One year ago today, I started Prophetic Hijinks.

Or more accurately, I drew a single comic of Bruno getting a sweet little wave from a kind soul who didn’t know his baggage, and it snowballed from there.

I never would have guessed such a small comic, would balloon into a long running linear story arc, and darn near 100 comics!

I am thankful that I kept going and was able to share the worlds, stories and scenarios that reside inside my head. I always wanted to work in animation, and this project gave me a little taste of storytelling. As well as gave me the motivation to draw every day, and see myself improve dramatically. But, I have hit a satisfying fruition point. Covering the major story beats I wanted to tackle with the completion of the wedding comic.

That’s not to say that there won’t be more comics in the future, but definitely not at the same goal at one or two a week.

I am still in love with Encanto and in particular the fandom so full of many wonderful, funny and creative people, and their marvelous OC’s. I am so grateful to fans who stuck with my comic, and who love Elena so much they celebrate her happiness (and retribution &@$& Carlos) right along with her.

So thank you all so much and shoutout to all those who keep the Encanto fandom so vibrant and strong.

As with @kinschi 's DTIYS forever ago... I have created two versions- the first being flat color (how I start out this type of artwork) and the second being the final product!

Ah, talking about their heights, funny story. In the last local con I went as Pepa Madrigal, right? And we found a Bruno! It was really cool, we hugged and each time he was around my stand he talked to me ("¡adiós, hermanita!").

But as I said, I'm short like Bruno, and this Bruno was super tall. SO! We have a cute photo, but we look like we are in the Julieta's nightmare that @kinschi did.

17. What inspires you?

Oh wow. All the artists I've followed and been entranced by over the past ten years. I think they/y’all are the only reason I've been able to jump back into drawing as (highly relatively) quickly as I have: trying to apply what I've learned through observation. I'm still at 0%, while the people I admire are at like... 100+%

The “over the past ten years” doesn’t work with the Encanto fandom/people I’ve met on Tumblr, of course, but shout out to you (Jasper, Cap’n), @seanettlles, @glitternightingale, @junosaccount, @acewithapaintbrush, @mmollymercury, @jennjiart, @lvnamuraart, @sionnaach, @unskilled-dabbler, @halseyquinn, @omgcheez, @masao-micchi, @kinschi, @sketchnwhatevr, and ALL OF Y’ALL. So talented and young wtf.

Also: emotions guide me through everything, be it writing or drawing. And hands, for some reason? Even if I can't draw them lol or if they don't appear in the final drawing, I feel like I’m always thinking about what The Hands are doing.

18. Do you have any larger projects you'd like to pursue? Like comics, shortfilm, a series etc?

A comic, for sure!

I don’t have any drawing apps or anything like that so I decided to test out my new watercolor pencils with @kinschi DIYS Encanto challenge. All I can see are my flaws in this but my students were impressed lol.

Meet Kinschi! She can be found on tumblr as kinschi and on twitter and instagram as kinschi_draws. To Kinschi, women alone are amazing enough, but when you give them swords they are undefeatable and probably the cause of her gay awakening. 

She has also always wanted to have a sword and be able to radiate that powerful sword lesbian energy herself. Broads and Broadswords is an art zine celebrating swords, girls with swords, nonbinary people with swords, and any combination therein. Proceeds will be donated to the Transgender Law Center.

With one second left until total shutdown, Falman chose to mentally simulate an impossible scenario in which Roy Mustang escaped alive.  The simulation pleased him.

Havoc wondered for a moment how Breda had crossed the battlefield to reach him.  But of course the Force had reunited them before the end.  Breda’s callused fingers rubbed life into the back of Havoc’s hand.  “It’s okay,” Havoc said.  “It’s okay.  Look for the Force, and you will always find me.”  He tried to smile, but he was no longer sure he could.  The words of the chant echoed in his heart once more before he died: I am one with the Force and the Force is with me.

(When death had come for him in the shadow of the walker, he had faced it with defiance.  Now there was grief.  There was no fear.  Heymans Breda died in pain, but it did not last long.)

Kain Fuery heard the ring of metal once, twice, in the cabin, and then the soft clatter of something rolling across the deck.  He turned in time to glimpse the detonator.  He heard nothing as the cabin flared impossibly bright.  Like a pilot should, he died with his ship.
