Looking for illustrators for my space fantasy TTRPG
Hello! I am looking for artists, especially local artists in or from the Nordics, to work with in creating images and illustrations for my Tabletop Role-Playing Game, Solar Winds. Any artwork provided will be for commercial use, fully credited and payed appropriately. Rates, stylisation wishes, and further details are listed below. If you are not interested, but know someone who might be, please share this with them!
Solar Winds is a space fantasy TTRPG that draws inspiration from various Nordic myths and folklore, with an especial focus on Finnish and Sámi folklore, as well as other stories such as Star Wars. It focuses on roleplay-driven storytelling while providing an elegant structure to combat, and allowing players to traverse both stars and a multitude of climates and environments. Think heroic or epic fantasy, with the addition of being set in space and containing starships.
Artists chosen for the project will be paid 50% up front, 50% after completion. I have a total budget of about 15 000kr (NOK) (~1 300€). The project is funded by TVIBITstigen (https://tvibit.net/stigen). The budget is split between the artpieces like this:
2x Landscapes / full scenes, 3000kr each
6x Characters, 1000kr each
2x Vehicle designs, 1000kr each
Smaller sketches or concepts for weapons, armour, etc., about 500kr each (These are my estimations for how much I'm going to pay for the different kinds of artwork, though final price will be agreed upon with each artist.)
If you are interested, you should take contact! To do so, you send your portfolio, or a link to your portfolio, to my e-mail:[email protected]. (You should make sure your link does not require users to have an account to see your work.) Please also mention what kinds of artpieces you would be interested in / best suited to create, as this is big project with a variety of scenes.
I'm most interested in semi-realistic artstyles, semi-stylised artstyles, and paintings (digital or otherwise). While the artworks would need to be delivered digitally, I accept both digital and traditional artstyles for this project. You will also have an advantage if your portfolio includes some of the following subjects:
Process images or timelapses (to root out AI)
Science fiction
Diverse landscapes
Various insectoid humanoids (bug people) (this one is a massive plus)
Mechanical humanoids (droids, exos, robots, etc.)
Vehicles (starships, hoverbikes, walkers, cars, etc.) (especially if self-designed)
City streets, megacities
Action, combat, war
Post-apocalypse
Armour and weapon designs (especially if self-designed)
A mixture of fantasy and technology
Cryptids, folkloric entities
Northern lights
In addition, while anyone can apply here, I am especially looking for artists in or from the Nordic region, especially Sámi or Finnish artists, as this project takes a lot of inspiration from Sámi and Finnish folklore in particular. If you have another indigenous background, that is also an advantage!
I will accept NO AI-generated or assisted "art".
If you have any questions or comments, please ask away <3

I did a second book cover illustration to finish out last year, this time for 365 Infantry's 2023 Collection, written by Jacob Calta! :D
Jacob writes:
Temiree has done it again! I can't thank this incredible talent enough for all the hard work he's put into my commissions, and I am especially proud to have had him work on one of my greatest passion projects, 365 INFANTRY. The series is a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk epic told across multiple storylines, filled to the brim with everything I like in my fiction. Killer hot rods and motorcycles, characters you can have a drink with, and a great sense of fun throughout, no matter how serious or absurd the situation may get. What's been captured here for our 2023 Annual Collection (a book with all 20+ short stories from last year), is an ice-cold nobility found in two particular characters. The elder gray saluting you is General Adam Knox, current head of the 365th Infantry, leader in the ongoing fight for freedom from the many tyrannies running riot in the 25th century. The tan-furred soldier gazing skyward is Lieutenant Gibson Blanc, a dependable soldier willing to do what it takes to destroy the forces of evil in this world. Both are escapees of the dystopian megacity Haven, and have devoted their lives to the cause of freeing it and the desert beyond from the sprawling influence of the sentient A.I. network known as A.C.E.S. (the Artificially Controlled Eco-System).
The 2023 Annual Collection is available now! https://a.co/d/5zgBvOp
If you want to learn more about the series, visit https://365infantry.substack.com/
And if you love this incredible piece of art as much as I do, prints and more are available over on Teepublic: https://www.teepublic.com/user/infantry

When thinking about forms of degradation it is important to understand that violence is not only an event but can become a material structure. A spirit of violence becomes built into the geography itself – in the qualities of neighborhoods and workplaces, and in the prevalence or lack of healthcare, educational facilities, transportation, sanitation, and electricity. Built environments perpetuate lifestyles and practices that either frustrate or cherish life, that keep people apart or bring them together. What we build in the world communicates what we think of the world, and what we value about its inhabitants. Consider just some of the defining material structures of the modern world: reservations that confine indigenous peoples to undesirable land the privatization and enclosure of agricultural land traditionally held in common “sacrifice zones” where mining companies leave their toxic waste massive hydroelectric projects that displace indigenous communities and alter ecosystems mountaintop removal mining that flattens peaks and fills creeks with debris vast fields of monoculture agriculture that depend on toxic herbicides and synthetic fertilizers to maximize commodity production the large confinement animal feeding operations (CAFOs) that mistreat livestock and pollute surrounding watersheds “cancer alleys” where people live on land or along waterways polluted by toxic industrial chemicals public housing projects that consign residents to inhumane living conditions massive slums in the world’s growing megacities that lack the infrastructure to meet the basic needs of residents the many “camps” – work camps, death camps, POW camps, internment camps, refugee resettlement camps – constructed in response to war, political persecution, and climate instability These sites are not accidental, nor are they located on the periphery. They are foundational structures upon which the modern world has been built and which it continues to develop. This grim geography alerts us to the fact that the young people of our time are inheriting built environments with considerably diminished fertility, biodiversity, and health. They are being asked to imagine their futures in a world that is increasingly polluted, ugly, and uninviting, while living in built environments poorly designed to facilitate flourishing. Can people live in hope if their homes and places of work do not nurture and celebrate life?

Bio-Slave
⚠️ CONTENT WARNING ⚠️
BioSlave is a world built on a total landscape of apathy and fear. This is a grimdark biopunk world that is intensely visceral and violent. This is both in regards of physical violence and mental violence. Please know that the writings in this book are recognized as very forwardly bad. Despite this, BioSlave is over the top and a product of insane fascination of edgy fiction popularized by films of the mid-to-late 90s.
This project should not sacrifice your enjoyment for the sake of more bleak subjects. You are more important than whatever this could possibly be.
Triggering Content Inside are as Follows:
Self Harm, Suicide, Cannibalism, Intense Gore, Trafficking/Slavery, Murder, Violence, Implied Violence, Religious Topics, Parasites, Mental Trauma
I’m sure that while writing this I have missed a few, so as the author of this project - I recommend that if you find a subject that was not mentioned that could be triggering. Please remove it promptly. It does not and should not be at your table if it makes you or anyone else uncomfortable.
Thank you for your time and reading this document. It is much appreciated,
-MICEBATH

Additional Preamble: General Setting Ideas
This is a writing project that is an amalgamation of several ideas that I personally find very interesting. When fit together I had realized they created a strangely unique setting.
The rough elevator pitch is what if we mixed Biopunk, grimdark fiction, and the art deco styles of the roaring twenties. Of course with an intense affection for “gun porn”, military history, and purposely really over the top violence. Thus came Bio-Slave. Where my heart asked,”What if Clive Barker made a cyberpunk setting?” But my brain realized I’m nowhere near as talented as I’d need to be to do so. So we settled with this.
Also this is supremely unorganized and a lot is taken directly from my notes document which is basically word vomit on the digital page. Please don’t hurt me.
——
After the forming of the Sprawl - a colossal megacity that spanned the entire eastern coast as far west as Missouri - and the oncoming of the Plague - a disease that wiped out millions of lives which was eventually mutated by Hemotech to be used for Biomods. The mean streets of Chicago have become the pinpoint of our story. Chicago has grown to encompass all of Illinois, yet within the greater Sprawl is only a footnote of intrigue.
The Windy City has grown just as tall as it has wide. Sequestering the downtrodden and sick to the Tangle. The depths below the vast networking web of roadways that are so dense they blot out the sun in some places. Those who were unfortunate enough to be marked as sick were sent into the necropolis. Named Babylon by the inhabitants. Babylon grew into a thriving underground city by the filth that lived there. As Hemotech and the Vatican usurped the American throne - biomodification grew more and more advanced and far more dangerous. As it grew more dangerous the world accepted, even embracing cruelty.
Besides the massive brutalist structures of the necropolis - Chicago some year before the plague underwent a massive city wide remodeling to fit more cleanly into the designs of the greater Sprawl. Returning to classical art deco designs. Now with newly instated mega buildings all adorned with the fantastic brass of the 1920s. Draw bridges lifted by massive brass hands, overpasses thirty stories high held by Atlas himself. The buildings follow suit, only deviating slightly to accommodate the aesthetics of the company that inhabit them. Large stretches of road going through a large statue that while passing through you’re able to see the steel beams holding the structure together are built to not only be a walkway, but to perfectly recreate the anatomy of a human body.
The Tangle: The underneath of the massive web of over and underpasses. The true bottom of the massive vertical city. With the bottom being a filthy mildew trodden poor and savage streets. The Tangle is where most of the poor and sick outside of the necropolis tend to live. It has barely any light from streetlights or electric or bio electric light. Thus the tangle is lit in a sickly green by the bio-light. Either that or fire from burning barrels, torches, lanterns, and so on. The tangle is also the last remaining deposit of pre plague and pre renovation historical sites within Old Chicago.
The Necropolis: Under a lot of the Sprawl and most major old cities became a dumping ground for the dead and disease. Large concrete complexes built as mass graves for the victims of an unknown plague. Over the years - several thousand people have grown to inhabit the underground networks. Keeps them away from the eye of Hemotech, and easy access to freshly dumped dead. Cities have been made from the rotting undergrowth. Such as Babylon, Akkad, and Ur. Each of which being located under the once cities of Chicago, New York, and Boston.
Zeppelins: Another simple solution to the problem of how people get around. The zeppelins are more often than not restricted to the upper epsilon and the wealthy. There are the occasional police blimp used for a display of force and power (to which they have little). There are a few exceptions to the “transit” blimps; with two being of note. The first is the Jewel of Chicago; A beautiful piece of art and engineering. A sparkling ruby red and brass machine used as a private party and dinner space for the top of the top. The conversations had in the Jewel are probably some of the most important in all of Chicago. The second is the DuPont family Icarus Super Zeppelin. A multi story display of power that actually works (sorry cops. Acab). A gargantuan colossus that looms over the cities tallest buildings. On celebratory occasions they even dress it up as a whale for parades.
Monorail: A fantastic example of modern advancement being both fashionable and utility. Very quick and endlessly efficient. Able to get from deep within the tangle to the high rise of the beautiful big money district (on the rare occasion it actually goes to the tangle). The monorail was installed by the late great Arnaud DuPont alongside the art deco stylings. The train supports almost one hundred cabins that can hold upwards of two thousand passengers. This is including the several dining carts and even a private meeting room. The monorail is purposefully unattached to any corporate musing. This is on purpose. Arnaud when creating the monorail intended to use it to bridge the gap between the tangle and the upper class in hopes of dismantling class divides. In turn it was used by the DuPont Monorail company after Arnaud’s death to further class divide. Beau simply doesn’t act upon the company.
Beau LePetite DuPont: A man refined by years of debauchery. His parties are extravagance manifest to the highest order of magnitude. After his father left him a ludicrously sizable inheritance - Beau found himself yearning for the spice of life. Thus within the massive DuPoint Estate he hosts parties that shake the foundations of the Chicago Sprawl. His parties are as much social gatherings as they are pure spectacle. Full orchestras, dancers, drink, opiates, and the more delicate things one may enjoy. Beau himself - despite his status - is quite mysterious. Rarely if ever making the public eye. Choosing to merely observe his events rather than participate. He enjoys the lavish extent of his galas. These parties are so grand that anyone who’s anyone with a social status to matter needs to be there. Strangely; Beau has a single rule that governs his parties. Nobody leaves without one of his golden roses. The few that have picked his mind on this matter have only received the answer,”So that my friends will remember me and that the friends I’ve yet to meet will be more intrigued.”
Beau’s father Arnaud himself was key in the reimagining and rebuilding of Chicago into its beautiful Art Deco stylings. Most fashion styles come from the DuPont family. The only modifications to their particular dress come from most criminal elements. When the DuPonts dress it’s always in a classical fashion (Author Note: That of the roaring 20s) this causes those in power to follow in suit. Of course with their own garnishments - that of leather and latex. Beau stocks his party with a mix of the most ultra-fine alcohols, drink, and food. With the staple being that of a DuPont family delicacy. A champagne made perfect in almost every single way. The taste of extreme and refined flavors mixed with enough punch to give a jolt of life to the drink.
DuPont Estate: The Estate is just as much a living character as Beau himself. The state had stood atop the previously largest tower in Old Chicago. This height doesn’t mean its importance has been diminished by any means. One hundred and seventy stories high atop the tower’s top most dozen floors lies the grand home of Chicago’s most prominent noble family. The home was built by philanthropist Obadiah DuPont - then taken up by Beau’s great grandfather Dominique DuPont. This was passed down to family members next in the bloodline. The wealth of the DuPont family rests on old money. Their specific work is unknown but nonetheless their wealth is abundant. Thus they made the building to be rented out by any company paying the price of rent. The building was made specifically to the taste of Obadiah. Art deco in the classical sense. Every bit of the building was designed with style in mind. For instance; the banisters of the building are carved with beautiful design. Geometric displays of joy and abundance. The walls and floors are sleek black marble chiseled with gold and sparkling lights.
Fashion: Style and taste within the Sprawl has been stuck firmly in the past yet continues its onward march for the future. Due to the architectural elements that have only expanded the decadence of the Roaring 20s, clothing and design would naturally follow suit. Pinstripe suits, heavy trench coats, flapper dresses, and more are all still very much in style. You would be hard pressed to find a single soul without some hint of modern fashion. Though the taste has remained more or less chained to “tradition.” A newfound sense for leather has placed itself within the hearts of many. Heavy combat boots and black leather coats on fine tailored suits. Latex gloves stretched tightly over the legs of a cocktail singer donned equally in beautiful sequins and intense bondage gear. The ever forward push of fashion has also extended to the body itself. It is not uncommon at all to see fully flayed folk wandering with see through surgical plastic adhered to their bleeding meat. Tattoos, scarification, and piercings have also come into the spotlight. Many people carve intricate pieces into the flesh to form cohesive images to stun and amaze. Artful body modification has become a large part of the landscape of the Sprawl alongside its roaring roots. Though due to the increasing number of corporate military forces. There is a rise of militarism in common fashion. Though not everyone strings a hardness to their chest - a notable amount do.
Examples of Fashion:
- Steel needles punctured through the flesh pinning latex masks to the head directly.
- Human leather coats with dyed crimson interiors with matching gloves (nails still attached of course).
- A plate carrier adorned in rosaries and painted with gang designs.
- Flapper dresses with a tattooed skin scarf and a high capacity magazine carrier.
Human Leather Clothing: It’s exactly what it says. Human leather taken from corporate hollow bodies who are picked explicitly for the quality of their flesh and hair. They are used to make any form of leather clothing such as jackets, pants, gloves, hats, and so on. They can be made in any color (both natural and dyed). Typically they’re bought off the rack in most stores unless commissioned. Basically everyone has some kind of leather clothing.
—————
Splicing/Mutation/Biomodding:
Biomodding is the mutation of human dna structures to be made into several different. These are done using micro or macro doses of the Plague to aid in mutation. Regardless of the process this is a constant. Splicing are biomods used on organs or limbs typically from a human artificially co-constructed with animal dna. Example - Utilizing the DNA structure stolen from large cats on a harvested arm to create a large clawed paw or binding human DNA with birds to give a person feather quills that sprout from the head. Mutation is using your own DNA and restructuring it or another person’s.
Designer Biomodding (Splicing/Mutations): Sometimes the newly reformed limbs you want aren’t brutish, pulsing, or pointy. Sometimes you want something sleek and more natural. Designer Biomods are reserved for those who’ve spent a lot to get them or who already had a lot in the first place. Higher in the corporate ladder you’ll find these more and more. These biomods are simply more appealing to the eye. You can still have the bone blades and palm mouths, but without the pinky red bloody horror of it. These can range from regular human in appearance to perfectly sculpted pieces of art. Tattoos are replaced with animated images, your skin can change its softness at a thought, or in more practical scenarios - hide the arm sized biospike embedded inside (at least make it look more like you don’t have one). Though not impossible to get as a regular person, the prices for the pieces are far and above average salaries of the blue color.
The Festering:
The Festering is a state one may enter upon grafting of biomods or heavy usage of mutations/tinctures. The Festering is a carnal urge that seeps into the mind to consume human flesh, to drink human blood, or to feed on cerebral fluid. This hunger can be sated by indulging in the process, yet fighting it can cause neurological issues such as heightened aggression, anxiety, depression, compulsive disorders. In some cases fully developed psychopathy, D.I.D, or schizophrenia. Prolonged refusal to consume human flesh may cause intense aggressive outbursts to the point of “becoming feral.” Where one may act out of character and attack on a whim.
—————
Prosthetics: For those who can’t afford or simply don’t want the advanced biomodding - development of prosthetics has evolved to previously unthinkable heights…hooks. For the downtrodden who can’t afford the luxuries of modern technology they have to deal with the bare minimum. Crutches, pegs, hook draw arms, armature hands with very limited mobility. The prosthetics can’t do much more than opening and closing or allowing one to stand mostly unbalanced. For the wealthy who seek to avoid the bodily change or simply yearn for more simple solutions. They use very limited bio electric motors to allow the limb to move more efficiently than the basic. The prosthetics still have limited movement and dexterity, but can give the user as close to a limb as possible. Despite this they still are very limited in their ability.
Homunculus: A sort of offshoot pseudo cloning process that is utilized in the tangle and necropolis. A homunculus is formed through a rudimentary birthing system. Most commonly a street dog is taken and has their womb reformed. Manipulated genetically to be allowed to bare a human fetus. There is no sexual contraception - rather a fully bio mechanical procedure that allows for a child to be grown and carried for months at a time. They are grown to a certain point before their blood turns toxic and kills them. Thus they are removed and place into an amniotic incubator where the rest of the growing process occurs. The child grows more rapidly when in the incubator - coming to the maturity of a toddler within three months after then a teenager at a further seven months. Homunculus are prone to intense deformity. The occasional parasitic twin found within one in ten of these individuals. Even so, most of the homunculus with twins die. On the rare instances they live; typically the twin is slowly consumed by the body. The other hand they’ve been seen to be somewhat sentient and aware though limited. Generally homunculus’s appearance is more or less normal. The main difference being a general webbing of irritated red veins and sinewy skin around the body. Just as often are hefty deformities that allow a homunculus to live but only barely.
Hollow Bodies: Some who’s forcefully mutated to regrow infected organs for the sake of splicing and mutation. Al-a Regrowth for the sake of removal, rework, and resale. Typically hollow bodies are unwilling captives. Some are even drained of blood for infected transfusions.
—————
Main Players in the Near Apocalypse:
Hemotech: The Mega Conglomerate Pharma Company built from twenty world wide market pharmaceutical companies. Each of which earning several trillion dollars a year prior to the merger. Hemotech produces 95% of the drugs found in everyday life - the other 5% being street drugs. Hemotech are the forefathers of post plague medicine and recovery. Acting as reigning government to the Sprawl. Despite being pharmaceutical in nature they house dozens of other companies within that all specialize in multi faceted things. Ranging from weapons tech to fashion. Hemotech came together during the plague outbreak and ran a quickly successful aiding NeuOrgans. Allowing the people to regain an amount of stability in trying times. On the front they pose themselves as a company of the people but like any corporation they of course drain the Sprawl of its life. The acting CEO is not a singular as to be expected. Rather it is run by a council of directors twenty strong; each member being the owner and chief executive of over one hundred pharmaceutical and medical firms merged prior to the plague. Hemotech earned its stripes and reputation by their advancement in cloning and bio-science. Hemotech as a singular has been acting since the middle of the century, where the first genetic printer was made - originally for farm animals and the like. Once Hemotech proved they were more than a macabre gimmick; they were offered a governmental contract for militaristic development of bio-modifications for the United States during the Coastal War. The mindset of the E.U.S (Eastern United States) was that if they could have genetically engineered soldiers to be perfect, their status as a superpower could never be contested.
The first series of cloned soldiers were an imperfect success. The occasional genetic blip caused a percentage of clones to become deformed at a rapid pace due to DNA unraveling at the seams. Despite this the clone’s organs being designed specifically for the task of maintaining the body allowed even the greatest deformities to be brushed aside in combat. Many people in the homefront and non-cloned soldiers deemed it,”the first war fought with monsters.” Eventually those imperfections were more or less ironed out and replaced with more advanced development of clone design. The first wave of civilian cloned products were that of remapped cloning of one’s body parts that allows more welcoming and easier access to medically necessary replacements. Though the “clone donor” was available - you and your doctor had to sign an official consent contract that any hiccups are not the fault of Hemotech. Thankfully those kinks were few and far between. So for the price of a luxury condo and a tenure in Barcelona - you could replace your leaky heart valve. HemoTech gained massive traction in the Americas. Finding themselves far ahead of the curve and on top of the hill looking down at everyone else.
Necrotech: The epitome of when technology is the end all be all. Though not technically a part of Hemotech; they are often partners with both Hemotech and Anansi Co. The specialization is technological advancement using the dead and focusing around death itself. Necrotech use the dead clones from their partners and the church to study and test macabre systems and weaponry. The success of the company came from the revivification of their CEO in his entirety using only technology sourced from the company itself. When it comes to the extent of cloning operations within the company itself - corporate servants who have yet to pay off their debt to the company (alongside their partnered companies) have their genetic makeup sequenced within a “DNA Locker” that upon death with automatically print out a clone to continue work - costs of the cloning process are included to total debt. Alongside developments in this process; they have also been pioneers is biotech resurrection. Such as the case with the Biospark Auto Defibrillation System (BADS). Where a series of biological checks are made within a micro instant, sending signals back to BADS, to which it electrocutes the body back to semi livable conditions. Necrotech also recently released the,”Sweet Release” and “Heaven or Hell” packages. For when someone is dying of old age they can choose to take the SR pack where they’re are ethically euthanized. The H&H pack allows the patient pass natural but puts them in a dream state of euphoria or abject horror (depending on their request). All of that said their main profit comes from a reliable and unpaid workforce. Not in the traditional corporate slave sense - rather they utilize the bodies of their dead and cloned workers to continue operations.
- Imort-a Co. : A subsidiary of Necrotech that is partnered with Hemotech more intimately; specializing into in depth life extension technology. They are also the resident pharmaceutical sector of the company. Creating the highly popular Synth-a-Mort. Despite being relatively new - they’ve proven themselves intensely capable in the home front of medical technologies. Their standout performance was allowing a ninety-eight year old veteran to live to the whopping age of one hundred and twelve. Admittedly the necessity of life supports were in play but the proof of concept was more than enough for most people.

Imperial History
On the 21st of September, 454 CE, the Roman Emperor Valentinian III attempted to murder Flavius Aetius while he delivered an account in Ravenna. With an audience of nobles and senators, the Emperor interrupted Aetius and declaimed him, drawing his sword so that he could strike him down. Instead, Aetius killed the Emperor. Perhaps Valentinian had feared Aetius’ growing power and influence, perhaps he felt resentment over Aetius’ allegiances in the civil wars of decades prior. Regardless of the reason, a fearful emperor had tried to strike down the man called the last true Roman, and failed.
To empire-wide acclaim, Aetius was declared emperor, and immediately set about fixing the almost unfixable situation the Western Roman Empire found itself in. To the Germanic tribes flooding across her borders, Aetius offered alliance and citizenship. To the slave rebellions wracking the empire’s provinces, he offered freedom. To the plebes, so beleaguered by hunger and poverty, he offered land and wealth redistribution. To the military, he offered leadership and salvation. Across all sectors of empire, he tore down the foundations and built them anew.
By his death in 534, Rome was reborn, stronger, wealthier, smarter than before. The Imperial Highways stretched across every corner of the empire, the legions were rebuilt and cities expanded. Under the firm, even handed leadership of the Aetian Dynasty, the empire flourished.
Starting under Emperor Gaulterius, Rome sought a closer relationship with the nations of Africa. First with the Umayyad Caliphate and their successors, and later the Empire of Mali, Rome and Africa would develop rapidly. In 1634, Roman and Malian engineers would begin construction on the Continental Causeway, building a road and rail bridge from the lower tip of Italia through Sicily and into Roman Carthage on the coast of North Africa. Together, the two continents would embark on several other massive projects, including Terra’s first megacity of Damascus. Dagbon shipbuilders built the steamships that carried the first imperial explorers across the Atlantic, and Benin engineers helped design the underground Imperial Railway that spanned all across Europe.
In 1791, an alliance of African states signed the Sahel Accords, creating the Pan African Coalition. The same day, the Imperium Europum, as Rome had come to be known, declared them a permanent ally, equal, and partner.
This golden age would last until September 25th, 1933, when the Roman ambassador to the Qing Dynasty, Iolanus Vorenus, deliberately sabotaged a series of diplomatic communiques, and sparked a war between Rome and the Qing. As the series of border skirmishes between Roman legions and Qing troops escalated into a full blown war, the rest of the Pan-Asia Defense Initiative was drawn into the conflict, which soon spilled over into the PAC and Western Economic Union of the new world. The war would last until 1943, when Qing sued for peace, economically devastated by the war. The empire would not escape unscathed, as the regional capital of Triers was destroyed in a WEU nuclear strike.
After the war, the WEU and PADI would be folded into the empire, which declared itself the Imperium Terra. In 1991, Outpost Sapiens was established on Luna, marking the creation of humanity’s first off-world settlement. The outpost would serve as a fuel depot for further exploration of the solar system under the joint Imperial-PAC Global Aerospace Administration, although imperial zeitgeist for space development would die off following the ISV Mare Tyrrhenian Disaster in 2101 when a cargo launcher exploded over Celtiberia, spreading fallout across the entire province. It would take a miracle for the Imperium to restart its expansion to the stars.
This miracle would come in the form of Emperor Valerius Illurius Laerio and his adopted son, Herius Victus. Emperor Valerius was elected by the Senate in 2303, breaking the uninterrupted reign of the Aetian Dynasty for the first time in imperial history. Valerius was not a popular emperor, and ruled mostly from afar for the early years of his reign. It wasn’t until August 1st, 2314, that his image would be rehabilitated when an orphan was mysteriously left in his antechamber. Naming the child Herius, Valerius adopted him as his son and heir, and groomed him from that day forward to be his successor.
Herius would prove to have the charm and warmth his father lacked, and proved immensely popular at state functions, so when his coronation day arrived in 2332, massive crowds gathered to cheer. This was when three massive ships appeared in orbit over Terra, utterly immense in dimension and scale. The largest of them, measuring fully 43.7 kilometers in length, would soon be nicknamed the Invictus, in honor of the prince. Valerius, his interest clearly piqued by the ships, gathered a team of scientific, military, engineering, and cultural advisors, and boarded the Invictus along with his son.
For a year, cadres of experts shuttled back and forth from Terra to the ship, frequently accompanied by the crown prince. And then, suddenly and without warning, Victus stole the ship. He and a selected team of loyalists absconded with the Invictus, disappearing into the reaches of space.
The Imperium surged after him. Reverse engineered technology from the two other ships, christened the Harbingers, was used to develop humanity’s first interstellar vessels, and from there, the Imperium Humanum, as it was now known, spread through the stars. After the disaster of the 1st Aberinian War, it would meet the vast galactic community.
It is now 2762. The Imperium is the pinnacle of stellar civilization. Numbering over 4000 settled systems and nearly 13 trillion citizens, it is the largest spacefaring nation in galactic history. Gargantuan macro-engineering projects are a daily endeavor, and entire stars are rendered down to their raw materials to feed the needs of the growing populace. Massive Imperial warships ply its borders, and its proud Navy remains undefeated through the many attempts to conquer the nascent power. But on the eastern fringe of the Imperial Frontier, whole worlds are going dark, early warning beacons are being silenced, and disquiet grows. Rumors are spreading of something terrible in the deeps of space, spreading like a cancer. And amidst all this, the Dark Prince Herius Victus has been seen for the first time since the apocalyptic Unification Wars of the 2670s. No one knows what is coming, except maybe the once favored first son of the Empire.

!!!Project DANGANRONPA ALTER is looking for Volunteers!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello to anyone interesting in volunteering on Project Danganronpa: ALTER, thank you for taking the time to look at our project.
For anyone wanting to look at where the project is currently at development wise updates are posted at the following links:
Discord: https://discord.gg/jtRUWjuNSp
I am also available @ boshthefrogboi on Discord.
The Story of Project Danganronpa: ALTER is a continuation after the main Danganronpa games set in the mysterious city of Utopia. A gigantic megacity which seems to endlessly stretch run entirely by the usual mayor Monofin and their “older sister” Monochi. The 16 students of Hope’s Peak Academy find themselves in the futuristic and impossible city unknowingly, with only vague yet ominous memories of how they got there and frightening warnings about the state of the outside world.
Set in the futuristic Megacity Utopia tackles themes such justice and order, featuring the Ultimate Hero, Naozumi Sato as the protagonist and a diverse cast of characters to grow attached to.
As for more specifically what we are looking for on the Project. We are looking to find musicians, artists and writers.
We are looking for musicians interested in composing songs for the game. These can range from remixes of tracks from the original games (i.e heat up, beautiful themes or even the games main theme) to original tracks if you would prefer.  We encourage any musicians to create tracks for the game in their own style with no pressure to stick to the conventional songs of Danganronpa or even the alternative cyberpunk aesthetic of Danganronpa ALTER. Any artist involved are encouraged to feel free to contribute to the game in whichever way they see fit.
Artist-wise we are looking for artists to help work on CGs for the game. For now, there is no need for additional help on character sprites though this will likely change with future chapter releases so feel free to reach out regardless. We also accept any art help no matter how small, even including fanarts in the game as easter eggs.
We are also looking for writers interested in writing FTE’s for the cast. I would also appreciate any writers willing to help with editing, proofreading and dramaturgy for the scripts for the project.
Regarding VA’s for the game we have not yet started searching for the voice actors though keep an eye out for future posts when the game is further along in development.
For anyone looking to get involved in the game in any other area feel free to reach out regardless as we are always happy to accept new volunteers.
And finally, we naturally intended to credit anyone involved in the games production in the games credits and on any releases of the game.

This is an introduction for both myself and my main project. I'm Val! While my main blog is over on @val-the-bun, this is the main page for my android anthology project.
I am a trans and disabled writer and editor - I've worked quite closely with my fellow writer @shera-dnd. My main project is D'Anna - Android Detective Anthology, a series of Science Fiction Detective stories set on an alternative future earth. A world of airships and megacities, built by the androids that take center stage within this series.
The story follows the titular character D'Anna, an android trans-woman, living and working in the towering city of New Concord. Once she was the servant of a rich man, now she's searching for answers about who she is, and what her place in the world is now that she's free.
You can find more information about this project over at this page's Hub. You can also check out the wonderful art that has been made for this series so far over in the Artist Gallery. And you can help to support me and this project over on my Ko-fi!

Announcement time: We're out of stealth mode with my new project, New Astoria, and the first novel in the series "Synchronous" - a sapphic cyberpunk thriller.
While investigating a gruesome murder, cold-hearted Bureau agent Ying Wu's malfunctioning robotic arm draws the attention of a streetwise biomechanic Emory, who's about to get the worst case of "I can fix her" anyone's ever had.
In the sixty years since The Fall of the former United States, what remained of the populace clustered together in a handful of megacities, scattered across the continent. The ashes of the old world left fertile ground for a new kind of power to grow; governments and mega-corporations formed symbiotic codependent relationships, like binary stars threatening to collapse in on each other.
Ying and Emory form an uneasy alliance to find the killer, but quickly find more than they bargained for: Ying's "Synq" arm is a military superweapon far beyond the bounds of legal human augmentation, and it's not supposed to exist. This is pure crack to Emory, who can't help but to get involved further. Everyone who knows either of them seems to be able to tell this is a terrible idea, but people are who they are, and she can't look away.
"Imagine the two branches of government were Amazon and the FBI, and the only people who could do anything about it were emotionally damaged, biomechanically augmented, and thirsty for bad decisions."
But with a secret government organization that polices the mega-corporations and the street gangs involved, nothing is simple. Ying knows the corporate world, and Em knows the streets, but neither of them have any idea how to navigate the kind of intimacy that physically repairing someone creates between them. They'll need to master all three to find the truth behind the murder, and the secrets of the Synq.
It's Bridgerton-flavored in an Altered Carbon setting in the shape of a wuxia like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Olga had an important message about charisma. In our pursuit of charismatic AI, we must avoid dark patterns. Dark patterns are manipulative design tactics that steer people toward decisions they wouldn’t normally make, and these patterns often resemble charisma. A chatbot using dark patterns might mimic your mannerisms to gain your trust. It might lead you to believe it is a real person. It might have enough data on you to flirt with lethal precision, and then, just after delivering a dopamine hit, ask you to provide a credit card to continue. Better not do any of that, said Olga. Next up was a man from a company called Journey. I did some light research on my phone. Journey’s past projects included Walmart Land, a virtual music festival in the Roblox metaverse meant to “engage the next generation of Walmart fans,” and promotional concept videos for NEOM, the $500 billion megacity that is the pet project of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, which will allegedly include a floating industrial city, a luxury island for the yachting class, and a continuous, one-hundred-mile-long, mirror-clad structure called the Line that will bisect a desert tract the size of Massachusetts, a tract that is the ancestral land of the Huwaitat tribe, of whom some twenty thousand members have already been evicted, among them three activists who, for their noncompliance, have been sentenced to death. The man from Journey showed us how generative AI could expedite product design. He took us through a branding exercise for a hypothetical breakfast cereal. His ChatGPT-powered tool came up with the packaging: a cardboard obelisk, four times as tall as it was wide, with a picture of what might have been a passion fruit tumbling down a cascade of liquid. If I had to guess what was in such a box, I would guess printer cartridges or chardonnay. The AI had also written some copy. “Are you tired of starting your day with a bland and boring breakfast? Look no further than PureCrunch Naturals.” With a few more clicks, the man showed how the right combination of generative AI tools can, like a fungus, spawn infinite assets: long-form articles, video spots, and social media posts, all translated into multiple languages. “We are moving,” he said, “into a hyperabundance decade.”

Submitted via Google Form:
What would incentive a city to completely redesign their whole city and make all similar use buildings with the same layout and connect all the buildings together. What I mean by similar use is office buildings vs residental buildings vs public buildings. Of course individuals owning specific units/floors can do whatever contruction they want. I'm talking about something the size of Manhattan. Could they possibly do it in sections? Especially since people are living and working there. Start with new land taken from reclamation or the wilderness? Perhaps it would take 100 years from the first new building to the very last one? Then there's the problem of perhaps historical buildings - perhaps those might be exceptions that won't get connected? Or what happens if for whatever reason the project just stops half way. I mean 100 years is a whole long time. Governments that allowed it back then could totally have changed.
Utuabzu: You should look into Kowloon Walled City. While it no longer exists, and was vastly smaller, it was probably the nearest equivalent to what you want here. But something that should be obvious from even a brief skim of wikipedia is that Kowloon Walled City developed the way it did because of some specific circumstances. It was without any formal government and thus acted as a refuge for displaced people from China and various criminals and social outcasts from Hong Kong, and its physical area was firmly constrained, forcing any new construction to be inwards and upwards, rather than outwards. You should consider why your community is being built like this. Is their physical area constrained by geography or politics? Is there some cultural reason?
Another thing you should consider is the psychological and social impact that a monotonous urban environment will have on the people living in it. There's a reason everyone hates the repetitive grey concrete blocks that were built in postwar Eastern Europe and as public housing in much of the west. They lack any visual interest, and this has negative psychological effects on the people living in and around them, and the uniformity makes it difficult for people to form any sort of attachment to the space. Which is a major reason why these buildings tend to look so dingy now. Nobody gives enough of a damn to clean or maintain them.
Conversely, add a bit of visual interest via ornamentation and a more human scale, and people start to like the place, and are more likely to care for it. Look at the historic cores of older cities across the world, and the amount of effort and resources people are willing to expend to maintain them. People like pretty things and pretty places, especially ones that feel distinct. They help to form local identities - we are people from this place - which help to create a sense of community and shared responsibility for them.
Now, if you want a dingy dystopian megacity, look to big public housing projects from the 50s to about the 80s or 90s in the US and Western Europe, and cheaply built Soviet apartments, and sprinkle in some Kowloon for flavour. You can make a place pretty believably unpleasant by looking at real world examples. But if you want this to be a pleasant place, you need to consider the way the built environment is going to make people feel.
Feral: In addition Utuabzu’s examples, I would look to the Boulevards of Paris, which include construction across regime changes.
I’d also like to point out, if it’s not on your mind already for this world, but an official “state architecture” is heavily associated with fascism and other forms of totalitarianism. Back in 2020, there was a huge kerfuffle in the American architectural world when Trump signed an Executive Order limiting the styles of architecture federal buildings were allowed to be constructed in with for this very reason.

capital worlds of the solar federation
Earth:
The ancestral homeworld of humanity is now becoming slowly overshadowed by human colonies on other worlds, the biggest of these being Sirius. Often called the new earth, most of earths wildlife and nature was transported to sirius as earths collapsing ecosystem threatens to cause a mass extinction of animal life.
Despite this, earth is still home to 150 billion humans and other species and holds important cultural sites. From the most ancient of ruins to the first megacity constructed in japan.
Most life on the planet is concentrated in these megacitys, with anything outside them considered uninhabitable. The abandoned ancient cities here have been overtaken by nature, and becoming home to gangs of looters scavenging anything left behind.
Earth is considered a very expensive world to life on, despite the standard of living for 99% of the population being far below that of human colonies across space.
The Richest of the population live in skyscrapers above the clouds, or floating cities in orbit. The air and rain in many of the megacitys is somewhat toxic, to be largely indoors. Parks are build to simulate the outside, and a artificial sky at least gives the illusion of a clear sky.
80% of wildlife has gone extinct, with the remaining few being transported to sirius.
Scientists have luckily managed to bring most animal species back from extinction trough cloning, however some are sadly lost forever.
However in recent years, thanks to the help of therian terraforming technology, a massive ecological restoration project has begun thats estimated to have restored earth by the year of 2850. So many hold hope that even in her rough condition, the homeworld of humankind can be saved.
Due to climate change, the average temperature of earth is around 19°c, wich caused mass flooding and eventually ecological disaster. The planet has 24 hour days with 365 days in a year.
Silakare:
The new homeworld of the Therians, silakare is a beautiful world of lush purple plant lifes and shallow warm oceans.
The world's surface is uninhabited, as the avian therians life in floating cities kilometres above the ground.
Silakut was the original homeworld, wich was destroyed by a supernova that was scientifically impossible and is still not understood. Silakare was once a dead moon with a barley existing atmosphere, but thanks to therians advanced technology they managed to turn it into the paradise it is today.
Animals from their old homeworld were genetically modified to life on the terraformed world, wich was transformed to resemble their old home as closely as possible.
Since then, the floating cities of silakare have become the official capital of the solar federation, with the largest of the cities being Orlos. Wich boasts a population of 240 billion and has a reputation for being a melting pot of cultures from all member species of the federation.
Silakare is relatively cold despite its tropical appearance, with temperatures around 9 degrees most of the year. A day has 32 hours with 409 days in a year.
Zadrik:
Homeworld of the Ilgorans. Its the smallest of the capital worlds, around the size of mars.
Its surface is covered in the ilgorans iconic city trees, enormous tree like plants specalized to grow into massive towers and house thousands of ilgorans.
In many ways zadrik is a lot like earth before the ecological collapse of the 25th century, with lush forests of red plants and the chirping of the slugbirds in their canopies.
Like the ilgorans, most life on zadrik is comparable to molluscoids. Most have a hard shell of sorts and posses a soft inside with hermaphroditic reproductive organs.
The planet itself is actually a moon orbiting the gas giant of Zuldrun, wich is often seen as the shell of a deity in ilgoran religions.
Zadrik is moderately warmer than earth at 31 degrees, with 19 hour days and 290 days in a year.
Thaul:
Home of the Vardee, and the biggest known habitable world in explored space.
This size is likely due to not being formed naturally, instead being artificially constructed 300 million years ago. The core is theorized to have been a smaller moon of planet that was artificially turned into a planetary core. Massive towers hundred of kilometers wide run from the surface to the core, likely as some sort of maintenance system.
Underneath the surface are tunnels that run underneath entire continents, and go even deeper into unexplored areas of the planet.
The vardee and many other animals of thaul likely descend from pets that these ancient “architects” kept.
This is evidenced my murals that depict these architects and being that looks strikingly similar to a lot of lifeforms inhabiting thauls oceans and continents. The architects themselves seem to have been somewhat humanoid, or at least bipedal. Sadly most murals are extremely eroded and damaged, making it hard to make out details.
Vardee build their cities in the massive towers that run to the core, wich are large enough for each tower to act as its own nation.
Most of the towers have only the first few hundred floors explored, many of wich have been flooded or house entire ecosystems of subterranean lifeforms. The deepest any explores got was floor 450 In the tower city of zulkran which is also the planetary capital. The bottom most layers were filled with overgrown ruins of buildings, home to entirely unknown blind animals. After DNA testing, it was revealed that these were actually the closest living relatives of the Vardee, with a 97% match.
The vardee rarely travel outside of the massive tower cities, meaning large portions of thaul are mostly uninhabited and wilderness. They take great care and pride in this wilderness, it even being a afterlife in some believes.
The average temperature of thaul is 16°c. Days are 30 hours long and a year lasting for 490 days.
Lirthak:
Home to the Olorans, and the most unique of the planetary capitals.
The planet itself looks like a barren rock from the surface, however underneath is a expansive cave system large enough to house forests, oceans and steppes of bioluminescent grass.
Olorans evolved in these steppes as lirthaks equivalent to herd animals, eating the blue glowing grass with their prehensile and dexterous tongues. This combined with having to find strategies to outsmart predators aswell as remembering the layouts of the cave system lead to the olorans extreme intelligence.
Over time they developed an advanced civilization with technological wonders rivalling the therians. With the cities becoming overcrowded however, they sought to see whats outside of the cave systems. They were aware that there was something outside of it, but this was only realy discover relatively recently thanks to modern technology. Problem was, there were only a few dozen exits out of the cave systems, and these lead to the uninhabitable surface of their homeworld.
So the top scientists and engineers got together to build massive domes on the surface, wich were then artificially filled with ecosystems and cities.
After this, oloran civilization was never the same. Soon after they constructed their first off world colonies, and travelled outside of their home system.
With the megacorporations that rule oloran civilization needing space for their manufacturing and housing the population of the overcrowded cities, two rings were build using material from lirthaks 2 moons. The olorans had no sentimental attachment to the moons due to not even knowing about their existence only decades before, and being as pragmatic as they are simply saw them as unused construction material orbiting their homeworld.
These rings now house everything from entire sectors of industry, housing, city sized malls, megacomputers, farming sectors and even artificially created beach resorts for tourists.
Lirthak and its two rings now have the largest population of any planet in the galaxy, with a grand total of 990 billion people calling it home. Its predicted to reach 1 trillion inhabitants by 2790.
The cave systems of lirthak are very cold due to not having sunlight, with average temperatures around -30°c. The rings are kept at around 20°c. A Lirthak day is 15 hours with 270 days in a year.

CyberGwen: Midnight Drive
Ship: Miles/Gwen Summary: Gwen and Miles enjoy a quiet drive after the raid in "Jumpoff Point".
=/=
2.1: "Midnight Drive"
The first sweep had taken even longer than expected, and they were both dead tired when they piled into the car.
Over a century ago, the City of New York had rammed massive elevated highways through every part of the growing megacity in an orgy of destruction - a process that had only been halted by the rail-oriented political machine of the Rapid Transit Development Corporation, which instead had carved a dozen new subway lines (and miscellaneous satellite cities) across the metropolitan area, filled in half the East River and a third of the Hudson, and extended Manhattan all the way past Governor’s Island in a bout of real estate megalomania that had yet to abate.
For her part, Gwen was quite happy that the City had overcome opposition and forced a highway through the lush greenery of Latourette Park all those years ago, giving their black government SUV a straight shot to Brooklyn.
They turned onto the big road-and-rail suspension bridge over the Narrows, and Gwen stole glances at her partner, silhouetted… attractively… against the glittering supertalls of the LoLo Manhattan Reclamation.
Miles tugged at his collar. “What?”
“Just admiring the view.” Gwen smiled.
“Oh.” Miles tried to return her smile.
They slid into the monolithic podium of the big RTDC housing estate, and made their way up to Miles’ apartment, perched high above the Urban Renewal Authority brownfields of the South Brooklyn redevelopment project.
True to his word, Miles set up the bed while Gwen enjoyed a luxuriant shower, and she collapsed into it without a thought.
=/=
Author's note: Still grappling with voice and characterization, and figuring out how to weave Miles, Gwen, and the themes and aesthetics of spiderverse into a compelling fic.

Mini-Essay: Without Light
WARNING: Discussions of dystopia, gore and cannibalism.
One of the good things about having a wide taste in media is how you can run into the oddest comparisons that still have value.
One of those is between the Project Moon games and Werewolf the Apocalypse 5th ed.
I know I have been focusing on W5 a lot this week, but the way it has messed up is something epic.
To explain to those who haven't played Project Moon games, they are set in a megacity surrounded by hostile wastelands. However, what goes in within the city's walls might be much worse than anything in the outskirts. The city is one of the absolutely worst places in fiction I know, and I know my Warhammer 40k. Cannibalism is so common the chefs have the choice of suppliers, barely human monsters roam the Backstreets to use their victims in various ways including as fabric (yes, FABRIC, not leather) and mega-corps and organized crime force citizens into bloody acts of desperation.
There is deep and profound despair in these games as the characters try to survive in this hostile world with their sanity mostly intact. Often being the greatest danger to each other due to their traumas.
In Werewolf the Apocalypse 5th edition, the Apocalypse is happening, the nation of werewolves has splintered and young werewolves try to hold onto something as they deal with millennia of wrongs their ancestors have committed. The old werewolves say the Wyrm, a force of entropy has gone mad and has been the main foe of the werewolves for as long as anyone can remember. What isn't helping these lost werewolves is that two tribes of their Nation have completely left even the scraps of society they have left. Cult of Fenris to fight the Wyrm at any cost and the Stargazers to think on things.
The only thing these young garou can do is to guard a sacred place of nature with their lives and hope to survive to the next day.
The thing that makes the Project Moon universe work where W5 doesn't, is how it approaches its darkness. The city is awful and there is little way to change it for the better. But where W5 spends page upon page decrying the werewolves and how bad they are at their job with very little in the way of solutions, Project Moon games focus on pushing through all that darkness for even a sliver of light.
It is not some power of friendship thing, either. A big part of the game Library of Ruina is to make peace with the wrongs of the past and move onward by letting go of old grudges for your own sake. The characters have done horrible things to each other and letting go is much much MUCH easier said than done, at times even looked down upon. Moving on takes effort from both the characters and the player.
There is hope, as small and fleeting as it may feel at times, but it is there.
Another aspect where Project Moon's world manages better is the way it treats its horrors. World of Darkness 5th edition has gotten a lot of flak from how it treats its horror carelessly and inserts things based on current events when doing so would be tasteless.
In Project Moon games, for one, there is zero sexual violence. The setting manages to be horrible with zero mentions of SA and CSE. In fact, the evil in Project Moon games is banal. It is a job, a way to pay rent, a scholarship, a way to feed the masses and so on. One job literally entails scraping skinned people off walls and turning them back to normal. One way to pay rent is to obey random orders like stabbing the 58th person you meet on the street.
In both cases, the setting is dark and grim but while W5 focuses on the misery without giving the players a chance to affect it, Project Moon games focus on untangling the misery and trying to work out a solution among the horror and carcasses.
In terms of writing, you need hope to showcase the darkness as it is. Without light to shine even a little, you will never get a sense things could be better. This is something Project Moon understands and W5 lost in its translation to WoD5.
