It has just occurred to me that unless the buffers of a train are sensitive enough to feel whatever's in front or back of them and properly distinguish textures/temperature, their lack of any semblance of "limbs" would mean they'd explore their world like snakes or sharks
Aka, with their mouths
So it would not be out of the question for them to have "teething problems" where if something is within reach, they'll attempt to put it in their mouths to understand what it is

It's like I blinked and "Haha I'm going to kill myself" became a funny joke to make again, or an alright thing to say ironically. You guys stop that. You'll feel better for not saying it, I promise.

I know you mostly love the Supes in the Boy’s (which same) but I gotta ask— what animals would the Boys be? Can’t stop thinking of Hughie as a giraffe lol
Hmmm . . .
Butcher - Billy Goat
Frenchie - Skunk
Kimiko - Tanuki
MM - Rottweiler
Hughie - Stag ( I like the idea of him having a similar enough silhouette to Butcher that he could mistake him for Lenny when he's soused )

The only thing that confuses me in the divorced au is why any of the boys still put up with Price. Soap is literally raising one of his kids and Price probably makes snappy comments about Soap's marriage. Gaz has to hear first hand how his Captain treats his wives and obviously doesn't like it and I don't know how Simon can hear these stories of John acting just like Simon's father including the abuse and still be able to defend him or look him in the eyes without pure anger.
I mean...
The hard answer is that they "put up with" him because they have no other choice. Price is good to them, which makes it hard for them to really say "I'm done with him" and for a long time they really didn't know he was shitty to his wives. There's also the double edged sword of Price literally holding their lives and careers in his hands, that he's had them do things that don't sit well with them because it was for the good of the world. It's hard to look at Price and say he's a good man because he isn't, but he's a good soldier, and his choices fall in line with the "good guys" more often than not. It's hard for them to say that Price is a bad person because they've seen him put his life on the line for the world's safety.
So they recontextualize him. Price is not good at being a person, he's not a guy they would want to be friends with outside of work, but he's a man that they trust with their lives. He's a man that treats them like brothers and sons, and has gone back for them on more than one occasion. He's also a man who treats his wife like an object and his kids like soldiers. He can't see past the big picture, can't stand the forest for the trees. He is a bad person because he was never meant to be a person.
Price keeps his comments on their marriage to himself for the most part, that makes it easier for Soap. Price doesn't ask about his kid, that makes it easier for Soap to convince himself Price is doing the right thing by giving his kid up. Simon has known Price for long enough to not expect more than he knows he'll be given. It's why he doesn't talk about his family, he doesn't want to force Price to put on that mask of humanity and ask him the "usual" questions when they both know the man couldn't care less. Gaz has to contend with two realities: one where Price is a good mentor and practically his father figure, a man who has so much to teach Gaz and a willingness to do it, and another where Price is a bad father and husband, who has never given his family the same grace he gives Gaz and doesn't seem interested in being convinced to try.
How does Simon look Price in the eye? The same way he looked his father in the eye when he kicked him out of the house, with the same pity he gives to the bugs he crushes under his boot. Just another cockroach that will survive a nuclear winter but will never know what it feels like to be human.

Guys I'm teaching my very patient father about fandom again. He says Spock/Kirk is bad and dumb, he thinks Kirk/McCoy is obvious and peak because "Kirk and McCoy are two of the gayest womanizers ever in television."
