Since then, the Missouri Department of Conservation documented three additional sightings around the state last month — one in Callaway County, another in Montgomery County and a third that was hit by a vehicle south of St. Louis.  Reports of mountain lions, also known as cougars, pumas and panthers, have increased over the past decade in the state. Between 2013 and 2022, a total of 65 were counted around Missouri. Compare that to the years between 1994 and 2006, when only 12 were spotted. [...] The animals may come from an established colony in the Black Hills, cross Nebraska and wander into Missouri, according to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Missouri’s extensive forest coverage, which includes 35% of state acreage, then becomes an ideal destination for the animals. Mountain lions have roamed Missouri since pre-settlement times. Their range crosses the western hemisphere from Canada to southern Chile. do you like North Carolina?

afaik it's the prettiest state in the us of a. mountains and ocean and trees trees trees. every fall is the most gloriously colored ever and every spring has the most petals and in the summer there's cherries and berries as thick as might be seen. and we usually get one good solid snow per winter which is plenty if you ask me.

most places aren't very walkable or bikable and there's no good public transit, and we're gerrymandered all to hell so our senators and representatives are the worst people on the planet, but our governor is a pretty good dude and the mayor is great. city council are ok I guess. they're always forming committees to look into things but they can't seem to get the damn footbridge over the creek repaired or pave over the old traintracks so I can ride my bike to the store.

quakers are so thick on the ground here that it wasn't until I went off to college that I realized lots of people don't know any quakers at all. there's a college here whose team name is "the fighting quakers" which is the best team name ever if you ask me. also the bishop of the episcopal church worldwide is from here so that's cool. unfortunately louis dejoy also lives here but I never see him out and about, either because all the protests have him nervous to go out or because I don't play golf.

I've never really lived anywhere else, except florida for a year. that sucked but not entirely because of florida. but I did miss home.

Part II

The small and intimate private church ceremony will be followed by a big, glamorous, formal reception under the stars! And speaking of stars, lets take a look at that sparkling guest list!

The first to grace the photographers with their presence, were the Significant Others of some of the members of the bridal party, who are also staying at the villa, but were not in attendance at the church ceremony. The new Marquess of Lykke, Lord Giovanni Castellano (top), the Crown Princess' long-time love, Mr. Luke Marin (middle), and Prince Benedict's partner, Miss Taylor Prescott.

Next was the contingent from Oasis Springs- the Bride's maternal Aunt and Uncle- Queen Anastasia and King Ivan De La Cru (left), as well as Crown Prince Philippe and his wife, Princess Octavia De La Cru (right).

Next up from Newcrest- more of the Bride's maternal family members. King Cesare and Queen Misha Colona (top), Princess Lucrezia and Duke Leo Rose (middle left), Princess Emilia Colona and fiance Dr. Gabriel Micheletti (middle right), Princess Adriana and Major General Samson Glenn (bottom left), and finally, Princess Francesca and Duchess Olive Colona (bottom right). From San Myshuno- a Maternal Uncle this time, Prince Nickolai and Duchess Megan Ivanov (top), as well as Princess Victoria and Earl Louis Yang (middle), and dazzling everyone with her smile, Miss Wren Hathaway (bottom). Miss Hathaway, the Prince's adopted step-daughter, has been known to be a shy and reserved young woman, but she seems to have stepped out of her shell today!

Also from San Myshuno- Princess Maria, the Princess Royal, and Duchess Encarna Dias (left), as well as their daughter, the Right Honorable Miss Yue Dias, and partner Miss Samara Singh (right). Their younger daughter, Rt. Hon. Miss Feng Mian Dias, and her fiance, Lord René Yang, are in the bridal party, and we will see them later.

Breaking up the line of Ivanovs is a Paternal Aunt and Uncle of the Bride- King Caleb and Queen Claire Norton of Willow Creek.

Hiker Shares Harrowing Experience of Rescue from Flooding at Havasu Falls in Grand Canyon National Park

"We consider ourselves incredibly blessed and lucky, given the circumstances," Corey Middleton told FOX Weather on Monday, feeling fortunate to be alive after what was supposed to be a bucket-list adventure to Havasu Falls for him and his family turned into a nightmare.

A Utah man is sharing the story of his harrowing rescue after extreme flooding left him and dozens of hikers stranded inside Grand Canyon National Park.

"We consider ourselves pretty blessed and lucky, given the circumstances," Corey Middleton told FOX Weather on Monday, feeling fortunate to be alive after what was supposed to be a bucket-list adventure to Havasu Falls turned into a nightmare.

Heavy rains caused Havasu Creek to flood last Thursday afternoon, stranding around 200 hikers, including several both above and below Beaver Falls, according to National Park Service officials.

Corey Middleton, his sister, her companion, and her 9-year-old daughter began their hike in the early-morning hours last Thursday and reached their campsite by mid-morning.

"We were pretty excited because the weather was actually really good," he said. "We were expecting it to be hot, given that it was August in the Grand Canyon."

The group set up camp shortly after 10 a.m. By lunchtime, it began to sprinkle lightly, so Middleton suggested they all take a nap after their six-hour hike.

"As we got into the tent, the rain started coming down harder, and then everyone’s phones received a flash flood alert," he said.

About five minutes later, a park ranger approached and advised the group to move their tent to higher ground. Middleton noted that there wasn’t much urgency, as officials mentioned the flash flood was expected in about 40 minutes.

"We decided to move our tent first to higher ground. We thought that meant just moving it up the embankment because we were camped pretty close to the water," he explained.

As they moved, the rain intensified.

"We realized people were really starting to panic and move faster. That’s when my sister and I looked at each other and said, ‘We need to get out of here,’" Middleton recalled.

Ten minutes later, a nearby bridge was completely surrounded by water. According to the National Weather Service, the area received 1 to 2 inches of rain within 60-90 minutes.

"Trees and all kinds of debris were piled up against it, making it impassable," Middleton said.

Middleton, his sister, and about six others hiked two miles back up the canyon and crossed the "ladder area," which had been destroyed, to retrieve what belongings they could salvage from the flash flood.

"We grabbed as much as we could and then hiked it back down to the village, as there was no way to get a mule back up that area," he explained. "Many people lost everything. They didn’t have wallets, phones, or anything."

The Arizona Department of Emergency Management, along with members of the Arizona National Guard, evacuated 104 people from the canyon, including members of the Havasupai community and visitors to Havasupai Falls.

Middleton, who was later separated from his sister during the evacuation, was one of the last people to be airlifted out of the canyon on Friday night. His sister and friends stayed in the lodge overnight and were evacuated the next day.

A large, multiday search for a woman swept away during the flash flooding ended on Monday when authorities found the body of 33-year-old Chenoa Nickerson from Gilbert, Arizona, on the Colorado River. The National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner are investigating the incident.

As for a future trip to Havasu Falls, Middleton said it might be a while before he considers packing his bags again.

"I may have to do it again," he added, "but I don't know if that's going to be anytime soon."

Izuku stares wide-eyed at the nuclear power plant, wondering why they were even there in the first place. The place is dangerous for heaven's sake, THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE.

"Yep. Positive." his companion says and grins, forcefully dragging the taller male.

"Besides, it's like in the comics! The main character falls into a bucket of this stuff and they have super powers!"

"IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY."

"Who knows? I mean, AllMight was probably dunked in this stuff when he was younger which gave him super strength..."

"Shh the guards might hear us.."

Izuku stares at his companion in disbelief, wondering why he even allowed himself to be dragged there. He pulls his hand away, getting annoyed.

"What are you doi-"

"I'm leaving. I'm sorry but we aren't even supposed to be here."

"I thought you wanted to be a hero??"

"Yeah, but not like this. Just... let it go already. I... feel fine being... quirkless. Besides, what are the chances I would survive being thrown into toxic waste??"

His companion goes silent, pondering his words. They sigh, defeated, and turn around. Izuku breathes a sigh of relief, thankful that his companion was still a bit rational.

They both march towards the exit of the plant.

Until...

"MIDORIYA!"

An particularly loud explosion sets off and shakes the whole building, causing the floor to be unstable. Debris flies everywhere, crashing into different parts of the building.

Causing the platform they were on to tilt ever so slightly.

Izuku holds onto the railing, breathing heavily. He attempts to pull himself up but to no avail. The handle creeks everytime he does so, and he curses the management internally for not even checking if the plant is stable. He calls for his companion, who is desperately trying to escape the pile of rubble that surrounded them.

He panics, wishing he still had One For All at that very moment. He would be able to swing himself off easily, escaping with his companion unscathed.

Another explosion sets off, causing the whole building to shake again. He looks around, trying to see if he could use anything to get him and his companion to safety. But to no avail.

Is this really the only option...

Izuku looks down at the bucket of toxic waste below him. He breathes, closing his eyes and praying that it would work.

Otherwise he just perishes and everything meant nothing.

He breathes one last time before letting go and falling into the toxic waste.

A figure shoots up from the bucket at lightning speed. It lands on the unstable platform, scanning the area for a pile of rubble. Spotting it, the figure rushes toward it.

"St. Louis..."

"SMASHHHH!"

Underneath the rubble was a blue forcefield that shielded the user. The figure knocked gently on the forcefield, causing them to look up.

"Holy shit- MIDORIYA IS THAT YOU??"

The figure stays silent and just nods toward the exit. Squeaking, the forcefield person deactivates their quirk before the figure grabs their hand and runs to the exit.

And they escape! (hooray)

The figure emits a smokescreen of sorts before coughing was heard.

"Midoriya..?"

"I hate you for dragging us in there."

The smoke screen dispels, revealing an Izuku Midoriya with black tentacles coming out of his hands. He coughs out some of the toxic waste, wiping his mouth as the tentacles retract.

"Was that waste a rewind or something..."

He mutters to himself, trying to test out his theory.

"7th. Float."

And he floats. (wow magic)

His companion's jaw drops.

"YOU GOT YOUR QUIRK BAC-"

The Walt Disney Company has garnered extensive acclaim in the collective consciousness of the world by virtue of its creation of iconic cinematic productions that include The Lion King, along with indelibly cherished characters including Mickey Mouse. While the Walt Disney Company’s prominence notably emanates from its perpetually treasured cinematic innovations and timeless characters, it manages an array of multifarious divisions that are aimed at maximizing the value of shares for investors. The Walt Disney Company is bifurcated into two discernible segments that orchestrate all of Disney's commercial transactions and daily operations for the purpose of advancing the corporation’s fiscal prosperity and entertainment acclaim. The Walt Disney Corporation is portioned into a distinct segment called Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products that exercises supervision over a worldwide collection of theme parks encompassing Walt Disney World, as well as magnificent vacation destinations exemplified by Aulani and maritime voyages under the subsidiary of Disney Cruise Line. In a similar fashion, the Walt Disney Company is demarcated into another segment named Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution that is responsible for the oversight of creation studios, including Lucasfilm Animation, and the administration of streaming platforms, including Hulu. The strategically diversified investment portfolio of the Walt Disney Company has fortified it to attain an unassailable market share while firmly establishing its presence across a myriad of business sectors. In 1968, the State of Florida sued the Reedy Creek Improvement District on the grounds that the district lacked the power to plan for drainage of its own waterlogged terrain and to issue revenue bonds for financing of the drainage endeavor. The Supreme Court of Florida rendered a verdict deeming that the appellant's contention that the project predominantly catered to Disney's interests was "untenable" because the primary objective is a valid public purpose given that the project would "improve sanitation and pest control conditions while aiding in the conservation of natural resources." The Supreme Court of Florida also deduced that as "long as specific constitutional provisions are not offended," a special improvement district can be located within "more than one county and possess multi-purpose powers essential to the realization of a valid public purpose." The Supreme Court of Florida held that the legislation establishing the Reedy Creek Improvement District did not conflict with Article III Section 20 of the Constitution of the State of Florida because the Court previously held that it is permissible for the Florida Legislature "to impose state and county" officials with administrative duties "as an incident to the formation of a taxing district for governmental purposes in order to effectuate the purposes of the district." Ultimately, the Court concluded that the legislation establishing the Reedy Creek Improvement District conferred the district with the control to "issue general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, or any other bonds to pay all or part of the cost of construction," and that the Board of the Reedy Creek Improvement District "was reasonable" and "accordingly not arbitrary, unfair, or inequitable" in its imposition of fees. Therefore, the Supreme Court of Florida ruled in favor of the Reedy Creek Improvement District and solidified a case precedent that granted the Walt Disney Company with more than 5 decades of safeguarded authority. In April 2022, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 4-C, which stipulated that any "independent special district" promulgated "prior to November 5, 1968" that "was not reestablished, re-ratified, or otherwise reconstituted by a special act" will be "dissolved effective June 1, 2023." The Florida Senate bill conspicuously directed its focus towards the dissolution of the Walt Disney Company’s special district, which could cause the special district to be absorbed into Osceola and Orange counties. Jerry Demings, mayor of Orange County, declared that assuming responsibility for "the first response" and ensuring the public safety of Reedy Creek would be "catastrophic for the county's budget" and "would be an undue burden on the rest of the taxpayers in Orange County." (Sampson) Governor Ron DeSantis, the Walt Disney Company, and the mayors of Orange and Osceola counties must collaboratively formulate a resolution to rectify the imminent fiscal upheaval that is poised to confront Osceola and Orange counties.

not far from said city is a small town, Cypress Falls. savannah resides here with her great aunt, beatrice. She helps run Honey Creek Acres, the farm her aunt and uncle built from the ground up, and does handiwork for people around town for extra coin.

noa owns a small tattoo parlor and runs it with the former owner/her mentor. she lives above it with a black cat named, sid. she says sid isn’t hers, mainly because he comes and goes about town as he pleases. she always leaves the window next to the fire escape cracked for him though.

she and savannah are best friends and have been since savannah moved there at 16. they’re regular fwbs in the purest sense of the word and noa does all van’s tattoos.
