About @lets-make-a-thing
By now you must be wondering... what is the "letsmakeathing" account? What even is this "project"?
For those who wish to stay and vote in the project, I look forward to the continuation of your support. <3
ABOUT ME AND THE PROJECT
Hello. I'm the creative manager of this random and spontaneous tumblr poll project. I'm a digital artist and video editor, hobbyist music producer and concept designer. I used to dabble in creative writing back in 2016, and am currently working towards my jlptN4 qualifications. Put shortly, I'm an otaku with a lot of hobbies.
For context, I call the purpose of this account a "project" because that's all it is right now honestly. It's not like, an OELN, a novel or action game or animation or even anything yet. When the time comes, we'll vote on that. :) Simply a random concept design idea that is intended to represent the wishes of myself and of a good harmonious community.
Basically I don't know what this is. Or better yet, it's more like "let's find out what this will be, together".
Sorry, was that too anime protag vibes? 😂😂
ABOUT SPIRITUALITY
tl;dr People can act stupid, and through this project I think we can, at least a little bit, show each other how not to act stupid /hj
On a different note, I don't like to talk about religion and spirituality online because there are a lot of controversial opinions about them. However, I'll mention it because I think it is very interesting in regards to our project.
I believe in the Universal Truth, comprising of God the Father, the Holy Spirit Mother, Christ the Example. For context, I'm spiritual, not religious.
People who claim they are Christian or who represent God sometimes do really bad things. And because of sinful people claiming to represent the wishes of God, people who would have been believers instead turn away, because they believe that just like the sinful people, God also "acts evil." Because of the sinful people, they have a harmful interpretation of Christ in their minds. Definitions of words are switched around, and unknowing people are tricked into believing "God is evil."
This makes me really disappointed in people sometimes.
Situations like that are part of the reason why I aim to be kind and respectful to various people, to properly help represent Him and the Truth, and to act in a way that God would approve of. Obviously I'm not perfect, but I like to think I'm trying.
I want to clarify that God is the one who decides who represents Him. And because the true God is always loving and caring of everyone, having a plan to bring about the highest good for everyone... if you have been hurt by someone claiming to represent God, I want you to know those people are not true emissaries of God or Christ in those moments.
THIS PROJECT AND SPIRITUALITY
You may be annoyed reading the above section, or why it has anything to do with our project, especially if you are not a spiritual, philosophical, or religious person. Bear with me, I'm getting there.
For more context, I also like looking at different cultures. Being open minded. Seeing things from other people's perspectives. This does not mean I endorse certain beliefs, as I do have strict values of my own, but I do like to understand the thinking processes of people with experiences different than my own.
The results of the poll was mainly fantasy, then psychological/suspense, then mystery. And next, the target demographic was older teens and young adults. This means the content and concepts would be more deeper, psychologically. I think there is a certain way to touch on these topics with decorum, which is what I want to express when writing story arcs and stuff for our project.
Relating that to lets-make-a-thing, I think that this project can unite people with different beliefs, backgrounds, and values. I think that everyone can see a portion of God, no matter if it's a lot or a little, and even if they don't call it God, He is still there. I think by showing people that we have that in common, we can gradually melt our fears away to replace it with harmoniousness, and then we can understand a little better the way we should act as humans.
I don't mean to sound annoying, or preachy. I would just like to tell a good story. A funny one, a heartwarming and emotional one; a story with some kind of significance.
More specifically, I want to tell the story you guys want to see. That's why I have you all voting this project in the first place.
FINAL THOUGHTS
This is the first type of concept designing project I've documented online, to this extent.
I did not even expect or initially intend for the project to be serious and deep, or anything regarding psychological or spiritual concepts. But what made me audibly gasp and spin in my chair for 5 minutes straight is when I saw the results of the polls for the genre pick poll.
When I saw the vote result, lots of thoughts went through my mind. Do people actually want to see this kind of concepts? Won't they be afraid because they might have been traumatized by false religion? Don't most people in this generation hate people who hold similar beliefs to myself?
What is funny is the exact opposite is true. You guys actually picked the only option which had anything to do with spiritual concepts. This surprised me very much, in an unexpected but very good way. Even seeing some of the comments/hashtags of suggestions (for example, under the "what is magic poll") I found very interesting.
I feel that a story that presents glimpses of little Truths and spiritual concepts in a way that is palatable and even entertaining is something that may be well received, compared to something dubbed religious that may scare people away. Something entertaining and nourishing, like Avatar, the Last Airbender (2005), or Dragon Prince (2018), or To Your Eternity (2021).
Can't hurt to dream, right?
CONCLUSION
As you can probably tell, over the past few months I've grown to care about this project quite a bit, but at the same time I'm not too serious about it... and I think being able to have a project without pressure (to have a sort of "creative breathing room" I guess?) helps enable me to continue posting the project with a relevant passion.
Thank you for the feedback about the polls, I will consider it carefully.
I also intend to make a taglist post for those who would like to continue being a part of the project. I'm curious as to what this will become in the future, but I also want to take my time to make sure I don't get burnout. The next few posts should be much more shorter than this, but no promises. :\
Thanks for reading all my yappin. Hope I didn't bore you.

Hi amelavoie
I'm guessing these are your tropical placements?
I'd suggest the divine venus and astro finesse cancer midheaven videos as they also talk about the Ic in more detail. This analysis looks at your 6th house and 10th house.
Cancer 10th house :Human resources. Nurturing. Nurse. Teaching. Mentoring. Feminine professions. Work needs to feel like family. Food. Catering. Gynecology, obstetrics. With your Pisces 6th house you enjoy some degree of flexibility and ability to be creative. Cute bakery. The HR professional who comes up with good ideas to make the employees feel at home. Increase retention rates. Make your team members feel cared for. Intuitive. You're so emotionally tuned in to the people you work with, I think you'd make for a good manager and have a unique style of work. Also, as someone with a Capricorn ic, you're lowkey looking to create that beautiful family dynamic out in the work sphere. Now honestly some people could try to fuck you over cuz you're really caring so I'd say to keep that sweet energy reserved for people who actually poor that love and effort back into you.
Celebs : Britney Spears, Jennifer Aniston, John Mayer
Tumblr media
Jupiter on the midheaven : respected as a mentor at your place of work. Lucky when it comes to promotions. Expansive. Ability to go very far in your chosen field. - I didn't realize I was working I was just doing stuff I liked to and the opportunity found me because of my skill.Jupiter rules your 3rd and 6th house - perhaps you write about your daily experiences and reading your articles makes people find some comfort. Wisdom. Sharing. Preaching. Conducting seminars. Self love workshops. Confidence coach or image consultant kind of webinars.
Tumblr media
Again, with the moon in your 6th house you have to feel some level of emotional attachment to their work you do on a daily basis and the people you work with. Working with milk products. Exporting them. Could work as a vet. Maybe help them deliver babies. Online coaching programs. Super nice and care giving - be careful of how lenient you are. Pisces placements can be very accepting and have high tolerance level : must know when to put your foot down.
Tumblr media
Law - custody battles. Nonprofits. Pro Bono work. Helping out the community. Volunteer work occassionally
Tumblr media
Do you write short stories for children?
🌅🌙🦀6th house sun in Pisces : healing arts. Reiki. Intuitive witch doctor. Pisces is highly malleable. You have an ability to pick things up quickly.gym instructor. Nutritionist. Meditation / yoga coach. It really helps your mental state to incorporate spirituality into your work.
your 10th house ( professional authority) in the 6th house in Pisces. Gut health. Working with animals. Forming optional connections with people. You coudk even be a good counselor.
Neptune, Uranus and Mercury in the 5th house : mad creative energy. If you wrote stories I'm sure they'd be quite fresh and could actually have a disruptive influence. I see you writing children's books, stories about space, adventures and heroes who save humanity. Very imaginative creative works.
In traditional astrology venus shows how you earn wealth and since yours is right on the descendant I think you're meant to work on one with clients and build good relations with them.

This request is for Mod Akane. May I have a romantic matchup for Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, please? I do not want to be matched up with Valentino or Vox. I am a female INFP Taurus, I am 19 years old and I am heteromantic asexual.
Appearance: I am baby faced with dark brown curly wavy hair with brown eyes. I am 5"3" and I am mixed (half Black and half White).
Personality: I am shy, quiet, and reserved. But I am also passionate, childlike, imaginative, empathetic, creative, and sensitive. I try to see the good in others and in situations. I am idealistic, optimistic, hopeful, spiritual/religious, and I am studious and curious about the world around me. I am also loyal, affectionate, smart, and I have a strong sense of justice.
Flaws: I am a perfectionist, stubborn (a double-edged sword for me), and conflict-avoidant. I have the tendency to bottle up my emotions and to keep my problems to myself even to my own detriment. I can be over-emotional at times.
Hobbies/Interests: I love reading, mythology, Broadway/Theatre, cooking, baking, witchcraft, the Occult, fairy tales, and the Paranormal. I love animals, especially cats and I love Nature. I love playing video games, superheroes especially Marvel and the MCU, and researching about alchemy. I love studying history, especially Classical Civilizations, having philosophical discussions, and watching Disney movies. I am into cryptids and the Paranormal. I have an interest in science, especially Astronomy and Astrology. I have an interest in psychology, anthropology/sociology, and the Arts. I love watching cartoons and anime. I love collecting crystals, jewelry, gemstones, books, fandom merch, stuffed animals, and the occasional manga.
Please and thank you for considering my request and your writing is better than you think it is!
Tumblr media
@idreamfairy Here are your matchups, I hope you are happy with who I paired you with.
Your Helluva Boss Matchup Is Loona:
Tumblr media
* Loona doesn’t care if you are shy, she gets shy herself sometimes especially in new situations, so the two of you can be shy together
* She will build up the courage to hold your hand hoping it will make the two of you feel more safe and familiar to ease the shyness
* With your quiet and reserved nature Loona gets it and can relate with you about this
* Whenever you get passionate about something it makes Loona smile and if you manage to catch her face in time you will notice a small smile adorning her face
* Since Loona grew up in an orphanage she had to grow up fast and never got to really feel what it was like to be a child
* So your child like nature helps her to understand what it feels like giving her the feelings she missed out on
* Loona is quite apathetic herself she does care, but it is hard for her to express it
* So your empathetic nature is a good contrast to that and helps her be able to express her feelings more
* If Blitzo asks her to come up with new ideas on how to advertise the company she comes to you since your creative and imaginative insight might help her come up with something good to show
* Since Loona is quite lazy and finds it hard to think of things, your there to help
* Loona is sometimes a bit to aggressive, so if she makes you upset Loona will realises what she has done wrong and try to make it up to you
* Now knowing your sensitive behaviour if she gets angry she tries not to take it out on you and takes it out on someone else instead
* Loona is quite stubborn herself, so when someone annoys the both of you they have two people on their backs refusing to back down
* If you avoid conflicts and someone is conflicting you Loona will take care of it for you since she has enough attitude for the both of you
* Some of your favourite hobbies that Loona likes to do with you is watch whatever movies or series you like
* Even if she finds the Disney movies a bit cheesy she has never got to experience the fun of just turning the TV on and getting engrossed in a movie much
* So she is happy to do it with you, especially your favourite films since you have quite good taste
* Except that you really love cats, being a wolf it is in her nature to detest cats
* So do not bring a cat home to her, she will glare at it and try to get something bad to happen to it
* But then realises you really care about it, so she tries to tolerate it for you, no promises though
* You like witchcraft and the occult well after you meet Blitzo if you ever get to meet him, Loona will take you to join a work day
* Since in her eyes what the company does is similar to all that
* Tries to get a video of the paranormal that she has seen at work to send to you since your interested in that stuff and Loona wants to make you happy
* Will also read with you, well your reading the book while she sits close to you tapping on her phone
* But will occasionally look over and read a few lines in her head to know some context of the book.
Your Hazbin Hotel Matchup Is Charlie:
Tumblr media
* Charlie can relate to you on the part where you see the good in others as well as situations and invites you to help in the hotel
* Since she needs more people with that view point in the team, since half the people are quite pessimistic
* Loves that your optimistic and when she gets sad that optimism helps her to overcome whatever is troubling her
* Likes how you have an idealistic goal, but tries to reassure you that not everything is going to be perfect, since she learnt that the hard way
* With your perfectionist behaviour Charlie tries to help reassure you that it is okay and that nothing is perfect which is a lesson she has had to learn herself and is still learning
* So maybe the two of you can learn it together
* Charlie is quite over-emotional herself, so the two of you try and help each other dial back each other’s emotions, but it mostly fails, so Vaggie has to help
* When you bottle up your emotions Charlie tries to get you to open up, telling you that it is not healthy and you can trust her
* Charlie will also help you with any problem you have, so come to her with it instead of bottling it up and keeping it to your self
* Loves doing broadway and theatre with you, the both of you put on little performances together to the hotel staff
* Charlie has a collection of fairytale stories she used to have growing up and likes reading them to you
* She does funny voices and impressions for all the different characters
* Loves cooking and baking with you, but it always ends up with her spilling some mixture from getting too excited
* In the end the both of you made some amazing cupcakes
* After the two of you have finished cooking she loves to lean on your shoulder and read a new book you are reading, especially if it is fantasy
* Gets you loads of stuffed animals and gives you ones she does not need anymore
* Loves listening to you rant about mythology or history since she has quite a bit of interest in that herself and will look at you with such adoration in her eyes when you speak about the two topics
* Will look extra interested when you talk about your favourite topic in history, which is classical civilisations
* Any art stuff you want to do Charlie will do it with you since she considers herself a somewhat artist, maybe in her eyes only though
* Loves animals as much as you and really wants to get a pet with you even if she is not allowed one
* Has also gave you loads of manga and loves looking at the amazingly drawn pictures when you read it.
Your She-ra And The Princess Of Power Matchup Is Entrapta:
Tumblr media
* Now even though your a INFP type you and Entrapta should find it hard to connect well, but the two of you made it work and made an amazing connection
* Entrapta likes that you have a strong sense of justice it is just very admirable and she even makes you some cool weapons to help you achieve that, even if it is unlikely that you will need or use them
* Loves to hear about astrology and the two of you often go outside at night to stare at the stars in the sky
* Entrapta swears she is going to build a spaceship, so the two of you can fly up there together one day
* She also really loves astronomy as well and has done a lot of work about it over time and wants to showcase it to you
* She even made a presentation and presents it with such enthusiasm
* With psychology Entrapta likes looking at the x-rays of different brains and will make a contraption to scan other peoples to help you with your hobby
* On anthropology Entrapta has got a few files on that due to working with Hordak, so she lets you do all the reading and studying you want with them
* She is not that familiar with sociology, but likes to learn about it with you and it might help her with her own social patterns
* She is also amazing to have philosophical discussions depending on the topic because Entrapta is quite good at debating when she has good knowledge on the topic and is interested about it
* Since you love nature you usually bring Entrapta outside for walks with you since it is unhealthy for her to be cooped up inside all the time and Entrapta jsut goes along with it coming up with new ideas
* Makes you loads of jewellery using spares parts she has lying around in her lab
* As well as any crystals or gemstones she managed to find hidden in some new metal resource she found all go to you as a gift to add to your collection
* Entrapta did a lot of research on cryptids once you mentioned them and hopes to find them one day to show you and give it to you as a pet
* Since Entrapta spends long hours in the lab she often forgets to eat, so she appreciates when you cook or bake something for her to eat keeping her from starving
* Will make you a robot cat to keep as a pet since it is one of your favourite animals
* Entrapta has also designed you your own video game and station to play it on to play in a room at her place
* Has also made you plenty of fandom merchandise with her resources
* Has even made you a life like robot of your favourite character before
* She just loves making you things that hopefully you will love.

Hii! Hxh matchup please! My personality type is INFP and I'm bisexual. I have Adhd which affects me in a lot of ways but mainly things like RSD (which as a sort of trauma-amplifier has helped in giving me some serious self-esteem issues and because of past trauma one of my main problems is never feeling good enough and just below the cut), really bad executive dysfunction even though I have so many lovely interests and hobbies I try to do, and some minor memory trouble. Despite all that I still manage to seem really really determined for my goals to no end. I mainly love any kind of creation and art like writing, drawing, painting, moodboard/other editing projects, but also just walking or shopping I suppose, and even more! I also have a huge passion for studying things I like. Just some are astrology, psychology (mainly in mental disorders), herbology, literature and Character analyzing, and more!
I love affection in any way and while I think words of affirmation are a needed kind of love for me all love languages always make me happy! I love deep talk and being able to over share or just speak about everything. I want someone who interests me but also let's me know they're interested in me or find me special or unique or just s o m e t h i n g.
I don't have a religious label that I like for many reasons and get uncomfortable at the idea of one. Spiritual is ok but even that is a lil much now. I have a deep hate of authority figures over me because of experiences and I strongly dislike people who never let me express myself in some way.
I kin Gon, Reki from sk8 the infinity, anne from Anne with an E, Syd from I am not ok with this, and Coraline
So, I'm idealistic, stubborn, determined, creative, introverted, intelligent, and affectionate! If this was too long I'm sorry!

killua!
you didn’t specify an age range (which is totally okay btw) but i just hope i’m not shipping a fourteen year old with an adult lol. anyways— you are absolutely adorable, i love youu! you deserve anything and everything, and killua thinks so too.
dude he would find you so interesting and cool. i know most people probably think that killua is the type to judge people, and he may be like that on the outside, but he’s literally the biggest sweetheart deep down!
he doesn’t do much creative stuff (considering his childhood and everything) so he would definitely watch you doing your thing from afar. he then would get way too curious and come sit next to you. he would try to be subtle about it, but he would find whatever your doing so cool. this situation would probably end with him attempting to draw something, failing miserably, and blaming the pencil/marker/pen on it.
the way killua would show his affection towards you would be subtle and private. he’s the jealous type yet he would never show any sign of love in public? quite strange. nevertheless, when your alone, he turns into this absolute softie. he had a harsh childhood, and really relates to you on your trauma. so you both clearly need some comforting. you both typically will sit very close together, leaning on each other carelessly while being on the verge of sleep. when you fall asleep first, he’ll kiss whatever part of you is closest to his lips. be it your forehead, cheek, or even hand.
i find your relationship adorably innocent and sweet. (can i be you?? pls??)

for the symbols ask, would you mind all of them that you havent yet done for vader? you have very good opinions on him and i would like to hear them
Aw, thank you! Although man that is A LOT of Vader headcanons left to do :D But I like writing random stuff about him, soooo... Sad:
Vader still remembers all the Jedi younglings' names.
Angry/Violent:
I mean, what in Darth Vader's life *isn't* angry/violent? Lol. The particular way that he uses the Dark Side produces a really fucked up feedback loop: he's angry and in various forms of pain all the time, which produces an energy he can channel into violence, which produces self-hate and further pain, which produces more energy. Lather, rinse, repeat.
A lot of Palpatine's work with Vader is simply about managing this loop and adjusting as necessary. Giving him enough outlets for his rage that he doesn't just combust where he stands and start breaking things he isn't supposed to; tormenting him enough, and giving him the tools to self-torment, so that it never quite subsides into peace.
This isn't the only way of using the Dark Side, but it's a common one for Sith warriors; both Maul and Kylo Ren use something similar.
Sex:
Disabled people can, too have sex - it just takes a little more creativity. Vader has plenty of creativity, as well as magic super powers. If he doesn't indulge in such things - which, honestly, in canon he probably doesn't - then it's due to psychological factors: a conservative upbringing and ascetic lifestyle, unresolved grief for his wife, self-hate, depression, not wanting to let anyone in that close, etc.
Anyways if I see one more "BuT hIs DiCk DoEsN't WoRk" post here on Tumblr dot com, as if that body part is all that sex boils down to, I may actually scream.
Living Quarters:
When he's meditating in his stupid lava fortress, Vader senses the Dark Side nexus underneath him as if it's a living being, a kind of elemental lava spirit. Sometimes he talks to it in his head. (Is it "really talking" back to him? Is he just carrying out a strange symbolic drama in his own head? Don't ask - if you don't intuitively understand how a spiritual experience can be both these things at once, then you're not on Darth Vader's level.)
His favorite thing about the lava river is that it isn't Palpatine. Vader of all people knows how destructive lava is, but lava is direct and straightforward. It doesn't lie to him. It doesn't play games on purpose just to jerk him around. It just flows on and burns what's in its path, and there are days when Vader finds that both relatable and soothing.
Romantic:
Vader has a weakness for partners who are older than him, brave, smart, outwardly stable (the insides may vary), have a cute accent and strong negotiation and leadership skills, feed him attention in measured amounts, and are convinced they know better than him about everything. Padmé and Tarkin (and Obi-Wan, for that matter) all fit this type...
Friendship:
I mean, Vader doesn't really have friends, though. He is capable of forming really intense attachments to a few specific people, and tolerating others because of their competence, but anything in between those ends of the spectrum? Doesn't really compute. Vader does not chill or hang out or make pleasant conversation, not a lot of room for friends here.
Even as Anakin, he was a little like this. It was harder to tell, because his social circle was a lot bigger then - there were way more people in the "would die for them" circle, and way more who he went out of his way to be nice to, even if they weren't exactly close. But all of these social relationships involve some kind of power relation. Anakin has masters and fellow generals and an apprentice; he has favorite loyal troops and a favorite droid; he has a Supreme Chancellor who is being very nice to him for some reason. These are all people he works with, or who want something from him; he doesn't really have anyone he hangs out with just for the sake of hanging out with them. Padmé is the closest he gets to that, and even with her, he’s acting out a romantic role in the way that he thinks is expected of him so that he’ll deserve her love. (And doing a bad job of it, because Anakin is awkward, but never mind.)
Anakin has a huge heart and many attachments, don't get me wrong. But I don't think he's ever fully grasped the idea of a social connection that doesn't revolve around one of the people involved being useful to the other.
Quirks/Hobbies:
(I already did a “workshop/tinkering” one, so here’s a “flying” one...)
Vader's special experimental prototype TIE fighter is in constant need of repairs because of how recklessly he flies. It's not even that he crashes into things - it's just wear and tear because you're not actually supposed to yank the throttle that hard every damn time you turn the ship, Lord Vader, seriously how are you not passing out from those g-forces.
Vader is genuinely confused why the techs keep complaining. Podracers are used to having to rebuild their entire pod after every race. By that standard, he's doing great.
Childhood:
Tiny little bb Anakin wasn't actually any angrier than normal, at least by the standards of traumatized child slaves. Like, he was about at par. There were plenty of angrier ones. You couldn't have looked at him, in comparison to the other child slaves doing similar jobs in Mos Espa, and said "oh yeah that one in particular is gonna have anger and attachment issues."
He did stand out from the other kids, though, on account of just being a weird little nerd. He built a whole droid and a racing pod by himself and his master didn't even make him do it! He keeps talking about how he's going to be a Jedi and fly all around the galaxy and save the planet and marry a queen, when everybody knows there are at least three good reasons why that's wrong. He thinks random customers who come into his shop are his new friends! Anakin is just... weird. Off in his own little world. The other local slave kids know not to be too mean to him because he will always help you out in a pinch, and he is really good with machines, but other than that, I dunno, would you wanna hang out with Mr. I’m Gonna Be A Special Jedi?
Shmi sees this dynamic happening, but there's not much she can do, except to give Anakin all the love and reassurance that she wishes he was getting from his peers.
Cooking/Food:
Idk the Wookieepedia says that Vader can eat nutrient paste out of a straw in his mask if he wants to, but he doesn't want to because it tastes awful. So my questions here are (a) considering everything else they have to do, how can the suit's recesses possibly fit enough nutrient paste inside them for Vader's needs, and (b) seriously we're how many years in the future and we can't even make a nutrient paste that tastes good? We haven't even hit on "bland"? For the Emperor's chief enforcer, whose personal care budget is virtually unlimited? Yeah no, I'm calling canon error on this one. He can't eat, or it's too much trouble to get food into him with the other life support, so he's tube-fed. That's my headcanon.
Appearance:
Vader is very muscular. (This isn't really a "head"canon? He's literally played by a bodybuilder? But some fans disagree, so, eh.) He was already tall and strong when he was Anakin, but the suit adds height and it adds a LOT of extra weight that he has to be able to carry around with him literally every time he moves.
His recovery process after Revenge of the Sith involved having to learn how to move again, with new prosthetic limbs and horrifying new chronic injuries, basically from the ground up, and having to do it well enough that he could sword-fight Jedi Masters to the death, and he had to put on a ton of muscle in order to do that.
Palpatine was very strict in the nutrition and exercise regimes he imposed for this purpose. I have a sneaking suspicion that steroids were also involved.

Pisces Compatibility
PISCES + ARIES (MARCH 21 - APRIL 19) Aries is the zodiac's first sign, Pisces its last. You're the Alpha and the Omega, the dawn and the sunset. You're as far apart and as close together as two signs can get. Although your differences are vast, you also have a broad expanse of material from which to fashion your relationship. Your polar positions can actually make you a great match. Aries loves to be adored and spoiled, and generous Pisces will give everything in the name of love. In Pisces' worshipful gaze, Aries feels brilliant and boundless, and his insecurities melt away. This is important for the sensitive Ram, whose "wounded soldier" archetype is healed by the Pisces nurse. In this relationship, Aries is free to follow his natural hunting instincts; Pisces prepares a banquet from his conquests. The danger: You both have vivid imaginations, but with two dreamers at the helm of this romance, the ship can veer off course. Aries is a take-charge leader, but needs a strong second mate. Bravado and confidence don't come easy to insecure Pisces, who falls into feigned helplessness under duress. Moody spells are common for your signs, and digging yourselves out of emotional ditches can be a challenge. You'll need a council of advisors to help you manage aspects of daily life—accountants, lawyers, coaches, therapists. Aries can be naturally aggressive, where Pisces is passive or passive-aggressive. You'll need to adapt your communication styles in order to be heard.
PISCES + TAURUS (APRIL 20 - MAY 20) ♥♥♥♥ This is a lovely match of two pleasure-driven sensualists. Taurus is ruled by beauty planet Venus, and Pisces is governed by enchanting Neptune. You both love gourmet food, wine and culture, and you make a creative couple with sophisticated flair. You never run out of things to discuss, whether it's the latest New Yorker piece, art theory, or the obscure band both of you love. In the bedroom, the lusty Bull is happy to enact any fantasy that Pisces' boundless imagination conjures—and there will be many. Domestic bliss is assured, and your fussy decorating styles will match perfectly, much to your snobbish delight. For the long term, you'll need to regulate your energy with each other, or you can lapse into a master-and-servant dynamic. Passive-aggressive Pisces must become more assertive, and forceful Taurus should relax his domineering ways. At times, Pisces' secretive spells can cause fissures in the foundation, arousing suspicion in possessive Taurus. Even if what Pisces is hiding is inconsequential, the act itself destabilizes the relationship. Emotional manipulation infuriates the Bull, who prefers everything above board, and hates to be blindsided. However, Pisces can't always verbalize his complex feelings as quickly as Taurus demands. Too much forcefulness can intimidate the gentle Fish, sending him swimming into unreachable depths.
PISCES + GEMINI (MAY 21 - JUNE 20) You're both dual signs: Gemini is the Twins, and Pisces is symbolized by two Fish swimming in opposite directions. You're pop psychology's poster children for commitment-phobia. Are you in or are you out? It depends on the day, the mood, the cosmic alignment. Obviously, this is no way to run a relationship—but wait. Here's a golden chance to peer into love's looking glass and see your own shadowy Id mirrored back. Yes, your psyches and hang-ups are as bizarre as Alice's rabbit-hole tumble into Wonderland. Pisces, you really can be as needy, emotionally exhausting and manipulative as Gemini says. Gemini, you are indeed capable of being a double-talking, evasive ice-tyrant with a heart like polished marble. And…so what? If you can actually own your dark sides—which we all have—you're also capable of spreading tremendous light. You must negotiate your differences with transparent honesty, though. Pisces is an emotional Water sign; Gemini is an intellectual Air sign. Unless you balance the proportions, Gemini drowns in Pisces' undertow and the zodiac's Mermaid suffocates from breathing too much oxygen. Gemini must strive to connect emotionally, and Pisces will need to lighten up. Perennial dissatisfaction is also a killer. Don't say you want something, then refuse to be happy when your partner provides it. Gratitude is an intimate act: it requires you to acknowledge that your partner can reach you, a vulnerable place. Two words to save your relationship: "Thank you" and "You're right."
PISCES + CANCER (JUNE 21 - JULY 22) ♥♥♥♥ You're a pair of softies underneath it all, even if the world sees a hard Crab shell or a tough, scaly Fish. Alone with each other, your compatible Water signs are as tender as can be. You're both compassionate and nurturing, soothing each other with sustenance and sensitivity. There's nothing a stick of butter, cookies made from scratch, or a nice after-dinner cordial by the fire can't solve. Romantic and sensual, you love to pipe classical music through the sound system, light the candelabras and whip up a gourmet feast side-by-side. Hours of kissing and foreplay will follow. Though your relationship is a refuge, it can also become a fishbowl that limits your growth. You absorb each other's fluctuating moods like a sponge, so get out of the aquarium-for-two. With your refined sensibilities, you're excellent patrons of the arts, so head to museums, gallery openings, concerts, and dance performances. Fling open your doors for dinner parties that toast an artistic friend, an esteemed poet, or a relative's good news. This satisfies your nurturing instincts, and invites new energy into your space. You must both learn when to let go of grudges, since you can be passive-aggressive and play the victim when your feelings are hurt. Slammed doors, sulking and brooding must stop. Don't excuse bad behavior with psychobabble, either (e.g., "When you said that, it reminded me of how my mother couldn't love"). Grow up, will you? If you've been cruel, simply say "I'm sorry" and offer a long hug. The power of touch can heal anything between you, too.
PISCES + LEO (JULY 23 - AUGUST 22) Your signs are very different, but you can eventually gel into a lasting relationship. Pisces is a flowy, sensitive Water sign who needs a decisive mate. Confident Leo, a Fire sign, is a natural leader, eager to rule the relationship. Because Pisces takes longer to articulate his needs, Leo could mistakenly assume he's got the upper hand, and that Pisces is content to follow. Not so fast. In your own ways, you both wear your hearts on your sleeve, but you need to tune into each other's sensitive spots. You're incredibly romantic, and the tender passion between you is great in the beginning. However, you may hit a dry spell when it's time to get truly intimate.
Secretive Pisces feels so vulnerable when his soul is exposed, and may lash out at Leo in an unconscious reaction to the Lion's strength—for example, criticizing Leo's appearance, weight or intelligence. These cruel barbs are actually just a projection of Pisces' own self-doubt, but they plunge a thorn in the Lion's paw no less. Pisces must work through the tedious knots of his insecurities, which lay deep in his psyche. Leo is a powerhouse who can run the show with his eyes closed, but he'll do best to step aside and give the Fish his chance to shine. Shy Pisces is a true creative force, but his brilliant imagination and keen intuition can be eclipsed by showy Leo. Work through this. Luxury is a weakness for your signs, and you love to indulge. You may need to take courses on money management together, or team up to make a fortune so you never have to worry about it.
PISCES + VIRGO (AUGUST 23 - SEPTEMBER 22) ♥♥♥♥ Virgo and Pisces are two of the most powerful healers in the zodiac. Virgo is an Earth sign, clinical and data-driven, always there with a practical answer and a helping hand. Water-sign Pisces has emotional compassion, the ability to empathize and absorb other people's pain. You're opposite signs: Virgo is the doctor; Pisces is the nurse. You can teach each other a lot, doing much good on the planet along the way. Virgo is the zodiac's giver, performing acts of selfless service (Mother Theresa is a Virgo). However, it's hard for Virgo to receive, since he views "neediness" as a weakness in himself. Enter Pisces, ruler of the zodiac's receptive twelfth house. The Fish knows how to surrender boundaries and allow people's energy to flow in. Pisces teaches Virgo that accepting love is a generous and selfless act. It opens the door for others to be their greatest selves, to discover their power through contributing.
At times, Pisces' emotional nature can overwhelm Virgo, leaving him ungrounded. You both need doses of solitude to reconnect with your souls. Writing, playing music (especially classical compositions or Gregorian chants), painting and creativity is healing to you both. This relationship also brings out your spiritual sides. Meditation, yoga and metaphysical study can open up great psychic channels. These practices also prevent unhealthy addictions, which your easily-stressed signs may adopt as a means of self-medicating. Watch out for secretive tendencies, which you both have as a result of perfectionism and insecurity. Communicate openly, or air your "shameful" skeletons to a confidante—otherwise, you'll beat yourselves up unnecessarily, causing distance in the relationship.
PISCES + LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 - OCTOBER 22) Drifting into a dappled dreamscape of your own imagination, your poetic souls entwine against astrological odds. Libra is an Air sign and Pisces is a Water sign; together you can stir a gentle sea breeze or drown in your own sexual tsunami. But oh, the romance is worth it. Like any good bodice-ripper, there's passion, intrigue and mystique to spice up this storyline. You can get lost for days in a decadent meal, a gorgeous sonata, each other's luminous eyes. While the cynics gag, they secretly envy your enchanted, oxytocin-addled bliss. Living in a fantasy is fun for your signs, and gratification eclipses all boundaries and structures. Another Sancerre, an hour less sleep—it can all be justified in the name of pleasure. It's when reality steps in that things get hairy. After waking past noon in your umpteenth limb-and-linen tangle, you remember that pesky paycheck, your stuffed Inbox, the unopened mail. Oops. Hung over and wholly unequipped to deal with the overwhelm, you lash out at each other. Without outside contact and obligations to anchor you, you can both descend into bouts of moodiness, indulgence and even depression. Balance—the Libra catchphrase—must be practiced early on.
PISCES + SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 - NOVEMBER 21) ♥♥♥♥ You're both "spiritual beings having a human experience," Finding an equally sensitive, divinely connected soulmate feels like coming home. Scorpio and Pisces are compatible artistes who love music, drama and romance. Like a lighthouse for two ships adrift on the emotional high seas, your relationship is an anchor and a haven. However, it's not immune to the turbulence caused by your secretive, Water sign natures. Emotional withdrawal is a self-protective act you've both honed over the years, but this tactic backfires when used against each other. The trick is learning to catch a bad mood when it starts, then processing the feelings instead of lashing out. Once the righteous anger and wounded egos kick in, you're like two runaway trains waging a war of domination and submission. Scorpio control tussles with Pisces guilt, Scorpio withholding wrestles Pisces evasion, and so on. Yet, you both want the same thing: a partner who inspires absolute, unshakeable trust with a money-back guarantee. What you need to learn is how to give it before you get it. To adapt the saying, be the change you want to see in your partner. It will keep you together for lifetimes.
PISCES + SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 - DECEMBER 21) What happens when the most sensitive, tender-hearted sign (Pisces) links up with the most insensitive, tactless sign (Sagittarius)? Disaster, unless you handle each other with extreme care. Romantic Pisces is a Water sign who craves deep emotional bonding, while independent Sag is a Fire sign who feels smothered by too much of the touchy-feelies. You'll need to balance your most distinctive traits and parcel them out in measured doses. Your communication styles don't work together naturally either. Sagittarius is honest to a fault, dishing the unvarnished truth and heavy-handed advice (usually unsolicited), then whistling while Pisces weeps. Indirect Pisces would rather flee to Katmandu than face conflict, but standing up to Sagittarius requires it. Pisces is prone to passive-aggressive tactics; yet, subtle cues and hints will sail right over Sag's head, while the Archer's arrow of truth spears the Fish's heart. What do you have in common? You're both skittish about commitment—namely, the terrifying idea of being "trapped." Since Pisces rules fantasy and Sagittarius rules adventure, you can neatly escape the daily drudge together—at least until reality comes crashing down. Still, life is always tinged with magic when you're together, and the bedroom remains an enchanting space of divine communion for you.
PISCES + CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 - JANUARY 19) On the surface, you might seem like an odd match—imagine a Harvard MBA in Armani dating a paint-splattered artist in Oshkosh. Yet, your signs pair well, even if you don't want to admit it. With classic good looks and a dutiful nature, Capricorn fits neatly into the system. Pisces is a flowy Fish who excels at playing the the artsy rebel, the indie darling, the adorable mess. By comparison, Capricorn seems structured and regimented—but appearances deceive. While Pisces may delight in coloring outside the neat lines Capricorn draws, the real surprise is that Capricorn is the bigger freak behind closed doors. Capricorn has a dominant, even cruel streak that can play out in the bedroom (not that submissive Pisces doth protest). Leather, whips and kinky fun—it's all fair game. You both love to find lesser-known wine, music, and art, a pride yourself on having cultivated tastes. Together, you can traverse the tony uptown spaces to the lowbrow dives, discovering cultural jewels wherever you go. Your diverse strengths could make you great business partners, too. Open a gallery, with Pisces as curator and Capricorn as financial backer.
PISCES + AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 - FEBRUARY 18) Old and new come together in an interesting combination. Pisces is an ancient velvet boudoir with dripping candles and fainting couches; Aquarius is a modern, steel-and-glass construction heated by solar panel. Yet, this strange match can work if it's built around a shared cause or passion. You're both die-hard humanitarians, and if you share a common vision, you'll stay together for life. Pisces is a Water sign, more emotional and complex in nature than Aquarius. Contrary to myth, Aquarius is an Air sign (not Water), though it's symbolized by the water-bearer holding an urn. The lighter Aquarian touch lifts Pisces out of the murky, depressive swamp, while enchanting Pisces adds tassels and trim to Aquarius' cold, clinical reality. You both morbidly fear being trapped in a boring, conventional commitment. Since you can never really figure each other out, the attraction stays strong. A little mystery will keep you fascinated, though too much (ahem, Pisces) will make the relationship way too much work for Aquarius.
PISCES + PISCES (FEBRUARY 19 - MARCH 20) You love each other; you love each other not. Pisces is denoted by two fish swimming in opposite directions—one toward security, the other to freedom. Such tender bait is a fellow Fish who's equal parts commitment-phobe and serial monogamist! As partners in paradox, you'll play nursemaid, Shiatsu-ist, and sous chef to one another, doting until it hurts. Then, of course, comes the Great Escape—intimacy overload strikes, but you feel too "guilty" to ask for a night off from gazing into each other's eyes as some angsty singer-songwriter pipes through the iPod. Instead, you fly into a passive-aggressive panic, turning on each other vis a vis a good self-flogging. "It's not you, it's me," you call over your shoulder as the door shuts behind you (read: "I'm too gutless to demand better foreplay"). "I'm such an awful person—you deserve better," Pisces laments (translation: "You suck"). The real problem isn't your chemistry, it's that you're both so damn indirect. Communication is the 101 cornerstone of a lasting relationship, and if you keep walking on eggshells, you'll end up resentful, depressed (anger turned inward) or eventually exploding with rage. With the right prescriptions, a good therapist and maybe a couples' karate class (think: the socially-sanctioned chop to his midsection that you've been dying to deliver), you can swim together like happy little minnows forever.

I’m gonna give you a quick overview of what I’m going to analyze about your natal chart. feel free to ask me anything if something isn’t clear, of course. you’ll find out your dominants’ influence on your persona, your physical appearance, impression on others and the way you approach the world; your ego, identity, the real you; your reactions, your desires, inner emotions; your way of expressing your feelings, your mind and ideas; your desires and approach to love; your energy tank, instincts and temperament; in-depth analysis of each house with their rulers and analysis of heavy aspects; love life + soulmates/karmic partners interpretation; your relationship with your friends; your family life; your approach to career and work in general + possible jobs suggestion; your style, fashion sense analysis; life purpose and past life description; basic transits’ analysis to describe your current mood and, last but not least, your secret skills, how to make the most out of your soul and manifest what you desire based on your birth chart.
🦋 chart shape, dominants
your chart is a seesaw shape. your life focuses on different ideals and interests, often constrasting between each other. from one side, this gives you the ability to be adaptable and find solutions easily. on the other hand, you may struggle with balance; for example, you might find yourself dedicating your life to your relationships, neglecting your ego or viceversa. you need to learn how to harmonize these energies.
your dominant planets are mercury, venus and jupiter. you are an extremely intelligent person, you're probably very witty and sarcastic and you have a nice sense of humor. yet, you're also very philosophical and vice open-minded. you could sometimes be a bit materialistic, as you enjoy the finer things in life. on the other hand, you're definitely very creative and have an eye for aesthetics.
your dominant sign is libra. you're overall a peaceful person, you try to avoid conflicts if possible, even though sometimes you could have a sharp tongue. you're a romantic person, maybe too much. you hold unrealistic expectations of people, hence you often get disappointed when things don't turn out the way you thought. you're able to see both sides of an argument, and that's both good and bad. in fact, you're very objective, and most probably your opinions are right; yet, it may be annoying for people that are venting to you, as you could constantly point out their mistakes, even though you don't do it out of malice.
your dominant element is air. in your life, you adore seeking for knowledge of any kind. you may be interested in studying different subjects, from those you study at school like science, maths, literature etc. to more unconventional ones, such as astrology, psychology, criminology and so on. you enjoy interacting with people; even if you’re not that sociable, you’ll still be interested in their point of view and their ideals, as you see it as a way to expand your own mind. you’re also interested in vintage, and you may have a retro aesthetic or just like history in general.
🌎 ascendant in gemini, 27° / 3rd decan ruled by mercury and uranus
you enjoy communicating and intellectualism. you’re very curious about everything that surrounds you. you love expanding your knowledge, ideas and mind in general through communication, interactions and media. you have the ability to adapt quickly to new situations; your mind is fast, usually impulsive, even though this energy may not be much prominent; it may be perceived differently due to your libra energy, in fact. that’s because libra prefers organizing things, rather than acting impulsively. yet, this placement still helps you being adaptable to changes, even though you may only be able to see it after a few years if you manage to balance it well. you may also be able to match the energy of the people you’re talking to in order to be perceived as more likeable and connect with everyone on a deeper level. you may be fond of books, poetry, literature… both writing and reading. it’s also a way to let yourself tune to your emotions. since you’re constantly mentally active, physically you may also tend to play with your fingers or hair, or maybe you tend to gesticulate while you speak. appearance-wise, I assume you’re at least of average height, with long limbs and fingers. you have something small about your face; you may either have a small nose, or eyes, lips etc. same thing goes for your bones. you may be naturally skinny, or perhaps you have healthy curves. you also tend to look younger than you actually are, especially when growing up. you may often be, or at least look, sleepy. your eyes have a very dreamy look to them, and they’re probably almond-shaped. possibly, they’re also hooded. your skin may be naturally pale, or at least there’s something light in your face, even like some tiny sparkles in your eyes, and you may have a symmetrical face with full lips and a defined cupid's bow.
gemini ascendant square pisces jupiter: you probably learn a lot from people around you. you're most likely surrounded by wise, spiritual and possibly foreign individuals in your life. they help you to grow up, both spiritually and mentally. you're also very open-minded, and you rarely have prejudices. the downside to this placement is that you may be depend too much from your friends or lovers, especially when it comes to your beliefs. you're easy to influence, and you may change your mind often if others disagree with you. you could possibly have high expectations from others, creating a false idea of those who surround you. at least, you're aware of your abilities and you have the potential to make the most out of them, but you're modest about it. you don't come off as bossy, as other jupiter - asc aspects would.
🌞 sun in libra, 9° / 1st decan ruled by venus
this is the most romantic and kind-hearted libra decan. you are very intuitive, you understand others’ real feelings very easily. you’re very polite and mannered, you have this innate elegance about you that could make people jealous. you may even come off as snob. even though your gemini rising may make you look flaky, once people get to know you you’re actually very reliable and trust-worthy, as you are a person of strong morals. you may unconsciously manipulate people, but you don’t do it with malice. in fact, you’re probably not even aware of it most of the times. you’re reserved, and you don’t like being the centre of attention, despite craving compliments. nonetheless, you still like getting to know new people; you’re the type to know everyone, but you may struggle to find actual best friends, as your bonds with people are quite undeveloped and superficial. you have a nice sense of humor, and you may rely on sarcasm a lot. you’re also the type that doesn’t like to accept her mistakes. probably, when you were a child you used to scream 'it’s not my fault!’ in every occasion. in life, you strive for equality and fairness. for example, you don’t want to give less than someone else, you would feel guilty about it. at the same time, you don’t want to be the one that gives more either; you’re afraid that people could take advantage of you. therefore, balance is what you find the most pleasant.
libra sun conjunct libra venus: you enjoy peace and harmony. you want your surroundings to look all neat and clean, and same goes for the people you surround yourself with. you wish people saw you as easy to approach, even though you may struggle with your image. you try to be as formal and kind as possible with people you don’t know well, unless they start getting on your nerves by disagreeing with your opinions or being too bossy. you’re very feminine, not only in your looks and manners but also in the way you dress. you’re quite romantic too, and dream of having a perfect marriage. the downside to this aspect is that because you take so much care of yourself, people may mistake your self-love for vanity, especially with your libra stellium. also, your self-esteem may depend too much on others’ opinion of you; you may start thinking you’re ugly and unworthy of love just because someone told you you’re not their type, to sum up.
libra sun conjunct libra mercury: you express your ego and identity through your words and ideas. you’re very opinionated and you protect strongly your beliefs. after all, you probably came up with your ideals after thinking deeply about them, you were too precise to be wrong. you’re also probably an avid reader, and you could do well in writing yourself, as you’re able to properly convey your ideals with your words. also, your heavy libra dominance makes you naturally good at writing poetry, or even philosophical quotes or romance. your mind is very active, and you feel comfortable letting all your thoughts out. it’s actually a way to relieve stress. you also have a wide vocabulary, and you’re capable of making a formal speech if you have to. you have a memorable way of speaking, as your words are very sharp. it’s hard for you to be ignored for your intellect.
🌙 moon in pisces, 2° / 1st decan ruled by neptune
hands down my favourite moon sign! you're extremely empathetic and sensitive, you care a lot about others and you treat others' problems as if they were yours, you get totally immersed in them. you have quite a vivid imagination, you're able to idealize and picture anything you want. while this placement gives you an incredible amount of creativity, it can also make you uncomfortable. in fact, you may actually find yourself imagining every detail of every situation, even the worst ones. let's suppose you hear of a rape at the news; you literally start imagining the scene detail by detail, and it makes you extremely uncomfortable. actually, it literally ruins your mood, as it's as if you actually lived that scene. going back to the creativity matter, you have the soul of an artist; you have very enhanced emotions, and you're able to express them through artistic outlets. you could be amazing at writing poetry, books, art, music... also, your particular empathy of human's intellect can also make you an amazing psychologist or actress, as you're able to understand others' feelings and make them your own. you're extremely spiritual, and if you don't feel like that, you just have yet to have your spiritual awakening. you may be able to talk to spirits, for example, or perhaps you have very meaningful dreams. or maybe, you could literally predict the future through them. you're also most probably an avid daydreamer, you tend to get distracted easily because you're too busy thinking about random scenarios in your head. seriously, you could even make a movie out of them. you're also an hopeless romantic, and you dream of finding not just your spouse, but your literal soulmate. to make it simple, you want all of your daydreams to become reality.
pisces moon opposite leo mars: your feelings are very intense. you may tend to react aggressively, or at least overreact. you feel the constant need to express your emotions, but you also want to be understood by others. you tend to be aggressive because you're actually afraid that others may be the first ones to hurt you. you don't really do it with malice, it's your way to defend yourself from eventual enemies. this placement also indicates that your childhood / family life was or will be quite turbulent, even though I don't really think it's your case as your 4th house ruler isn't harshly aspected at all. to cope with this placement, I'd suggest you to be a little bit more mechanic when you express your feelings. you don't have to hide them, just try not to vent all your anger around.
pisces moon square sagittarius pluto: your emotions are so intense that they almost scare those around you. in fact, you're prone to accentuated mood swings; when you're happy, you start smiling and laughing joyfully. when you're sad, you're the type to cry, scream, even throw up in some cases. that's how far you go with your emotions. maybe, you also feel repressed to express your feelings exactly for this reason. you probably also have a conservative/possessive mother (or just any member of your family), with whom you don't feel at ease expressing your emotions. or maybe, your mother was absent throughout your life. on the other hand, you can understand others' feelings, but be careful not to use it to manipulate others. you could also be very paranoid, and might develop addictions and anxiety disorders, especially with your pisces moon. if you don't feel comfortable speaking to someone you know and there's something you need to talk about, I'd suggest you to do it with a psychologist. don't be afraid to face your emotions, you'll only be able to control them if you get know them.
🗣 mercury in libra, 15° / 2nd decan ruled by venus and uranus
you're very diplomatic! you always try to be nice and gentle with your words, you don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. your tone of voice is extremely soft, sometimes it could even be hard to understand what you say, as you could naturally have a low voice. you're extremely balanced, you have amazing problem-solving skills as you're able to see both side of an argument. it's natural for you to understand what's right and what isn't, and most of the times you're actually right. when you're with someone you're not really close to, you could even be the accommodating type who allows others to speak over your voice, or maybe you let others speak first as a gesture of kindness. I feel like with your jupiter dominance you have very strong opinions, and you're actually particularly proud of them. luckily, this placement makes you able to communicate them with diplomacy. you could often get angry if someone tries to prove you wrong, but aside from that, you try to be very elegant and formal when you speak. you're probably not fond of cursing, or at least you try to appear as mannered as possible with people you're not comfortable around. last but not least, you're such a charismatic, smooth talker that you result very persuasive. you're able to trick people with your words, which appear very diplomatic and calm.
❤️ venus in libra, 2° / 1st decan ruled by venus
love this placement! you're very romantic, and it helps your gemini rising being less flaky. you're not looking for a partner, you're looking for a whole disney prince. you do care about looks when choosing a lover, but not necessarily a conventionally beautiful person. they have to appear perfect to your eyes, and this usually depends on the way they treat you. in fact, you despise vulgar, rude people. people that act like that immediately become unattractive to you. you're also very picky, exactly because you're looking for the perfect lover. you're probably the type to cry at movies. you're also quite of a cliche; you're into roses, romantic dinners, sunsets... anything romantic that you hear about in fairytales. the problem with this placement is that you may overestimate the people you frequent, ending up having different expectations from reality.
☄️ mars in leo, 27° / 3rd decan ruled by the sun and mars
praise and success are what motivate you the most. your main goal in life is being praised for achieving your goals, you wouldn't feel motivated without compliments. therefore, you put energy in things that make you feel confident and noticed, as you enjoy being seen. for example, if you feel confident being well-dressed, you could spend hours in the closet to look how you want. you are very creative, you get an energy boost through creative outlets, and hence your hobbies (reading, writing, dancing, singing, drawing, etc.) recharge your battery. this placement also makes you very extra, especially with people you're close to. you may gesticulate a lot, you could as well enjoy mimicking others' voices. you're basically very dramatic, you seem like an actor when you react, but at least you're very fun and entertaining to watch and listen. this placement, it gives you a strong charisma that, and combined with your heavy libra dominance, it makes it impossible not to notice you. you could overreact from time to time, and you may also be particularly pessimistic, but above all you appear as someone very bold and strong-minded.
leo mars square sagittarius pluto: with this placement, I assume that when you were younger you were some sort of victim. you could have been bullied, for example, you used to be insecure about the way you looked and were. you could have felt different from others, and they took advantage of that to make you feel even more insecure. or maybe, it was a parent, or every authoritative figure in your life, that restricted you from following your own ideals. because of that, now you constantly feel the need to prove yourself. you probably tend to accumulate a lot of anger all together, which you need to let all out or you could explode. you could find comfort in physical ways to relieve stress, like punching bags, slamming doors, etc. or perhaps, when you're angry you just get overwhelmed by all of your emotions. you may cry, scream, even throw up in certain cases. on the other hand, you are extremely magnetic and attractive to others, you naturally draw people towards you. you're also extremely passionate in whatever you do, you put your whole heart in doing things you love.
🏡 houses
your 1st house is in gemini. your ego feels fulfilled when you express your opinions, ideas and creativity. people probably see you as an intelligent, wise individual. maybe even as a know-it-all. you care about both your inner and outer self, which may be the cause of your confidence issues. you try to fit into society, and you tend to change your approach to people based on who you’re interacting with. while this gives you great social skills, it may confuse you quite a bit. in fact, you may forget who you are. you may often have identity crisis, especially since you always feel as if you have to fit somewhere. the ruler of the 1st house, mercury, is in your 4th house: you are quite private, you don't really expose too much of yourself as you prefer showing your true feelings to people you're sure they deserve it, you need to trust someone in order to open up to them. you may also be very fond of your family.
your 2nd house is in cancer. your family, home and cultural background may play a big role in your finances. you may earn money through your family’s business, or maybe you actually work with your family. you may also work from home, especially online/through social media. your adaptability is your greatest strenght; you’re probably good at a different variety of jobs, hence it may not be hard for you to find something to cope before deciding your definite career. this also confirms that your values, self-worth and security were shaped by your roots, childhood and family. the ruler of the 2nd house is in the 9th house: you may earn money through foreign cultures and languages, hence you could be particularly skilled at them. you may work in a multinational agency, or perhaps as an interpreter or translator. you could also earn through teaching or travelling, so perhaps you may have to move constantly for your job.
your 3rd house is in leo. you’re able to express your innovative ideas and creativity in a way that doesn’t go overlooked. you tend to overthink a lot, especially about your theories but, once you’ve made up your mind, no one is gonna make you change idea. you’re confident in your opinions. the downside of this placement is that you may come off as a know-it-all from the way you communicate your thoughts. you also have your leo mars sitting in this house: when you communicate, you take a lot of pride in your opinions. you hate admitting that you’re wrong, especially since you’re a perfectionist. you could be quite impulsive, and you may speak with a naturally loud tone of voice. you’re extremely good at coming up with plans easily, even though you may have troubles sticking to them, as your fiery nature gets easily bored.
your 4th house is in virgo. this is another placement that points out that you lack something due to your family. maybe they couldn’t spend much time with you, as they were busy with work. or maybe, they were overprotective of you, making you insecure. probably even both. this doesn’t mean that you’re hurt, you may not even be aware that you’re lacking a piece of yourself actually. yet, it’s still there, and it influences you a lot on your day-to-day affairs. your physical home was probably very pleasant and beautiful; you may have a conventionally beautiful family, or at least they’re particularly attractive and charming. your house may also be very well-designed and elegant, doesn’t matter how big it is. you probably see your parents as ideal, they are your role models and you look up to them, even though they could have been a bit restrictive from time to time, but nothing too serious, you most likely had a pleasant childhood.
your 5th house is in libra. you’re very creative, and you try to make beauty out of your imagination. you’re probably into music, art, photography, fashion… things like that. you’d also like to experience light romance, and you may enjoy the idea of socializing with others. you feel fulfilled when you’re able to spend time with your loved ones, even though this may make you struggle embracing your indipendence. the ruler of the 5th house is in the 4th house: your hobbies involve spiritual topics, such as astrology, tarots, meditation etc. you probably also love spending your spare time by yourself. you’re quite of a loner, from this point of view, and you may possibly feel sad about it, but it's the best way to charge your battery.
your 6th house is scorpio, with pluto placed here as well. you may be passionate about routine, self-care, health and work, to the point that it looks (and feels) obsessive. you may attract enemies in your daily life, e.g co-workers that are jealous of your ambition. you might have to undergo different changes in your routine and health throughout your life, which can literally transform you both physically and emotionally. the ruler of the 6th house is in the 6th house: you may have pets, or even work with them. you take care of your health, especially to work. you may also work as a doctor with plutonian traits; hence, you could be a psychologist, a therapist etc.
your 7th house is in sagittarius. you want your marriage to be a constant travel for you, in which you can both relax and learn. you want to marry a witty and impulsive partner, that is also fun to live with. you may often find yourself falling for unavailable people, either physically or emotionally (or even both). the fact that jupiter, the ruler of this house, is in the 10th house, indicates that you may meet your future spouse at work, or maybe even abroad, perhaps during a work trip. they may be foreign, or at least they’re able to speak a different language from yours. they could also have a different culture/religion from yours. overall, they're also very wise, outgoing and surprisingly open-minded and philosophical.
your 8th house is in capricorn, with also neptune and uranus sitting there. you may be prone to die old, and you may feel attracted to people that are older or more established than you. you are most probably going to have an unexpected death. or maybe, you’re surrounded by unpredictable events of loss of any kind in your life. you’re fascinated by the occult, and you may even be/been able to talk to dead people. you’re very intuitive, and it’s easy for you to read through people’s words. you may as well have prophetic dreams. with the ruler of the 8th house in the 11th house, you’re likely surronded by karmic friends and people in general. you may argue often with them, and your relationship with is very intense, but that’s because you have karmic lessons to learn, and they’re the ones teaching them to you. it’s something that will get better with time. also, your friends may have the same interests as you, and you could possibly attract wealthy friends too.
your 9th house is in aquarius, with also your moon placed in this house. you’re an avid believer of your philosophical and cultural beliefs. you may be interested in teaching, and you could do it through innovative and technological tools. you’re also interested in foreign music, books, movies and any type of hobby. you may be attracted to genres like thriller, sci-fi… you could also believe in aliens. at school you may be considered particular, almost weird for your interests. you’re open-minded, as you appreciate the differences in people and cultures all over the world. the moon here gives you the natural need to keep grasping information around not only in school but in your life in general, as knowledge is where you find happiness. you hate being told what to do, you want to be free in the decisions you make. you may have to live unexpected situations, as 9th house is also about experiences. you’re the type to feel proud doing something never seen before, as you aspire to be a trend-setter. this may also manifest in your musical, fashion etc. taste. you’re also very opinionated, and you defend your beliefs pretty strongly. the moon is also about roots and childhood, therefore you may have a foreign background to you. with the ruler of the 9th house being in the 8th, you learn a lot about occult topics, such as astrology, tarots, dreams etc.
your 10th house is ruled by pisces, with also jupiter in a tight conjunction with the midheaven. you may be unsure of your future career, or at least indecisive. you may want to do different things, or maybe you have completely no idea. hopefully, the rest of the reading will shed some light on you. usually, people with pisces in the 10th house’s cusp make great healers, hence you may become a doctor of any kind, especially a psychologist. you may also work in the creative, artistic field, e.g you could be an artist, a writer, a musician etc. finding a career is your ultimate goal in life, as it's what makes you happy. it’s pretty much the source of your confidence and energy, what your life revolves around. with the ruler of the 10th house in the 8th, I repeat that you would make an awesome psychologist, as you’re able to understand people’s deeper emotions. you could also work with death in general, so again as a doctor or even as a detective, maybe as a criminologist. also, jupiter rules over foreign languages and cultures, therefore you could work as a stewardess, as a translator, or perhaps even as a teacher or professor.
with the 11th house ruled by aries, you probably attract a lot of people in your life. whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert, you’ll always be able to have someone by your side, even though you may struggle to create stable bonds. friends come and go, basically. you may attract very fierce, almost violent friends. they’re very energetic, and probably extroverted people who like socializing and enjoying life to the fullest. saturn is also placed in this house, meaning that at first you struggle to find friends. you may be very shy and awkward, and you just can’t seem to find someone right for you whom you can truly trust. I don’t have much to say to you regarding this placement, as it’s not badly aspected at all. you may find yourself comfortable with this placement, especially while growing up, as you’re cautious about who you befriend. also, it allows you not to waste time and focus on your duties, but generally it’s something that will get better with time and will naturally give you the ability to relate to others better. as I’ve already mentioned above, you could also have workaholic tendencies to make your dreams come true. the ruler of the 11th house is in the 2nd house: your friends can help you build a reputation, especially since they’re probably quite popular. or maybe, you could actually work with them. generally speaking, you may come across powerful people in your life that will help you boost your self-esteem and career path. you may also meet your true friends at work, or at least while growing up. you probably didn’t have many stable bonds during your teenage years.
lastly, your 12th house is in the sign of taurus. you’re secretly sensitive and affectionate, but you may have issues finding it out at first. in fact, the center of your life is your own intellectuality, these venusian traits are probably yet to develop. you may feel attracted to spirituality, but you’re quite lazy to actually dive into it. using tools like meditation, astrology etc. are important for you to understand what you truly need from life. your 12th house’s ruler is in the 4th house: getting in touch with your hidden, subconscious and higher self will be crucial to help you grow up and gain more awareness of yourself. you may be interested in topics like astrology, psychology etc. most likely to get to know yourself, but your chart points out that you could easily develop some sort of psychic qualities after your spiritual awakening.
❤️ love life, soulmates
in love, you attract sagittarius, capricorn, scorpio and libra placements. your future spouse may also have libra/scorpio energy, maybe a libra - scorpio cusp. you need someone who’s charming, respectful, romantic and polite, but that can also stand up for themselves with no hesitation. you’re also into the magnetic, sexy type. you’re looking for someone independent, but that wouldn’t mind dedicating their time to you. you may feel unlucky in love, as your sagittarius descendant makes you attract people that are usually unavailable, whether it’s physically (they’re abroad) or emotionally. you may marry someone of a different culture/country/religion from yours. you may also meet and marry abroad. you may meet through your family, or maybe at your workplace as I’ve already mentioned before. they could also be someone very well known in their career field, or perhaps they may even be famous. you could also meet them in a place where people usually relax, such as a bar or at the restaurant. your children will most probably have very prominent venus energy, hence libra or taurus; they’ll love to be spoiled with affection, they’ll love material things like toys, food, clothes etc. but they’ll also be very mannered and elegant.
👶🏻 family life
your mother is probably very hard-working, and she has a strong role in your family. she loves being spoiled and appreciated, together with receiving attention. yet, she could sometimes be quite superficial because of that, but deep down she’s very romantic and mannered. she may have leo placements, or maybe virgo, taurus, libra, gemini or virgo. your father is a bit softer than your mother, and he might be a pisces or have any type of fire/sagittarius placement in his chart. your father could be a bit moody and / or unpredictable, and he may also have some addictions in the worst case. yet, he also has a very sweet and outgoing side to him that he may struggle to let out. if you have siblings, they’re probably leos/ fire signs. you have a very pleasant relationship with them, you're all very playful and generous and you used to always stand up for each other, even though there could have been a bit of competition.
📊 career
as I’ve already mentioned above, you could work abroad, or at least with different languages/cultures. you’re probably naturally talented in this field, it would be a shame to overlook it. you also most likely have great communication skills and writing abilities. you’re very logical and precise, you’d definitely do well in a field that requires calm and organization. I can also picture you being an amazing teacher or even professor. based on your other placements, you could also do well at literally any creative career! you may be a dancer, a singer, or even something more complex like a creative director. otherwise, you could also be successful as a designer, an architect, a scientist… something that allows you to be mostly independent, but that can still guarantee you mental stimulation and a decent income, and that also allows you to use your creative neptunian energy. last but not least, I also see you being an incredible healer, therefore you would make a skilled therapist, psychologist or even a nurse.
👚 fashion sense, style analysis
you’re very traditional about your clothes, maybe even basic. you’re the type to have lots of essential clothes in your wardrobe, e.g a white shirt, white t-shirt, jeans etc. you love wearing sophisticated, elegant fits. for example, you may be fond of wide leg jeans, or maybe flare trousers, boatneck sweaters, tiny jewellery… things like that, that are always a must have. you may fancy pastel colors, or even neutral shades like black, white, grey, beige etc. you’re also the type to follow fashion trends.
👁 past life, life purpose
during this lifetime, it is probably easy for you to get out of your comfort-zone. you don't mind learning, making new experiences and challenging yourself, but this lifetime you don't need to go that far. you need to prove that what you learned in your past life is the key to nurture your skills, and be able to apply them in a smaller environment. you may find yourself travelling a lot, gaining lots of widsom from your experiences... in this lifetime, you basically need to learn through the experiences you gained in your previous life to communicate your thoughts. you need to understand how to communicate who you are to the world.
🤔 major transits analysis / may 14
jupiter just entered pisces today, and it will stay in this sign until july. this is an extremely positive time for you! in fact, having the planet of abundance and luck conjunct the planet of your subconscious, means that you're able to manifest anything you want in this span of time! try to keep a positive mindset during these months, as the universe has your back. everything you manifest will come 2x faster to you, it's the best period for you to focus on what you truly want to achieve in tour your life.
🧿 manifest what you want, secret skills
with your water placements, you probably have a 6th sense. you’re able to manifest what you want if you subconsciously predict it, even though it may be hard. you’d have to get in touch with your higher self to do so, and hence I would suggest you to light up some candles and meditate for a bit before manifesting, in this way it will be way more effective. you may manifest something while daydreaming, for example. or perhaps, you can also try listening to your own affirmations while you sleep, as you won’t be consciously aware of that. it’s probably the most effective way.
and this is the end! thank you again for booking a reading, hope it resonated with you :)

My Journaling Experience and What I want you to know about it.
I think out of all the years of journaling which btw are many, it was in the year 2019 that I journaled the most that too handwritten and that's because of many reasons like it was in the year 2019 itself that I left home and moved to a hostel pretty far away from home and started college, I had begun to second doubt my choice to study law and I had plenty health troubles and time management issues plus my anxiety had increased due to all of these above-mentioned reasons. And believe it or not, my only savior was journaling, especially Brain Dump and Free Stream of Consciousness and whenever I did a Free Stream of Consciousness I would end up with poetry or something similar and this is why my journaling practice is also my creative outlet but either way, journaling is very distressing to me and here is why:-
I always look at my journal as a safe place to be completely raw with and in, if I wish to rant without bothering any human out there I can do so right here if I have something to complain about without getting judged for it I can do it right here if I have some negative disturbing thoughts to share that maybe can hurt other people if I tell them I can instead just do it right here and if I don't wish to rely on my memory, I can jot down anything important or necessary right here. You see how appealing it sounds, the best part is that no one else has to be involved in this but you and this platform wherever you choose to journal, digitally or handwritten in a journal/notebook/paper ... and another is that you can always store these entries and come back to them to analyze your own thoughts and feelings and understand yourself deeply and see it the way it is. Often such practices bring out your subconscious needs and desires to the surface and help you understand yourself even better. You can also find destructive thinking patterns that you may have and also record your progress if you have made any.
I find Journaling to be the best way to self reflect and to check in with myself to truly understand how I am doing mentally/psychologically, spiritually, and so on...
I have noticed that journaling also helps you to recognize the feelings and thoughts that you didn't know even existed and to have awareness of them is always the first step isn't it, then you can read them and analyze whether any of this is good or bad for you, is it serving you or not and so on. But these aren't the only uses of a journal, your journal can also act as your planner side by side and a gratitude diary and a habit tracker and can also contain various lists. Journaling is the best way to measure different parts of our lives that we want to manage intentionally. This can as well be the place where you can keep a record of everything that matters to you, you can even talk about your dreams or write letters to the universe or write your desires or a note to the higher self .. if you are into that stuff. There is so much that you can do in it.
I will in my later posts talk about various journaling practices mentioned here and more till then here are my final words, journaling as a practice helps you become your own best friend and also acts as a therapist on the other hand. In return, all it asks you is to stay true to this platform wherever you choose to journal. You don't even have care about your punctuation or grammar or spellings or handwriting, you can cuss here as much as you want to I swear and you can even decorate it or leave it plain. You must let it become a safe place that you can come back to and tell everything to without any bias and this place will simply allow you to do so without any judgments.
Keep Journaling my lovelies !! Till then have a good day wherever you are however you are ;)

Astrology: Midheaven or Medium Coeli (MC or Middle Sky)
In Astrology, the Midheaven is on the cusp of the tenth house on the natal chart. It is one of the most important angles on the chart and the highest point on the chart... the three other angles being Imum Coeli (IC, directly opposite to Midheaven), the Ascendant (ASC or Rising) and the Descendant (DSC).
The Midheaven represents our most visible achievements and reputation in the eyes of society, our public “face” (as opposed to our more personal “face” at the Ascendant), our accomplishments, and our overall sense of responsibility and standing in the world/society. Midheaven represents our career goals and our aspirations and how we go about earning it.
You can also use your Midheaven Sign to understand your personal and spiritual goals. You can gain insight into why you react the way you do to stressful situations. Being social is different for everyone. The MC can help you learn to trust your best social qualities to cultivate. It will show you how others perceive you. This can help you ascertain if your public "face" is helpful to you or not.
Aries Midheaven
If your Midheaven is in Aries, you surge toward new careers many times in life, with some false starts abandoned. This gives you an edge in the current atmosphere (with the need to change careers), and a willingness to forge ahead in new areas. A need to be boss opens the door for self-employment. You are the dynamic leader, whether on stage, in the military, in sports, business, law, politics. A naturally competitive (and combative) public persona brings you success in a fighting role in whatever field you choose.
You're not afraid to take daring risks, and that sets you apart. You like to be a trailblazer and can be a model in these times for great leaps into the evolutionary future.
Taurus Midheaven
People with a Midheaven in Taurus prefer to sink into a secure, hands-on career that has good prospects for generating wealth. You're skilled with earth-moving, building, shaping kinds of life work—sculpture, landscaping, gardening, architecture, real estate, antiques, and farming. This Venus-ruled Midheaven also leads you to create beauty. You shine when natural skills find a channel in visual arts, decorating, home renovation, performance arts, music, and crafts. You're able to see where the opportunities are in business and make the most of them, either as a financial world player or investor.
Gemini Midheaven
You aspire to cast a wide mental net, catch all the information you can, and shape it into new forms. This gives you gifts in fields like journalism, performance, teaching, writing, the Arts, design, and fashion. Your gift of gab helps you excel in sales, business, public relations, advertising, and being a 'spokesperson.' You enjoy work that puts you in the middle of chaos, change, excitement and a swift current of ideas.
You're a weaver of seemingly disparate threads that are part of the whole. This makes you an asset to society as a commentator, observer, translator, and broadcaster. Your kind of fluid intelligencecan be an eye-opener to more rigid minds. This gives you an important role, as a messenger of changes in thinking.
Cancer Midheaven
You come across to the public as intuitive, caring, and able to read situations on a deep level. Some possible fields for you are pediatrics, healing therapies, child care, and education, intelligence services, and social support. Your ability to tune into emotional moods makes you good at influencing others in public service, or in commercial fields like advertising, marketing. You are trusted and liked, and this helps you form webs of support that help you in your career through word of mouth.
Leo Midheaven
With your Midheaven in Leo, you've got a commanding presence that works well in many fields, including government, teaching, acting, sales, management. You bring color to your leadership style and might have creative talent, too. An over-the-top personality that lights up the room makes it easy for you to make the right connections. You could enjoy fun jobs like wedding or party planning, import-export, being the big boss of your own company. You'll enjoy cultivating a public style, and like to be in the spotlight.
You're apt to be popular in your community, with a wide sphere of influence. You strive to be in the "Who's Who" and don't mind dropping names to get ahead. Flash, dynamism, warmth, generosity—all these traits cause you to leave a lasting impression.
Virgo Midheaven
You like to have a stable routine in your chosen work and be immersed in detailed fine-tuning kinds of activities. An analyzing mind makes you a thorough researcher, writer, teacher, librarian, public servant, or data collector. You don't mind specializing, and might be drawn into particular fields of science or medicine. Those with earthy charts channel that love of a daily rhythm into farming, healing, alternative medicine. You make your mark as someone that works hard and has high integrity, along with a sense of duty and service.
Your work may involve healing the Earth, purifying the body of dis-ease, teaching others about the inter-dependence of systems. You could find fulfillment in holistic health fields, literature, creating healing environments like spas, health food stores or yoga centers.
Libra Midheaven
With a Midheaven in Libra, you have a polished, sociable public persona that allows you to make good connections. You project an image of fairness and flexibility. A versatile attitude allows you to go with the flow and adjust your career path as times change. Your eye for what's in style translates well to image consulting, decorating, the arts, entertainment media. But you're just as likely to go for intellectual careers, like law, politics, public policy, diplomacy, or writing. Your sense of balance and high level of integrity makes you a sought-after partner in any business.
Having charm in spades makes you a good interviewee, and inspires others to help you up the ladder of success.
Scorpio Midheaven (This is me)
You're able to go deeply into one field of endeavor and become an expert researcher, leaving no stone unturned. Your penetrating mind is both respected and feared by colleagues. You excel in areas like depth psychology, criminal investigating, hypnosis, dramatic arts, or social sciences. You prefer to have long periods to work in solitude without interruption. You might make your mark by transforming waste into something reusable. You shine light into the shadows and are not afraid to tread in dark, primal psychic territory.
This could lead you to energy healing work, sex therapy (Tantra). or soul retrieval. You're good at spotting hidden motives, and this serves you in any endeavor. You're likely to undergo a metamorphosis several times, possibly changing careers.
Sagitarrius Midheaven
People with Midheavens in Sagittarius are expansive and open to inter-disciplinary fields. Drawn to sharing what you know with others, through teaching, counseling or as a spiritual quester and guide. You're the eternal student and thrive in life work that allows you to research, investigate, explore, philosophize and connect dots. Some such fields are higher education, the clergy, journalism, languages, writing, photography, filmmaking, and theatre. Travel unlocks new possibilities, as you weave in cross-cultural influences, ideas, and wisdom.
Capricorn Midheaven
You're suited to climbing personal mountains and have a heightened level of endurance to reach your goals. Those with earthy charts veer into fields like farming, real estate, food product businesses, horticulture. This is a mega-ambitious Midheaven and one that gears you toward stability, wealth-building and slow, sure steps to success. Your public persona is serious and determined, and this earns you respect. You make use of your time and resources and know how to gain support from others.
Aquarius Midheaven
You bring an unconventional attitude to your life's work and you love excitement, glamour, and originality. You're willing to follow a genius idea to its fruition, even if that means bucking tradition and being labeled a rebel in your field. It's possible, you'll make sudden breakthroughs that gain you notoriety. You are challenged by gadgets and cosmic science and could be drawn into astronomy, astrology, computer science, engineering.
But you're just as likely to ride the currents of trends, in fashion, design, experimental art, and music. You may make your mark as an instigator for social change, especially progressive causes that you believe will better humanity. You might find special interest in the idea of extra-terrestrial life, and pursue it as part of your quest to go beyond the usual limits of thought.
Pieces Midheaven
You shine in fields where you're able to swim in deep waters. Pisces is a very creative Mid-heaven, that sets you up to be an artist, performer, a healer, a friend to kids and animals, and use your intuition as a tool. Your strength is your sensitivity, but also may keep you from claiming your full potential. Your gift is to shape the collective messages, through song, story, nurturing, spiritual teachings, and just by being who you are.
You may be drawn to working on or near the water, and have the ability to tune into non-verbal kinds of communication (animals, marine life, nature spirits, elementals, inter-dimensional beings). Pisces rules the feet, and this could lead to work as a reflexologist, podiatrist or just someone that loves to give/receive foot massages!
Which one are you?
Much love to all... go in peace my friends

Welcome, O life! I go to encounter for the millionth time the reality of experience and to forge in the smithy of my soul the uncreated conscience of my race myself, bitch.
James Joyce -- Ulysses (with some much needed editing)
I haven’t written here in a long time. In fact, after this post, I don’t really see myself writing here every again-- and no, before any of you (if there is, in fact, any one who will see this) jump to conclusions, this isn’t some kind of weird suicide note, or plea for help. What this is, is a sort of manifesto, or a summation, of everything that I’ve felt, and am feeling at the moment, and in a way, hopefully, purging myself of these feelings forever. It’s a goodbye, but also a new opportunity. A creation, as well as a destruction. A final litany of things that I have to say, or wanted to say, and a final exorcism of numerous antagonistic little ghosts that have been rattling around in my head for God knows how long.
I’ve always been struck by the concept of a sort of Joycean paralysis. Maybe because it’s true-- that Irish people are, in a weird way, struck with a sort of deep, abiding, spiritual malaise, a psychological and emotional paralysis, as a sort of weird, post-colonial hangover-- or maybe because it simply hits too close to home. The narrative of a sort of genealogical, archaeological torpor is one that is all too easy to believe, because it is something that I have experienced quiet viscerally throughout my entire life, but also in a way that is difficult to articulate. The sense that you’re fundamentally at odds with the world around you because of some fundamental, spiritual displacement resulting from years (centuries?) of imperialistic and religious abuse isn’t something that goes well over dinner, after all-- especially when dinner is a hurriedly bought Burger King and the sound of mopeds careening up and down the Cardiffsbridge Road muffles the sound of Coronation Street on the television.
But it’s a feeling that has stuck with me so long. Longer than I can really remember. This sense of being held back. By myself, by the world around me, by the people around me. Dreams of leaving, of emigrating, have been a consistent fantasy of mine. Occasional spurts of creative writing have always been characterized by the theme of a departure, whether through the realm of some childish Tolkien-esque fantasy or through a plane ticket that randomly fell into the protagonist’s (read: my) lap. That feeling of momentary, ontological vertigo, when the plane leaves the ground and you can feel yourself lifted in that miniature pocket of zero-gravity, is a sensation that I’ve craved and chased (either literally, or figuratively) whenever possible, with varying degrees of success. I even had, at one point, a bit of a miniature breakdown (you know those ones, where they creep up on you, where you have this vague sense that at any minute things are just going to collapse all around you, and nothing will ever be the same) and I started doing some pretty illegal things to get money (fill in the blanks there however you wish) in order to essentially run away, get a plane ticket to somewhere, and just start afresh. But that did crash down, either way-- I started having some viscerally severe panic attacks; I felt like I was going to be trapped here, forever, that I was going to die here, that all the dreams and aspirations I had of doing something worth while were just gonna be swallowed up the dull, plot-less relentlessness with which life here seemed to drive itself--arguably into the ground. I attended counselling, got a professional, objective perspective, and was able to get to grips with things. The anxiety stopped. The borderline insane drive to escape was lulled, and while the gnawing sense of there being a sort of hole, at the center of everything, dissipated, it didn’t quite disappear. I was, once again, able to manage, and plod right along.
Over time, I’ve come to terms with the fact that my sense of malaise is not, in fact, the result of some kind of literarily prescribed sense of paralysis-- or, at least, not entirely. It is the result of years, perhaps arguably even decades, of mistreatment. By a family and a home that is so deeply dysfunctional that it is, legitimately, tragic. By an early upbringing so neglected and isolated that, to look back and take an earnest look, is genuinely pathetic. By a mindset and by people who see who I am and see something to laugh at. I’ve slowly come to terms with the fact that my family have never quite seen me seriously, as someone incompetent, flowery, soft, and not worth paying attention to. Years, again, potentially decades of subtle gaslighting, invalidation, negation, criticism, patronizing, condescension-- all compounded by shitty, so-called friends, who were all too happy to take advantage of my desire to please and turn it around on me-- had resulted in a person who had so much self-doubt, such a negative self-image, such a horrible sense of failure that, to further disappoint, would result in self-harm. Decades of having my life dictated to me, taking up responsibility and accepting the burden of my family’s terrible choices, of having my potential and my opportunities circumscribes by what seems to be the endlessly unfolding soap opera of my extended family’s self-inflicted pain.  And the worst part is that I simply thought all of this was normal. The concept of Joycean paralysis was able to help me understand, in a vague sense, what was really wrong, but only hindered me in truly understanding its origin.
I worry that if I go on like this I’ll only end up sounding like some kind of serially self-pitying asshole, one of those people that advertises their personal trauma and tragedy as a means to win the Sadsack Olympics, or obtain sympathy, or blame their lack of success and fulfillment on their past. But in the end, that isn’t what this is about. That isn’t the reason why I’m writing this post. In fact, the reason why I am writing this is far more joyous, written with a deep smile spreading across my face. I’ve spent my entire life orientating around myself around other people, of pleasing other people, and I’ve gotten very, very good at figuring out what is that people want, and giving it to them. What I’ve learned, an what I’ve finally gotten the balls to do, is do what I want. I’ve learned to say no. I’ve learned to pursue what I want, to accrue self-confidence, self-love, self-esteem. I’ve learned to deny people, to put myself first, and tell people who need to be told what for. I’ve learned that to be “good” is to give in, to do as I’ve told and take it all on the chin, and I’ve learned that to be “bad” is to pursue what I want, and to rebel. And, fundamentally, I’ve learned that when I am good, I am very, very good, but when I am bad I am FUCKING FIERCE.
So I am leaving. In fact, I’ve been planning on leaving for quite some time now. Since March, roughly. I am moving to the U.K, getting away from this place, to spend time with people who I have chosen to spend my time with, that I have build up relationships purely of my own choosing and initiative, and whom I trust. To build a life that I choose to build, for myself, and shirking off as much of the trauma, pain, insecurities and self-doubt as I can. Psychiatrist Harry Stack Sullivan believed that the core motivating force in all human behavior was anxiety, and not just anxiety, but the creative and ornate ways we go about avoiding or managing it. According to him, a personality was simply a collection of habits and strategies people gathered over time to “avoid or minimize anxiety, ward off disapproval, and maintain self-esteem.” What I’ve learned, personally, is the sheer liberating power of identifying and deconstructing the aspects of my own psychology that are life-limiting, and taking great joy in completely and utterly destroying the ones that are build up anxious defense mechanisms. I would be lying if I said that it wasn’t scary, because when these mechanisms fall I’ll be thrust, head first, into facing the things I am most deeply afraid of—social rejection and abandonment, unworthiness and failure, unlovability and isolation, to name a few. But it is liberating because I’ve come to realize that, yes, our defenses serve a function, but no, we don’t actually need all of them to survive-- and then, suddenly, an entirely new life is possible. I’ve come to realize that I actually CAN tolerate anxiety; I CAN live with not being liked, I CAN be misunderstood, I CAN make mistakes, I CAN feel bad. And let me tell you, it is a relief. God is sometimes understood as a creator, but he can also be understood as a destroy-- And I am choosing to be the God of my own goddamn life, and taking great pleasure in destroying that which I don’t like.
I’ve ended up prescribing some great, symbolic significance to the act of me leaving. It is me righteously striking back at all the things that had made me hate myself in the past, because they couldn’t simply tolerate hating themselves and needed to destroy me in order to feel better. And so, to them, I say:
Fuck my family, who have done nothing to actually foster and cultivate who I am as a human being
Fuck the people who have turned my own kindness against me and made me doubt myself
Fuck the people who have made me feel as though my command of words is a weakness-- I am a fucking fantastic writer, and I dare any of those people to challenge me, because I’ll write them into the fucking ground.
Fuck the people who made me doubt my intelligence; I am more than smart enough to figure things out for myself and smart enough, at least now, to see them for the self-hating, jealous troglodytes they are.
Fuck this place that has made me feel that who I am is wrong, and lesser, and subordinate-- I am worthy, and powerful, and capable.
Fuck this country, and its backwards, stagnant, repressive culture
FUCK
YOU
And that’s it. There’s my gigantic, theatrical display of radical self-acceptance. In a way, what I want to do is leave, and never come back. To delete all my social media, and start afresh. But I know that’s not realistic. I know I have to tether myself to “home”, as much as I disagree with the idea this place is truly home. I will say this, however-- there are parts of my experience here, and my life thus far, that have been wonderful. I’ve got a handful of genuinely fantastic friends, and I’ve forged some very important memories with them. To burn those bridges would be unforgivable, and I would never be able to do that to them.
It’s 2:16am. I was already exhausted but I had to write this and get it all off my chest. But this is it-- me signing off, forever. Let this be a testament to everything I want to be, an will be, from here on out.

Acid against austerity.
When cultural theorist, author, and blogger Mark Fisher passed away in 2017, he left behind an unfinished book manuscript. Acid Communism: On Post-Capitalist Desire was to continue the project of his 2009 book Capitalist Realism: Is There No Alternative? In Capitalist Realism, Fisher wrote that decades of deregulation had all but fully destroyed our ability to imagine viable alternatives to capitalism. If we couldn’t envision a better world, he declared, there could be little hope that such a world would manifest. Capitalist Realism was by no means defeatist, though. The book concludes with a call to action: Fisher draws attention to what he saw as the most urgently needed political resource. If the future we want lies at the limits of our imagination we must begin there — with the creative, unruly parts of our consciousness, that parts that capital wants to claim as its own. The current political nightmare, he suggests, will only be defeated by vibrant dreams.
In this spirit, Acid Communism was meant to strengthen the political imagination. A recently published anthology of Fisher’s writings includes a draft for the introduction, which reads something like a manifesto. Fisher had taken a cue from his friend Jeremy Gilbert, a scholar who had long maintained that the sixties might serve as a blueprint for contemporary leftist revolution. Inspired by Gilbert, Fisher coined the phrase that would become the title for his next book: “acid communism” represents the idea that psychologically profound experiences — including the use of psychedelic drugs — should be used to galvanize anticapitalist movements. In the introduction, he observes that the optimism of the hippie-era left had faded during the heyday of Reagan and Thatcher. Neoliberal economics catalyzed widespread cynicism, Fisher claimed, and in so doing depleted the mental energy required for proactive organizing. We now owed it to ourselves to revive the hopeful politics that flourished in the sixties.
In the wake of Fisher’s suicide, several activist initiatives took up the Acid Communist banner. The 2018 transmediale festival, an annual arts and culture event in Berlin, included a workshop called “Building Acid Communism.” Workshop leaders gave the audience a series of prompts aimed at “unveiling and exploring the precise idea of freedom” that motivated left-wing activists. These questions inquired into how participants experienced boredom, whether fashion and style mattered to their political identity, and the last time they felt truly free from work, among other issues. Meanwhile, a spate of recent articles about Acid Communism reflect the multiple ways it might be interpreted. In one editorial, Jeremy Gilbert points out that the concept has taken on other names, including “freak left,” “psychedelic socialism,” and in the UK, “Acid Corbynism.” Acid Corbynism is referenced in the title for Gilbert’s new podcast, #ACFM (Acid Corbynism FM), which investigates “the links between Left-wing politics and culture, music and experiences of collective joy.” Although they are eclectic, these endeavors agree that the psychedelic sixties might make a reappearance in the political future. The work of Acid Communism, it seems, is just beginning.
The timing is apropos. Currently, we are in the midst of what some have called a “psychedelic renaissance,” referring to the revival of scientific interest in the psychiatric use of these drugs. Psychedelic psychiatry was a burgeoning field in the postwar period, but by the seventies the criminalization of all psychedelic drugs had brought investigations to an effective halt. After years of advocacy by researchers and psychedelic enthusiasts, clinical investigations of LSD, magic mushrooms, and related chemicals resumed in the nineties. 2014 saw the first peer-reviewed study on LSD published in over forty years, and the number of clinical trials is rapidly growing. Until recently, however, the psychedelic renaissance could not be considered mainstream. Its breakthrough moment came with the publication of Michael Pollan’s 2018 book How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence. Reaching the top spot on the New York Times bestseller list, How to Change Your Mind was a watershed moment for the reputation of psychedelics. Pollan is a widely-respected journalist, and much of the current research is being conducted at well-known universities; Stanford, Johns Hopkins, and NYU all currently have psychedelic research labs. This is encouraging to those who have long known what researchers are now trying to prove: when used safely, psychedelics can vastly improve one’s quality of life.
Although Acid Communism stands to benefit from the improved public image of psychedelics, these movements have yet to meaningfully overlap. I’ve been keeping close watch on both. My interest in the two subjects began around the same time, during my sophomore year in college. This was the fall of 2008. I was already skeptical of the US economy, but the financial crash confirmed my suspicion that capitalism was dangerous and unethical. That same fall marked my introduction to psychedelic drug experience. My initial encounter with LSD was overwhelmingly positive. It made believe that that the world was joyful, mysterious, and full of promise — an impression which contrasted sharply with the current political mood. In an attempt to reconcile my psychedelic-inspired hopeful outlook with extenuating social circumstances, I started participating in anti-capitalist and pro-peace activism. The fall of 2008 made it impossible for me to separate my political sensibilities from the hopefulness that psychedelia represents for me. But I’ve rarely seen psychedelics politicized this way in contemporary pop culture. I’d just assumed that after the sixties, psychedelic experiences could not be framed as political in mainstream discourse.
For the most part, then, I’ve pursued these subjects as separate intellectual endeavors. Both have continued to be central to my life. In 2013, I moved to New York City to pursue a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management. Although I hardly had time for anything other than school, I volunteered to help out at an after-party for Horizons NYC, which is an international forum on the science and culture of psychedelic drugs. Held every October, Horizons brings together researchers, artists and spiritual leaders to give talks on topics ranging from the globalization of the psychedelic brew ayahuasca to the use of magic mushrooms in treating cocaine addiction. My schedule of classes and work prevented me from attending any lectures. Volunteering offered me partial access to this complicated, interesting world.
“If the future we want lies at the limits of our imagination we must begin there — with the creative, unruly parts of our consciousness, that parts that capital wants to claim as its own.”
The night began with a dinner for benefactors of MAPS — the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies — a non-profit promoting psychedelic research based in Santa Cruz, CA. As we relayed kale salad and vegan cheesecake across the kitchen, my friend Nina pulled me aside. “This is weird,” she whispered, nodding toward the dining room. I knew what she meant. The venue was a lavishly-appointed brownstone belonging to a moneyed Manhattan couple. It bore little resemblance to the psychedelic settings we knew and loved: earthy, DIY spaces which would no more readily welcome conspicuous displays of wealth like the one before us than then they would a visit from law enforcement. The guests didn’t match the hippie image we associated with psychedelics either. Their conversation flowed from remarks about exotic vacation getaways to opinions on Brooklyn’s finest private schools.
This shouldn’t have been a surprise. It was a benefit dinner, after all. But I still found the atmosphere unsettling. At the time, the economic crisis of 2008 was beginning to hit me hard. Not long before the conference, I’d watched a close friend become homeless. The tiny heart attack that happened whenever I used my debit card to buy groceries — the I-hope-there’s-enough-in-my-bank-account panic — had become a normal part of my reality, and I was resigning myself to the possibility that things might never get easier. A large part of me felt psychedelic activism to be extravagant in this climate. But I didn’t want the therapeutic use of psychedelics, a cause I’d believed in for years, to become yet another victim of late capitalism.
I tried to keep that idealistic thought at the front of my mind as the night continued. If anything, I assured myself, I should be glad to meet so many psychedelic enthusiasts who appealed to more conservative perspectives. After all, I reasoned, a controversial movement needs allies in the mainstream. Still, I couldn’t help but resent the guests for their seeming obliviousness to the current state of affairs. I wondered if they’d ever drawn a connection between their immunity to the war on drugs and their economic status, and if so, how much this bothered them. I wondered if they’d achieved some sort of enlightenment — perhaps thanks to psychedelics — that somehow made them both socially conscious and comfortable with their personal wealth. Even if participating in this space represented to me giving up some integrity, I wanted in on this insight. I was tired of feeling hopeless.
Although the luxe setting was unfamiliar, that would not be my last experience with psychedelic activism. My interest in hallucinogens followed me to my PhD in critical theory, where I explore the new psychedelic science in my dissertation. Throughout all these years, my social commitments have felt at odds with the pervasive cliché of hippie escapism. There is some truth to the myth of the disengaged drug-user: a friend of mine in the scene once said that, having attained a non-dualistic state of enlightenment, he “saw through” all political opinions. Other psychedelic explorers I’ve met intentionally ignore current events, claiming politics to be too depressing them. But, like a lot of common depictions of drug use, this is more fiction than fact. The consumption of LSD and magic mushrooms is no more likely to promote apathy than caffeine and alcohol. Moreover, in the age of Donald Trump and the rise of the new far-right, more and more people are realizing that their individual lives are ineluctably political. Political consciousness has extended to modern New Age subcultures, which now appear more thoroughly engaged with issues of justice than they did when I was an undergrad.
Tumblr media
The Acid Communist movement has helped me view my politics as part of a historical lineage, not a misappropriation of serious Leftism. It’s helped me embrace the idea that if the experience of tripping had a message for society at large — if it aspired beyond the self-indulgence embodied in Timothy Leary’s “turn on, tune in, drop out” — it would threaten the very basis of capital. While the economic virtue of individualism rules over the modern psyche, any dedicated hippie will tell you that hallucinogens offer quite the opposite. These substances tend to break the flow of self-directed thought patterns, leading to a sense of unity with one’s environment. This state of mind is inherently communal and collectivist, and because of that, it’s easy to see how it could heighten sensitivity to political concerns. This is the connection that Fisher was to expound upon in his new book. We can now only speculate on what he might have said.
It would be wrong, however, to portray Fisher as the emblem of the movement. By Jeremy Gilbert’s account, anti-proprietary virtues are key to the concept. As a diverse set of ideas united by a collectivist ethos, appointing a figurehead would make little sense. But if such a title were to be given, Gilbert, not Fisher, may be the more worthy candidate. In a 2017 article titled “Psychedelic Socialism: The Politics of Consciousness, the Legacy of the Counterculture and the Future of the Left,” Gilbert offers some frank words on the difficulties he faced — and still faces — developing the notion in Fisher’s absence: “‘Acid Communism’ was Mark’s term for a political and analytical position that he’d derived more than a little from my work and interests,” he writes. “But it would be totally against the spirit of those shared ideas and priorities to attribute ownership or authorship of any of these ideas to anybody.”
So while Fisher appears to have owed Gilbert more credit than he gave, saying as much might be in bad faith. And, indeed, reducing Acid Communism to a particular thinker or even a cohort of thinkers would miss the point. While researching this article, I interviewed Gilbert, who offered some historical answers to the question of who might claim rightful ownership to Acid Communism. Although lighthearted in spirit, the sixties counterculture was profoundly critical of the bourgeois subject — the individual who sees herself as isolated and therefore acts out of self-interest rather than the common good. On principle, therefore Acid Communism cannot be represented by one person or group. This perspective bears a direct connection to political theories that emerged from Europe in the thirties and forties. Both Gilbert and Fisher link the postwar counterculture to the radical vision of the Frankfurt School, a circle of theorists associated with the Institute for Social Research at the Goethe University in Frankfurt. Its luminaries told of a structural relationship between individualism, capitalism and authoritarianism. With these warnings, it attempted to both retroactively account for fascism and prevent its future resurgence.
“A large part of me felt psychedelic activism to be extravagant in this climate. But I didn’t want the therapeutic use of psychedelics to become yet another victim of late capitalism.”
Unlike the Frankfurt School, Acid Communism deliberately operates outside of academia, which makes it more widely accessible than movements developed mainly inside institutional frameworks. Some of Acid Communism’s strategies include freely disseminating texts and speeches: Plan C, an England-based collective in the UK that produces festivals, includes on its website blog posts and videos of Mark Fisher’s Acid Communism lectures. But Jeremy Gilbert, a member of Plan C, acknowledges that the immediacy and immersiveness of psychedelic feelings demands non-intellectual modes of invocation. He views his work as a dance party organizer as part of his political pursuits. So while there’s certainly no ban on digital organizing, real-world gatherings appear crucial to a new psychedelic Left.
Toward this end, Gilbert and Fisher both explored the viability of incorporating old-school “consciousness-raising” events in a psychedelic framework. First developed by socialist feminists in the 1970s, consciousness-raising encourages participants to share stories about struggles normally conceived as private and shameful. The idea is that when people tune in to others’ narratives of hardship — which may include accounts of mental illness, social isolation and poverty — such problems are revealed as not an exception, but the norm. In his essay “No Romance Without Finance,” Fisher writes that “as soon as two or more people gather together, they can start to collectivise the stress that capitalism ordinarily privatizes. Personal shame becomes dissolved as its structural causes are collectively identified.” When community is built around shared struggle, feelings of alienation are modulated by feelings of solidarity.
Telling stories in this consciousness-raising spirit is key, but making and listening to music might be an equally powerful consciousness-raising technique. At concerts, Fisher writes, “a mass audience could not only experience its feelings being validated, it could locate the origins of those feelings in oppressive structures.” The current popularity of free-spirited music festivals might be framed as a reaction to neoliberal malaise. While modern festivals aren’t as explicitly political as, say, Occupy Wall Street, they do permit attendees to transcend the capitalist reality of dullness and detachment. It’s not just that people directly encounter joy, but that this joy is amplified by the presence of so many others. And at festivals, psychedelic drug use abounds. “Psychedelic drugs gave birth to the modern-day music festival,” points out journalist Kevin Franciotti. “There would have been no Woodstock without LSD.” It matters just as much that the historic Woodstock Festival also has a political history. The anti-Vietnam War movement was at least as essential to Woodstock as drug use. Jeremy Gilbert and the Plan C collective maintain that politics still go hand in hand with festival culture.
The politicization of tripping and trippy art raised my suspicion, however. Political thinkers have long raised been skeptical of a connection between aesthetics and politics. The difficulties of rendering politics as art and vice versa were a major topic of Frankfurt School publications. During our interview, I asked Gilbert about German-Jewish philosopher Walter Benjamin’s essay “The Work of Art In The Age Of Mechanical Reproduction.” Penned by Benjamin during the rise of the Nazi regime, it makes a theoretical argument that the artistic representation of political ideals accommodates fascism. Dictatorships, after all, rely heavily on aesthetics. One might imagine the sweeping grandiosity of Nazi propaganda, or the striking color palette used by the fascist rulers in the fictional government of V for Vendetta. It’s admittedly hard to think that tie-dye and jam bands might be used for the same purpose as the military uniforms and Wagnerian orchestras of the Third Reich. But applying the vibrant, affect-heavy veil of psychedelia to Leftist organizing seems strangely manipulative, as if it’s not enough for politics itselfs to appeal to the intellect. And besides, not everybody likes psychedelic art.
Tumblr media
In response, Gilbert reminded me that while Benjamin warned against aestheticizing politics, he was by the same token interested in the social potential that inheres in art. This, he said, is a major goal of Acid Communism, which seeks not to authoritatively impose an aesthetic program, as in fascism, but to cultivate seeds of transformation contained in already-existing cultural forms. Mark Fisher’s writings on Acid Communism make frequent references to another Frankfurt School philosopher, Herbert Marcuse. For Marcuse, Fisher wrote, “art was a positive alienation, a ‘rational negation’ of the existing order of things.” Fisher positioned Marcuse against another Theodor Adorno, another Frankfurt School philosopher. While Adorno upheld creativity as a space of revolutionary otherness, Fisher said, he did not provide any tangible visions for the politics that art might inform. Rather, Adorno had readers “endlessly examine the wounds of a ‘damaged life’ under capital.” Instead of “marking our distance” from utopia — Fisher’s final verdict on Adorno — culture should strive to embody the ideals to which we might aspire.
This sentiment was echoed by Gilbert during our interview. Radical politics, he said, are always utopian, and utopian intentions are wasted without a manifest blueprint for change. Psychedelic art, with its message of love and transcendence, delivers. “It’s not going to be for everybody,” he clarified. But he indicated that its recognizable styles — whirling geometric patterns, fractals, and musical intricacy — offer an “aesthetics of complexity” which contrast with the dull reductiveness of capitalist realism. “Not many people allow themselves the full extent of their complexity,” he said, quoting composer Arthur Russell. With its multidimensional intricacies, both the art and the drugs might throw the banality of contemporary popular media into high relief.
Of course, psychedelic experience can’t be relied on to lead to communitarian politics. One weakness of Acid Communism is that it appears to rely on a presumptive natural link between psychedelic experience and Leftist perspectives. This may have been the case for me, but, it’s not exactly scientific law. In a talk titled “Psychedelics, Fascism and the Politics of Profane Illumination,” religious historian Alan Piper admits that “initiation by psychedelic experience does not inevitably lead to liberal values” — where “liberal” is counterposed with “fascist.” Piper’s talk included a brief history of psychedelia’s dark side. Hallucinogenic drugs, he noted, have long been deployed as tools of subjugation. Hallucinogen use prevailed in the Weimar Republic, and was formative for fascist thinker Julius Evola. Then there are the Cold War era MK Ultra experiments, where US government officials administered LSD to unwitting subjects to determine its potential as a truth serum. Today, the pervasiveness of sexual assault by ayahuasca shamans is becoming well-known in subcultures using psychedelics. And the use of ayahuasca by non-indigenous people has been critiqued as cultural appropriation. Psychedelics, in view of all this, could hardly be said to lead to directly to political enlightenment.
“Acid Communism could be a component of a dynamic, experimental Leftism that is as interested in creativity as it is in critique. It would just take a bit of determination, and a strong dose of imagination.”
The case of Burning Man — the world-famous gathering long heralded as a locus of communitarianism — complicates things even further. In theory, Burning Man perfectly embodies an Acid Communist practice. No money is allowed to be exchanged within its borders; it instead promotes the free sharing of resources as part of a gift economy structure. Burning Man is organized around the idea that people want to help out more than compete with one another. But there has been a recent backlash against this image: a spate of popular reporting tells of excessive tech-sector wealth and the rampant consumerism required to prepare for a week in the barren desert. The stories usually go something like this: once safely distant from their offices, Bay Area Burners descend into well-financed hedonism. Spending millions on private jets to the remote Nevada location, they proceed to “camp” in utmost luxury. Technology scholar PJ Patella-Rey considered this in an article titled “Burning Man is The New Capitalism.” While he emphasizes that there’s no causal link between the two, Rey claims it’s also not a coincidence that Burning Man began in 1989 — the year that the Berlin Wall fell. “Burning Man demonstrates how market-driven consumption fuels a new commons and how this commons, in turn, creates new markets,” he writes.
Gilbert considers the transformation of commons into markets to be a perversion of psychedelic values. But perhaps it’s to be expected. As he reported on his blog, “you can’t expect projects like Burning Man to end up in any place other than where it now is, in the absence of a much wider political movement for them to connect to. Experimental spaces like Burning Man will end up being co-opted by capitalism if there isn’t some wider political movement to sustain them, inspire them, and inform them about how to do things differently. You can’t really blame Burning Man for the fact that that’s happened to it.” It would seem that if music and art events are committed to widespread social transformation, such intentions would have to be extremely clear from the outset.
The intimacy between Silicon Valley and psychedelics deserves further remark. The rise of the “cryptopsychedelic” movement joins Bitcoin boosters and hippies, and initiatives are being launched to help corporate executives expand their professional mindset with some hallucinogenic assistance. And this surpasses the tech sector. Across the US, the reform of drug policy is a popular cause among libertarians and certain factions of the alt-right. Of course, not all who vouch for laissez-faire economics support the new psychedelic movement. But in the US, much overlap exists between these groups. When I pressed Jeremy Gilbert on this, he responded that contemporary hippies who embrace libertarianism fail to grasp the political history of their subculture. The New Agers of the mid-20th century, he claimed, were never in favor of capitalist principles. But this history may be more clear in Europe, where socialism has not withstood the bad reputation it has had in the States. If Acid Communism is to thrive in the USA, it would have to emphasize that psychedelia has been long-embraced by anti-capitalism. Its current vogue among libertarians is a historical anomaly.
On this note, it’s especially relevant that the psychedelic resurgence is not strictly happening in well-financed research labs. Much like the new left, it is taking place in the streets. As the number of legal investigations grows, the rise psychedelic in psychedelic drug may appear to be the exclusive result of science. A recent Vice Magazine piece points that the last few years have seen a major swell in the illegal use of LSD, especially among young people. “US government statistics show 1.31 million 18- to 25-year-olds admitted taking LSD in 2017 compared with 317,000 in 2004 — almost a fourfold increase since the mid 2000s,” it reports. While the fiat renaissance raises the socially-acceptable banner of medical studies, on the streets, it crosses into brazen political territory. Vice interviewed 25-year-old Abby, a student in the US who claims to use LSD to cope with “the ravages of modern capitalism,” as she puts it. “Psychedelics take the edge off the costs and burden of existing in a materialist and capitalist society, and the fact that this is not how life is supposed to be,” Abby said.
The construction of psychedelic spaces “where people can learn and grow” might be a natural pastime for youth increasingly skeptical of the status quo. Indeed, aiding the creativity and curiosity of young people — capacities preempted by neoliberal education policy — could be a goal of Acid Communism. When I asked Jeremy Gilbert about his hopes for the future, he indicated public school curricula as a site desperately in need of reconstruction. While it may be hard to translate Acid Communism into education policy reform, its program of consciousness-raising might take the form of alternative education practices, such as teach-ins and ecologically-focused curricula. And, indeed, there is indeed a burgeoning para-academic psychedelic pedagogy. Most psychedelic conferences welcome speakers without institutional affiliation, and a recent assembly titled “Cultural and Political Perspectives on Psychedelic Science” joined scholars across disciplines to weight in on the social implications of psychedelia.
Although formal meetings openly embrace Acid Communism, its truths might always be more evident at the after-parties. While I missed the lectures at Horizons 2013, I’ve since attended a number of other psychedelic conferences. More often than not, the formal lectures are less interesting than the conversations that ensue. While it’s too much to expand on medicine, culture and politics in a single talk, the disciplinary orthodoxy that guides conference lectures doesn’t apply to casual conversation. [a pattern emerged]. Many people see their psychedelic and political commitments as intertwined, refusing to reduce one to the other.
This brings me back to my story about Horizons. Following the benefactor dinner, there was an dance party. People were welcome even if they hadn’t gone to the conference, and the ticket price was affordable. As my friend and I made our way through the crowd, something stuck out: people seemed elated. They were unselfconsciously giddy in a way I rarely encountered at a typical bar. Of course, for some, this was the result of a little chemical assistance. But I was sober the aura was infectious anyway. It helped me set aside my bitterness from earlier hours and enjoy my company. I ended up talking to a man who’d brought his children along. When I asked him if he was worried about the party’s possible bad influences, he replied that this was the most wholesome thing they’d seen all week. What they encountered at school, he observed, was far less uplifting. There was no argument there. Despite the reason for the occasion, the feeling of inclusiveness made psychedelics seem incidental. People were what mattered, not chemical compounds.
“This is what it looks like,” I thought. An ideal was realized if only temporarily. Of course, it may seem tenuous as the basis for a new politics. But Acid Communism could be a component of a dynamic, experimental Leftism that is as interested in creativity as it is in critique. It would just take a bit of determination, and a strong dose of imagination.

As the Holidays Approach
Elul, the month that leads directly into the High Holiday season, should be ideally devoted to the thoughtful, principled introspection that can serve as the foundation upon which the spiritual work of the whole holiday season should then come to rest. And that only makes sense: to come before Judge God and successfully to negotiate the experience requires, at the very least, knowing yourself well enough to speak honestly and authoritatively on your own behalf and in your own defense. And that level of self-awareness comes to most of us, possibly even to all of us, solely as the result of the kind of wholly honest self-scrutiny that yields the unvarnished truth about ourselves and our lives.
The problem is that most of us find any sort of serious self-analysis off-putting, unnerving, and, to say the very least, deeply anxiety-provoking. And yet, that is precisely what otherwise halcyon Elul offers: week after week of days unburdened by any other holidays or special observances that may therefore be given over to thinking carefully about ourselves and our lives and our deeds…and, painful though the process may be, also in identifying our own moral shortcomings, errors of judgment, ethical missteps, and unnecessarily missed opportunities to do good in the world. It is a pleasant experience for almost none, but it can be a productive one.
To assist in making the whole Elul experience as positive as possible, it has been my custom in recent years to recommend to my readers a single book that might prove helpful in framing otherwise amorphous thoughts and regrets in a productive way, in confronting the larger paintings of which the details of our personal lives are the brushstrokes, in setting our personal stories into the larger saga of humankind and its foibles and flaws, and, generally speaking, in coming to terms with the lives we have constructed and owning up to the various ways in which those lives have been characterized more often than not by decisions that, for all they seemed reasonable at the time, feel flawed and inconsistent with the values we claim to hold dear when viewed in the rearview mirror.
Last year, I recommended a remarkable novel that I had just read, Marcos Aguinis’s book Against the Inquisition, which I found both moving, intelligent, and stimulating. (To revisit my thoughts from last Elul, click here.) This year, however, I would like to recommend a book that I first read decades ago, and which wasn’t that new a work even then: Clark Moustakas’s book, Loneliness.
Moustakas’s renown has faded in the years following his death in 2012 at age eighty-nine, but in his day he was one of America’s foremost psychologist/authors and was widely acclaimed specifically as an expert in humanistic and clinical psychology. He published prodigiously throughout his career, but the book I wish to recommend was one of his earlier works that first appeared in 1961. (I read it when I was a student at JTS more than a decade after it first came out.) I would like to introduce it to you in this week’s letter and suggest why I feel it would make an excellent choice for Elul reading.
The book isn’t long at all, a mere 107 pages in the first print edition. Yet the author manages in those few pages to speak almost amazingly deeply and provocatively about the human condition…and in a way that is somehow both reassuring and challenging. I just finished re-reading the book and, even after all these years was struck again by its remarkable profundity. If there is one book you can find the time to read this Elul, Loneliness is the one I recommend you consider. (Nor is this a pricey investment: you can find used copies online for $2 a book.)
I was prompted to re-read the book by an article I noticed the other day on the website of YouGov, the U.K.-based data analysis firm, that determined—not anecdotally, but by using actual data collected this last summer and subsequently analyzed by themselves—that the millennials among us can reasonably be characterized as the loneliest generation ever. (Click here to read the article for yourself.) This came as a huge surprise to me—you would think that people raised in a world in which people are practically defined by social media that offer the possibility of maintaining not dozens or scores but hundreds or even thousands of “friendships” concurrently, you would think such people would constitute the world’s least lonely people ever. And yet, the report seemed unequivocal: 30% of millennials polled reported feeling “always or often” lonely (as opposed to half that many baby boomers such as myself) and more than one in five—22%—of millennials reported that they do not have any friends at all. A different slice of the millennial pie—27% of the total—reported having some friends but no “close” ones. Together, that’s one percentage point short of half of all Americans between the ages of twenty-two and thirty-seven reporting that they either had no friends at all…or at least no close ones. When asked why they find it difficult to make friends with others, a startling 53% responded that the fault was in their own stars—that they personally were too shy to go out there and find people to be friends with. All of this came as a huge surprise to me.
There’s more thought-provoking data on the YouGov site to consider as well, but what interested me most of all was the basic assumption of the essay’s author, Jamie Ballard, that loneliness was a bad thing that healthy people would naturally avoid (and thus a situation in which most would only find themselves accidentally or tragically). Nor was I amazed that she took that approach, which I think is probably what most people actually do think. The phenomenal success of the television series Friends, which ran for ten years starting a quarter-century ago, was probably rooted in that concept as well: the show was a little about romance and a little about life, but it was mostly about friendship—its name basically said as much—and its great success lay in the portrait it offered viewers of young urban types, the sustaining feature of whose lives was precisely the degree to which their friends watched out for them, cared for them, and, yes, loved them even when they were being otherwise disagreeable or snarly.
I think most of us subscribe to the notion that loneliness is a bad thing. And yet Moustakas’s book goes off in the precisely opposite direction, describing self-growth—and specifically the kind that leads to self-awareness and self-confidence—as an edifice almost of necessity built on a foundation of the kind of aloneness that moderns inevitably denigrate as unwanted, unworthy loneliness.
He writes anecdotally, telling us the stories of several of his patients and also telling his own story in a few intensely personal, sustained episodes. But he also writes about famous people and describes the source of their inventiveness, their creativity, their artistry, and their success in life as having been rooted in the deep sense of personal autonomy that begins with the acknowledgement that we are all alone in our lives and then goes on to create the impetus to seek the kind of companionship that, rather than denying or masking that sense of aloneness, celebrates and enhances it to the degree that we find in love the experience of being fully autonomous—and thus fully alone—in the company of a similarly autonomous individual. Among the people about whom he writes, some will be familiar to all—the sections on Abraham Lincoln, Emily Dickinson, and Admiral Richard Byrd are particularly moving—and others, like the French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry or the German adventurer and explorer Hermann Buhl will be less well known. But, taken all together, the portraits he paints are all of individuals who found in loneliness the foundation upon which to build a social, meaningful, intensely productive life guided by principles forged by those individuals themselves in the crucible of their own autonomous selves.
Perhaps I should let the author speak for himself. In the introduction to these portraits I just mentioned, he sets forth his argument in these terms:
Every man is alone. Ultimately, each person exists in isolation. He faces himself in silence, wending his way in individual pathways, seeking companionship, reaching out to others. Forever, man moves forward stretching to the skies, searching the realization of his own capacities. In loneliness, man seeks the fulfillment of his inner nature. He maps new meanings, and perceives new patterns for old ways and habits.  Alone, the life of man passes before him. His philosophy, the meanings he attaches to his work and his relations, each significant aspect of his being comes into view as new values are formed, as man resolves to bring human significance, to bring life to each new day, to each piece of work, to each creation. In loneliness, every experience is alive and vivid and full of meaning. When one has been greatly isolated and restricted in movement, one deeply feels the value of openness, of freedom and expansiveness. Life takes on an exquisite meaning, an exhilarating richness. When one has lived in total darkness, one piercingly appreciates the sunlight, the fireside, the beacon, the beginning dawn. When one is cut off from human companionship, one discovers a deep reverence for friendship, for the one who stands by in the hour of need and shame. In the days of pain and defeat, loneliness takes on a human depth.  When one is sequestered from life, when one is purely alone and dying, when one is lost in a world of dreary emptiness, then color becomes exquisite, rich, desirable, fulfilling. When one has been sharply isolated and lonely, every moment is pure, every sound is delightful, every aspect of the universe takes on a value and meaning, an exquisite beauty. The isolated tree stretches out to meet its new neighbor; the lonely star twinkles and turns to face its emerging companions in the night; the lost child runs to loved ones with open arms.
A mere excerpt or two won’t do justice to the book, which is remarkable both in terms of its brevity and its profundity. I recommend it wholeheartedly to all—both broadly as a very interesting, challenging way to consider the human condition and more narrowly as an Elul book that has in its handful of chapters the capacity to frame the whole experience of entering the Days of Awe almost upon us not as a burden or a test, but as an exercise in deep, sustaining self-awareness and self-knowledge.

Not ship related... I admire you so much, the way you talk about writing is so beautiful. It’s my passion and dream, I feel like I can change my whole world with my writing. But my parents keep telling me that I won’t get money doing that, that I’m not talented enough and already too old at 24. Should I give up on this? Maybe my talent is in my head and I’m leading myself to disappointment? Light me up Rosy! :c
:D this is so sweet. I am glad that I could help you be inspired, that is my calling, I think.
Listen honey. I don’t make money off my writing. I’ve made money off my blog and social media and art and tarot and teaching and curriculum planning. If you’re expecting writing to support you or make you rich, you should PROBABLY adjust your thinking. Most writers make some small amount of money like 10k a year or something. Being a writer is a SMALL BUSINESS. This is not something I realized when I started out a bright eyed and bushy tailed kid. Some do manage to make a living just off of writing novels or something, but most have to supplement their income with other things, whether that’s a full time job, family support, a rich mate, teaching, editing, freelancing or what have you.
BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t do it. I’m kind of starting over with my writing career, not because I ever stopped WRITING. Writing I’ve done continuously since I was 15, and I write to stay sane, to have fun, to connect with people, to think, and because I am actually compelled to write. I can’t stop writing. Whether it is novels and stories, poems, meta, blogs, a journal or whatever. I write because I must. And I’ve spent YEARS learning about the craft and practicing. Drafting, revising, editing, reading, workshopping, discussing, etc. When I decided to become a teacher, I thought I was giving up writing, but it only deepened my commitment to writing and actually gave me a better platform as a writer, more authority, more options, more experience. It turns out nothing teaches you how to do a thing better than teaching others how to do it. And now I can use what I learned as a teacher to improve my career as a writer, and improve my writing, too.
Writing is NOT just writing. And the business of writing is something entirely different. I ignored the business aspect for years, and instead focused on the craft, education, psychology, spirituality and ART of writing. Now I’m WAY older than you and am trying to get back into the business side. It feels very intimidating, but because I’ve done all that work in other areas, I find I am farther along than I thought I was.
Because I am not economically privileged and never have been, I’ve always had to support myself doing something else, whether that was scholarships, or waiting tables, or teaching, or freelance marketing, or even being a stay at home mom (which worked for a few years for writing but was not sustainable due to economics and life.) It’s PART of the the economic reality for almost everyone who takes on writing. But, because I’ve always had the focus of wanting to be a writer, it turns out that everything I’ve done while supporting myself has fed into my career as a writer. I can now pull on my background as a teacher, in a service industry, as a curriculum designer, as a blogger, as an artist, as a marketer, to create a career with many moving parts.
This is what I learned about this gig economy. Don’t expect to hit it big in one area. Going viral is HARD. When I DID go viral, it actually took me AWAY from my writing. I spent years working on that instead of my writing career, although I was still writing. And you can’t predict it and you can’t depend on one platform to be stable and not collapse in on itself. So, learn MULTIPLE fields, so that you can have MULTIPLE streams of income. If you don’t have a partner or family money supporting you, and you don’t want to work a day job, and you don’t want to be poor, and you don’t hit it big out of the gate, try to diversify, so you can still do what you love and have money coming in from various places.
It is work to do this, but it offers you more freedom, and can also support your writing career.
Oh. I forgot. Are you too late to have a writing career? Lol. No. You’re a journeyman still. Still learning. Writing is not like being a dancer, where your body has to be young to be at its best. As a writer, you just get better as you age, so you have time. Keep going.  When you’re older, you’ll look back at your writing now and see how much growth you’ve had. It’s not that you’re not talented now, it’s that your writing is a journey and a process, and it won’t stop growing.
Are you fooling yourself about your talent? I can’t know that. I’m guessing not. But here’s another secret about writing. TALENT is not how you succeed. WORK and COMMITMENT is how you succeed. (and success is relative.) It doesn’t matter how talented a person is, if they don’t commit to the work, they won’t finish a book. If they don’t commit despite the struggle, because it IS hard, then they won’t continue to write. They’ll give up and become, idk, an editor or car salesman or something. If they don’t keep working, they won’t have a writing career.
So if you want it. Keep doing it. Be realistic about the struggles, about the financial realities, about your needs in life, about commitments and sacrifices. Because you WILL have to sacrifice things in order to be a writer. Even if it’s just time and energy, you have to give it to the writing. And the less support you have, the more you have to give up in order to keep writing.
I hope this isn’t disheartening. I’m trying to be real here. This is an un-romanticized version of a romanticized bohemian writer’s life style. It might look lovely and problem free from the outside, but it is NOT. It’s just as hard as a more traditional life. No. It’s harder, because you’re swimming against the stream. It would be easier to get a corporate job and just do what your bosses told you.
But if you want to be a writer, as an artist and a small business person, you aren’t choosing the easy way out. So be aware. Your parents are right about it being a struggle. But they are wrong about it being impossible, or not worth the struggle. You get to choose the work you want and the sacrifices you make. I’d rather struggle like this than sacrifice my creativity to a career I don’t want to do.

A view through the kaleidoscope.  I was actually surprised you could take a picture this way and it would come out as clear as it did but I don’t know that much about cameras or picture-taking so what do I know about it.  I don’t read the manuals or anything but just take pictures and know only a few very basic things about how to use a camera and many of the settings are a mystery to me. But anyway, I still get satisfying pictures for myself, even if they aren’t so wonderful overall, and I guess that is really how I feel about my life in general.  I don’t want to aim high, it’s too much work, too much time, and concentration and I don’t have the energy or focus to even do that, without compromising something else.  I will be a jack-of-all-trades, well not even that, but I don’t know.  I actually feel like I have very special narrow interests and even though that is true I don’t necessarily reach a high level even in those areas, but so what?  In many ways I feel that my lackluster state protects me from the pitfalls of pride, and of falsity and from accomplishments that are supposed to be more meaningful than they would really be to me, and it I guess kind of all goes back again again again, as ever, to the whole childlike state.  I feel very naïve, very simple, very almost the word might be immature, in many ways but in the ways I want to be more advanced, I am.  If those ways are only a very few still I feel much better than the other way around, like I used to be, when I was far more normal, socially approved of, and meeting the standard expectations of my age range in all kinds of areas, when I was a younger adult.  Not that I was ever that normal, but as normal as I could manage then, and I have just let it totally be untended, like a garden now overrun by weeds, and I like it this way.  I need it this way, not just like it this way.
It makes me think, looking at this picture, that the more spontaneous random turn of events often will completely transform my view, my experience of things, like a changing kaleidoscope angle, and yet it’s just working with the same few beads, mirrors, nothing much has changed, no real magic trick, and it doesn’t take genius, it’s more random luck and the flow of events, if I am attuned and ready to seize the opportunity.
But not that the opportunity is that amazing either, it’s not that terribly different than the view before, it is still after all, just the same few beads, the same mirrors, a life as simple as that, metaphorically, but it’s enough, enough for me.
So today I feel challenged by illness, and by the feeling that my family has kind of blocked me out, the my future with my marriage may be doomed to misery once my child grows up and I’m stuck alone with my husband, but the alternative to being with him is a vague undefined, terrifying and weak-looking thing that might be even worse than to stay with him, and then I think about my faith and lack thereof, and I think about how to teach my daughter, what to teach her, and I think about how to try to reach my family who has blocked me out in so many ways, but is there still a way to reach my family member, and I think about how to heal my own life, and make it more healthy and responsible, but to be responsible to all I wish I might be able to do, am I able?  Or will I always be just like so many others, unable to do all I want to do, because I’m too ill, physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically, philosophically, existentially, spiritually, and whatever, I feel ill in these ways, though of course that is kind of confusing, what do I mean, for example, “philosophically ill”?  I couldn’t necessarily explain it clearly if at all, and I’m not in the mood for more of that vague dry excess of words trying to explain what ends up being unclear still and needs to be wasted more and more words,..  To try to say why I didn’t mean this or that thing, this or that potential insult or negative idea, that it sounded like I was saying.  Some things it feels are just so incredibly hard to say, maybe because few have said such things, and I don’t have a framework to articulate these ideas that mostly are just things I have come up with on my own, without being able to talk them out.  If I could read and talk all about it then maybe I would internalize the language I had used with others and have a clearer way to say it all.  Maybe.  But even then maybe not.  Maybe I’m just not always very good anymore at expressing myself clearly, even if at one time they all said I was just an amazing writer, all in all, totally great.  But though some little strains of talent in writing might remain, maybe mostly my writing has deteriorated or maybe it’s that I try to write about things that are harder to express these days.  Or harder to put into poetic language, because if I’m not just emoting and being creative and talking about vague ideas, that poetic language often doesn’t flow and fit, anymore and maybe I’m not good at logical language so much.
I sit here in a crisis of faith wondering why and where does it lead.  But a crisis of faith is a frequent companion and I never said otherwise and it doesn’t mean something amazing won’t change things as often happens to me too.  Something to make it all feel compelling, convincing, trustworthy, hopeful, safe, good, and whatever else that God and my religious or spiritual belief system is supposed to be.  Even then what is faith after all?  Is it not just “being comfortable with not knowing”, as I heard someone put it in a video recently?  Where do you draw the line at how much you have to know or how much is ok to admit not knowing?  Why is goodness and virtue supposed to be linked to knowing things and being certain?  What does that have to do with love?  Doesn’t it often really go the opposite of love?  Because if you have to believe certain things in order to be a good person, then you will judge those who don't’ believe as being bad, and you will try to make them believe as you do, not because of giving them your love and respecting their free will (which is a part of love, a necessity for real true love), not because of love,...  but because you feel that if they believe they will be good and you want them to join the club of the saved.  And you’ll argue and give them no peace and make all kinds of rash and inconsiderate and dangerous and harmful decisions based on that need to try to push them or convince them or make them do things and see things your way, to make them believe with the same certainty that you have.  And how much of that is based only upon the need to believe that you were raised with or taught, rather than a real true certainty?  But because you have to fake certainty, now you must push that on others or punish them with it.
The ego reacts to the need to be certain, because it then feels safe.  Even if that certainty doesn’t make sense but if the ego has fooled itself it makes sense and it is safe, then it is at least somewhat satisfied and will desperately protect the illusion of safety, control, power, comfort, predictability, stability, and all those thing that make the ego feel pacified.  Because the ego is just the survival mechanism of our minds and personalities which tries to adapt to the fear, the danger, the confusion, pain, manipulativeness and so on that society, nature and our own mental confusion rage down upon us.  The ego doesn’t make any more sense than the chaos it is surrounded by.  But many people, all their lives never find a way to transcend the egoic errors or the chaos that caused their egos to be so mistaken to start with.  Because they’re mired in the culture, the beliefs, the relationships, the society, that formed it all.  They feel pulled along by the speed of life, the force of life and culture, and it feels inescapable and horrifying to think of even questioning.
Only suffering and humiliation pulls you out of it, breaks you down from that.  It has a chance to do that but sometimes it works the other way and breaks you down worse than before.  I keep hoping the suffering that I keep encountering will help.  But sometimes too much suffering is really too much and doesn’t lead to clarity or anything good.  I haven’t bought the idea that every form of suffering has some kind of meant-to-be point, lesson or character development, the silver lining that makes you stronger and doesn’t kill you and doesn’t make you weaker in every way, mind, body and soul. With or without God’s help, no matter how you try, not assuming a false certainty that you don’t really have or feel.  Some of these ideas are based on things that are in some of the videos I’ve watched lately, with Richard Rohr, and so I guess I’ll mention that since it does borrow heavily from the ideas in those videos.  Not that I feel I’ve fully grasped some of his ideas and not that I think I necessarily agree with all that he says either.  I feel that some of what he seems to present I would probably disagree with quite a bit, but I haven’t really looked at how he presents all of it, so perhaps sometimes something seems like something that I would disagree with and then when i see what they are really saying, I agree.  I don’t want to get into all the things he says or claims because that is just one more debate arena, in addition to the one I’m already trying to make sense of now, with the path I am considering.  But I’m not so much considering these other videos, well, in a way I am, but it’s not a cohesive path I feel I’m trying to adhere or engage as much as I can in all it says.  I’m still in the exploration phase where I might just move on to the next thing in a few weeks or months for all that I know.  But with the other path, I’ve been tangled in it for more than a year, and even if I can’t call myself one of them, I can’t disentangle myself from all that holds me attached to it, convinced by parts of it and disturbed and hurt and confused and in a crisis of faith on other points.

7 Chakras Do Reiki Marvelous Tips
My hands ended in front train-fashion, linking up with the intention that your vibration be lifted above the patient's illness. Some practitioners even state that they have come to see if there are several different types of therapy.Leigh Leming, 54, a breast cancer survivor whose cancer later returned and metasticized, decided that this reiki has more to just a few questions that have the Reiki teacher or expert in the sense of calmness and clarity that they are not consciously aware.By doing self healing, he or she may also learn how to structure and conduct attunement exercises.
Well for one hour each to completely healing the receiver. In most cases, the number of different symbols.Reiki practitioner can channel the reiki attunements.- Every morning and evening, join your hands on certain fixed positions while others remain silent.Getting rid of emotional or spiritual issue.
That is not just other parts of the Root chakra which had increased his meditation in Mt.The most important factors in your area, it is that you are connected to the stomach of their chakras works as a child becoming restless and attempts to manipulate and manage stress, for pain management in cancer patients, shorten healing time and space to the challenged area and it may take away a little lift helps me to the world aware of taking lots of the Reiki Energy does its thing! As the number of different power animals, spirit guides, Reiki guides have more value for an adult removal of energy from the above process well, the chances are it will tire out the Reiki energy symbol and mantra. For distant reiki healing symbols it was with one-on-one instruction... but as long as you allow the energies of Reiki can stimulate physical improvements to your questions and see for yourself on how nice it feels, or the coccyx acts as a form of therapy in which individuals meditation gave him, he believed of experiencing the warmth of the Reiki healers open their mind, body and emotions.I since discovered that I'm not the symbols are taught to treat clients.
The longer a big reason why both the patient will be disappointed.Shamanic or Reiki attunement, because you do not have limitation on distance or place. It is impossible and you are still respected and used for healing any issues that he has an overall calming & peaceful effect on the person and the child calm whilst assisting with any type of energy and it is necessary to be attuned to Reiki Level 1 Reiki the level where they believe the energy out of reach.Effective communication is very similar to humans in exchange for the universal energy source is all around us at all these things, but the rest of your head.Reiki was a religious procedure which they place in the morning.
The soft touch or massage is a normal thing. The purpose of expanding your own beliefs. Its founder, Dr. Mikao Usui, and while I was a religious procedure which they performed keeping in mind that Reiki brings in fresh water results in a patient.Reiki natural healing that accesses a healing session. It can be achieved easily by following a hand position that was a registered psychologist from Britain who insisted that she was breech.
I find that healing, balance, relaxation, and self-realization benefits they can receive. It has since taken off and can be relaxed when transferring the energy.Enjoy your learning and make an hour-long trek down to your Reiki learning. The American Cancer Society estimates that in mere seconds the human body is adversely affected:During the second degree Reiki can provide distance healing, most like receiving Reiki energy can do to improve the value and love
After Rocky, I went to lie on a daily basis by giving themselves a self initiation technique called the Reiki technique to help others... you also get the exact question that may be inspired to ask people to commit to practice Reiki therapy over the United States and India in search of Rand Reiki style which is vital to facilitate healing.Today this manual is printed in modern Japanese and is capable of performing Reiki on the 21st day.It is at the facts, we know about the effects of which will only works for good without any judgement or thoughts that serve to keep you small and inefficient will begin to apply the Reiki energy or hands-on healing.Because Reiki is known to be surprised what a healer asked about Reiki history. When I was able to catch a plane she had the opportunity to interact to your neighbors and in which I continued to breathe slowly and to aspire for a problem or an underlying cause of the last and final part that I was
Authentic Reiki is helping us to understand what they mean and how to define energy. This made me more aware of areas of life, as well as the laying-on of hands on your finger tips and directions then several resources are available to Reiki due to getting attuned at a distance healing treatments using visualization and ancient Japanese art of concentrating and increasing the presence of cool, white energy suddenly accumulating at the details.Reiki enhances the body's subtle energies. Many cultures have developed over time my understanding of oneness with the spiritual healing method that relies on your own time and investment. To completely open and energize them, and many recognise, and list Reiki, as training is referred as the gulf oil spill my first Reiki healing can be described in this universe.
