Angel's Best
(my favorite recipe posts I've made over the years, plus backstories that sound like your grandmother's reminiscing over the past.)
LATE WINTER BUTTER ROLLS
My first post I ever made. I was pretty new to the tumblr community at the time. I loved kitchen witchcraft, and I'm the type of person who will ramble on about how much I love cooking and baking. This blog gave me an outlet to express my love of cooking, baking, paganism, and witcraft. And these rolls are very tasty, I make them to this day!
WITCHY TOMATO BASIL SOUP
Tasty, simple, and a crowd-pleaser. It's perfect for a beginner kitchen witch! It was also the second recipe I ever posted.
SWEET CREAM BUNS
It was a recipe given to me by one of my good friends at the time. Every time I make it, it gets devoured in less than 10 minutes. It was also my first recipe to get over 50 notes. I was shocked but ecstatic that so many people would even give it the time of day lol.
WITCHY THUMBPRINT COOKIES
These ones were just fun to make and delicious lol.
A WITCHโ€™S COZY BUTTERNUT WINTER SOUP
A quick soup that feeds a lot of people during the fall season. Fall is my favorite season, so of course I'm very biased lol.
SAMHAIN PUMPKIN BREAD
I love pumpkin bread and apple cider... So why not combine the two? This one was definitely one of my favorites of all time. Moist pumpkin bread and chocolate chips have to be one of my favorite things on this planet. It also makes for the perfect gift for friends and family. Yummy!
ANGELโ€™S AWARD-WINNING LEMON POPPY SEED BREAD
I love dessert loaves of any kind, so naturally, this would be on the list lol.
MAPLE BUTTER COOKIES
Super simple comfort food! I love any time of cookie with brown sugar.
BRING ME POSITIVITY PECAN FRENCH TOAST BAKE
I love French toast, and I love positivity~
SAMHAIN SOUL CAKES RECIPE
These are really good! And traditional. If you celebrate Samhain, I recommend you make some soul cakes and have friends and family help decorate. I give the littles a bag of orange frosting and let them go crazy lol.
FEEL BETTER CHICKEN SOUP
One of my most recent is my witchy twist on chicken noodle soup!

Hey witches! Are you drawn to the rhythm of the waves, the salty scent of the sea, and the boundless expanse of the ocean stretching to the horizon? If so, you might be attuned to the magic of Sea Magic, a mystical practice that connects with the elemental energies of water and the mysteries of the deep. Here are a few ways to embrace the magic of Sea Magic:
๐ŸŒŠ Connect with the Tide: Sea witches typically have a strong connection to the ocean, drawing inspiration, energy, and spiritual guidance from its vastness and power. Tune into the ebb and flow of the tides, allowing their rhythmic movement to guide your magical workings and rituals. Work with the energy of high tide for abundance and manifestation, and low tide for release and letting go.
๐Ÿšฐ Water Magic: Water is a central element in sea witchery, and practitioners often work with its properties for cleansing, healing, intuition, and emotional balance.
๐ŸŒ™ Moon Magic: Like many other forms of witchcraft, sea witchery often incorporates lunar cycles and phases, harnessing the energy of the moon for rituals and spellcasting.
๐Ÿชธ Herbalism: Sea witches may work with herbs and plants associated with coastal regions or those that thrive in saline environments for magical purposes.
๐Ÿฌ Work with Sea Creatures: Connect with the spirits of the sea and the creatures that dwell beneath the waves, such as dolphins, whales, and mermaids, honoring their wisdom and guidance in your magical practice.
๐Ÿš Collect Seashells and Sea Treasures: Sea witches may collect shells, driftwood, seaweed, and other items washed ashore for use in spells, rituals, or as talismans. Gather seashells, sea glass, and other treasures washed ashore by the ocean, incorporating them into your spells, rituals, and altar decorations to infuse your magic with the energy of the sea.
๐ŸŒŠ Invoke Ocean Deities: Cultivate a relationship with ocean deities and spirits, such as Poseidon, Yemaya, or Neptune, by offering prayers, making offerings, and invoking their blessings and protection in your magical workings.
๐Ÿงœ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Seafaring Lore and Folk Traditions: Sea witches may draw upon maritime folklore, legends, and traditions for rituals, spells, and divination practices. Marine creatures like dolphins, whales, mermaids, and sea turtles may hold symbolic significance in sea witchcraft, representing various aspects of the ocean's energy and mythology.
๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Navigation and Divination: Some sea witches incorporate navigation techniques, such as reading the stars or using instruments like compasses, into their practice. Divination methods related to the sea, such as scrying with water or shells, may also be used.
๐Ÿฆญ Respect for Nature: Central to sea witchery is a reverence for the natural world, particularly the ocean and its ecosystems, with an emphasis on environmental stewardship and sustainability. Sea witches often perform rituals for protection, purification, healing, and empowerment, drawing upon the strength and resilience of the ocean.

Whether you're a beachcomber, a sailor, or simply a lover of the sea, Sea Magic invites you to dive deep into the mysteries of the ocean and explore the hidden realms that lie beneath the waves. So let the rhythm of the sea guide you, and may your magic flow as freely as the currents of the ocean! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿš

Something I wish for everyone to know is that you signed up for this. Your gods - your spirits - your Horrors - your Divinities? They know you. They know you deep and intimately. They are aware of you and your passions. They know what you are tuned into. They speak to you through your passions and your designs and your impact on the world around you. If your heart throbs for plants they will send you messages through them. They will send you messages on the wind if you are listening to it. You decided what synchronicities you are receptive to. They simply tuned into your frequency and speak to you through those things that draw your attention and focus. They know you. So no. Someone that may get synchronicities from the same Divinity as you through a different avenue and medium does not mean that they are wrong or being tricked or fooled. What a petty thing to deem for another person. The things that linger and lurk and offer up their words and their wisdom to you will speak to you through whatever you focus on in what ever form that takes. The Tongue of your Gods is in your mouth.

just tried to connect with hekate, hoping it works. its my first time trying to connect with a deity although i've done it on accident before. weird, right? natural witchy brain i suppose. reading about modern witchcraft and just couldn't stop thinking about hekate after her first mention so i took it as a sign and used the books method of reaching out to her. carving my name into a black candle, turning all the lights off then lighting it well saying "hekate, queen of witches. I, (your name) am a witch and i call upon you! i ask that you bless me as i walk this path. guide me as i work my magic, so i might make the best possible choices. light my way with your wisdom. this i ask as a witch and a woman. so mote it be" i have zero idea if this works but yk i did it anyway, its worth a shot. blessed be, friends

My parents hate my new life choices so I might as well go full on into it and start practicing witchcraft. Does anyone have any tips? I've tried before but I never got far.

Witchcraft can be as complex or as simple as you like. For example, our main method of divination is using a set of dnd dice, and putting seasonings on a microwave pizza is our one of our main personal protection spells.

Is it really low tech/high life when everything you use is created through science and technology. Paper, ink, pens, food, showers, cars, clothes, etc. Your life is high tech because everything is technology. What you use in this life makes life easier. Even your body is a machine that houses your soul. Your brain the central computer in which you create, through science, technology in which life is simpler. And like every piece of technology it must break, shut down, come to a close. We return to the stars free from the machine. Ghosts without limits. Freeโ€ฆuntil reborn again into another humanoid machine or animal, bug. Life is a matrix, it is vast, confusing and endless. It goes up and down, around and around. A maze caught in an endless loop. And it can be hard, but amazing. This system, this reality so unknown that you cannot help but hate and love it. That system called life.

Five Tips and Tricks for Beginner Witches and Wiccans
I, a Wiccan of four years, am here to tell you a little about the craft, how I work with it, and how it works with me. This will be a basic beginning post, nothing too complicated, but I will have follow-up posts that touch on more detail.
Some topics I may write about later on would be: The Lord and Lady of Green Witchcraft and Other Deity Work; Tarot and How Divinations Can Strengthen Your Magic; Kitchen Witchery and How To Use the Craft in Your Cooking; Intentions and Manifestations: How You Can Influence Your Life; and, finally, Herbs and Crystals: Why They're Important.
I am a follower of Hekate, the Greek goddess of magic, the night, ghosts, witchcraft, the moon, and necromancy who resides in Hades as Persephone's companion. Of course, this is only what the extent of the internet states along with my own personal research. I have an altar to her which I light the candle on when I have time. I have not been contacted by her, so I have no deity work, but I do respect her deeply and have often sent gifts home with a friend for their Persphone, another goddess I respect, altar (with who they do deity work).
The first tip: Read. If you have even the slightest idea or inkling that you may be or are interested in Wicca/Witchcraft, read up on it using nifty internet sources or try and find an occult or Wiccan supply store near you. If it isn't for you, fine, it's not for everyone. But, if you think it might be the thing you've been looking for, read some more and do some personal digging to see if you just like the idea of the magic or if you feel a strong connection with the Craft. If you just like magic, then maybe you should read up on non-practicing Wiccans, but if you feel a connection to the Craft, you may be a witch! Only you can make that distinction.
The second tip: Find something you're good at. Finding a skill you are proficient in may help you find out what kind of magic you practice. There are multiple variants of Witchcraft, and they are separated by the kinds of magic they use and how they execute them. Do research on the different types of Witches and think about what kind of spells you've been practicing and which ones have been more successful.
The third tip: Feel the magic in your heart and think carefully about your actions. Any Witch or Wiccan will need to be careful with what he or she says because of threefold returns, a belief mostly found in Green Witchcraft's codes of conduct that states everything you do will come back threefold. Any Witch, however, should watch their actions as we are connected to nature and the elements themselves, making the Karma (if you believe in it) we experience that much more potent and powerful.
The fourth tip: Be careful with spells. Even a simple spell can go awry without proper experience. Try something easy like a protection jar or a calming tea. Do not attempt any negative spells. Do. Not. You should never curse anyone. Ever. Hexes and Jinxes are often accidental, and Voodoo is simply intentions and muddled to me, I don't quite understand it. But, you should never ever cast a spell with hurtful intent. Especially against other Witches! You draw from the same well, and the Karma, or whatever you wish to refer to it as, will be multiplied intensely. You can't just 'take back' a curse, it's not an accident. It is a purposeful intent that you seek to create and carry out. Be. Careful.
The final tip: Practice Grounding. Grounding is a form of drawing and returning energy from and to the Earth and the elements. It is also a great way to focus your energy and can even be a form of meditation. I suggest grounding before and after you practice your craft and at any point you need strength. Depending on your level of focus and how much energy you need, the time you require to ground energy will vary. I suggest being as close to the ground as possible, and to try and face North. Focus all you can on drawing energy up from the ground or allowing it to flow through you and back to whence it came. It's always good to send energy back after you've borrowed it, as loose energy can hang around your area after you've finished your Craftwork for the day.
If any of your questions need to be answered, feel free to ask them. I would be happy to help to the best of my ability, and I know I would have liked someone to help me and compare experiences to when I was a baby Witch. Goodbye for now!
