Choose the notebook first and set your stats after that (for ease). The stats start at 10 percent and increase in steps of 10. Rounding up or down is up to you.

I think it's easier to fill in the "open questions" by saving the picture and just adding text on your device's picture app but I did add in letter options in case you don't want to do that lol.

Cut off the bottom part with the stat options list in your gallery too! It's just there as a reminder but you don't need to stick to it of course! <3

Sandra "Sadie" Knox / 5'2" / 34

Sandra Knox isn't her birth name, she got her first and last name separately from books she's read over the years.

Sadie is a scientist who worked as a courier and an overcharging con-artist repairman to save up caps to fund her research. She carries a notebook with her at all times, always scribbling down notes as it helps her think and process information.

Sadie is morally gray; a bit selfish and tunnel-visioned in her ways. Once Sadie has a goal, big or small, she’ll stop at nothing to achieve whatever it is. She has a unique way with words and can get you into trouble and out of it in the same sentence. This skill has saved her ass an insurmountable amount of times.

Due to her borderline extreme goal-contentedness, despite caring for those she loves and keeps close to her, she often comes off distant. Sadie has always had a rough time showing that she cares and her gestures can come off as awkward or forced. Her autism might be (is) partially to blame for this lol. Those willing to work past this awkwardness and allow her to adjust are rewarded with a ride or die friend for life.

She's got a reserve of pent-up rage. Though she can be quite irritable from minor conveniences [ex: she drops a pencil on the ground > emotional dysregulation from adhd rises > she's LIVID- ok she's fine now], she's not one to lash out at someone she loves. Her rage is kept internal and it weighs heavily on her shoulders.

Once speaking to Yes Man [before confronting Benny], she figures trying to get in on Benny's scheme is the opportunity she's been waiting for -- the prospect of a steady flow of caps excites her.

Oh and after her visit to BIG MT, she decides to help the Doctors by occasionally bringing them Mojave shit to research.

Binding of the technically-unpublished technically-unfinished Doctor Who novel, Time's Champion by Craig Hinton! This was a commission for a friend, and they've officially recieved it now so I can ramble about design choices. The book is a folio binding with rounded spine, which is something I've been working on learning for a bit now.

The book cover - obviously designed to look like Six's coat! I used this excellent blog post as a reference while tracking down all of the bits of colorful fabric I'd need, it was a lifesaver. There's a little cat charm on the ribbon, because of course there is, and (it's not really visible in any of the photos) hand-sewn headbands in black-and-yellow, to resemble the sleeves of that coat.

If the book itself is Six, then the case is the Valeyard! Because obviously, this book is all about the conflict between those two. The clamshell case was a last-minute addition, because I hadn't ever done one before and wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull it off. But I did, and it looks great - that's metallic silver HTV on the outside. 'Time's Champion' is on the spine using the WS Simple Gallifreyan font - I thought about using Sherman's, but it's a bit too circular. The writing around the front and back frame is in Assassin's Gallifreyan, aka the writing the Doctor uses in the serial The Deadly Assassin. It's the names of all of the gods of Gallifrey, who show up in the book itself - Time, Fate, Life, Pain, Hope, and Death - repeated over and over. The book fits snugly into the case, and I've got my fingers crossed that it managed to protect the book on the way over.

I kept the internal typeset simple - Alegreya typeface with Bernard MT Condensed chapter headings and highlights. These are the straightest margins I've ever cut in my life. I impressed myself.

Theory of love Episode 2: You belong with me

It's Love actually week, and I'm sorry but I can't watch this movie again. I have a vivid memory of watching it for the first time when I was 12 on cable and thinking that there was something deeply wrong about this particular storyline, not that the others are any better.

If my 12-year old self, the one that was very much into The Notebook, found something problematic, I don't want to relive that experience again, but some brave souls aka @lurkingshan and @solitaryandwandering did write about the film while giving it the ass whooping it rightly deserves. @bengiyo actually found some nice things to say about the film, which is a feat in itself.

Takeaways from Episode 2:

As happy as I am for Third that someone else knows about his unrequited love for Khai, Two's response kinda baffled me. Let me explain -- Third was ready to thrown in the towel, albiet half-heartedly, but Two encouraged him to go on and confess his feelings by saying that Khai's never been in love before and what if he's the one Khai was waiting for? That sounds real delulu, given the fact that Khai has never given them any indication to support this sentiment. The only way his words make any sense (for me) are looking at Two as coming from a heterosexual male perspective.

Khai is a not a bad friend. Third keeps setting himself up for failure. Remember when Third lets us know that Khai lets only his lovers sit on his bike and still asks Khai, if he could sit on it, only to get rejected? Yeah, Third suffering is self-inflicted. Khai has never given him any indication that he would ever see Third in an romantic light. There is no bread crumbing from Khai's side. The tragedy is that because Third is so caught up in his romantic feelings for Khai, he can't even appreciate the moments of genuine care Khai shows towards him. Case in point, Khai is aware that Third doesn't like to cry infront of him, so he pretends to not see it. I have more to say about Third's performative masculinity, but I'll probably save it for a later date.

Third has a reason to be afraid of his feelings disrupting their friendship. Third knows that his confession of romantic love wouldn't be received as such by Khai and he was quick to take the out Khai gave after the disastrous non-confession because that's what Khai did in his imaginary sequence of recreating You're my Mt. Everest scene -- Third confesses to Khai and imagines Khai using those words on Milk. Even in an made-up scenario in his head, he can't imagine his feelings being reciprocated.

I hope they get a personality transplant at some point, because never have I ever not shipped two people together to this extent in a bl before.

Hoshina stepped out like he was on a fashion runway, towel around his neck and sword on his back. “I came here to win. And roast marshmallows.”

Akane, wearing mirrored sunglasses and sipping instant coffee: “I came here to destroy Narumi’s pride.”

Gen Narumi descended from his transport with theme music blaring from a portable speaker.

Shinonome followed calmly, notebook in hand.

Hasegawa was already holding mosquito repellent like a weapon.

Narumi grinned. “Yo, Team Hoshina! Ready to lose in the woods?”

Hoshina smirked. “Better question: did you bring tissues for when you cry after we beat you?”

Akane: “And for your face after I rub it in the dirt.”

CHALLENGE ONE: OBSTACLE COURSE OF DOOM

Obstacles include:

- A pit labeled “Definitely Not Containing Kaiju Larvae (probably)”

Hoshina vs Narumi – Mud Wall

Narumi: parkour flips over it like he’s in a first-person shooter cutscene

Hoshina: scales it with a rope, slips, lands in mud, stands up with a grin

“Y’all ever try exfoliating the soul with dirt?”

Kafka gets stuck in the net bridge. Reno helps by shoving.

Kafka: “That’s not helping!”

Reno: “It’s helping me.”

Kafka tries to roast marshmallows. He sets one on fire. Then himself.

Reno panic-buckets him with river water.

Hoshina grills wild boar. It’s absurdly delicious.

Akane presents a mystery stew. Kikoru chokes. “What was in that?”

Akane shrugs. “Character development.”

CHALLENGE THREE: CAPTURE THE FLAG – NIGHT RAID EDITION

Rules: No transformations. No blade contact. Stealth, strategy, and traps allowed.

Narumi: “This is my game.”

Hoshina: “Oh, buddy, you just activated my hillbilly instincts.”

Highlights:

- Kafka gets stuck in a bush. Again.

- Reno uses his drone to blast Narumi’s eardrums with embarrassing audio clips from the hot springs.

- Akane leads a distraction op, drops fake Kaiju tracks, lures Shinonome into a pit of glitter.

- Hoshina sneaks into enemy base disguised in camouflage made of leaves and squirrel fur.

- He steals the flag while humming his sword theme song.

Final Score: Team Hoshina – 29, Team Narumi – 27

DAY THREE – DECLARATION CEREMONY

Mina: “Team Hoshina wins.”

Narumi: “This is sabotage.”

Akane: “No, this is karma.”

Kafka: “I still smell like marshmallows.”

Reno: “And failure.”

Hoshina: “Good game, Narumi. We’ll frame the flag next to your dignity.”

Narumi flips him off while Hasegawa apologizes with snacks.

POST-CAMP

Narumi sulks on the bus. “Next time, we bring Kaiju-proof tents. And earplugs.”

Hoshina texts a photo of him holding the flag and a bag of s’mores. Caption: Victory tastes like teamwork and burnt sugar.

Ask Game: Mt. Lady spots Izuku one day while she’s ending her patrol and he’s training. Feeling guilty over the Sludge Villain fiasco, she decides to go and apologize… and spots All Might just as he’s dropping his muscle form. After freaking out, she decides to help mentor the little guy (and/or get some pointers from All Might as well).

Takeyama had a pretty slow day, which is nice for getting some fan recognition, but not necessarily great for income. She's trying to decide on where she can go for a cheap beverage on the way home when she spots Midoriya. Before she can raise a hand to even wave, much less call out, mother fucking All Might drops in and shrivels up. It's a weird day.

After everyone stops panicking and Takeyama is sworn to secrecy about his whole injury thing, she remembers what she's here to do and sheepishly apologizes to Midoriya for not acting during the Sludge Villain attack. Midoriya rebuts this; she was the one who held people back and kept them safe and did a way better job than Death Arms did! And she didn't even chastise him! Before she can finish feeling damned by faint praise, he asks for her autograph, and shows her his entry about her.

Holy shit. That is a detailed entry, theorizing on the nature of her Quirk as some kind of spatial manipulation what? And he... likes her? For her work and not for her sex appeal? She ends up hanging around for the rest of Midoriya's training that day, and then pulls Yagi aside to ask about the notebook thing.

Using his All Might money, Yagi's able to set something up for Takeyama to try out some of Midoriya's theories... and they work. Holy shit. She's suddenly way more powerful than she was before and less destructive. This is the best.

Takeyama ends up spending more and more time with Yagi and Midoriya during this training, helping out where she can. One of the ways she helps out is by giving Midoriya impromptu lessons on Public Relations based on her own recent activities, and helping to work on his self confidence.

Snippet: Homeroom Miruko x Red Flag (Deus MHA AU) Part 7.1

Izuku PoV:

It all started after I had left the school grounds. I noticed that someone had peeked over the wall around the school building while retrieving my notebook (Hero Analysis No.13, with Mt. Lady as the latest addition) from the koi pond.

It could be just a coincidence, of course. There’s no reason as to why someone could be stalking me anyways. Not like I’ve let anyone know who my Momma is, not even Katsuki. He’d stop caring about me, but I only knew about it after she spelled it out to me and Mom how abusive “Kacchan” was after he beat me up when I tried to protect another child with others. (Mom had to step in to stop Momma from rushing out the door to shoot the Bakugou kid full of holes.)

But just in case, I began heading towards the shopping mall. All the while checking if… yep, there she is. Every time I stopped by a shop window to check the reflection (while seeing if they have any new hero merch), she was there. After I made 4 right turns in a row and just circled a block, she was still there. Not someone used to tailing someone then. (Granted, she never looked up from her phone the whole time, but her fingers weren’t moving and she wasn’t wearing earphones. Must be reliant on her Quirk or tech to keep track of him… focus Izuku, this is not the time!)

I need to find a secluded area to confront her. Need place with no alleyways, so there’s no chance of an ambush… Oh, there’s an underpass ahead. Great! No chance for overhead ambushes too, even better.

Taser in pocket, check. Pepper spray in bag side compartment, check. Balisong hidden in shoe, check. Alright, time to see what’s going on. I turned around, with my right hand in my pocket holding the taser and the left on my bag strap.

“Who are you and why are you following me?”
