I love how much more complexity is added to the way Chilchuck acts when you realize he's a dad.
For example, his fear around being caught up with black magic. He's definitely the most worried out of everyone and it makes sense. Not only is he the most grounded in terms of thinkinh about the consequences of things, but he has the most at risk if they get arrested by elves. They explain that elves can take decades just to interrogate their prisoners. Dude's middle-aged and from the shortest lived race, he doesn't have decades.
But add on the fact that he's a dad. Of course he's the most worried! Not only will his arrest be bad for him, it would be bad for his kids! They'd probably never know what happened to him and would lose a parent at a young age (they're adults, but they're young adults. If Chil is 29, then Patti's only 14).

Heck yes it stands up! I didn’t know if it would; I didn’t think the stockinette was dense enough to make up for the airy lace. (You work the heavy yarn and the light yarn on the same needles. Needle. It’s a circular needle.)
Scaffolding Cowl.
(My favorite part of this is that sometimes, when you have a lace collar and it has stiffness/stands up, it makes the whole thing look very creature-like. I am not sure Mrs Hammersley would enjoy my ah-great-you-look-like-a-creature take on her dress if it were possible for me to convey it, but to me, it’s sort of fascinating. Dragonflies’ wings. Godzilla. Perfectly normal reaction to a dress. Anyway, bemused by the lace realizations, happy the structural part of the knitted thing worked.)

mirabelle ervine is to me the kind of person who would wear knitted things all the time. she is also the kind of person who is constantly saying she plans to learn to knit but in reality she is too impatient for it and also every time she sits down to actually give it a try five things in the college explode simultaneously

Quick round-up of a few small projects;
Scarf. It is a scarf. Used the remaining silk/wool yarn I had left from when our yarn store closed, the yarn was really thin so I ended up holding it double and yeah, got a really cute, comfy Halloween-y scarf. Very happy to have it.
I do regret making the stripes as thick as I did, like they look cute but between that and me making the scarf a smidge too wide, I ended up having to cut the scarf shorter than I would've liked because I didn't have enough yarn to make it any longer- at least not with evenly sized stripes. Like had they been thinner I could've repeated the pattern a little longer, but oh well, it is what it is.
With the scrap yarn I just made this ugly little neck warmer, and yeah, it'll keep my neck warm indoors.
And then, using the scrap yarns from the bleeding heart sweater, made a very Crimbus-y beanie. Sidenote but I did actually pre-wash the fucking red yarn before knitting this, because I did not want a repeat of the dye bleeding incident.
But yeah, it's a beanie. Again, held the yarn double this time and I'm glad I did because oh, it made the beanie so soft. It is so comfy y'all, I can not wait for December so I can wear it.
I still have more of that red yarn left though. No clue what I'm doing with it.

Spice Neckwarmer
The colors on this are warm and remind me of spices or a good warm meal. Golden color with stripes of red and green mixed in intervals throughout, with ribbing at the top and bottom. Very tall; squishes down for a bundled-up feel despite its thin weight. I don't have the yarn info for this one-- the label got lost-- but it's a wool-nylon blend typical of a sock yarn.
Yarn: wool/nylon
Measurements: ~13" tall and ~23" circumference.
