Turn of the century thoughts: college stuff

Feeling historically angsty tonight. Thinking about the girls applying to colleges and getting rejected on the basis of their womanhood as a lot of colleges didnt admit women until the 1960s.

The guys helping them deal with that rejection. Kurt baking some apple turnovers for Kitty and brews coffee for her, helping stay up with her as she works on more applications, offering hugs whenever she needs them.

Scott trying to plan with jean on the next application, soothing her worries about if she was good enough. He reminds her she's the smartest most wonderful woman he's ever met, on par with madame curie and it's their loss for denying her.

Remy is considering blackmail but chooses not to cause he knows rogue would want to get in only on her own merit so instead he does whatever else he can to make her happy. takes her out to the movies, cooks her some dinner, listens to her vent, and sets up a dart board of the harvard presidents face for her

Todd and the brotherhood do try to get blackmail on the university president for Wanda except wanda wasn't denied entry, she just didn't get a scholarship to the woman only college she applied to. And so now she is worried about getting expelled cases of these boys. Erik has to get Mystique to fix things while he keeps her from totally blowing up the boarding house.

That last part was slightly humorous but hopefully you guys enjoyed the hurt comfort.

It's so weird that people keep saying that Wanda's trauma is because of Tony. "Tony's weapons attacked her home! It's Tony's fault!" Actually, those weapons were sold by Obadiah Stane (if they were Stark Industries' weapons at all, but we'll ignore how the logo is wrong because it might just be a continuity error). Tony actually is the person who stopped Stane the instant he found out about it. So in fact, Tony is the one who prevented what happened to Wanda from ever happening again.

But for some reason we can't say that. Everyone cries foul. They say we're trying to erase Wanda's trauma. Instead of, you know, redirecting it to the proper source. But I guess it's easier to take up the narrative Wanda created (and loudly and consistently spouts) instead of looking at the truth (which is never said out loud in the movies and is left to be inferred). Because children don't understand how to think critically.

It was really wonderful to see her again, it's been a very long time, and an even longer time since Wanda and Luna had any interaction. I hope we get more in the future.

Do Charles and Erik ever get together in your century au? When they lived together, did Charles interact with Erik's children? Was he their stepfather?

They were together in a "romantic friendship" (read romantic relationship) and lived together in the past when they worked together at the Hull House. However that was a long time ago, before Pietro and Wanda were born. He did not know them growing up but he knew of them and had met them in the past.

Not really a step father but Wanda currently likes him better than her own father. Had Charles walk her down the isle.

Both do miss their relationship and pine for each other to an extent. Maybe some day in the future they can come together again....
