If you don't maintain your car sort of like maintaining your body , things start to breakdown. I was listening to a podcast today and they said that the most expensive vehicle to maintain is a Bmw (over 17 000 dollars over a 10 year period). Sure, the dealer will tell you that this is the “ultimate driving machine” – but you have to maintain it, like any other vehicle, and this one just costs more. So with the car you know you could get brake problems or air condition issues or whatever. Your body is similar, if you don't maintain it or take good care of it, it will breakdown too. You may certain health issues; maybe stomach issues or maybe skin problems, etc... You also must put good stuff in. An example is gas. If you try to run it on cheap stuff, it won't run as good compared to a more expensive fuel. Our bodies are analogous - if you continually eat junk vs healthy food, you will feel it. Above is a pie chart diagram that describes my stress right now. My stress levels are off the roof right now, no thanks to my exams. I have an exam coming up this week and it’s been bothering me all weekend. My stress is divided into exams, gym routine, good GPA, and social life. A lot of these things are stressful because they seem to be a trade off for one another. It is incredibly hard to manage all of these things together, especially if you want to succeed in one of them so badly. Here are some steps I have taken to improve all of these stress items: 1. Eat healthy food. 2. Sleep less. and 3. I have started divided all my notes into different colours because it seems to work better with memorisation.

Apparently I posted something controversial back in the winter that caused someone to respond to me quite defensively. As I ran on the beach (wasting my vacation head space), I thought: “I can see where this person is coming from if those are their views… but they must also understand where I’m coming from if they had the information I do…??” And that’s when it hit me. Duh. 1. This person DOESN’T have the same information I do. 2. Even if they did, it doesn’t sound like they are OPEN enough to even WANT to have another opinion on the matter. They are upset because they see this as black or white. The more we see things as black/white or right/wrong, the more JUDGMENTAL we are. The more judgmental we are, the more we tend to get strong emotional reactions. But this also has to do with how open we are. They are also upset because they are not being very OPEN. So whenever I find myself feeling this reactive to what someone else has to say, I ask myself, “How OPEN are you being in this conversation?” and the answer is usually, not very! To defuse emotional reactions, ask yourself: 1. Am I considering more than one perspective in this situation? 2.
