~Handsome Stranger | 1 | Gwi
Tumblr media
French: /the petals of love/
Pairing: Gwi x fem! noble! Reader
Summary: A heartless vampire falls in love for the first time in centuries of loneliness. Passion, secrets, betrayal and love drown the royal palace. Will your love for Gwi prevail through time or will it wither away like a fallen rose petal? Maybe love was his punishment, maybe love was your salvation. Or wasn't it a curse to you both? Because, who can beat a race against time? Who can love in the dark? Who can love without truth? After all, even the most beautiful flower will wither away and end in ashes of time, remembered only by the one who cherished her the most.
Warnings: strangers to lovers? fluff, angst, minor injury, blood, this is a light chapter tbh. Mentions of marriage, talks about arranged marriage, age gap (huge), historical! AU, royal! AU?, cannon copilant, (let me know if I missed anything!)
Word Count: 2.3k words
A/N: Guys, I have fallen in love. In honour of my new obsession called Lee Soo Hyuk I'll write this story and hopefully many more! I'll warn you, this story will get darker as it progresses and will follow canon although it is settled before the series so the characters from The Scholar Who Walks The Night will not appear in this fic (apart from Gwi, obviously). This is some sort of a prequel so I hope you will enjoy it!
I'll update when I have time, dears. I just started my business and I'm also working part-time while also going to college at night so, yeah. I'll do my best so please let me know your thoughts! Happy reading everyone :)

Gwi looked at her with an intriguing gaze, eyes sharp under the candles' light.
"I would not hesitate to let someone as clever as you take the throne. You remind me of a woman I used to know. That woman was clever and ambitious like you."
Hye-Ryeong swallowed, testing the waters with her next question.
"Did you care for her?"
Gwi looked at the distance, as if his mind was transported back to his memories from centuries ago.
"I had feelings for her. I had never cared for a mortal woman before."
Some tension filled the cave, the flickering candles allowing soft light to illuminate the place.
"What happened to that woman?"
Asked Hye-Ryeong once more, wanting to know if there was only another small crumb of the vampire's past who sat in front of her.
"I killed her."
Was his answer, the words came tumbling from his lips without resistance at all but there was a heaviness in his voice that made a tremble travel down her spine. Gwi looked up at her, his eyes swarming with the memory of his distant love.
"I could not help it. She had my child without my knowledge."
Hye-Ryeong looked at the man before her, with almost sympathy in her gaze. Almost. The idea of him killing someone he loved made her stomach twist with emotions she wasn't quick enough to grasp.
"A child between a vampire and a human being is said to kill vampires."
His voice sounded deeper than usual, dripping with the disgrace of his actions.
"What happened to the child?"
She asked in an almost shy way, for a moment fearing what his reaction to such an inquiry would be.
"The child likely died since it occurred over 200 years ago."
Gwi looked down at the drawing he was making, the image of his love made memories he had long since buried in his mind resurface, opening scars and bleeding with poisonous remorse for what he had done to the only woman he had loved in his long life and who also loved him back.
Tumblr media
Darkness fell over the village, clouds covered the moon, not allowing any kind of light to illuminate the dark city. The royal palace was silent, as if it were desolate. No soul walked through the gardens, no oil was being burned. Everything was still. Everything swam in a dark sea.
Except for one soul who walked the royal grounds as if he owned it. In a way, he did. Gwi, was his name. A name that few knew but all to whose existence lived in their minds feared to no tremor.
He walked among the night. Watched over the village. His domain. His kingdom. For he had ruled over the most powerful man in Goryeo for years. Through generation over generation of royal princes. He ruled it all. He owned it all. He had it all to his reach, everything a human would ever want in their miserably short life he had conquered it.
He paraded through the still gardens, a soft yet cold breeze made his silky dark hair fly softly. A sigh escaped his lips, the full moon was approaching and that only meant he'd have to go hunt once more. Like every month.
Gwi halted in his steps when he smelled the sweetest aroma he had ever felt in his astonishingly long life. His feet walked with a mind of their own, going toward such sweetness he smelled through the air and made his eyes cloud with crimson desire.
Blood.
That was what he smelled. The substance that he needed, craved to live. Blood was life to humans, and it also meant life to vampires like himself. The smell got stronger, he felt his heart beat in his chest wildly in anticipation.
However, he had to stop himself before approaching the source of such an electable aroma. Gwi hid behind some bushes, his curiosity and intrigue getting the best of him as he watched a young woman crouched down on the ground, a finger between her lips as she sucked her own blood from her small injury.
You had left your room late at night in order to find some peace among the darkness. Your mind was troubled, so was your heart. You've had little time for yourself the last few months, leaving the night as your only free time of your day. As ironic as it sounded.
While walking the large palace grounds, you encountered a small hidden garden filled with beautiful roses. In the midst of your curiosity, you bent down and picked one, then another and another. Already thinking that you could put it in a nice vase back in your room when you returned. But a hiss escaped your lips as a thorn teared at your flesh and blood oozed out of the small wound.
You placed the rustic bouquet on the ground and sucked on the injury, trying to stop the bleeding. However, a sudden noise made you halt in your actions. You looked around, the little lamp you had brought with yourself did little to illuminate your surroundings.
You knew you shouldn't be out of your room alone, especially at night. The warning of your father was still fresh on your memory from the first time he caught you leaving the safety of your bedroom. With quick movements you grabbed your lamp and walked hastily back to your room, leaving the roses behind. Completely unaware of the vampire watching over your retreating figure as his eyes held curiosity for that beautiful woman with a delighting scent.
Tumblr media
Days passed and he was still mesmerised by that woman he saw in the gardens the other night. Gwi sat on his throne, daytime illuminated the city yet he was forced to remain in his underground palace. A beautiful construction between the darkness. His own paradise.
The chief counselor was suddenly in his presence. The old man bowed down slowly at the vampire before greeting him with irony dripping from his words.
"My Lord, thank you for allowing me this audience with you. I am truly honoured to be in your presence."
Gwi sighed, already bored with this interview as he signalled him to start saying what he wanted to say.
"My Lord, you know everything that occurs in these palace walls. Every gossip and truth is delivered to you first."
"Get on with it."
The Chief Counselor gulped, his hands tangling in front of him to stop them from fidgeting before he spoke once more.
"As you may know, my daughter has been ready for marriage for years now but I would like your wise opinion, My Lord. She possesses an extraordinary beauty and I know her marriage would be beneficial to the council."
Now that picked Gwi's interest. He leaned forward on his throne, his eyes piercing as he looked directly to the Chief Counselor's intimidated eyes.
"Who do you have in mind, Counselor Lee?"
The old man lifted his head in an almost challenging way that Gwi didn't like at all.
"Kang Ju Won, My Lord."
Gwi hummed to himself, as if he were genuinely interested in this marriage. Perhaps a part of him was as Jun Won had been rebellious against Gwi's orders. Not enough to get him killed yet... but still something that the vampire despised with all his being for loyalty is the most important thing in the world, even more so than love.
"Your beautiful daughter shouldn't go to waste with an old man like him but I will not deny how advantageous that marriage will be for me. You can start the preparations for the wedding, Counselor Lee."
The latter bowed down, not being able to suppress the smile that stretched over his aged features.
"I will, My Lord. Thank you for giving your consent, your opinion is the only thing that matters to me."
Gwi looked at him with an emotionless gaze, his sharp features looking even sharper as the candles around him flickered ever so softly. He gestured for the counselor to leave and he did so silently. Leaving the vampire alone with his thoughts once more in his enormous underground palace.
Tumblr media
He didn't know why he had left his palace that night. The full moon was tomorrow, his senses and instincts were sharper than ever but Gwi found himself walking through the gardens like a couple of days ago when he saw the mysterious woman of the roses and sweet scent.
A scent he hadn't been able to forget, in fact it had impregnated into his memories and something within him prompted him to search for her once more.
He halted in his steps when he heard a soft sound coming from around some bushes. Gwi turned around, curious as ever so as to know the source of the sniff-like sound. He rounded a corner and was met with the same woman from the other night. He looked at the way she was crouched in front of the same roses, her elegant dress puffing around her yet this time she was crying.
"A rose never cries, let alone at night."
You gasped at the sudden voice that spoke next to you. It startled you, causing you to fall from your crouching position directly into the ground. You looked up only to spot a tall and handsome man dressed in dark robes with pale skin and long, dark hair. His voice, deep as the ocean, made you shiver as you found yourself under his intense gaze.
"Who are you?"
The man before you tilted his head to the right ever so slightly, the motion made you gulp for some strange reason. He was astonishingly beautiful with a mysterious aura around him that told you to get away but at the same time pulled you to not take a step back and leave his presence.
"Why are you crying?"
He completely disregarded your question, not that you noticed as you were enthralled into his amazing looks and that voice of his... it made you tingle all over your body. It almost seemed as if he had hypnotised you. Perhaps he did. At the lack of your response he crouched down, taking in your features with his sharp and dark eyes that looked like he held a starless galaxy in his irises.
You sniffled, wiping the remaining tears from your cheek with the back of your hand as you broke eye contact with the handsome stranger, eyes setting on your lap as you spoke once more.
"My father is going to marry me off."
Gwi sat down, he didn't know why he did it. He didn't know why he was there, let alone why he engaged in conversation with the beautiful woman of the magnificent natural perfume.
"What a lucky man for he'll get a beautiful wife."
You scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest as you looked at him, nearly gasping at the proximity.
"I don't want to get married. Not yet at least."
He lifted an eyebrow at your open statement, at your honesty despite you both being strangers. But something about that honesty stirred a part of him he didn't want to admit he had in the first place.
"Who is your father, petal?"
The rumbling of his voice was as deep as thunder. It made you swallow as you looked into his eyes.
"Lee Beom Seok."
Gwi had to hide the surprise from his face at the name that left your lips. So you were the counselor's daughter. Now it kind of made sense for your father to want to marry you off for you were, indeed, rather beautiful. No other mortal woman has ever been that mesmerising to the vampire before in his long life. That is until you came.
"Do you really wish for the marriage to be cancelled?"
He said in that thunderous voice of his you couldn't help but nod to answer him, not finding words to speak your own desire. Gwi sighed before he stood up while you watched his movements, elegant on its own.
"I can make that happen, petal."
You sniffled at his words. Your hands fidgeted with the ornament on your dress as you looked up at the handsome stranger who offered you a way out of the nightmare you were going to be forced to live in.
"I can stop your marriage from happening, that is if you come with me."
He extended his hand toward you, a silent invitation to take it. Take it and free yourself from this unwanted marriage but, what other chain going with him will put around your neck? You had learned the hard way that nothing is free in this cruel world and right now, you don't have much of a choice but to accept the last straw of hope given to you.
Your hand found home in his and Gwi pulled you up to your feet with a soft yet delicate motion. He wasn't going to admit it, let alone speak it out loud but... in a very deep part of his dead heart, he liked the feeling of your smaller hand in his large palm.
"You made the right choice, petal. Now tell me, what is your name?"
You felt how your heart quickened in your chest at the intensity in his dark eyes. You looked up and spoke in that voice he was starting to really like.
"Lee (y/n), My Lord."
Gwi smirked, pulling you to his side as he began walking back to his underground palace with your hand still clasped in his.
"From now on, you serve me, sweet petal. You are mine now."

~ Chapter 2. 02 ~
I apologize in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes and how poorly written this fanfic is. English is not my first language and together with my dyslexia ass things can go wrong I'm sorry.
Tumblr media
I watch as Hyun-su slides down against the wall opposite of me, taking out his phone from his pocket. I was still trying to control my breath from what just happened with my head facing the floor when I heard Hyun-su talk.
"I might as well just kill myself now."
A frown came on my face while I lifted my head.
"What?" I breathe out?
"At least then." He paused for a second before continuing.
"I can die a human being."
the whole time he was looking at his phone not giving me one look.
I was about to tell him he shouldn't do it. At least not yet, when I heard voices coming from outside the window. With a confused look, I stood up and walked to the window.
Carefully I pushed the curtains to the side looking if anything was in front of the window but there was nothing. I thought I just imagined it when I heard it again.
"What's that?" Hyun-su came standing beside me clearly hearing it as well.
I swallow thickly and with shaky hands, I slide the window open. The both of us looked outside trying to see if we could see the source of the voices.
"Look," Hyun-su whispered.
My eyes traveled down to where he was looking and saw a man hanging outside the window with ropes. What the hell was he doing? A little girl's voice was heard before we could see her head peeking out the window. The man looked up at her and that's when I recognized them.
"Mister Kim?"
I could see Hyun-su looking at me out of the corner of my eyes.
"You know them?" I nodded my head looking up.
"Yeah. I sometimes babysit his children. Su-yeong and Yeong-Su. They don't have a mom anymore and Mister Kim has to do it all on his own. So sometimes I babysit them when he has to go to work and stuff." I explain, before looking back at them.
The moment I looked back at them, my eyes widened. A monster, an eyeball-looking monster came from behind something right toward them. I heard Hyun-su saying get out of there, but the monster was already beside Mister Kim.
The moment he laid eyes on the monster his grip on the rope lossen before losing it completely.
His scream together with the kids filled the air while he fell. I felt Hyun-su look away, but I couldn't. His screaming was soon replaced with an awful sound when he hit the ground. My legs were shaking underneath me while tears began to fill my eyes.
The kids were screaming for their dad which quickly changed to just regular screaming when the eyeball monster appeared in front of their open window.
"Su-Yeong, Yeong-Su," I whisper looking down in shock from what just happened.
Someone grabbed my shoulder pulling me away from the window. I blink a few times before seeing Hyun-su close the window and the curtains.
The both of us were breathing heavily, trying to process what the hell we just saw. In the background, I could hear the kids screaming in fear, but I couldn't move I was just looking at the closed window.
Something inside of me was screaming to do something, to just move, but I couldn't.
The light of the outside hit my face making me snap out of my daze. I watch as Hyun-su throws his computer screen out the window.
I was about to walk to him asking why he just did that when the sound of hitting something filled my ears. Hyun-su jumped back closing the window quickly, making me more confused.
I took a step forward, but he quickly moved away from the window taking me with him.
"What.." I try to say, but he just puts a hand on my mouth cutting me off. My hand went to his trying to protest when the ringing in my ears came again, followed by a shadow casting over my face from the outside.
My eyes widened when I saw the eyeball monster standing in front of our window. Hyun-su let go of me to pick up the stick he had laid somewhere before moving back to where I was standing.
The two of us stood there looking at the monster while it looked at us up and down. I was scared that if we would move, it would do something.
Its head turned around revealing another eye, who looked more pissed than the other one before it burst through the window.
Before it could reach us Hyun-su had stabbed it in its eyes. While it was injured and trying to see again we ran to the door when I felt something smacking my body into the wall knocking the air or of me.
I tried to open my eyes and see what was happening, but when I did everything was blurry. I moved my arms around trying to sit back up, yet it felt like they were made out of jello.
A scream left my mouth making me cover myself with my arms when I heard something like a canon go off, followed by something hitting the floor and Hyun-su gasping and coaching. Removing my arms I try to blink more together by rubbing my eyes and slowly my vision for better.
It was still a little woozy, but I could see things clearing up. My head shot to Hyun-su and saw that he stood up from the ground moving to the window. A frown came to my face before also stood up to follow him. Standing still for a moment when I saw the eyeball part of the monster lying on the ground in front of me.
"Mister Han," I said relieved seeing him sitting on the window with what looked like a self-made weapon. We watch as he puts his weapon back inside before coming back with a bottle, gulping some down while looking at us.
"W..who is that?" Hyun-su asked from behind me.
"Your neighbor who saved our lives," I mutter out still a little in shock from what just happened.
I hear Hyun-su opening his mouth to say something, but Mister Han quickly puts a finger to his mouth telling us to be quiet. The both of us nodded before his body disappeared back inside for a second before coming back out with a board in his hand.
'They might come if they hear anything.'
He went back inside before coming back with another board with writing on it.
'Those things don't die.'
"No shit," I mutter out, thinking back at the almost decapitated grey monster.
He nodded his head downwards, which made both of us look. An audible gasp left my mouth when we saw a body lying on the ground with a long, but I mean really long neck. Suddenly it sat up while the neck detached itself from its body before standing up and walking away.
My eyes followed how it stumbled on without any problem. My eyes went back to the window of the kids, trying to see if I could see one of them, but I could only hear them scream for their dad.
"Mi-na," Hyun-su whispered from behind me.
I gave him a soft hmm looking back at him.
"Look." He pointed back at where Mister Han was making me look at him.
Again he had a board in his hand, but now there were different words on it.
"Do you want to save those kids?" I whisper out loud.

Myul Mang lived, after death. He lived. That is all that matters.
I love doom at your service so much😭 I'm rewatching it and I think I'll post think pieces on it after each episode.
I've seen so many reviews about people not enjoying the second half of this show and how a stellar cast was wasted on bad writing but for me, this show works even though I agree that the writing really was lacking in places.
It's funny how sometimes the things we like best are not the things that are perfect, but the ones that are flawed and imperfect and slightly inadequate.
It's so hard to define what brings us joy and comfort and what we find irresistible sometimes.
It's like, why do I adore this show even though there are so many shows out there that are so much better? Why do I think so often of these characters in particular? Why do I keep coming back here?
One of my favorite aspects about DAYS is Seo In Guk as Myul Mang. His character is the bedrock of this show from which everything else springs. I love his cynicism, his pessimism, his pain, his intolerance, his indifference, his quiet, simmering anger, his inability to outgrow his annoyance at the world. I love his audacity, his attitude and his insistent desire to destroy everything. I love that he doesn't hold back and that he doesn't try to be other than what he is. I love how the world slowly enraptures him, how it quietly grasps him into its folds, and doesn't let go. I love how he slowly discovers the world.
Myul Mang's entire existence is in nothingness, and then he is slowly brought into life. It is the opposite of what humans experience, for him it is actually life after death.
Myul Mang is hands down my favourite thing about DAYS.
The only thing I wish for was I wish we could have gotten more of his backstory. I wish he had been given a tangible past, a story that would have made the audience aware of where he was coming from, and thus would have made his motivations clearer, so that we know where he is heading.
Myul Mang lived, after death. He lived. That is all that matters.

Ready or Not : a Gun-woo x f!reader oneshot
Tumblr media
Summary: Gun-woo has learned things are not going entirely to plan with his money grabbing scheme and he needs his wife to help him get rid of some tension.
A/N: Gif really has nothing to do with exact moment used from the film for this, but I am insane, so I do not care. You can pry it from my cold, dead hands. I love his cheeky smile.

Tumblr media
You were lounging on the king size bed when your cell phone trilled, the ringtone set for your husband's number and only his. You set your book upside down on the duvet and stretch to reach it, swiping to answer. You could hear his quick breaths on the other end of the call before either of you spoke. You sat up quickly and crossed your legs.
"Hey, husband" you murmured. "Good or bad day?"
He grunted and your spine straightened.
"Bad" he muttered. "I - I need you to be ready for me. Can you do that, princess?"
You nodded to yourself; you'd had a feeling...
"Yes. Instructions, handsome?"
He sighed, and you could hear the relief in the sound. He shuffled round a bit and you could hear the scrape of his nails over the leather of his belt. You waited a little longer.
"You know the light blue set I bought for your birthday?"
You slid off the bed and padded to the towering dresser, pulling open the lingerie drawer, riffling through until you found the right set.
"Sorted" you said, laying the delicate material on the foot of the bed and already shimmying out of your pajama shorts.
"Need lube, princess."
His voice was low, a little hoarse, and a shiver rocked down your spine.
"Uh huh" you mumbled, barely restricting a moan at the end. "How do you want me?"
You heard the slam of a car door and a quiet groan, a metallic clink as he opened his belt, the sound of tyres as the car pulled out of its park.
"On all fours, princess" he rasped, barely above a whisper. "As ready as possible, yes? I need you."
You bit your lip, glancing across the room at the half full bottle of lubricant standing on your bedside cabinet.
"Okay, husband" you whispered. "I can do that. Get here fast, 'kay? I love you."
"Love you, princess."
The line deadened and you got moving, finishing stripping and pulling the lingerie into place, tiny satin bows resting against your clit and nipples. Gun-woo had made certain they were the exact perfect fit so he could drive you crazy with the teasing fabric.
You flinched a little, the tiny bows already doing their work, and reached for the lube bottle.
Tumblr media
You heard Gun-woo's familiar footsteps, loud at first and then quieter as he kicked off his shoes, and then the exhilarating clink and thud of his belt hitting the marble floor.
He found you waiting right how he wanted, your head turned so that you could see him stride into the room, his dress trousers open and the zip down. You could see the strain against the sleek fabric and shuffled on the bed, rubbing your thighs together to try and get some relief. Lubricant had pooled in your fancy expensive blue panties and you watched his hot dark eyes zone in on the wet patch.
Gun-woo offered you your favourite grin, lopsided and just a little cocky, as he came to stand behind you and lean forward, relishing your tiny gasp and wriggle as he pressed his covered, straining cock against your barely covered heat.
"Good girl" he mumbled. "I like these on you."
He reached underneath you and slid his fingertips over the bows on your bra, causing you to jerk back against him and another unrestrained gasp to fall from your mouth.
"You did as you were told" he murmured. "So good for me, princess. I think you're ready."
He tucked his fingers between your thighs and played tauntingly with the bow on your clit and you whined and bucked, pressing down into his hand and backwards against his cock.
"I'm ready, I'm so ready!" you cried out.
Gun-woo smoothed a warm, steady hand down your spine, deepening your arch a little, then shed his jacket and pulled himself free of his trousers and underwear, his other hand finding the side of your panties and pulling, hard. The delicate fabric tore almost instantly and you cried out, pushing back toward him.
He wasted no time in pushing into you, bottoming out with a guttural groan as lubricant mixed with your slick coated his cock and made the initial entry almost too easy. You gasped out a moan and dug your fingers into the duvet, curling them into fists just as he pulled free and shoved back in, palming your hips and setting a brutal pace.
He was still mostly dressed and sweat gilded his forehead from his earlier stress and his current efforts, dark eyes wide and focused fully on you as you whimpered and shook, trembled under his onslaught. As he moved, leaning over you a little to whisper in your ear, he brought the cool, sharp scent of his cologne with him.
Your eyes rolled as you inhaled, the spicy scent filling your head and blurring everything else. All you knew was him surrounding you, clouding your mind, drowning in his scent as he plunged in and out, his cock building friction you couldn't get enough of.
Gun-woo moaned right in your ear as you tightened on him, desperate, soaked and throbbing. Trusting you to hold yourself up, he shifted his hands from your hips to your breasts, rubbing his fingers over the satin bows until your nipples pushed them out and then plucking at and rolling them between his fingertips. He sighed as you whined and gasped, trying to push yourself further onto him as he railed into you again.
"You always do so well for me, princess" he murmured, grinning over your head at the bedroom wall. "So wet, wife. All riled up for me, huh? What is it, honey? Why are you so tight? Why so happy to see me?"
You fought against the cologne fog in your mind to give him an answer, but the sweet, hard drag of his cock inside you was making it difficult. You choked it out eventually, unable to see his pleased, indulgent smile, so pleased that he could so easily break your ability to think straight.
"You - you smell good!"
Gun-woo huffed a laugh, lowered his head to bite your shoulder, soothing over the indent with his tongue as you writhed and whimpered, seizing around his cock.
"Do I?" he asked, amused. "I'll buy more of it then, princess. Okay?"
He punctuated this with another hard, brutal thrust that drove you up the bed on your knees. You nodded weakly, thrusting your hips back and feeling him slide in whole again. He swore quietly and carefully slipped a hand up your shoulder, soothing it over your throat and tipping your head back. You squeezed him again and he groaned, pressing in until he had taken up all the available space.
"I need to have more bad days" he rasped, lightly squeezing your throat, just enough to have you wriggle under him and keen. "If this is the reception I get. I smell good? You feel incredible, princess. Taking me so well. I love you."
You moaned and nodded, and he understood: you couldn't talk right now, his cock, his hands and his mouth were rendering you speechless. He got it. He smiled again and doubled down on his efforts, his hips bullying your body, slamming against your ass with every thrust.
As he felt his climax rushing at him like a train, he leaned in close and whispered in your ear.
"I'll make you come later, okay?"
You didn't get a chance to respond before he was arching into you, grunting roughly, filling you fast and hot. You collapsed and he followed you down, nuzzling at your bitten shoulder. He kissed the angry mark.
"Thanks, princess."

A/N: Welcome to my first fic on this new blog, darling! I finished watching TSWWTN like a month ago and I have officially fallen in love. I took one of the scenes to start this story that could serve as a prequel of the drama from Gwi's perspective. Like a backstory for him that we were denied on the show.
I really hope you will like it, loves. Please share your thoughts with me and feel free to ask me anything! From extra scenes for this story to what's the last thing I ate, I'd love to interact with you all!
*A/N: This story will be updated when I have the time to write, darlings. I'll do my best to keep it alive and ongoing but I have a lot on my plate right now. I'm doing this mostly for myself as I need some space to vent and create without pressure. This blog is a safe space for anyone and that obviously includes me. So please be patient when it comes to updates! I'm giving my all trying to balance my life with all the responsibilities I, myself, put over my already busy life. But be for sure that this story will be finished... someday.
**A/N: Darling, please mind the warnings on this post and on each chapter. I'm still pondering on whether I should include smut here or not as I personally think there should be a solid reason why there must be a spicy scene in a story but aside from that, this story will have some pretty dark contents and behaviours. Disturbing scenes may appear throughout the story and I am not responsible for your media consumption. Please, be careful, love.

~ Chapter 5. 03 ~
I apologize in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes and how poorly written this fanfic is. English is not my first language and together with my dyslexia ass things can go wrong I'm sorry.

We had already encountered a few monsters, which resulted in some minor injuries. There were a few more floors to go until we would reach Mister Han's apartment, which made me wonder how many monsters we could encounter.
With heavy steps, we climbed up the stairs. I was breathing hard seeing we just had to escape a monster again, but it seemed like I wasn't alone. Even the man with scars was walking slower than before. The only one who was not exhausted was Hyun-su who was walking up the stairs, with rapid steps.
This didn't seem like him, seeing how tired he was earlier. Passing a floor Hyun-su stopped in front of the door, while the two of us walked past him. We only came to a halt when he spoke up.
"I think there's a monster here."
Turning around we came face to face with black eyes smiling Hyun-su.
It reminded me of when he was holding the monster so that the kids and I could escape.
"Let's kill it."
What?
Why would we put ourselves in danger to kill it?
The man walked a few steps back to us until he was standing half in front of me. Was he trying to protect me from Hyun-su?
"We can kill it." For a few seconds, he looked at us before opening the door to the floor.
He was about to walk in but slowly moved back looking at us with a wide grin on his face before saying.
"You're scared, aren't you?" I don't know if he was talking to me or the man, but even then it sounded creepy the way he said it.
He was about to walk in, but the man grabbed his bag and pulled him back with a hard jerk. Hyun-su stumbled back but still had a big smile on his face, but that soon vanished when the man punched him in the stomach. In normal circumstances, I would have been angry at the man. But seeing that Hyun-su had snapped out of whatever he was in, I was happy he did it.
"Great job," I whisper to the man.
Like normally he didn't give me an answer. I was about to say something but quickly stopped when the ringing in my ear started. On instinct, I turn around seeing now the door wide open. The heat of the flames washed over my face while the smoke burned my nostrils when I breathed in.
"Sir!"
Just in time, I could see the man being dragged down the hall before he disappeared behind a corner. Hyun-su was the first to run into the flaming hall quickly followed by me. We had to dodge some flames before finally reaching the corner he disappeared when the ringing came back.
Everything seems to go in slow motion for me. My eyes went to the other end of the wall hearing and feeling something dark coming our way at superhuman speed. The way it was running it would run straight into Hyun-su injuring him badly. Without thinking I pushed Hyun-su away just in time to feel a strong wind pass us.
I hadn't planned to fall down with him, but he automatically had put his arms around me taking me down with him. My face was in his chest while we both were breathing hard. Both our hearts were beating fast in our chests. I could feel every beat his made, while I tried to control mine.
The ringing in my ear came back, which made me want to get up but was quickly pulled back down just in time for a strong wind to pass my head. I looked up when whatever monster it was made a screeching noise and saw that it was set on fire because of an arrow. Fully sitting up now I could see it ran wildly further down the hall bumping into walls and other things that stood in its way.
"Uhm Mi.....Mi-na?" I hear Hyun-su say while I look further down the hall wanting to make sure the monster is completely gone.
"Yeah?" I answer finally looking down at him.
"C...can you...." One of his hands was on my tight and gave me a squeeze making me look down.
I wasn't aware of it until now, but I was still sitting on top of him. Basically straddling him. My face eminently began to feel hot seeing in which position we were in.
"Oh, shit! Yeah sorry!"
As rapidly as I could I moved off of him. It wasn't just me whose face was hot, I could see a faint blush color appearing on his face as well. Before one of us could say something we heard someone walking towards us. The both of us quickly stood up with our weapons ready if something would attack us.
Throughout the smoke, I began to see an outline of a human coming closer to us. Slowly I began to lower my weapon when I saw a girl appearing with a crossbow in hand aiming right at us.
"Who's there?" A man spoke appearing next to her.
I was about to speak up when I saw the man with the scars lying against a wall. Carefully I began to make my way to him not really caring if I would be shot or not. The girl kneeled down beside him feeling if he was still alive or not.
"He's alive." She spoke up looking at the older man she was with.
My eyes went to the thing sitting on the other side of the door opening. At first, it looked like a normal human, but if you looked further down you could see how his arms were impossibly long.
One of them was still lying on the man. Did that monster save him from the monster that attacked me and Hyun-su? It sounded strange, but if he really wanted to kill him he could easily do it himself or let the other monster do his job.
Taking a step forward I began to look into the dark doorway. It seems like it was a small room or a storage room of some sort. My eyes traveled down and a small gasp left my lips. People were lying on the floor.
Dead people.
There were so many of them that they were lying on top of each other. I took a step back but was quickly met with someone grabbing my arm gently. I had forgotten that Hyun-su was standing behind me and seeing the look in his eyes I guess he saw too what was in that room.
"What are you doing?" The girl asked looking at us.
I shook my head looking down at the man.
"Nothing. Let's just get out of here before that monster comes back."
Nobody seemed to protest at my suggestion, so Hyun-su and the girl each grabbed an arm of the man pulling him up from the ground.
"Let's go to my place it's close by." The old man said making us nod.
Without saying anything we began to follow him without saying a thing. My eyes scanned the hall seeing fire in some places with blood coating the wall. So many lives must have been lost here. Was that speed monster the cause of all their deaths or was there another monster who killed them as well?
It was weird that all those bodies were stacked in that room. Had the monster done that? Like collecting bodies as trophies? With a loud cracking sound water began to fall on us. Looking up I saw that the water sprinkles had turned on.
"Here come in." The older man said opening a door.
Quickly all of us walked inside with me as the last one, closing the door behind me with a deep sigh.
"Put him here." I turned around and saw them put the man against a wall making him slump down.
The girl immediately began to check his injuries. Finding a place to sit down to rest, my eyes scanned the room. There wasn't much, it was just like my place. Letting out a deep breath I took a seat against a counter that was standing next to the refrigerator.
I brought my left ankle close seeing that the swelling had gone down, but it was still red and painful. Looking at my legs I could see some blood on them that wasn't mine. Who knows who it is? A monster, me, a body, or Hyun-su's. I don't. It's weird how fast I have become used to the smell of blood. It only has been a couple of days, but it's like I can't smell it anymore. I wish that everything would go back to normal, but then again what is normal for me?
Going back home. Having to see how Miss Ward abused those kids. Getting abused myself in the end because I wanted to help them. I have never lived a normal life. These past couple of months have been the most normal I have ever lived.
"Are you okay?" I looked to my side a saw Hyun-su sitting there.
I was so deep in my thoughts that I hadn't noticed him at all.
"Y..yeah." I croak out before clearing my throat.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I was just thinking." I explain before looking down at my hands.
There were some scratches on them here and there, but all by all, they were okay. I was happy that nobody of us had a major injury yet.
"You two," I looked up when the old man spoke up.
"What are your names?" I lick my dry lips before speaking up.
"I'm Yun Mi-na."
"Cha Hyun-Su."
The old man nodded before looking back down at his magazine.
"What were you guys doing here on this floor? Were you guys going to the first floor?" He questions us without looking up.
"We just came from the first floor," I spoke up making the old man look up.
"So it isn't true. There aren't any survivors down there."
I shook my head quickly.
"No, no there are. They had sent us up to get some people who are important for us to survive." I clarify.
After nodding his head at us he looks back down at the pages in his hand letting us alone in our thoughts. A grunting sound came from the man with scares. The girl rushed to him trying to if he was fine.
"Are you awake now?" She asked looking through her supplies of medical stuff.
"I don't need any of that." I hear the man grunt out.
"Yes, you do. Your bleeding has stopped, but you're still injured." She explained, but the man didn't care what she said.
Without saying anything more he began to walk to the door.
"Wait, sir!" I stood up grabbing my axe from beside me.
Before I could take another step a cold hand grabbed mine, making me look down.
"Where are you going?" Hyun-su asked looking up at me with his big eyes.
I look at the door and see the man walk out before looking back down at him.
"Someone needs to go with him. It's not safe to go alone." I explained ready to take a step, but he only tightened his grip on my hand.
"It's too dangerous for you to go out there."
I shook my head.
"That's why I want to go. It's too dangerous to go out there on his own. Don't worry I'll meet you back downstairs safe and sound. Just make sure you get Mister Han, Miss Im, and the kids down safely. You have two pairs of extra hands to help you with it." I said looking at the old man and the girl.
Hyun-su didn't seem to be convinced still debating if would let me go or not.
"I'm going to be fine. I promise I'll come back."
Gently I began to pull my hand from his grip.
The only thing he did was nod his head before looking down.
I let out a sigh before waving goodbye to the old man and girl thanking them as well.

Was anyone going to tell me that there is an Asian actor named Lee Soo-Hyuk, who looks exactly how I pictured Lee Soo-Hyuk in TCF?

For me, the most complex character in TCF is Lee Soo Hyuk, bro. We barely know anything about him. From the little we do know, he remains a mystery. All we know about him is:
Cunning man
Vicious man [like everyone in this novel]
Kim Rok Soo's scamming teacher
A person who can discuss death without displaying emotions, even if it saddens him.
A dependable hyung and leader.
A person who would choose to die instead of seeing one of his team die.
He always appears to be tired.
Loves Rok Soo, Jung Soo, and his team
He is incredibly handsome.
He laughs about everything he thinks is funny.(?)
He always keeps his promises.
He aspired to become an action star, but after the apocalypse, he desired to become a farmer.
He was a famous figure in post-apocalyptic Korea.
He possesses a strong sense of justice.
A man who cares greatly for his subordinates and those close to him.
has such low self-esteem
He is very nostalgic about the peaceful days.
He imprinted on Rok Soo.
The most unbelievable thing for me is that he used to be a jobless slacker before the apocalypse.
I can't attribute all of these characteristics to just one person. I want to learn more about this man because, even with the little information we have, I've kind of grown attached to this character. Maybe Cale's feelings influenced me, LOL.

I think Cale-nim is actually an op character, he was a team leader of the attack team with zero mortality rate, one of the requirement to be a team leader of the attack team is to be able to fight at the front line and he does just that. Man has abilities that can cheat time and space and that abilities are intact when he transmigrated into Cale body. He is an op character alright.
The only reason he coughed blood left and right is because he was transmigrated into a weakass body with a weakass and fragile glass plate. Plus the ‘Slacker doesn’t exercise’ mindset, man really got it coming for himself.
His plans and strategies are impeccable, and sacrifice himself was never part of the plans. The things he do is actually something he know he is capable of doing, the consequences aside, and he usually act because other is too slow to act (to slow to figure out what happened and thus can’t act appropriately). He do what he have to do and trust his friends and family to keep him save. Man never plans to died, at first because he can’t died but now? Now he got people to go back to and ‘living is the best’ told by a dead man and his beloved team leader lee soo hyuk, a motto he keeps to heart.
