No but like every time I think about Splinter and what he had to go through just to keep the boys alive, my heart hurts for him so badly. Is he perfect? No not at all, but none of them are and by god does he love his sons.
The fact that all of them are alive, and grew to thrive despite the circumstances surrounding them is a testament of how much Splinter loves his boys. He raised four babies following the most traumatic time of his life, all alone with nothing but the sewers to house them (to hide them.) I feel like he’s not given the credit he deserves for all he’s done.
And I get that it’s easy to hold up his flaws and faults when it comes to parenting, I myself like looking into them because flawed characters are super interesting and said flaws make them more realistic and engaging, but he tries, and again, so many others would have given up on the boys or failed along the way but Splinter didn’t.
He’s their father, for all his faults he did his damndest to make sure they survived.

I think it’s really funny that not only was Matt actually looking forward to BH meeting VM, but that one of his biggest hesitances regarding the timing of which they finally did meet keyleth, was in wanting to make sure they couldn’t find a way to make her their personal taxi like they did essek
like, just knowing how cordoned off PC crossovers were in c2 (to the extent that would couldn’t even get council names out of anyone they met) and as someone who was convinced that vm was gonna be off-limits in regards to their current situation, I think it’s SO funny that Matt basically went “ok you guys can have keyleth for the attempted rez of laudna but dear god you CANNOT make her your new essek”

Hey I liked a lot your I hear the sunspot Maya post! I don't understand why there's so many people who have an issue with her as Kouhei's friend. She's doing what she thinks is best and you explained it so well 💖
Hi! <3
I am very glad you liked the post. Personally, I don't understand why Maya is such a divisive character and I just wanted give my perspective for why I, personally, do not think she is the devil incarnate. I always try to explain my point of view, especially if I know there is a large portion of the fandom that disagrees.
I know that there are people that vehemently hate Maya. I also know that there are people that vehemently defend her (I am one of them), but the way the fandom has been treating each other over this character has made me hesitant to post anything. So I am very happy to see that there are other people that don't hate Maya that have seen my post. There are also other people that have explained why Maya is such a good character just as well, if not better than I have.

Sometimes I get this sense of misdirection where I suddenly realize that-
Hey. I'm- I've been writing white characters. I've been drawing white characters. Characters who I have never once lived in their shoes and only heard about their lives. Characters who I share minimal physical features. Characters who I have no connection except for the fact they're humans like me. They're my main characters.
And then I get just a bit lonely at the lack of good and accurate poc characters in popular media. Characters like me. Characters who I feel deeply and can truly and fully connect with and smile and laugh with, knowing that I smile and laugh exactly like them at the exact same things they would smile and laugh at. Characters who are just like me. Characters who are me.

"clones don't have to be referential to the historical figures they originated from because they're different people" is a good argument to make in universe and to keep in mind when characterising them, but from a screenwriting POV it doesn't make much sense?
I mean, what's the point of the show's premise being historical clones, if the characters aren't going to be referencing their clone parents in some way?
They can try to follow their steps, or they can subvert them, or they can fall somewhere in between, but if most their traits can't be traced back in some way to the historical figure then why bother? At that point you might as well create a fully original character
