This is my favorite thing in Octopath Traveler 2.

Spoilers to follow.

At the game’s end- when the last journey is upon our travelers- they must go to the statues, and relight the Sacred Flame.

And when you look at the statues of the gods, written on them... is this.

O inheritors of our will...

The Gods have done what they can; if Temeonos’ story at his beginning is to be believed, most of the Gods are explicitly dead, or at least, weakened.

But the party- mere mortals- are not treated as mere tools of the Gods, nor as interlopers or unworthy successors...

But as inheritors.  As part of that divine legacy, as worthy of taking up the task of the Gods.

Despite everything- despite Throne’s horrific past, Hikari’s semi-possession, despite the mundane nature of Agnea and Partitio and all the other problems that plague the party- they are worthy of being inheritors of divine will.  These mere mortals not mere at all, in the eyes of the very gods themselves- but equals, able hands for the task ahead.

There’s something beautiful about that.  Gods and mortals, acting as one, to ensure the coming of dawn.

This world has some kindly gods to it.

What’s up with how the dunmeshi fandom just lies about this kind of stuff all the time. It is easily confirmable information that it was a monthly series, something incredibly common in the industry.

A not weekly magazine schedule is literally common !! Especially in the seinen shoujo and josei demographics, sometimes monthly, sometimes biweekly, sometimes every two months, sometimes seasonal! Please stop lying about how Dunmeshi was some special unique creation that defies all standards of manga just to hype it up because it is so clear that every single one of these comparisons is centered around Weekly Shonen Jump (and understand that SJ has many magazines under its brand that are monthly or semimonthly). Not everything is WSJ and it needs to stop being the only point of reference in conversations like this 🤧

I've been researching digital art in the context of modern folk art, outside institutional or commercial art. I analysed almost 500 art GIFs across Tumblr, Artstation and GIPHY.

There's almost no academic research on art GIFs, so it was important to me to examine and document it. I also examined the optimisation of GIFs and how it relates to web sustainability.

And because the bachelor program was focused on art practice, I then created my own art GIFs, and it seemed only right that I should do it through fanart of something I've been really into lately. Thanks @samreich and the rest of Dropout for giving me some unhinged content as inspiration. Watch 'Game Changer' everyone, it's great.

Netflix, I don’t know how to tell you this but a woman doesn’t have to be self taught to be a strong female character. It’s ok to let her know her limitation and ask for help. It’s ok to let her get angry, it’s ok to let her be jealous, it’s ok to let your female character have flaws and WORK on them. Your female character doesn’t have to become a master on her own to be memorable, it just makes her accomplishment feel unearned.
