If your parents didn’t know how to hold you, you develop the mind you hold yourself with, so you find safety in this mind that you created. So the human mind, the ordinary egoic mind, is basically a defensive structure. It’s, in significant ways, a response to pain, it’s designed to keep you from experiencing pain, it’s worried and anxious and it’s defensive, so when it comes to change and vulnerability the mind wants to defend against it. It comes out of fear, which comes out of childhood experience where the pain that you had wasn’t held, and therefore you develop these mind structures to keep you from experiencing it, and one of them is clearly addiction.

listen but rival teachers jeggy where they are both competing for like a very lame prize at the end of the year that the school gives out and they just really dislike each other and how they are as teachers but they keep getting forced into situations where they have to get along like chaperoning a dance or going as the two teachers for a field trip and they kinda start understanding each other better but also they both really want that lame prize so they don't want to care for the other and ugh just absolute two idiots slowly falling in love

i'm stupid so i absolutely did not put together Conrad Schintz as "conscience" until i saw someone in the tag point this out but now that it's in my dumb brain i can't stop thinking about it. Alex's choice to portray Conrad as this softspoken never speaks up but still has to do Something boy who is kind and thoughtful to a fault. pitch perfect character choices!!! but also this tiny quiet boy somehow being pegged by the heads of the city as the BIGGEST DISTRACTION to the big guy's goals and ambitions!! and then his choice of the important article to pay attention to being the culmination of Elias' months and months of research - specifically for the goal of, as Conrad put it, getting it before the "big wigs" could get to it. WHAT is Elias Hodge DOING for Gobstopper Industries??????

wait what’s the love lockdown show
Good morning anon, thanks for asking! Before I get to your question, I feel a little backstory on the Love Lockdown cover is important here, so let's start at the beginning shall we? 🤓
First off Patrick dropped a cover of Love Lockdown by Kayne West Sept 21, 2008 during the promo for Folie. Where he had this to say about it:
And this:
@dykepatrickstump has a great post about Patrick cover songs that discusses the timing of Patrick posting the Love Lockdown cover and subsequent posts made by Pete to both his main blog and private blogs the same day and a few days after. It's very....interesting and IMO pretty critical to the whole narrative.
Hopefully you're still with me anon. Back to your original question.
To promo the release of Folie, they did a run of small venue secret shows and tv engagements which included a show for Much Music Canada (woo Canada mention), Live in the Lot on Oct 28, 2008. During that set Patrick played the Love Lockdown cover and after he finishes playing it says "that's for you Pete" 👀. It should also be noted that it seems Love Lockdown was played during a commercial break and not during the televised set.
As an aside, the Live in the Lot show was the second show they played the Love Lockdown cover. It was live debuted at Wembley on Oct 22, 2008. Those are the only two shows it was played at (to my knowledge at least).
Oh my gosh this has gotten away from me. Back to the timeline. The best man speech video post from yesterday is from the Harper's Ferry secret show in Boston on Nov 6, 2008, which according to setlist FM, was the show immediately after the Love Lockdown show on Oct 28, 2008.
Thanks for staying with me anon. There was certainly.....something....about these early folie era shows because there's a lot of interesting moments that came out of them 🩵💙
