How the prompts works:

Every day of our Izuna Week 2024 has a set of three alternative prompts, one from each of our three prompt categories, which are:

Naruto-specific: what it says on the tin. Here you’ll find techniques and concepts specific to the Naruto-verse as prompts.

Trope: all those good old fandom tropes we love (or hate). Can be interpreted in very wide ways.

AUs: there are infinite alternative universes, so we decided to differentiate these a bit further. The Izuna Week 2024 will have two prompts each from Canon Divergence AUs, Franchise AUs, and General AUs!

ASoIaF AU: A Song of Ice and Fire, epic fantasy novel series by George RR Martin. (Adapted onscreen as Game of Thrones and more recently, House of the Dragon)

MXTX AU: Chinese author well-known for her danmei/BL novels. This AU prompts refers to any of her novels such as Mo Dao Zu Shi (Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation) or Tian Guan Ci Fu (Heaven Official's Blessing).

The final day, Izuna’s birthday on February 10, is a Free Day! It's also of course Izuna's Birthday.

i tend to veer away from angst, but off the top of my head....

99% of my fics have a happy ending because thats my BRAND but i suppose give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around or the weekend we were in love OR put your empty hands in mine

not often, but i recently had someone who REALLY disliked the way things change because i 'villainized' raph. which is definitely news to me, since raphael is the love of my life

conflict ! i hate it ! i will avoid writing it at all costs ! i also tend to struggle with writing fight scenes, especially when there are several characters involved :') staging any kind of choreography is my opp

there is thunder in our hearts - this story came together so easily for me, like i knew exactly how i wanted to tell it from start to finish

the only hoax i believe in - a kfam fic in my top 5s why yes and i'll tell you why. because i poured so much of myself into this fic that they could probably read it at my funeral instead of a eulogy

traveling so far to get there - after party au raph and mikey continue to take up so much real estate in my brain and for what

now the darkness comes alive - this one is more recent but im so happy with the way it turned out :')

if we could stay all day in the sun - it was a lot of fun reimagining one of my favorite fairy tales and doing a bunch of unnecessary research for this story i will stand by it until the day i die !!

Update (8/26) and A Question to You All

First order of business! Oof, babes. I got jump scared 😅

Friendly reminder to all my A03 homies out there that story bookmarks aren't private by default. You have to check the tiny box on the bottom that marks it as "private", otherwise all your dirty laundry is aired out to the world.

Needless to say, I uhhhh... I offended somebody. They were big mad at my story. Very incensed. I apologize for my poor conduct as an author for the grief I have cause the world at large 🙏🏻

Also, I'm apparently an untrustworthy author and that's funny to me 🥴🫠

I'm not even upset. I'm just a nice little blend of bemused and amused (which are two separate things entirely, though they often get treated as synonyms).

Alright, moving on...

I'm finishing Seaside this weekend. It's almost done. Well, more like halfway. But I can bust out a few thousand more words in *checks watch* four days' time. It's practically a done deal. I'm not at all setting myself up for failure with this strict time constraint.

No siree.

I anticipate having REARRANGED updated by NEXT Friday/Saturday, not this upcoming one. Whether this comes to fruition or not depends entirely on my ability to buckle down and NOT get distracted by my ADHD. I make no solid promises because I'm a disaster person.

The next item on my agenda is Crimson Chapter 3. I've bumped up the chapter count because there was so, so much tsundere!Suguru interacting with Reader-chan that I didn't have the willpower to cut any of it. We now have 4 chapters of our Vampire Knight/JJK fusion AU.... I'm a simp for mean guys, what can I say?

Then another REARRANGED the next week, and the end of Crimson the week after that.

I'm a busy bee this month. But I have so much to catch up on.

Once I finish my two smaller WIPs, I have a maddening desire to break out of the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom for a few smaller side projects while writing REARRANGED. I'm leery, given that JJK is where my main audience is. I wouldn't want to alienate any of my regular readers. I'd still probably do CanonXReader fics because they soothe my self-indulgent needs. But, man, I want to dabble in other fandoms so baaaad.

So, my question to those of you who keep up with my works, are there any characters from this list that you'd like to see more of in the future?

FTH 2023 Listed fandoms snapshot

We had 101 fandoms in the dropdown list this year, including 'other' if you wanted to write in a fandom. So far, there are signups for all but 7 of the listed fandoms ...

For a heartbeat the boy wizard had as many signups as the ineffable husbands, but at present, Good Omens is managing to hold on to a slight lead. Teen Wolf currently holds third place, and K-pop has just edged out Sherlock to grab fourth. Still, with more than a week to go, a handful of signups could shake up the leaderboard, making the next update look entirely different. We'll update every couple days, and then daily as the deadline for signups approaches.

1. How many works do you have on AO3? site says 21! (I also have 50+ on ff.net from when I was younger, and uhhh idk how many that I shoved into my dreamwidth/livejournal never to see the light of day again.)

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 619,848

3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently Mysterious Lotus Casebook! (Although I might sneak something for Love and Redemption or Scum Villain.) I am mostly a writer in the Final Fantasy XIII fandom, although I have spent years in Code Geass and Merlin fandoms. Before that, it was Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Harry Potter, and Star Wars.... loads more.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try to! I'm, um. I'm really bad at it. In that I will attempt to respond to everyone in the first few days, but then I get distracted doing/writing something else and I am so tunnel-visioned that you won't hear from me until a week later and then I feel bad about taking so long to respond. Also I am very, very bad at responding because while I love love love seeing comments, it's just happy reactions and incoherent noises from me. How do I words to translate my appreciation???

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? ...probably everything I wrote as a kid? I have very different ideas on angst nowadays, but I guess while I was writing it... between Gedächtnisse (FMA fic) and Sound of Silence (HP fic), I guess!

Newer stuff might be between The Other (FFXIII fic) and Test Subjects (FFXIII fic).

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I write a lot of fluff pieces nowadays! But overall, probably Something About December (FFXIII fic), since it's a Christmas fic or Family (FFXIII), which was written to give Sazh more support in the third game.

8. Do you get hate on fics? Once, someone pointed out my join date on the website and asked me why I was still writing fanfiction.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I have, but generally don't. Even most of my ships are closer to gen than not. I'm closer to the repulsed spectrum of ace, but I do like attempting to write all sorts of things.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Yes! Love them! I've written a good handful-- but the craziest one was when I was... 10? 11? and I wrote Orions'Ka on a notebook and when I typed it up, it was well over 60,000 words. It had absolutely everything I loved back then.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not by a person, no. By website bots, yes.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I have had... people ask me if they could translate my fics? My answer is always yes, but I don't recall seeing it anywhere.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? I had an entire online journal with my best friend back in middle school.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? ...MXTX ships, maybe? I don't feel particularly strongly about ships most of the time, only about characters, who I will ship around for the fun of it. But for MXTX pairings, that just doesn't feel right. They just belong together.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? ....my old Harry Potter stuff, I'm sorry. Not a fandom I got back into again.

16. What are your writing strengths? I've been told it's characterizations! And descriptions.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Everything else. Confidence, I guess. Also energy and interest. And once I overcome those, plot.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? ...me, or fics that do that? Because I've seen fics do that, full on paragraphs of dialogue in the original language but descriptions in English, and I don't understand. But if it's just... an important word, a statement, something the fandom would normally understand kept in its original language because there's just no good translation in English for it, then it absolutely works. Some things don't translate well, and fans usually like learning more about their canons. I personally try to keep things mostly in English nowadays, though, but I slip time to time.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Star Wars. I was in the single digits age, and wrote an introspective ficlet on Luke and Leia's feelings about how the original trilogy's ending, sitting together on Endor to watch it all burn.

20. Favorite fic you've written? ...I don't know if I have one. I either tend to be proud or hate what I've written, depending on the day, my mood, wind speeds, and cats. Currently I want to say Lost in a Moment, because I finished that recently and I had so many doubts about it so I'm proud I got through it.

on ao3? used to write for the ch**tiverse, still write for Victoria Goddard's Nine Worlds. well, okay im on hiatus from participating in fan stuff bc i got too much going on and i have complicated feelings abt fandom. but. on ffnet? naruto, inuyasha, bleach, fairy tail, danny phantom. i think.

yuh. "just for now" is smut (old man yaoi). and there's another i think. i wanted to really confront my sex repulsion and explore my own boundaries around what i write.

naur i never understood crossovers v well. i love an AU tho

probably not. on ffnet it was SO goth edgelord and now it's extremely poetic prose. (and when i say POETIC prose i mean it tend to be concise and abstract, not that its purple) who wants that LOL

yes! my first fanfiction was with my childhood friend Sunshine and we posted a double-self-insert absolute MANIC fanfic set in the world of Inuyasha posted to ffnet. one of my fondest memories. i dictated, she wrote.

i don't have one these days but i shant say what it used to be only that it made me insane from the time i was 14 to the age of 25.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

i had an old man yaoi urban fantasy au wherein a character who used to be the chosen one had been imprisoned and was surviving the trauma of that as a music teacher and i read a ton of prison literature for it and watched documentaries and watched interviews and spent WEEKS researching trauma from incarceration and what it means to be incarcerated (part of this was because my birth father was about to be incarcerated and i was trying to write through my understanding of what he'd be going through) and researching what town councils do. and then a (now former) friend had torn apart the fic paragraph by paragraph during beta and wrote how boring parts were and no one wanted to hear abt me talking abt poetry in the fanfic and it was my FIRST fanfic since i was in my early twenties and i basically deleted the whole thing out of embarrassment and hurt. iykyk who it was. idk if i can ever go back to that. i just don't. i want to but. even strangers in workshops aren't that cruel LOL

16. What are your writing strengths?

i'm a pretty/poetic writer good at relationship shit i think. i'm good at grounding the reader in a sense of place and my writing is very tactile. it's embodied.

i am a pretty/poetic writer

i know some spanish and a little french and even less russian (i'm like learning that one through osmosis) but it's not v applicable. hmmmm i wouldn't try unless i was fluent.

If someone knows how to make the best magic beverages, it is surprisingly Obito. That's why Minato's Fox's Den Magic Café is so popular. In this age, Konoha has many different cafés but none are quite as popular as this one. Perhaps it is the harmonic combination of the services they offer - with Obito doing his magic at the beverage station, Rin and Kushina conjuring up pastries and snacks quite possibly out of thin air, and Kakashi at the register, who manages to take more orders at once that anyone else with perfect precision, always knowing who needs their daily crumb of serotonin and pick-me-ups, who needs nine shots of espresso in their coffee.

AU Premise under the cut

+ Obito was a prince of the Uchiha Kingdom, pretty low in the line of succession though.

+ Obito used to be a sweet little prince who cares for his people, thus was always at odds with Madara when he was younger.

+ Kakashi is his childhood friend/personal knight when they are younger

+ One day, an enemy kingdom managed to kidnap Rin, who is also their best friends. Obito wanted to save her himself, but Kakashi argued that Obito shouldn’t risk himself like that because he’s the prince while Rin is just a daughter of a lowly noble. They argued for a bit like in canon, and Obito ran away from the castle to save him herself. Kakashi finally relented and chased after his prince, arriving just in time to stop an enemy knight from killing his prince, but losing an eye in the process. Obito awakened his sharingan when soon after Kakashi losing an eye, another enemy attacked. 

+ They went to the enemy’s temporary base where Rin was kept, in a cave just a few miles away from the outskirts of Obito’s kingdom. They saved her, but the cave collapse due to the enemy using an Earth spell to cause it to cave in. Obito pushed Kakashi away before he was crushed by a boulder like in canon.

+ Obito was saved by Madara, who was a previous king of the Uchiha Kingdom who was presumed dead. Madara told him like in canon about the Moon Eye Plan, but all Obito wanted is to go home.

+ Around a year later, Obito received news from one of Madara’s homunculus White Zetsu that Rin and Kakashi was in trouble. Deeming himself recovered enough to escape the place, Obito tried to escape, only to fail. The White Zetsu helped him escape the place.

+ They arrive on scene, just right when Rin lost control of the Sanbi sealed in her and Kakashi was dodging the attacks of enemies from the opposing kingdom. Obito ran to save Kakashi, but didn’t notice the tail striking towards him. Kakashi though, who noticed Obito and the tail, immediately reacted and pushed Obito away, but not in time to avoid the attack himself. The tail struck through him and killed him.

+ Rin lost consciousness then, and Obito was craddling Kakashi’s body while he’s losing control over his Artificial Unique Wood Magic and slaughtered everyone but Rin and Kakashi. 

+ After that, he returned to Madara and demanded the former king to tell him about the Moon Eye Plan, and agreed to realize it.

+ He returned to the Uchiha Kingdom and practically slaughtered almost the whole Uchiha Royal Family, the surviving ones were only those who managed to escape, and became the new King of the Uchiha Kingdom, ruling it with tyranny as he pursued the Tailed Beasts all over the world for the Plan, with Zetsu as his advisor.

+ Rin stayed with him, out of loyalty and guilt.

+ Fourteen years later, a book circulated throughout the whole world; a Book of Prophecy telling about how the world is going to end, and soon. The Book described the fall of the Uchiha Kingdom and the death of the King in particular.

+ Obito sets out to find just who the author is, because so far, the Book has been correct in its events, and if the author really is prophetic, Obito can use someone like them as his pawn.

+ Only to find two familiar people: Kakashi and his dead tutor’s son, Naruto. 

+ “You’re--You’re alive?” Obito questions Kakashi, demands it, because he is so sure that Kakashi died that day. He held the body himself after all. 

+ But the other man looks at him with no recognition in his eyes, but the way he stands, walks, and speaks-- everything about him screams Kakashi. And yet-- “I’m sorry, Your Majesty... but have we met before?” and yet, Kakashi doesn’t recognize him.

Kakashi’s side:

+ Kakashi died that day, but fourteen years later, God, Hagoromo, resurrects him and gave him a task: To be his prophet and record the end of the world. Not to save it, but to record the end of times.

+ “Why me?” Kakashi questions, because he knows he’s no one special.

+ “Because you’re the reason of Uchiha Obito’s descent towards madness.” Hagoromo replies firmly, then shows him the things that has happened over the years that he dies.

+ Kakashi agrees, and upon waking up, he finds himself in a room, with a boy who looks so much like his and Rin and Obito’s tutor Minato, looking at him in concern. “Ah, you’re awake, dattebayo!” The boy greets. “Hi, I’m Naruto. Namikaze-Uzumaki Naruto.” And oh, this boy is Minato’s son.

+ He finds out that Minato’s dead after trying to defend the royal family from Obito during the Takeover. He finds out that Rin did nothing to stop Obito from becoming a tyrant. He finds out that everything isn’t the same and everything is broken, and he breaks hearing it.

+ He writes a book, according to the prophetic dreams he gets whenever he sleeps, of the end of the world, of the fall of his kingdom, of Obito’s death.

+ The book circulates throughout the world and banned in several countries. People begin to come after him for his prophetic power. He decides to leave and travel the world, exploring it one last time before it’s destroyed. He brings Naruto with him, even though Naruto keeps on nagging at Kakashi about how if he knows all these things about the end of the world, then they should be doing something to prevent it and makes it better.

+ It’s futile to change anything though, but Naruto is way too optimistic to believe that.

+ Six months later, Obito finds him. He isn’t sure how to react after seeing the sweet little prince he had promised to protect all those years ago turn into this cruel man hell bent on destroying the world and casting an illusion over everyone.

+ So, when Obito asks him if he’s alive-- he pretends to not know Obito.

+ It’s hard and so easy at the same time. He never likes lying to Obito, but the Obito in front of him-- the Obito in front of him is not the Obito he knows.

+  “I’m sorry, Your Majesty... but have we met before?”

Signups for FTH2022 have been open for almost exactly 3 days. In that time 296 creators have signed up to offer 379 auctions in 175 fandoms. (To put those numbers in context, last year in the first FIVE days of signups, we had 256 creators sign up to offer 325 auctions. This year is looking to be BIG!)

Fanfic requests and Headcanons are NOT restricted to Kakashi. I will write for any character as long as i think that i am able to do them some justice.

If you want a ship, please choose between characters in the show. I am not a confident writer of CharacterXReader fics.

Any ship is welcome so long as it is not student/teacher or incest. (Student/Teacher does reach out to include the other characters' students. I will not write Kakashi or any other Sensei with any of the Konoha kids, or any of their sensei’s with anyone from Kakashi’s generation.)

The Au’s are never closed. We can talk about them any time, and if you feel like bring the focus back to an old AU you are more than welcome to.

AU’s can range from little changing (Like Kakashi and Gai adopt Naruto or the Uchiha Massacre doesn’t happen), to the entire world being completely different (Pokemon AU, Mafia AU). There are even AU’s where the character’s we love come from different villages or are stolen by different villages (Mist Gai AU, IWA Gai Au, Suna Kakashi au, Samurai Kakashi AU)

The only thing I ask is if you want to talk about a more horrors au, please ask me first. I can do simple things like Zombie AU, but I find it difficult to get into certain topics of gore.

Do not insert your headcanons over my own. Headcanons are always open for discussion, but if you say something that makes’s me uncomfertable/i don’t like it, that’s it. You’re welcome to have your own headcanons on your blog.

I do write Trans Kakashi/Kakashi having a kid. Those things are both up for discussion. However, my Kakashi would only ever have one child. It would be by choice, and his partner would never ask or try to force him to have more.

Hatake Kakashi

Kakashi is depressed, is terrible with people and emotions, and would much prefer to spend quality time with one of his two best friends rather than interacting with other people. This does not mean he doesn’t understand other’s or want to create other connections, he’s simply an introvert who’s pretty good at making/claiming friends.

Kakashi is, also, very much a troll. If he senses that something he does bothers someone (without infringing on their comfort or safety) he will use it to troll the shit out of them for as long as he gains entertainment from it.

Loyal to a fault, he will fight and die to protect those he considers his friends and teammates. Kakashi does not take teamwork lightly and will not put up with anyone who would rather ‘go it alone’ instead of working with their team.

Laidback but not at all lazy. Kakashi will have times where he gets lost in his thoughts and loses track of time, but when it comes to getting important things done he will make the deadline.

Does not like clutter. Kakashi will ensure that whatever has to be dealt with is taken care of to ensure that he has a clutter-free space. Whether that be paperwork in the Hokage’s office or a mission report on his desk. He might save it to the last minute because he got lost in his book or spent too much time with one of his friends, but it will get done so that it’s not sitting there for weeks.
