When a traditional vanilla stodgy news show decides to interview some extremist for the ratings that they would never have on otherwise, there's always these moments where the extremist they're interviewing is like, "Okay right now, right here, I'm gonna say what I mean, and it's gonna be really incriminating and controversial," and the host is like "okay let's move on, we can talk about other things." It's like no motherfucker. Zoom. Enhance. You asked for this weird, stuttery, awkward interview between a normie and some psycho, you made your viewers watch this instead of an interview with literally anyone else, you OWE IT TO THE PEOPLE, when the psycho you invited for the interview starts spewing incriminating or embarrassing bullshit, to just shut the fuck up and record. You do not get to have a normal show anymore. Shit's going Springer up in here and the home audience gets to chomp popcorn to the tune of your despair.

To her credit, Stahl did ask Greene about some of her crazy past comments, such as referring to Democrats as “pedophiles.” Greene went on to rationalize the slur by explaining that “Sexualizing children is what pedophiles do to children.” This left Stahl essentially speechless—her comeback consisted of saying, “wow,” and then, “okay.” Mike Wallace, this was not. A better-equipped reporter (and let’s be clear, while Stahl was once a reporter, but at this point in her distinguished career, she is more of a TV news personality than a dogged muckraker) might have landed a coup de grâce here. One suspects that ex-Axios reporter Jonathan Swan would have lit MTG up as he did with Trump—asking devastating follow-ups, armed with receipts. Instead, the interview just sort of moved on without much meaningful combat. Someone watching at home could be forgiven for thinking that Stahl and Greene simply agreed to disagree.

Mark! I just turned 30 a few minutes ago! My birthday trivia request: in all of Magic's own 30 years, im sure it's gone places no one would have expected. If early mtg designers got a look into the future, at the game as it is presently, what aspect do you think would blow them away the most? (yourself included!)
sorry if this has been answered across interviews and such, i just got to thinking about what a wild ride its been since i got into the game (worldwake) and the ways that magic has changed alongside my own life
Probably double-faced cards.

remake bc post died again
Hi! My best friends Dakotah and their partner have been struggling ever since Dakotah was unfairly targeted and fired at her last job back in October. They have been asking for help to be able to secure funds for rent and bills.
She's been job searching for months now and has been mostly ignored with some unsuccessful interviews. She's got one offer at a store, but they haven't gotten back to her yet, and they are, unfortunately, only minimum wage at about 15 hours per week. Her partner is currently working, but he also only makes minimum wage.
I've been helping them with rent and bills as I can, but I am now also struggling financially and am unable to help as much as I have been. They are currently behind about 1 month on rent, but as of today (1/31/24), the company that owns our apartments are claiming they are behind 3 months which isn't true at all.
If you could reblog and/or donate to help them, that would be greatly appreciated. If you are also interested in MTG, she also has a shop online where she is selling her cards as well. Dakotah was homeless for 3 years before for being kicked out due to being queer, and I dont want her to go through that again or have her partner experience it either. Dakotah is willing to show her rent bills if you'd like that as proof as well.
Please help if you are able , and please, please reblog this. Every reblog helps tremendously. Thank you!

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) went on a bizarre tangent after she was called out for lying about her past comments suggesting the Parkland, Florida, school shooting was staged.
During an interview with CBS News’ Lesley Stahl broadcast Sunday on “60 Minutes,” Greene was asked for her stance on the 2018 massacre, which left 17 students and staff dead. Two years before she was elected to Congress, Greene responded to a comment on Facebook calling the shooting a “false flag” operation.
But when asked about it by Stahl, Greene tried to rewrite history.
“I never said Parkland was a false flag,” Greene said. “No, I’ve never said that. School shootings are horrible. I don’t think it’s anything to joke about.”
As she was speaking, “60 Minutes” showed a screengrab of Greene’s now-deleted 2018 Facebook comment.
“We fact-checked,” Stahl replied. “Before I got to this interview.”
Greene offered a word-salad comeback, derailing the discussion.
“Have you fact-checked all my statements from kindergarten through 12th grade and in college? And as I’ve paid my taxes and never broken a law, and the only, I got a few speeding tickets, do we need to talk about those too?” she said. “Because I think where you’re going down is the same attacks that people have attacked me with over and over.”
Stahl didn’t challenge Greene further.
Tumblr media
Greene, a Trump-supporting firebrand who was the first open supporter of the QAnon conspiracy theory to be elected to Congress, has on multiple occasions endorsed conspiratorial nonsense about school shootings and was filmed in 2019 harassing a Parkland victim who advocates for gun control.
In another 2018 Facebook comment section unearthed by the Media Matters for America watchdog, Greene responded “this is all true” to a user who said that “none of the School shootings were real or done by the ones who were supposedly arrested for them.”
Greene, during her “60 Minutes” interview, tried to shift blame for her past social media activity, suggesting that “other people also ran my social media” when she liked a 2019 comment suggesting Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) should get a bullet to the head. (Greene was not a member of Congress in 2019.)
Even if that were the case, Greene has publicly alluded to her belief that school shootings are staged. Last year, Greene suggested in a video that the July 4 shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, was orchestrated “to persuade Republicans to go along with more gun control.”
CBS News faced significant backlash over the weekend for interviewing Greene and giving a platform to her dangerous rhetoric. Following the release of the sit-down, Stahl was criticized for allowing Greene to hijack the conversation, failing to adequately call out the lawmaker’s false claims, and normalizing the extremist’s unhinged behavior.
“I have known Lesley Stahl for more than 40 years, worked alongside her for many election weeks. She has been a great journalist, but this is a disgraceful, cringeworthy performance. Shameful to the max,” tweeted Norman Ornstein, an emeritus scholar at the American Enterprise Institute.
“This is even worse than I thought it would be,” wrote The Atlantic staff writer Tom Nichols. “Imagine getting outflanked by MTG, whose answer was ‘what, are you going to go back to everything I’ve said and done since kindergarten’ and Stahl just took it.”

Fuck the nerve-wracking ordeal that is the interview to see if you still can get SSI.
Fuck the questions about whether or not I am in a committed relationship with anyone and introduce myself as 'married' or what have you even if I'm not legally married.
No I am not in a committed relationship but I deserve to be able to be in one if I meet somebody without it meaning becoming a complete burden on them and losing everything.
Fuck the questions about whether I own anything that may have value like a coin or card collection, bc no I don't but if I did still have my old MTG cards I still would deserve fucking SSI it's not like they were worth thousands or millions and when I had them it was to fucking play them.
Fuck the questions about whether or not I have received or expect to receive any cash/money from anyone including gifts from friends or family- like getting $20 from a friend at some point or $100 for a vet bill fundraiser for my fucking emotional support animals would CLEARLY mean I can afford to be dinged $10 off an upcoming payment or lose SSI entirely.
Fuck the questions about my completely by-the-fucking-book special needs trust that barely even has money left in it anyway, even at its fullest, before buying a house, it wouldn't have let me live off SSI for more than a year or two with how much my appts and meds would cost on top of having to rent a place to live if not buy one etc etc. They should be able to just look at their computer and be like "Oh hey this has been looked into before it's legit" because it's not like the filing and creation of the trust suddenly went through a time loop and shit changed, any more than I have been suddenly cured of my disability that I've had for 30+ years.
Fuck all these hoops and all the petty bureaucracy and rules that keep me living in constant fear of losing my safety net.

Many actors have mentioned how stressful and unnatural the audition process is. What many directors and casting directors do is to have informal meetings with people they are interested in. You can consider those meetings informal auditions. These meetings can reveal a lot more about the person than a formal audition. That's what Denis did with Austin for Dune 2
EXACTLY Anon 💯
A lot of these "meetings" these actors are going to are pretty much like a "job interview" basically. Negotiating, getting the vision of the project and what is being asked, etc. Like you said, they have a sit down mtg with the actor the director is interested in. 🤷🏾‍♀️
What do y'all think FFC was doing when Z was invited to Napa Valley for the weekend and she brought Tom and Darnell with her? 😅😅 He was obviously interested in her for a role in one of his projects.
For example, your interview for your first job is gonna be totally different from when you're interviewing for a CEO position and you have years upon years of experience.
It's the same in the acting world. 🤷🏾‍♀️
