The Other COD Operators's Scents in an A/B/O AU: Depending on Presentation
Following up on this post of mine:
As a reminder, these two posts follow a theory of mine that:
Alphas smell so strong and overpowering, bordering on just smelling Bad™️;
Betas smell natural and comforting (average, no major complaints);
Omegas smell sickly sweet and so overwhelming it could make someone ill.
Alejandro
Omega Alejandro smells like fresh ripe figs, straight off the tree, juicy and warm.
Beta Alejandro smells like graphite or charcoal. And it's a mix of fresh and a little strong, clears your airways right up type of thing.
Alpha Alejandro smells like creme brulée or, in other words, custard, and burnt sugar/caramel. Especially the BURNT sugar part. (Personal preference. Find that scent too strong).
Rodolfo
Omega Rudy? Brown sugar or just straight up molasses.
Beta Rudy? Orange flower water.
Alpha Rudy smells like Green Olives. (I love Olives, I would lick that man up)
Alex
Omega Alex smells of either brownies or cinnamon rolls.
Beta Alex smells like warm milk and honey, or, in short, any of those Palmolive lotions/body washes that mix Milk + Sweet Fragrance.
Alpha Alex smells like glue/solvant, maybe even acetone or nail polish remover.
Farah
Omega Farah smells of cinnamon. Not cinnamon rolls like Alex. Just cinnamon.
Beta Farah smells like tea leaves, especially the damp ones, fresh off a tea bag or tea steeper.
Alpha Farah smells of a strong flower. Roses or Lillies. So strong and commanding regardless of how flowery it is.
Valeria
Omega Valeria smells like chemicals but not in a bad way. She smells like shampoo and conditioner and all the products used in a hair salon, in the hot air of the hair dryers...
Beta Valeria smells of papaya. Fresh fruit, juicy and tasty.
Alpha Valeria smells of tobacco leaves. NOT cigarettes. Just tobacco leaves... which are VERY strong in their natural scent.
Graves
Omega Graves has the most gentle scent of shredded coconut. Especially the kind that's on top of a cake. Sickly sweet and tooth-rotting.
Beta Phillip Graves smells, weirdly enough, like rosemary.
Alpha Graves smells of oil. The car kind. Dark and thick and spreading all over... Basically, he smells like an autorepair shop.

Back at it again!!
2nd part to showing some of my ships, so today its my Kingdom Exclusive ships!! Now some should be more familiar.
Also throwing this out there for honestly no reason, I'm prefectly okay if you ship anything different from what I show here. These are all MY ships. If you ship something else, as long as its not-toxic and not Proship, I'm bound to be okay with it.
With that in mind, let's go.
Polychampions: Even after their event, I can't help but love this trio!! Their dynamic is so funny. I can imagine their hugging sessions are the best, especially with Capsaicin being there. They all keep an eye of each other, even dealing with their own issues.
CaviOyster: My most written about ship!! Sea cookies got to stick together, after all!! It tickles me that it was these two who stood up to Custard and the others about the treatment of the Creme Republic. They're Clotted Cream's uncle and aunt figures.
DarkCherryWolf: I couldn't decide werether I liked Darkwolf or Cherrywolf more, so I slapped them together. I imagine Choco already knew of Werewolf even when he left the COD, so they started to hang out more. Then later Choco was introduced to Blossom. Shenangians happen and now, they're all dating. and thanks to the idea @analogical-spacegays gave me, they are all now parents to the squirrel trio Roll Cake, Pancake , and Pinecone.
PureHolly: A comfort ship of mine. Loving parents of Royalberry even the two are in separated kingdoms. PV feels awful about all the hardships Holly went after his sacrifice, and constantly does his best to be there for her. Everytime they meet up, Holly engulfs the shorter man in a big hug. PV doesnt have the heart to stop her, plus he enjoys it,
AlmondLatte: A classic, but a good one, Their banter during the Light the Beacons story is so funny. I love the found family potential between them, plus Walnut and Creampuff. Latte would be a loving stepmom to Walnut.
ClottedClover: A rarepair!! Noble x Fairy/Elf vibes. With the idea of Clover being White Lily's son, that's going to be an AWKWARD reveal. Its a secret relationship the Consul is hiding from his father. Clover often would send Clotted songs he's written for him or 4-leaf clovers on his travels. One day, Clotted wishes to accompany.
RaspRye: This comes from me rewatching the scenes of Jedidiah and Octavius from all 3 Night at the Museum movies ( I know I'm old) and imagining them as these two. It works. Rye is always on the move from bounty hunting, so she's always stopping by House Raspberry to pay Raspberry a visit.
MalaFrost: Hot and cold gfs!! They give me SU Ruby and Sapphire vibes. How they meet is where Mala was given a dare to survive in the coldest region for the week (as you do), and was found by Frost Queen after Mala almost frioze to death. Of course Forst took care of her and restored her to full health, bue expected her to leave due cookies usually being scared by her and her powers. Istead , Mala stuck around and tries to court her, without much avail. One day, Frost decides to take up her offer. In short, Frost fell HARD in love at Mala's silliness and her good heart, along with impressed how well she was as a chieftain. They've been dating ever since.
WildChip: Last, but definitely not least, these two dorks. I know a lot of WildChip lovers can understand why I love this ship. Also, their bond also reminds me of Patroclus and Achilles from Greek mythology. I know they got their other's back, even when in danger.
That's all 9!! My next one will be mwcrossover ships, as I ship two characters One from Ovenbreak, and One from Kingdom. It might be a bit shorter than this, but we'll how it goes.
Hope you enjoyed!!

Past the Facade- Kuroko love letter commission
A/N: This is a love letter comm for the lovely @crowned-peony a mix of steamy and fluff
CW: Fem reader, mentions of future children, fluff, nsfw, reader likes creme brulee
I’m not someone who expresses myself well. That doesn’t seem to matter to you. You always seem to see past the deadpan looks and robotic voice. You always notice the me inside, the me who loves you.
---
To my little bunny,
I don’t know when it happened. I don’t know when I noticed you as more than the girl in the corner of my college class who likes to color when the teacher is droning on about things, we already learned last week. You are someone smart, someone who panics easily, someone who likes coffee and sweets, and I just couldn’t say when I started noticing all these little details about you.
Is it when you offered me your extra eraser with that gentle and understanding smile. Or is it when you were walking past me ordering in the cafeteria and realized I was a dollar short and offered to pay it despite my constant denial. I couldn’t talk you out of it, you were more stubborn than I realized. I started to take you in after all these little moments happened, I started to notice you more. I also started to notice that despite you isolating yourself from others on purpose, you still did what you could to help them when they needed. You also almost never accepted help from them, merely smiling and saying, ‘you caring enough to help is all I need.’
I honestly couldn’t tell if what you said was a cop out to make others feel better or not, it took me watching you a full four months to realize you really believed it. You didn’t need others to spoil you, to pay for things. You just needed to know that you were cared about.
That was what your entire body craved. I learned it firsthand very quickly. I’d brought you something in exchange for a water you’d brought me when I was dehydrated after basketball practice. Something that made your eyes widen and confusion glistened in them.
I held out the ceramic container with a smile that barely twitched my lips, “I obviously need the bowl back but… this is yours. I saw you order it at the café once with such excitement. You were talking about how they should make it a regular menu item. Is crème brule one of your favorite desserts?”
You laughed and nodded, “Did you make this?”
“What gave it away?” I tilted my head curiously at the small ramekin as you ate a second spoonful.
“The eggs in the custard are slightly curdled,” you smiled widely as if it wasn’t a flaw. “Thank you so much.”
It was with that smile I knew I wanted you. I wanted to date you, I wanted to love you, and I wanted you to love me. I wanted to spoil you, I wanted to give you everything you could ever need, ever desire. I stroked the back of your hand, and you looked up at me in surprise and the glisten of the sugar crust caught the light as a few shard stuck to your lip. But before you could lick them clean, I leaned forward slowly. You didn’t stop me and so I decided that was your consent.
The kiss was soft but anything from innocent as I lapped away the sweetness clinging to your flesh. When I pulled back your eyes seemed even bigger, filled with surprise and embarrassment.
“Will you be mine?” I asked, uncertain how to voice my feelings correctly.
The desire to have you was stronger than just dating. It was more than just having you as a partner.
You swallowed and there was a few lingering seconds where things seemed stifled, too heavy for me to breathe as you seemed to weigh your answer.
“Yes,” you breathed finally.
“Good… bunny,” I whispered and dipped to kiss you again.
That was how we found ourselves here, months later, tangled in the sheets. How we found ourselves giving parts to each other that no one else deserved. It was also how I learned how much I needed you, how much I wanted you and how what I thought was strong before couldn’t hold a candle to how I felt now. After acquiring so much knowledge about you for so long, after holding back my growing desires until finally the chains burst under their strength and my façade melted away, I finally had you.
It was the first time I felt so free. The first time I greedily took everything I wanted and shared my emotions unabashed. Moans of pleasure and whispers of your name tumbled from my lips with each thrust forward.
You seemed just as lost to the sensations as I was. Your arms, legs, and entire body enveloped me. You were desperate to bring me even closer. The touch of your flesh was addicting.
I peppered worshipping kisses into your neck, promising you with actions just as much with strained words that I would never leave. I couldn’t now, you had me completely. Emotionally, mentally, and physically, I belonged to you in every way. Slowly you’ve carved out a spot for yourself in my heart and despite the cool head I tried to convey, you stripped it away so easily.
I know now, I knew then, that by your side was where I belonged. I know I will stay next to you until we are ready to slip rings on each other’s fingers and hear the pitter patter of little feet in the early mornings. Until then this is enough, it has to be. I stand next to the box in our new apartment as you ask over your shoulder if I want some snacks as we unpack.
From the person who will always love you, whose learning to show their trueselves
Tetsuya

Character Intro: Eusebeia (Kingdom of Ichor)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nicknames- Mrs. Goody Two-Shoes by Dione
Bea by the others
Age- 33 (immortal)
Location- Ioannina, Olympius
Personality- She's a very conservative pious woman who stands true in her values & beliefs. There's nothing more important to her like the reverance, respect, and prayers to the deities of the pantheon. She's single.
She has the standard abilities of a goddess except shapeshifting. As the goddess of piety, loyalty, duty, & filial respect, her other powers/abilities include being able to manipulate Celestial Bronze, chastity inducement, limited photokinesis, cleanliness inducement, and being able to manipulate the feeling of loyalty in a person & others.
Bea lives in a recently refurbished stone castle in the state of Ioannina. All of the doors are built out of Celestial Bronze. Inside, there's an abundance of silk curtains with the walls painted in cool neutral shades of beige, cream, eggshell, taupe, and powder blue. The interior design is very minimalist & contemporary with many marble, ivory, and stone temple statuettes serve as decorations. Bea has pets like a few cats & dogs as well as a pegasus- a boy named Blanco. He's usually her mode of transportation.
She rarely drinks alcohol though she will indulge herself with a single glass of champagne or white wine every once in a while. Go to drinks for her include coconut water, fruit infused sparkling water, mango juice, & batido de trigo. Her usuals from The Roasted Bean is a large iced green tea and an olympian sized iced vanilla chai tea latte.
Bea's morning routine includes a jog around her neighborhood, a session of tai chi, followed by a steaming hot shower.
She dresses in a conservative fashion style (neutral colors, clothing not too tight, short, or low-cut). She's a fan of minimalist jewelry and soft & subtle make-up. Bea doesn't like high heels for many reasons, the main one being it's impracticality. She won't go higher than kitten heels & she's fond of stylish flats.
Breakfast is her favorite meal of the day. Many of the dishes she makes include scrambled eggs (added with scallions, tomatoes, and onions), ladenia, rizogalo, and a pork-plantain hash (added with spicy sausages).
She goes to church quite often and is a big donator!
Bea dislikes media (art, books, music, television, and movies) that contain an overabundance of explicit material- like coarse language, nudity, & sexual content).
She keeps her nails short, neat, and manicured. She's not opposed to wearing polish, but only in soft colors. She is a fan of Olmorfia's nail polish with her favorite shades being "glacier rose" (a light shimmery iridescent pink), "whipped cashmere" (a soft baby pink), "infinite sun-ner" (a caramel brown), and "mined over matter" (an earthy creamy mauve).
Her favorite dessert is the angel's food cake from Hollyhock's Bakery. She also likes the creme brulee from Aphrodite's patisserie and the frozen vanilla custard from The Frozen Spoon. Bea's also known in the pantheon for her sweet & delicious cucurucho!
Her main job/responsibility is overseeing the construction of all the temples built in the honor of the gods in the pantheon. She also oversees the construction of the country's churches. A notable achievement for Bea was coming up with the layout for Hera's temple that was to be built in Samos. The design included slimmer white columns garlanded with pomegranates & flowers with the walls being carved with images of one of her divine symbols- the peacock. For other work, she writes for O Dianooumenos and Vital Essence magazine. Bea also models for/endorses Glory's Crown (loves the argan oil/biotin repair & restore smoothing shampoo and conditioner), Euryphaessa, White Lily Gallery, Sunshine Radiance (loves the vitamin c brightening peel), Cleanstream, & LipCalm. She also works closely with The Litae.
Bea's personal business is her charity organization called The Pietas Foundation. Other works currently in development is a dating app specifically catered towards celibate & conservative folks with marriage being the goal and a possible tv network focused on faith based, conservative, & family oriented content.
She likes the medianoche sandwich (lightly toasted) from The Bread Box.
A favorite snack of hers are lightly salted plantain chips!
She holds fast in her views and opinions (believing that sex should be between a married couple, heteronormativity, daily prayers & offerings to the gods, etc...). Bea believes in the conservative pious lifestyle with traditional family values. She doesn't disrespect others with "differing lifestyles" & she's always open to having discussions with people who don't share her views.
Her best friend in the entire pantheon is Pistis (goddess of trust, reliability, & good faith). They call each other "sister" and she supported Pistis during the whole drama involving her sister's wedding. Bea's also friends with Eikono (goddess of iconography & literature), Hestia (goddess of the hearth), Aeschyne (goddess of modesty & honor), Themis (Titaness of justice), Eváeros (goddess of air & the zodiacs), Apheleia (goddess of simplicity) Praxidike (goddess of judicial punishment), Soteria (goddess of safety), Eunostos (goddess of the flour mill), Promylaia, Eudaimonia (goddess of happiness), Elpis (goddess of hope), & Peitharchia (goddess of obedience & discipline). She's also suprisingly friends with the twins Penia (goddess of poverty) and Ptocheia (goddess of beggary). She dislikes, but won't openly disrespect Kakia (goddess of vice & moral wrongdoing), Hybris (goddess of insolence, hubris, & reckless pride), Dione, Philotes (goddess of sex, friendship, & affection), and especially Dyssebeia (goddess of ungodliness & impiety)- among others.
A birthday gift from Pistis was a gorgeous jeweled hair clip from Diamond Ave. It cost 2,000 drachmas!
She's celibate (also a virgin) and plans to stay that way until she falls in love and gets married. Bea has her whole wedding planned in her journal! In her journal she also wrote about a time she was tempted to break her promise when she was propositioned by Priapus (god of fertility, vegetable gardens, livestock, sexuality, & masculinity).
In her free time Bea enjoys jogging, swimming, reading (is a fan of literary fiction), knitting, sewing, cooking, yoga, sailing (owns a sailboat), tennis, and pottery.
Some of her favorite dishes include platillo moros y cristiano with bistec de palomolla, ropa vieja, moussaka, dakos, and pastitsio.
"Each step following a vice ultimately leads to damnation."

I imagine that Clotted Cream Cookie is a very manipulating but very charismatic towards the others, especially towards you.
Since he was deemed as the youngest consul in the republic, I think that he'll use his status to win over your potential suitors and for you to become his.
Clotted Cream Cookie isn't the type of cookie who would snatch you away no no, instead he will use his riches to persuade you that he's worthy of your affection and love.
Oysters, sweet tarts and delicacies from the Creme Republic and he'll give you a very precious trinket that reminds him of you; a very beautiful pearl necklace.
His presence and "affection" became so suffocating that your peers would pressure you on accepting his way of courting you.
If you reject all of his gifts and his confession, he'll just smile towards you reply but deep inside, he's really disappointed towards you but don't fret! He'll just work harder for you to accept his love.
Clotted Cream Cookie would show you all of his achievements, even the simplest ones. He would talk about his day, how he'e doing and accompanies you whenever you take a stroll outside.
He confesses to you like 10?? 20 times??? Until you became so angry towards him. Telling him that he became a nuisance and an annoyance in your life.
This made him very upset towards you and when he knew that you'll be staying away from him? Nope, that ain't happening cause he'll just take you right where you stood.
You mean alot to him and there's no way he'll loose you in his life.
He fell deeply in love towards you and wether you like it or not, you will become his.
. ·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .
"I know that our house is quite big but please come out, darling! I didn't mean to scare you like this!" The pitter patter of his shoes resonate from the halls near the pantry closet you chose to hide from him. The area was flimsy and tight, filled with countless items and inhaling it's contents wasn't easy for you. You refuse to sneeze out the speck of flour you inhaled, out of fear that he might find you.
You heard the voices of his servants calling out for you name in an attempt for you to come out from your hiding spot. How long did you fell asleep as soon as you take a bite from that sweet custard he gave you? Hours? Days? Your head was still spinning from the effects from the sleeping powder he used to mix with the tart.
You are indeed scared of him.
"Oh, are we playing hide and seek? Is this why you're hiding from me? You know I used to love this game since I was still a young cookie. Alright, then sweetheart. Ready or not, here I come." Clotted Cream Cookie searched and opened every single door he could find in his huge mansion. Everytime a door produces a loud bang from the impact of the walls make you jump a little as you pressed your back a little more towards the wall of the pantry.
His voice, laced with sugarcoated words, makes your dough crawl as he repeated the same words over and over again.
"Come out, darling. I won't get mad when you come out from your hiding spot. I just want to spend some time with you, my dear!" He spoke in a voice that many of your peers would fell for. You didn't take any of those fake words he spoke towards you, for you only knew that this cookie will literally drag you out from the closet and will keep you locked once again from that luxurious cage he called your bedroom.
You covered your mouth as a way to lessen the breathing sounds you emitted from your mouth and being found by your captor. Silence loomed around each and every corner of the consul's manor, with the exception of the voices of his servants searching for you. You just hoped that they'll simply gave up and if you're lucky enough, you can escape through the window that was left unlocked in the kitchen.
You break out from your thoughts as soon as you heard his expensive shoes walking through the huge kitchen.
Tap...
Tap...
Tap...
"Darling, I know you're here..."
Your body began to shake in fear, trying to control the way you breathe. Sweat began to slide off on the side of your head as the footsteps outside from your hiding spot became closer...and closer...and closer....
Until it stopped right directly in front the pantry, his shadow that looms over his body went through the small gaps of the small pantry.
As soon as you heard the door open, you covered your head with you arms, awaiting for his arms to drag you away from your hiding spot but nothing happened to you. Instead, he opened the cupboards and the storage closet where expensive plates and silverware were stored. "Hmm, it looks like you aren't here. I wonder where you are.." Clotted Cream Cookie then left the kitchen in disappointment.
You slowly sighed in relief, thinking you are safe from him but to both to your shock and surprise, the door from the pantry swung wide open. His shadow looms all over your quivering body as the cold wind of the manor gave your skin goosebumps.
You screamed in fear. Your flight and fight instincts came towards your entire body as soon as you saw him by your two eyes. Getting up from your hiding space as quickly as possible, you tried to run away from him, looking for another hiding spot when his hand took a grasp by your waist and carrying you both of his arms (in bridal style).
He gave you a sickening sweet smile towards you as tears began to slide from your face. "Well hello there, darling! And I hope you enjoyed our little game cause this is only just the beginning of our road to forever..."

Hello and welcome, I don't know if your open but may I please ask for 17 with yandere Azul Ashengrotto
Tumblr media
Yandere Azul Ashengrotto x reader
Warning: Love potion, implied harm to others
You had been seeing Azul Ashengrotto more and more these days.
It was odd.
Sure you weren’t strangers but he just seemed to keep popping up more and more. Typically after class he might just be in the hall walking past you before noticing you were there and saying hello.
Then it got more interactive. He’d take your arm and gently guide you off towards your next class.
You hadn’t even noticed at first when this became ‘a thing’.
 He was just walking and talking with you, sharing hobbies and likes together because well it was nice. Why wouldn’t you engage in a nice, civil, conversation with him? It was only the third time it happened that you realized you hadn’t told him at all which was your next class.
But that was fine right? He’s probably seen you just walk to these classes before. He did always seem to be around when classes end, he used to pass you with a nod and smile or a hello.
You’re just being paranoid. He’s a fine guy.
The twins were showing up more too. On the days where Azul seemed to have a different schedule. They more than easily slid into place with the routine that was forming. Being at your side if Azul wasn’t there holding onto your arm like a gentleman and guiding you through the halls.
When was the last time you walked to class with your friends?
Well, they were your friends too.
Weren’t they?
Jade was the one you talked to the most when they first started popping up. Floyd seemed to always be more at the edge grinning….and yet it felt like he was just a dog waiting for the chain to break. Ready to bite into something.
Or Someone.
Really, when was the last time your friends talked to you even? Even looked at you when you entered classes? Texted?
They were probably just busy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jade offered to help carry your books while Floyd walked in front of you two making a few snickered comments.
“Shriiiiimpy ~ ah- Or should i call you Angelfish now, too?” Floyd had said peering over his shoulder, golden eye shining down at you with his trademark sharp toothed smile.
“Angelfish?” Why would there be a new nickname? You blinked glancing at Jade to see if he had any information.
Same as always just the soft gentlemanly smile of Jade on his face like usual. Though it seemed as if his smile hadn’t carried to his eyes that now bore into Floyd.
“....Ehhh forget it Shirmpy-chan! Shrimpy is soooooooooo much better anyways!” Floyd said turning his head away from his brother.
“Oh, Okay,” You murmur softly, already arriving to your next class. With that Jade handed you your books with a more composed look as he gave a close eyed smile.
“Have a nice class.” Jade said smoothly when making his exit. Leaving you and Floyd standing outside of the doorway to your class.
“Shrimpy~chaaaaaan~ I’ll see you in the monstro lounge, okay~.”
Floyd glancing at you with another snicker and a wink as he bounded off after his twin. You didn’t even get to say your answer about going. You watched Floyd stroll off to find his brother before quickly heading into class.
Why would you be in the monstro lounge?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Barely able to focus on what the teacher was saying as you thought back. You barely had written anything in your notes by the time the bell rang. Did you really space out that whole period? Thinking about the twins and Azul. Was the Monstro lounge even open at this time of day?
Looking at your practically empty notebook you frowned. How disheartening...you didn’t really have any friends in this class.
You didn’t want to just go up to a stranger and ask to copy their notes. What if they didn’t even take notes and you looked foolish? Or maybe they’d just think you were stupid for not being able to pay attention. Maybe you could come back and talk to the teacher later. Saying your notes got destroyed or ruined? No… you shouldn’t do that.
Hopefully today wasn’t that important for notes…
Walking out of the classroom you found Azul waiting for you. You almost didn’t even notice him until he said your name.
Azul had flowers. A red rose bouquet with a shiny black ribbon tied perfectly around it.
“Would you like to accompany me to the Monstro lounge, Angelfish?” He gave a smile as he took your books from you and slid the lovely bouquet in your arms instead. Shuffling the books to one arm to take yours just as he usually did.
Angelfish?
“ Eh? I mean-...okay.” You blinked looking at the arrange in your arms as you walked with Azul, his hold onto your arm just like always. Like a gentleman with his date on his arm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“It’s kind of funny,” You said, glancing up at Azul while you walked down the empty hallway.
“Hm?” He glanced at you, tilting his head, urging you to continue.
“Floyd mentioned the monstro lounge, I just didn't expect an escort” You gave a small laugh.
“Oh. He did?” Azul looked away from you, his tone sounding off. A bit more serious than usual.
 “And here I hoped it’d be a surprise.” He frowned looking at you with soft eyes behind his glasses, seeming almost to pout. It was almost cute the sudden change in not just emotion but atmosphere. The air suddenly seemed so much lighter.
 Were you thinking too much again?
“Well, I mean, you did surprise me. That's for sure. I certainly wouldn’t have expected flowers too.” Such nice roses. The lovely classic red petals. They didn’t even smell like paint like the heartslabyul red roses did.
When was the last time you actually went down there?
Maybe you should visit sometime soon.
“Good, i’m glad that at least gave you a fun surprise!” Azul smiled cheerily at you, his arm moving from holding onto yours to moving across your shoulders and pulling you closer to him as you got to the Monstro lounge. Most of it dimmed instead of brightly lit. A table already made for the two of you with a silver candle lit in the middle. Food freshly laid out as steam wafted off it. Clearly having just been laid out. How odd. Appetizer, main dish, and even dessert was laid out all at once. It’d certainly make it hard to pick just what you ate first.
You glanced down at his arm resting on your shoulder. That was new. You tried to shrug off his arm yet instead his hand gripped on your shoulder. It was actually kind of harsh. You tensed against Azul biting your lower lip. Did he really have to hold so hard onto you? It was getting uncomfortable. It almost felt like it might bruise with the grip he had.
“Well~ If you’d do me the honors of having a nice meal with me?” He said smiling so brightly at you, as if he didn’t have such a tight grip on you while keeping you at his side.
“Ah-”
“Of course I had everything prepared, come now, you’ll simply love it!” He said over you, ushering you to the candle lit table for two.
Azul took the flowers from you after setting your books on an empty table they passed and set the Roses in a vase on the table. Candle light, Roses, food made for the two of you.
You swallowed a lump in your throat as you sat down. Was this a date? It certainly seemed like it. You didn’t even know if you saw Azul like this. Did you want this to be a date? Sitting siffly across from him, not making a move as you looked at the burning candle to have something to focus on asides from Azul.
He sat across from you. A bit too eager, like he was waiting for something.
You looked from the well made table to Azul again.
“It’s-”
“Lovely yes? I did want our first date to be nice.” He blurted out, talking over you.
So this was a date. An impromptu date. Though couldn’t he have just asked? Shouldn’t their first date be maybe around other people? Was he so excited he skipped over steps? That didn’t seem like Azul. Did he really just want a date between you and him without other patrons around?
“Come on now, Try this” Azul suggested, using a spoon to crack the creme brulees caramelized shell ignoring the other food. He seemed to really want to start with dessert it seemed. Maybe he just had a sweet tooth.
Raising his hand with the custard on the spon trying to feed you with a bright smile. The spoon already to your lips as his eyes stared through you. Waiting expectantly.
You paused looking down at the spoon in his grasp to his face almost jumping with the intense stare he was giving you. Hesitating before opening your mouth the spoon quickly making it past your lips.
“Delicious right?” He narrowed his eyes, a gleam of something in his eye as he stared at you.
It was.
Though, was creme brulee this sweet? It had something of a certain aftertaste budding in the back of your throat. You pause when he takes the spoon already trying to feed you another spoonful. More accepting this time around you opened your mouth ready to have another taste.
That aftertaste...What was it?
It wasn’t until the creme brulee was almost gone did you realize that Azul hadn’t even had a bite. Had he only been feeding you this entire time?
“You’re mine, do you understand? You belong to me.” Azul said smoothly tilting his head as he calmly fed you another spoonful. “You won’t have to worry about anything again. I’ll take care of everything.” He sighed happily watching you.
The effects of the love potion were ebbing in.
Your head felt like it was floating. Looking to Azul, why would he say something like that?
Azul was so thoughtful though, wasn’t he?
You worried expression soon going to a soft smile at Azul, tension easily melting from your body. What were you worried about? It was just a date between the two of you. He probably just wanted to focus only on you instead of worrying about customers. Looking at him with shining eyes.
Azul was so sweet. So handsome. So caring.
He really did just want what was best for you.
A present wrapped within several layers of boxes and shiny paper lay just outside the TARDIS doors. The nicest 3D printer one could find and even improved by the person giving the gift. A tag lay on the top. Delicate penmanship strewn across it. “Happy Birthday Koschei.” -T PS: Press the added blue button for chocolate. Added a dispenser. Purple button for custard cremes. Green toggle for a joke. Who doesn’t love a joke?
Tumblr media
  It was Simmy’s regen/birthday on the Twelfth!
Tumblr media
     “Doctor, your idea of a joke is not mine.  I won’t touch this green toggle if you threaten to cut off all my fingers but one.”
Yet there is a worse potentiality: that his inimitable, his wild, his dear and dangerous Theta Sigma, will be sad if he doesn’t play along.
    “Shit,” the Master sighs, and, submitting to his fate, firmly yanks the toggle.
Cooking With The Crazy Viking Lady
OK, so I have been asked in a few messages to compile a master post containing some of my food and recipe content. So this will be it. I will add on as much as I can.
Notes:
Some are gluten free and some are vegetarian/vegan friendly. If they are not, why to try replacing some ingredients? Have fun with your cooking!
Measurements are not always listed, as I tend to cook by taste and smell rather than actual measurements. But in some I’ve tried my best, haha.
These recipes are either of my own creation, or passed down through the generations. Please do not republish without my permission (Reblogging this post is absolutely fine, but copying and claiming is not), or use them for monetary gain by stealing and selling in cookbooks. I am posting these to offer them for people to use in their own lives for their own enjoyment and their families.
Hey doll hey!!! How are you doing today? I woke up not feeling very well today. I feel like I might be coming down with a cold. I have a bad headache, sour stomach, and just all around feel crappy. I got up around 8:30 AM today, I gave myself a extra hour to sleep to see if I could shake this thing off, but that didn’t work. So I decided I would do a fun Spring look to try and shake myself out of the “I’m getting sick” blues. I decided to go with orange colors today….  So let’s jump into the scent and Face of the Day ….
Tumblr media
Rich Delice by Johan B. I purchased this one at a perfume kiosk at my local mall last year for $24 for 2.8 fluid ounces.  I chose this one because it has a spicy orange scent to it (from the bergamot in it). The top notes are: pink pepper, jasmine, frosted cherry,  the middle notes are: bergamot,violet, freesia, amber, and the base notes are: tonka bean, sandalwood and musk. This is a very rich scent with a woody feel to it.
Tumblr media
Base:                                                                                                                                                         I primed my face using I primed my face using It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Primer (Discontinued). For foundation I am using a combo of 2 pumps Catrice Cosmetics Light Correcting Serum Primer ($10.99 at Ulta) in the shade Candlelight, 3 pumps of the Physicians Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer ($14.39 at Walgreens) in the shade Glow, and 4 pumps of Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($43 at Sephora) in the shade Y235 Ivory Beige. I color corrected the inner and outer parts of my under eyes using  Pixi by Petra Correction Concentrate ($12 at Target) in Brightening Peach. I concealed my under eyes using Believe Beauty You’re Covered Liquid Concealer ($4 at Dollar General) in the shade Light Beige. I set my full face using  Believe Beauty Matte Blur Loose Powder ($5 at Dollar General) in the shade Translucent and warmed up my face using Benefite Hoola Bronzer from the Babe on Board Face Palette ($21 on the Beautylish website).
Tumblr media
Eyes:  I primed my lids using NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30 at Sephora) in the shade Medium 1 Custard and set that using RCMA No Color Powder ($15 on the Beautylish website) For today’s eye look I used the ColourPop Whatever Palette ($18 on their website). For my transition shade I used the color Copy Cat (a dusty peach matte). For my crease and outer 1/3 of my mobile lid I used the color Pass It On (a warm terracotta matte). On the remain 2/3 of my mobile lid I used the shade Ditchin’ U (a vibrant terracotta metallic). I then used the shade TTYN (a vibrant burgundy metallic) on the middle 1/3 of the mobile lid to blend the inner and outer 1//3 together.  I set my brows using Maybelline Great Lash Mascara ($6.99 at Ulta but I purchased mine from Amazon) in clear and then filled in my brows using ELF Ultra Precise Brow Pencil ($5 at Ulta and on the ELF website) in the shade Deep Brown and then I carved out my brow line using the BH Studio Pro Brow Highlighter ($5 on their website) on the matte side and set the brow line using L’Oreal Infallible 24-HR Eye Shadow ($5.94 at Walmart) in #899 Endless Pearl (). I used more of the shade Pass It On on my lower lash line and then lined my lower waterlines using The Balm Mr. Write Eyeliner ($13 on their website) in the shade Seymour Datenights (a nude).  I popped on a pair of Ardell lashes ($4 at Ulta) in a style I can’t remember … I just remember that these are Ardell lashes and coated my upper and lower lashes with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara ($8.99 at Ulta).  I then highlighted the inner corners using Urban Decay Single Eye Shadow ($20 at Ulta) in the shade Midnight Cowboy (an icy pink with silver reflect).
Tumblr media
Cheeks and Lips: For my blush and highlighter I used the Benefit Babe on Board Face Palette ($21 on the Beautylish website). My blush is the shade Rockabye (warm rose). I highlighted the tops of my cheeks, bridge of the nose, Cupid’s Bow, and high points of my brows using the shade Dandelion Twinkle (nude pink shimmer). I lined my lips using ColourPop Lippie Pencil (only found in the Lippie Pencil Vault) in the shade Absolute Zero (bright orange) and filled in my lips using ColourPop Lippie Stix ($6 on their website) in the shade Topanga (a dusty coral creme).
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts:                                                                                                                                      I didn’t do a great job on my  makeup today… I’m just feeling horrible.I took some TamiFlu to see if that will help me get this cold gone. I just feel so achy. My brows are looking better today at least (haa haa). My lashes are on their last wear so and I have 3 more that I’m still using up and then I plan to open some new ones. I might even purchase a few new ones from some of the brands I’ve seen on InstaGram.
Tumblr media
Well that’s all for now dolls. I hope you are having a great day/night, that you are not ill, and that you are in good spirits. Remember, Save a spoon for a bit of lipstick.
XOXO
Orange Eyed Face of the Day Hey doll hey!!! How are you doing today? I woke up not feeling very well today. I feel like I might be coming down with a cold.
Lori in the Kitchen: Eclairs
Today for no particular reason, I decided to try to make eclairs from scratch. For funsies.
Funsies, she says.
So making eclairs involves three things: making pastry cream (or creme patissiere, if you fancy) which is basically a rich custardy pudding, making choux pastry, a kind of eggy pastry that you cook on the stove, and making chocolate ganache. That last one’s easy and I’ve done it dozens of times. The first two would be new.
My first attempt at pastry cream...failed. You have to whisk up eggs and sugar with a thickening agent (this first recipe used flour), then heat up milk and sugar to simmer, then temper the egg mixture and combine them, then cook the whole mess till it thickens. But if you cook it too much, it’ll “break,” or separate. Which is what mine did. I’ve learned that you can salvage a broken custard, but I just started over. With a slightly different recipe (from Epicurious) that used cornstarch to thicken. This one worked fine, but I liked the taste less. Oh well.
The choux pastry was fine (I used the King Arthur Flour recipe) although it made a lot fewer eclairs than it was supposed to. And once it was cool, the outsides of the puffs were a bit tough, and the pastry was fairly tasteless. Well, they looked pretty, anyway!
Chapter 4 of New Sensations, First (Real) Date
Alright folks, here’s the first chapter in a long Ass time! Holy crap I am so sorry this took so long. And I’m sorry this chapter is pretty short. There should be another somewhat short update within the next day or two, though. Also: this chapter is entirely sex-free! Shocking, I know. That won’t happen that often tho. ao3 link: http://archiveofourown.org/works/8779924/chapters/21117854
That afternoon, we went out to the nearest malasada shop. We ate a bit of lunch, headed back to Po Town, then went back up to his room. I sat back in the chair in the corner, making myself comfortable.
“Hey, so… The place I wanna take ya is really, really nice. Like, really nice. So, um… If ya don’t have some pretty nice clothes to change into, you might wanna go back and get that,” Guzma said, looking almost nervous about this whole thing.
I nodded a bit. “That’s fair. I’ll go out and take a ride pokemon home, then… Wanna pick me up from there?” I asked.
“Yeah, that sounds perfect. I’m excited for tonight, Xandra,” he said, smiling, helping me up from the chair and pulling me up into a kiss.
I smiled, kissing back. “Me too,” I responded. “Wanna tell me where you’re taking me?”
He shook his head. “Nope. You’ll find out when we get there. It’ll be a surprise.”
I sighed in sarcastic defeat. “Fair enough. So should I dress black tie formal or just… nice?”
“Oh god, just nice, none of that crazy super-rich-people bullshit,” he said, waving his hand. “I’ll pick you up at seven?”
“Sounds good!”
I got home and started getting ready. What fancy place was there in Alola? I couldn’t think of anything right off the bat, and honestly part of me didn’t want to spoil the surprise. I started going through my clothes, trying to find something I’d be comfortable in but also look really good. I found a black dress, and actually put effort into matching some lingerie; lacy black, and honestly the only exceedingly nice one I had. I showered, did some makeup which I didn’t always do, and more dramatic makeup at that. By the time I was done and fully ready, it was just a few minutes until seven.
I was making sure I had put my lipstick in my bag for touchups when I heard a knock on the door. I cursed and rummaged for a pair of shoes, picked out a pair of black heels, slipped them on, and then answered the door. It was Guzma; he wasn’t wearing his usual outfit which surprised me. He was wearing a button-up shirt and black pants. He was standing oddly, like he was a bit uncomfortable. He looked great, though.
“Hey, sorry I’m early I just–” he stopped mid-sentence and looked at me, a small blush dusting his cheeks. “Was ready early so I came early. Xandra, ya look amazing.”
I smiled a bit. “Thank you. You look nice, too,” I responded, stepping forward and placing my hands on his chest. He was still significantly taller than me, even in these heels. “I’ve never seen you dressed up.”
He shrugged a bit. “I don’t really like it, honestly. But that’s how nice the place is,” he said. “You, on the other hand… Wow.” He leaned down just a bit, kissing me.
I kissed back just a moment. “Not too much?” I asked.
He smirked. “Nah. It’ll look great smudged across your face tonight.”
It was my turn to blush a little. “Oh?”
He pecked my lips again. “Plus I got a few surprises lined up for then, too. Anyway, ya ready?”
I nodded. “Yep. Shall we?”
He took my arm and, after locking up my house, we started walking towards Malie City. What nice restaurant was in Malie? Whatever. I laced my fingers between his eventually, holding hands the whole way there.
“Thanks for taking me out, by the way,” I said, smiling up at him.
He smiled back. “Anythin’ for my girl.”
That gave me the warm fuzzies. I knew we’d said the big three words, but something about being called his girl… I don’t know, it made me feel good.
We walked into the city, then up to a building with a sign that said Sushi High Roller. I audibly gasped. How did I forget about this place? “Guzma, you didn’t have to, this is so… extravagant, are you positive?” I asked, suddenly concerned. A bill here is my rent.
He nodded. “I’ve been saving up for a while. Just for this, just for us. I’m more than positive.”
“Guzma, I… Thank you, Guz, just… I love you,” I said, turning to face him, smiling a bit. “It means… more than you know that you’re doing something like this for me.”
Guzma pulled me up into a kiss, smiling softly. “'Course, Xandra. I love you too. But let’s go in or we’ll miss our reservation,” he said, somewhat jokingly.
We walked up to the restaurant, went in, and were almost instantly seated. I ordered a cocktail, he had soda. I didn’t question it. We looked over our menus. Everything was so expensive…
“Order whatever ya want. It’s on me, don’t worry about the price tag,” he said.
“If you say so,” I responded. I settled for a moderately priced sushi platter. He got a different kind of platter with a couple sides.
\While we were waiting for our food, I reached across the table and grabbed his hand. “Thank you so much for taking me out, Guz,” I said, smiling at him.
“That’s like, the third time you’ve thanked me, princess,” he responded, lacing his fingers through mine. “You’re more than welcome. I wanna treat ya.”
We were quiet for a while, just enjoying each other’s company. He still appeared a little bit uncomfortable in his clothes, but he did look nice. Soon enough, our food came, we ate, chatting about what we thought. It was delicious, to say the least. I’d never gone anywhere as nice as this (though I knew this wasn’t the fanciest place in the world), and the food reflected the ambience. My sushi was perfect; the rice was cooked to perfection and the fish was incredibly fresh, which didn’t surprise me since we were on an island. Guzma’s was apparently just as amazing. He wasn’t the most graceful about eating, this was no secret, and the food was gone long before mine was.
“You’re a quick eater,” I commented, eating my next piece of sushi with a pair of chopsticks.
He shrugged a bit, picking up a drink and dessert menu off the table, flipping it open and reading it over. “Maybe you’re just a slow eater,” he suggested, smirking a bit.
I shook my head. “Nah, you’re a fast eater. I would know, I’ve felt how your mouth works,” I said, eating another piece of sushi and sucking lightly on the end of one of the chopsticks before popping it out of my lips. “Just sayin’.”
He laughed a little bit. “Fair enough. Hey, you like champagne?” he asked, flipping a page in the menu.
My eyes widened a bit. More spending? On me? “Well, yeah, I mean… but, Guz, you don’t have to–”
“Xandra, I’m gonna treat ya tonight,” he said again, looking up from the menu. “I know I don’t gotta, but I wanna.”
I sighed again. “Alright. I just… feel weird having money spent on me. I dunno,” I replied, eating my last piece of sushi.
“Well, don’t feel bad about it,” he said, flipping another page. “You deserve it.”
I smiled a bit. “Thanks, Guz.”
The waiter came over and asked how we were doing and if we were interested in dessert. Guzma beckoned him over and pointed to something on the menu he was holding, flipped a page and then pointed at something else. The waiter nodded, jotting down the order on his notepad and said he’d get that out to us right away.
Once the waiter was gone, I leaned forward a bit. “What did you get for us?”
He shrugged, then grinned a bit. “You’ll see.”
I shook my head. “You better not bankrupt yourself on one date.”
“I won’t, trust me. Ya really gotta stop worryin’ so much about the money. I got it covered,” he said, taking a sip of his soda.
I took a deep breath. “Sorry. You’re right. Thanks again, though.”
He reached across the table and grabbed my hand this time, rubbing his thumb over mine. “You’re more than welcome.”
A few minutes passed and our waiter returned carrying an ice bucket with champagne and two glasses as well as a small tray with two small ceramic cups and a blowtorch. Creme brulee. He sat everything down, quickly torching the sugar on the custard dessert, then opening the bottle of champagne surprisingly cleanly with a loud ‘pop,’ and pouring some in the two glasses he’d set down earlier, setting the bottle back in the bucket of ice, and leaving us to our dessert.
I looked up at Guzma after he left again. “Holy shit, how’d you know creme brulee was my favorite?” It was my favorite. I loved how it sounded when you tapped on the top with your spoon, and then the sound when you cracked the crust… So satisfying. I began tapping on the glossy hard surface with my spoon gently.
“Lucky guess,” he admitted, shrugging a bit, picking up his spoon and cracking through the caramel shell and taking a spoonful, eating it. “Holy shit,” he mumbled with his mouth full.
“Good?” I asked, still tapping on the shell. It was almost too pretty to break.
“Hell yeah it is. You want to eat it or just play with it?” he asked.
“I’m sorry, it’s just so pretty!” I said, finally breaking through, and taking a bite. It was so silky smooth and just the right amount of sweet. “This is amazing.”
We ate the dessert slowly, enjoying it. We both sipped on the champagne. He bought the whole bottle, so we had plenty to share. He seemed to be drinking far more slowly and far less in volume than I was. I wanted to be mostly sober for later that evening, though, so I didn’t drink as much as I could have. Once we were done, he paid the bill without showing me the price tag. I dug in my bag for the tip, though. I felt obligated to cover at least some of it. Guzma understood and let me do that, at least. I left some money on the table (it would’ve been well over twenty percent no matter what estimation of the bill I had made in my head, considering the service was very, very good anyway), and we left the restaurant.
I held onto his hand and arm during the walk back. “That was delicious. Thanks again,” I said, looking up at him.
He grinned, looking back down at me. “You’re welcome. I’m glad ya liked it,” he said, squeezing my hand.
We walked past my place, up the route between there and Po Town. The evening sky was beautiful tonight; deep reds to light purples. Sunsets were beautiful here. I probably wouldn’t ever get over them. I hope I wouldn’t, anyway. Eventually we made it back up to the formerly shady house, walked in, and walked up to his room. He stopped me before I walked in. I noticed a piece of paper taped to the door with “I SWEAR TO GOD IF YOU COME IN HERE I WILL HAVE MY GOLISOPOD FUCKIN DECK YOU -G” written on it in permanent marker. I stifled a laugh.
“So, what’s in there?” I asked.
“Why don’t we find out, hm?”
What do you think is in the room??
Another chapter headed your way Very Very Soon to make up for that long gap and this short chapter!!!!
I first had cauliflower soup at a restaurant and was not prepared for the amazing, creamy and buttery taste that I was about to experience. Since then, it has been my all time favourite soup to make and enjoy and it was about time I put it on my blog for you all to enjoy yourselves.
#gallery-0-7 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-7 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-7 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Tips for Top Notch Soup
1.) If you’re making this cauliflower soup, don’t be tempted to avoid the roasting process because it offers a gorgeous caramelisation of the cauliflower leading to a deeper and richer taste.
2.) Without the added creaminess, the flavour of your soup will be bland and boring SO the best way to liven up a cauliflower soup is by adding butter, salt and creme fraiche (or cream). This will really help with the flavour.
3.) Flavour is a big big thing when it comes to soup and you get delicious flavours by the added ingredients within a soup such as garlic, herbs, onions etc
4.) My all time favourite ingredient is nutmeg – for me, nutmeg was made for soups and custards and I use it all of the time. I use it within the soup mix and to sprinkle on top for that added subtle nutty flavour.
5.) My favourite ingredient to top off a delicious soup is crispy croutons. They are so easy to make as well and are the perfect crispy addition and all you need is stale bread or baguettes, chop this up and drizzle with olive oil and fry on a low heat until nice and crispy.
  Creamy Cauliflower Soup
Get comfy with this classic cauliflower soup recipe for a cosy night in.
1 Large Cauliflower ((cut into florets))
4 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 Red Onions (Chopped)
1.5 tsp Maldon Sea Salt
3 Garlic Cloves
350 ml Vegetable Broth (I use mine with bay leaves)
3 tbsp Olive Oil Butter
2 tbsp Oatly Creme Fraiche
1 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
1 tsp Lemon Juice
Preheat your oven at 180c and line your florets on a baking tray and drizzle with the olive oil. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes (turning half way).
In a soup mixer, pop all of your ingredients (apart from the butter), along with the cooked cauliflower and turn on, I prefer cauliflower soup to be blended. When the soup is ready, add in the butter and stir until melted and serve.
If you do not have a soup maker, then in a saucepan, cook your onion until softened and then add in your garlic, then add in your lemon juice, broth, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Add in the cauliflower and simmer on a low heat for 20-25 minutes. Towards the end add in your creme fraiche and butter and transfer to a blender and whizz until smooth.
Chocolate Peppermint Creme Brûlée
Creme Brûlée.  It actually amazes me that after nearly 11 years of blogging we don’t have a recipe for creme brûlée posted??  It’s one of my favorite fancy desserts to make because despite the high-brow reputation, creme brûlée is deceptively simple to make.  One of my favorite tricks for holiday baking is to make candy cane sugar- which is exactly what it sounds like- ground candy canes crushed into sugar and used in your holiday recipes.  (Pulverize them even MORE and you get candy cane powdered sugar, also useful.)   As I was putting some extra candy cane sugar away recently I had a thought that it would be so great on top of creme brûlée.  And not just any creme brûlée, chocolate creme brûlée.   So my Chocolate Peppermint Creme Brulee is a creamy rich chocolate-peppermint custard topped with caramelized candy cane sugar.  It’s gorgeous, it’s festive, and it’s delicious.
Creme Brûlée is actually made of incredibly simple ingredients.  To start, you’ll heat some cream on the stovetop and then add in bittersweet chocolate to melt.    You can chop up your favorite bar, or do as I do and just grab a bag of bittersweet chips.
While those are melting you’ll mix up some egg yolks and a little bit of sugar.  This mixture will transform into this thick, fluffy, pale yellow mixture and you know it’s done when it ribbons off a spoon like this.
After you’ve whisked up your chocolate and cream, you’ll add it to your egg mixture. Very similar to ice cream batter here, only we’re baking instead of chilling!
After it’s all mixed up, along with some vanilla and peppermint, you’ll fill up ramekins.  Now, I really like shallow brûlée dishes for creme brûlée, mostly because I like having a bite of caramelized sugar with every bite, but most people don’t own those so ramekins are more practical!  This recipe will fill up 4 6-oz ramekins, but honestly these are so rich, I would suggest filling them only half to 2/3 full and making more like 6 from this same recipe.  If you need to double like I’m doing in these photographs, this recipe doubles just fine.
You’ll notice (just barely) in this photo below that these are sitting in a roasting pan, on top of a dish towel, which helps keep them from sliding around.  I’ve also filled the pan with hot water so it reaches about half way up the ramekins.
As your ramekins are baking, you can pulverize your candy canes to make this gorgeous candy cane sugar. I popped mine in my Blendtec and just pulsed a couple times, but you could also use a food processor, or place them in a zip top bag and smash with a mallet.
Super fine sugar like the photo above will caramelize the best, but I really like how slightly larger chunks look. The fine sugar disappears on the dark chocolate, while little bits of candy canes stay in tact after caramelizing as you can see in my photos.  Totally personal preference.  It is a little harder to caramelize the larger chunks and you have to be careful about burning them, but it can be done!
Now, the most useful tool for caramelizing sugar like this is a kitchen torch!  Rest assured, if you don’t have one you could very carefully put these under a broiler.   A kitchen torch is super fun though, and not super expensive so it’s a really fun gift for any food-loving people on your gift list this year!
If you have a kitchen torch then you probably already know how to do this, but just gently run it over the sugar and it will melt and turn into a crisp crackly sugar.
You can see how this one has larger chunks of candy cane.  It ends up chewier, but I love how it looks and how you can tell it’s candy canes!
The absolute BEST part of eating creme brûlée is cracking your spoon through that sugar for the first time.
This is a fun, elegant (yet easy!) dessert to make this holiday season.  Try it out and let me know what you think!
Description
Creamy decadent chocolate peppermint creme with caramelized crushed candy cane sugar on top.  The perfect holiday dessert!
Note:  This recipe makes 8-10 dishes, feel free to cut in half for a smaller batch.
Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream  3 oz bittersweet chocolate (chopped bar or chips) 4 egg yolks 2 tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 – 1 teaspoon peppermint extract 1-2 candy canes
Instructions
Place oven rack in the center of oven and preheat to 325 degrees.  Place a dish towel in a shallow baking pan and set aside.  Boil a kettle of water and have on hand.
Heat the cream in a medium sauce pan on the stove until hot and just barely bubbling (don’t boil).  Turn heat off and add chocolate.  Let it rest so chocolate can melt.
Place eggs and sugar in a medium-large mixing bowl.  Beat with an electric mixer for 3-4 minutes until mixture is pale yellow in color and thick and fluffy.
Whisk the chocolate and cream until smooth and melted and then slowly drizzle the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture while whisking constantly. Stir until completely smooth and whisk in vanilla and peppermint.
Place ramekins in the pan lined with the dish cloth (see note below about how many ramekins and how full to pour.)  Place pan in oven and carefully pour your hot water into the baking pan until it reaches half way up the outside of the ramekins.   Gently tent the pan with foil.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, slightly more if your ramekins are filled quite full (like mine in these photos!) . They should be just set around the edges and still jiggle when you gently shake the pan.
Remove ramekins from water bath and place on a cooling rack to cool to room temperature.  Cover and chill for at least 4 hours or up to 3 days.
When ready to serve, crush candy canes by pulsing them in a high powered blender, food processor, or a mallet (using a plastic bag.) They should be mostly a fine powder, like granulated sugar, with some larger chunks if you prefer.
Use a torch to caramelize the sugar and serve immediately.
Notes
This recipe will fill 4 6-oz ramekins, however it is quite rich and can easily make 6 servings not filled quite so full. It also doubles just fine so feel free to make a large batch if desired!
