Tumblr: Isn't it funny how Japanese light novels have such improbably long titles? Isn't it weird?

Also fiddling with my human Loop design some more because ... it's fun and Loop in general has taken over my brain lately. I haven't even finished watching everything related to SASASAP but I can't help it 😔

In reality I feel like Loop would probably just wear loose comfy things that don't require a lot of thought for a WHILE but they can be my fashion doll anyway. (Also my human!Loop needs a name and I have 0 ideas at the moment...)

hello friends. the day seems to have finally come that wikimedia is no longer being maintained, at least not fully, meaning fanlore's pages of preserved fanzines have been deleted.

because of this, you will notice source links on my fanzine posts no longer work. a small part of me hopes this is temporary, but i have the sinking feeling it was a long time coming. if the end isn't now, it'll be soon.

i have many fanzine pages still in my drafts, however without fanlore i may not be able to source them or find background information as well as i have in the past. i will continue posting them anyway, but i just wanted to make it known that if you see more "unknown artist" attributions or "date unknown," this is why.

some snapshots have been made using the way back machine. i don't know how long links within those archived pages will continue working, but i will try my best to preserve everything i can.

the internet is not a safe place for preservation anymore. it's debatable whether it ever was. anything that cannot be monetized will be forced to shrink until nothing is left. it's too late to return to physical media. this will continue to be the new normal.

i'm very thankful to have had these months to explore the wonderful world of fanzines so freely. it will be harder now, but i intend to keep going and sharing what i can <3

ngl i honestly don’t think that homura was planning to genuinely kill sayaka in ep. 8.

i mean, if u just take the scene of face value, it obviously seems that way: homura declares that she doesn’t care abt sayaka or if she lives or dies (which is 100% a lie, she may not like sayaka very much but she def cares abt her just like she does the other girls), and then raises her soul gem to her face in a threatening manner before kyoko shows up.

but that’s exactly it: homura puts her soul gem in front of sayaka’s FACE, not her soul gem, which is the only thing that can actually kill a magical girl.

so why wouldn’t homura just attack her soul gem directly? it wouldn’t be hard to do; sayaka is incredibly weak and depressed/suicidal atp, and homura could easily just snatch her soul gem/ring and break it, esp considering her time manipulation.

and when kyoko shows up, homura doesn’t put up a fight at all; she just stares stoically at sayaka. and even when homura DOES use a bomb to get away, you see how she doesn’t go to sayaka to finish the job. why would she have given up that easily, despite the fact that killing sayaka would still be very easy to do?

i think it could have been a last, desperate attempt to maybe "wake" sayaka up, a threat to get her to heal herself before her inevitable turning into a witch or smth. homura isn't above being harsh or using deception to achieve her goals, as she's done it multiple times (esp in rebellion), and i don't think it's necessarily any different here.

you know that feeling when you walk out of a cinema, not really sure who you are anymore?

yeah.

i just went to see DreamWorks' the wild robot on previews and i feel that way; the animation, the story, the voice actors, the vibes, the subtle social commentary regarding a.i. and climate change.. just... yghHHH so good.

I'd write up a review but I'm so blown away I can't put my thoughts into words (that, and I don't want to spoil it)

imo this is DreamWorks best film. ever.…closely rivalled by Shrek, but not by much. i'd go as far to say this is the best original (not sequel) animated film I have since the original Inside Out released in 2015.

oh, my, gosh. 10/10. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

this one is going to fly at the 2025 Oscars - even up against Inside Out 2 I would not be surprised if it takes out best animated feature and/or best adapted screenplay... and has a shot at nominations for best picture, and best original score.. 🤞

and will (hopefully) help boost DreamWorks to new heights

Tamagotchi Worldwide Sales Double from 2022 to 2023

Excellent news! Reported by both BBC and New York Post, the Tamagotchi comeback is in full swing. Gen Z is reviving the Tamagotchi that the millennials know and love. Bandai Namco has ported that worldwide sales of Tamagotchi have doubled from 2022 to 2023.

The BBC article mentions that this helped drive the opening of the Official Tamagotchi Shop at the Bandai Namco Cross store in London. In fact since Tamagotchi was reintroduced to UK back in 2019 (with the Tamagotchi Original) sales have been growing with a mix of players from young to old.

Priya Jadeja Bandai Namco UK Brand Manager who joined back in 2019 mentions the new features of the Tamagotchi Uni including Wi-Fi, and how this is combating the sense of fatigue you might have gotten from earlier models. Which does make sense, the monthly Tama Arena events, and frequent gifts keep the play pattern very exciting.

We really also like how Priya mentions that for kids growing up with iPhone’s and iPad’s the Tamagotchi experience feels unique, but the gameplay is similar.
