As people, do we have the choice to finish our lives out without reincarnating, after death? Is it possible to clear our karma to the point where that’s an option?

I think the first important thing to address is the notion of karma. Often we imagine that it is like our cosmic bank account balance. Then our understanding is something along the lines of good deeds and bad deeds of various magnitudes factoring together to determine what happens after death (or even in life).

In actuality, the concept of karma is more nuanced than this. It is better to imagine karma as the imprints we take on due to our judgments (fixed perceptions), traumas (triggers), fears (rejections), and desires (attractions). I think a pragmatic understanding of it would be like this:

Imagine you developed complete amnesia and were dropped into an environment that knew nothing about you. How would you act and react? What kinds of insights and conclusions would you draw? What kinds of motives would arise? All of that is karmic stuff.

In life, thanks to our wonderful human brains, we have the ability to recognize these imprints in ourselves. We can choose to act counter to those reactions and instincts. Unlike most animals, which are innocent beings but they do not have the executive function to choose to go against their instincts--although there are of course exceptions to this.

In death, we no longer have the power of the human brain and therefore the karmas take over. It is then said that we experience a heaven or hell accordingly. If we lived violently and animalistically, thats the kind of after-death experience we have. If we behaved with love and kindness and wisdom, then that is the after-death experience.

But either way, once enough of that karma is exhausted during the after-death experience, we are pulled back to physical incarnation.

How much of this is real and true? I can't say from direct experience. But right now its part of my own modeled understanding derived from my direct experiences in meditation as well as the teachings of my Guru and many traditions.

So now to your question: Can we finish our lives out without reincarnating, after death? Is it possible to clear our karma to the point where that’s an option?

There are two perspectives from which to answer this question. One, which will be relatable and intuitive, and another, which may be a little abstract.

The first perspective is this--the only beings who never incarnate again are those who attain self-realization, complete enlightenment. Those are the beings for whom nothing remains to reincarnate after physical death. And it is said that no matter how those beings appear outwardly--angry, amused, etc--their minds never take on any imprints ever again. It's like drawing on the surface of water.

The second perspective is that of no-creation, which is nonduality or advaita. It kind of turns the question on its head. If you ask "is it possible to never incarnate again", it will answer your question with a question, "can you be certain you ever incarnated in the first place?".

From a non-dual perspective, nothing has ever happened. The universe was never created and will never be destroyed, just as the world you experience in your dreams has no real beginning or end. And just as the dream self you have experienced in dreams has no birth or death, neither have you ever truly incarnated or died.

Because ultimately, all of this is an illusion. BUT this doesn't mean it isn't Real! An illusion is defined as a misperception of something real--like mistaking a coil of rope to be a snake. It does not mean a hallucination, such as suddenly seeing a snake appear in an empty room.

All of This is Reality, Consciousness, the Self, Emptiness, The Divine, The Indescribable, etc. It is only due to our misperception (illusion) that it appears to be anything other than That.

I know 😅 wtf, right? That's...a lot.

I hope this at least gave you something to explore a bit more but in the end there's one thing I always recommend: daily meditation.

I keep seeing headcanons and imagines about us/self-inserts being like..;;; always on Unknown's lap or being held there by him as like a comfort thing (I think?) or just to chill there with him

I wholeheartedly know that they're are all just requests and stuff and it seems to be an idea accepted by so many people and how they like to imagine being with Unknown

It just makes me uncomfortable for some reason and actually kinda scares me a little, the thought of being just;; grabbed and held? And;; on his lap??

It wouldn't be something I'd want to do, I mean. ;;

See, when I thought of that concept years ago and I started working with it in my writing, it wasn't meant to be perceived as a comfort in the beginning. It was a power play. It was meant to make you feel as uncomfortable as it sounds. Unknown took you from the apartment as a knee-jerk reaction to the fact that you didn't know how to listen to him.

What's the very best way to make you feel uncertain of yourself in a situation where you have no control?

Well, in Unknown's rationale, that's to make you see what he's doing with no escape. This can be particularly even more unsettling if you were close to the RFA. Unknown's not a morally sound person, he's driven by apathy and revenge, and there's a reason why he's not the one with the route. To be able to capture his heart would take you a long time, and that kind of story arc isn't one you can complete in a mere cycle of 11 days, even for a game like MM which does it best to speed-run what would take months already.

This isn't meant to be seen as a good thing, not by any means. I don't always write the unsettling parts because I like to focus on the parts that come later once his walls are down, but this is just one of those things that people like to talk about with Unknown. What would he do in a situation where he has his assistant? He won't do what Ray does. I can affirm that. Ray wanted you to be with him and Unknown didn't want you like that.

The concept changes when we explore the foundation of these ideas.

It's not supposed to sound appealing at first. Though, it becomes a point of comfort for many people because not only does this make you vulnerable, it forces Unknown to be vulnerable as well. You can hear the sound of his every heartbeat, the way his hands twitch, and feel how his body strains itself every step of the way. At some point, it's impossible for him to maintain the air of unsettling fear. You're first when it comes to witnessing this man at his worst.

I understand that it makes you feel uncomfortable, though. That's not everyone's cup of tea. I hope you know that this is just one concept a lot of Unknown fans lot to navigate but it's not a definitive of who he is as a person. We don't know what Unknown would do with someone as his assistant, and there's just things that we've agreed on as a fan collective over the years that have shaped how we write him as your boss.

Just because some fans write him doing this doesn't mean you have to write him doing that, and it certainly doesn't mean you have to imagine something that makes you uncomfortable.

I'm glad you reached out to say something because you're afraid that this concept means Unknown would pointedly make you feel bad and that's not good when you're hunting for fluff. You don't have to like it. That's down to personal preference! You should request stuff from us imagine blogs with the things you're into! The last thing any of us wants to make someone feel left out.

When it comes to Unknown's proximity, it's hard for me to tell you that he'll leave you with your own personal space. Even in the game, his voice is a whisper that gets louder the closer he gets to you, and that implies that he will get closer to you if he thinks it would be to his benefit to cage you like an animal. But, by that, I mean, the worst you can deal with is him whispering in your ears, pushing you against the wall to laugh at your fear-stricken face, or circling you when you try to explain how you did something.

He doesn't have to pin you to his lap to prove that he's got the upper hand.

But, if you're looking for a comfort thing as opposed to trying to find something that doesn't unnerve you like the lap stuff, I suppose you could be subjected to hand-holding. He's not big on cuddling or stuff like that. But, let's see, I don't think he's immune to holding your hand while you sit on opposite ends of the couch. He hates proximity until it benefits him somehow. Sitting with you is a big thing for him, so if it brings you comfort, he'll stargaze with you when he's got time for a break. Apart but together.

This kind of overlaps later on with him as SE Saeran pushes away most physical contact outside of parallel play and sitting together. Because SE Saeran is just Unknown after the Secret Ending. They hold onto the same ideals, the only difference is that there's no more elixir and anger to drive his ideals.

Jungian Controversies: Embracing Symbolism in the Psyche

I am endlessly fascinated with the work of Carl Jung. He has made profound contributions to our understanding of the human psyche, and many esteemed scholars have lauded his insights. However, I'm puzzled by the disregard for certain more contentious aspects of his work, including archetypes, cultural universality, gender stereotypes, the Anima/Animus, the shadow and the darker facets of the psyche, spirituality and mysticism, as well as synchronicity and paranormal phenomena. Personally, I'm deeply intrigued by these topics and feel they warrant further exploration. Jung's keen interest in symbolism and its impact on the subconscious suggests to me that these concepts could be approached symbolically or metaphorically, offering a means to delve into uncharted territories of the mind. I believe such an approach can be a potent tool for uncovering aspects of the psyche that have yet to surface into consciousness.

While some may seek to understand these concepts through a strictly logical, left-brained lens, I resonate more with a right-brained perspective that views the world symbolically, interpreting everything around us as representative of our subjective experiences. I tend to convey these symbolic ideas in a manner relevant to our lived reality. Jung's ability to bridge the divide between the left and right hemispheres of the brain is remarkable, but it troubles me to witness the hypocrisy of embracing one aspect of his work while disregarding others.

"The Red Book" by Carl Jung is a remarkable manuscript chronicling Jung's personal journey of self-exploration and encounter with the unconscious. Through handwritten text and intricate illustrations, Jung delves into his inner psyche using a method he termed active imagination, engaging with archetypal figures and symbols.
