[I wrote these to sorta comfort myself because this was almost exactly what happened yesterday. I didn’t bring food prior to going to work and didn’t go on my break so I had to sit through a 6+ hour shift with no food until 6pm. By the time I did eat I was not satisfied I still felt hungry after. I’m okay now, dw <3]

Felix: “No, this can’t be. We need to get some food into you, pronto!”

Madeline: “Fix-It, it’s not that-“

He takes her hand.

Felix: “No protesting against this one, lady love.”

Madeline blushes and lightly chuckles as she follows him.

Kristoff (to Mara)

Kristoff glances from one side to another.

Kristoff: “Okay, Sven would kill me for doing this, but if it’s for you I think he’d make an exception.”

Mara: “What’re you talking about?”

He reaches into a small bag stashed in his sleigh and hands Mara one of Sven’s uneaten carrots.

Kristoff: “Here”

Mara: “I’m not your reindeer, you know that right?”

Kristoff: “I know it’s not much, but you can stomach it until we find you something better.”

Mara sighs as she tries to hide her blush.

Mara: “Alright, only because I can’t let food like this go to waste.”

She takes a bite before glancing back up at Kristoff.

Mara: “You’re not gonna make me share this are you?”

Kristoff: “What? No, of course not! Unless you want to.”

Mara: “Not a chance, ice cutter.”

Barley (to Maria)

Barely re-routes Guinevere.

Maria: “Whoa!”

Maria manages to stabilize herself in the passenger seat.

Maria: “What’s going on?”

Barley parks Guinevere.

Barley: “Wait right here.”

Maria: “Wha-?”

Before Maria could fully argue, Barley has already left the van. After a couple moments, he comes back with a bag of take out.

Maria: “Bar..” *gasp* “I have to pay you back!”

Barley: “Nope, none of that. You already know it’s my absolute pleasure to get to take care of you.”

Maria: *blushes* “… Thank you, Barley..”

Barley: *in his quest voice* “Anything for my fair princess!”

Tadashi (to Makoto)

Tadashi: “Makoto, that’s only gonna do you more harm than good. You’re gonna get sick if you don’t eat something.”

Makoto: “I know.. I just.. I really need to get this final done by the end of the evening so I can’t go out right now.”

Tadashi: “… Right.”

Tadashi leaves Makoto’s apartment bedroom and enters her kitchen. Makoto pokes her head out the bedroom door frame.

Makoto: “Now what’re you doing?”

Baymax: “He is preparing food.”

The sudden sound of Baymax’s voice made Makoto flinch.

Makoto: *sigh* “‘dashi doesn’t have to do all this for me. He’s got assignments to get done too.”

Baymax: “If I may ask, are you concerned about Tadashi losing time he could be spending on college assignments instead of your health?”

Makoto: “Sometimes I forget how well Tadashi programmed you. I just.. I really wish I wasn’t burdening him with this.”

Baymax: “Makoto, you are Tadashi’s girlfriend.”

Makoto: “So? What does that have to do with anything?”

Baymax: “When you’re in a relationship with someone, your priorities start to shift to where you’re not only looking out for yourself, but your partner one as well. Tadashi loves you. He wants nothing more than for you to be healthy and cared for. He couldn’t properly focus on himself until he knows you’re alright. Because that’s what partners are and what they do.”

Makoto turns back toward Tadashi. He was giving her a warm smile. Makoto returned the smile, mouthing “thank you” before Tadashi went back to cooking.

Luigi (to Madeira)

Luigi: “Wait, you haven’t eaten today!?”

Madeira: “N-No, I-“

Luigi practically leaped over the counter of Madeira’s bakery and booked it to the kitchen. He grabbed one of the sample doughnuts and handed it to her, breathing heavily.

Madeira: “Luigi, oh my goodness! Are you alright?”

Luigi: “I’ll be” *pant* “much better” *pant* “if you eat this.”

Madeira: “Lu, that’s a sample. I can’t just-“

Luigi: “Please?”

He makes a lil puppy face. Madeira couldn’t resist it so she hesitantly grabbed the doughnut and took a bite.

Madeira: *softly smiles* “Thank you. You really know how to look out for others.”

Really miss the Lightfoot bros by a lot Fr Fr, I should watch the movie again for reminiscing ❤️ It's crazy looking back at this movie now, how it's become the last movie i watch on cinema before everything went horrible, 2020 was a really wiiiiild ride.

I've been meaning to send you this ask for a while! I know that Onward is your favorite Pixar movie, and it's an absolutely AMAZING film 😍 My second favorite as you know! So, would you like to go on and tell us in detail what are the things that you love most about it? The animation, the characters, the story... Ah, Onward, my beloved. Come to think of it, I'd love to rewatch it with you someday, Zahra (your favorite/my second favorite, Coco, as well!). Buckle up, I'm gonna yap a little bit😊

Well, where do I even begin? Perhaps the characters as they're certainly one of my favorite parts of this movie. I love how none of them is annoying or useless, and there's no actual "bad guy" - like, everyone's motivations and feelings are clear and understandable in their own way.

The Lightfoot brothers, the main character Ian and his big brother Barley, are both really fun, endearing and relatable in their own ways - though for me, Barley especially so😃 Favorite Pixar character for sure. I love how good of a brother he is to Ian throughout the movie, how he is never jealous of his little bro's magic abilities but instead is very proud of him and eager to teach him what he knows. How he loves fun and adventure while not being dumb or completely irresponsible as Ian seems to think of him to some degree at first. Ian is a bit of that classic nerdy and socially awkward teenager trope, but still feels authentic and not one-dimentional. I absolutely love how he sacrifices his main motivation throughout the movie: to meet his father, so that Barley can properly say goodbye🥲

Their mother Laurel is also a great character and I adore how such a mundane thing as working out at home at the beginning of the movie comes back later as something she uses to help her sons in the climactic battle. I love how proactive she is, looking for her boys, finding help and then actually helping them. She's also a very sweet mom to their children, understanding their different personalities and needs, and willing to speak their language.

Corey is mayyyybe borderline annoying but not quite, and she's a fun companion to Laurel at least. Colt Bronco, Laurel's boyfriend, might seem a little uptight and too exasperated with Barley's antics at first, but it's easy to see he's generally a good guy and he thankfully loosens up a bit by the end of the film. As for the dad... it's fascinating how much personality they could give disembodied legs, all things considered. I find his role in the story and the little ways he manages to connect to his sons as, y'know, JUST A PAIR OF LEGS, very unique.

And, well... I always tend to gravitate towards stories about brothers as you know. They're interesting and in most cases touch me really deeply. Barley and Ian's relationship evolves so beautifully in the movie, with Ian coming to understand his brother and his true role in his life🥹 It hits me so hard and genuinely hurts me to hear him call Barely a screwup, but the following scene where he realizes that everything he's wanted to do with his father he's already done with Barley is so darn beautiful🥲❤️ It's always very satisfying to see them hug after Barley spends that short moment with their dad, and perhaps even more so to see them get along so well at the end of the movie🥰

The story itself is also really cool in my opinion. The adventure being based on a D&D-like quest is quite a unique and very fun concept. Admittedly, at first I wasn't sure if I was going to like the premise of them trying to bring back their dead father but only managing to do so with his lower half. However, it actually really worked well! I also love how the ending is somewhat bittersweet when Ian doesn't get to meet their dad after all, and Barley only gets a short moment with him. Also, it's amazing how Barley's van Guinevere is almost a character of its own and how the scene where Barley sacrifices it is somehow sad and hilarious at the same time. And also... I honestly love how the director Dan Scanlon's own life experience is such a big inspiration for the story🥺

Another thing I love is the worldbuilding! A typically medieval fantasy world blended with the modern world we all know today is, I think, a great idea - and quite well executed too. The types of creatures you can see and how some of them have been affected by the technological progress, the magic system, including the way the curse works... I think it all works very well and creates a pretty fun setting for this story😄

The art, animation, music and voice acting are also very good. It was thanks to Chris Pratt's role as Barley that I believed he could do well enough as Mario in the Super Mario Bros. Movie😁 Another protective and caring older brother... who also gets shrunk to a miniature size and his voice becomes cute and comically high-pitched🤔 Hmm...

In any case, I hope this answer satisfies you😌 Love, love, LOVE this movie, and I'm pretty sure I could talk about it even longer🤭 I mean, look, I even own the art book:

quick ramble post about nothing anyone really cares about but me!

so a straight white dude i know irl posted on his snapchat story that buying Taylor Swift on vinyl is so ridiculous and that it’s like eating raw chicken blah blah blah. why do you care so bad about something that majority women consume? don’t buy it. no one’s making you. but of course it’s going to be advertised at record stores… she sells lots of them lol. that’s quite honestly the WORST part for me about being a vinyl collector is that i buy music that is pop and feminine and not what the record store bros want you to buy. idk if this actually makes any sense to anyone else. but i started collecting vinyl back when i was 13 and it wasn’t anything other than ‘trash’ i was clearing for family members and friends of family friends. i’d stop at every flea market and junk shop, sweating in attic rooms with no ac flipping through thousands of Englebert Humperdinck records to find one or two Steely Dan and Gordon Lightfoot LPs. yet some asshole like that will see me with Midnights or folklore and write me off as not a ‘serious’ music listener. sometimes i just want to respond to people like that and be like let’s go cmon toe to toe. because to me, even if i didn’t have a big and expansive collection, who are you to judge someone’s ‘seriousness’ over a singular artist. at the end of the day i guess what im trying to say is 1. let people enjoy things and 2. if someone tells you you’re not listening to or buying records correctly i will take my vintage victrola and smash it on their head.

The Inspiration Template for Onward to Critical Role

Swords and sorcery just get real as Ian and Barley Lightfoot from Disney/Pixar's 'Onward' landed smack-dab in the middle of Exandria, the world of 'Critical Role' that exists in the Material Plane full of real magic, real epic adventures, and real wizards, bards, real fantasy and beyond…and no modern technology in this new hypothetical Crossover Alternate Universe (CAU) timeline that explores what would happen if the events of Disney/Pixar's 'Onward (2020)', Critical Role's animated series 'The Legend of Vox Machina (2022)' and its upcoming animated 'Mighty Nien' series occurred differently.

I said this as kind of a joke but now it’s all I can think about, so here’s some ideas for the characters’ Final Smashes

Woody: either uses a large lasso to capture his opponent and fling them off the map, or perhaps summons the three aliens who use “The Claw” to pick up opponents and take them off the arena

Jessie: calls out “yodelayheehoo!!” to summon a herd of Bullseyes to trample her opponents

Ember: charges up her flame to go Full Purple and send an explosion all over the arena, scorching all of her opponents

Lightning McQueen: creates a large lightning bolt and strikes down his targeted opponent while screaming “KA-CHOW!”

Ian: grabs his wizard staff and uses Voltar Thundasir on all opponents

Flik: summons an enormous red bird to grab an opponent and feed them to its baby chicks

Joe: plays a relaxing melody on the piano that sends his opponents to sleep and heals 30% damage on himself and teammates

Mater: tows a targeted opponent and drags them around the arena, inflicting damage on them until he sends them flying off the map

EVE: emits a powerful blast from her ray gun on a targeted opponent

Buzz: summons Emperor Zurg to shoot blasts of large tennis balls at his opponents

Mr. Incredible: his super strength increases greatly as he picks up an opponent and beats them senseless in midair, landing one final powerful punch that sends them flying off the arena

Wade: drowns his opponents in a river of his tears

WALL-E: grabs an opponent and compact them into cubes along with some trash, then proceeds to send the opponent into a trash chute

Princess Atta: flies around the arena dodging large raindrops that fall over her opponents, which can cause them to drown or be pushed off the arena. She will also pick up her teammates to save them from the raindrops

Dory: bounces around on a swarm of jellyfish that float across the map that will sting her opponents

Imelda: repeatedly whacks a targeted opponent with her boot until they fly off the map

Remy: creates a fully-prepped meal that will heal 50% of damage to him and his teammates

Elastigirl: stretches to grab all of her opponents no matter how far away they are and will knock them together so they pass out (if she has only one opponent she will punch them and send them flying out of the arena)

Sulley: emits a roar so loud it shakes the arena and causes rocks and rubble to come crashing down on his opponents
