Of course! I hear you on that so I hope to be able to provide 🫡 Here are more Soap headcanons!

(My first hc post for him can be seen here and describes how I see the character as a whole!)

Prone to humblebragging, but never with ill intent. He simply likes attention and compliments and knows he deserves them.

Soap does tend to act before he thinks, but when he does it usually always pays off.

Always the one to read the room before others. He's extremely perceptive of his environment.

He's a good liar, but only with people he doesn't know.

When he's anxious, he makes everyone around him anxious because it's extremely noticeable. He sweats, fidgets, stutters. It's exceptionally rare for him to be really anxious and this is why him being stressed would stress out anyone in the vicinity. His personality is contagious, but it really shows in this particular case.

Genuinely loves his job. Soap is unable to picture himself out of the military: he needs the structure, knows he fits in; and it offers the perfect balance for him to feel right at home, spend his energy and hone his skills.

The nickname "Soap" does NOT come from his ability to clear out rooms. This is the myth. This is what they want you to believe.

*Peeks around corner* Headcanon that during the scorch trials, because Alby (shh he's alive) knew that Newt wasn't immune unlike the others, whenever they were running or sneaking around he'd always grip Newt's hand to make sure he didn't fall behind. And he's always be the one holding Newt from behind whenever they slept, almost like he could protect him, even though Alby knew he really couldn't, not with the flare still existing.

Sorry, I’ve just been super busy on top of other things, and haven’t done much ffvii related stuff in general lately. It may have been eaten tho bc my inbox is backed up to the tune of hundreds rn.

Anyway lol. I honestly feel like it may have been the better outcome. Or, at the very least, may not have created a situation that snowballed quite as fast as the canon one did. IMO Angeal would have been way more likely to remain calm and ask for help and not immediately jump to mass defection and rebellion. He’d have also probably brought Sephiroth into the fold not long after Gen, assuming he doesn’t tell just them at the same time.

I also feel like Gen would be way more likely to not just…. utterly reject help from Sephiroth due to his pride if it’s the life of someone that dear to him on the line and not his own. He wouldn’t be happy about it, obviously, but I definitely think his pride would be less in the way as it is in canon.

Keep in mind tho: Genesis was the ‘failure’ experiment and Angeal didn’t show any signs of degradation — Hollander considered him a success because he fully inherited Gillian's Jenova cells and his abilities ultimately got stronger. So that may be why he didn’t end up in Gen’s position to begin with.

he moves into an apartment with warriors because its cheaper and convenient and he gets to mess with warriors EVERY SINGLE DAY how fucking cool is that. watching warriors fumble and tear apart the livingroom looking for the tv remote legend put in his inventory has never been so fucking amazing.

as prev mentioned, his quirk - living inventory - comes in handy when he wants to fuck w wars. he can take the dudes phone, store it, and watch him come back and stare Directly where it had been in absolute Awe that his phone just fucking Dipped of the plane of existence. legend has done this more than once, and it is also how he ended up owning the phone he still uses.

he does not have any enhanced strength or speed so hes not exactly the Strongest person there, but thats why he goes to ravio and four for support items !!! they always do him so good.

hes best at hand to hand combat, mostly cos hes small and light on his feet. hes not terribly bad at other things tho!

he and hyrule carry the medkits - legend can carry far more than hyrule, though, considering he has like.......... unlimited storage space.

he met the chain for the first time in the first class of the school year, but he'd known warriors and Maybe hyrule a while before even considering applying for the hero course.

legend is trans, as always with me, and grey-ace! he goes by he/him, but probably would not mind they/them and puts up with she/her just because hes used to hearing it! hes very neutral on she/her use for himself, actually, but when they r used solely because hes transmasc and op wants to b a dick is when he grows tired of it.

Hey have any favourite headcanons about Legend at all? How would the chain react when Legend tells them about his adventures (Specifically how he watched his uncle die, had to rescue his sister and was traumatised by soldiers?) Also they they definitely get arrested/captured at some point and Legend just straight up turns into a painting, leaves the cell and a few minutes later kicks the door open whistling while swinging the ring of keys around his finger lol. i really like the hc that he has arthritis or some kinda pain in his bones!! both in his arms and legs tbh, hes done equal damage to them both over the years im sure. i also like the hc that he genuinely didnt know that koholint was a dream. for less angst? he loves eggs and rice, but the eggs gotta be not runny. he also likes curry !!! he and ravio would make it together and it was really fuckin good. he likes banana bread (cos koholint) and also pumpkin bread (specifically skyloft's).

for the reactions to some of the things during his adventures?? they would be fuckin horrified, probably. theyve all seen and heard some shit, definitely, and theyre all varying levels of disturbed about a lot of things they hear the others had to deal with. but they also can all tell when something Really fucked with whoever is talking about it, and those things in particular bother the chain more than some (some!!) of the other subjects. its not? fun?, for lack of better terms atm, to see someone still hurt over things. not in a "get over it already" way but in a "im sorry this happened to you" (and that its still affecting you) way.

in legends case? seeing his uncle in the sewer and having to Leave him there would bother him. never getting his guardians remains to bury properly? for a year? that haunted and continues to haunt legend always, even after his uncle was brought back by the triforce's wish. even if his reanimated uncle didnt blame him and said it was alright. even after he (sort of) got to bury his uncle the second time around.

that's a guilt you cant get rid of, at least not for him. its also not something a kid should have to deal with in general, and the chain would fucking hate that legend had to mourn his uncle twice, if he was even able to mourn and process his death at all during his adventure and before the next adventure.

warriors in particular would be pissed about the soliders thing, i think, and rightfully so. in general, too, not just from them literally hunting him and trying to kill him. all in all theyre shitty soliders, at least in my hc? its laughable, how shitty they are at their jobs. they wear armour and all that because its for show. they are there for the fame and glory. all the bark, none of the bite. in alttp the soliders only know one fucking method of battle each (spear, sword, bomb, etc), and that, to wars, is so fucking stupid and hilariously sad.

that, and theyre already fucking weirdos and assholish!!! in the literal games one of them says zelda smells nice and that it's what makes guard duty worth it. another one asks link if shes still as pretty as ever??? its fucking weird. some whine about having to do work, some slack off very obviously, and some just fucking zone out and dont pay attention. theyre not good fucking guards, man. (also link sneaks into the castle multiple times. sneaky, sure, yeah, but also the guard in front of the castle in alttp literally woulda seen legend walk to the garden on the side????)

its why, imo, they were controlled so easily so many times? theyre shit at their jobs and border on bad and weird already anyway. warriors wouldnt think they were honorable or whatever At All.

also the,,, them getting arrested is a little funny. nine armoured men, arrested. for what!!!!!! who knows. breaking out not recommended (very illegal!!!) but thats no fun <3. legend does it anyway.
