You may be wondering why Dabi is a bass player in the Goth Band AU instead of the position many band AUs put him in (lead guitarist).

1) I like the sound of bass 🤷

2) Bass is a dominant instrument in gothic rock. While bass is important for all music, it creates the characteristic goth sound and the guitars in goth are more... atmospheric? Like they're distorted and they add something important, but they're not the driving instrument.

Bass is so important for the goth sound that I imagine when he and Tomura started League in high school, it was just Dabi on bass and Tomura on drums and vocals at first.

Live-in Boyfriend! Dabi/Touya who is highly curious about your self-care routine. The creams, the scrubs, the tools, the processes, and all the smells that permeate the house when you’re having yourself a spa day in your shared space. He would watch when you brought out that awful looking metal thing you used to get rid of any zits you’d have and look on in awe/disgust of the stuff that came out of your face. He watched as you washed your face with this herby smelling green goo and then roll this pink stone (he thinks it might be rose quartz? He remembers you saying it was rose quartz) thing over your face and how it seemed to soothe your previously swollen skin. He would join you in your “bath nights” You and him would shower, clean the tub, and fill it up with hot ass water, sprinkle some stuff in it that makes it smell like lavender and lemon, and he’d sit with you in the tub and was fascinated by the fizzy thing moving on top of the water leaving rainbows and glitter in its wake. He’d watch you do all this, interested by all of it but unless it was the bath, never participated in it. Why should he? His skin was, uh less than perfect he would say. He wasn’t worried about a zit when his face was 70% burned. He liked the shampoo you used but didn’t think it mattered about what he used, as long as it washed out some of the ash in his hair, he wasn’t worried about it. He didn’t think self-care was for someone like him, someone who didn’t care about themselves. But you noticed every time he watched you exfoliate, lotion, cleanse, shampoo, and wash yourself with all your products. He looked like he wanted to join. You knew he didn’t know who to ask for the things he wanted. So, you have him join you. On one of your spa nights you call for him from you guys bathroom. He walks in the bathroom to see two fluffy head bands with a huge bow on them. “This one’s for you, and this is mine!” He looks confused but lets you put on the Hello Kitty head band anyway. You wash his face, teach him how to apply a mask, watch and advise him as he exfoliates his face and you give him his own rose quartz face roller that he’s definitely obsessed with once he uses it. After a long and relaxing shower, you and him put on some eye masks while you drink some fruity water and watch some Twitch streams. Dabi feels, good. He feels clean, he feels taken care of. He’s happy, he smells like mangos and guavas, his skin feels soft and jiggly like a pudding. He likes self-care and he’s happy that you’re the only who showed him that he’s worth it.

These are just random head cannons I've had for the boys (Dabi and Shigaraki), so here we go!

Dabi:

He only takes showers once a week, and doesn't wash his hair every time, either.

Doesn't wash his feet, the dogs are probably growing some kind of fungus.

Thought about joining the military before thinking about villainy.

He's more of a dog person than a cat person.

Probably was a drug dealer.

Has an IQ lower than a high school junior (grade 11)

Attends churches, synagogues and mosques even though he's not religious.

He's a big metalhead and always listens to a band in his earbuds. Always on full volume, too.

His vision is shit, most definitely farsighted.

If he didn't become a villain, he'd either work in an animal shelter, tattoo parlor or piercing shop.

He's a big meat eater, and his favorite meats are beef and pork.

Shigaraki:

He doesn't shower. Like, at all. Maybe once a month when the league starts complaining about how he smells. Even after his upgrade, he still doesn't shower. That liquid in his capsule thing (idk what its called) was probably the only thing keeping him clean.

He's not a dog person or a cat person, he's a rodent person.

Really wanted a chinchilla when he was younger.

Probably is neurodivergent but never has been diagnosed with something.

Maybe ADD, but not ADHD.

Is also a metalhead but most likely into nu metal.

His favorite band is slipknot.

He's not against religion, but is annoyed by it.

If he wasn't a villain, he'd either be an artist, twitch streamer or run his own jewelry business.

He's surprisingly good with kids. Like small children. Probably cause he acts like them.

(summary) | dabihawks, todoroki family, seroroki, kiribaku, aizawa & class of 1a, all might, league of villains

_______ DAY 8 _______

It is the day of his court hearing that Todoroki Touya dies, for the second time.

Keigo hears it live on the television at a nothing diner Eraserhead and All Might had said they would pick him up from. They were going to allow Keigo to sit in the same car as Touya on the way to the courthouse, planning to follow in a separate car. 

“BREAKING NEWS: TODOROKI TOUYA, KNOWN AS ‘DABI’, DIES IN VEHICULAR EXPLOSION WHILE BEING TRANSPORTED TO HIS COURT HEARING!”

The only thing Keigo can hear through the ringing in his ears is the forgotten five-year-old tucked away at the back of his mind screaming, ‘No! No! NO!’

The only thing Keigo could feel through blizzard winds whipping across his soaring wings was the home within his heart Touya had built with scarred preening hands collapsing and compressing until he could no longer breathe. 

And when he gasps to a landing halt, the only thing Keigo can see through thick smoke and scrap metal with his quirk-enhanced vision is the crude and grotesquely torn-off ring finger Keigo had spent countless hours tracing with his lips, imagining how it’d look enclosed by a gold band with, ‘forever,’ engraved inside.

“Touya!”  

He’s pulled back before he can run into the flames. All Might holds Keigo with every ounce of strength he no longer has and Eraserhead is using his quirk to soften sharpened feathers that cut into All Might’s straining arms. They’re both talking, speaking to Keigo, warning him — they won’t stop talking —  

‘Don’t they understand that Touya needs me, that I need to save him?’

It feels like minutes, hours, seconds, days, before red and orange fire is hosed down completely, and there is no trace of Touya’s body.

“But — I don’t…”

A member of the forensic team is bending down to bag Touya’s left ring finger when Keigo faintly realizes he’s stopped struggling against All Might.

The five-year-old child Keigo has hidden for so long comes out, “He’s fireproof?” 

(Keigo is in too much shock to see the look Shouta gives Yagi — the one that says, ‘don’t say a word.’)

“The damage the fire had done to his body activated the chip inside his wrist to explode. He died almost instantly if that eases your pain any,” Eraserhead tells Keigo. 

The world drops below his feet, not in the manner of when Keigo jumps off buildings to welcome blue skies, but in the manner of gravity plummeting those not gifted with flight to splatter them across concrete. 

Keigo pushes All Might off him with a rough shove and flies to his safehouse, to his home — their home.

And he screams.  

Every feather of his wings sharpen and fly out his back. Dozens of paper-thin cuts sting his cheeks, his neck, and cut through the arms and thighs of his flight suit. The shatter of broken pots and pierced glass means nothing to him. The clatter and bang of splintered wood and stabbed walls do not swallow the horrible shriek of his grieving wails. 

He’s dropped to his knees and he’s screaming, his still screaming, and he does not stop until his vocal cords are torn and swollen shut, until the floorboards are pounded through and clutched between a paralyzed stress-grip, until the fibers of his living room rug are stuck wetly to his nose, until the only noise he can hoarse out are the croons Touya had heard only a handful of times in his short, unlived life.

Keigo stays like that for hours, in the fetal position that five-year-old child had learned to be his only comfort in a life like his. He croons to himself the way Touya had loved so much until his body was too tired to do anything else but drift Keigo away to moonlit-metal and blue dreams.

This is my side blog no one knows because I literally never post on here. Anyways here's the first chapter and it might be because I've read it like 5 times already but I hate this with a fierce passion. Like. Anyways, next chapter is Hawks ( because I'm alternating the povs) and it's gonna be ready on Tuesday.

Any ideas and constructive criticism are welcome!

It was late at night and it was dark. A starless sky watched as mere mortals tried and failed to find purpose in life, dying in their never ending search for it. Dabi hummed a soft melody while walking, her hair brushing her burned shoulders ever so lightly. She wore an old black cape that had seen better days, and plain brown shirt and pants. She played mindlessly with the pieces of metal on her face, not only holding her skin together but also adorning her ears and nose.

The town was quiet, most were asleep. Much like Dabis cape, the houses and cabins of wood and stone had seen better. They were dirty and had an abandoned air to them, almost like ghosts were their only inhabitants. The woman could relate to that, she'd always felt very empty, too old, too useless. Unlike her though, the houses, the streets, the village; were all filled with fierce life inside, the dead like outside nothing but a facade to trick strangers.

That became clear once more when Dabi finally decided to end her walk, entering a dark alley. There, a dark door of enchanted wood waited for her. She opened it, the doors handle shining under long fingers. As she stepped inside she was immediately overwhelmed by the amounts of light and noise. The bar roared with vivacity, all kinds of beings drinking and chatting, kissing and fighting even.

They were all citizens of the great kingdom of Akarui, where blood was spilled in the shadows and people were burned at stakes. Not quite people actually, at least not all of them. All mortals perhaps, but all different from each other. For in the world they lived in everyone was different, looked different, behaved differently…

And had unique powers.

Elfs, vampires, dwarfs, fairies. Every kind of magical being you can imagine, all under the rule of one King, and of course the almighty Security Council. Knights and warriors were formed to maintain peace, and to assure the safety of the people. Well, not all people. The loud, weird, "dangerous" ones who were here, never got any protection. Really, as Dabi saw it they rarely got anything at all.

Ignoring all of them as well as the thoughts concerning her old grudge, she went straight to the back. Dabi opened a little hidden curtain, and a long corridor waited for her. She walked to the last door, and kicked it three times. A blue face opened it, eyes filled with rage.

"Fucking shit, you're late!"

"No shit, bitch"

She entered the room without ceremony, throwing herself in her own bed. Her roommate, Shigaraki, looked at her like she had just killed his puppy.

"We have a band to commit to! You can't just do whatever you want!"

"Actually the last time I checked I was my own person who can do whatever the fuck she wants."

"You're insufferable"

"You're an ass"

"Well, you are-"

"Dabi!" The door that connected their room to the other one opened with a loud noise and a girl with blond hair and sharp fangs threw herself into Dabis arms.

"Hey kid" She got up, Toga still clinging to her. "How was your day ?"

"It was awesome! Twice taught me how to make pie and big sister Magne is teaching me archery!"

"Nice."

Dabi was a woman of few words, yet, that didn't seem to diminish Toga's excitement in the least.

"Can we focus on what's important here ? We have a show guys!"

"Is shigaraki whining about us being late to the show again ? Cause' I don't really think the customers are gonna care. They're pretty drunk, you know. Oh, hey Dabi." Compress was standing in the doorway, and she could see Magne and Twice behind him. "How'd your walk around town go ?

"Went well. Nothing much. Nothing new."

The man nodded. He was tall, sun kissed skin under orange clothes and a black mask he never took off.

"Hey-o you guys! Shigarakis kind of right! We better get going!" A tall man with a another black mask and an energy Dabi didn't know how he had, Twice loomed over Compress, wearing all black and gray, though she could see some of his blonde hair shaping the mask.

"Someone's here gotta have a half a brain enough to listen to me." Shigaraki murmured under his breath.

Dabi rolled her eyes but didn't ague. They did need the money from tonight's gig. A couple more days and they would have enough to go to the next town. The owners husband had been kind enough to let them stay here, after all.

As they headed to the stage, Shigaraki and Spinner tuning their guitars while Himiko sat by the piano, Dabi thought she would miss this place. They'd been there for nearly a month, playing in every bar and every party that would have them. It was a small town in the countryside of the kingdom. But unlike others, it was a refuge for outcasts. You could find every kind of being there, from mages to vampires; from nymphs to elves. Rumor had it the town was protected by one of Akaruis most powerful crime families, and so no bigoted people dared to attack it. It was nice.

The woman had many reasons to want to be in monster town, away from the spotlights of the capital. A cold breeze came in through an open window, and with her eyes closed, letting darkness and coldness embrace her, she stepped onto the stage.

The little crowd erupted in applause when the song ended. They'd been there for three hours already, in not so long dawn would be coming, and they were all tired as fuck.

The bartender paid them what the owner owed, not much, but enough. It had to be.

Dabi went back to the room she shared with Shigaraki, while Toga, Twice and Magne went to the room next door, and Compress and Spinner to theirs.

"Holy fuck I think I'm gonna die of thirst." The woman threw herself on the floor, but trying to out dramatic Tomura was never worth it. Motherfucker was a class A drama king.

"Not if I die first" He hit his head against a wall, got a bottle she knew he'd been hiding from everyone in his dirty clothes; and half stumbling, fell, lying next to her.

"Wanna cure your thirst ?" He waved the bottle in her direction.

She gpt it from his hand, laughing. She would feel more thrifty afterwards, her throat hurting even more, her lips even drier; she knew it. But hell if she cared.

"So you're saying Himiko's new hobby is… writing ?"

"Writing love stories, shiggy."

"Don't fucking call me that. So she was talking to Spinner and Compress, and ?"

"And she wanted to know how to write a… spicy scene with an elf."

"Why the fuck, an elf ?!"

"I think she's writing about her crushes." Dabi took another sip. "Do you remember that dancer who was said to have performed at the princes birthday? She said she can tell he's hot from a painting she saw. So she's writing about that."

"OK but what do they have to do with that ?"

"Well she approached Compress and my man Spinny and told them about her story. And the… and then…" Dabi was already bending in laughter from remembering the man's faces when they'd told her "Then Toga asked Spinner if he'd ever had a lover who was an elf. She asked for details Shiggy. Can you imagine their faces ?"

"Elfs suck" Shigaraki was smiling but seemed to be feeling bittersweet about the story.

"Yeah, kinda. They're hot thou."

Shigaraki made a disagreeing noise, but didn't answer. He looked lost in thought.

At times like this, Dabis thoughts could run free through her mind. The memories she kept in a small locked chest when she was sober, came to her like an ocean wave. But she didn't care. Couldn't bring herself to. For once those tiny, happy children in her memory were distant, not her, not her siblings, but something else entirely.

Shigaraki was looking at the ceiling next to her, clearly almost asleep. She could hear Magnes and Compress snoring. They would have to leave, sure, and she liked the little town of outcasts but as long as she had these freaks with her she'd be ok. No one else was looking after them, no one else would. Tomura was like a brother ( a bratty, annoying, one, but still), they had met ten long year ago, and build something on friendship, music and friendly fighting. Something she wouldn't trade for the world.

Yeah, Dabi had a brother.

I've had this Battle of The Bands AU for BNHA stuck in my head for YEARS and I have never written anything for it. I have playlists for it, but that's it.

Basically it would be a metal band AU for the Leage of Villians and some of the characters from 1A (Bakugou, Kirishima, Todoroki, Deku, Denki, and Jiro).

Dabi would be the frontman for League of Villains. For the 1A band, I know Baku would be on drums, but I want him to be a vocalist so bad 😭 maybe he'd do back up vocals too while on drums like the drummer from Chelsea Grins?

Dabi's vocals would be similar to Sleep Token I think. Probably some Korn too.

The 1A band would be inspired by The Royal, I Prevail, Dance Gavin Dance, Periphery, and some blessthefall, some Veil of Maya too.

One day I'll write it. Maybe.

Bro I don’t think you have rockstar dabi having his scars? I don’t remember im not the brightest but I feel like if he does he’s uses his tattoos to cover up most of the burn marks. A little Drabble that makes me think of his look on his burns and why he gets them covered

He gets them cover not because he thinks it’s ugly it’s just to not remind him of his pass. That he can somewhat rewrite his pass and hide the old him. Almost like he’s burying his pass self.

The ones he didn’t cover Is the ones that still have to be treated and have to have medication still on it because the skin is tender and still really painful. He probably wears compression sleeves and things under tanks or baggy T’s and his fans and media thinks it’s a style and do it too but really it’s just to help his burns.

You’re the only one who truly knows about his burns. That it happened because of his dad, that it’s something he has to deal with for the rest of his life and that even tho he has this tough personality his actual skin is actually really delicate and scarred so badly. No one knows he has “bad days” the band just thinks he’s wasted, hung over, or on drugs but really he’s In a lot of pain from the burns. His body aches so deeply it makes him want to rip his skin off and he has very bad phantom pains in the parts that are healed. Those are the days he desperately NEEDS you. He NEEDS you to dab a cool rag on his sweating forehead, he NEEDS you to rub lotion, oil, and medication into his healing skin, he NEEDS you to talk softly to him and tell him he’s okay and he can get through this and he’s so strong and brave and that no one will nor can hurt him anymore. He gets sick and high fevers so easily which causes the aches to be so much worse.

Sometimes you wish you could just go back in time and save him. Save him like no one else would, save him from his parents, save him from his ego, save him from himself but you can’t. All you can do is love him now and there’s nothing more in this world he would want more. He isn’t someone who commits but I can see him wanting to propose to you. Maybe not even ever get married but just to see you wear his ring.

AHHH I just wanted to gush over him he reminds me over 90s to early 2000s metal bands like korn or deftones.

Damn, nonny. This is amazing! Now I kinda wish i had written Rockstar Dabi with scars 😫

the band is labeled as “alternative” because, although tenko is the lead singer and creator of the band, all of them write songs together and/or write and sing their own. (tenko, touya and toga are usually the only writers and singers tho) they all have different genres and styles; tomura: goth, dabi: punk/metal, toga: electro pop/hard mellow rock.

and yes it’s because they would fight at the beginning. but also because tenko wants them to have creative freedom.
