I know Fusion decided to do Bandori (DVHS edition) a while back, so could we have a followup? PJSK: DVHS! Four-person units plus a Vocaloid for each, featuring "you shouldn't technically be here" this time. - II

Dawn to Dusk:

Oshiro (leader), Matsumoto, Ikeda, and Saito

They focus a lot on composition more than anything else, and a lot of their music is said to be best played at night. That’s usually when they have the most time to work on it, too. They don’t really fit in any one genre, though, dipping their toes into everything.

Rin and Len would be their Vocaloids since I think it’d be a funny contrast between them arguing and Oshiro and Saito arguing.

Worldwide:

Ishikawa (leader), Nakamura, Yoshida, and Maeda

This group would probably focus on multilingual songs of all kinds, blending together different styles. Ishikawa of course knows lots of languages, Nakamura knows a bit of other languages, Yoshida’s just fun, and Maeda knows Russian!

Luka is their Vocaloid, since she’s known for being bilingual. I also think she would contribute to their chaos nicely.

Blossoming:

Hamasaki (leader), Fujimoto, Yasu, and Sasaki

They’re kind of like a traditional band like Leo/need, though a lot of their music is more calming. Fujimoto’s great with writing meaningful lyrics, though he doesn’t actually play with the rest of them. Hamasaki plays guitar, Yasu’s on percussion, and Sasaki’s on keyboard. All three of them trade off vocals.

Meiko is their Vocaloid, I think mostly because I associate these four with being more mature/older sibling-figures, kind of like how I think about Meiko.

On Your Feet:

Ueda (leader), Rikimaru, Abe, and Aoyama

They’re slightly more pop-focused, kind of in the realm of dance music. It’s surprising that Abe and Aoyama are part of the group in that regard, but the four of them work incredibly well together (barring some small bickering here and there). 

Kaito is their Vocaloid, and I think he’d cycle between being a sort of mediator and contributing to their excellent vibes, haha.

Miyuki… Most had a more than favorable image of her. After all, what could she possibly do wrong? She was nothing but short of perfection – An angelic smile, a polite way of speaking, a calm demeanor, a lovely face and most importantly… Part of a successful family, well known across Japan, a rich household if you will. She has been blessed on all ends, perfect through and through. However, it takes two playing the same game to realize that she is nothing but a fraud. And Goro knew it first hand. 

Usually no one set him off nor truly terrified him. Sure, in some situations he had been faced with less pleasant odds yet he was still in control. But not with Miyuki. She… Knew too much. Her connections allowed her to know more than the average person. But that she knew someone very high up personally, that was a shock which he had been met with out of literal nowhere. It hit him out of left field. And only shortly after did he figure out what she was capable of. He was aware of her power, given that she was, in fact, an Ishikawa. So whenever she approached him things could take a turn really fast, especially when alone. Last time he had been lucky, they were around. But this time? Her timing was unpredictable and just downright awful. 

She had seen him, right in the crowd and walked up to him. To most it looked like any other conversation and that smile graces her face. That slimey, disgustingly sweet smile. The one which made her try way too hard. That smile which made him sick to the stomach at any point. Anyone who knew her would probably puke from it. It was that disgusting to look at. Yet he never commented on it, keeping those thoughts caged inside his head. Not like anyone would believe it to begin with. They were all blinded, calling her an ‘angel’. But angels are nothing but a myth. They don’t exist. Though the public may want them to exist. If they only could see that this white dress of hers was tainted with blood… 

Well, at least she had not bothered to hide it right now. Instead the two had been going to a more isolated spot within the building. Apparently she had something ‘important’ to discuss with him, though that was debatable. And shortly after it may have been proven correct. Instead of speaking up first and foremost her smile faded and instead she trapped him behind a wall and herself, slamming one of her hands next to him, palm slamming against said wall. She may have been smaller than him yet he dared not to move, not knowing what would happen to him otherwise. All it would take was one sudden scream and it could all be over… And he wasn’t going to risk that.

“So so, Daddy’s little lap dog looks really busy these days.” Miyuki began, her smile having turned into a rather deformed grin. Her glare had shot up to Goro’s face, coming face–to–face with him, somewhat. These golden eyes may as well be the ones spawning from the devil. And that smirk was something else… The undertones are more than obvious. He hated it. He hated her face, all of it. Yet this expression was one of the worst… “You’re not slacking on your responsibilities, are you?”

“How I handle my work is hardly any of your business.” He countered, having to hold himself back from hissing. In fact his tongue could just barely keep it together. Yet if he said something out of line then—

“Haha, well, I guess you’re right. As long as you come barking to Daddy like a good dog~” She laughed, unable to hold it in even. Each word made her ‘sweet’ tone become more and more twisted, nearly cracking at points. “He’s pleased with your work either way, isn’t he?”

“Your point?”

“Hmm… I guess there’s none. Not really at least.” She laughed once more before backing away, at least a little bit. Her arm had removed itself from the wall at the very least. “Besides from you having a point to exist.”

The words irked him, they always did. Yet this was not the first time the two had the conversation to begin with. Yet she would not let him get a word out, not yet at least.

“I mean, a bastard kid like you should consider itself lucky. Serving a purpose and not ending up as a miscarriage? How fortunate~”

Each word coming from her mouth made Goro want to punch her stupid face in. Unfortunately she knew. Miyuki had always known. Her connections had reached that far. Ever since he met her she was like this towards him, treating him as someone less. She reminded him of his life every single time, not letting any opportunity slip. Insults were nothing uncommon yet he could handle it if it was towards himself. However, she always knew how to cross the line… 

“Though I still believe that your slut of a mother would’ve been better off with a miscarriage. Having you probably put her name even more to shame. Raising a bastard child while—”

“Didn’t I tell you to shut up!?” Yeah, that was something he could not handle. It made him drop his mask in an instant and let his fury show, one of the few instances. Yet he dared to not become physical, he never did. Though raising his voice would not be out of the question. She was pissing him off, she always did. Dragging him down was bad enough but his own mother? Talk about crossing a line… That bitch! 

“Oh, defensive now? Look at your ugly mug, little thing~” Miyuki laughed, of course nowhere near apologizing. 

Goro scoffed at this, trying to not let this get the better of himself. “What do you want?”

“Wanting to get rid of me already? I’m hurt~ … Just kidding.” She taunted, not holding back her smirk in any way. “But fine, enough about that. Your slut of a Mom is doing fine in hell anyways.”

“Watch your mouth.”

“So should you, bastard kid. You better give me what I want or you know what will leak across the internet~” Hearing this made him gulp for a moment, his face showing his annoyance however. That woman never knew when to shut up. Yet she continued as if it was nothing, as if she just hadn’t taken it too far. “Anyways, I’m curious about your friend from earlier. Luka, was it? Tell me more about him, would you?”

Hearing that had Goro in shock for a moment. What was this bitch planning now? “For what purpose?”

“I don’t have to tell you little foundling~”

“Then have fun—”

“You wouldn’t want me showing the press some of your papers, would you~?”

He froze, not daring to finish that sentence. He… Couldn’t argue. He knew that this would happen. She had the upper hand here. And he hated it more than anything. There was nothing he could do… Nothing. Absolutely nothing. “F… Fine… I’ll play along.”

“Good bastard kid. Looks like you got your uses after all~” Miyuki chuckled, using that sickening smile of hers to put emphasis on how pleased she was right now. “Alright, let’s get this started. Firstly… Who is this Luka guy? Tell me all about him~”

With a Resounding "Yes", It's Time for Paranormasight VA Headcanons!

I'm going to be an oddball and switch between Japanese & English VAs when I find it relevant. Also my order's gonna be based on how strongly I think the headcanon works. I'll also try to provide examples for the angle I'm going for

let's a go

Tetsuo Tsutsumi Japanese: Option 1 - Akio Otsuka (Executioner from Akudama Drive). Option 2 - Jouji Nakata (Osvald from Octopath Traveler 2) English: Option 1 - Jamieson Price (Malik Caesar from Tales of Graces F). Option 2 - Jason Douglas (Kishibe from Chainsaw Man)

Middle aged men characters are my specialty so really it depends on the delivery you want. Richard Epcar (Ace from 999) could also work for English as well as Bill Butts (Ciocolotta from Jojo part 5)

Makoto Ashimiya/Fumichika Nejima Japanese: Kenjiro Tsuda (Ogata from Golden Kamuy...and also Kishibe from Chainsaw Man). Katsuyuki Konishi could also be a good example but I can't really think of an old man character. I guess Takehito Koyasu could also work? But like this is THE most TsudaKen looking motherfucker I've ever seen English: Joe J. Thomas (Nobunaga Hazama from Hunter x Hunter). His "So I did" line really cemented this casting choice tbh.

Richter Kai Japanese: Shiniciro Miki (Kisuke Urahara from Bleach) English: For this, it depends again on the delivery you want. I originally wanted Doug Erholz (maybe not like Vega from Street Fighter), but upon closer inspection, Ray Chase (Uzui Tengen from Demon Slayer) might be a better pick.

Harue Shigima English: Laura Post (Empress from A Hat in Time) Japanese: Kikuko Inoue (Rhea from Fire Emblem Three Houses)

It just works, it just works~

Shogo Okiie English: Chris Hackney (Yuito from Scarlet Nexus) Japanese: Tatsuhisa Suzuki (Noctis from Final Fantasy 15)

Standard older protagonist

Jun Erio Japanese: Kaito Ishikawa (Noe from Case Study of Vanitas or Iida from My Hero Academia) English: Griffin Burns (Doppio from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure). Zeno Robinson (Akira from Zom 100) would also work great!

An excitable character that I think can work great with the right delivery.

Takumi Yumioka Japanese: Toshiyuki Morikawa (Yoshikage Kira from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) English: Ben Lepley (Gouto from 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim)

I feel like a flat delivery that still has an air of intimidation would work best for him.

Mayu Chozawa English: Option 1 - Tara Sands (Sonya from Fire Emblem Echoes); Option 2 - Cristina Vee (Velvet from Tales of Berseria). Amanda C. Miller (Sailor Jupiter from Sailor Moon) is also a good pick along with Heather Gonzalez (Cherche from Fire Emblem Heroes) Japanese: Miyuki Sawashiro (Kyoko Honda from Fruits Basket). Nana Mizuki could also work, though I sadly can't think of a role off the top of my head

Going for the woman who grew up a punk vibe

Yutaro Namigaki Japanese: Jun Fukuyama (Draluc from Vampire Dies in No Time) English: It's tempting to put Xander Mobus for the total Joker Persona 5 duology but ehhhhh. It depends on the delivery again. Brian Beacock (Luthier from Fire Emblem Echoes) or Steve Staley (Hubert from Tales of Graces F) could also work tbh. Maybe Lucien Dodge (Waver Velvet from Fate/Zero)

Ayame Touno English: Faye Mata (Amame from AI: The Somnium Files) Japanese: Rie Kugimiya (Rise from Persona 4)

The voices contrast each other, but I think each one compliments the kind of character Ayame is.

Storyteller Japanese: Hochu Otsuka (Tsurumi from Golden Kamuy) English: TBD

Here's where I'm starting to think about 1 solid casting and kinda improvising for the second one. I think the Storyteller changes voices depending on the mask they wear, so for this old man mask, an old man they shall sound like.

Michiyo Shiraishi English: Xanthe Huynh (Marianne from Fire Emblem Three Houses) Japanese: Aya Endo (Miyuki from Lucky Star)

Few lines for such a sweet gal

Not related to casting but I think she and Ayame would be weird girl besties and I love that for them

Hideiki Araishi English: Patrick Seitz (there's a specific role in mind that sounds similar to Mama from AI: The Somnium Files but naaah that doesn't sound right) Japanese: Tomokazu Sugita (sadly can't think of a role off the top of my head)

He's a bit of a snob so something a bit arrogant works best

Kohei Jounichi Japanese: Here's where I think Katsuyki Konishi would fit best (Koito from Golden Kamuy comes to mind, oddly). Makoto Furukawa (why did I think Ronaldo from Vampire Dies in No Time??) could also work English: I think this will depend on the delivery. Do you want him more cowardly? I kinda see David Vincent tbh (Henri from Iruma-kun)

Hajime Yoshimi English: He could be another potential Patrick Seitz role, but I want to avoid double casting as much as possible. Japanese: Subaru Kimura (Todo from Jujutsu Kaisen)

Hitomi Okuda Japanese: Ai Farouz (Jolyne Kujo from JJBA) English: Option 1 - Laura Stahl (Alear from Fire Emblem Engage); Option 2 - Erica Mendez (can't think of a role off the top of my head)

Once again going for toughness, but from a younger angle

I just watched a clip of a Japanese VTuber playing that moment in Fallen Order. You know, that moment where Darth Spoiler shows up to make Cal question his entire life.

REVIEW | "The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague" | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade

Jeez, there sure are a lot of high school romance stories in anime! Don’t get me wrong: a lot of them are great, but it’s sometimes weird to relate to teenage characters when someone like me is…not a teenager. Sometimes I wish adult romances got as much love and respect in anime, rather than wait every blue moon for another WOTAKOI or My Senpai is Annoying. Thankfully, we’ve finally got another romance anime for grown-ups, in the form of The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague.

Based on the manga by Miyuki Tonogaya, The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague begins with Fuyutsuki (Yui Ishikawa) heading to her first day of work. On the way, she finds a strange man whose feet are literally trapped in ice. Himuro (Chiaki Kobayashi), a descendant of a Snow Woman spirit, is nervous about starting a new job, which fills him with so much anxiety that he’s literally frozen in place. Being a kind person, Fuyutsuki helps Himuro melt the ice with her tea, which also eases his stress.

Upon arriving at work, both Fuyutsuki and Himuro discover that they are sharing the same office. But they’re not alone, as the fox spirit descendant Komori (Yumi Uchiyama) and other normal human Saejima (Koki Uchiyama, no relation) have also started working for the same company. On top of building a great office friendship, the four find themselves often pairing up for out-of-work get-togethers. As this goes on, the bonds between Fuyutsuki & Himuro and Komori & Saejima start to grow stronger.

Outside of it being about adults rather than teens, what makes The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague a strong show is the mannerisms of the characters. As the title points out, Fuyutsuki is the type who doesn’t show too much emotion. She’s laid-back, calm, and manages to be the strongest-willed person in the entire series. On the other side of the spectrum is Himuro, whose anxiety causes indoor blizzards and for computers to literally freeze when he’s nervous.

Summary: Miyuki Ishikawa, a woman who seems to have it all. She is a daughter of the successful Ishikawa family. However, something seems off about her. She is a little too perfect... And with that gut feeling Pipistrello sends Anja / Luka on a mission to 'change her heart'. However, this is just going to be the beginning... Though they don't have to worry about the consequences just yet.
