I get why people headcanon that Trucy would call Edgeworth "Uncle Miles" because it represents how close he is to Nick and Trucy and how he's basically part of the family etc. HOWEVER I cannot help but imagine the shock and horror of passersby who hear Trucy call one man "uncle" and one "daddy" as they watch Nick and Miles interact lovingly in public and come to the conclusion that Nick is openly cheating on his spouse with his spouse's brother.

A mess of notebooks and papers. I've taken to organizing them in multiple piles across my floor. Somewhere slowly functionality over aesthetics has taken over life. My various fragile and beautiful fountain pens swapped for a sturdy indestructible rotring 600 ballpoint. Beautifully kept notebooks exchanged for loose sheets of paper flouncing around. To some extent, I do miss the enforced slowness of the other tools. At the same time, I've always had an aesthetic obsession which has often been suffocating. It has been nice to let go.

I know that Elizabeth and Mr Darcy's love story in Pride and Prejudice can provide a lovely escapist fantasy at times, and certain adaptations absolutely add to the dreaminess of it all... but a healthy dose of realism is also beneficial every once in a while, before you get too far into the whole 'I wish I could be a Regency woman with no rights, no thoughts... only a husband to take care of me,' mindset.

Just from the story itself, perhaps it isn't so dreamy when you consider that you would have been far more likely to meet with a Mr Collins or a Mr Wickham than a Mr Darcy. Perhaps your father would not have been as much of a deadbeat as Mr Bennet, and you would have been forced to marry a man who you could neither love nor respect, like a Mr Collins, all so you would not end up as a financial burden to your family. Or, perhaps you would have been preyed upon by a man like Mr Wickham, who would have ruined not only your reputation but that of your family's, too. Even if he did marry you (though knights in shining armour like Mr Darcy who would make it so didn't exactly exist) he would likely soon fall out of love with you and renege on his vows. All while you were held to a different standard to him and expected to remain faithful and to obey him.

As for the real historical context itself, ever heard of coverture? A legal term where, upon marriage, a woman ceased to be a person under the law and instead became her husband's property. She could not own anything because she was not seen as an independent human being. This was not repealed until the late 19th century in the UK, under the Married Women's Property Act 1870 and I hardly need point out that even then, women were far from equal rights.

Regarding the "SP pushed the ichiruki agenda" there's an argument that people often misses, because yeah if they brainwashed everyone to ship IR why would this exactly be a problem? "Is because they erased canon ships moments!1!1!!" ok but how did they know? Did Kubo told someone in the studio which couples were going to be canon? The "biggest" IR filler scenes (that Kubo adored mind you) were BEFORE the couples become canon, so it doesn't make sense to blame them for not adding it? Also Kubo never complained about it, neither when it was airing neihter when the manga ended.

Also Kubo talked about IR having matching underwear as merch and did the honeymoon spread drawing, of course the studio wouldn't think that giving more fanservice is a bad thing when the author himself acts like this 😭. They probably thought IR was going to be the endgame.
