every lifetime with you ꨄ oscar piastri
Tumblr media
oscar piastri x leclerc!f!reader
part 2 to but mama, i love him
warnings: charles is kind of ignorant (in a jerk big brother way), oscar is so disgustingly in love (aka tooth-rotting) [wc: 2.1k]
the one where oscar finally faces family dinner with the leclerc's... and it goes exactly how everyone expected. (oscar just really loves his girlfriend, and really doesn't care what her brother's say about it).
Tumblr media
Sunday night dinners, when everyone was able to attend, were a staple in the Leclerc family home. Even as a young girl, one thing you always remembered was Pascale ensuring everyone promised to be home in time for dinner on Sunday. And of course, no one wanted to disappoint Maman.
Things had, of course, changed as Charles’ and Arthur’s involvement in motorsports grew, as Lorenzo became more involved in his own line of work. But you always put the effort in to make your way back to your childhood home, even if it was just Maman and yourself.
When Oscar slowly started integrating himself into your life, Pascale was the first person to find out; interrogating you over Sunday night dinner, learning everything she could about the young Australian who had taken over her only daughter’s heart. She always encouraged you to invite him to Sunday dinner, insisting that the boys would be on their best behaviour, and there would be no blood or tears shed - from anyone.
Which was exactly how you found yourself here, Oscar staring out at your childhood home, his hands steady with a tight grip on the steering wheel in front of him.
“Maman would not be too happy if you brought the steering wheel in with you. She doesn’t enjoy car talk on Sunday’s, mon amour,” you said, tapping one of his tense hands with a finger.
Unlacing his fingers from around the wheel, Oscar turned towards you with a timid smile.
“You see Charles weekly; you practically grew up alongside Artie. It’ll be fine, Osc.”
Shaking his head immediately, “I’m not concerned about your brothers. They don’t scare me.”
Quirking an eyebrow at him, your only response was a shrug of your shoulders as you pulled yourself up and out of the car. Following your lead, the two of you walked up the driveway, passing your brother’s cars in the process. Pushing open the front door, you were instantly greeted by the variety of smells that could usually be contributed to Sunday dinner, the aroma invading your nostrils and prompting a smile to pull across your lips.
Pascale Leclerc’s face greeted you the moment you turned the corner into the foyer, a happy grin across her lit up cheeks.
“Oh, mon bébé! Regarde comme tu es belle,” she said, wrapping her arms around you tightly. (Oh, my baby! Look at how beautiful you are.)
Eagerly wrapping your own arms around her, you inhaled her comforting scent, happy to be home and in the arms of the most important person in your life since birth.
Turning towards Oscar, the large smile on Pascale’s face did not waver. “Oscar, hello! It is so lovely to finally meet you.”
The moment of hesitation on Oscar’s part meant Pascale had already wrapped her arms around him before he could even blink, pressing a kiss to each cheek and then pulling back with a smile.
“Lovely to meet you as well, Mrs. Leclerc. Thank you for inviting me to dinner,” Oscar said.
Pascale waved him off, loud voices filtering into the foyer as the three Leclerc boys made their presence known.
“Regarde ce que le chat traînait,” Arthur said, his eyes pinning onto Oscar’s frame. (Look what the cat dragged in).
“Non, we will not be speaking French tonight. You know the rules. Do not be rude, Arthur,” Pascale admonished, sending a glare to her youngest son.
“What do the English say? Execution by fire? Best way for Oscar to learn, non?” Charles said, looking towards his brothers for confirmation.
Snorting at his words, “No, you idiot. It’s baptism by fire. Don’t be a jerk, Cha.”
His eyes swiveled over to meet yours, a mock glare present on his face. “Oh, I’m so sorry. My apologies, perhaps if I’d be able to speak French, I’d be able to use the actual sayings.”
Pascale’s glare whipped towards her middle son, her hand gently tapping on Oscar’s shoulder as she directed him towards the dining room.
“Charles Marc Hervé, I’d encourage you to watch your tone. Your ignorance is not appreciated, I’m sure your sister has already begun teaching Oscar French, you of all people should know it is not easy to learn a new language as a young man. Do not be rude.”
Almost immediately, the scolding evidently struck a chord in Charles, his cheeks brightening as he mumbled out an apology.
“Certaines choses ne changent jamais, hm, Charles?” you whispered in his direction, sticking your tongue out at him. (Some things never change, hm, Charles?)
“Ma petite fleur, don’t antagonize your brother.” Sticking his tongue back out at you in response, Charles skirted away as you moved your hand to smack his shoulder.
The table had been set like all previous Sundays before that, the only difference being the extra setup beside you, cutlery and plates laid out for the Australian’s benefit.
“Is there anything I can help with, Mrs. Leclerc?” Oscar said, ignoring Arthur as he silently imitated him, a grin falling onto your brother’s cheeks as he plopped down in his unofficial seat.
“Just Pascale, s’il vous plaît. And non, Alexandra and Charlotte kindly helped with everything already. You are too kind to offer, Oscar,” she responded, a large smile overtaking her lips.
“You are too kind to offer, Oscar.”
“Don’t be rude, Artie. Maman can still take you out of this world, right, Maman?”
Nodding her head in agreement, Pascale whacked the man in question over the head with a tea towel. Placing the final dish of food on the table, the matriarch of the Leclerc family gestured for everyone to sit, all remaining members of the room taking their seats.
The usual pre-dinner rituals were conducted, Oscar politely engaging in all of them to the best of his ability.
As the chatter began to pick up around the table, you could feel your anxiety spike every time your eyes wandered over to one of your brothers. For the fact two of them had driven alongside your brother more than once, all three eyed him up every opportunity they could.
“So, shall we discuss the elephant in the room?”
“Is it the toxic smell of your cologne, Cha? I’ve been wanting to talk about it for years,” you quipped.
Lorenzo stifled a snort at your words, shoving a spoonful of food into his mouth as he eyed the both of you.
“Shut up, you know what I mean. Oscar, what are your intentions? Is this some secret McLaren sabotage thing?”
You couldn’t tell if Charles was serious, your eyes widening as you scrambled for what to say in response.
“Not everything’s about racing, mate. I could care less about McLaren or Ferrari or whatever, when I’m with your sister. There’s more to life, evidently,” shrugging at his own words, Oscar continued to shovel food into his mouth.
You could barely contain the internal swooning at his words, your hand gently squeezing Oscar’s thigh as you smiled at him in response. Lightly squeezing your hand back, both of you looked up at the sound of a groan from across the table.
“This is going to make me throw up, truly. Maman, please let me speak French to articulate how disgusted I am at this,” Arthur mockingly gagged, his eyes pleading for his mother to accept his request.
Pascale ignored her youngest son’s dramatics, turning her head in Oscar’s direction instead.
“Oscar, dear… I’ve heard the story of how you and my daughter began dating from her view, I must hear it from yours as well. It’s such a lovely story,” Pascale practically cooed, prompting instant eye rolls from all her children sitting around the table.
“Yes, Oscar. Tell us all how you corrupted our sister. Please.”
The urge to hit both Arthur and Charles grew with every little quip and comment they felt necessary to make. Before you even had the opportunity to retaliate, you saw Charles wince, his head swiveling towards his girlfriend in dismay.
“Enough, mon amour. Tonight is not about you,” she said, a smile being directed towards you after the fact.
The Australian beside you cleared his throat before he began, gently squeezing your knee in the process.
“I’m sure she tells it far better than I do, but I can give it a whirl. Racing with Arthur for so long, I think we knew of each other but didn’t really… know each other? Obviously, we had run into each other at different racing events throughout the years and exchanged polite small talk, but it wasn’t really until the Monaco Grand Prix last year where we really had the opportunity to get to know each other.”
Oscar was quick to shovel more food into his mouth before continuing his story.
“I was trying to avoid all the interviewers and Sky Sports presenters on the Grid and ended up running right into her. All I knew is one second, I was running, next second I had barreled someone over and was holding their head from smacking against the concrete,” you could hear Alex and Charlotte cooing out soft ‘aw’s’ from their side of the table at his words.
“Thank those quick driver reflexes, hm?” Arthur joked. Multiple heads around the table nodded in response.
“I guess it sort of went from there. She, of course, had to give me a hard time for trying to ‘kill her’ as she so kindly says all the time. I offered to make it up to her... we ended up going for dinner after the race, and I suppose the rest is history. Thank God for Monaco, of course.”
“Oh, so you’re the reason my sister didn’t attend family dinner after I got knocked down for supposedly impeding your teammate?” Charles quipped.
Huffing towards your brother, before you even got the chance to snap at him, you were cut off.
“Charles, shut up. We didn’t have family dinner after Monaco, you were miserable and I’m pretty sure you said some very nasty things to our family group chat which almost had Maman in tears. We didn’t have family dinner for weeks after that, so shut up, and let Oscar finish his story. Merde,” Lorenzo said, shooting a glare towards his youngest brother.
Oscar looked towards you, silently questioning whether he should continue or not. Squeezing his knee in confirmation again, the Australian continued.
“She ended up coming to visit me during summer break, and things became official from there. It’s been the best seven months of my life, I couldn’t imagine my life without that day in Monaco, now,” he looked towards you as he finished his story, a soft smile on his lips as you looked back at him adoringly.
“I’d let you run me over in every lifetime, mon amour.”
The two of you were caught in your own little world, your eyes locked on one another’s, small smiles gracing both of your lips. Missing the small look between your mother and brothers, Charles begrudgingly accepting defeat, Arthur eager to find some way to make a joke at the expense of both of you, Lorenzo simply content to see his baby sister happy.
Maman, though... the sheer delight was evident in her eyes, a small sheen covering them and her lash line as she watched the two of you silently interact.
The night continued, the honeymoon phase between you and Oscar so obvious, so prominent. He took advantage of any chance he could get to press a kiss to your head, to your head, to your cheeks, and especially to your lips. All respectfully, of course, but he couldn’t take his eyes or hands off you.
Charles took his chance to corner the younger driver, threatening a world of hurt and sabotage if anything were to ever happen to you, physically or emotionally. Oscar’s nonchalant response of “Yes, alright mate. Whatever you say, of course,” further antagonized your brother.
It was Maman’s acceptance that Oscar was most concerned about though, eagerly asking you once the two of you were back in his car, whether you thought she liked him. You were positive the answer was a resounding yes, especially after watching Pascale squeeze him tightly in a hug, pressing a kiss to each cheek again – and then proceeding to whisper in your ear how happy she was that you had found a man who loved you so incredibly much.
Later that night, when both of you were curled up in bed, your legs intertwined, and your head pressed against his chest, his heart beating below your ear... you knew. There was no place you would rather be. No person you would rather be in love with or loved by.
“In every lifetime, Osc, I want to be the person you’re in love with. Promise me that I will be?”
“I already promised you every lifetime, mon amour. I will choose you, always.”
Tumblr media
sorry but oscar is absolutely the one guy on the grid who loves his girlfriend so much and would probably actually die for her... so he's a total simp and would take on all three of the leclerc brother's for lerclerc!reader.

End Up Together - A.H.
Tumblr media
You love Aaron, Aaron loves you. But you don't talk about it. Oh, you'd never. Until your mom says a thing, and feelings finally tide over.
A/N: a whole lot of unspoken/suppressed feelings, years of restraint culminating into...something, Aaron taking a chance, reader feeling conflicted, angst, so much pining.
Word count: 3.5k
The steering wheel is warm beneath your fingers, sticky even, from sweat and sunscreen and general car-grime that has accumulated in your old Nissan Altima over the years, complemented by faded, worn-out seat covers and the stubborn Black Vanilla Little Tree hanging from the rearview mirror. It’s pointless, really—its scent has faded into oblivion by now—but it clings there like a badge of honor, a relic from the past. This car has stood the test of time—your first car and you’re preferential to firsts, even if they’re a little stuffy inside.
First taste of ice cream (Jo’s Caramel Cookie Crumble), first time out of state (Sarasota, 1992) and your first ever love letter—to Craig Sullivan, devastatingly.
However lyrically—? A work of art.
“I can’t believe she said that, you know.”
Aaron’s crammed in the passenger seat, knees squished against the glove department and nightly shadows swallowed by jet black hair, but if you looked at him, really looked, you know you’d see the street lights reflecting in his eyes—bright, sparkling, taunting.
If.
You’re not sure you can ever look at him again.
___________
Such a beautiful ring, my dear.
It’s funny though, how life works. I always thought you two would—
___________
“She didn’t mean it.”
Right. Of course not.
Your jaw ticks, eyes drifting from the barely visible road to your phone. 0.3 miles until the next turn, left on Hill Drive, then another left and you’ll be straight on the I-95 to Washington.
ETA: 00:06 AM. 37 minutes to go.
“I don’t care if she meant it,” you say through your teeth, gripping the steering wheel tightly. “She can’t just—“
Say what you’ve never had the courage to say? What you never dared to even think about?
Aaron and you. You and Aaron. Like a pendulum, two poles forever divided, but always connected. By something.
You remember being small, innocent, playing fetch with your neighbors’ son—Sean, not Aaron—because Aaron was always busy fixing your mother’s house or mowing the lawn for some extra cash—to get the fuck out of Manassas—and when he did, he left you, too.
You were only eight, but still. Sean was four, and practically lived at your house instead of next door. You never thought of it as particularly neglectful on anyone’s part—you just liked having a little brother to torment.
And before you were old enough to even grasp the meaning of love, Aaron was head over heels for Haley, blushing furiously whenever your mother mentioned the theatre club, when she teased him about being the worst fourth pirate in The Pirates of Penzance to date, and yet—and yet, maybe you liked Haley even more than Aaron.
She was the big sister you never had, but always wanted—and while Aaron threatened to punch Craig Sullivan for cheating on you with a girl from Eastwood High, in a god-darn tree of all places, Haley was the one who actually helped you through senior year.
Checking in on you from GWU campus, revising countless applications essays—she even took you dress shopping for prom, which you attended with Craig’s best friend.
Better to go out with a bang, right?
And it’s not like you thought about Aaron in any sort of way—ever—at least not until you really grew up and started to subconsciously compare any guy you met to Aaron and any of your relationships to his marriage.
A marriage that is now over—your once so highly esteemed picture-perfect image of partnership, of love, festered into something else entirely by the force of responsibility, by careless negligence and scathing loneliness.
Priorities, for short.
But it’s weird, right?
The man who chose his job over his own wife and son countless times—which you condemn, of course—flies in from Wisconsin the moment your mother calls from the hospital?
It makes you wonder, would he do the same for you? You know you would. Any day, even at three in the morning, without hesitation.
“I’ve been engaged for two months,” you point out finally, the words grating on your throat, “even as a joke, it’s not fair to Nathan.”
And although it’s not your truth per say, somewhere in this universe, in a dimension where you’re more worried about your fiancé than your ever emotionally unavailable childhood best friend, it’s a truth, at least.
You thought your mom liked Nathan; his happy-go-luckiness, the quirky glasses, always coming through with some sort of historical fact or grammatical pun.
He’s a teacher—a fun teacher. Reliable. Nice.
A real sweetheart.
Everything you should ever want. Everything you do want.
“You keep saying that like it’s already over.”
From the corner of your eye, you catch Aaron’s hand landing on his thigh, the way he shifts in the passenger seat—and your chest constricts.
“What do you mean?”
He doesn't even hesitate.
“It’s always ‘I’ve been engaged’ or ‘I got engaged’. Past tense, like you’re detaching yourself from the reality of ‘I am engaged’ or ‘I’m getting married’.” Aaron’s voice is quiet, a low, steady rumble that is void of any real affliction, like he’s solving a case.
Like he’s solving you.
“Really, Aaron?" you ask, unimpressed, but there's a subdued sharpness to your tone. "My mom just had a heart attack and you’re profiling me?”
Aaron mumbles, “Costochondritis,” as if that matters at all—as if you didn’t get a phone call sixteen hours ago and drove 180 miles to D.C. under the impression that your mother did have a heart attack.
And you haven’t been able to get it out of your head; the image of your mother, the strongest woman you know, in a hospital gown, talking with a slight voice and shaky fingers, her face pale and drained in a moment she thought could have been her last—and the one thing she chooses to tell you isn’t I love you, kid or I’m proud of you. No, it’s:
I always thought you two would end up together.
It makes sense, the both of you.
Like that’s at all an okay thing to say to your engaged daughter and in-the-midst-of-his-divorce surrogate son. And Haley, god, she loves your mom. She and Aaron chose you as Jack’s godmother—that way you’re officially part of our family, isn’t that beautiful?—and if it wasn’t for her being the second half to in-the-midst-of-Aaron’s-divorce, you would’ve asked her to be your maid of honor. Hell, you still might.
“Why does it bother you so much?”
You cast a squinting look at Aaron in the passenger seat, just for a moment.
Is he being serious?
“For a plethora of reasons,” you reply gravelly, trying to keep your voice level, “Nate. Haley. The fact that it’s absolutely absurd.”
You scoff sharply, fingers tightening around the steering wheel as you relive the scene.
Because that’s the problem, isn’t it? The way Aaron didn’t flinch when she said it—not even the bat of an eye. No surprise on his features, no denial.
As if he’s had the thought before, maybe even the conversation.
And that, the simple idea of it slowly ships away at your resolve, clawing straight into your chest, where a quiet, stickling truth resides, always there, hiding, lingering—the one you’ve never wanted to face—and never had the chance to.
“The question is,” you continue, signaling left to turn on Hill Drive, although it’s not like there’s any other vehicle around at this time of night, “why doesn’t it bother you?”
The moment it’s out, you regret it. Deflection means there’s more to the truth.
You remember the first time he said that to you, in his brand new prosecutor’s office, back when the USAO building was just a couple blocks from the National Gallery on 6th street, and you had just come back from taking a stroll to enjoy the architecture—or, more accurately: call Craig Sullivan from a payphone down the street.
You were sixteen, for god’s sake.
“Maybe because she’s not entirely wrong.”
Something in you snaps, shatters—and the world turns upside down. Your world, carefully constructed to hold everything together, to reconcile this feeling with that feeling, to keep everything neatly compartmentalized, safe, unchallenged.
Aaron and Haley. Haley and Aaron.
You and…someone else.
That’s how it’s always been.
Craig from high school, Jordan from college, then no one for a while—and now Nate, anchoring you to a reality where things are clear-cut, where your engagement means certainty, where Aaron is just Aaron, the brother-like figure, the best friend who has always been there although for you, at times, it’s not been quite enough.
But you never thought—
—yet here you are now, in your first car with the signature Black Vanilla Little Tree, and Aaron isn’t denying your mother’s words. He isn’t scrambling to explain them away. He’s just… accepting them, as though they’re not absurd at all.
“You’re joking,” you balk, but it’s not as sharp as you intended. Your voice wavers, thoughts whirring, desperately trying to keep this, whatever it is, at bay.
Aaron exhales slowly, hands pressing into his thigh. “Not like that,” he says, and it’s tired, weary, like he has had this conversation before—but not with you. Never with you.
With who, then? Your own mother? Sean? Haley?
Betrayal weighs on your chest, leaving a bitter taste on your tongue. How dare he?
“Then what is it like?” You don’t mean to sound defensive, but you are. Defending everything you’ve ever thought to understand about him, about yourself. About boundaries, unspoken, but always there.
Heat sizzles beneath your skin, anger bubbling in your veins. Your right foot steps on the throttle as Hill Drive stretches ahead, empty and dark, giving you nothing to distract yourself from the growing heaviness in your chest.
“Please enlighten me, Aaron,” you snap, wondering if this is him finally reacting to Haley filing for divorce. Maybe he’s overcompensating, prodding at the stability of your relationship, testing the vigor of your choices because he regrets his own.
Maybe it’s the broken home he’s from—alcoholic father, a passive mother—and he just can’t bear to be happy, to see anyone else happy.
You know that’s unfair. But he isn’t being exactly fair either.
“Why do you think Nate’s wrong for me?”
“I don’t,” Aaron says quickly, decisively, and you feel the slightest bit appeased. Until he adds, “But maybe different things can be true at the same time.”
You blink in confusion, frozen as your chest slowly fills with dread. Your eyes drop to the TomTom, the new-tech navigation device Aaron got you for Christmas three years ago.
Philadelphia’s a big city. I don’t want you to get lost.
But isn’t that exactly what you are?
Living somewhere between a fantasy and a delusion, balancing it out with careful calculations to not feel too out of control. Because what you do is what you feel, right?
Daily runs equals 10,000 steps equals feeling healthy. A busy calendar equals productivity equals feeling purposeful. And Nate checking a lot of your boxes? A steady foundation equals a happy relationship.
It’s a logic you thought Aaron could appreciate, at the very least.
31 minutes to go.
You hum quietly, carefully, like you’re bracing yourself for impact, a revelation, perhaps. A tipping point.
“What is that supposed to mean?”
Your eyes stay on the road, grip tight around the steering wheel as your pulse kicks up. This isn’t happening. This conversation isn’t happening.
“That it’s…crossed my mind,” Aaron’s voice is gentle, the familiar rumble of syllables and words, hushed, like he’s running out of time, always. But for you, he makes time, he makes room. It’s music to your ears on any given day, and right now, if it weren’t for the adrenaline coursing through your body, you probably would have asked him to tell you again and again and again.
Because he says it so simply, like it’s just another fact about the world—as if it doesn’t unravel something buried deep inside you, something you’ve never had the nerve to examine or admit, not even to yourself. A threat to the foundation you’ve so carefully laid.
“Aaron—” you choke out, pleading, asking him to stop, to repeat. You don’t even know anymore.
The time on the TomTom drops from 31 to 30 minutes, and it’s the longest sixty seconds you’ve ever endured.
Waiting for Aaron to say something, to do something, laugh it off, tell you it was just a joke, a test, anything that doesn’t mean what you think it means. But he doesn’t laugh. He doesn’t take it back. And for a moment, just one second, you allow yourself to imagine it—
Coming home from a long day at work, tired and exhausted, to a wall of warmth and Aaron’s favorite freshly cooked pasta—the one your mom always makes with lentils—and he’d greet you with a hug and a smile. Then you’d have dinner, talking about work and how Jack’s doing, maybe you’d be thinking about buying a house, about building a life together.
You’d drive to Manassas on the weekend to visit your mom and she’d finally have something nice to say about your partner.
You’d bicker about something stupid on the way home, like you always do, and he’d kiss it better later in the night, knowing just how much you could take, how much you wanted it, needed him—
“No.”
It’s sharp, panicked, cutting through the air like a blade, like a door slamming shut before something dangerous can slip through. Something you’ve kept under lock and key for a long part of your life.
In front of you, the windshield blurs for a moment, but you blink hard, force yourself to focus. And then the anger comes back, red hot in your veins.
“No,” you repeat, lower now, and your head shakes, “you don’t get to do this.” Your voice is thick with emotion, uneven, like the ground is shifting beneath you and you’re trying to stay upright. “Haley’s my friend. I’m getting married.”
“I know,” Aaron nods once, slow, measured, like it’s another fact he’s just…accepted. But his voice is strained, frayed at the edges, like he’s at war with himself, but about to give up.
Frustration rises in your throat, bristling against something dangerously close to fear—maybe a dooming realization that Aaron feels it too, that you might not be alone in this, maybe haven’t been for a while.
It makes everything worse.
“This isn’t fair,” you say, voice clipped. It’s not fair to Haley or Nathan or you, after all these years of keeping your mouth shut, after all the times you bit your tongue, forced a smile, tucked emotions away like secrets. When you sat across from your boyfriends and thought—Aaron wouldn’t say it like that. Aaron would know better. Aaron would understand.
Every moment you had to remind herself that wanting more would never be an option.
“I’m just trying to be honest.“
Now that—
That does it.
There’s a beat of silence—deafening, devastating silence. You glance at the rearview mirror, and before you can think about it, you slam the brakes. Aaron jerks forward in the passenger seat, caught by the seat belt. His right hand snaps to the dashboard to steady himself.
“What are you—” Aaron starts, but you don’t let him.
The moment the car stills, you stare at him, eyes wide, streetlights flashing through the windshield, casting fractured streaks of gold and shadow across his face, and for once—he looks caught off guard. But you’re too angry to revel in it.
“Honest? You want honesty?”
The heat behind your words builds fast, sharp and unforgiving, spilling out before you can stop it. “I have been watching from the sidelines for years, Aaron. I was happy for you, for Haley and I never said a thing because it would have ruined the life of everyone I love.”
Your voice is rough, edged with something close to regret—not for holding back, but for never getting the chance not to. You shake your head slightly, swallowing hard, forcing down the ache rising in your throat before locking your gaze on him.
“And you throw this at me now? When it’s finally my turn? When I finally found someone who—”
You stop short, words catching like a lump in your throat.
Someone who ticks all the boxes? Someone so opposite that you couldn’t possibly compare him to Aaron?
This is a farce. A cruel joke you’ve played on yourself for years—pretending you don’t care, convincing yourself that holding back was a choice and not survival. That your careful decisions, your curated relationships, your picture-perfect stability meant you’d won.
But the truth is, you’ve been fighting against this from the very beginning—against him, against whatever this is. And what’s worse?
It makes sense, the both of you.
Ultimately, it’s the truth. You know it is.
Aaron’s jaw shifts, slow, deliberate. His gaze flickers toward you, unreadable—but not indifferent. Never indifferent.
“Your turn?” There’s something careful in his voice, calculated, knowing. The weight of his words settle between you, thick and suffocating, pressing into the space where something shouldn’t be—but is.
Always has been, maybe.
“Are you getting married to prove something?”
Your stomach twists, brows pulling together in something that feels like being caught, ensnared in your own web of divisions and self-preserving lies, and for what?
A sense of control? A lifeline for something simpler, something less...impossible?
“That’s not—” you exhale sharply, leaning back in the seat, your head falling against the headrest as you try to keep it together, scrambling to hold onto the reality you’ve built over the last three years, the one that was supposed to protect you, to help you move on.
Because you had to, after Haley announced that she was pregnant. It was the last straw, undeniable proof that Aaron belonged somewhere else—that there was no space for whatever you had convinced yourself wasn’t real.
So you did what anyone desperate to move on would do.
You left Washington. You packed up your life, relocated to Philadelphia, took on a different job, met new people—built something from scratch, far enough away that you wouldn’t accidentally run into old ghosts. You filled your days with work, routine, order. When you met Nathan, cheerful, fun, shining bright like the sun, it was like two jigsaw puzzle pieces entwining, factoring into a bigger picture.
It was supposed to be enough.
“I love Nate,” you force out, the words scraping against your throat, raw, uneven, too fragile to feel real. You stare straight ahead, refusing to meet Aaron’s gaze, because if you do, if you see whatever’s sitting in his expression, you might not be able to hold back.
He studies you, and for once, you let him, assuming—accepting—that you will not get out of this conversation unscathed.
“Because you choose to, yes.”
Your breath falters, letting out a hollow laugh, sharp, bitter—because isn’t that the truth?
A person chooses actions, feelings choose a person. It’s a cycle you’ve been trying to escape for years, by making calculated, careful decisions, the kind that leave no room for recklessness.
Because recklessness is what led you here, on the side of a road with Aaron, unraveling years of restraint with just a few sentences.
“What else was I supposed to do?” The question is desperate, but your voice carries an edge, and your gaze lands on him—reproachful. “Did you want me to put myself on hold while you were married with a kid? Always at your disposal when it’s convenient? That’s selfish, even for you.”
Aaron’s jaw tightens slightly. His gaze flickers toward the windshield, toward the empty road ahead, like the words have landed somewhere he isn’t sure he wants to explore.
“I didn’t know you felt like that,” he says, his voice quiet, pondering.
De-escalating.
You let out a breath, shaking your head as something pulls at your chest—something heavy, similar to grief.
“How could you?” you ask, your gaze softening in the dim lighting. It’s been a long day, and his hair is messier than usual. Unkempt in a way that makes him look younger, less intense, more approachable. “I suppose you’re not the only one with a good poker face.”
It’s a try at lightness, at easing the blow of this conversation. But your momentum ends as soon as Aaron breaks eye contact, turning in on himself.
“I’m sorry,” he says, murmurs, and it sounds sincere. “I never wanted you to feel that way.”
Suddenly you’re twenty-four again, sprawled across your tiny apartment floor, notes scattered and cradling a half-empty coffee cup in your hands, complaining to Aaron about legal terms like prudent person and quid pro quo.
He used to revel in it, you—a trained nurse, taking after him, fighting for patient’s causes, for justice.
It’s addicting, right?
And it was, just like him.
When you finally got that certificate, he was so, so proud of you. And you loved every second of it, loved it in a way you shouldn’t have.
That’s when you knew, six years ago.
Your eyes close, just for a second, but the weight of it doesn’t lessen. If anything, shutting out the world only makes it louder. The memories, the choices, the things you told yourself you were better off leaving behind.
None of it has worked.
So you open them again, the world settling back into place—but it doesn’t feel any steadier.
“What do you want then?” The words spill out of you before you can stop them. Sharper than you meant, but there’s no taking them back.
Silence stretches between you, long enough to feel unbearable, to make you second-guess, wishing you never had this conversation.
Because this might be the end of it all—the end of you and Aaron, Aaron and you, two poles forever divided by time and place and the weight of your choices.
Then, softly—too softly, like he’s had the same realization and wants to recover—he says, “I don’t know.”

So I was thinking about a cute Mathéo fic where, like, yk the one gif where Charles is winking? He winks at Charles like that because charles has just winked at him, and he wanted to do it back, I just live that gif so much, it's so adorable
mini me | charles leclerc
an: i am just posting requests
Tumblr media
let’s pretend vegas was not a fucking LATE night race 😍
Mathéo had seen his papa wink many times, or at least tried to because Charles sometimes ended up closing both of his eyes. He winked at his maman, on the podium, to his uncle Max. He remembers Charles winking while he was on the podium in Vegas. The little boy waved at his papa then saw the ‘famous Charles Leclerc wink’.
“He saw us! Papa saw us!” Mathéo excitedly told his maman.
“He did! Look, he’s waving!” Y/n pointed at her husband.
“That’s my papa!” Ruby yelled.
After the ceremony, Y/n took both of her kids to the Ferrari hospitality where she agreed to meet with Charles. Seated at an outside table, Ruby waved to everyone that passed by saying ‘my papa got a shiny trophy!’ while Mathéo stayed in his seat giving his own attempt at a wink. Like his father, he closed both eyes. Then groaned when he didn’t get it right.
“What’s wrong, my beautiful boy?” Y/n put her phone down on the table. She noticed the upset look on her boys face.
“I can’t do the thing papa does with his eyes. He does it better than me.” Mathéo sighed.
“It’s called winking. It’s a little hard for some people, but that’s why we practice.” Y/n explained.
“Yeah, Théo, you practice.” Ruby sassily repeated.
“Maman, do you know how to wink?” The little boy asked. Then you nodded and successfully winked at him. “I don’t know how.”
“It takes time, baby. I didn’t know how either, but then i learned. Come on, you can do it.” Y/n encouraged.
So Mathéo tried again and again and again. It took time, but when Charles reunited with his family, the first thing his son did was wink at him which made Charles laugh.
“Look at you! Just like papa!” Charles chuckled.
“I know how to wink now! Maman told me to practice and I did and I can do it like you! See?” He winked again, only this time he closed both of his eyes, but the little boy didn’t realize.
“My mini me.” Charles gave the boy a kiss on the cheek.
“Oh dear god, please don’t let my little boy be a driver too. I get paranoid enough with two Leclercs behind the wheel.”

Say Don't Go

Evan "Buck" Buckley x fem!reader
summary: tensions rise between you and Buck as you find out that he works for you uncle and he learns you're Bobby's niece, forcing the two of you to make a decision on where your relationship stands
word count: 3k
part one part three part four part five part six
Buck could not believe it. The first woman he was attracted to in months was Bobby’s niece? He really was always getting dealt a shit hand. He was going to ask you out on an official date and bring you flowers and shower you with compliments and make stupid jokes to make the both of you less nervous. He supposed now that it was only a pipe dream. And all because you were related to his boss.
“Bobby, I didn’t know you had a niece,” Buck spoke up, trying to seem nonchalant, as if he didn’t feel like he was going to throw up. And he did, the idea of running to the restroom sounding real inviting.
“She’s my sister’s kid,” Bobby replied, pulling you into his side in a protective manner then pointed at the man. “Don’t get any ideas, Buck,” he said with a wink, but the threat seemed very serious. Too bad the ship had already sailed and was on the verge of sinking.
You eyed Buck and shook your head as if to tell him to not come any closer. You wanted to speak to him about the whole situation, but you couldn’t without everyone noticing that the two of you had disappeared and jumped to their own conclusions. You were going to have to meet on your own time to avoid suspicions. Especially Bobby’s.
The man had become very protective of you since the day you were born and would continue to do so until he took his last breath. Since your father was never in the picture, he felt the need to step up and be exactly what you needed. He was there for everything: your first steps, helping you ride a bike without training wheels, your first date. Yes, he sat in the back row of the movie theater, watching the two of you like a hawk, making sure the kid didn’t try anything.
Bobby would not have been happy if he found out that Buck had even looked at you in a flirty manner let alone slept with you. It wasn’t that he didn’t think that Buck wasn’t fit to be your boyfriend, but more like any man wasn’t fit for the role.
You eyed Buck practically the entire time but tried not to draw attention to yourself as you did it. Tension was rising and you really hoped that no one else could see it. Especially since you were the guest of honor and couldn’t fade into the background like you desperately wanted to.
“Everyone,” Bobby stood behind you, resting his hands on your shoulders. “This is my niece, y/n. And I expect you all to welcome her as an honorary member of the 118. She’s going to be here for a while. Y/n, this is Hen and her wife Karen,” he pointed to the Black woman who was standing next to Buck. She gave you a hug and you were quick to return it. “And Buck and his sister, Maddie.” You looked at Buck and didn’t miss the look on his face as your eyes glanced at him to look at his sister. His face was white. Almost as if he had seen a ghost. You ignored it for the moment and tried your best to listen to Bobby’s introductions of his team. “And that’s Chimney,” Bobby gestured to the Asian man who was on Buck’s other side. Oh, you so had to hear the backstory about that nickname. “And Eddie and his son, Christopher.” You turned your attention to one of the most beautiful men you had ever seen and a young boy who was using crutches.
Hugs were all passed around as you were introduced and you all mingled as you sipped on your drinks, waiting for dinner to be ready. You got into a conversation with Maddie about nursing, but you couldn’t help but let your eyes wander to her brother who had been in what looked a deep conversation with Eddie. You couldn’t help but feel like word about your night together was somehow going to get to your uncle and you didn’t even know why you cared so much. You were an adult now and really had no reason to hide to from Bobby. Maybe he’d be a little upset at first, but he’d come around.
“So, that’s the girl you hooked up with the other night?” Eddie asked, holding back a laugh. It was just too good, almost like the plot of a telanovela he’d watched with Christopher. Of course something like that would have happened to Buck. That sounded exactly like something that would have happened to him.
“Yes,” Buck nodded.
“And she’s Bobby’s niece?” All Buck could do was glare at Eddie. It was almost as if he wasn't listening at all. And for once, this was a very serious matter. His life was doomed as he knew it and Eddie was just laughing it off as if it was all just a big joke. And Buck supposed that maybe it was.
“Yes. Weren’t you listening?” He was now on edge, for whatever reason, feeling paranoid that Bobby had been listening even though the man was all the way across the room joking around with Michael.
“Hey, relax," Eddie pat his friend's shoulder. Sometimes Buck just really needed to relax. "I’m just making sure I’m getting the facts right. I can't believe that out of all of the people in Los Angeles that you slept with Bobby's niece. Oh, Chim is gonna get a kick out of this."
Eddie burst into laughter, really getting a kick out of his friend's pain, but he couldn't help it. It was all just too funny to not laugh a little at the unfortunate events of his friend's life. He was just happy that he wasn't in Buck's shoes.
“But you're not gonna tell Chim," he gave Eddie a warning look. "This secret dies with us. And I swear if you tell Bobby-" Both of the men knew that whatever threat came out of Buck's mouth would be empty, but Eddie wanted to know what would have been in store for him if he had broken his promise.
“You’ll do what, Buck?” He crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head to the side in curiosity.
“I don’t know, but It’ll be bad.”
“Sure, whatever you say, buddy." Eddie gave his shoulder a pat as Bobby had everyone gather around before they all sat down to eat.
“Alright, everyone dinner is served and before we sit, I’d to make a toast,” Bobby spoke up and you could see his eyes getting misty already. “The moment I held you after you were born, I knew that you’d be destined for greatness,” he started and you knew that his speech was going to be a tear jerker just like always.
“I remember when you were three and insisted on fixing my “wounds” with your little doctor’s kit that I had gotten you for Christmas. You told me that you were going to be a nurse and save lives and look at you now. You graduated nursing school and got a job at your first choice hospital. I’m so proud of you, kiddo. So, if everyone would raise their glasses.” Everyone did as they asked as Bobby raised his own that was filled with soda. “To y/n,” he said.
“To y/n,” everyone repeated and they all clinked their glasses together before cheering, giving you a round of applause. After the excitement died down, everyone sat down at the table, the only spot available being the one to the left of you that Buck was reluctant to occupy.
“Oh-“ he said, cutting himself off and everyone was quick to turn to him. To them, it was just the only available seat. To you and Buck, though, it was more than that. If he sat next to you, the awkward tension would only rise and Buck really didn’t want to make it all about him when this was your party.
“You can sit there, Buck,” Bobby told him. “Y/n doesn’t bite.” Buck’s mind immediately flashed to a couple of nights ago when you had done just that. When you had actually bitten him and been the cause of the healing hickey on his neck.
“Yeah, Buck,” youpulled the chair out for him to take a seat. “I don’t bite,” you winked, a joke just between the two of you. Buck hesitantly sat next to you, being very obvious unlike you. He might as well have just told the entire table that the two of you had slept together while he was at it.
“So, y/n,” Hen spoke up. “What’s your position at the hospital?”
“Labor and delivery,” you told her. You always loved the idea of bringing new life into the world and after doing a few residencies and following nurses around who did just that, you knew that was the career for you.
“That’s so admirable,” Hen smiled warmly. Just from what Bobby had told her about you, she was sure that you were going to do really well in the medical field. That you were a hard worker and never took no for an answer. “I’m sure you’re going to do great.”
“Well, thank you. And thank you, Robert, for this amazing celebration,” you gestured to the all of the nurse themed decorations all over the main level of the house and even out on the patio where you were all sitting.
“That was actually all Athena,” Bobby corrected, feeling like he should’ve let his wife take the credit for all the hard work she put in to make the house look nice.
“Well, thank you, Athena,” you turned to the woman she nodded enthusiastically, wanting you to know just how much she enjoyed planning the entire thing for you, knowing that it meant a lot to Bobby because of how close he was to you.
“Of course,” she replied. “It was my absolute pleasure.”
You looked around at everyone sitting at the table and despite not knowing most of them, you felt but nothing but loved sitting at that table, discussing everything and nothing as you all ate the meal that Bobby prepared for you all. You had felt alone your entire life, only having Scarlett, your mom, and Bobby as your family and now all of the people he had been closest to were welcoming you into their world with open arms, and you couldn’t help but feel more lucky.
You hesitantly turned to Buck and noticing him picking around his plate, the dish almost full signifying that he hadn’t really eaten anything. And you didn’t blame him. You hadn’t much of an appetite either considering the whole situation and for a second there, you completely had forgotten about him. It seemed that neither of you had the best luck in the dating apartment, so of course, as fate would have it, you couldn’t be together. Or more like shouldn’t considering the whole situation. It would have just been weird and awkward and maybe it would have just been for the best if you just left it at a one night stand.
Dinner came to a close and by the end of it, you were all sharing funny stories from your careers and just from the one meal you had with them, you knew you were going to enjoy spending more time with them. Maybe if you asked Bobby, you all could have had more meals together like you had heard they did at the 118. You would have really enjoyed that. You were really looking forward to having a real family.
The members of the 118 all lingered at the door like usual, all hesitant to go back to their homes. All except Buck. He was getting antsy to get the hell out of there and to probably never speak to you again. He could run into a burning building without batting an eye, but when it came to his personal life, all he wanted to do was run away. He absolutely hated confrontation and was going to avoid the inevitable as long as possible.
He looked at you, watching you laugh with his sister and could easily see the three of you getting together for dinner. You'd sit next to him and his hand would reach for yours and you'd give him a warm smile as Maddie looked at the both of you, so happy that her brother had finally real, true love.
The dream quickly faded away as Buck accepted that he was going to let you slip through his fingers. The whole thing was just too complicated and he wasn't going to put you through all of that, especially since you were just getting started with your career. You already had too much on your plate and he didn't think there was enough room for him.
"Right, Buck?" Bobby asked, giving his shoulder a pat and Buck turned to the man in confusion, not even aware that he was even being spoken to.
"I'm sorry, what?" You were still swirling around in his mind even though he was trying hard to focus on what Bobby had been saying.
"You're coming in on time tomorrow, right?" He had still been teasing about him being late a couple of days ago and Buck just rolled his eyes. Now he didn't have a reason to be late anymore and he kind of hated it.
"Yes sir," Buck nodded. "Good night, Bobby."
"Good night, Buck." Bobby gave his shoulder a squeeze and Buck gave you one last look before turning on his heel to head to his jeep.
You watched Buck walk to his vehicle, wondering why he had said goodbye to everyone but you. What, so he found out that you were Bobby's niece and now he was giving you the silent treatment? How was that fair? Maybe everything that happened that night was all part of an act and now he was just showing you his true self.
So maybe that night wasn't as special to you as it was to him. You had even considered asking him out, but now you guessed you had just dogged a bullet. He was just like the other's and at least this one saved you the headache by ghosting you instead of pursuing you only to show no interest in you the entire duration the relationship. You supposed it saved you some tissues knowing who he was from the get go.
One week later
You pulled up to the fire station, feeling anger course through you as you put Scarlett's car in park. You had tried to reach out to Buck multiple times since the party only to be met by nothing but silence. Even if nothing happened between the two of you, you felt like you at least deserved an explanation. Didn't your feelings matter too? Apparently not to him.
So, you decided to show up the one place he couldn't run from so you could have a conversation with him. You weren't sure how you were going to do that with all those people around, but you'd figure things out. You always did.
You marched into the station, scanning the place for Buck and noticed that everyone was surrounding the engine, wiping it down or cleaning the interior. Eddie was the first to spot you and he pointed wordlessly to the other side of the engine, assuming that you were there for Buck.
You rounded the back of the engine and made a beeline for the man, grabbing onto his arm, pulling him somewhere more private, deciding that right by the bathrooms was really the only spot that was as out of sight as you could get. You stopped there and Buck could practically see the flames forming in your eyes because of how angry you were. Women had been mad at him more times than he could count, but never like that. If looks could kill, he definitely would have been dead.
"You're an asshole," you told him, trying your best not to yell. For once, Buck was very aware of the hurt he had caused. And now he was paying for it. With the way you were balling your fists, you looked like you were going to punch him, and for the first time, he was going to take it because he felt like he deserved it.
"Am I?" He asked, cocking his head to the side. Buck didn't know why he was being such a dick, but now he felt like he had stick with it since he had already committed to the role. He honestly wasn't expecting you to show up. The most he ever got was an angry phone call. Perhaps you showing up was a sign that you weren't willing to give up on him like everyone else.
"Yes!" Your voice was a little loud, but you couldn't have cared less. He deserved to know just how angry you were and for once, you didn't care about embarrassing him. That was the least he deserved.
"I had a really nice time with you. You made me feel special. I hadn't slept with anyone in a long time and I trusted you. I trusted you, Evan. And then you find out that Bobby's my uncle and you run? If you didn't want to see me again, the least you could have done was told me. But no, you're nothing but a coward."
Bobby stood on the other side of the wall, listening to the entire thing. He hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but he had left the restroom just as you and Buck went to block the exit and he couldn't have passed without revealing that he had heard everything and he couldn't have that. At least, not yet. Tension was already high and he didn't want to make it worse.
Bobby didn't know what was worse, hearing that you had slept with Buck, or the fact that he made you cry. So not only did the guy sleep with you, but he also completely ghosted you and hurt your feelings. That was three strikes so Buck was out. At least, for the near future. Just as you were leaving, the sirens went off, signaling that there was a call.
Buck tried to follow you, but Eddie stopped him and Buck watched you leave from over Eddie's shoulder. Eddie turned him around and pushed Buck towards the engine, but Bobby stopped him.
"I'm benching you today, Buck." Maybe it was wrong of him to bring his personal life into work, but nobody was allowed to hurt his little girl. Not even Buck. Especially not Buck.
"Why?" Buck didn't like the assumption his brain was coming to and he really didn't like being benched after being yelled at by a girl he really liked.
"I'm the captain and what I say goes. The dishes really need to be done, so could you take care of that?" With that, Bobby got into the engine and both it and the truck pulled out of the station, leaving Buck with nothing but his thoughts and a sink full of dishes that needed to be done.

Anna - Aaron Hotchner x Pregnant! Fem Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I am not naming my daughter Samantha, Aaron,” you say as you are folding up a load of washing you had thrown on your shared bed, Aaron sits on the armchair which was located in the corner of the bedroom, a pair of glasses laid on his face as he flicked through a book of baby names.
Licking his index finger and flicking to the next page, he started listing multiple girl names; Olivia, Rachel, Emma, Heather, Sarah, and Lisa. None of the names stuck out to you, at one point you groaned at one of the names.
"I told you I wanted to name her Astoria," you frown and look over at him, " I don't understand why you don't want to pick that name, it's adorable." Aaron sighs and puts the book down onto his lap, taking off the pair of glasses and placing them on the smaller table beside him as he runs his fingers through his hair, combing it out.
"I didn't expect it to be this difficult when it came to naming girls if I'm being honest, but you and I aren't getting anywhere with this and by the time the baby arrives we will still be arguing about her name." his voice was soft but slightly stern, you both knew the baby girl would be here any day, so why count you settle on one perfect name?
Your pregnancy had been amazing so far, you were always being taken care of by Aaron and your beautiful step-son Jack. Anything you needed they came immediately to you and got it for you. Jack had even suggested a few names himself, however, they were only names of girls in TV shows he watched.
Getting up out of his chair, Aaron walked over to you and pulled you into a hug, his arms wrapping themselves around your waist and his head pressed into the crease of your shoulder and neck. "I think it's time we let go and let Jack pick the name," he begins as you feel him leave butterfly kisses on your shoulder, "it'll make him feel part of the family if we let him get the final pick."
You knew he was right in what he was saying. Jack had been a rock in this world for the both of you, he always went out of his way to make sure you knew he loved you, even if you weren't his biological mother. Jack went from being a shy boy who couldn't even look at you the first time you met him to now, this confident and goofy little boy who went and bragged about his mum and dad's career, that they "fought bad people and kept the world safe".
Aaron lifts his head to look down at you, both of you silently agreeing to each other that now is the time you should ask Jack to pick the name. Aaron grabbed your hand and led you outside of your bedroom and down the stairs, your eyes eventually settling on Jack who was playing with his toy cars on the carpet in the living room.
"hey little man, we have something we need you to do okay?" you sit down beside him on the carpet as you pick up one of his toys to play with, running the wheels over the carpet. Jack looks at you then at Aaron, "Am I in trouble?" his soft and quiet voice makes it hard to hear what he said. "No no of course not bub, me and Daddy just need you to help us with something to do with your baby sister okay?" holding onto his hand as you watched his eyes glass up with tears.
Aaron sits down on the other side of him, "We want you to pick baby sister's name jack, will you do that for us?" his eyes light up and his head turns to Aaron before looking back at you to make sure you two were asking him to name his little sister. Aarons's smile covers his face, and joy fills his eyes as he watches his son get up and start dancing around the living room and squealing at the fact he gets to pick the name.
"Really Daddy? You want me to pick baby sister's name?" Jack asks his father as he stops dancing for a moment. "We want you to be a part of this decision buddy, we want you to name her, anything you want. You tell him as he turns to look at you.
"Anna, I want her to be called Anna like in Frozen."

✰ A/N. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR GORGEOUS BIG BOY!! And happy new year, sweeties <33
Tumblr media
The trip to Kamakura was scheduled months ago, when Satoru offered his house to host the New Year’s party, and, with that in mind, you were able to organize everything you’d need for Toji’s birthday party too. Decorations, cake, candies and salty food, just how he liked. And when the day came, Megumi worked as your partner in that sweet crime, going in Nanami’s car with Nobara and Yuji so Toji wouldn’t see the decorations to be done.
Only when your stepson confirmed that everything was in its right place and decorated, you stopped holding up and finally handed Toji the last suitcase so you could go. Hiding your anxiety on the road wasn’t easy, nothing passed unseen by his eyes. But, luckily for you, he was distracted this time.
He was… Jealous?
“I’ll never understand what they see in him. Seriously! Even Yuji was there.”
Ah, yes. Another day, another complaint about how Megumi liked his teacher and family’s friend, Nanami. He was nothing different from Gojo in terms of friendship with the two of you, and yet…
“He’s polite, was always close and helpful with the kids…”
“I see, I see. Praising another man in front of your husband.”
“Toji!” You argued, seeing him rolling his eyes. “Your son can make his own choices. Maybe he just wanted to go earlier to spend more time with his friends.”
“And not with his father? Today is m-” Toji stopped himself, pressing his lips in a line and focusing on the road again. But he noticed your curious gaze, making him sigh softly. “I’m not getting younger, and he’s already fifteen! Three more years and he’ll be leaving for university, with no time for us.”
“He’ll always have time for you.”
“No he won’t. I know how teenagers are.”
“You are hard-headed, just like one.” Your reply made him huff low, hands tightening the grip around the steering wheel. “He loves you, honey. He listens to you, he looks for your advices and guidance. You have no idea how much effort he puts on himself to make you proud.”
With your head turned to him, your eyes captured how your words affected the man. His gaze softened upon the road, his hands relaxed, knuckles turning back to his skin tone, not so white anymore. His right hand moved to your thigh, feeling the fabric of your dress under his digits. With a long breath, he calmed down, and looked at you once he stopped by a red light.
“We’re lucky to have you. And her.” He motioned to Fuyumi, your younger daughter sleeping on the backseat, and moved closer to give you a quick kiss. You smiled when you felt the scar brushing on your skin softly.
“It’s mutual.”
Your smile made his shoulders visibly relax, and he moved his attention back to the road after a quick look down at the GPS. The car was yours, and you had the license for years now, but you still loved relaxing beside him, enjoying your passenger princess privileges while looking at his arms when he drove the SUV.
“Just don’t make me smile to that stupid blon-”
“Toji, be nice. His wife is pregnant.”
Your reply made him click his tongue, controlling himself to not roll his eyes. Again.
“That’s why the kids are with him?”
“I don’t know, but behaving is for free.”
“Not if I pay with my patience.” He sighed, taking the road to the coast, almost getting to the house. “You know…” He started talking again, clearly having some disturbed ideas. “The kids love you. Kugisake always compliments how beautiful you are.”
“Spit it out.”
“We could…” He smiled, not finishing his statement, but you could read right through his eyes.
“I’m not getting pregnant just for you to be the “favorite uncle” again.”
“Come on! It’s not a big deal!”
“Toji! It’s a baby!”
“And? We have Fuyumi, I have experience. Sometimes I even miss how I used to hold Megumi by the neck of his shirt.”
“Oh, for God’s sake!”
“He liked it! That choked laughter was awesome.” He smiled, clearly remembering times in between his grief and the moment he met you. “Come on, think about it, uh? I know the test was negative, but we can always try again. And again. And again…”
“You’re lucky she’s sleeping.” You slapped his arm, making him stop teasing about it, while you looked at the five-year-old girl still deep asleep.
“Think about it, please? I don’t wanna be the one dragging Shiro and Kuro everywhere while my son is with him.”
“I won’t think about anything.” Rolling your eyes, you looked away, holding your tongue to not tell the truth right then and there.
The familiar house came into view, the sight of the beach was still heavenly and beautiful, even mid-winter. Toji parked beside Gojo’s car, leaving his seat to open the door for you, and let you wake Fuyumi while taking the dogs out by the other side.
“Now smile and behave, we can talk about your pregnancy later.” He stated, simply as that.
“What? Toji!”
The front door was opened by Gojo, making you stop talking and walk towards the man after seeing your husband’s cynical smile, the one that never failed in teasing you to the limit. The dogs ran inside after hearing Megumi’s voice, and Fuyumi was right behind. Gojo greeted you and Toji, with him leaving the suitcases by the entrance hall, and letting the white haired sorcerer guide you both inside, towards the living room.
The curtains were down, the room was silent and dark by the moment you came with him. Until Megumi turned the lights on.
“Surprise!”
Toji’s hand tightened the grip on your waist when he heard the voices in unison. He ran his gaze around the room, decorated with balloons in metallic blue and silver, a large table with the cake and sweet treats, and another side with salty food for lunch. The guests had party hats matching the colors, and Gojo handed one to you, which you quickly put on his head, ignoring his stare.
“How did you do that?” He asked, a small smile creeping up at the corner of his lips.
“I’ve had help.” You shrugged, taking the lighter with Shoko and pushing Toji closer to the table.
His eyes immediately landed on Megumi, knowing the son had a part in it, and the boy just shrugged, just like you, standing by his left when everyone started singing “happy birthday”. Your smile was sincere, and your eyes never left Toji, while his eyes never left the candles, the cake, and every other small detail organized by you. Every new thing that was made just for him.
By the end of the song, more clapping was heard, and you felt the dark-haired man pull you into a kiss, firm and quick, respecting the others around. And, in a sweet and fast movement, he pulled Megumi into a hug, ruffling his hair when he moved away, making the boy laugh.
“Me too, papa!” Fuyumi yelled, making the others laugh.
Toji then took her on his arm, kissing her cheek and leaning to blow the candle with her help. Closing his eyes and staying silent for a few seconds, it was clear when Toji made a wish, only leaving you curious about what it was.
Even though you felt like you could guess easily.
“Now I understand the whispers around the house.” He commented, eyes narrowed.
“You didn’t even question it.” Megumi replied in a quiet tone, noticing his father laughing.
After taking a family picture, Satoru, who had been insisting on a speech, quickly started recording when Toji finally seemed to accept. Your gaze let him know that it needed to be a special moment, and he understood.
“Meg,” He called, making the boy raise his head in curiosity. “I’m not used to showing how grateful I am for you being a special and incredible son, the blessing your mother left for me. You overcome the expectations I shouldn’t have, and I’m proud of you, son. Thank you for the surprise.”
Megumi nodded, clearly emotional but covering up with a small smile. But Toji knew. He always knew. Satisfied, he turned to you, his next victim.
“My love… Thank you, for everything, I feel like I’ll never be able to form enough thoughts in this messy head of mine to tell you how much I love you, how you saved me, my girl. And how I’m happy for this precious little gift you gave me.”
As Toji hugged Fuyumi, she giggled happily, and you felt tears running down with no control while you took in his words, the turmoil of both surprises you kept from him now taking its toll. But definitely a good one.
The moment ended with a family hug, and Yuji and Nobara helped you to serve the cake as the others gathered around the table to get their lunch. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon with conversations about the expectations for the New Year, engaging topics about family, the kids’ improvements and travels.
Close to the sunset, the kids decided to play at the beach, in front of the house, and Megumi insisted on taking his sister to give you and Toji free time, with the only advice of “behaving”. It made you laugh, of course, but your husband only shot you a smirk, murmuring a song while you led the way to the guest room you were staying in.
“How did you find out?” Toji asked when you both stepped into the room, closing the door with a soft click when locked.
“Naobito.”
Your answer was enough to make him remember the day you gave Maki a ride home. Toji hummed, sitting on the bed and taking his hoodie off, trying to gain courage to take a shower. You walked towards the man, placing your hands on his shoulders and massaging his muscles.
He breathed out with the touch, a small smile could be seen on his lips before he leaned his head on your abdomen. His left hand moved up from the side of your leg to your stomach, caressing there with his thumb. It wasn’t as flat as it used to be, and he knew it. He had noticed before, and had that sweet feeling in his chest.
“How far along are you?” He asked, voice low, but slowly looked up to meet your eyes.
“What?”
“Don’t play dumb, mama.” He smirked, both thumbs caressing your warm skin under your belly button. “You can hide the party plans from me, but not your body.”
Staring down into his eyes, you could see his proud smile, hands keeping you in place while his slender thumbs moved around your lower abdomen, silently appreciating the job he had done as his dark eyes caught every little reaction of yours. Your expression and eyes letting clear he had caught you red-handed.
“I know when my wife is sleeping more, eating more, and throwing up.” He pointed out every little thing he had noticed. Things he didn’t miss on your first pregnancy, and certainly wouldn’t this time. “Ruined the surprise, didn’t I?”
“Yes!” You replied, slapping his shoulder softly, making him chuckle audibly. “I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.”
The man smiled widely, his eyes shining against the lights as he continued caressing you softly. Almost a strange touch coming from hands that years ago did such a dangerous job. It was at that moment you decided to take the picture off the inner pocket of your jacket. The movement caught Toji’s attention, gaze moving down to your hands, and back up to meet yours as he breathed in to say something.
But the words died in his throat when he saw the picture in your hand.
The usual gray, white and black glitched screen of an ultrasound, with two circles on it. The image made him open his mouth, trying to find words when he got the picture on his hand. The first circle showed a mark named “baby A”, the second one, “baby B”.
“I- You-” Toji stuttered, blinking forcibly.
This was another level of a surprise.
“Twins?” He asked, almost gasping for air.
“Twins, love.”
Toji couldn’t hide his happiness even if he wanted to. The urge to just hold you close and tight made him pull you onto his lap, arms around your waist and shoulders, keeping you close as he felt that pure joy fill his mind and heart. As you finally felt the weight of the secret being taken from your shoulders, happy tears stained your face and his shoulders, and he soothed you with a soft caressing on your back, his warm touch moving up and down until you got a grip on your emotions again.
“I didn’t know you could… We could…”
“Me neither. It was out of luck.” You smiled, caressing his chin with your right hand, the man leaning into your touch with his eyes focused on the picture. “They’re fraternal.”
“What does that mean? Are they okay? Is this a health issue?”
“No, darling. They’re perfect. They’re just non-identical, not sharing the same placenta.”
“And… And you know if there’s a boy or a girl?”
“No, I’m almost exactly three months in, so… It won’t take long for us to find out.”
“Almost three months and you’re already showing?” He asked, the deep chuckle not fooling you. Toji was proud of what he did.
“I was huge while carrying Yumi. Need to prepare for the worst this time.”
To your words, Toji placed both hands on your stomach, feeling it once again. But the clothes bothered him, making the raven-haired man lift the fabric of your clothes to touch your skin properly.
“Then it’s my job to make you feel better.”
His hands carefully moved down to your thighs, gripping as much flesh as he could, marking his digits on your skin easily. That heat, so characteristic from whenever he touched you, increased when you felt your lips on yours, a deep warmth spreading from your chest through your body. Toji’s hands moved to your ass, groaning loud as he slapped with one hand and tightened the grip with the other, taking a muffled moan from your lips in between the intense kiss.
When he moved his hips up, pressing against yours, the two of you moaned. The feeling of his growing erection pulsing against your core. With a low hum of approval, Toji moved just enough to make you ride him slowly, firm hands pressing your body down against his, teasing you with soft and quick pecks.
“Toji…” You breathed out, feeling his kisses move to your shoulders now. His large hands gripping your ass and thigh, desperate to feel you. Starving. “Love, I-”
“Don’t stop ridin’, doll.”
His words made you breathe out low, trying to control your voice, thinking about what to say back, unsure if he was actually willing to continue. Not that he never fucked you when you were pregnant previously, quite the opposite. But this wasn’t your house, and Toji usually didn’t like whenever you couldn’t vocalize for him. Moan. Scream his name.
But the way he continued to kiss you was confirmation enough, the man grunting as he pushed his hips against you again, looking for some minimal friction as he moved his hands up to your hips to move you against him again, and back down, squeezing your ass with pleasure.
The touch made you moan audibly for him, hearing the hoarse and deep sound escaping from his throat when he kissed your neck, biting your shoulders in response. Toji quickly took your jacket off, tossing it on the floor along with your shirt, taking his time to stare at  your much swollen breasts and the beautiful black lacy set embracing your skin perfectly.
“Fuck, mama… Is this new?” Toji asked, black eyes stuck on the drawing of the lingerie on your skin, and how it made your curves look more delineated, the details he so much loved on display like a meal.
“All for you.” Your voice was sweet, barely louder than a whisper when you leaned closer. “Rip it off.”
He pulled you closer, hooking a finger under the middle of your bra, pulling the lacy down with no second thoughts, ripping the fabric off your skin easily, and having the perfect vision of your breasts. Massaging one, Toji quickly moved to take the other on his mouth, his tongue travelling up and down the soft skin, groaning when your body shivered from the contact.
Your back was arched for him, both hands on his chest, feeling his skin, and your mouth half open, gasping and moaning only for him to hear. Toji’s hands held your waist tight, changing positions carefully, laying you on the queen-sized bed. As he moved down, kissing your abdomen and hips, his hands moved your pants down, taking in the sight of the wet patch barely visible on your panties, his index finger moving to pull the side and make it snap back against your skin.
Your body jolted from the impact, the skin soon reddening and his smirk widening at the sight. “So delicate, aren’t you, angel?”
Desperate for more of his touch, you couldn’t reply, and it only made Toji chuckle more, a soft movement pulling your panties to the side. His tense breath hitting your skin, a soft movement of his hands spreading your legs open for him, exposing your wetness.
He didn’t waste time, pressing his tongue against your pussy and letting out a rough moan when feeling how hot and sweet you were for him, keeping his eyes closed to enjoy it a while longer.
“Toji!” You cried when he moved just enough to see your face.
The man laughed slightly at your desperation, passing his muscled arms down your thighs and pulling you closer like that, unable to move.
“Easy, love.”
It’s a matter of seconds for him to push his index finger into your slick entrance, sliding in easily, making you choke on your words of hurry and a low moan. Toji then started moving his fingers back and forth, curved up like a hook, hitting that sweet spot that made you squirm so easily.
The movement made your cunt pulse and tighten around his finger, taking a pleasured moan from him, closing his eyes to enjoy how you were always so responsive. “Feels good, doesn’t it, princess?” His voice had a hint of teasing, the smile on his face proved it.
“Y-Yes. Toji…”
“Y-Yes.” He mocked, thumb moving up to press against your clit. “I’m listening. What do you want?”
“Your mouth.”
There was no time for more stuttering, not with your husband. Toji wanted you, to celebrate with you for what he had done, and anything you asked, he would give. His tongue quickly met your pussy again, savoring you with need, with the desire he had kept in, not minding being rough when liking and sucking your wet folds and your already sensitive clit.
Your body shuddered entirely with the feeling, his fingers getting more wet as he added another one to fulfill your pleasure, and the sound explicit and wet echoing in the room against the silence, his hand hitting your entrance while he took his sweet time on your spot.
“Mhn- Toj-i! Fuck, don’t stop!”
He didn’t dare. Not this time. Toji kept on sucking your clit with strength, licking your wetness clean as his fingers pushed in and out. You could already feel that pressure on your lower abdomen, flowing down your legs in waves, and back to your pussy in his mouth.
Until the tension on your body imploded, and you relaxed all at once, your orgasm hitting you, leaving you still in bed. Left hand in the middle of his dark hair, and the right pulling the sheets, using the grip to control your voice. Your husband wasn’t akin to share your pretty sounds with the other guests.
Breathless, you moaned when Toji moved away, taking his fingers off you and sucking them, tasting more of you, addicted.  Only then he took his time taking his pants off, teasing you and giving you a little show, knowing how much you loved every sight of his muscles. And only got better when he got rid of his boxers.
“Keep ‘em open f’me, love.” He said, coming back to bed, right above your body, when you tried to close your legs.
His hands moving around his aching cock, masturbating in soft motions while watching you under him, possessive, and clearly pleased that you were already showing off now two more of his offsprings.
The vision of his large body shivering and slightly shaking with pleasure made you breathe out low and touch your thighs, gripping your flesh to control yourself. Toji’s hands met your hips, keeping you still for him again, before he pressed your thighs down, the obscene mating press making him growl.
“We’re going slow, for now.” He spoke up, teasing you while brushing the red tip against your wet cunt. “I’m gonna appreciate my sweet, little wife. Only when you cum around me, I’ll fuck you senseless. Deal?”
“Deal.”
His voice was clouding your mind, barely letting you notice how much he was holding back for your sake, and could only go back to your senses when you felt him moving your chin to face him properly. With his left hand, Toji massaged your clit, increasing the pleasure you felt when he pushed all his girth inside slowly, opening your wet folds around him. Feeling you pulsing, your husband knew you were ready for him, already shaped for his size and his only, he smiled when his tip reached your soft cervix, your sweet moans filling his ears when he pushed out and back inside.
“That’s s-so good!”
“Yeah? Your pussy is so warm right now, ‘luv. All tight around m-me.” He had his eyes closed, leaning to whisper in your ear. “Fucking missed this so much!”
Your hands finding balance on his shoulders when he started his thrusts, the massive size making room for itself in you, his hips moving smoothly back and forth against yours, hitting your spots, pubes rubbing against your sensitive clit over and over and over.
“T-Toji! Fuck, oh my-” Your voice was melting in your throat while he didn’t stop, body covering yours easily, grunting and moaning too close to your ear. “Y-Yes! Feels so- good!”
“Feels too- damn good for me, too, mama.” He was affected by your words and tightness around his girth, and not stopping meant going faster. Harder. Even if he wanted to keep it easy for you.
He didn’t want to hurt you, no. Never his sweet, little, pregnant wife, but each thrust felt harder and rougher than the previous one, making you moan louder against his ear, fueling his fire. It was too hard for him when your cunt tightened uncontrollably around his throbbing length.
Looking down, he used the visual stimulation of your pussy swallowing his dick to move more tenderly against you, leveling his need to fuck and make love to you. It made him burn in fever while he drowned in the pleasure taking you both.
“Ohh-h! To-ji! E-easy, love!” Your hands moved to his shoulders again, leaving red marks on his skin while your body was being flooded by that ecstasy.
“Keep goin’, mama.” His rough voice continued, soothing you. “That’s right, cum for me again, yes.”
Your husband kept his harsh and fast thrusts, just how it made you melt, controlling himself while his hips hit your body slowly. In the room, the wetness, moans and breathless whispers were echoing while he continued working through your orgasm, taking more reactions from you.
“Breathe, doll.” He asked, kissing your forehead while trying to not apply pressure above your stomach. His kisses move down to your neck and breasts again. “That’s it… Can you handle one more?”
“Y-yeah… I think-”
“You can.” Toji cut out, kissing your temples on both sides. “Hold still.”
He moved you in a soft motion, helping you get on fours and placing the pillows under your chest, keeping your hips up for him. A small slap on your ass was all the warning you got before he started pushing himself into you again. Your hot walls taking his size, making the man pulse with his eyes closed, enjoying the feeling.
Holding your hips tightly to keep you in place, he moved his own, the speed perfect for both of you, stealing moans and gasps. Opening your eyes, you looked at him from over your shoulder, noticing Toji staring down, amazed, his mouth half open, forehead sweaty with his disheveled black hair stuck.
“No wonder why you hid your pregnancy from me, mama,” He started, not taking his eyes away while didn’t dare to stop pounding hard, hips hitting yours again and again. “If you just wanted me raw in this- fuck! T-Tight cunt, could’ve told me, ya’ know?”
“T-That’s not-”
“Ha-ah!” Both hands pressed firmly against you, fingers digging against your warm skin. “Don’t lie to your husband, sweet thing.”
Your moan was low, choked, hands holding tight against the mattress and blankets, while you kept your eyes on him and called his name in a low, weak tone. Toji almost couldn’t handle it, too close to his own orgasm to think too hard about it, focused on fucking you like he promised.
Faster
Harder.
Pleasantly painful.
“Toji- Please! It’s too-” You started, but he clicked his tongue, staring at your knitted eyebrows and teary eyes with a wide smirk.
“Let me hear her, mama.”
He placed his right knee on the bed, firm hands keeping you right where you were, not allowing your escape. With a pleased groan, he pushed in roughly again, your body jolting with the contact. His focus was on his movements only, bringing pleasure to both of you while hitting your sweet spots inside, heavy balls hitting your clit, reddening your skin.
You moaned for him, mixing with the sounds of your pussy welcoming his dick. The bed hitting against the wall at each thrust, and his grunts and moans out in the open for you, the swearing escaping from his lips and the twitch of his length inside made you clench, your velvety walls more wet, spasming while cumming, calling his name.
“Fuck, sweet! She’s s-so warm!” He grunted.
The never ending praises taking soft moans from your overstimulated cunt, the lubrication helping him slide in and out fast and faster. Your broken moans led him to another wave of pleasure, this time shooting his thick, whitish seed inside you.
“Hah! Yes… Always so- damn good f’me.” He breathed out, now moving slowly, edging himself while leaving every drop in.
Your hearts were beating rhythmically, fast, and you could only calm down when he pulled out, both hands on your thighs, keeping them open to watch his seed escaping, thick fingers rubbing your clit and pulling it back inside.
“Ngh! Toji!” You cried, hips shaking, making him laugh. “Too much already.”
“Only because I don’t want you too tired, ma’.”
The man moved to lay on the bed, carefully pulling you closer, resting your head on his chest and kissing your forehead. Both arms wrapping around you, keeping you close.
“How do you feel?” Your husband asked, staring back at you, hands moving, rubbing your thigh and shoulder.
“Tired.” Your voice was quiet, an aching body soothed by his soft touch. “I need a shower.”
“We both do.”
“Don’t move.”
“As if I could.”
Leaving bed, Toji walked towards the bathroom, taking some time there, before he came back to you. Carefully, the tall man wrapped you in his arms, calculated steps guiding you towards the bathroom, a sweet perfume filling the place as he slowly put you in the large bathtub, warm water embracing your body, relaxing your muscles.
Soon, he joined too, staying right behind you, hugging your torso and bathing you, spreading water over your arms and shoulders and massaging your skin with the liquid soap. That silly smile never left your face.
“I love this side of you.” Your voice made him look at you, the beginning of a smile in the corner of his mouth, that little scar charming as always.
“Just being better for my little family.” He shrugged, still washing your body first, knowing you would most likely sit on his lap to pay back. “Now a big family.”
“Yeah… We are now six. Eight, counting Shiro and Kuro.”
“I’m gonna need one of those ugly large cars.” He had a false pained tone in his voice, making you chuckle lightly.
“A minivan.”
“Hell no. Don’t torture me, it’s my birthday.” His response made you laugh, shaking your head at his drama.
“And you’re already graying…”
“That’s an illusion. You’re tired.”
“You are! Look, right here.” You tried to point it out to the side of his hair, the few gray and white strands already being easily seen.
“Shh, poor thing, you’re exhausted. Go to sleep, mama.”
His attempt in gaslighting made you laugh, moving back to relax your head against his chest yet again, stopping the teasing for now. You would let him have his happiness during his birthday, he certainly deserved it.

alright, i finally finished Dragon Age the Veilguard.
tldr; 3/10. I didn't like it.
If you enjoyed the game and would rather keep enjoying it, please don't click the read more section as what follows is rather critical.
I can finally sit down with my thoughts and put them together in a more cohesive structured review, touching on most things that I wanted to address. I'll start with positives and then focus on the negatives.
Warning, this is VERY long.
Overall, I had a neutral to negative impression of DatV, which got worse by the end of the game. It had some good moments, but they were entirely unexplored and underutilized, suffering from bad writing. While the game itself is rather pretty, it didn't outweigh the dialogues, the stories and the lore butchering that took place.
1. Environment and visuals. 8/10.
I think Veilguard is a very beautiful game. I enjoyed exploring the corners of this new world, the little bits of environment design and storytelling that it had. It felt magical, certain locations were mesmerizing! I couldn't stop staring at the valley where you go to with Harding, the carcass of a titan.
2. Combat. 9/10.
I love flashy combat, I enjoy hack and slash, so until the very end of the game I was having most fun in combat. Yes there was repetitiveness but I tried to combat (hehe) it with changing my abilities and weapons every now and then. I liked combos and I liked timed parries. Enemy tactics got a bit boring by the end, but a few enemies still surprised me and challenged me.
.... That's where positives end. Now on to the negatives.
1. Characters. 2/10.
I don't understand what happened. Almost all the characters in this game were tuned down to a two-dimensional personality, "good" and "bad" - and absolutely no nuance. This happened not only to the villains, but to the different NPCs and even our companions. Their interests got narrowed down to single points of interest (Lucanis and coffee being a prime example to me), their motivations got watered down.
This is not what I expect from a Bioware game. I want to be challenged, I want to dislike characters or approve of their choices. I like characters who are messy and complex and don't always have their shit together.
I like villains who may have other reasons for their choices, other than "ba ha ha, I am so evil and I will do evil things". Where is Alexius who sold himself to the Elder one, just so he could save his beloved son? Where is Samson, forsaken by the Chantry and turned to red lyrium with his addiction? Where is Calpernia, misguided in her choices, just to free the slaves of Tevinter?
Where are the slaves of Tevinter anyway?? That's another topic.
2. Rook. 4/10.
On one hand, I liked playing Rook. They were stoic but with a humorous side, ready to get the job done, compassionate to other people.
The problem is that it's the only Rook you can really play. The protagonist is set in their ways and their dialogues and there is very little to roleplay. Rook really does feel like a gentle manager, trying to get everyone to play along nicely, while providing therapy every now and then, and is excluded from the majority of friendly interactions with other people. That awkward glance everyone gives you after their banter is embarrassing. The way you can third wheel people, the way the game actively offers you to leave a couple of animated conversations between other people - why even include those? Why not make Rook a part of the 'team'?
I did like Rook's dynamic with Solas. They got to see a different side of him, one that's not presented heavily in Inquisition. But like everything else, it felt surface level and underexplored.
3. Story arc. 2/10.
I am left unsatisfied with the story. The pacing threw me off so much nearly every quest, it was hard to stay on track. From "we need to solve this NOW" to "actually, let's all slow down and deal with our problems", the plot's priorities were all over the place. We kept hearing about the gods and their destructive oppression, but we saw surprisingly little of it. Yes, there was the Blight, yes there were Venatori and the Antaam, but they felt more like a video game fodder and dressing rather than a part of the story.
Not to mention that all of those things made little sense to me. Why would the gods align with aforementioned factions? Why would the aforementioned factions align with the elven gods? In-game explanation was not enough for me, it did not make sense. Not with the established lore in the previous games.
I also did not enjoy the ending. While the idea of Solas binding himself to the Veil is good and does make sense, what was suggested as the good ending (inviting Mythal to deal with Solas essentially) actually left me feeling awful. I sent a man, full of regrets and self-loathing, on a lonely journey to figure himself out. That... did not sit right with me at all. Neither did the fact that Northern Thedas, supposedly the point of the gods' attack, gets to live and flourish, while Southern Thedas is dying of starvation and blight. That is UNHINGED to me.
4. Music. 1/10.
There was no music. I remember one track. It was not memorable whatsoever and I can't believe they hired Hans Zimmer to do exactly nothing. Just wow.
5. Lore. ???/10.
And here is the worst offender. What was done with Dragon Age lore is unacceptable. I was doing a head-in-hands every five minutes. This was a slap in the face of so many fans who enjoyed the three prior games and delved into deep, interesting lore of various races, countries, cultures and religions. Veilguard showed a big middle finger to all that.
Everyone has already touched upon the sanitization of different factions. From the suddenly slaveless Tevinter to found family Antivan Crows, everything has been scrubbed clean and made sweet and palatable and "good".
The Dalish clans have been removed from existence as we know them. The Antaam left the Qun? Don't even get me started on that. The Chantry has no influence in this game? Really? The Chantry? The biggest religion in Thedas? The one that we know has heavy presence in the Anderfels, the Black Divine in Tevinter? That Chantry?
I think it really hit me how disrespectful the game is during the quest of saving the Dalish elves, where apparently Elgar'nan's Venatori, uplifted to be his servants and chosen people, were trying to sacrifice them. It's a gross and oddly telling idea that the ancient Elven god turned to a faction of racist mages to sacrifice elven people. I actually can't believe I'm writing this. Just how much are you going to shaft these people? Mindboggling.
There is a lot more I have to say on this specific topic, and I probably will later, but the idea is this.
6. Romances. 2/10.
Whoever said this is a game with romance lied so hard. So hard. The romance was atrocious. From the badly written flirting to the lack of romantic scenes (I romanced Davrin), to the poorly timed and awkward 'final' romance moment... It was atrocious. I felt no connection between Rook and Davrin beyond what game was telling me. My actual companions got more screen time with their romances than me and my LI.
Damn, even Evka and Antoine, my single most beloved NPCs in this game, had more romance going on that my Rook.
---
All in all, Veilguard was a massive let down. After having enjoyed the first 3 games many times over, with multiple playthroughs, I was so excited to see how the story of the Inquisition, of the elves, would end. When I saw the first trailer for VG, I knew I would never get to see it. When I played the game, I was left with disappointment and disdain.
I'm glad there are people who enjoyed this game, genuinely. I'm sure there's something to find for anyone, but it was not for me. Nor was it for many other people. It was a let down. I feel like I'll never get the conclusion I wanted - so I'll have to write my own I guess.
I have more thoughts on this game that I might be sharing, but for now this is the review I wanted to write. Thanks for reading!

concept with kregg.
“it’s okay … you won’t break him.”
your voice startled kregg so suddenly that he twitches in his seat, even if all you had said was a spoken through a whisper. he hasn’t expect you would be awake at this time. after the battle you went through, recovery should be the next step and — there he goes, once more thinking like a general.
looking up from the bassinet, kregg turns to soak in the image of you, flushed and exhausted but no less beautiful. at some point that he was oblivious to, you hit the switch to power on your bedside lamp.
“you can hold him. no nurses here to judge. just us,” you encourage gently.
he had been so stiff and awkward, hadn’t really settled down his nerves, when the nurse first handed his son to him. almost acting if he didn’t know the custom of letting the parent hold their newborn and it was unexpected for him, the father, to hold and cradle his son. perhaps too quickly, they intercepted your son and laid him on your chest. since then, kregg has been standing at a distance like a man gauging a grenade’s unpredictability.
kregg has a hard time with … gentleness. you think he might have not had a kind childhood — abusive if you’re honest — but you would never in a million years press for any information.
there is something in the way he twitches and recoils when shown affection that hurts your heart more than anything though.
you love your husband. you want him to experience endless floods of love for every day he might have had a drought of it. here and now, you want him to know that’s he’s capable of gentleness too — that he won’t break his son, like how you imagine his inner stewing is saying.
“my love, —.” you recognize that starting tone of his, he’s going to recoil again.
“here,” you interrupt, holding out your arms. “bring him to me. we’ll do it together.”
with the pace of a turtle, kregg wheels the bassinet over while keeping his one good eye trained on the sleeping newborn, acting like he’s made of glass instead of flesh and blood. gingerly, hopeful to not disturb his peace, you take your son into your arms before making room of the mattress for kregg. obediently, he slots himself into the spot next to you, thighs and shoulders touching.
in that moment, he starts to reflect on your earlier words when you caught him staring into the bassinet like a child looking down a wishing well. you won’t break him. he know you don’t know this yet but he was born specifically for breaking.
after a hundred years, the memories grow faded but he can still remember the feeling of his dominant hand sailing through epidermis, nose muscle, skull, brain matter, and back out the other side. he has held creatures bigger than his son and crushed them into juice with a minuscule amount of his strength. if his hands weren’t breaking, they were commanding others to do it — a long chain of violent substitution. how can you be so sure that he won’t —
“kregg. love. you did it.”
blinking away the memories, kregg looks down to the infant you two created held securely and naturally within his arms.
he hadn’t even realized you had handed him over. that could have gone extremely bad. this could still turn extremely bad. he should hand him back over to you —
but then, you’re peppering kisses into his neck and holding his cheek. that alien tenderness which is a foreign language to him is something he’s finally starting to speak.

✮⋆˙ stress-ridden rafe cameron can't seem to get himself off without your help.
warnings — 18+ MDNI. details of male masturbation, stressed & pressed rafe (mean!rafe if u squint), unprotected sex, p in v, creampie, name-calling, degradation & praise (yummy), slight sadistic undertones, partially proofread
cherie's note — nothing like free-use, and angsty sex, am i right?
Tumblr media
the spit within his palm felt warm against the cold air of his bedroom, salty sea breeze from off of the ocean a bit colder than normal. his window was open, helping cool off the sweat forming on his forehead as he desperately pumped his cock within his hand, groaning with each pass over.
no matter what he did, he couldn't make himself cum.
not with everything going on — those stupid fucking pogues, running around and ruining shit. and his father? the stress and mental turmoil ward put on the eldest cameron sibling was enough for anybody to go crazy. it was all he could think about, mind clouded with the endless noise of conflict and tension, when it should have been focusing on other things.
with an aggravated sigh, the waistband elastic of his pants slaps against his stomach with a hiss. he's shoving his feet into a pair of shoes out of frustration, truck keys lodged inside of his warm hands as he descends down the stairs.
he needed to clear his head — he needed a distraction.
rafe: be ready in five, need to clear my head
he was there in under that time, foot a bit too heavy on the pedal — but what was new with rafe? he was impulsive, his next moves hardly ever calculated. and maybe it was a bad idea he had shown up to your house when his cock angrily poked against the zipper of his pants, pre-cum definitely staining the inside of his boxers.
he watched as you walked down the dark driveway, tight top hugging the curves of your breasts so nicely, he practically had to pry his eyes off of you as you approached. the hum of the music within the truck vibrated the vehicle, playboi carti playlist on repeat in his expensive black truck.
you hopped into the passenger seat easily, plush black leather forming around the globes of your ass so perfectly it was like his truck seat was made specifically for you. your beautiful eyes landed on him, watching the way his knuckles threatened white flesh at how hard he was gripping the steering wheel — it was obvious he was in a mood.
"what's wrong, rafe?" you ask, voice soft but filled with concern. it wasn't uncommon for him to show up at your house like he had, hardly giving any warning, especially with everything going on. you seemed to be the only one who could calm him down.
he's hesitant to reply, sexual frustration clogging his brain. it's not like he could be upfront with you, i can't get myself off without thinking of all the shit going on. that was pathetic, and quite frankly, a bit too much information. instead, he shrugs, "my dad."
it seemed to always be his answer. you had known rafe for years, and had been around tannyhill enough times to recognize the immense amount of pressure ward put on his only son, taking out the frustration of his missing daughter on the only other person who craved his acceptance. their love was conditioned — an endless battle of rafe tiring himself out to the point of crashing out, and his father continuing to neglect him no matter what he did.
"again?" you question, eyes forced towards the road when he puts the vehicle into drive.
"yes, again," he sighed, his eyes squeezing shut in frustration. what a stupid fucking question, he thought. but it wasn’t, not really. he knew the truth — he was just wound too tight, desperate for any kind of release. it wasn’t fair to take his frustrations out on you, but sometimes he couldn’t help himself. "fucker won’t give me a damn break."
you shrugged, glancing back at him. "you two are around each other all the time. it’s normal to get on each other’s nerves—"
"jesus christ," rafe snapped, cutting you off. his voice was sharp, almost biting. "i asked for a distraction. i don’t want to talk about it anymore, fuck."
"you know, you're being a real dick right now, rafe." you spit back, eyes rolling.
his vision snaps towards you, eyes filling with anger at the remark. he wasn't about to take shit from you now, too.
turning the wheel sharply down a backroad, you gasp at the sudden shift of the vehicle. it looks dark for miles down the dirt road, and your heart begins to thump within your chest, until he angrily shoves the gear of the vehicle into park. furrowed brows, you watch as he moves his body towards the passenger side of the large vehicle.
his hand cups the soft skin of your cheek, guiding your head toward him as he presses his lips forcefully against yours. startled for a moment, you quickly kiss him back. his tongue meets yours in a heated battle for dominance, the taste of whiskey lingering on his breath. with a soft moan, you yield, letting him explore the inside of your mouth the way he wanted, every movement deliberate and consuming.
he pulls away from the kiss, a pitiful pout planted on your now swollen pretty lips, panting for air. “push your fucking seat down.” he orders, voice gruff with aggression and irritation.
“what?” you question, confused.
“do it, s’my truck and i’ll leave y’out here alone if i want.”
it was an empty threat, really — he wouldn’t dare, and he knew that. the threat in his voice is enough to make you obey, just like the obedient girl you were for him.
your heart pounds against your chest, each beat echoing in your ears as rafe's sudden, impulsive movements send a wave of anticipation crashing over you. there's raw energy in the way he moves, unpredictable and intense, leaving you breathless. the tension in the air thickens with every gesture he makes, every glance he casts your way. you can't help but feel the pull of it, your pulse quickening, senses heightened as he tugged down the rigid material of your denim shorts. boy, you had sure gotten yourself in it, now.
the feeling of his calloused fingers rubbing the thin material covering your pussy had your head feeling nice and fuzzy. the fabric of your lace panties were soaked, within only a matter of seconds.
"since y'wanna be a brat, i'll fuckin show you better." he mutters, voice quieter than usual as he works to unbuckle his belt. "chose the wrong fucker to mouth off, sweetheart."
pushing your sticky underwear to the side, his fingers guide the head of his cock towards your entrance, teasingly rubbing it over your soaked folds, “you’re so pathetic, doll. this drenched, and all i did was be a bit mean t’ya?”
the pressure of his fat tip pushing into your tight cunt without warning sent harmonized groans filling the small stuffy space you shared in his truck. the feeling of your warm, velvety walls wrapping around him was enough to have him cum on the spot, head of his dick so sensitive from failed attempts at getting himself off the entire night. he couldn't stop there — he wouldn't stop there.
he fucks into you with so much force, hips smacking against your ass over and over and over again. it becomes clear to you just how stressed and frustrated he had been, thick cock taking it out on your poor cunt. still, your walls clenched and gushed around his length, only becoming more turned on by the mixed sounds of skin slapping, and the squelching of your pretty pussy.
thank god he had spent so much money on such a big truck, or else he wouldn't have be able to have your back pressed against his chest, big rough hand wrapped snugly around your throat. he drove his length in and out, the sound of your pathetic whimpers filled the truck, both pairs of eyes rolling from pleasure. the way your warm walls hugged his fat cock even despite the rough snapping of his hips was driving the orgasm he had been chasing for hours closer to its arrival.
"look at you," he murmurs, lips pressed against your ear as he speaks, warm breath sending goosebumps down your skin, "taking my cock so well. good little slut, huh? my perfect little whore."
he's so self serving, hardly putting in an effort to help you cum. he was such an asshole sometimes, thinking with his cock more than his head. his mind was set on one thing — his perfect dark blue eyes on the prize. not that you minded, you were willing to be rafe's cock sleeve whenever he needed it, if it meant feeling him inside of you. such a pathetic little whore, it was almost comical.
"gonna pump you full of my cum, jus'cause i can." he groans, the noise coming deep from within his chest as his hips fail to stutter, pounding relentlessly against your puffy cunt. "you're gonna take it too, like a good bitch, isn't that right?"
the sound of your whimpers and whines isn't an answer enough for him, your brain too fuzzy and fucked-out to form a coherent sentence — all you could think about was the way his spongy tip poked at that gummy spot inside of you. his hips halt suddenly, eliciting a whiny groan from your pretty plump lips.
"rafe..." you cry out, the knot within your stomach fading the longer he refused to move.
"the fuck did i just ask you?" he hissed, hand finding your face as he pushed your flustered cheeks forward, before delivering a smack against the flushed skin of your face. "come on, don't disappoint me now. what happened to that attitude, pretty girl?"
"fuck," you groan out, cunt clenching achingly around his length, lodged so deeply within you that you swore you could felt it grazing your cervix, "i'll take it, daddy. need you to fuck me again so bad, m'gonna let you cum in me till you're satisfied."
and his hips continued, his lips pressing a soft kiss against your sensitive skin, right below your exposed shoulder. "'atta girl, that's what i like to hear."
it was becoming too much, every thrust pushing you closer to the edge, your body responding instinctively to him. you tried to focus—tried to ground yourself in the way he felt moving inside you—but it was useless. your thoughts were a haze, melting into nothing as he kept control effortlessly, his rhythm unrelenting. he had you exactly where he wanted you, utterly undone and entirely his, every gasp and whimper proof of how thoroughly he’d taken you apart.
"shit, baby," he cursed, thumb creeping it's way into your mouth as you suckled on the digit almost gratefully. "you cock-hungry or what?"
you moan out around his thumb, pools of saliva beginning to fall from off of your own tongue, drenching your chin in spit. "gonna cum, rafe." you mewled.
"nah," a twisted grin curled his lips, "been needing this since i picked you up, don't ruin this shit for me."
he could be so cruel, sometimes. this was so obviously about him, how stupid of you to think otherwise. this was about him, not you. his thrusts turn lazy, before he's spilling his thick creamy seed inside of you. your poor cunt twitched at the feeling, your own orgasm sending your walls clenching around his slick cock at the feeling of his nut shooting inside of you, legs practically trembling as he held your weight against his broad chest.
he shifts back into the driver's seat, the sound of playboi carti's music filling you ears again after you had come down from your high. he buckles his belt and fixes his shirt, looking over at you with the proudest, most smug expression you had ever seen.
"give you a ride home, least i can do for fuckin' the shit outta ya."

hekate: a history
hihi!! recently my friend expressed interest in learning more about hekate and I thought that I could do some research and put it into a post. I have an altar to her but I don't necessarily commune with her often, and I didnt know as much of her lore as I probably should've. let me know if there's another deity yall would like me to do another deep dive on. i will link the sources that i used at the very end!
Tumblr media
Domain: magic, witchcraft, the night, the moon, ghosts, crossroads, boundaries, herbalism and necromancy. she ruled over sky, earth, and sea, and was often venerated as a part of the household deities. she is widely respected and revered, even by the other gods
Parentage: Perses, titan of destruction and known for his great wisdom; Asteria, titaness of falling stars and nighttime divination
Important Imagery:
-she is often depicted holding two torches, a key, a dagger, or snakes -her familiars include a dog--the Queen Hecuba who committed suicide or was received as Odysseus' consort after the fall of Troy--and a polecat (like a ferret)--or the midwife Galinthias who was transformed by the goddess Eileithyia -she was often given three heads or three bodies -her arrival is often preceded by the howling of dogs -she is sometimes shown flanked by lions or (multiple) dogs -in some depictions she will have an animal head, including anything from a cow, dog, boar, serpent, or horse -wheels and caves
Associated Offerings: garlic, cypress, oak, aconite, belladonna, dittany, mandrake, yew
Other Offerings: the typical historical offerings like myrrh and frankincense, wine, and barley. eggs or eggshells (cleansing, protection), black salt (protection from spirits), chocolate (underworld), coffee (underworld), lavender or cedar or sage (cleansing, magic), asphodel (underworld), black pepper (banishing, protection), camphor (dreams, psychic divination), clove (exorcism, wealth). evil eyes if its not cultural appropriation for you to use them. then of course keys, mirrors, bones, imagery of deceased, triquetra, jewelry or magic items like
Crystals: obsidian, smokey quartz, black tourmaline, black moonstone, lapis lazuli, amethyst, labradorite, jaspers (especially dalmation or star), howlite, opal, angelite, celestite, lepidolite, larimar, aventurine, citrine, malachite, jade, blue calcite, gems, gold/silver
Associated Holiday: Hekate's Deipnon (which I covered in my last post)
Lore:
-In Hesiod's Theogony he describes Hekate allying with Zeus against the Titans and how "Zeus the son of Kronos (Cronus) honored [her] above all. He gave her splendid gifts, to have a share of the earth and the unfruitful sea." -In the Homeric Hymns Hekate is described as a close companion of Persephone, as she (along with Hermes) helped deliver her back to Demeter after her capture by Hades -During the Deipnon she is said to lead the souls of the restless dead out of Hades during the night and must be placated with offerings -Hekate is also seen as a kourotrophos (probably because of her association with Eileithyia and Artemis), or protector of children, and is often invoked as such -Hekate is often seen as Medea's (from Jason and the Argonauts) patroness and the one who advised her of what to do to get over Aeetes' trials -Sometimes she is considered the mother of Circe and Medea
Epithets: (used like a surname to call upon her different aspects)
-Perseis: destroyer (after her father) -Aionios: eternal, ever-flowing -Apotropaia: the one that protects -Brimo: angry, terrible one -Indalimos: the beautiful -Aidonaia/Chthonia: of the underworld -Propolos: who serves -Soteira: savior -Trimorphis: three-formed -Trioditis: off the cross roads/three-way -Enodia: of the way/road -Propulaia: before the gate -Nyktipolos: night wandering -Phosphoros: light bringing -Atalos: tender, delicate -Kourotrophos: nurse of the young -Skylakagetis: leader of the dogs -Kleidouchos: holder of keys (of Hades) -Liparokredemnos: bright-coiffed -Anassa eneroi: queen of those below
Things That Are Probably Neopagan But I Can't Tell:

new beginning
pairing: single dad!jacaerys x actress!reader summary: in which jacae finally think its time for you to meet his son, aegon velaryon warning: modern au, jace being a single dad. english is not my native language!! please be nice!!
Tumblr media
You’ve been dating Jacaerys Velaryon for a little over a year now, and it’s been nothing short of a dream. He’s kind, intelligent, and carries himself with an effortless charm that always makes you feel at ease. But beneath his warm smiles and easy-going nature, there was one thing you knew was important to him above all else: his son, Aegon.
From the beginning, Jace had been upfront about his life as a single father. He told you about Aegon on your first date, his eyes lighting up with pride as he spoke of his son. You’d listened, intrigued by this man who spoke so openly and lovingly about fatherhood. It was clear that Aegon was the center of his world, and you respected him even more for it.
Over the months, Jace would occasionally share stories about Aegon—a funny thing he said, how well he was doing in school, or how much he loved to play soccer. The two of them had a bond that was unbreakable, and you admired that. But for as much as you knew about Aegon, you had yet to meet him. Jace was protective, wanting to ensure that any new person in Aegon’s life was there for the right reasons. And you understood that, never pushing him to take that step before he was ready.
But now, after a year of building your relationship, Jace had decided that it was time.
"I want you to meet Aegon," Jace had said one evening as you were cuddled up on the couch, his voice steady but with a hint of nervousness. "If you’re ready, that is."
Your heart had fluttered at the thought. Meeting Aegon meant that Jace saw a future with you, one that included not just him but his son as well. You’d nodded, a smile spreading across your face as you reassured him that you were more than ready.
The day arrives, and as you stand outside Jace' home, your nerves are a tangled mess. You’ve visited his house many times before, but this time feels different—more significant. You smooth down your dress, trying to calm your racing heart as you take a deep breath. This isn’t just about impressing Aegon; it’s about showing him that you’re someone who will care for him just as much as you care for his father.
Jace opens the door, his familiar, warm smile instantly putting you at ease. "Hey," he greets, pulling you into a hug. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you," you murmur against his chest, feeling a bit of the tension ease away. He presses a kiss to your forehead before pulling back, his eyes searching yours.
"Aegon’s in the living room, probably playing with his Legos," Jace tells you with a fond smile. "He’s really excited to meet you."
You nod, letting out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. "I’m excited to meet him too."
He takes your hand, leading you inside. The house is filled with the cozy warmth you’ve come to associate with Jacaerys—a space that feels lived-in, full of memories. You can hear the soft clinking of Lego pieces being shuffled around, and your heart skips a beat as you realize that in just a few steps, you’ll finally meet Aegon.
As you round the corner into the living room, you see him—a small boy with curly brown hair that’s unmistakably inherited from his father, sitting on the floor with a concentration that makes you smile. He’s building something intricate, his little hands carefully placing each piece with the precision of an architect.
Jace clears his throat gently. "Aegon, buddy, I want you to meet someone."
Aegon looks up, his wide brown eyes—so similar to Jacaerys’—flicking from his father to you. There’s a moment of silence where he studies you, and you can see the wheels turning in his young mind, assessing who you are.
"Hi, Aegon," you say softly, kneeling down to his level. "I’m Y/n. I’ve heard so much about you."
He tilts his head slightly, curiosity evident in his gaze. "Dad talks about you a lot," he says after a beat, his voice small but confident. "He says you make him really happy."
Your heart melts at his words, and you glance up at Jace, who’s watching the interaction with a soft, almost shy smile. "Well, your dad makes me really happy too," you reply, your voice warm and sincere.
Aegon considers this for a moment before nodding, seemingly satisfied with your answer. "Do you like Legos?" he asks, holding up a piece of the spaceship he’s been working on.
You chuckle, nodding. "I do! I used to play with them all the time when I was your age. Maybe you can show me how to build something cool?"
His face lights up at the suggestion, and he scoots over to make room for you beside him. "Okay! I’m building a spaceship right now. Do you want to help?"
"I’d love to," you say, sitting down beside him. You can feel Jace watching the two of you, and when you glance up, you see a mixture of relief and joy in his expression.
As you and Aegon work together on the spaceship, you find yourself relaxing, the earlier nerves dissipating. Aegon is bright and inquisitive, asking you questions and explaining the different pieces with the seriousness of an expert. You listen intently, genuinely interested in what he has to say.
After a while, the three of you move to the kitchen where Jace has prepared a simple dinner—grilled cheese sandwiches, at Aegon’s request. The evening flows naturally, filled with laughter and easy conversation. Aegon warms up to you quickly, his initial shyness giving way to excitement as he shows you his favorite toys and talks about his friends at school.
As you sit at the table, Jace reaches over to squeeze your hand, his thumb brushing gently over your knuckles. There’s a look in his eyes that tells you everything you need to know—he’s happy, and so are you.
Later that night, after Aegon has gone to bed, you and Jace find yourselves back in the living room, the remnants of the Lego spaceship still scattered across the floor. He pulls you close, wrapping his arms around you as you lean against his chest.
"Thank you," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to your temple. "For today. For being so amazing with Aegon."
"I love him already," you admit, your voice soft as you rest your head against him. "He’s an incredible kid, Jace. Just like his dad."
He chuckles, a sound that vibrates through you. "You’re incredible too. I knew Aegon would love you."
You smile, feeling a sense of contentment settle over you. This, you realize, is what you’ve been waiting for—a family, a future with the man you love and his son.
As you sit there in the quiet of the night, you can’t help but think that this is the start of something beautiful. The three of you, together, just like this.

I'm A Matchmaker, Baby - Ollie Bearman, Charles Leclerc/Max Verstappen
Words: 4,123 Summary: After Saudi Arabia, Charles fully takes Ollie under his wing, he is his son after all, which leads to Ollie having dinner with the Monaco royal family and meeting the most beautiful girl in the world, the princess of Monaco. Note(s): This is also a Lestappen fic, Max and Charles get together and are together in this fic. They ended up playing a huge part in this fic, so be warned. Also the title is what it is because I can just hear Charles say it.
Tumblr media
Masterlist | Support Me!
Charles had always wanted children. He had wanted children nearly as long as he had wanted to be a Ferrari Formula One driver. He had never expected to be a father this young. But he was and his heart was full because of it.
He wasn’t Ollie’s father on paper or biologically, but what did that matter when it came to the heart and in Charles’ heart, he is Ollie’s father. He already felt something for the young driver, but then Saudi Arabia happened and Ollie had followed him around the Ferrari garage, all polite as he asked his questions, eyes filled with awe and determination. Something had settled in him then. The realization hit only after the race as he waited for the press conference and saw the number of tweets greeting him.
They all were praising Ollie, comparing the two, saying how much Ollie and him were alike. It wasn’t the first time he had heard such things. Arthur had remarked it once, so had Jock, but he hadn’t thought much of it. But now as he scrolled and scrolled and saw the comparisons that fans had made, he couldn’t help but compare them as well. They were quite similar. From the tracks they both liked and performed well at, the love for Ferrari, they both couldn’t cook for shit apparently, and there was even more.
The thing that really got him, a well of fondness striking his heart, was Ollie already talking to someone about this weekend and how when jumping into Carlos’ car for FP3 he struggled with the wheel because he always used Charles’ set up at the factory. It was like it never occurred to him in the near four years he had been with the Ferrari academy to even think of trying another driver’s set up.
“He did well.” A shoulder brushes against his, tehir voice just barely above a murmur.
Charles closes out of his twitter, smiling. “He did very well. Better than Ferrari was expecting.”
He huffs out a laugh, the press of their shoulders becoming firmer. “He really does take after you then.”
A pink blush forms on his cheeks, but he can’t help but beam, pride so quickly filling him. He only seemed to have Ollie for a day, but he would happily kill anyone and anything that would hurt him. “He does. He was amazing during the race, no? Finishing seventh.”
“It’s too bad Lewis is a sure thing. Ollie already seems to be ready for the Ferrari seat.”
If it was anyone else, he would think that they were fishing and if it was anyone else he wouldn’t bother responding, but it was Max. Max had never shared things he said, not when they were matters of the heart or private or even just a bit personal.
“There are things in place. But Ollie would like to do a year in the back or midfield at least before stepping up.”
Max hums, eyebrows furrowed, considering. “Even after this? And what if Carlos isn’t ready for Australia?”
Charles hesitates, eyes darting around, as he thinks of the meeting he has to attend after this to discuss just that.
“Later?” Max offers.
“Later.” He agrees, nodding.
“Nightcap in my room?”
The word yes is on the tip of his tongue, he hates the idea of passing it up, but he shakes his head. “I want to spend some time with Ollie. It was a big day for him. I already plan on getting dinner with him, talking, making sure he is all okay. If you are still up after, perhaps I could stop by?”
Max smiles, eyes crinkling. “You are welcome anytime, of course, Charlie. I’ll have a spare key waiting for you at the front desk or you can always just knock.”
“Thank you, Max.”
Max’s smile grows bigger and he squeezes Charles’ shoulder, once, twice, then three times. “Of course.”
Charles leans against the door frame watching as Andrea leads Ollie through the last of his cooldown stretches. His neck was surely hurting and it would be worse tomorrow, but he could see the sheen of cream that Andrea had used on him at the beginning of his F1 career, still did if it had been a practically hard race. And if he knew Andrea which he did, he already knew that there was an extra one in his bag to give to Ollie.
“Hello.” He greets when Ollie finishes his last stretch, straightening with a small groan.
“Charles!” Ollie grins, eyes brightening.
He catches Andrea shaking his head from the corner of his eye, but there’s a fond smile on the older man’s face. “I’ve finished with my meeting, are you ready for dinner?”
Charles fears for a moment his head will come off with how eagerly Ollie shakes it.
They go to a small restaurant, Italian, that Andrea had found for Charles.
Siding into the booth seats, Charles watches, amused, as Ollie looks around with interest, fingers fiddling with his menu.
“I’ve been coming here since the race was introduced. It is nice, no?”
Ollie nods, “it is. Reminds me a bit of…” he trails off and Charles knows what he’s thinking.
“A bit. The owner, her mother, is Italian.”
“Ah.”
Opening the menu, Charles eyes glimpse over it already knowing what he’s going to get, fingers drumming against the table for a moment.
“You did very well during the race, Ollie.”
The boy’s face turns red, his hand rubbing at the back of his neck. “I could have done better.”
Charles shakes his head. “You got one free practice session, managed to qualify ahead of a seven time world champion and a McLaren. You didn’t damage the car and finished in the points. You did fantastic. And you had to get used to a new wheel set up.”
Ollie sputters a bit at the last part.
“It’s just, why would I-” he cuts himself off.
“Why would you what?” Charles asks, staring at him.
“Why would I bother with Carlos’ when yours is there? I mean he’s fine, been nothing nice to me, but you are Ferrari. I wanted to join the academy partially because of you. You’re one of the best of the current generation. And you always let me, let anyone of us bother you with questions.”
“It’s never a bother.” Charles corrects as he thinks of the other Ferrari Driver Academy drivers that sometimes message him with a question or always ask when they see him if he can look over their lap times for a second, which he of course does if he isn’t busy.
“And that! You’re so nice about it. I know Dino once messaged you at three am on accident drunk and you sent a car to get him.”
Charles frowns, “Of course I did. He was in a country he had never been in before and drunk enough to text me. I wouldn’t have been able to sleep if I didn’t know he got back to his hotel okay.”
Ollie groans and then he’s leaning forward, head hitting the table with a loud thunk that has Charles hissing and pushing at Ollie’s shoulder until he raises his head enough for Charles to look at his forehead.
It’s slightly red and Charles frowns, moving his hand to rub gently at the center of the redness.
“Ollie,” he scolds. “You have to be careful. Your neck has gone through enough strain today. And I don’t know if you should risk hitting your head.”
“It’s fine, dad.” Ollie mumbles, pushing Charles hand away to rub at the spot himself before turning an impressive shade of red.
Charles watches, a beam on his face, as Ollie tries to speak again, saying the word dad again before managing to say the first part of his name.
“You get this from your uncle Lorenzo.”
And that just sends Ollie into another sputter of words that don’t make sense.
He drops off Ollie at his hotel room a few hours later, giving him a hug and putting more cream on his neck, before reminding him that Andrea or him will do it again in the morning before or after breakfast depending on how his neck is feeling.
He stops at his own hotel room to grab his carry-on, his regular suitcase already with Joris before going up two floors and knocking on a hotel room door.
“Charles.” Max greets, eyes crinkling as he smiles before he draws him for a hug.
“Hello.” He presses a kiss to Max’s cheek and ignores the way his own cheeks turn pink as well Max’s from the gesture.
Stepping into the room, he moves further in, setting his carry on by the bed, before collapsing on it, his lips stretching into a smile as he thinks of his dinner with Ollie.
“You are very happy.” Max comments, laying next to him.
“I am. I am very happy.” He breathes. “I’m a dad, Max.” Saying the words out loud, makes his grin grow.
“You-” Max coughs, “you’re a what?”
“A dad, a papa. I do not know the Dutch word for it.”
Max says the Dutch word for dad instantly, like he always does when Charles makes a comment about not knowing the Dutch word for something. “Thank you.” He says, repeating what Max said.
Max clears his throat after a moment and Charles turns his head to look at Max and is surprised to see pain in the blue eyes he likes looking into so much and there’s an unsure expression on Max’s face. His body is still turned towards Charles, but he’s closed off, arms over his chest.
“What is wrong?” Charles asks, concern dripping from his words.
“How old?”
He blinks at him, struggling with the question. “How old is what?”
“The baby. How old is the baby? I mean has it been born?”
Charles stares at him, slightly dumbfounded, because what language was Max speaking? It couldn’t be English.
Then it hits him, his breath of happiness, of him saying he’s a dad.
“No, no!” He scrambles upwards before leaning over Max, hands cupping the barely older’s face. “It is not a baby. I’m talking about Ollie, chérie. I am his dad. Twitter was going on and on about it and then at dinner, oh, Max.” He sighs. “He called me dad.”
The hurt vanishes from Max’s face at his words, cheeks a touch pink from the way Charles is touching him, from the name he called him.
“You two are alike.” He offers before softening further as Charles’ thumbs start to stroke his cheekbones.
“I’m sure you are an amazing dad.”
Charles beams at him. “I hope so. Ollie had to learn Carlos’ wheel setup.”
Max snorts at the whisper. “I see Ollie is part of the Charles Leclerc is the best club.”
Charles flushes, “well you would know.”
He smiles, his fingers finding Charles’ waist. “Yes, I would. It would be poor if the president of the club didn’t know all the members.”
“Max.”
“Charles.”
“Kiss me finally.”
The sheer want on Max’s face has Charles letting out a whine.
“I won’t keep you a secret if we do that Charles. I can’t cross that line.”
Charles shakes his head, “I would never ask you to.” And he finally says, reveals, let outs, the conversation he had before signing his new contract, his one of many non-negotiables. “Ferrari knows. John threw his full support behind me after I called him. They ask for three to six months, just to get things in place, protection. I know, it’s still a secret, but I just have to message them and they set things in motion.” He rambles.
“Charles,” Max breathes, cutting him off and shaking his head. “You talked to Ferrari about us?”
He ducks his head, flushing. “I’m tired of not having all of you, of not getting to say that I’m yours and you are mine. I want more than glances and fleeting touches. I want to be consumed by you. I couldn’t do another year of not knowing what it felt like to feel your hands on my bare skin, to feel your lips on mine. I couldn’t do it.”
Max stares up at him, throat bobbing and there’s a gentle pressure on the back of his neck. “I love you so much.”
And Charles is unable to respond, the lips on his preventing it and he can’t even try to be angry about it as he happily kisses, gets kissed by, Max for the first time.
Charles knows that having booked a private room for breakfast the next morning makes it seem like what happened with Max was planned, but thankfully Max knows him. He knows that Charles most mornings on race weekends likes to have breakfast in private, especially if he still is there the next day after the race. Wants to start his day with some peace and be surrounded by his choice of people. Max has never made it to one of these breakfasts before and this is Ollie’s first as well.
Entering the room, and it was nice that only did the hotel have a good restaurant in it but also let you rent out rooms just to eat, hand in hand with Max, he smiles at Ollie, spotting him first, giving Max’s hand a squeeze before letting it go and moving to pull Ollie into a quick hug.
He nearly presses bisous to his cheeks, as he does with all the people he thinks of as family or close to it in greeting, but he doesn’t know if Ollie would be comfortable with it, so he settles for just squeezing him a bit tighter.
Andrea gets greeted with a squeeze to the shoulder as the trainer sips at a cup of coffee, Joris the same, though he has to dodge an elbow to his side, which makes him laugh.
He goes to Pierre after, giving him bisous and getting them in return before his friend looks behind him where Max must be, his eyebrow raising slightly.
Charles flushes, “we are together now, Pierre.”
“Well, I had no doubts about that. You are glowing. I just can’t tell if it’s from finally getting together with Max, becoming a parent, or both.”
“Both. Have you spoken to Ollie?”
Pierre shakes his head.
“You’ll love him and you can go maybe get a head start on being his favorite uncle behind Arthur.”
He scoffs, “as if Arthur could be a better uncle than me.”
“Well, he has a head start.”
Pierre mutters under his breath as he heads over to where Ollie is awkwardly standing and Charles returns to Max’s side, intertwining their fingers and pressing a quick kiss to his cheek.
“Pierre gunning for favorite uncle?”
Charles smiles at the question, unable to help himself from pressing another kiss to Max’s cheek. “Yes.
"He’ll get a leg up on Lorenzo, but Arthur is fairly ahead of them both.”
He hums, turning his head to capture Charles’ lips in a short kiss. “At least Vic will be favorite Aunt. Two of them will have to deal with not being the favorite.”
“That’ll be bloody.” Charles scoffs, he still had a scar on his lower back from when Lorenzo and him had roughhoused.
Their mother had been distraught when she had seen the blood, horrified. Their father hadn’t been happy about it but had easily come to terms with being an accident. Poor Arthur had refused to leave him alone, clinging to him as he had been there, though playing on their shared DS.
Jules though… despite having been Lorenzo’s best friend, he had been taken with Charles as soon as he first held him. It had been a joke between Jules’ parents and his to make Jules his godfather, but Jules had latched on to the idea, despite Lorenzo’s protests about Jules liking a gross baby, and by the time Charles was a year old, Jules happily held the title of godfather to Charles.
“You know you won’t win favorite dad with Ollie, right?”
Max smiles, soft and slightly amused. “I know.” His eyes flicker over to where Pierre is talking to Ollie.
Andrea and Joris having their own discussion, though all of their eyes flicker to where Charles and Max are standing.
“And you are okay with that?” There’s a hint of disbelief in his voice.
“Charles,” Max laughs. “You’re the only one I’ve ever been okay with winning instead of me. And I, of course, can’t be upset that Ollie thinks the world of you, and will see you as his favorite.”
The barely younger has to blink back tears, “You say the sweetest things, cherie.”
“Only for you, Charlie. Only for you.”
“Are you sure I should be coming with you?”
Charles sends him a look and Ollie can’t help but duck his head. “It is for family and I have a good relationship with them. I could bring fifty people and say they are family and it would be okay. And you are family.” He gently cuffs Ollie’s ear. “Max will be coming too.”
“Even after?”
“Yes, even after.”
Ollie doesn’t bother asking how Charles has a custom suit that fits him perfectly, it’s just who Charles and even Max are, though Max doesn’t do any clothes shopping, it’s either sponsored clothing or now things that Charles buys him.
In the car ride to the palace, Max tells him the names of the royal family. And Ollie repeats them over and over again in his head.
“Why won’t Gabriella and Jacques be there?” Ollie asks again, thinking of the youngest two children.
“This is technically a publicity dinner, though it is private. They are only nine, Albert and Charlene are very protective. Next time we are in Monaco there will be a lunch and they will be there for that.”
“But Y/N will be there?”
“Yes.” Charles nods. “She is your age and this is private, but she is not set to inherit the throne.”
“But, a girl could inherit. Gabriella is.” Ollie remembers that much for Max’s rambles about different royal families and their workings.
“Yes, though she is behind Jacques since he was born first, though they are twins. Y/N isn’t interested in being the heir apparent, she currently does such duties and is willing to step up if neither of her siblings want to take the title.”
“Jacques is slightly keen on it, I imagine that Gabriella will be the one to take it.” Max chimes in.
Ollie watches amused as Charles and Max begin to playfully bicker about the siblings though it’s clear that Charles thinks the same as Max.
The car rolls to a stop and Ollie has to take a deep breath before exiting the car after Charles. He watches as the prince greets him warmly, giving him a hug before Charlene does and then Ollie’s breath catches a girl, his age, envelopes Charles into a hug.
They’ve clearly met and know each other well with the way Charles beams at her and her back and he can just hear Charles asking her about something before his attention is drawn away by Max introducing him to Prince Albert.
Ollie ducks his head, extending his hand out. “It’s an honor to meet you, Prince Albert.”
The prince lets out a chuckle, shaking his hand. “You as well, Ollie. But you can just call me Albert. No need for formalities, not when you are Charles’ son.”
Ollie flushes at the words, but flashes a pleased grin.
“And Max, it’s always good to see you.” Albert cheers, bringing in the world champion for a hug.
“You as well, Albert.”
Charlene greets him much quieter than Albert, though she immediately insists on him not referring to her as princess. “It is lovely to meet you. Charles and Max have both talked about you.”
“Oh, thank you. They’ve both talked about you as well, you and your family.”
“Max and Charles are kind.”
He nods in agreement.
“Ollie,” Charles calls and he instantly turns to look at him. “I want you to meet, Princess Y/N.”
“Please, just call me Y/N.” She immediately says with a shake of her head, before extending a hand out.
“It’s nice to meet you, Ollie.”
He can feel himself turning red as they shake hands, her eyes on him and even just the slightest touch of their fingers and palms. “You as well.”
“So Ollie,” Charles murmurs, the words nearly a slur from sleep and the many drinks he had.
Max pulls Charles tighter, nosing at his wet hair, happy that even this drunk it was easy to get Charles to take one, get rid of the stench of the clubs they had been in. “Yeah, he definitely likes Y/N.”
“Oh, thank god. She clearly likes him. I mean did you see her at dinner and then at Jimmy’z? She was so flustered. She confused her silverware. She hasn’t done that once in the near eight years I’ve known her.”
“Charles,” Max warns, already knowing where this is headed and he just knows he’s not going to hear the end of this when they wake up in a few hours, hungover and eager to indulge in greasy food before a workout. “Don’t play matchmaker.”
He can feel his pout against his collarbone, before he’s moving until he’s entirely on top of him and Max lets out a silent oof as Charles’ elbows knock against his ribs, but his hands follow along, eagerly wrapping his arms around him and pulling him until he’s pressed completely against him.
“But babe.”
Max flushes at the pet name. “Go to sleep, Charles. Think about it in the morning.” His eyes slip shut as he realizes what he just said, a silent fuck leaving his mouth
Charles wiggles against him, a beam pressed against his cheek. “I knew you’d help me! Yes, we will talk after we sleep. I’m thinking a lot of flowers and my yacht. They’ll love it.”
“Mhmm.” Max says, “let’s go to bed.”
“Okay. Love you, chérie.”
“Love you too.”
Stepping onto the yacht, Ollie gives a smile to the older gentleman that Charles hires to drive the yacht when he’s not feeling up to it or knows he’s going to be drinking.
“Hi Nicholas.”
“Good afternoon, Ollie.” His lips twitch into a smile. “Your father has asked that you go below until we are at sea.”
“He has a surprise for me, doesn’t he?”
Nicholas shrugs, “I’m unaware of any surprise.”
Ollie groans that was definitely a yes.
Despite that, he goes below deck, settling nicely into the hammock that is there despite the much better and cozier one that is above.
It’s over thirty minutes before Charles sends him a text telling him to come up.
Getting out of the hammock, he jogs up the stairs and over to the part of the deck where they always eat. He nearly skids to a stop however when he sees a massive amount of flowers and his breath catches, the princess.
“Princess Y/N, I had no idea.” He runs a hand through his hair and tries to not think about the t-shirt he is wearing.
She quickly stands, nearly tipping forward, but he quickly grabs her, keeping her upright. She smiles,
“Ollie, it’s nice to see you again. Did Charles message you about lunch as well?”
He smiles back at her, heart beating a little faster. “Yeah. Have you seen him?”
Her eyebrows press together, “I thought he was down below. That’s what Nicholas said.”
“Nicholas told me to wait down below until we were at sea. Charles texted me telling me to come up here.”
Ollie’s cheeks flush and his hands that were still resting on her drop, something he can’t help but mourn a little. “I think I know why he isn’t here, but we are.”
“Oh?”
He nearly gulps, hands feeling a little sweaty. “At the dinner, I was a bit flustered.”
She lets out a small laugh. “Most people are at dinner with my parents, especially my father.”
“I was nervous.” He tells her. “But, I was flustered because of you. I mean, you’re so beautiful.”
“Oh.” She blinks before her head ducks down. “I was flustered as well.”
A smile pulls at his lips at the quiet whisper. “Really?”
“Yes. I mean, I used my table fork instead of my salad fork. I haven’t done that since I was maybe ten.”
“I really made you flustered.”
“Unbelievably so.” She laughs.
“Shall we have this lunch that Charles put together? Maybe plan another lunch or dinner for after this?”
“I’d love that.”
