5sos song recs!!! my favourite thing to talk abt!! i'll do my best to try and give you a bit of range here, instead of just listing all their albums. i will no doubt ramble far too much so i'll put a cut in here now-

okay so i'll start off by giving you the link to my 5sos spotify playlist, which has pretty much all of their songs, in rough chronological order!! it's just super handy for listening to instead of shuffling their discovery bc they have sooo many songs, and so many double ups and extra versions of songs etc. so this playlist keeps it nice and neat and easy.

basically, i would recommend every single song on that playlist. but. that is a lot to throw at you at once, so i'll break it into the different genres and vibes of their 5 albums, and pick maybe 3-5 songs from each, so you can get a taste test from every era?? (there's so many different ways i could break this up for you but i'll do it this way. it seems simpler. also pls feel free to dm anytime if u want to talk abt music or 5sos i would actually love that sm)

let's start with 5SOS5. i'm pretty sure you already know at least some of the songs (Bad Omens and Older, at least? from what i know anyway) so you've had a taste of the Amazing Vibes that this album offers!! there's a lot of different sounds packed into this long album, but i'll just throw a few songs at you, that maybe encompasses this era? hopefully ??? lets go with COMPLETE MESS, Best Friends, Red Line and Moodswings. also Emotions. and Bloodhound. (choosing only a few songs was the most painful experience of my life, i want to add so many more. i love this whole album SO MUCH. also, my personal favourite is HAZE <33. just adding that as yet another song rec here bc i literally cannot stop myself)

okay, now moving onto CALM!! this album is like, sonically a lot darker than the other albums,, i think? the vibes are very cool tho, i listen to this album so often. (im just going to assume that you have at least already heard Easier and Teeth, sorry if you haven't, but they're the great popular ones from this album <3) (i'm slowly but steadily realising as i type all this that i have no idea how many 5sos songs you actually know. yikes) OKAY SO to choose a few recs from this album, i'm gonna go with No Shame, Best Years, Lover Of Mine, Not In The Same Way, and (my personal fav!!) Kill My Time! this whole album is pretty damn awesome tho, so you really cant go wrong here.

moving on to Youngblood. i love this album so much, i listen to it literally all the fucking time bc the vibes are just so great. (Youngblood and CALM are easily in my top 5 comfort albums tbh. just some fun emma lore for you there <3.) so many songs on this album have probably the best guitar riffs ever, and the bass lines!!! ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! so amazing !!!! im also going to assume that you've heard the song Youngblood, so excluding that masterpiece, i'll pick some other Must Listen Songs: Want You Back, Lie To Me, Talk Fast, and Ghost Of You. but bc this album is so damn amazing, im also gonna give honourable mentions to Valentine, Why Won't You Love Me, and Babylon! (there are also three target exclusive specials, which aren't on spotify, but When You Walk Away is my fav from those extra three. they are all on youtube, the other two are here and here if u want to listen <3)

now, onto Sounds Good Feels Good!! this album serves some pretty great pop punk vibes, so if that's your kind of genre then you'll totally love it! some songs recs for you: Jet Black Heart, Waste The Night, Castaway, San Francisco, and - what is arguably the best song off this album - Outer Space / Carry On! i love this album to pieces, for the lyrics and the sound of it all, it really is such a special record. i really hope you like it <3 (also quick shout out to The Space Between A Rock And A Hard Place, from the B-Sides EP. long ass title, i know, but i really love this song)

okay, time for their debut album, 5 Seconds Of Summer! i'm sure you've heard of She Looks So Perfect already, so skipping that, here's some songs for you- Never Be, Everything I Didn't Say, Long Way Home, End Up Here, and Close As Strangers. i do love so many songs from this album, (and the B-Sides EP), but tbh there are some songs that i just can't listen to. the lyrics that teenage boys write can be...interesting at best, sometimes. so anyways. those songs aren't on my playlist RIP.

now that we've been through all their studio albums, i think it's time for some other shout outs. starting from the early days and moving forward - there's their first EP that they released, Somewhere New, where you can get an earful of their strong aussie accents LOL. another shoutout goes to Disconnected, one of my all time fav 5sos songs. the biggest shoutout i have goes to the Meet You There Tour Live album, which is from their 2018 tour, and has a great mix of songs from Youngblood and earlier. (i personally love 5sos's live shows, it brings their songs to a whole other level. but it's not everyone's cup of tea so i would try out their studio albums first to get a taste for their music before diving into the live versions). my final shoutout goes to 2011, the song that they made for their 10 year anniversary! im not sure if u know it already, but it's pretty much the perfect blend of all their eras, put into one amazing song. i love it endlessly <3

this time, the anon hate was consistent. every week was something new. every day felt like bracing myself to open my inbox. i kept anon on, since i have so many people who feel uncomfortable sending asks off anon and didn't want to take away their safe space.

months pass. i go on hiatus for all of July. i find out someone stole my old nsfw art and reposted their edited versions of it to rule34, a site that i never wanted my work to be on. this person waited until the exact starting day of my hiatus to do this.

i come back to more anon hate in my inbox.

suddenly, out of nowhere, my account is terminated again.

i make a new blog. more anon hate. another termination.

lather, rinse, repeat.

i stopped doing DM only stuff. i figured, if i just link my other platforms and only post safe things on Tumblr, there's nothing in the rules against that. everyone has links to their social media.

i still get terminated. and again, i keep getting terminated after i post my pinned post in the whump tags. which -- speculation again -- leads me and others to think that these antis are stalking the whump tags, waiting for me to show up so they can mass report me and get me terminated.

i have NO idea what they would report, aside from claiming i'm trying to "dodge being blocked". which, i'm not. in fact, i say every single time i come back that i WANT people to block me if they need to.

but regardless, it keeps happening.

i'm losing a place i considered home.

i'm being forced out of a community on here i love so dearly.

and you want to know something funny? for some strange reason, i'm unable to block my anons. yup. an 'error' message comes up. and i'm apparently unable to report them too -- like reporting the one who called me a 'tumblr tranny' and said i would 'always be a woman' for hate speech. oops, sorry. error message.

by now, i've been called evil. told to listen to my intrusive thoughts. told that i should be on a watch list. told that it's disgusting that someone's mutuals still interact with me. told that i have no place in the whump community.

i know that's not true.

i'm so sick and tired of being treated like this. i'm tired of being dehumanized. and i'm disgusted with this behavior.

at this point, i'm just screaming as many times as i can. i'll keep losing blogs, because i know my attackers will read this and just keep on reporting me. what do they have to lose? nothing. they don't have enough of a conscience to care. and why should they? clearly, i'm a monster. i'm a piece of shit. i don't deserve basic respect, and i apparently don't deserve to keep my 'platform'. to stay in my community and to keep my livelihood.

my discord is emmettnet. send me a DM if you don't want to lose me, because there is no point in following me repeatedly just for every blog to be terminated.

Target Practice [Drabble]

Pairing: Benedict Bridgerton x fem!reader

Summary: Benedict teaches his wife how to handle a rifle...

Warnings: Mostly fluff, a couple of suggestive moments, and one explicit line of dialogue. Married couple teasing each other.

Author's Note: This is a request fill from DM chat with a lovely mutual who wishes to remain anonymous. They wanted to see a similar teaching scene to the infamous Kanthony gun moment... but with Benedict and his wife. Sorry it's taken so long to write this and that it's so short, but I hope you still enjoy <3 This is set in the Innocence universe.

“Concentrate,” he murmurs, each syllable elongated, the tone teasing and resonant.

You purse your lips and shoot him a sideways glance, feeling his heated breath dusting your cheekbone.

“Maybe it would be easier if you weren’t crowding me out, husband,” you point out with more than a hint of snark.

Benedict lets out a quiet chuckle.

“I’m merely trying to provide ample instruction, my love,” his voice tinged with amusement as a gust of wind makes the trees surrounding you rustle slightly, whipping the points of his cravat up to tickle your neck.

You hum, sceptical of that assessment. He seems to be doing his darndest to distract you as much as assist you.

“Here, hold it… like this,” his arm snakes around your back and his long, warm, agile fingers curl around yours on the barrel of the rifle. 

“You are just doing this in sport now, aren’t you?” you pout.

“Not in the slightest,” he lilts, “you just have to be the very best at everything, don’t you? So here we are.”

You almost hate how accurately he can sum you up with such an economy of words.

“Now look down the barrel of the gun along the aim line; line up your target with that v-shaped notch and fire at will,” he tutors softly, his lips brushing the shell of your ear.

You take a calming breath and line up your aim with the empty wine bottle he has placed on the old stone ruin in the forest, some distance away.

He is silent as you cock the trigger, but just as your trigger finger moves to fire, he leans right in and rumbles right in your ear.

“I love seeing you handle my weapon.”

The gun fires loudly and ricochets you backwards. 

And… you miss—by a country mile.

Your whole body instinctively reacting to that bedroom voice he can affect whenever he wants to rile you.

“Not fair!” you huff loud and indignant. “I call shenanigans! I demand a redo!”

“All is fair in love and war, my darling,” he chuckles, already turned away to load and prepare his gun for the same shot.

“That was not done out of love,” you counter, brushing a stray hair from your face, “but it was a declaration of war, Mr Bridgerton.”

He guffaws louder. “Do your worst, my darling. I was a crack shot at Eton, and I'm still not bad now,” he simpers, the confidence oozing from him both attractive and galling. 

He really needs to be taken down a peg or two.

To be fair, he looks an innate natural with his rifle as he checks the barrel and lines up for his shot, his hold one of practised ease and years of tutelage. You’re almost annoyed at how good he looks, just how damn attractive he looks—his tan britches and blue overcoat straining in all the right places over his muscular outline. Damn him.

“Now darling, once I’m done tutoring you, maybe you will be this good,” he states airily, shooting you a crooked, sideways grin without taking his eyes off the target.

So you deploy the one weapon you have in your arsenal that obliterates him—every time.

Just as you see his trigger finger squeeze, you lean in and slide a hand heavily over the front of his trousers.

“I am so wet for you right now….” you exhale, biting his earlobe, breathing hot and heavy into his ear.

The gun fires…. And he has missed by a mile too.

He swings his head to look at you, mouth hanging open in disbelief as you simply tilt your head and raise your eyebrow.

“What? You did it to me,” you shrug.

“You brazen little minx,” he growls, and its equal parts impressed and annoyed.

“Husband, you told me, on our wedding night, if I recall, if I were ever in such a circumstance that I should tell you right away,” you continue in that smug tone. “I am merely abiding by your ‘ample instruction’,” you volley, echoing his own words right back at him as it's his turn to quirk an eyebrow.

You squeal as he tackles you to the ground. And there is no more shooting for a while… at least not with rifles.
