I must admit I'm glad Omega's not on her own and now she can meet other kids in the vault and then with their combined power they'll all take down Tantiss and overthrow the government and then Emerie can fill out some adoption papers

Hemlock suddenly snatched Tech’s data pad away from Emerie, and held it before them. No numbers or information was displayed on the screen that she had pulled up. 

Instead, it was a picture. 

It was Tech, sitting in front of Omega, both of whom wore the navy and silver uniforms of the Transport Union, clearly at an award ceremony. Omega’s arms were around Tech, and a little girl sat on his lap. Her brown hair and eyes matched Tech’s, while her pretty smiling face was a mirror of Omega’s, and Emerie’s as well. She held a toy tooka, just like Lula, and was happily cuddled into Tech’s arms. 

Hemlock chuckled, as if he had just heard a good joke, looking at the picture.

“I most certainly would not have guessed this was possible, but variables are a core part of any scientific experiment. Who knew that clones were so paternal? ” He asked aloud to no one in particular. 

'The Discovery' Into the Techiverse

Things are heating up on Into the Techiverse. While Tech is distracting Hemlock (and getting to Omega), Crosshair is being rescued. And the lurca hounds? Well, they're about to do something wild in the next chapter. Maybe that includes Batcher!

God bless Tech, looking through pictures of alternative versions of himself, including one where he's an officer with a wife and daughter.

Fennec in Season 3 of TBB - Where Will Her Loyalties Lie?

This may have already been obvious to everyone else, but I wanted to put it out there and see what you all think. Ming-Na Wen posted this to Twitter and it has me very intrigued as to what Fennec's role will be in season 3.

In the leaked teaser footage, the only shot of Fennec is of her aiming and shooting...something. Or someone.

When I first heard she had spilled the fact that she would be in season 3 (before we even got the season 3 confirmation in the TBB panel...love that woman) I immediately figured that she would be helping the Batch find Omega.

Then I realized, so far she has been a bounty hunter mainly for Nala Se, the Empire, and other nefarious individuals, and of course as a bounty hunter she never does anything without a price. So maybe she would be hunting down the rest of the Batch members to bring them in?

But then I thought through the fact that in season 1, her objective to capture Omega always came from Nala Se, who ultimately, just wanted to keep Omega safe from the very fate she has ended up in--being used by the Empire to be experimented on. And, I like to think that Fennec was pretty impressed by her during both of their encounters. I sensed a bit of admiration at how resourceful and determined Omega was to avoid capture and stay with her brothers. I think Fennec secretly respects that and has some care for her even if she would never admit it.

So I went back to season 1 to pull some screenshots, because I realized--there is a strong parallel here (and foreshadowing), that Omega is wanted for experimentation, and Fennec wants to help save her.

Omega is standing in front of an eerie stasis tube with a presumably dead alien inside it. As Fennec enters, she says that Omega can only rely on herself (interesting verbiage when she is without most of her brothers both here and where we will find her in season 3), and she reminds Omega that she already knows why she is valuable to the Empire...and by extension we are shown what Omega's worst fear is.

But, Fennec immediately lets her know that she is trying to help her...to save her. Foreshadowing, much?

Finally, after Omega escapes back to her brothers in this episode, Fennec answers a call from Nala Se and lets her know she got away...and also says that she is available if her services are ever needed again.

So, we have a bounty hunter who never misses, who has been tasked with saving Omega multiple times already, who had a very poignant and very specific scene with her in front of a stasis tube/potential cloning experiment, all giving a very intentional and intimate look at Omega's importance in the story. Coincidence? I doubt it.

So what do we think? I think whoever she ends up aiming at in season 3 can't be one of the Batch members. I wonder if maybe Nala Se finds a way to contact her again. Or maybe she is forced to, and maybe Fennec is tasked with finding the Batch again but when she finds out where Omega is, she is willing to help them instead. Maybe Rex somehow has enough credits to hire her to help them figure out where Mt. Tantiss is. Or, really wild thought, maybe Cid has a change of heart and fronts the credits to hire her as penance for what she's done.

Regardless, I sincerely hope that shot is aimed at Hemlock (not one of our boys)...and I hope she doesn't miss.

I'd like to take a moment to appreciate how incredible Echo is

When Wrecker had to go to the far end of the compound and turn on the breakers (Jurassic Park feels, anyone? He even had to PRIME the handle), that left Hunter, Crosshair, and Echo to deal with the wyrm, while Omega was ready to flip the switch for the perimeter fence. Now, normally, Crosshair would be their eyes in the sky, taking the tower and covering them from up high; but he can't because of his twitchy hand. Without missing a beat or embarassing Crosshair, Echo immediately volunteered to take the high vantage point to call out directions - good thing, too, because Cross can barely hit the broadside of a barn as he is right now.

As a strategist and a leader, Echo has come so far. The way he mediates conflict, encourages the team, guides Omega, and keeps them focused on the mission "here and now" is remarkable. He has all the best qualities of Rex and Obi-Wan. I'm just so proud of him.

So everyone has talked about Omega holding a weapon derived from the same blaster that Boba Fett as, but is anyone else talking about the fact she's wearing her Mt. Tantis cloner's uniform while doing so?

I mean, it's pretty obvious she's heading back to the mountain, and I'm certain she'll voluntarily choose to go to save Emerie and the other clones, and Nala Se.

I love love love how The Bad Batch continually takes the time, even in the smallest of ways, to remind us that Omega is just a kid. “It ate the crew?” she breathes, horrified. She shrinks against Wrecker. “It ate the crew…” Yeah, she’s a genetically modified clone, a mean shot with a Zygerrian energy bow, and just as much a part of the Bad Batch as any of the others, but she doesn’t have the advantage of the years of battle experience that the rest of the batch has—she’s good and she’s brave but she’s just a little girl.

Summary: Emerie understands Omega more than her sister knows.

Dr. Emerie Karr stood outside the door of her sister’s quarters, looked down at the doll in her hands, and sighed. She'd spent the day thinking about the little thing, lovingly woven from some kind of dried grass, perhaps from the kennels where Omega fed the animals each day. It rustled softly when she lifted its small, delicately-made arm.

Personal possessions weren’t permitted, of course. The girl had known that, had tried to keep the toy hidden. A small part of the doctor was impressed that she’d managed to succeed for so long, but when Emerie had taken it away, she’d thought it was for the best, despite her sister’s heartbreaking pleas. The sooner Omega got used to her new life, the better.

It had been hard for Emerie too, being taken from the only life she’d known to become Dr. Hemlock’s assistant. She had been the first attempt by the Kaminoans to create a force sensitive, female clone, or at least one with the ability to replicate that sensitivity in others. The male clones had proven to be useless for such a cause, and, in the end, so had Emerie. So she had been given up, discarded in favor of a new attempt, and because she was not created to be a soldier, she had had no purpose, at least until her life here on Tantiss. 

After the war had ended, many more clones had been sent to protect the facility here. It had felt strange, something she hadn’t realized she’d missed, to be suddenly surrounded by more brothers than she had seen in years, to hear their familiar voices every day. Commander Scorch, the doctor’s head of security, was the one she saw most often. If she was Hemlock’s right hand, Scorch was his left. Emerie thought she should feel something, a sense of camaraderie towards the commando, after all, he was her brother, but if she was reserved, he was only moreso. She and the troopers stationed here on Tantiss, they were nothing more than coworkers, more loyal to Hemlock and the Empire than each other. Sometimes she felt the faintest ache when they went back to their barracks together and she returned to her private quarters, alone. But Emerie knew she wasn’t like them, not a soldier, a scientist. Dr. Hemlock had given her a purpose when she’d had none. That was why he deserved her loyalty. 

Then Omega had come. The girl hadn’t even recognized Emerie as another clone, but why would she? All the time that Omega had spent on Kamino with Nala Se, Emerie had been here, learning to become a scientist. 

Mistress Se and the other geneticists had learned a great deal from their failure with Emerie, the main point being that the result they desired could not come from a clone whose DNA had been modified for accelerated aging. And so, Omega was as pure a genetic replication of Fett as could be produced, except, of course, that she was female. And blonde. Emerie turned the doll in her hands again, smiling faintly at the memory of that little surprise. She had wondered if the girl’s hair would have darkened with age, but when Emerie had seen her again, after all those years, Omega was just as fair as ever. It seemed right, in a way, a deviance that matched the brightness of her sister’s heart. 

Emerie had watched that light fade as the months passed, but she knew it still smoldered dangerously inside. This doll was a clear sign of that. If only she could convince Omega, for her own good, that this was the best place for her. That she could learn to be content here, like Emerie had. Omega simply needed time. Emerie could give her that, at least, and, perhaps, one other thing. 

When she finally opened the door and Omega refused to speak to her, Emerie understood. She set the doll on the step with a last, lingering look at the miserable shape on the bed. Be careful, little sister, she thought as she turned to leave. We're going to be okay.

Looks like season 3 might have a small time skip. Maybe in the middle of the season. We see Omega as she looked in season 2 but in another shot she has a different hair style and it's longer, straighter. Her face looks a tad bit older as well but not much. We really only see her head so I can't tell if she's taller or not. She's still very much a kid though.

I spent half the ep naively hoping they'd find a live clone in there 😭 also had super visceral reactions this ep which were 'BITCH'@ lama su, laughing at tech going 'fascinating' and mentally screeching at tech 'look up! look up!' the whole time he was alone

Instead of a live clone we get an ARM BEING CONSUMED. Truly it was like they knew we were hoping to see a survivor 😭

Tech was stressing me OUT this episode going off by himself this man needs supervision. Please God send him supervision. After the leg fracture I don't trust him to wander off anymore. When he went "Fascinating!" I literally went NO ITS NOT, MOVE at my screen like Tech if you get bit looking at the shiny cool research opportunity...

Lama Su 🙃🙃 I'm conflicted in seeing him because on one hand I find him extremely attractive and I love a bitch who shows up to be negative for no goddamn reason but also I hate him deeply. I love so many bitches in this show (my love for Cid for example is completely unaffected by her behaving poorly) and yet when Lama Su does anything I'm just. BOO HISS.

AND he's sending them after Omega I WILL THROW HIM OUT A WINDOW.
