But trolls and dwarfs had been fighting for centuries. Ending that sort of thing took more than a handshake. It was just a symbol.
On the other hand...the world wasn't moved by heroes or villains or even by policemen. It might as well be moved by symbols. All he knew was that you couldn't hope to try for the big stuff, like world peace and happiness, but you might just about be able to achieve some tiny deed that'd make the world, in a small way, a better place.
Like shooting someone.

a lot of shitty, world-changing and nation-changing events have happened in my lifetime (9/11, 2008 recession, all of 2016, global pandemic). The American Dream I was promised as a child doesn’t exist, and never really did for most Americans. I understand why people in my generation just give up, throw their hands in the air and stop trying to make the world better. I understand because it would be really fucking easy for me to do the same. but back when I was a teenager I promised myself that I wouldn’t give up. So I rebel by being happy. I rebel by educating myself. I rebel by being kind. I rebel by volunteering. I rebel by showing up every day and trying. And even when I fuck things up, I try again the next day. Maybe I won’t change the world a lot, but I can change it in little, tiny ways. I can change it for myself and my friends and family. I know things are rough. But apathy is the enemy. Look how much better life is now than it was 100 years ago. You don’t have to do much. Just being present makes a difference.

Hey fellow Critters.
A reminder that CR continues to remain silent when it comes to the ongoing genocide happening in Gaza. The CR cast continue to drink Starbucks(there is a global boycott, it's been months, it's impossible for them to simply not know).
We as Critters have moved mountains, we have power of numbers. We could take our viewership and numbers, push them to speak out. If enough of us avoid watching the broadcast they may get the picture. Their silence and continued support of companies that are funding this genocide speaks volumes. And although it hurts to pull myself away from such a stellar community, but +30,000 Palestinian people have been martyred in the past +110 days. People are losing everything. Children are being subjected to starvation at the hands of Israeli protestors blocking critical aid to be delivered.
Silence is complicity when you're talking about massive platforms like Critical Role. D20's Brennan Lee Mulligan spoke out, why can't Matthew Mercer?

People talk about being successful. Most times, they are measuring it monetarily. Earning money can be a part of success, but it's only part of it. What you do with that money determines the level of success that you achieve. At least, in my opinion. I don't think that you need money to be successful. Most people would, probably, say that I'm not successful. Monetarily, they are right. I don't have a lot of money, but I still know that I am a success. I know because I'm very, very, very good at interacting with others. Wherever I go and whoever I meet, I like to make things better for everyone that I can. It turns out that there are many opportunities to do so. I, usually, leave people smiling and laughing. A lot of times, they're shaking their heads and rolling their eyes, saying, "Oh my God!! , but they're, definitely, enjoying the experience. I make them feel better about their day, their situation, and themselves. I help people in every way that I can. I have, actually, helped little old ladies across the street. I have bought food for the less fortunate. I have cooked in soup kitchens and in senior centers. I have worked with kids. I've bought school supplies and coats for kids. I've headed up food drives. I've done a lot of volunteering, but I, also, make it a point to make the people that I meet in my everyday activities smile and feel cared for. I bring people cakes just because it makes them happy and let's them know that they're special and someone notices that and someone cares enough to make sure that they feel special. I always say thank you whenever I can. I am rich with great kids, a great dog, and great friends. I am rich with the people I meet and the people I see during the week. I am very successful because I make a positive difference in the world. To many, it seems like I don't do anything major, but to the few that I have connected with throughout my life, I make their lives better. To me, that IS major. I'm posting this not to make myself sound like I'm so cool or something. I am posting this to let people know that they can be or are very successful if they are treating people like they would want to be treated. They are successful if they are making a positive difference in people lives. They are successful if they go out of their way to do that certain little something that will brighten someone's day. They are successful if they have good manners and act politely. They are successful by caring, and helping, and sharing something with others, even if it's just a hello and a smile. We can all be great successes through love and we can all do this. I think that's true success. Anyone who has a lot of money, but doesn't reinvest it in the world around them is poor, in my opinion. I'm just saying. We all can take care of each other and by doing so we take care of ourselves. It feels sooooooo good. Win win! True success, for sure. Let's all be successful and make the world a happier, easier, and more accepting place in which to live. All it takes is a smile and a kind word and you're on your way.... 😍❤️💜❤️

Razz is an Inca Lumi with a fire glow pattern. The purpose of the Lumi is to share their light wherever they travel. My goal as an artist is to use my creative spark to show love to others in unique ways. My hope is that it inspires others to do the same thing with the spark they have been given. I truely believe if people can connect authentically in love, we can make the world a better place. ✨

When someone has a bad haircut, you don’t tell them anything. If you say it looks stupid, what are they supposed to do about that? Make it grow faster? And obviously no fake-as-velveeta compliments; that makes them feel good about their sad toupee—and we can’t have that. No, just stand and stare at them, with a very neutral look on your face, like you’re debating where to cross the street during rush hour. A look is worth a thousand words especially when it displays middling contempt

If I were in charge, first order of business is to taxe the super rich for a universal basic income.
Next, we're tying politicians wages to the average income of their riding. You can't represent people if you think yourself above people.
With that, we tie minimum wage to inflation and use it as a baseline to cap rent, utilities, insurances. Create a public record so nobody can rip you off.
End price gouging entirely. Enforce the retail/wholesale markup and investigate companies with suspicious profits. Tax businesses higher based on the CEO/Baseline staff pay gap - less than 30% are eligible for government grants, everything above gets taxed heavier with the highest gap.
No more super rich. Nobody needs that much money. Those people need to start investing in their companies and their people instead of making millions a day on the back of their workers.
Housing programs. Land allotments. You turn 25 years old, congratulations, here's a house and a plot of land. Do with it as you may, but you may not be allotted another plot for another 25 years if you squander it. Why's that?
You turn 50? Welcome to your retirement package? You want travel? You want crafts? You want a cottage in the woods? Ask and you get; you served your time, we've got you. Rest, enjoy the rest of your life. Spend your years doing what brings you peace. As long as you're not hurting anyone who doesn't want to be hurt, you good, boo.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving! Today is a day where we should be grateful. We should be thankful for the life we have, for the lives we’ve lost, and the new lives that shall be welcomed to this world.
Of course life can be unfair, though. It’s not all “cupcakes and rainbows”, and that’s just how it is, and basically how it has to be. You can’t live life without tragedy. Some of you know that better than anyone. It can be devastating to see a good thing end, but sometimes it’s for the better.
A book I love to hate (if that makes sense) is called “A Child Called: It”. It’s an autobiography about a boy named Dave Pelzer. His childhood was… traumatizing and heartbreaking. And so very cruel.
I cried. A lot.
His mother, Catherine Pelzer tortured him in various ways since he was four years old. His life was one of the most tragic lives I’ve ever heard of.
Here is that story: (READ AT YOUR OWN RISK) There is cursing, and MANY forms of abuse.
Sometimes, that’s just how it is…
Moving on, you’ll never know when someone will die. Maybe your family fell apart, and no one wants to talk to one another. Maybe it’s a divorce. Or an argument. Or someone said the wrong thing at the wrong time.
They refuse to communicate. They want to get out of each other’s lives. They hate each other so much. Their hate is so powerful- they forget what the fight even was…
Then… someone dies. No apology. No goodbye.
Then they realize it’s far too late to fix anything.
Another story isn’t even mine, it’s my teachers’. Two of them. Different funerals. Different deaths. Different reasons. But both deaths were of no other than teenagers.
Barely adults. They never even got to be adults. They just… died.
One of their deaths was caused by carelessness. A sleepy driver in an 18 wheeler crashed into the girl’s car, split the car in half and she ended up flying out and getting impaled by a tree branch right in the stomach.
Overall, just be careful on what choices you make. Specifically on how you treat people. It can make a major difference in their lives. For the better, or for the worst. But then again, it’s your life and how you choose to live it.
So here’s a project you can complete for today:
Go to Google slides and make at least 2-5 slides about why you’re grateful for someone and send it to them.
Or write a letter. Or call someone.
You can really make a positive impact on someone’s day today.
Because you never know when it will be the last time you’ll see them.

(I kinda rushed this- sorry! 😭 I will edit soon!)

the barista at the my local coffee shop complimented my hair (which I’m growing out) and said looked amazing and worked really well for my face which was doubly great because I literally just shower, brush through, and let air dry because I’m too lazy to do any styling and let me tell you that comment made my day. So sweet. shit like this gets me out of bed in the mornings
