in Daedrus like various centaurs or true elves (elfin rather than elven - the elfin are split into two groups and both are winged, while the elven were originally called Seelie and are split into two groups with four subgroups in each). This content also doesn't ban technology the way Daedrus does, which is why Celes is Like This. She got quickly adopted into the main group, and wound up dating Rhombi. She's a demi-bisexual in an open relationship with her boyfriend, and yes it is something they both use

Pricus Marinus (he/they) - 6'1" quiet guy. He's a Dulla from where Diana and Hestia grew up and is very good friends with them and Rhombi, the latter of whom he does a lot of work with. Don't let the soft boi stuff fool you, this guy is built underneath the heavy clothes. He's a farmboy who's good with both animals and fiends and just way prefers to be by himself? Nerd, soft spoken, yet can and will kick your ass if it comes down to it. I haven't really figured out much for him besides being just the Quiet One of the group, but I do know that he's bisexual because that's mandatory

Neilos Metaxas (he/him) - okay so this douche. 6'3", I'm not sure how I'm gonna do his color scheme but it needs to scream douchebag and sleezy but uh. Yeah he's another Moirai from Essios, but he's not apart of the group. He's specifically over here trying to track down Celes because he's got this warped idea of their relationship because he's a roboticist who sees himself as her one and only rival where as she doesn't even give him the time of day? The bracers are docking stations for drone stuff he uses. As far as Moirai go, he's not a recognizable animal from irl because he's technically descended from a snake line but it somewhere got mixed with some centaurs and so now he's just this. Big scaly "centaur" that has the general shape of one, but has a stupid long snake tail, a snake head and hood and it's just fucking weird looking. But also he's 9ft tall like that. Anyways, he thinks he's straight because of the Celes stuff but he's confusing envy for attraction and this bitch is gay. And an antag.

Avalon Tellus (she/her exclus) - this is another old ass oc that's gone through a lot of revisions. Avalon is a Moirai and a bounty hunter that specializes in taking down dragons. As far as marks go, dragons are...well they're tricky because first you gotta find the human form they hide in and then contend with their big ass dragon form. Avalon is one of the few that intentionally tries to keep them alive, so she usually gets hired by people trying to track down family that are being difficult. And that's how she met her current boyfriend, Akuma - she kicked his ass because his cousin wanted some sense beat into him, then the cousin changed the terms of the contract from "bring him back" to "no, you gotta guard him now". Part of what makes Avalon a pretty adept one is the fact that she's from a draconic line of Moirai, so she often leads like she's not but it ends up in a fight between two very large dragons (though since she's a Moirai, she doesn't look like any of the dragons that can be found in Daedrus). Because of Akuma being their godfather, she helped raise Diana and Hestia (and their brother, Marcus) when their parents were killed. More so the twins, but regardless she's been more of a parental figure to them than their own parents got to be. She's a bisexual trans woman, and like I said her boyfriend is a really obnoxious dragon named Akuma and they're assholes and stuck with each other now .w.

🦋 tell us about your current wip

My main WIP right now is called "Black and White", but since I'm already working on a formal WIP introduction, I'll tell you about my other current WIP, which still has no title and I will refer to as "the dystopia WIP" until I find one.

The story follows four failed revolutionaries and a boy with no memories as they try to flee from their country after an unsuccessful insurgence against the government. Along the way, we hear their life stories and learn more about their relations to each other, all the while they attempt to raise this kid.

In this capitalist hellscape of a world, everything (and I do mean everything) is owned by private companies, be it the military, the education system, etc., with the owners having basically nobility status. And the kid believes himself to be the long-lost younger brother of the man that owns the entire national health service and wants to return home, all Anastasia-style.

The five main characters do form a Found Family along the way, which is kinda the main focus.

The general vibe of the plot is just "what if we slapped together Anastasia, Les Mis and Oscar Wilde's Vera; the Nihilist but also made it GAY".

I've done a lot of worldbuilding for this WIP and I've had so much fun with it, making up countries, cities, fashion styles, architecture, literature and whole artistic movements. There's a lot of visual worldbuilding, each character's aesthetic being based more or less on a specific culture, but with more general stuff being grounded in Portuguese culture (bc it's my culture and I get to do whatever I want with it).

This whole visual worldbuilding thing is why I want this to be a graphic novel/webcomic, but it is also the reason I'm procrastinating because omg that's scary as hell.

Anyway, I hope I could get you interested in this story! God knows I need encouragement...

I have a lot of feelings about the casting for the new Dutch Les Mis production next year. Or well at least about my first impressions about those who are already casted. So imma make a post about it whether you like it or not.

The new Dutch production is just as in the West End the new production and apparently Mackintosh was very closely involved (hurray /s)

Let's start with Valjean: honestly my first impression of the actor was "Oh he'd make a great Dmitri in Anastasia." (Turned out he did play Dmitri in the Dutch run of Anastasia so I was right about that.) I don't know his voice well enough to say anything about whether he can sing Valjean's songs and I am not sure if he's classically trained. But he does have a pretty good voice from what I could find so far. My main issue is though, that he looks younger than Enjolras. This is more an issue with the Enjolras casting but I'll touch onto that later. I'd have to see him in costume before I can make any final judgements about him looking young being an issue, but it's a bit worrying. He's reading the brick though

Javert: honestly this is a casting I'm exited for. Freek Bartels was a pretty great Enjolras during the Dutch 2008 run and I feel like he would make a great Javert too. At first I wasn't too sure if he could get the unhinged vibes Javert has, but now I think about it more, I am pretty sure he can and will. He has been in a lot of shows including several classic shows and, like I mentioned, Les Mis before. So Freek, don't let me down

Enjolras: where do I even start.. not to say that Enjolras has to he played by the hottest actors out there, but Enjolras is supposed to have a certain charm around him. This actor has none of that. He's the most generic looking man I have ever seen (absolutely no offence), he looks honestly a bit too old and from the few clips of him I could find, it didn't look like he has the most stage presence, which I think is quite an important thing for Enjolras to have. You have to believe everyone wants to follow this man, you have to believe and understand why Grantaire looks up to this man so much. You have to believe him in his role and in his passion. Maybe Mark (the actor) will end up surprising me, but I don't have much hope. However, credit where credit is due, he does have a pretty good voice and looking at where he studied and his former roles he is probably classically trained or at least has been in several classical musicals before. So at least he can bring the opera sound to the performance that it's supposed to have.

Éponine: this is a casting that doesn't suprise me. A few days before I knew they were gonna bring Les Mis back I was literally thinking about how, if they were gonna bring les mis back, Vajèn van den Bosch would be cast as either Éponine or Cosette. This is mostly because she's Vajèn cause she's just kinda everywhere, but also because she is a very good actress and singer. She has been in several classical musicals and she absolutely has the voice for the role of Éponine.

Cosette: I am pretty sure the actress just graduated. And this seems to be her first big musical so all I can say is that I'm exited for her. I am sure she'll do great.

Fantine: ah yes, Channah. I've seen her in a show before as older Nala in the Lion King. This was a long time ago though and I don't remeber much of her performance. The only other role I could find was that she apparently played Tina in the German run of the Tina Turner musical and that she makes (Christian) pop music now. Honestly she can sing, but I am really worried she's just gonna sound like a popsinger instead of bringing the classical sound she's supposed to have in the role.

And last for now, Madame Thénardier: apparently Mackintosh was insanely enthusiastic about her casting but idk if that's even good anymore. Personally I don't know her and I could find that many clips of her so all I can say is that she looks very similar to most actresses cast in this role.

I am still confused about the fact that they already casted Madame Thénardier but not Marius?? Nor Thénardier himself?? There was this "les mis in a nutshell" thing the new cast did, and obviously Marius was mentioned several times. However, because there was no actor playing Marius yet, he couldn't give his side of the story so if you didn't know anything about the show you have absolutely no idea who this random Marius dude they're talking about is.

They also keep saying they've casted all the main characters, but then where's Marius?? Is Madame Thénardier a main character? And not her husband who has more to do? I am confused.

So I saw you were reading the bear and the nightingale and I read like a couple of chapters but didn’t really get into. I’m glad you’re enjoying and also saw you were looking for recs and thought maybe I’ll drop my two scents. I read this series called The Bone Season (4 of 7 books out right now) and it’s really amazing. It takes place in the future in London. The main character’s name is Paige and she’s what they call a dream walker and the love story is part enemies to lovers and also forbidden love. It’s amazing!! Also, Blood Heir/Red Tigress sorta of Anastasia. I think you’ll like it. The air awakens series obviously. It’s 5 books but they’re not that long and it’s amazing. The main character is Vhella and she’s a wind walk and the guy aldrik is a prince all broody and mean. They call him the fire lord and for that he sorta reminds me of Zuko from ATLA. By the same author as the air awakens series, the alchemists of Loom trilogy is incredible too. Serpent & Dove/Blood & Honey are also great. Kinda like Nina Matthias vibes because the girl is witch and the guy is a witch-hunter. She’s also very outspoken and he’s also getting embarrassed. It’s cute. Dance of Thieves/Vow of Thieves also great. They’re sorta like SOC, I mean the girl’s name is Kazi and she’s a very notorious thief who’s hired by the queen to quietly steal a person from a very secure place. Also, this is how you lose a time war is a great book that I haven’t finished but they parts I read were great. It’s a really small book, not a lot of pages at all, I think you can finish it in a couple hours if it interests you. And finally, the inheritance trilogy, it’s about gods living in world with humans and it’s also a great read. I’m currently reading the wheel of time but it’s really long. 12 books and it’s very unlikely I’ll get to all of them but the story and characters are incredible. I love it alot and I’d recommend it if you’re willing to read it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ok so I'm really excited about these! I'm going to add every single one to my tbr, because you always read my recs and it's so much fun for us to discuss stuff together! Blood Heir is the series I'm going to be reading as soon as I finish The Winternight Trilogy so I'll be reading that one soon.

I'm really excited about so many of these because I've heard of them or wanted to read some already, especially Air Awakens.

And I understand that Winternight isn't for everyone haha. There are definitely some slow moments but I'm enjoying the characterization and beautiful prose! Also, you HAVE to read Uprooted <3

i want to talk about cinderella 3 so fuck you guys and your cinderella kin-yarn au. A Cinderella 3 kin-yarn au would be far better bc cinderella 3 is superior in every damn way. It's got:

1. More screen time for the main two (not together but... hey! it vibes)

2. GOOD Characterization for the prince, his dad, cinderella, and Anastasia (maybe the stepmother too but not reallyyy) 3. cinderella isn't on easy mode because plot

4. prince jumps out the window

5. time travel magic /alternate universe kinda story which is neat

6. the mice don't take up 80% of the damn movie which gives Cinderella more time to be a protaganist

7. the dad is likeable this time

8. the only two in the movie (pog) get a song and honestly I DON'T hate it. Like their voices are annoying but not horrible

9. tbh the songs in general are good

10. it should be the second movie i'm upset bc #2 was bad and 3 is surprisingly good for a sequel

Sorting once upon a time in wonderland

WILL SCARLET: SNAKE/LION Will Scarlet Something I found interesting is that for a thief he hates lying lol and he is terrible at it as well. Must be the lion sec. I have no idea how the merry men thing worked for him.

The snake doesn't need much explanation, he literally cares to help or not depending on whether you're one of his people. He was petrified (sort of) for a while but then immediately latched on to one person (Alice) after she helped him. He doesn't have any problem with doing crimes (except the lying to people who believe in him part) He's the down-to-earth cynic jokey sidekick to Alice the idealistic heroine ! < 3 I actually find it interesting how like, he's a rootable character and other characters say he's 'a good man', but that's only Anastasia and Alice saying that so like hdkjshkj he's a good friend and is amazing to his people! But I find it funny that people think of him in an heroic way when the moment Alice or Anastasia aren't involved he doesn't really care and he likes doing crimes haha. He ocasionally will like do liony choices bc that's what Alice would do and he trusts her but in general he's. just a rogue character who loves his people and I love him.

ALICE: LION/LION

Alice is the hero of this story. She has that liony thing of believing in her self and what she's seen and experienced even when NOBODY else does. Her and Cyrus have that 'you don't need proof for love just belief' idealist thing. She just. Wants to do the right thing it's pretty self explanatory. She has the conflict of being able to get revenge on people she thinks are evil but doesn't because that'd make her like them in her eyes (very liony reasoning). I find it interesting how kid Alice and kid Jafar both want to be seen by their parents... But she finds a lot more people who believe in her and that makes all the difference. (simplifying I know their early lifes are very different but I do think an ally would've changed Jafar's story)

She's a lion secondary! she may have a fun bird sec model bc she does have tools and uses them but it's more like, she knows the world bc she explored it and knows things from that, than actual bird sec. She doesn't plan much and thinks on the spot and is great and figuring out ways of situations like that! love her. She also cares a lot about being genuine and is frustrated when people are like, faking and lying and not being themselves.

CYRUS: LION/BIRD ? Cyrus is kinda hard to grasp as a character to me but he's such an idealist and we don't see him jumping much into stuff, he has 'tricks' but they're tricks that he learned. It's hard though because him being a genie is such a great tool so he could technically rely on that a lot for reasons but actually be an improvisary sec (the only thing we see of him pre-genie is him cheating at cards to scam people which could be something he learned aka bird or something he improvises?) However he just doesn't give off an improvisary vibe for me? He's very measured in his actions. So I'd say bird sec for him. Also I'd say lion because he, like Alice, wants to do the right thing and I get that vibe from him but he could be a bird as well, I just know he's an idealist mr. 'you don't need proof for love only faith'.

JAFAR: LION/bird? His dynamic with Anastasia seems to me like he probably has some improvisary somewhere which gives him an edge over her on some stuff but he also plans like she does. It looks like it was something he learned as an extra to me, more of a tool. Soo I would lean towards lion sec who built a bird secondary with Amara and focused all his being into obtaining power to get what he wants. One of his main traits as a kid was that he was brave and dared to do things that could get him hurt, like going to the sultan or looking at Amara's eyes. I think the whole sultan storyline not only fucks up his primary but also makes him feel like his secondary isn't enough, and we mostly see him being more lion sec as a grown up when he feels completely in control. He's very determined. I guess he could also be a rapid fire bird but idk to me this combo makes more sense. He uses actor bird when he pretends to be Alice's dad and we see him asking so many questions before so he has all the info for the role. Lion primary because he cared so much when he was younger about his dad recognizing him as his son even after (redacted) because that's his identity and his name is very important to him and it's all about principle and it being WRONG that he didn't get his rightful place on the court and the life he was meant to have. He pretends to be a snake for his partner and then goes lol kidding and his decisions are very.. you can tell he feels justified morally in a lion way. His morals get skewed A LOT (I'd say he's maybe exploded?) which makes sense considering *vague gesture at his whole backstory*. He also is very disgusted with Alice bc of the fact she's a young lion prim who didn't have the reality check he feels he had and so he thinks she's too naive and needs to wake up and stop believing in anything being 'right' or 'wrong' in a way that feels very 'I'm projecting' at his young self. The way he reacts to Alice's dad is very much him projecting as well.

ANASTASIA: SNAKE/BIRD (with badger primary model?)

Like Will, Anastasia's motivations are very clear cut, she wants to have a good life with the people she loves. However, she starts out conflicted because she just left her mom and is struggling with this idea of fame and happiness that her mom instilled of her would be her future. I also think this is the first time she's on her own and is young and idealistic about how easy it'll be to survive just the two of them, so finding that it's difficult scared her. I think she had a catherine from wuthering heights moment of, what if I can have both yknow. And then there's a new mother figure who seems to actually care for her, which is what she's always wanted. But anyway she seems to try and build a badger model to try and feel happier after the whole (redacted), but it doesn't work because she's faking it and doesn't truly build connections. She later builds a true badger model and tries to be better after seeing the actual real people she hurt, which works better now because she's doing it while embracing her snake and focusing on individual people rather than just knowing about it from a distance and while being burned AND while thinking there's no point to it because of her plan. Anyway. I don't think you can argue for anything but snake for Anastasia, she would do ANYTHING to get her person back as it's shown and any redeeming behaviour we see from her is connected to her person.

Bird sec bc this girl can't improvise to save her life and plans everything out very long term and is so stressed when something in the plan goes wrong. And she has an actor bird for her queen perfomance (and the way she starts with it is so bird, just repeats a quote from someone else until she gets the right affection).

Originally, four years ago, I wanted them to be a trans guy, but I chickened out of it in the last minute because I was worried someone would say he doesn’t look trans enough...I’m sorry about thinking that way. I have learned since then.

He’s using they/he in this version to kinda reflect both who I originally wanted them to be in the legacy and who they were, if that makes any sense.

(yes they’re the sim that was called Anastasia previously but they don’t use it anymore so forget it)

I don’t remember much about him from the original legacy. They liked pirates and worked for a charity shop or something like that? Their girlfriend was an adoptive daughter of Malcolm Landgraab and Caleb Vatore. (thanks MCCC, and yes Caleb really wants to be included in all my legacies in some way, it’s his only goal and purpose in life).
