The Polycule

Meghan (she/they) - the primary person running the blog. A queer disabled femme with a hobby of picking up new hobbies. Latest hyperfixations are leatherworking and bookbinding. Other crafts include embroidery, digital art and every cricut craft imaginable. In our cosplay work, their focus is makeup, leather and detail work like embroidery or heat transfer vinyl.

Gabe (they/them) - an adhd nerd that never stops crafting because they always need to be doing at least three things. Their first love is knitting, but they have recently picked up "the devil's craft" (aka crochet). Other crafts include: bookbinding, sewing, embroidery and digital art. In our cosplay work, they are our primary tailor and a wizard with the sewing machine.

Nic (she/they) - a chaotic genderfluid media lover who is the only one who can always find Meghan & Gabe's things. Their primary crafts are junk journaling, gouache painting, and needle felting. In our cosplay work, they primarily handle our wigs and face painting.

Nathaniel (he/him) - the newest crafter in our squad, but our number one fix it guy when it comes to being handy around the house. Those skills have translated well to his newfound love of all things prop making, which is his main contribution to our cosplay work. He also loves photography, and occasionally dabbles in basket weaving.

What's Next?

We're planning to continue work on how tos for the various crafts and cosplay. We also do a lot of design work and we try to add at least one new shirt/merch design a week to our Etsy Shop. If there is interest, we may also start adding cosplay patterns and other digital content so you can craft along with us.

As disabled folks, we want to be as accessible as possible! We try to include image IDs on all our photos. Please let us know if you want us to tag something or if there is anything else we can do to be more accessible!

I was in absolute vibe a few seconds ago go and I love it- I finished eating dinner (it was delish) and it ended nice so I put on my happy playlist with songs I love, have great memories of, and know most lyrics of. And the song “Made you look-Meghan trainor” came on. And I was jamming to the lyrics while heading to my room and the moment I closed the door without even bothering to turn my lights on I danced to the song. It was horrible, but I loved the feeling of dancing to the song because it was absolutely mood boosting; and obviously my ego felt elevated all the way to the sky. Very fun 10/10 experience would do again. I felt so fricking hot and so pretty when the song ended. God I love being with people; but being able to do stuff like this by myself makes me feel so fulfilled somehow.

It might be a bit cringe(not really) but if yall ever want to end a day on a good note that’s how mine has ended and here’s the tutorial.

Step one- Have a nice dinner

Step two- put on a song that you know by heart/ absolutely vibe to.

Step two- turn of the lights if you’re in an enclosed place- get to enclosed space (I.e. your own room a spacious bathroom, anywhere you’re completely alone and away from people’s sight)

Step three- get in the musics vibe close your eyes and just start moving your body to the the rhythm/beat/lyrics of the song. (Bonus points if you act like you’re the lead in a music video)

“My take on the Let's Stay Home pattern...usually, every summer my family takes a big road trip and we collect Christmas ornaments from all the new places we visit. We're not traveling this year, so I stitched this on 28 ct to have it be our new ornament to remember this time!

I also changed the house colors to look like my house, and the cat to look like our neighborhood cat. This was a lot of fun to do!

I had never made an ornament before so I did some Pinteresting first, and ended up following this tutorial.”

Not only did you have to run to the bathroom every twenty minutes or sooner, but your abdominal pain was making it hard for you to concentrate on what was in front of you.

In the end, Seokjin forced you to lie down instead and get some rest.

But he still continued to play on his own.

“These people are so bad, Jagi,” Jin sighed as he once again came in first, “You're the best at Mario Kart, hands down.”

Your eyes were closed, but that made you smile.

At least you were still with him in spirit.

Yoongi was sure that by the time he'd be back, you'd be long asleep, but instead, he found you doing exercises.

In bed.

Staring straight at him when he entered.

“What.. are you doing?”

“My pelvic hurts really bad, so I'm trying these tutorials on how to get rid of the pain.”

“At.. 2AM?”

“What was I supposed to do? The pain is too much to sleep and the painkillers aren't working yet,” Yoongi took off his jacket as he watched you for a moment.

“Is this related to your period again?”

“Wow, we've really been dating for a long time if you can tell I got my period just from the exercises I'm doing.”

He wanted to give himself a pat on the back if it weren't for his worries for you.

“Hey.. what are you doing?” Hoseok woke up when he felt you leave the bed.

“I just need to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back.”

But it wasn't just a once or twice situation, Hoseok woke up again and again because of you leaving, until he finally sat up and turned on the lights when you did it again.

“Okay, talk to me..”

“It's just my period, Hoseok, don't worry about it.”

“I am worrying when you look like this,” he pointed at your face, you desperately trying to hide how bad your cramps were, “Let me get you the hot-water bottle.”

“No, please.. you need to sleep.”

“So do you.”

It's not like he'd take no for an answer anyways. But to be honest, you were glad he didn't, because, despite the pain, you still felt better with him being awake and by your side to care for you.

“I just don't understand why nothing works,” Namjoon was pacing up and down the room, “I tried everything that the article said!”

“It's not your fault, Namjoon,” your eyelids were heavy and your voice barely audible, “It's just the way it is.”

“But it shouldn't be,” your boyfriend sat down on the bed next to you, “I don't like seeing you in pain like this.”

“I know,” you smiled a little and scooted closer to his body, his hand instantly brushing up and down your arm, “I'll be fine again soon.. this just takes some time.”

He just hated being helpless.

Jimin was a horny person.

On more days than he’d like to admit.

But more than once, your period forced him to stay away.

“Really?” he let out a heavy sigh and fell back into the pillows when you had just told him that you were still on your period, “But it's been like.. 9 days.”

“I told you, it's Endometriosis. It's one of the symptoms.”

“Is there nothing you can do?”

“Well.. I've been thinking about switching to the pill for a while, actually. My doctor said it might help. I just didn't want anything to mess with my hormones, but maybe something should mess with my hormones because my period is driving me nuts.”

“Maybe you could go for another consultation, at least.”

And so he switched from the horny, to the caring boyfriend and you and him had an hour-long talk on the pro's and con's of you taking the pill, for you to decide better.

“Hey,” Taehyung opened the bedroom door only ever so slightly, but then quickly closed it behind again when he saw you wince due to the light coming from outside, “Not better yet?”

“No.”

Yeontan let out a huff, then licked your face, before rolling up beside you again to continue with his nap. Taehyung had to leave for practice earlier, but Yeontan had not left your side since then.

“Did you take good care of her?” Taehyung smiled as he sat down on the bed and brushed through his dog's fur, but Yeontan only continued with his nap, completely unbothered by his actual owner, “Do you need me to do anything?”

“You can't, but I appreciate it,” you forced yourself to smile at him, “I'll be okay, Tae. It just takes some time..”

At first he thought being with you might be a good idea, but he knew you needed rest, so he left you alone for the remainder of the day, only to check in with you every now and then to see whether or not you needed anything.

And you were so grateful for it.

jeon jeongguk

Jeongguk had been so excited about this for weeks, you just didn't have it in you to cancel your plans today because of something as trivial as your period.

But see, sometimes a period wasn't just a period. Sometimes a period brought the kind of pain with it that made you cry and nearly rip out your hair from the way it hurt.

And today was that kind of day.

“You ready?” Jeongguk had let himself into your apartment, was practically bouncing up and down, but instead of finding you all ready to leave, he found you curled up on the couch, the blanket so high that it covered half of your face, “Hey.. what's wrong?”

“I don't think I can go,” and when you started crying, you didn't know whether it was the pain, the emotions, or hating to disappoint him.

However, instead of being angry, Jeongguk instantly took off his jacket and sat down next to you, brushing your hair back, “Talk to me.. what's going on?”

And so instead of going to the amusement park, he stayed at your apartment, your head in his lap and his fingers running through your hair while his voice was lulling you to sleep.

You could always go to the amusement park another time. That'd just be something he could look forward to!

I noticed some anons on this blog and on others detailing how they thought meghan’s hair was a bit gaudy and over the top, so I have to ask you and your followers this question. Sorry if it’s really off topic but I’d really like your and your followers opinions on this.

I have long hair, down past my waist and halfway down my bottom (I’m 5’9). Is such long hair trashy? It’s all real and I’ve been putting off a haircut because I’ve been shielding due to the multiple UK lockdowns. It’s incredibly long, and if I bend my back and head it touches my legs. Its not perfect, I never blow dry, straighten or curl it so it’s sometimes very frizzy on the top and near the sides of my head, most often on the day I wash it, which is a pain since I wash it every other day, I do have nice curls though. I keep thinking other people are going to think it’s trashy, gaudy or attention seeking. What do you think I should do with it?

My hair is much frizzier though (only on the top thank god!), and I have to constantly tame it with a bristle brush along the top and sides to keep the new shorter hairs from frizzing out.

LOL, my lockdown hair is really long too. I bet your hair looks a lot more natural than Meghan’s. It actually sounds lovely. Just take care of it and put it up in a chignon when you have a professional or formal event. You can find tons of tutorials on YouTube. 

You can look classy and/or professional with long hair.
